Day 4 and 5 of amphibiuary! We had a happy friend singing and a bowl of frogs for dessert!

Amphibiuary 2024

Got a bit of a late start his year, but here are my first 6. I really liked this dragon creature i doodled, so all my entries will be about this species this year.

"I'm just going to do quick doodles for these," I said. "Some fast pencil scribbles."

*proceeds to spend an hour drawing a single frog.*

Clearly I am full of lies. It is 99% pencil tool though. Using the ink pen brush to do the eyes so they have crisp edges.

Amphibiuary Day 4: Sing. One of my favourite frogs, the spring peeper, Pseudacris crucifer.

My childhood home was very close to a large wetland area. You knew springtime was truly here when the peepers would start living up to their name. The volume level of their booty calls is not commensurate with their tiny size at all. Some ponds in the woods could be almost painful to stand near with how loud it would get.

Amphibiuary 2024 Day 4: Sing

A simple Zed for today, had to be done. They're wearing an outfit I wore recently because I got stuck on what to have them wear, it's not their usual style I will admit lmao

(Posting the last couple of days was delayed mostly by the fact that I was busy when there was enough daylight for taking photos, which is fleeting enough as it is this time of year fnfnnf)

This frog is based on the Spring Peeper which is a local species and boy do they live up to their name!

This guy is not angry, he's just focusing VERY hard. It's important to sing your best song if you're trying to attract a mate.

Lucky for him, someone seems interested...
