bronwyn ( @morteuse ) asked what plants i associate with the muses so here's a list of some, along with reasonings (only the ones i have actually thought through). might get long, so i will throw it under the cut:

alice: forget-me-nots. it is mostly the name; alice has a deep set fear of being forgotten or abandoned. she needs her work to leave a lasting impact after she's gone and done with it because otherwise all the things she had to go through to achieve them were a waste of time. it's not enough to be good, it's about being remembered. forget-me-nots are also associated with promises, fidelity, and true love, which are kind of appropriate for her too when you consider The Lore. i could go on but we have places to be, other muses to talk about, and i need to stop playing favourites with her all the time.

amelie: white lilies because they're often associated with chinese funerals. i believe in western cultures, they're more of a symbol for purity, but in chinese culture, they're not typically used outside of funeral arrangements because they can carry an aura of death or afterlife. they're sometimes seen as omens for mortality and life's fragility and a vase of wilting white lilies can signify upcoming illness or death.

eleanor: milkweed, for so many reasons. apparently if you have a dream pillow and you fill it with the little fluffy bits that grow off milkweed, it will cause the user to dream of fae. (ellie is based off the folklore of changelings, which were believed to be malicious fairies.) it's been used for its healing qualities, but can be poisonous if used incorrectly. something something about there being a fine line between healing and poisonous. it's also associated with the moon and the earth and if there is one thing most of you know about me, it's that i love symbolism, in case this whole post didn't make it obvious.

gus: i initially wanted to say morning glories would be his plant, but then i remembered that moonflowers are closely related and they felt more fitting! moonflowers bloom only at night, so they tend to be associated with dreams and there's been scientific studies that suggest they are influenced by the phases of the moon. they have very powerful medicinal properties (anti-inflammatory, pain relief, and possibly antidepressants, to name a few), which ties into gus and his whole job — entering dreams with the intent to heal or provide answers for others.

kate: the obvious answer would be dandelions, which we know she uses to forecast wind direction, but i'm more inclined to associate her with cardabelles — they've been used in areas of southwest france for centuries to predict weather. it's very durable against strong winds due to its structure, but it also reacts differently to certain weathers. it will unfurl its blooms in sunlight, but when humidity increases before rainfall, it will close up, indicating that it's time to take shelter. additionally, they're often hung on doors as good luck charms and said to ward off evil spirits.

i won't list every character, partly because i haven't thought out every single one (YET — i will eventually), but these are my favourites that i have come up with. i love symbolism and hidden meanings, etc etc.

A humongous, house shaking rumble emanated, followed closely by an even bigger blast of gas from the colossal woman herself, cake fuelling the blast to such high octaves! BigCutie Amelie giggled in response, as Lena shovelled more cake into her like she was a furnace for it.

"I am very well, as always. Thank you for asking, anon~ I am always happy to see my fans!" She replied in-between mouthfuls of rich red velvet cake.

Tera Fest Booth

The Cozy Tea Café has set up a stall for the Tera Festival. With their adorable mug logo on top of the building, some potted flowers set up around building, and with the menu hung upon the front side of the booth you could tell that they were open and ready for business. Inside the glass display cases you can see various cookies, cupcakes, and slices of cake. The cupcakes have those cute plastic rings in the shape of the various Tera type symbols in them and it looks like the cookies are shaped like those symbols too. Near the back you could make out some iced tea dispensers for if you desired a cool drink. The menu simply holds the names of every Pokémon type upon it, you may ask the person in the front the specific flavor if you so desire.

The menu lists all the Pokémon types as the flavor of whatever food you want. Here's what each types flavor is.

Ghost = Blackberry

Fairy = Strawberry

Fire = Cinnamon

Grass = Matcha

Poison = Gooseberry- This cupcake will be a filled one so you get lots of sour flavor

Dragon = Dragon fruit

Water = Blueberry

Steel = Pistachio

Psychic = Lavender

Electric = Lemon

Flying = Kiwi

Dark = Chocolate

Fighting = Apple

Rock = Saffron

Ground = Rose

Ice = Mint

Bug = Honeysuckle

Normal = Vanilla

There are three different iced teas to choose from. Green, Black, and Peach. There is also sugar packets available to use if you want to make your tea sweet.

Ameliance had not been supposed to be home. 

She should have been in the Studium, and given the speed of any and all kinds of paperwork in Sharlayan, she should have been there all morning. It should have been early enough, moreover, that Fourchenault should not have been missed, he’d thought. All he’d needed to do was to oversee one of the operations usually in charge of Pashtarot, and ensure all ran smoothly -learn enough that he could maybe do something about it, later- and it had not taken him so long.

He had been discovered, however, by one with the Echo. By a Warrior of Light. 

Emmerololth stumbled, as the Rift closed behind him, as blood seeped through his tunic and he knelt over the immaculate floors of his study, dragging a shelf down with him. No servant was allowed access there, and he should have been alone, he thought, as the sigil flared and his nouliths wove their song, as he used the magic of the undying to try to mend the flesh of his body. 

He heaved, pain and magic weaving seamlessly in a song of agony, and when he found himself able to breathe he took of the mask and threw it on the floor, unable to look through it any longer, the sigil an angry crimson until at last he could move without screaming, until the sigil too was gone and he sat, the sinister tunics of an overlord hiding most of the stains as he sat down and tried to get his bearings again. 

It was then and only then that Fourchenault looked up, by sheer chance, and there he saw Ameliance.

general facial expression: usually known to be dimply, her facial expressions these days are a stark contrast. frowns and focused brows are more frequent than not. however, if one works hard enough or if she is comfortable with an individual, a smirk or genuine grin will appear. default body language: defensive. preferring to keep her hands to herself, hands are often in pockets or in crossed arms. general movements: quick strides, bad habits of knuckle cracking and folding her hands behind her back as if she’s standing at rest.
