When I went to get my fish I saw a huge tank of tiny little fish and I was like AWWWW and my dad was like ……..no… those fish are food for the other fish :/ I felt sick ugh

Oh yeeeaahh the feeders yeah also goldfish, goldfish btw need like the biggest huge-ass tanks and a filter and all the stops if you’re gonna keep them as pets and because they’re like the classic stereotypical pet fish we had like 30 in one tank and people always came in with like 4-year-olds wanting a low maintenance fish they could keep in a bowl and i had to explain like 18 times “no it’s gonna die in a week and your kid’s gonna be traumatized and you’re gonna come back mad as shit and it’s not gonna be our fault cause i’m warning you right now it’s gonna die in a week” i mean after the 8th time or so of giving that spiel can you really blame me for drinking on the job

Oh no i honestly think of all the ethically unconscionable exotic pets, fish are the worst even worse than birds which i also loathe being kept as pets i worked at PetSmart all right the conditions the fish are kept in are fucking gruesome my job description involved scooping corpses out of the tanks each day
