Day 2: Janet just absolutely fucking decks Samuel (Back in 2007. Lol.)

“I’ll go,” he said. “I’ll just fucking go. I’m sorry. Ames, I'll bring the car around..."

“Did you know?”

Samuel squinted, then looked to Amy, but she only stood with her mouth open like a gaping idiot, completely lost, shocked and unsure what to say or do to help the situation. 

“You'll have to be a touch more specific. Did I know what?”

Janet bit her lip, the edges of her eyes glinting beneath the overhead lights. 

“Did you know about my son?” she asked. “Did you see him?”

Samuel’s entire expression fell, along with his shoulders. He stared back at Janet with his tongue in his cheek, holding onto his answer for a few moments.

“Baby?” Amy whispered, blinking up at him. 

Samuel only avoided her eye as he sighed, then spoke.

“I did.”

Janet let another moment pass, her face stone-blank save for the quiver in her chin. Then, faster than anyone could move to stop her, she brought forward her fist and struck Samuel hard against his cheekbone, creating a sickening thud and sending him stumbling off to the side, putting his hand on the opposite wall to catch himself. 

Amy yelped, rushing to his side and putting her hands on his shoulders to straighten him back up. In the light, she gently touched the fresh, red blood-blister beneath his eye until he moved her hand away. 

"Janet!" she raised her voice. "Stop!"

PREQUEL GIRLS & HAIR #4 - AMY RICCI

In 1990, Amy wore her hair in a pretty retro way, even for that time. She often rotated between two '60s' looks, a flip and a half-beehive. However, she also had a love for hair ribbons as well as getting her older sister to rag-curl her chocolate-brown locks, so there was some variety.

#3 Amy Ricci - b. December 26th, 1973

There’s a reason Amy and her family were considered ‘Helten royalty’. Even in her earliest memories, Amy can recall sitting on her father’s knee at socials and meetings with the H.C.I, discussing community politics that would bore her until they’d allow her and her sister to go play in the halls. 

Amy could often be found at the side of her older sister Michelle. Amy looked up to and even mimicked Michelle, who had always been pretty, funny, fearless, while Amy was shorter, plump and soft-spoken, treated as the ‘Innocent’ of the family-- and though both were heavily sheltered, Amy was never the one to break curfew, merely the one to cover for Michelle when she did. 

Amy, however, could never be boring. From a young age, she had a vast range of interests and hobbies. She loved gymnastics, antiques, silver-screen cinema, watercolour painting, baking, et cetera-- and always had something to occupy her. 

Amy, most of all, was a history buff. It started when her father would show her old family heirlooms and teach her everything he knew about the Ricci family history, then expanded from there. Though she favoured caster history, she’d study just about anything. As a child, she’d use allowance money to frequent the community museum, memorizing every exhibit. When the museum was threatened to be shut down, a ten year-old Amy even started her own petition, going door-to-door to save her home away from home. 

Ironically, Amy was also a romantic from a young age, loving to read about and watch it in her favourite movies. However, unlike her sister, she had minimal interest in real boys, sometimes having a little crush, but quickly losing interest, usually with the complaint that they were “Boring”. 

Though it never really bothered her before, puberty brought with it a number of new insecurities for Amy. Subtle things began to bother her. She was a Ricci, which meant everyone knew her, everyone looked at her, so she’d have to make sure to hide any blemishes. She had a plumper frame, which had her stealing spanx from her mother as young as thirteen. 

Worst of all was that she didn’t want to be bothered by things this trivial. She was smart, she was kind, she knew she was pretty-- and she wasn’t overly interested in dating, so why should it matter? 

Still, small experiences would break her down easy. One of the worst being in grade ten. Amy had been thrilled after being accepted onto the cheerleading team. However, she quickly found out, to her dismay, that the uniforms only came in a few petite sizes. Still, to not draw attention to herself, she took one into the locker room, but ended up humiliated when another, well-meaning girl loudly announced that it didn’t fit and asked for a different one. She considered quitting, but was convinced not to by her sister, who brought the uniform to a tailor, and had it resized. 

In high-school, Amy would be seen one of two ways. Most would say that she was sweet and harmless, though a little innocent. Others would say she was downright prudish. Amy, however, felt herself far more complex than that, even beginning to surpass her goody-two-shoes expectations, for amy, along with her best friends, Marcia and Betty, had even begun an illegal study-group in the library, where they’d go over old caster documents, most of which had been forbidden from caster eyes. 

Amy, afterall, had picked up a bit of a political standpoint from all she’d learned growing up a Ricci. However, her view was surprisingly controversial. She believed that many community struggles could be resolved through further understanding of their own history, and acknowledgement of its value. Afterall, why else were they forbidden from knowing it?

Genetics Charts - Prequel Mains

Like a year or two ago, I crafted up these charts for my main-plotline characters-- and @averyharrypotterlife suggested I do the same for my prequel mains. I was with my mom and incredibly bored this evening, so I whipped some up on my phone, which was a pain in the @$$.

Naturally, M stands for Mother and F stands for Father. I went with the parent that most matched the feature, although most are a mixture of the two, as genetics naturally goes. I also tried to find relatively young photos of the parents, to show the genetics without the effects of aging. The kids are, naturally, how they're supposed to look in the prequel (1990)

So yeah, I jumped ahead of myself and spent the last week and a half basically writing from when I wake up to about 3am the 'final battle' with Eldon and the C.D.Os (Cause hey, when inspiration strikes.)

It will almost definitely be refined at some point, but I needed to share. I was gonna lose my mind if I kept slaving over it. Lol.

Anyway, this is such a critical scene for so many characters and I'm so stoked to share, so I'll shut up now.
