This is a long post but I’m fucking pissed.

It actually sucks to see that most of the notes under posts from Americans begging to know if other countries are seeing the US’s active steady approach to fascism is just “Wow America get your shit together before this happens in MY country”

Because actually what the fuck. We have made it so fucking clear that we are TRYING. The American people have actively been pushing and fighting for change LONG before Trump even finished his FIRST term. We have been begging for people to see and understand how corrupt this system is. Our states are controlled by gerrymandering, our elected officials do not do the bare minimum of their job responsibilities and do not listen to us (many of them don’t even manage or fully staff their phone lines!!!), and despite begging for better gun control for fucking years, the NRA is shoving misinformation down people’s throats and subsequently hiding any real facts!

(Statistically, most Americans want better gun control, it has been proven in biannual studies done by the John Hopkins Institute for Public Health!!! But instead of working with the facts, listening to the people, and doing their damn jobs, our elected officials took down an app because they didn’t like that they and their reputations were being exposed for their corruption! All this under the guise of “save the children” but when the children are begging to be saved suddenly a piece of paper written 200+ years ago means more than the elementary school down the street. )

This idea that Americans are in control or at fault for what happens in our country needs to stop. That is LITERALLY how fascism works! The people do not have the ability to stop this. The entire world watched as millions of Americans mobilized to try to educate and protest and fight for a different tomorrow, but because the world’s richest people decided a fascist’s pocket was better than a black woman’s, the ENTIRE country is suffering.

Suicide prevention call centers had calls go up in frequency within the same day he was inaugurated. This is more than just a “haha america get your shit together.” We are in CRISIS. Institutions for genocide prevention have marked the united states with red flags!!!

I’m so glad the creeping rush of fascism hasn’t gotten to you guys yet, but stop acting like this is just a fire we started and are alone in being able to control. Trump himself said that Elon helped him get votes. This system was set up to benefit the wealthy to begin with, and on top of that America has one of the leading records for lack of education. This man plans on removing the department of education while literacy rates are at an all time low and you guys are out here really thinking that the common man can just “turn this around”???? Are you fucking serious???
