I’ve been exposed to waaaay too much taylor swift lately, so I went for a walk on the anti tag to cleanse my mind. I’ve seen a lot of commentary about her racism / privilege / climate crimes etc, which is all extremely important ofc, but also, like…

She’s boring. SO boring. The music, the lyrics, the ideas, everything, it’s just the most basic stuff you can imagine, just beige all around.

I love her music so much!

I know it's not the intended meaning of her songs but I listen to so many of her songs because of how much I relate to them as an autistic trans person.

Like strawberry blond, which is actually about her experience as a woc, is so viscerally relatable to me with lyrics like "all I need, darling, is a life in your shape" and just the general feeling of envying this image of a 'normal' girl is so me.

And I know that is not the intention of the song and I don't want to take away from that meaning or her voice on it but it's also so beautiful to me how a lot of 'only I feel that way' feelings are so common across so much of humanity.

Or the song real men, oh my GOD! It makes me feel so validated and so real and so angry and just wow

i searched up a bit and when stars collide at a fast pace that's when an explosion occurs, probably meaning that him and the person he's singing about were going "too fast" or not ready to cross paths yet, or maybe the love was too intense that it consumed them both. Whereas when two stars merge slowly they create a "new brighter star called Blue Strangler", in the lyrics Han asks them to come back in the hopes that, maybe, instead of exploding and scattering away, their love will bloom into something much more grand than the both of them
