After what must have been multiple days worth of sheer working time from October 6 to today, December 15, my biggest project ever (that wasn’t done for school lol) is finally finished. My Ravelry notes on this project are completely unhinged :’) It was truly an ordeal despite its deceptively simple construction and I’m proud I kept going even when it wasn’t fun, like making all 136 legs… fun fact, it’s about as long as I am tall lmao. My first amigurumi!!!

This cute little pill bug lad was a going away gift for a dear friend of mine, @verminadorer. This project marks the first time I ever used a written pattern (was just using video tutorials before then) and it taught me a lot of new techniques including the magic ring.

I've been informed his name is Terrence!!🖤

It is mainly for a MUCH longer full millipede (which I still wanna make as a scrap project one day) but also includes instructions for the shorter version. (Also, its free.)

I have made The Creature. this is modified from the free shuttle the shongololo pattern by projectarian!

I only did 29 segments and improvised the legs and antennae. the eyes are sewn felt. I used 32oz of stuffing, a little over 3 (7oz) skeins of the body color, and a little over 1 (8.8oz) skein of the belly color, which are loops and threads sweet snuggles lite in robin blossom and winter white. I used the 4mm hook recommended by the pattern but just used a single strand for all parts. I think I also turned the belly inside out because I like it better.

AAAYYYE!!! I think i have a daily goal in mind! 5 sections a day. Because theres 33 sections and i now have 11 done, ill only need to work about another 5 days to get the belly done!!

So. We now have 11 segments including the collum peice, all THANKFULLY the same width so its consistent, and shes about 25 INCHES LONG!!! Over 2 feet!! AYYYYYEE

Now i ALSO respun (thats not the right term but idk what is) 3 things of yarn so i have 2 extra so i can work on the legs aswell. I also reinforced the cardboard holders with hot glue so they dont immediately break and fall apart and mess up my nice rolls.

lxc's law firm's baby jail has a "wear your halloween costume to daycare" day? Most of the kids are going in like, ladybug or superhero costumes. And over here we have JueYing in her enormous handmade millipede costume, happily munching on her homemade snacks.

Jueying can't wear the full costume because it's a safety hazard, so Nielan send her to daycare without the detachable tail. Xiao-Yu attends the same daycare when he's staying over with the Nielan family, and he's following millipede!Jueying around in an enormous amigurumi bee costume.

that giant amigurumi millipede cconsumes my waking hours if i don't get my hands on a millipede longer than i am im going to perish. mostly though im really fixated for no reason on finding some fun novel material to sew it out of and nothing's clicked. like i COULD make it out of something normal but why am i even alive except to overengineer stuff that was literally already fine
