If there is a story you wanna tell, but you don't think you will ever have the time or resources to organize and tell it ""properly"" as like...a novel or a comic or whatever, it can absolutely just be...a bunch of brain storm-y blog posts and sketches that you share and compile over time on your blog. That is still a story. It is still a format. In theory, it might not be the "best, most effective" format...but in practise, the best, most effective format is the one that is accessible enough to let you get your ideas and narratives out at all♡

And, yanno--it is just nice to be able to give folks some context for your characters n stuff :3c

Hydrangea - Skelesona

Personality: She's a lovely, compassionate lady. She is a gorgeous and compassionate lady who enjoys music, writing, and sketching. She has a decent temper, but if you push her too far, she will express how frustrated she is. She is really bashful and works hard at her flower shop. When people flirt with her, she blushes rather easily. She feels shy and hides behind whatever she can find. She enjoys caring for others and assisting her buddies. She wishes there were more stories including weirdness, mystery, and romance. She is fearless and strong.

Appearance: She is about 5'1". She has purple eyelight. Her canines are sharper than the rest of her mouth. She’s chubby and soft. She has glasses. She has a tail that reaches her calves. She has vines with hydrangeas growing on them on her tail. She has vines growing on her ribs that occasionally blossom hydrangeas. When she's stressed, flowers grow on her hands and neck.

She has optional purple ecto hair.

Hydra - Horrortale Skelesona

Personality: She is a wonderful and tranquil person. She is particularly fond of animals, and they naturally love her. She is concerned about everyone and ensures that they are well-fed and cared for. She is straightforward and courageous. She tries to remain calm while looking after her companions. She's shy and quiet. She has a pleasant temper, but if you push her too hard, she'll let you know. She also writes horror stories, something nobody expects her to do. She appreciates music, art, and food, and will go to great lengths to make those she cares about happy.

Appearance: She has dark purple eyelights. She’s 5'8" and growing. Her canines are sharper than the rest of her mouth. She has scars all over her bones. She has glasses. She has a large scar on her eye that extends into small separate cracks on her skull. Her tail reaches past her ankles. She has wilted vines and flowers growing on her tail and ribs. When she is stressed, flowers grow, but quickly wilt on her hands and neck. (Once on the surface, the flowers on her start to become vibrant again.)

Halesia - Underfell Skelesona

Personality: She's a fearless and powerful woman. She goes for the throat and has a rough and ruthless appearance but a loving and sweet disposition. She's straightforward and direct. She lacks self-control and will fight someone. She emanates confidence and strength. She will go to tremendous lengths to defend the people she loves. She is remarkably compassionate, but she can also provide tough advice. She is also quite strict and severe. Her sense of self-preservation is remarkable. She is wary of persons whom she believes are dangerous. She is able and willing to combat anyone she dislikes.

Appearance: She has reddish-purple eyelids. She’s 5'4" and growing. Her canines are sharper than the rest of her mouth. She has scars all over her bones. She has a small scar on her cheek. She doesn’t need glasses in comparison to her counterparts. Her tail is to her knees. She has flowers and vines growing on her ribs, tail, and her neck. When stressed, her flowers and vines grow thorns and more flowers grow.

Jamesia - Underswap Skelesona

Personality: She is an extremely quiet and nice lady. She enjoys sewing, knitting, and making stuff. She never gives up and is not hesitant to put someone in their place with words. She is brave and astute, but also kind and patient. She is a social butterfly who runs a modest store. She possesses great power. She is not afraid to express it. She has a tendency to fight anyone who offended her. She's a seamstress who loves her work and she writes sometimes. She is also a flirty person who has been on numerous dates and in relationships. She is also well-dressed and has a sense of fashion.

Appearance: She’s a skeleton monster. She has purple eyes and purple magic. She is 5'1". Her ecto is purple. She has a tail that's about to her calves. She has flowers and vines growing on her ribs and tail. When she's stressed, flowers grow rapidly on her neck.

Jovellana - Swapfell Amethyst Skelesona

Personality: She is a cold, aloof person. She keeps to herself and rarely discusses many topics. She has been spotted frequently loosing her temper and never being scared to fight someone. She avoids talking about her family and helps others whenever feasible. She distrusts everyone she regards as a threat. She never enables anyone to approach her unless they make a concerted attempt to become her friend. She is lighthearted and close to Jamesia, whom she confides in with her life. She is very distant and seems to be a painting social media star.

Appearance: She is a skeleton monster! She is roughly 5'1". She has purple-ish red eyes. She has sharper teeth than most skeleton monsters. She has a scar on her left cheek. She has flowers growing on her ribs, arms, and tail. Her tail is to her ankle.

Hyacinth - Dancetale Skelesona

Personality: In many aspects, Hyacinth is similar to Hydrangea. She is, nonetheless, more confident and less dense. She is both sweet and cocky. She adores dancing and smiling. She is quite sweet and thoughtful. She has a pleasant temper, but if you push her too far, she will give you the cold shoulder and the quiet treatment. She enjoys horror movies and games, something no one expects from her. She prefers singing and dancing. She takes an active role in the performances. She also sings. She wishes there were more stories about strangeness, mystery, and romance.

Appearance: She has purple eyelights. She’s 5'1" and will bite you if you tease her. Her canines are sharper than the rest of her mouth. She has glasses (but doesn't need them.) She has flowers growing on her tail and ribs.

Pokemon Reborn Chapter 1: Reborn, the City of Ruin

Another one for Reborn City, huh? They sure have been pushing that new league. Let's see... Which one of these was it?

We got our trainer select screen! We get to pick between six trainers, whose canon names are Vero, Alice, Kuro, Lucia, Ari, and Decibel. Regardless of who we pick, the game lets us pick our gender separately. This means you can play through the game as Alice as a boy, Kuro as a girl, or Vero as nonbinary. This is amazing and I need more fan games to do this immediately.

So I promise that I'm not gonna comment on each and every little thing with several paragraphs for the sake of not destroying the pacing, but I'll say now that I like this intro sequence. It's super quick and to the point. I like the absence of music at this point rather than any cheery tune playing in the background- it really helps set the mood. The region we're going to isn't exactly in the best shape right now and the league is a mess. Our introduction also isn't through a professor or an important figurehead like in the main games, it's through an unseen, unnamed NPC, talking to us very casually, almost dismissively.

The dialogue also implies that several trainers have signed up. We can infer from how difficult the gyms are and the lack of other gym challengers besides us and our rivals that trainers tend to drop out of the league fairly early on. All in all, it makes sense that there's not a ton of fanfare here. Before we've even picked our character, there's some smart storytelling here.

As for who I'm going with... well. I want to have some fun on this playthrough. Mostly to prove I'm not some guy who's just gonna go "oh this game is edgy and that's bad." I like edge! Edge can be fun! So, quick side tangent:

This is Flamberge. They kill people.

I'm not gonna get into their whole backstory because this is not the place for it, but the gist is that Flamberge is a skilled assassin that's put up a good reputation underground. They initially started killing out of revenge, but felt listless and "ruined" after getting it, so they dug their hole deeper by killing for money instead of their own gains.

They're also Valerie's bio parent and they have no idea she exists because they were arrested by Marlow and Team Spark and then escaped into an Ultra Wormhole. So that's fun! (NOTE: some of this is subject to change, not as happy with them right now)

See, I like to have fun with Pokemon playthroughs and name my Pokemon after my OCs. So for this game, I figured choosing Oshawott and naming it Flamberge would be perfect.

There's just one problem. This game only has Pokemon up to gen 7. So Hisuian Samurott is not an option, and it's gonna bother me if I evolve it into a Unovan one. Yes, I do take this stupidly seriously.

So I was sad for a second but was going to pick out a different name. And then it hit me. Canonically, they go through an ultra wormhole and explore another dimension for several years.

... Which means that they're prime isekai bait.

Also no this isn't actually canon to my own fanfiction. I'm just playing with my toys. I am here to have fun, I swear. Back to it.

"There, all set. Just between you, me, and the ol' battered fence post, I hear Reborn City's kind of a dump. Why anyone would wanna go there is beyond me. And yet, buncha you ambitious Trainer-type folk have been headin' out in droves. But off you go now. Train's leaving any minute."

The game properly starts off on the train passing through a desert, almost at our destination. Hi Absol, I'm sure you're here simply for scenery and nothing more.

???: "Okay, thank you very much! I'll see you when we get into the city."

We sit in one of the cars with the unselected trainers and a white haired woman who wants to introduce herself!

Your turn now; sorry for the wait. My name's Ame, the manager of the Reborn League.

Ame is Amethyst, this game's main dev.

You were also looking to sign up for it, right? It would be great if so! We're finally just getting things off the ground again. Truth is, after the incident a few years ago, the whole region was almost completely abandoned... even by the Pokemon.

It might not be an ideal place, but our Gym Leaders are like nothing you've ever seen before, and I think you'll find Reborn to be a region like no other, too! I'm coming back from some business out of town, so I figured I may as well introduce myself early and get a head start on everyone's registration. Could I see your boarding ticket, please?

I imagine that Flamberge is having one of the biggest "what the fuck" moments of their life. Humans are extinct in their timeline, and now they're one of them, and in a train car full of other ones.

Hm... Flamberge. I guess it's that time already, huh?

She moves on before she elaborates on that. This is where she asks for QoL passwords, and I've already said what mine are, but I haven't put in anything that'll affect the opponent's Pokemon or the Pokemon available to us, sans getting Aevian Misdreavus and Dratini earlier than usual. Just for fun.

We're almost at Grandview Station, so after we disembark, just follow me to the Grand Hall. There, I'll give you a starter Pokemon to really kick off your adventure in Reborn. Sound good? Then if you'll-

A ghost appears behind Flamberge, but vanishes before they turn around.

AME: Something's not right... Shouldn't we be decelerating already?

Oh damn! The train's crashed and Ame's just saved Flamberge by the skin of their teeth!

The screen stays black until Ame shakes Flamberge awake.

That train exploded right as we pulled into the station. I'm- I'm just glad I could get us out of there in time, but everyone else- Well... there's no use thinking about that now.

All of the unselected trainers die if you don't pick them. Dear lord, we're starting this off with a bang, aren't we?

God, the tone is so striking. The custom music for Peridot Ward, the area we're in, is a melancholic drone lamenting the city's fallen state. The water is polluted, there's broken glass and rubble everywhere. We've just had a near death experience. It's a heavy way to start the game, but it really does set the tone for the story perfectly-

... Oh.

This game is in-authentically edgy, huh. The type to undercut its own serious moments with "Random LOL XD" humor.

"Oh, it's just a quick little funny bit to lighten the mood-" No, it keeps going.

What a cool character, I'm enthralled with her already. /S

Well. I guess I was still right about the tone being set. So, I've got a lot of thoughts on how Reborn handles "mature" topics that I'll touch on as we go. But this moment here is a good example of why I feel Reborn fumbles that angle.

Why couldn't we wait until a bit later to lighten the mood with a joke? It's barely been a minute! People are dead! You can't immediately follow that up with "Teehee, oh Julia, you silly scamp and your random explosions! You're so quirky! Lmao read the room, Julia!"

Man, and the setup was so interesting, too! This would've been a good opener if they didn't shove in an "LOL So Random XD" moment to completely undercut the tension.

Not that saying you can't have comedy in your mature game, but timing is key. We could've waited on this #quirky intro for Julia. Like, in a game that's actually mature, the event would hang over the characters. But because of this joke, the crash already has less of an impact on me. If the game thinks it's not a huge deal to the point it can already make jokes about it, then why should I?

It's not even funny, it's just.... weird. Julia looks more like an asshole here than anything. And she's supposed to be the nice one in her friend group.

It doesn't help that once we're out of Peridot Ward, the crash isn't really brought up all too often. MC doesn't seem to have much trauma from it, none of the other main characters seem too affected, and we're already making jokes about it. Man.

Okay. Enough about that, let's get back to the plot.

AME: Whoever was behind it could still be monitoring from nearby. I'll have the perimeter locked down. We may yet catch them. I'm going ahead, Flamberge. There's another trainer who was meant to register with you at the same time, so find her and then come see me. I'll be in the Grand Hall, just down this road. You can't miss it. And don't you worry about all this. I'll have it completely taken care of.

For the sake of my own sanity, I'm not gonna detail every single little piece of dialogue in this LP if I can summarize without botching details. Julia asks if we're doing the Reborn League, and we get a point with her for saying yes, she says she's the electric gym leader, and we walk off to get our starter.

I'm Victoria. It's nice to meet you, but is everything okay? I heard what happened at the station... Well, you're here, so I guess you're all right. Let's go ahead and get registered.

Victoria's nice. I'm sorta neutral on her as a character, but I think that's just my own taste. She has a good arc.

Again though... while I like that she tries to comfort MC, it's weird that the characters are just brushing the attack off so quickly. Why not "Hey, maybe getting your starter will cheer you up?" or something? I dunno.

There's no sign of any suspect yet, but I've got several officers out searching the area.

Ame explains further that the city is in lockdown and the wards are gated until further notice, so we're stuck in Peridot Ward for now. That's okay, it's a bigger area and we've got plenty of stuff to do! Like get our starter, where we can pick from all 21 starters up to gen 7. Victoria lets us go first.

Do I even need to say who Flamberge's starter will be? Yeah, I'm just making the electric gym harder for myself, but c'mon... it's right there.

Apparently I forgot to linger on the nature page in the footage -_- Raine has Torrent and a Jolly nature! Gonna make them a physical attacker. I reset to get semi decent IVs.

Flamberge lore time!!! Raine was their name before they became an assassin. (NOT their deadname, btw. That is a different name altogether) Raine the Dewott was an outgoing sort who loved their family and their rescue team. They always gave Pokemon a second chance when they were hurt, and wanted to make the world a better place. Had they evolved, they'd have become a Unovan Samurott and fought honorable to uphold their parents' legacy.

Flamberge doesn't consider themself the same person as Raine anymore. They're too rotten to be called that anymore. But, when they stare at the Oshawott in the starter's room for too long, Ame prompts them to catch it, and so they do, and they name it Raine, because all they can think about was how sweet the Oshawott looks.

... This "trainer" business will take a lot of getting used to, Flamberge doesn't quite want to put Raine in it's ball. Despite the Oshawott's comfort around it, the idea of being in one made Flamberge uncomfortable. But even still, watching the Oshawott snuggle it's scalchop makes Flamberge feel nostalgic, and their pockets feel empty.

Heya! I've been getting into Steven Universe lately so I created my own OC, which I named based of a Ametrine Stone! Their main weapon are two daggers, and she had the ability to move objects with her mind (Telekinesis). I'm still working on her backstory, but what I have so far is that they really never fit in with home world. So naturally they were an outcast, causeing her to have to move plant to plant to stay away from the Gems from home world. Which were after their due to abilitys, odd nature, and Gem. One day they were in a small ship that they had created, looking for a new plant to hide on. That was untell out of nowhere a home world ship (One like the one the Ruby's used to and the Crystal Gems thought they were going after Peradot in during season 3 episode 9). Causeing them to crash land on Earth and coincidentally right next to the light house in Beach city. Which is right next to the Crystal Gems temple. Which this alerts the Crystal Gems and as usual they go and check out the scene. Which by now Ametrine had already pulled themselves out of the ship and was taking a moment to breath after the incident. Yet that breath was short lasted once the Crystal Gems arrived and when they saw her that quickly took her as an enemy while Ametrine did the same. Causieng them to jump up and hold out her Weapons (Daggers) in a fighting stance, prepared for anything. Thinking that the Crystal Gems were their enemy's. So they fought, and even with her strength the Crystal Gems were easily able to overpower them. Though they chose not to shatter them and instead they only caused Ametrine to Poof! (Idk what it's called I just remember that's what Steven calls it). Once they had Ametrine contained they took then back to the temple to "interrogate" them which it wasn't much of an investigation. They put them in the only secure place they could think of untell Ametrine would finally reform. Which they chose Amethysts messy room. Once Ametrine did reform they were quickly on their case asking her things like "Who are you?" Or things like "Are you with home world?". Which once these questions were asked it quickly showed that it was one big missunderstanding. So Ametrine quickly explained the situation and how they were not with home world. Which caused the Crystal Gems to lower their guard. They chose to let Ametrine go, but also wanted to keep an eye on them for the timebeing to make sure they hadn't lied. ALLRIGHTY!! That's all I really have for the Lore and backstory of the Character so far. Now as for their personally they are a pretty chill person, but is extremely petty at times. As well as a stubborn person, making it difficult to get through to them when they are dead set on something. Yet once they make a good friendship with someone they easily go soft and lower there guard, making them more bubbly around ones they love. Otherwise if they don't trust someone they tend to act cold and suspicious towards the person (or gem). Ok! That's just a short summary of what kinda person they are, but now for relationships with the different characters. They have a good relationship with Steven but they tend to get confused and often worried about the trouble that Steven can get himself into. Which leads them to have a little bit of caution when talking with Amethyst, because of how much trouble she influences Steven to get into. Making them not have the best relationship. The relationship with Pearl and garnet is pretty neutral, they respect them and also look uo to pearl in the slightest. Liking how she like to take control and keep thing neat and tidy. Ametrine has an allright relationship with Lapis, but they tend to butt heads and get into a lot of disagreements. (Mostly small petty things). The person that Ametrine had bonded with the most was Peradot! They grew to have a good relationship and they spend alot of time together!...If you read this far thank you for listening to my info dump on my OC Ametrine! Art dump of my pearl oc Tahir + lore

[Spoiler warning incase ya haven't watched all of steven universe or future]

Lore:

Tahir was sent on earth to spy on the rebels when homeworld first heard of it and wanted to see how much of a threat they actually were. (They sent a pearl because you can always get a new one on homeworld) Tahir saw the kindness rose gave to the 4 (pearl, garnet, amethysts and bismuth) and decided she wanted to be treated that way also because her owner was rough and rather rude. So tahir became part of the original rebels until fast forward to rose faking her own shattering (this mainly why I put the spoiler tag) where tahir connected the dots on who rose actually was. Things like her reputation as a kind healer and the fact she bubbled bismuth for shattering (tahir witnessed that so she was already on edge) didn't make sense and the fact whenever rose was down with them there was nothing from pink diamond (just stuff like that). However in fear of what rose could do to her because she was a diamond, tahir left without another word instead of taking about it with the others. But of course she couldn't go back to homeworld with her being a rebel so instead she started living amongst humans, becoming a pilot (hense the outfit).

Context to the other 2 images:

Those 2 images are stevens first encounter with Tahir. How it would have gone is steven would her curious about the kindergartens back when nobody was telling him anything, so he went by himself when the trio were out on a Misson. That's when he found Tahir breaking down old homeworld machines for parts. Tahir saw stevens very exposed rose quartz gem and was immediately furious. So they fight for a while and cue those two images.

Tahir would not be a lingering threat, after them two images she would've been scared off by garnet and wouldn't really attack. Instead she would probe and question steven about roses actions until she finally believed that he wasn't her. After this point she just strays away from him, avoiding him and the trio until pearl gets to talk to her and they eventually make up. Pearl and tahir make an agreement to be quite about the rose being pink diamond to steven and tahir just becomes part of the main cast.

In future:

In steven universe future we would see tahir playing poker with humans including Greg but instead of chips its just junk from their garages, just living amongst humans as she typically did. Steven would end up going to tahir during his meltdowns after a while of jasper being to hard on him and she'd try and train him abit, but steven breaks a wall in her house and runs off to then train go back to jasper and cue the rest of the stuff thats actually canon

Yes I have thought most stuff out tho few things may contradict some lore, it's almost 6am so I ain't really thinking about everything rn so I apologise if this is poorly written or if some things contradict any lore

Sam - same as Seb. Loves the loud and talkative.

Emily - Crystal girlies. Gale knows crystals can't cure her, but shiny rocks make her feel happy. Emily, on the other hand, will try anything.

Alex - she has tried to fight his dad at one point. Didn't work. But the thought was there. Alex, even though he acts like a jerk and can underestimate Gale sometimes, does respect her trying to better herself slowly. It's a complicated friendship.

She struggles to eat sugary things due to sensory issues and how they affect her (hates the crash after a sugar rush). Spice, on the other hand, big yes.

SU AU lore dump

This is part 2 of me and @lewissilvertree's GIANT Steven Universe dump. The lore edition! Most of the writing was done by Lewis but this is pretty much a timeline from when we first made this AU to now :> Enjoy!

*ahem*

So my OC's name is Vic, she's an Orange Jasper that was a bit overbaked when she came out, kind of like Amethyst. Bob in this AU is Vic's brother, and they fight. ALL THE TIME. I have countless headcannons and rp's to prove it! Anywho, Vic is PAINFULLY insecure about her height and the way she came out. Since she wasn't the most practical at battle, Bob taught her how to fight, and she also turned to books and education, so she's more brains than brawn. She's actually more similar to a Peridot! During the gem war, Vic nearly got cracked and was taken to some sort of fountain to be healed. After that, Bob became a lot more protective over his little sister. She ended up getting limb enhancers and was assigned to look over a planet so YD could colonize it. When Bob learned of this, however, he wanted to stow away on Vic's roaming eye because he didn't want her to go by herself. So he did. YD kinda just didn't care...and that's when they meet Lewis's OC, Eclipse! When Eclipse first emerged, he radiated insane power. The diamonds feared this power and banished Eclipse to a very far planet and it was eventually forgotten about. Until Vic and Bob came along. They were tasked to study the planet and stumbled upon Eclipse. In the AU, Eclipse is a legend, a myth spread about, saying that Eclipse was a threat to the diamonds because he was more powerful than them. Of course Eclipse had no idea since he was long banished when the story was created. When Eclipse met Vic and Bob he was happy since he hasn’t seen a gem in thousands of years on the lonely planet. He followed them around and liked to talk to them. Until one day he heard about yellow diamond and how she feared Eclipse. He wanted to talk to YD and explain that he’s friendly and means no harm! Eventually Bob and Vic gets called by YD and Eclipse was told to stay out of camera range so YD won’t see him. Unfortunately he is spotted and YD commands Bob and Vic to poof Eclipse and take him to Homeworld for "experimentation". (But really, YD wanted to shatter him) Vic poofs Eclipse, feeling terrible about it. They take Eclipses gem and went back to homeworld. They’d go to the lab and drop Eclipse off, but he started to break out of the bubble that Vic bubbled him in. Bob and Vic panic and get called into YD's palace. She wanted to see Eclipses gem for herself Bob and Vic didn’t want to but then Eclipse finally breaks out of the bubble in a giant poof of steam. YD is shocked by this as Eclipse processes what and where he is. He's happy to see YD and goes to try and talk to her but she's is fearful and the two start to argue. Eventually, Bob and Vic decided they needed to fuse to save Eclipse. Vic says something to YD and she instantly poofs Vic as a result which terrifies Bob and triggers Eclipse and poofs YD. Everyone being terrified they go and attack the group. Bob held Vic’s gem and fled with Eclipse. They triedto work a pod to escape but didnt know how because that's Vic's specialty. Luckily she reforms in time to work the ship and they escape. They try to de-stress in the ship as it traveled. Vic has the idea to join the Crystal Gems on Earth once everything has died down (Bob isn't very fond of that idea but comes along) before they crash land onto the beach in Beach City knocking them all out. Bob and Vic see that Eclipse ripped off the ships door, and found him just laying there unconscious in the sand. The siblings meet the Crystal Gems and Eclipse wakes up. Bob went inside to try and fix the ship but he kinda doesn’t know how to fix it. So Vic goes in and sees what dumb things he did and goes to repair the ship. But she can’t, it’s too wrecked. Fast forward to Future era, everyone has a new look and Eclipse and Bob are boyfriends. The gang is supposed to meet Garnet at Fish Stew Pizza, but because Bob led the way, they're lost. Then a lapis named Astrid comes along and asks if they need help. Some part in Vic instantly took a liking to Astrid, but Bob? The exact opposite. The reason? Because Vic might be growing up and he can't handle it. (1/2)
