New versions of Linux available for the Amiga were examined in this issue, with a comment in one piece how “many in the Linux community are absolutely, completely, positively sure that Linux will knock Microsoft off the OS throne.” In the meantime, it was becoming more possible to watch QuickTime files on an Amiga, and Jim Collas had transferred from Gateway to Amiga Inc, with the editorial ready to see great promise in that. One column proclaimed “the next Amiga” was the (approvingly described) Sega Dreamcast, with that company’s sure-to-succeed turnaround having provided a shining example for Amiga Inc.

Tag your age if you wanna bc I was just thinking about how I have used floppy disks before (I'm 25 and used them in elementary computer lab) but my 22 y.o. brother hasn't which is so weird to me like 3 years isn't a long time at all to me

Ohhhh I'm going insane. I think at some point during the development of veilguard the shadow dragons were not going to lose their hq if you didn't save Minrathous cause there is recorded voice over mentioning Ashur’s current blighted status and even a line from Dorian that would have had Dorian mention that he helped fight off the dragon during its attack. @/corseque matched up speakers to script lines and organized it all by conversation (I adore them sooo much for their work it's so NICE to be able to tell whos saying what for most of the script) and there are multiple mentions in Tarquins On Click VO, Ashurs On Click and ambient VO, and Dorians On Click VO that would only fit if you could talk to them post Minrathous being devastated.

*Dorian flashing back to my inquisitor dragging him and Bull along to kill all the high dragons in the south* and just so many lines referencing Ashur being sick-

Its tough to verify all the voice over lines are recorded or not at the moment because ealayer3 is veryyy finicky right now on what VO files it will open or just decide to crash at but Dorians line and the first line from Tarquin on this post ive checked and they are recorded.

Sadly Ashur's On Click and ambiant VO files crash when I open them at the moment but with the other lines having been recorded its likely his are too even if they're not implemented in the game. It would have been SO COOL to see and visit blighted Ashur over the course of the game if you didn't save Minrathous. I would have loved to see that progression.

Amazing Computing October 1998

Bringing Windows video files onto the Amiga (to do the same thing with QuickTime appeared to require paying a hefty license fee to Apple) featured in this issue. The editorial had to deal with a British and a French Amiga magazine closing down, but insisted “We are in a valley,” and that “Amiga Inc. is working on a new system that will be a new step for Amiga technology” that would bring us out of it.

I often see people asking "is the idea I have unique and interesting?" and I think the most important thing is — is it unique to you, is it interesting to you? does it make you happy? does it bring you comfort? is it inspired by things you love and cherish? if so, that's the only thing that really matters because it doesn’t have to be good for the whole world, it has to be good for you. so create, tell stories, inspire, be grateful for other creators and respect their work and if what you do has a part of who you are in it then it will always be unique.

and just look at you! you created something with your own mind, the ideas came out of you and you put it on paper with whatever skill and experience you have at the moment and it will only become better with time and practice! you made it! cherish it!
