**Breathes and counts to ten**

This is the kind of story you read in perpetuity. You get to the end, and you just click ‘Chapter one’ to start over again. You don’t want to miss anything. Any turn of phrase, any act that seemed so small at first. You find yourself stopping in the middle of a paragraph to just..I don’t know, just feel what happened. You’ll also find that you don’t want to leave these characters. I both love and hate when that happens.

Ugh. Nothing I’ll say here will come close to how good this story is. You should just read it. It’s not a sappy tear-jerker but you’re going to cry, so full disclosure.

I need to pull myself together. Go read it, and you can curse me later.

I agree so much with your problems with the S3 premiere. Part of the Sherlock problem has always been a very stunted and childish view of Sherlock himself. I have accepted this because I assumed Sherlock was telling the BEGINNING of his story, his transition from Sherlock to Holmes, in a way. To where he may not always CARE, but at least he learns how he needs to behave, how he should interact with people. And that episode seemed--SEEMED--like it was on track. But then he did that THING...

... and it was like... *SIIIIIGH* All I could think of was, in the book, how Sherlock had cupped John's cheek and told him "I had no idea it would affect you so." Like. How hard is that? To acknowledge his own tragic misunderstanding and how he will try to be better at it? I JUST? *EVEN BIGGER SIGH* I'm so sorry it upset you as much as it did. Totally understandable. And as always, I will tag any Sherlock posts so you can TS them :). LOVE YOU.
