Hey does tumblr have an Official Plant because if not I have a submission to make, a very strong contender for this site!
May I present to you the genus: Amorphophallus.
Yes, Amorpho-phallus, literally Greek for the 'shapeless penis' plant.
It's the tallest flower in the world! The magnificent Shapeless Penis, dwarfing grown-ass adults with a flower that grows up to 8.2 feet, is a sight to behold.
It's also called the corpse flower, or corpse bride flower, because this beauty has "a strong odour of rotting human flesh". We love that here on tumblr.
Edit: Just found out that it is also known as the Devil's Tongue and Voodoo Lily or Voodoo Plant. So. Do with that what you will.
The root of some of these Amorphophallic beauties is edible (I've seen them lurking creepily at grocery stores, the grocer usually grabs an axe and slams it into the root to split it and sell a part). This root is known as the elephant foot yam, which is fitting, because it is large, malformed, and disturbingly hairy.
Idk a plant named shapeless penis that has an eight foot flower that smells like rotting human flesh and a hairy edible root that can grow heavier than a toddler seems very on brand for tumblr.
Here you go:

Happy Halloween!!! This has been quite a year for acquiring plants. This is Amorphophalus titanum, the holy grail of aroids. What my friend and I colloquially call the dick plant. And, being this the most high holy of holidays, appropriately a child of ‘Audrey’ and ‘Little Shop Of Horrors.’ Proud titanum parents I’m sure. These generally only get traded between prestigious botanical gardens and nursery professionals. Since more and more specimens are flowering and pollen is traded, new generations are beginning to crop up. Which means you too might have a dick plant some day. It’s been demonstrated to respond well to propagation by leaf cuttings also. Now, to grow it up to a juicy 100lbs hahahahahaaha!!!!! Feed it blood? This is at minimum an eight year endeavor in the best of conditions. And I don’t have a greenhouse yet….Meet the newest member of my family, SuddenlySeymour!

Titan Arum spotlight! Part 1.
This is the great Titan Vancoug at Washington State University Vancouver, blooming in late June 2023. First, some wide shots for scale. That part that looks like a tree is a leaf.

And I think the "leaf" is super cool!

Amorphophallus muelleri is native to the Andaman Islands, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia. This plant is actually growing in a pot in the greenhouse but I didn't like the actual background so I added a fake one.

An Amorphophallus sp. in the lowland rainforest of SE Aceh Province, 400m. (Not sure the young plants and the flowers are the same species)

Amorphophallus atroviridis I got from the SG garden fest last year in potato form. It finally sprouted! But it was so overenthusiastic... the stem was extra long and it ended up falling over and breaking itself.
There's another tiny sprout on the actual plant so I'm not worried but I kept this one in a glass of water so I can admire it a little longer. I love the little pink margin on the leaves so much.

Amorphophallus manta. Not a common species to find only saw two plants while in West Sumatra. Its leaves are silvery with pinkish glitter, very attractive.
