Amy Raudenfield: Hey! What are you doing right now?
Shane Harvey: Going to school like a normal person. Did you snort some meth this morning?
Amy Raudenfield: I need you to help me find a girlfriend. I think.
Shane Harvey: Amy, you already have a girlfriend. If these people find out you’re faking, they will lynch you and not even notice the irony.
Amy Raudenfield: But I’m not faking and that’s the problem! If I’m having these feelings for Karma, I must be a lesbian.
Shane Harvey: Whoa! I think it’s too soon to bust out the label marker.
Amy Faudenfield: You’re the one who outed me to the entire school! Remember?
Shane Harvey: Yeah. But now I realize you’re much more complicated. And interesting!

I have a feeling Hawk won't label his sexuality one way or another. When Caleb said he was attracted to people of deep faith that seemed to strike a cord with Hawk and if Joy should press him further on that, I'd expect him to say he's attracted to the person, not the gender. As much as I'd love to see a male character identify as bisexual, I doubt Hawk's the one. And that's cool, too.
I’m sorry this took me so long to get to. I’ve had a migraine for a few days, so I didn’t have the energy to get to this.
I think you’re right. There’s the issue in media where bi characters are rarely ever stated to be bi, but there are also some characters where they just wouldn’t label themselves because it’s not in character to do so. (Amy Raudenfield from Faking It also comes to mind)
When I said I want Hawk to be bi, I really just meant I want it confirmed that he likes a guy so we know he likes guys and girls. Whether or not he labels himself is entirely up to him, since I agree with you that it makes more sense for his character not to.
Side note that didn’t fit into anywhere else on this post: I totally forgot about the ‘deep faith’ scene, so I think it’d be more accurate to say Hawk’s probably pansexual.
#I love getting to talk about this I will discuss LGBT representation in the Path all day#tv: the path#the path

Can you do a moodboard of Amy Raudenfield from Faking It?. Please and thank you
It has been ages since I saw the show and I have no real memories of how she was as a person. So it will be hard for be to make it justice. Also right now I don’t have any Photoshop so I can’t make anything at the moment. I’m sorry I can’t help you with it.

this isn't a headcanon but i just wanted to ask how you guys ( esp the bi's but i wouldn't be against a gay opinion! ) feel about amy raudenfield on faking it and her whole binary sexuality thing?? love this blog!
okay, so admission time. i have never watched a full episode of faking it. i know!! i know!! but. hear me out. it always looked like a really bi erasure heavy show, in which one of the main characters just... never said the b word. they played the “but i don’t like labels” card, as well as the “pick a side” and an array of other fun biphobic bullshittm i really didn’t want to hear. so i just. didn’t?? BUT!! now, karma ( my new favorite bi child ) seems to be calling shit out!! okay, this totally doesn’t make up for seasons and seasons ( or like two?? three, maybe?? ) of biphobia and bi erasure, and even some continuing from many other characters ( cough AMY cough ) but it’s still progress. also, i know you asked about amy, but hey, if amy’s identifying as a lesbian, who are we to judge?? sure, she’s a biphobic lesbian and she could definitely work on that, but she’s a lesbian nonetheless, and that’s just the way it is. she may have been with a guy or two ( or three?? again. i know like fucking nothing about this show ), but just because amy isn’t a GOLD STAR LESBIAN ( dun dun duuuuh ), doesn’t mean she isn’t one at all. anyway. those are my two cents on faking it.-admin kate
#faking it#amy raudenfield#bi erasure#i don't know how to answer this really solidly bc im not caught up on faking it i just stare at it from afar w a sad look on my face#Anonymous

I know a lot of people want Amy & Karma together but honestly it’s better for Amy to move on and be happy whether or not they get together. It hurts so much to try to pretend you’re over someone but continue to get mixed signals. Maybe Karma does like her or will one day but right now it’s not healthy for Amy to be with someone that ambivalent. To me their friendship is just as great as a possible relationship and the only way to save that is for Amy to get over her. Then if one day they both have equally strong feelings they can date, but either way they should be close forever :)

Faking It 2x15 'Boiling Point' Review: You wish this was your squad
Faking It offers simple but effective entertainment in what is an episode that will surely be remembered as one of the funniest ever on the show. This is what happens when a TV series that has a small group of characters, with well-defined personalities, forces the protagonists in the same room, for detention, with nothing other than one another to spend time with. Faking It doesn't put to waste the opportunity and brings up all their traits we are familiar with in a dangerous mix of hilarious meta jokes, harsh comments and, of course, lies.
Spoilers are included in this review.
For most of this episode, we are stuck in detention with our main characters. Turns out, they've all been either lying to each other or to themselves. They are all struggling and the show does a great job at putting the spotlight on the tension between them: they're upset, messy and have complicated relationships. Maybe that's why we hardly see them interact so much, but if the result is episodes like this one, then we'd rather face the wrath of every single one of them!
Between family drama, personal doubts and mutual accusations we are driven towards the main truths:
Amy (Rita Volk) hasn't told Karma (Katie Stevens) that her mom has been cheating on her step-dad with her father, which Karma is not fond of;
Lauren (Baily De Young) is secretly dating Theo (or whatever you want to call him, Keith Powers);
Karma is considering a check signed by Liam's father, to stay away from Liam (Gregg Sulkin) – apparently it is unthinkable to Liam that Karma might consider 250,000 dollars, even though her family is now broke; I mean if it were Amy – who is the best friend Karma ever had and who loved her since forever, she wouldn't have thought about it, to put it the way Liam has.
All of these revelations crush together until the arguing is interrupted by Shane, who starts crying despite his attempt at swallowing down his sadness with sweets: he thinks his friends are right, that he outs people and he is an horrible person. Seeing Shane's all broken, the group gathers together and decides to help him reach Duke (Skyler Maxon) and apologize before the boy leaves town.
And here comes another reveal:
Felix (Parker Mack) is the son of the hated Principal Turner (Bernard Curry) – we were aware of that, but almost every character present was not;
How do they find out? Well, if it isn't a fortunate circumstance for the group to escape detention and help Shane with the plan: Felix makes up ridiculous sex questions since his father told him, during their 'sex talk', that he could ask whenever he had any doubts. The breaks in between scenes, with Felix asking questions that vary from oral sex to why men have nipples, from the benefits of masturbation straight to bestiality honestly make one of the funniest things I have ever seen in my whole life. You wouldn't usually see a father answer those so easily and reasonably as Principal Turner does either. I died a little at every question Felix asked.
Eventually, when the group has been driven by cop Theo (let's call him that for convenience) to Duke, Shane tells him all about how sorry he is and that he is aware he did something awful. Still, Duke can't forgive him. It looks like it's the end for these two.
With the agreement that all that happens in detention stays in detentions, the group splits and everyone goes their way. On the notes of Don't You (Forget About Me) by Simple Minds, we are launched through Amy possibly getting her father back and Liam hanging colored post-its around the Skwerkel office to announce to his father that he quits and arrows leading straight to the check (decorated with a probably heartfelt invitation – F-ck you) that Karma refused and gave back to him after a sincere talk about how she wishes she didn't have to (rightfully) consider it.
In the end, the revelations seem to have brought them closer, as we are shown hints of Shane/Liam and Karma/Felix comforting each other.
Overall, this episode is probably one of the best we have in the whole series: hilarious, dramatic and comprehending of teachings, it will capture you from the first to the last second in a balance that will not even be as rushed as it might seem. Nice job, Faking It!
RATINGS
Acting: 8/10 – The acting is always effective on Faking It. There's little to say as the performance is constant and hardly lacking. There's nothing to say, they make it believable and that is not an easy task what the actors are given.
Continuity: 8/10 – All the lines come to a knot. Here's to all the lies and the secrets that can't resit five minutes with them all sitting in the same room. Everyone in detention is here with a specific role to play, linked to the storylines, and not just to show their faces.
Entertainment: 9/10 – This episode will be over before you realize it began. And once it's over, you might find yourself wanting to watch it over and over and over again until you know it by heart. If you love these characters, you will inevitably be enchanted with it.
Humour: 9.5/10 – The jokes are so personal and linked to the characters, it is a blessing for fans of the show. There is so much about them into every comic line - from Amy asking Theo if he has donuts to the 'Shane outing people' jokes, etc. - that fans will feel at home. Also, you can't not give Faking It a bonus for the infamous 'sex questions' Felix asks his dad. Really.
Did anyone scream at the line: “That's a big check. No, seriously, that's twice the standard size” ?
Writing: 8/10 – It mostly takes place in one place, but it goes smoothly. As mentioned above, we arrive to the knots of the those strings the characters have been playing with. It is interesting despite the setting and it challenged the show to make something out of one scenery. A challenge Faking It clearly won.
OVERALL: 8.5/10 – How I wish episodes were all like this! Filled with crude humor, characters put face-to-face, dynamic dialogue, Liam pointing out that Karma wouldn't consider staying away from Amy for 250,000 dollars! All the elements that make a Faking It episode glorious!
What do you think of the episode? What were the funniest part? What are you looking forward to the most next week? Did you not enjoyed? Let us know in the comments below!
