Clark is literally just minding his business! Just walking down the hall, after an elevator interview with Luthor! And baby Dick Grayson immediately just fucking CLOCKS HIM as different. Didn't even see him rescue anyone! No amazing feats of strength! No super speed! No weird coincidences! Just Clark Kent walking down a hallway and Dick Grayson is immediately ALL THE HELL OVER HIM and he's RIGHT. And he knows when someone is cheating, he may not know how yet (alien with x-ray vision, to be fair, is a bit out there for his current level of experience), but that kid KNOWS WHEN SOMEONE IS CHEATING. Also, absolutely PHENOMENAL that, while Bruce apparently leaves Dick in the LEXCORP KIDZ-ZONE while he's busy, I'm sure Dick loved that, even at thirteen years old.

Superman: American Alien is good for many reasons but also because bruce and clarks first meeting is hilarious

American Alien

I don't think I need to preface this one, it's obviously Superman. We even have a very similar monster concocted by Luthor in Secret Origin, the Parasite.

Now this one gives Superman a little bit of a carefree personality at first, I like how he's trying to break away and do fun things like pretending to be Bruce Wayne and just plain out using heat vision in front of his friends. It shows that sometimes he just couldn't help it. Then it proposes Luthor to have a sort of draw being one of the big three billionaires, the others being Oliver Queen (Green Arrow) and as I mentioned, Bruce Wayne. It gives him something to bat against which they play with directly with Bruce and Clark, Dick saying that Batman resembles fear but fear alone isn't enough, that he needs a counteract, that being Hope.

Superman even goes so far as to use remnants of the Batman suit he tore up to make a semi-40s looking bomber outfit, but keep in mind this in modern because he talks about the internet and stuff.

At first glance, I was just like "Yeah, whatever, it's a wip." but I think it grew on me over time, Lois even points out that he's wearing a bulletproof vest just to throw people off and not make his powers so obvious.

Speaking of Lois, remember when I said Clark pretended to be Bruce? Well that gave him certain amenities aka journalistic privileges peaking her interest. I think this is fine for the story, especially since it's a short run but I've been reading a lot of comics where he doesn't get to downplay himself, he's just immediately given status, therefore winning it with Lois off the bat. But it's the relationship that peaks my interest, because of that hope thing, he mentions that to Lois and when he starts to doubt that he's doing the right thing with all the damage he's causing, Lois says that she wants to believe his theory that Superman is just a good samaritan, Clark gave her the reason to like Superman, he had an effect on her outlook on Superman and she returned it right back for him.

The rest isn't as connected, just fun little stories, doesn't feel like much of an ending but it is what it is.
