Can I be insufferable about mitski for a moment?

I love her music so much!

I know it's not the intended meaning of her songs but I listen to so many of her songs because of how much I relate to them as an autistic trans person.

Like strawberry blond, which is actually about her experience as a woc, is so viscerally relatable to me with lyrics like "all I need, darling, is a life in your shape" and just the general feeling of envying this image of a 'normal' girl is so me.

And I know that is not the intention of the song and I don't want to take away from that meaning or her voice on it but it's also so beautiful to me how a lot of 'only I feel that way' feelings are so common across so much of humanity.

Whereas when two stars merge slowly they create a "new brighter star called Blue Strangler", in the lyrics Han asks them to come back in the hopes that, maybe, instead of exploding and scattering away, their love will bloom into something much more grand than the both of them
