Regarding future season structure, I do see the show moving away from a narrated format after TVL but I do hope we get some flashbacks of other characters (not full seasons) bc I do hope we get some TVA moments and if they are doing past DM🤞. And Marius.. hate him or love him he is an interesting character.

I know they keep calling S3 TVL and I might be wrong but I got the sense that they are doing TVL/QOTD at the same time with TVL as the focus for S3. Tbh I always thought of both books like a duology bc they go together so well.

I'm torn on TVL being one or two seasons bc I do think there will be some pushback if past Lestat takes up more than 50% of the season. I am not downplaying Lestat's popularity but if Louis is missing for more than 50% of the season? Yeah won't be a good look. I also don't really see the show going back and showing too many previously established scenes from Lestat's pov in Nola.

So imo it makes sense to me to stretch TVL to two seasons but to also do QOTD as the current story going on at the same time.

Either way I'm beyond excited bc I love both books.

Arguably, I think they have already started on QotD (in combination with Amel, imho). Because we have the ever increasing vampire population, the "great conversion". "Those who must be kept" have been named, several times, the importance of the blood of Akasha has been pointed out.

TVL and QotD were always a story that went together, and I am not sure how much episodes they will give us, but I do think TVL will end on the show with the same cliffhanger the book does: namely Akasha coming in and kidnapping Lestat right after the (a) last? concert - and worse here, I think it will be from Louis' arms.

S3 will not contradict or reshow all of S1&2. TVL doesn't do that either. And the season 3 press release has been clear:

“In season three, resentful of the perfunctory portrayal in the trashy bestseller ‘Interview With The Vampire,’ the Vampire Lestat sets his story straight in a way only the Vampire Lestat can—by starting a band and going on tour. Gabrielle. Nicholas. Magnus. Marius. Those Who Must Be Kept. They join Louis, Armand, Molloy, Sam, Raglan, Fareed and others we can’t tell you about yet on a sexy pilgrimage across space, time and trauma.”

There will be Louis. Of course?! The show is built on Loustat. But we are not on IWTV anymore. This has also been stated:

"Sam worked really hard for two years as a supporting actor, and I think Jacob is very excited to do the same thing for him, and put Sam front and center," Jones tells EW. "We've just scratched the surface with Sam, who's an incredible actor."

To repeat in what I said in my recent PSA (reblog): I don't care about actual screentime percentage. Or top billing, or whatever. They said they would keep Jacob and they better(!).

IWTV was Louis' story, narrated by him. TVL, QotD, TtotBT are all narrated by Lestat (for the most part). That will reflect, but I also think that there is no way we will not have a LOT of Louis in the story.

Porcellio scaber 'dark orange' project update

The orange did indeed prove out! I've separated the f2 generation into their het and homo groups. I lost the paper I was keeping count on, but I remember the ratio being consistent with my 50/50 expectation.

Here they are! My camera really wanted to enhance the orange. The video still on the right is more accurate.

Their coloration is noticeably grainy and looks darker than regular 'orange' to me, but I might be imagining things. There's not too much variation.

Dark Orange X Spanish Orange

Now HERE'S where it gets interesting! The 'Dark Orange' X 'Spanish Orange' cross was a little test breeding meant to verify whether the same recessive amelanism gene was responsible for the orange color in both morphs. I expected to see either all grey (meaning they were separate genes) or all orange (meaning they were the same). What I didn't expect to see was three distinct phenotypes.

There's the classic orange that I expected, a browner/darker orange, and three greys for some reason.

So YES! The classic recessive amel gene is responsible for the orange in 'dark orange'.

But did the 'dark' gene just prove out? Is it a dominant or co-dominant allele? Idk! I have to wait until the homozygous f2s are bigger to see if all or any of them share this trait. Their having grainy coloration and being mixed ages makes it frustratingly difficult to tell at this stage.

I attribute the even coloration of this test cross to the 'Spanish Orange' side of the family, since pure Spanish Orange stock is known for its smooth coloration.

Now to address the greys. Yeah, I don't know what happened here. The mother has been isolated with the progenitor in a harem setup since way before she was sexually mature. The only thing I can think is that one of the f2 sons managed to breed with her before I removed them. I'm not sure how that's possible as I removed them when they were absolutely tiny but it's the most likely explanation I can think of. I've separated the three greys into their own bin for now. Maybe the answers will be further down the road.

Unfortunately, I can't find the original dark orange male who started all this. I'm not sure if he passed away or if he somehow eluded me when I sifted. Wherever he is... o7

Like I'll see something like idk 50% PH albino and what does that MEAN I've tried to look it up but have found nothing, possibly because I'm searching the wrong terms but who knows.

PH means "possibly heterozygous," and the percentage is about how possible the heterozygous-ness is.

This comes up when you have one or both parent snakes who are known to be heterozygous for a recessive trait, but it's not certain whether or not their offspring are het since it's not visible. This isn't an arbitrary number nor a guarantee of genetics, it's just a statistical probability that the snake is carrying that gene.

For example, let's say you are breeding two wild-type corn snakes and one is het for the recessive Amelanistic gene. The babies will have a 50/50 chance of inheriting the Amel gene, but they would also be het since they can only get one copy of the trait from the one parent who carries it. Since you can't see a heterozygous recessive trait, all of the babies would be listed as 50% possibly heterozygous for Amelanism, or 50% PH Amel.

If both parents are het for Amel and neither are homozygous, statistically about 1/4 of the babies would be homozygous visual Amel, 2/4 would be heterozygous Amel wild-types, and 1/4 would be of the babies would be wild-types with no heterozygous traits at all. Percentage-wise, the wild-type babies would be 66.667% PH Amel.

Of course, nature doesn't exactly adhere to statistics, so any time you see "PH" consider it a possible bonus or advisement, but not a guarantee of genetics.

Leonarda Amell will be 50+ years old by the time of DATV. I love her cursed timeline so much.

She is married to the divine Victoria herself but she was once in love with the mage who rebelled against the chantry and almost destroyed the ferelden circle of magi. The mage who killed the grand cleric of Kirkwall was her fwb and childhood friend. She allowed him to desert from the wardens for old times sake. Her sister named her son after the said fwb who also happened to marry her cousin. They have a daughter who looks uncomfortably like her while she won't be able to have children due to the warden taint and her age. Her cousin, the champion of Kirkwall, avoids her because she looks like his dead mother. In another timeline she died during Uldread's rebellion and that's why Anders dies inside every time he looks at his own daughter. His last conversation with Leonarda before her death was her calling him a dickhead with moral backbone of a chocolate eclair. She almost broke up with the future divine because she didn't vibe with Justinia's desire to force the mages back into the circles. She felt bad for Leliana losing her mentor figure but at the same time was really glad the old bitch finally died. Her life literally can't become worse than it already is. Her only friend was left to die in the fade. She can't function without vodka. She's a very devoted andrastean and a blood mage. I think the Maker hates her personally.

Hey by the way, what basically inspired me to do my in character journal for Stellan (and over all just a lot of my choices for him) was the fic Accursed Ones of AO3.

It’s Dragon Age Awakening and Dragon Age 2 from Anders’ perspective with accompanying side stories from other characters perspectives. It’s extremely good and interesting (though I don’t agree with all the headcanons and ships). Either way, it inspired me a lot, specifically their Warden Amell. Plus throughout the story, Amell has a journal and a grimiore which we see bits and pieces of, which helped me figure out somewhat what I wanted to do for the journal.

I greatly recommend it, but know that I cried for like 20 chapters straight (30-50 I believe) and it’s still being updated. Fantastic read so far though.

NICKNAME: Hawke, of course - the firstborn can take dibs on the family surname. And then Gideon, since 1. that's how most people misspell his actual name and 2. Varric uses it in his stories (it's “more suited for the hero”). He doesn't mind.

GENDER: Male, although he takes it easy. In a modern AU he would be the Hakwe sibling most likely to experiment with gender presentation - and in every universe he just knows he'd look good in a dress/corset.

ORIENTATION: Very queer - preference for women, but willing to experiment for the sake of it, if she fancies so. In another world, her and Gwydion would be the monsterfuckers, let’s be real.

50 Questions for Rook: Part 1

I decided to start going through these myself. This'll be quite the series since I've got 3 Rooks I want to cover, but it'll be fun regardless. Feel free to still send in asks if there's one in particular you want to know sooner than I would get to it, and who you want to know about.

A couple establishing things that are related to headcanons for them.

Amell and Eriana travel together and face the gods side by side.

Coraline is a separate timeline with some extra flavor added to the Mourn Watch Rook background.

With that out of the way let's take on questions 1-3.

1. How old is Rook?

2. How did Rook get the nickname? What do they think of it?

Amell Thorne

Amell has the nickname Rook, provided by Varric of course. After watching her charge forward to lead her fellow wardens in collapsing that deep roads tunnel, he knew he'd found his ace against Solas. He met up with her in a tavern afterward and when he asked her to join for a game of wicked grace she remarked having a preference for strategy games. He laughed when he saw a chessboard among her belongings. She finds the nickname funny, at first wondering if he chose it since she won their first game using that particular piece.

Eriana Ingellvar

Eriana's nickname is Bishop. This one came from Amell rather than Varric. When their chase for Solas took them into Nevarra City they heard bits and pieces of the War of Banners and thinking it could be a consequence of Solas' meddling went to investigate. Instead, they found Eriana and how she commanded a small force of undead to take out the leadership, bringing a swift end to the undead civil war. They later found her a bit confused and wandering around Nevarra city, when asked why she did what she did she would answer "If I didn't do something now, a lot more undead and living would have been lost." After agreeing, hesitantly, to travel with them Amell thought she should have a nickname too, and suggested Bishop. Varric was amused by the chess set team he'd acquired. Eriana finds it a bit silly but it made them happy so she goes along with it, more concerned with all the new things she's seeing in the world over a name.

Coraline Ingellvar

Coraline uses Rook, though very rarely. Varric had started using it since she was a bit stiff and straightforward in conversation and strategy when they met. After traveling for a while though Varric wonders if he should have done with something else since she has become more of a wild card the longer they've been away from Nevarra. Primarily it's just Varric who calls her Rook, she introduces herself as Coraline to new people.

3. What was Rook’s life before their faction?

Amell Thorne

Amell grew up in a comfortable home in Montsimmard. Her father is an architect while her mother works as the knight captain within the city's circle. Amell was well-educated as a child and like her parents devout to the maker, hoping to follow her mother's line of work in serving the chantry. Her parents and tutors would describe her as a perfect child and a gift from the maker. Amell for her part was proud to make her parents happy in this way and strived to continue that. Much to her father's chagrin Amell wished to take up arms as a templar rather than the safer work as a chantry sister. As a recruit, Amell was dedicated to her studies and showed promise as a model templar. Throughout this, Amell was happy with her choices and proud of her work. She was excited to follow in her mother's footsteps and ready to defend Thedas from the growing unrest following the Kirkwall incident. And then everything goes wrong accompanying a templar squad to track down an apostate who thought a mineshaft would be a good hiding space.

Eriana Ingellvar

After being found by the Mourn Watch as an infant Eriana was cared for by the order until she was a little older and her magic manifested. After some debate she was sent to the Cumberland Circle, thinking it would be best for her to learn magic among other apprentices. Eriana did ok in the circle, she behaved well enough but found she didn't get along as well with her fellow mages. She also missed the presence of wisps and lack of templars that she'd seen within the necropolis. All the time she was there she was curious about the Mourn Watch and constantly asked about their work and if she'd be able to go back once she'd passed her harrowing. When she was a young teen she got the chance to return. Following the rest of the Circles of Magi, the Cumberland Circle dissolved and Eriana took the first chance to make her way back to the Mourn Watch. Despite having not completed her harrowing yet they welcomed her back and continued her training where the circle had left off.

Coraline Ingellvar

Technically Coraline begins with her faction. For a time several Mourn Watchers noticed a particular wisp had been sighted throughout the necropolis. They could interact with the wisp but it never listened to them when they would try to guide it to a skeletal body. It never seemed malicious either, just very free-spirited and curious. So they felt it was fine to leave as is. Eventually, they noticed that the wisp hadn't been spotted for a short while which was unusual for it, at the same time a few of the undead guards had gone missing. After conducting a search the missing guards were eventually tracked down guarding one of the old family mausoleums that hadn't been of import for quite some time. It took some convincing before the watchers were let through and what they found was far from what was expected. Resting peacefully in a makeshift bed was a small infant, fast asleep and being watched over by more of the skeletal guard. Checking over the child she was... fine... for the most part. When checking over her though the watchers sensed a familiar presence. At the same time, the last records of the Ingellvar family were retrieved. The records showed the last members of the family had died tragically in a fire. Madeline Ingellvar, Tobias Ingellvar, and their infant daughter who'd only been born a few days prior.

Ok and there we go, hopefully these little starts to them are interesting. I don't know how many questions I'll cover each part but I do want to get through all of them, even including the sequel set so... we've got a lot of fun things to cover.

Ayrıca gündüz-gece olması, mevsimler, yağmurlar, karlar v.s. meydana gelen tüm olaylar bize bir takım hakikatleri anlatmaktadırlar. Kişi kabiliyeti ölçüsünde bunlardan değişik ilâhî mesajlar alır.

Buna göre gördüğümüz her şey mesajı alabilen için bir hidâyet sebebidir.

What are your thoughts on the new fantastic 4 casting and Stephen Amell getting a role in Suits:LA ? I honestly thought we would not see him on our screen at least for a while after what he did during the strike.

I haven't seen the OG Suits but a lawyer show getting celebrities out of trouble seems right up Stephen's alley. Going by the description, this sounds like LA Law 2.0, a popular lawyer show from the 80s that was for people too embarrassed to watch actual daytime soap operas.

Bonus if Prince Harry's wife makes an appearance!

I hope I'm proven wrong with Pedro's casting in Fantastic Four. My main beef is he's almost 50 and I wanted the FF family to be in the 20s - 30s range. Making Mr. Fantastic 50 years old could mean there are a lot of stories we’ll potentially miss out on. And since it usually takes 10+ years for a trilogy, we're looking at Reed Richards in his 60s by the time it is all done. Like most, I was hoping for a younger actor that could play the role for years to come.

On the plus side, Reed Richards is a devoted dad dude and Marvel cast the most dad archetype actor for the role, so there's that.

Having seen Vanassa Kirby in The Crown and the Fast and Furious spinoff, I think she has the moxy and vulnerability to be Sue Storm, but Jessica Alba will always be my Sue Storm (the first movie, not its sequel).

Motion, roots and bling for Immy, Sinag and Amihan!

Hello! Thank you so much <3

motion: How does your OC move? How does their clothing help or hinder their range of motion? Are they flexible, coordinated, clumsy?

Immy - When comfortable (with her clan, around friends & loved ones), Immy is very bubbly and bouncy with movements. She wears a lot of skirts and dresses, and it's usually the type with twirly skirts. When she's in an environment where she's uncomfortable or out of place, she tends to be reserved: hands folded together, nervously stimming by tapping her foot. Her demeanor is quiet, shier, and tries to make herself look smaller.

Sinag - She is very extroverted and enjoys attention, and because of her tall stature, it's not hard for her to get it. Sinag moves with a lot of confidence with an easygoing air. Though, for the most part, it's guarded nonchalance, she doesn't want people to feel or see her weak spots. She tends to wear sleek and simple clothes: leather trousers, worn boots and tunics for easy movement. She may be a mage, but she knows how to fight with her hands, she'd prefer not to have anything extra on her to hinder movements.

(This is gonna get long so rest under the cut!)

Amihan - She is very stand-offish, often has a resting bitch face and never seems relaxed. Amihan is uncomfortable almost all the time unless she's alone or with people she trusts (she trusts very few), and she's stiff almost - like she's perpetually waiting for someone to yell at her for doing something wrong. Even out of the Circle, she's most comfortable in long robes (though not always necessarily mage robes). She likes long skirts and sleeves, preferably layered as she gets cold easily, and it also serves as a barrier somewhat, to keep her closed in.

Immy - answered here :)

Sinag - Growing up in a farm, younger Sinag always just wore whatever was comfortable, warm and easy to move in. Even as she got older and developed her own style, she will always choose something that's easy to move in. After moving to Kirkwall and finally having the means to get clothes she wants, Sinag prefers sleek and simple clothing. She also prefers blue, despite the whole Amell red thing (I hc that the robe she wears as casual wear is blue, maybe I'll mod it one of these days)

For formalwear, while she still prefer's sleek silhouettes, she likes bold blue colors and eye-catching elements. A bit more opulent than her casual wear, but she figures it's for "fancy" occasions, so why not go all out lol. Again, these aren't really historically accurate either.

Modern setting Sinag loves athleisure, denim, and a nice leather jacket. Cool & casual looks for every day wear, but she can clean up pretty nicely. She loves a nice, sexy silhouette, especially ones that show off her height :)

Amihan - The best way to describe casual wear for Amihan would be...mage robe adjacent? (lol). She likes trumpet sleeves and long skirts, and unlike Sinag, she reps the Amell red. After she left the Circle, she went to a seamstress and was like "Can you make it really long and sort of feel like a mage robe?" She's a creature of habit and likes comfort. I also like her in 1400s style Renaissance dresses, I especially like the empire waist silhouette on her. I imagine she would wear those to formal events. She also likes velvet.

For modern settings, Amihan still really likes long skirts. Best way to describe that style would be a mix of artsy and dark academia. Her color scheme is very autumn too - red and mustard yellow. Her go-to is a sweater and a long skirt, or a turtleneck top and a cardigan. For formal wear, I love putting her in vintage silhouettes like 40s and 50's, I think she looks lovely in it ^_^

bling: What jewelry does your OC wear? Does it have any meaning?

Immy - Her most important piece of jewelry is Cullen's lucky coin on a silver chain <3 It's her comfort object. She also wears a braided leather bracelet with glass beads that her brother made for her! I don't have visuals of it at the moment, but I should probably draw it one day.

In general, outside of that, Immy adores pearls and gold jewerly. She especially loves jewerly with floral and/or sun motif. Immy also likes being decked out in it during special occassions and will layer necklaces and adorn her hair with pearls (like Lizzie in P&P 2005 hehe)

Modern setting Immy LOVES cute jewelry. Fun earrings with strawberries, teddy bears, and hearts

Sinag - She loves BOLD jewelry, chunky chains and gems. Think statement pieces - especially with earrings. Sinag also has multiple piercings in her ear and she likes it studded with gems. She prefers silver jewelry, she likes the icy look of it as she's a frost mage.

She also loves those ornate combs

Modern setting Sinag wears chokers! She has similar types of piercings in a modern setting as well, and she likes wearing stacked earrings.

Amihan - Doesn't wear jewelry. She doesn't like any lol, it's a sensory thing. Modern setting Amihan will wear a srunchie around her wrist at most.

Do you think the clutch could have two fathers, retained sperm and meteorite? Thats where my mind went...

Hey friend!

That thought *definitely* crossed my mind, too! I ran the numbers on it to see if that was a reasonable hypothesis. After looking at the stats, though, I think it's pretty unlikely that Snikki retained any sperm from 2022. I'll show you how I came to that conclusion:

Last year's clutch from Snikki was with Chammers, and Snikki double-clutched that year. Her first clutch (SC22) was twelve eggs and the second clutch two months later (SC22B) was one good egg and five slugs. The sheer number of infertile slugs last year in SC22B gives me pause that any sperm could have been retained past that clutch.

Chammers is Anery het Amel, Hypo, and Lavender which is going to result in similar morphs to babies produced by Meteorite, who is Classic Tessera het Anery, Amel, and Hypo. The difference is that Meteorite would produce Tesseras (obvs) and a higher percentage of Classic color morphs than Chammers. Meteorite *can* produce a Ghost baby but the odds were only two in sixty-four and I only got twelve eggs, so statistically I should have seen less than one Ghost baby.

Chammers would be expected to produce about 50% Anery morph combos (Anery/Ghost/Snow), which he did, and Meteorite would be expected to produce only about 25% Anery morph combos, and SM23 actually came in a little lower.

While the morphs present in SM23 could suggest partial retained sperm from Chammers, especially for the statistically possible but improbable Ghost, there's still one thing that's making me think that these are all 100% Meteorite's babies.

Here's the Hypo and Ghost babies from SC22:

For comparison, here are a Hypo and Ghost from SM23:

Notice how much lighter the color is on the SM23 babies, how their pupils are ruby instead of black, and their irises are comparatively darker than the SC22 kiddos despite being lighter overall. All of the Hypos in SM23 are like this, and the Ghost following that same pattern tells me that they're all being subjected to the same Hypo gene expression.

Therefore, I'm pretty sure that SM23 are all full sniblings, and that would mean they're all Meteorite's.
