A vs. Pre
Amillennarians believe that the binding of Satan is but another way of speaking of Jesus’ victory over the devil during our Lord’s messianic mission. The thousand years are not a literal period of time, but refer to the entire age between Christ’s first and second coming (the inter-advental period). If true, the binding of Satan begins with our Lord’s death and resurrection, continues throughout the present age, and ends with the release of Satan from the abyss (abussos) shortly before Jesus returns at the end of the age when Antichrist is revealed during a time of final apostasy (cf. 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12). This brief apostasy is followed by the final consummation which includes: the general resurrection (1 Thessalonians 4:13-5:11; 1 Corinthians 15:50-57), the final judgment (Matthew 25:31-46; Revelation 20:4-6, 11-15), and the ushering in of a new heavens and earth (2 Peter 3:4).
Premillennarians, however, contend that the thousand years are a literal period of time commencing with Christ’s second advent, who then establishs his physical rule over the earth in a millennial kingdom (Revelation 20:1-7). During this time, Satan is bound. The thousand years end with Satan’s release from his imprisonment so as to lead the nations in a final revolt against Jesus’ rule, immediately before the final judgment at the end of the millennial age (Revelation 20:7-10). I address the serious problems with this understanding of redemptive history here: Evil in the Millennial Age? A Huge Problem for Premillennarians.
To summarize, amillennarians understand the binding of Satan to be a present reality, while premillennarians see this scene as an entirely future event. ~ Kim Riddlebarger

Last Things
Dispensational Premillennial Eschatology Believes in a literal interpretation of scripture, and the catching away of God’s heavenly people (the Body of Christ) to meet the Lord in the air, which occurs before the seven-year tribulation takes place. After the tribulation, Christ will return to rule the millennial kingdom for a (literal) 1000 years over his earthly people (Israel). Called…

Note
There are people saying the tribulation starts Monday during the eclipse!
People say lots of things but the Scripture is sufficient. If you want to know anything with certainty about how the world will end, you need to start there. When you do, you will find that God's message to His people is not to get caught up trying to figure out the dates and times He chose for His own purposes (Acts 1:7).
When we get swept up in speculation and hype, we start setting our hopes on a date or some fallible wisdom from man instead of fixing our eyes on Christ. We are to always be ready for Christ to return at any time. The world is ripe for judgment and I am confident that God will do it, not because a youtuber said it's happening Monday, but because thus saith the Lord.
I believe you can come to a conclusion about the general sequence of events of the end times from what God has revealed in His Word, but He has very specifically said we will not know what those times are until they are actively happening. It's going to be unexpected like a thief in the night (1 Thess 5:2). Even if by some miracle of providence someone gets a date right, they can't say they knew it because God has not revealed it.
What we can know, at least based on what I have studied, is that the Tribulation cannot happen until 1) The restrainer of the Holy Spirit in the church is taken away (2 Thess 2:7), and 2) the man of lawlessness enters his 7 year covenant with Israel (Dan 9:27).
The organization of end times events is challenging to figure out. It's the study of last things, and like calculus, you have to have everything in the right order to come to the correct conclusion. I don't have it all figured out, but here are the promises of God I can trust and will proclaim from the roof tops until Jesus appears.
God will protect the Church from His wrath (1 Thess 5:9). We will not endure any of His judgment on the earth for their sin because our sin was paid for by Christ. Jesus will call for us, resurrect us, and meet us in the air (1 Thess 4:16-17).
All the evil we see in the world right now will be judged by God for eternity. Jesus will physically come as a conquering king to put an end to man's rebellion and wickedness and willing enslavement to Satan and his lies (Rev 19:11-16).
Jesus could come at any time, without delay. The only thing stopping Him from judging the world right now in fire is His own mercy and grace (2 Pet 3:9). This should inspire us not to twiddle our thumbs staring into the clouds waiting for Jesus to return, but to be about the task He assigned us, making disciples of all nations, inviting them to join His kingdom while He is still offering grace and their hearts are not hardened (Acts 1:11; Heb 3:13).

Revelation 20: The Abyss, The Seal, and the Devil
Now that we have reached the Millennium, possibly one of the most famous passages in the whole of the New Testament after the Gospels, the categories change to Pre-, A-, and Postmillennial interpretations. #Revelation20 #TheMillennium
After reading through the first three chapters of Revelation, interpretation of this apocalyptic and prophetic document written two thousand years ago has fallen neatly into four categories: Historicist commentators see the fulfilment of Revelation carried out in church history. Preterist scholars see John’s Apocalypse as a word to those who lived through the destruction of Jerusalem—possibly…

Asking God for Discernment; The Desolation of Jerusalem, PT. 1
Eschatology is a divisive matter in our time because people disagree about so much, and we don’t really know how to have civil discussions. When talking about the end-times, people from every camp like to light their fires with Matthew 24. I’ll be upfront about what I think. I am postmillennial. Yet, I want to recognize that if all we do is try to use Matthew 24 as a defense of a position we hold…

Morning Headlines 4 of 5
by Jonathan Brentner | I love reading the book Proverbs, one chapter a day corresponding to the day of the month. This has been a part of my morning quiet times for many years. Even though the passages are familiar with many verses underlined, the Lord often provides new insights…

So...Pre-Millennialism, Post-Millennialism or Amillennialism?
I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that Catholics have to be pre-millennialists but I'm not positive and this issue isn't really something I put a whole lot of thought into. If I'm going to argue about timeframes and dating I prefer it to be about the Old Testament.

From my sermon on Revelation chapters 6-7
The History of Eschatological Views (End Times.
“…many who belong to the pure and pious faith, and are true Christians, think otherwise.” -Justin Martyr (2nd century)
“Full-length commentaries from the first three centuries of the church have not survived for us to examine, with the exception of that of Victorinus of Pettau (early 4th century d. 303), which seems to have come down to us in a form altered from its original state. We know that Melito of Sardis (later second century 170), Irenaeus (late second century 180), and Hippolytus of Rome (early third century 220) all wrote complete commentaries on Revelation, but none of these have survived to the present.
There are fragments of exposition on Revelation to be found in Justin Martyr (d.165), Melito, Irenaeus, Hippolytus, and other early fathers. In his writings, Tertullian (d. 220) quoted from eighteen of the twenty-two chapters.
We do not have access to much that was written in the first four centuries of the church, and a large variety of interpretations may have been held for which no documentation has survived.”
Justin Martyr(2nd century) (a Chiliastic(kill-e-asm) premillennialist), writing on this very subject, left clear testimony to the presence in his day of alternative viewpoints in the church.
In his Dialogue With Trypho, Justin wrote:
“I am not so miserable a fellow, Trypho, as to say one thing and think another. I admitted to you formerly, that I and many others are of this opinion premillennialism and believe that such will take place, as you assuredly are aware; but on the other hand, I signified to you that many who belong to the pure and pious faith, and are true Christians, think otherwise.”
There are two principal varieties of premillennialism:
Historic premillennialism and dispensational premillennialism or, simply, dispensationalism. The latter differs from the former in its emphasis on the continuing centrality of national Israel in God's eschatological program and in anticipating a Rapture of Christians to heaven before the beginning of the Tribulation.

Christian Hope and the Millennium
A Fresh Perspective We have a pretty interesting topic today—Christian hope and the concept of the Millennium, based on the Bible. Now, the term “amillennial” might sound a bit confusing at first. It might make you think that those who hold this view don’t believe in what Revelation 20 says about “the thousand years.” But that’s not true. People who are amillennial actually find a lot of value…

Revelation: Preparation for the Millennium
Apocalyptic literature becomes especially meaningful for those who are suffering. When the going gets rough, it helps to see the light at the end of the tunnel, to know the last page of this story ends well. #Millennium #SecondComing
We are poised to begin the last part of John’s Revelation. The Arc of Revelation Revelation: Over-Arching Story During the three cycles of increasingly catastrophic troubles and woes to be experienced at the end of human history, John is given a series of visions revealing spiritual battles in the heavenly realms. Angel armies crash together, and cast out the enemies of God. A pregnant woman…

Chaos and Kingdom
In this 34th week of Ordinary Time, in the shadow of the Solemnity of Christ the King of the Universe, we have been reading from the Book of Daniel, a book used in conjunction with Revelation to conjure predictions of the end of the world… depending on whether you are post-millennial, pre-millennial, or amillennial…but then that is a topic for another post.
