Ace opened his mouth and closed it again almost immediately. He thought about everything that had happened over the last few months. He had been pulled into this weird group of misfits, and for the first time Ace had people and a purpose .  He had always felt some kind of pull to Nancy. Even when there were other people. Laura. Owen. Amanda. Gil. But it never mattered, because when Nancy asked, and even when she didn’t, Ace would be there. That’s what friends do. Hero of Horseshoe Bay’s friends. We show up. He had never let himself believe it was anything more than that, but the way Nancy was looking at him, Ace wanted to let himself believe it could be.

Hello! I've just finished binge-watching Nancy Drew and I'm in serious withdrawal 💔 I can't understand the AO3 filtering system lol which is why I'm asking you for recommendations: I need Nace fics as far as they eye can see... long, short, canon divergent, canon compliant... Please. Or if there's a blog solely dedicated to Nace fics, I would love to check that out as well.

here is the last section i just worked on (in my first nace fic) because tbh the last line i could have shared would have been boring:

“Nance, you got all lost in your research again. Let’s get some food in you.” Ace is looking at her with concern, but it's not hard to accept it from him. At least not as hard as it often is with others.

“Let me guess… you're going to say The Claw, weren’t you?”

His smile stretches to something brilliant, magnetic. Maybe Nancy can enjoy this world for a little longer, this fantasy, while still not giving into it. Before she’s ripped away. “We have a very solid 4-star rating on Yelp.”

“Yeah, don’t think I don’t know that you and Bess made all of those reviews yourself.”

“Please,” he scoffs. “George wrote a few, too. Nick said he refused.”

Nancy throws her head back in laughter, and she reaches out her hand to Ace. He takes it.
