Was this the fifth or tenth time today? Lynn asked herself mentally as she once more spilled her guts into a bucket. All the while, Sam patted her back. He occasionally whispered soothing sentiments, letting her know he was there for her. 

Lynn inhaled deeply after the last amount of contents from her stomach escaped her mouth, the aroma pungent as she grimaced and pulled herself away. The stench alone made her want to throw up once more. Whatever she had been eating, Lynn vowed to never have again after this moment. 

“You decent?” Sam asked with a small smile, trying to lighten the mood as Lynn nodded. He gently rubbed her shoulders, then got up from his knees and extended an arm to help Lynn get on her feet. 

“How much further until we get to that bunker you talked about?” Lynn asked, using a small rag to wipe away at the corners of her mouth. She could still feel the bile on her face and shuddered. 

“Another hour. Do you want me to carry you?” Sam offered, looking over Lynn with concern. 

Lynn shook her head, giving a small smile. “If I had you do everything for me, I wouldn’t be me.” 

“That’s fair.” Sam shrugged. “My offer stands though, should you need it.”

Lynn nodded and grabbed her belongings she had tossed before throwing up, making sure she was situated for the rest of their journey. After Sam defeated extinction and cut his ties with the UCA, it was just him, Lynn and Lou for now. Sam was carrying Lou in a makeshift baby pack on his front. The little one let out a yawn, stretching her arms before snuggling into the material to get more sleep. The action made Sam smile. He found it cute, but Lou’s mannerisms got the gears in his mind turning especially when it came to Lynn being sick. 

Sam furrowed his brows the longer he dwelled on it, clearing his throat to get Lynn’s attention. 

“Lynn.”

“Hm?”

“Do you think you might be pregnant?” Sam asked. He was to the point, not one to beat around the bush. His statement made Lynn freeze as she swallowed, her eyes glancing around the grass by her feet as she rose up with her belongings and looked his way. 

“I don’t think so--but--” Lynn bit her bottom lip. “Sam, what are we gonna do if that’s the case?”

“We’ll deal with it. One step at a time. It’s not my first rodeo in that department.” He reassured her, but there was a sadness in Sam’s tone that had Lynn worried for him. She knew all too well what happened to his last family. The fear was more than likely eating away at him. 

Lynn carefully approached Sam, pulling him into a gentle embrace as he returned the affection. He made sure Lou wasn’t getting squished between their bodies while he held Lynn close. Sam trembled, letting out a breath he had been suppressing for Lynn’s sake. 

“It won’t be like before, I promise.” Lynn whispered. 

“I’m gonna hold you to that.”

omg i kind of love this ask and was super excited to try to answer it ? i thought it was a lot of fun, so if you want to send in more asks like this i’d definitely be down to answer them ! these are some tv characters that i think give off the same ~vibes~ of the muses, so here goes !

muse a is definitely most like spencer hastings, and i see muse b as a serena van der woodsen type. i really see muse c as someone like chuck bass, and muse d is a lot like troy bolton or mckay from euphoria. muse f is jess mariano and i think muse g would be closest to alex from modern family. muse h reminds me a lot of kimmy schmidt, and muse i is amelie from the movie amelie (sorry, i cheated on this one!) muse j is josie from riverdale, muse k reminds me of carrie bradshaw from sex and the city, and muse l is definitely toby from pll.

MISUNDERSTOOD VILLIAN.

prepare for an onslaught of both the most dehumanizing and hateful takes, and flood of thirst comments. you are chronically misunderstood. whether or not you're actually evil is debatable. you may be acting out for revenge, to defend someone you love, or even just to protect yourself. you're a pretty jaded person. you don't trust or even really like most people. maybe you did at one point. but that part of you is gone, and you don't go a single day without grieving it. you think a lot about what your life could have been. you're stuck in the past. you're angry and maybe you don't even want to be, but this is the only way you can see to survive. you're open, but less in a trusting way and more like a wound. you don't like to let people see you, but the hurt spills out of you before you can stop it. you're impulsive, even as you try hard to plan and prepare. maybe someday your side of the story will finally be heard. until then, you can convince yourself that being hated is safer anyway.

why do you hurt?

BECAUSE YOU HAVE MADE MISTAKES YOU CANNOT SWALLOW.

mistakes come back to you like echoes in an empty cave. you have been trying since you started but does trying count? is trying good enough? every night it visits you, the pain that you have caused with your clumsy hands and venom-tongue. life careens onward, onward, with the moon hung in the sky and the sun the day after, but you walk backwards on this path so you can keep sight of what you did. the destruction still feels fresh. it still feels like fire, where you burned them. fire is supposed to be warm. it burned them, and it will swallow you. blow out the candle. let it rest. some things are better left behind in the dark.
