i want to speak on their drink choices for a moment… satoru with his monstrous, sickeningly sweet drink. probably some odd type of milkshake or float?? idk i’m having a hard time telling. all i know is that being next to that would make me break out in hives (it’s hard out here being strawberry’s no. 1 opp ☹️) but he probably goes out of his way to request something so horrific to the workers… suguru and shoko look on in terror.

suguru and his drink… hm. we know how he makes his tea. with one sugar cube. but it doesn’t really look like tea based on the coloring so i am going with black coffee. i also thinks he puts in. one sugar cube. or (judging by the little shakers next to his cup) one little shake of sugar. it is my personal belief that suguru does not like overly bitter things but he doesn’t like particularly sweet things either. he’s somewhere in the middle. he cherishes taste though in his younger years because it’s so much better than having to swallow curses… i have this thought that when he’s older, so around jjk0 time, he doesn’t have much of a sense of taste anymore. in those 10 years, he has consumed A Lot of curses and at a certain point i think his taste buds just kind of went numb… poor guy.

bonus, i can see suguru turning for a second and satoru taking the sugar shaker and dumping some in his coffee like he did with the spices to riko’s ramen in okinawa… a menace, that man.

anyway!! miss shoko!! again, a bit hard to tell by the coloring. maybe it’s cola? iced tea? i really did like zoom in and try to tell but i can’t guess. maybe she does like cola… maybe it’s something she and satoru bonded over too because we know his soda of choice is cola. except for when he’s with suguru, in which case he takes whatever suguru is getting (based off of the hidden inventory outro) shoko is lovely and a healer but let’s not act like this girl doesn’t practice the most unhealthy habits you’ve ever seen… definitely would not put her past drinking soda bright and early in the morning. silly girl…

the rest of lunch went by pretty quickly, your dad ended up having to rush off to see an emergency patient. the car ride home started off silent until your brother finally spoke. “i’m sorry about before y/n truly. i just saw how he was standing over you and lost my cool.” you just nod in response not really mad anymore but not sure what to say. “look i know you probably don’t want to hear this, but i just i’ve heard things about rafe cameron, he’s got a bit of a reputation. i don’t know if it’s true or not but as your brother i just want the best for you.”

you nod taking in his words, “i understand” you pause for a second trying to figure out the best way to word what you’re trying to say. “but i don’t think it’s right to just write rafe off as being some terrible guy when he’s been nothing but lovely to me. i mean who’s even saying these things? ruthie and her lot? how reliable are they?”

“look i’m just relaying what i’ve heard from other people, i don’t know the guy, i don’t know if what they’re saying is true. i just don’t want to see you get hurt. look just- just be careful y/n please.”

“i will.” you give him a small smile before hopping out the car. you essentially raced into your room and hopped straight into your pyjamas, feeling drained from the afternoon you just had. you look at your phone, no new messages from rafe. you find yourself staring at his photos as if trying to examine what goes on inside of his brain.

surely this guy you were opening yourself up to, wasn’t just using you. he seemed so genuine. if he was just using you then why did it feel like that, like electricity. your head was filled with thoughts, unsure whether to trust the words of doubts or the way your heart pounded when he looked at you. the fact he hadn’t messaged you was just making you overthink more. eventually you put your phone down closing your eyes and falling asleep.

when you awoke a couple hours later, you checked your phone to see a message from your brother saying he’d popped out of the house and would be back soon aswell as a message from rafe.

- Starting off strong with seeing Halvik and the awesome lady warriors again!! Halvik really saw the longest, prettiest, most luscious eyelashes on a man and knew it was an absolute waste. She is SO valid for that.

- Laurent is playing Game of Thrones 5D chess, and his mind terrifies and amazes me. His strategy and diplomacy with the reinforcements was absolute genius and this is why I need a Hamlet situation to happen with uncle dearest.

- Damen. Leather loincloth. That’s it. That’s the post. 🙂

- I love this weird point where Damen and Laurent both look at each other like “this is so clearly more than friends, but what the actual FUCK is this??”

- The kiss. Oh my stars, the kiss. That was the most angst promising, stunning, and oh-so-earned kiss made even more poignant by the fact I’m convinced Laurent KNOWS and is letting it happen anyway. If my suspicions are correct, he’s had to come to terms with the fact he’s fallen for the man who killed his brother. I am TERRIFIED for King’s Rising. 🙃

- Aimeric and Laurent, both very different victims. - “you attack those who can’t defend themselves” - Damen… bro… I love you but stop. But I like the fact we get to see that Laurent is not impenetrable. He’s cold and cunning but still human and deeply hurt.

- Damen and Laurent’s first time. Wow. Just wow. The layers to this scene. Laurent’s clear trauma associated with sex and Damen’s reassurance and honour. “How a man takes a boy?” “No. How a man takes a man.” You hear that? That’s the sound of my heart shattering further. Sex scene done RIGHT.

- “Nicaise would not see fifteen now.”… well there goes the last of my fucking heart. I am DEVASTATED. He deserved to live. If you hear sobbing coming from the general direction of Hong Kong, just know it was me. 🥲

After much insistence, he'd get up, huffing that you simply must not love him anymore. Then came a quick shower - to which he'd always invite you with a wink, effectively earning himself a smack upside the head and a warning that he'd be late.

Then came changing. Which involved you helping him get his arms through the sleeves of his coat as he'd insist he needed a "reward kiss" after every single step. WOOO, it's already been a year since I posted on her bd. I will try to keep this short, but let's see how good I'll be at that...

Now, I haven't shared what I think about S2 yet. LONG STORY SHORT, I think Vi's arc was too rushed. I wanted to see more of her, to see her fight for the people she loves. I understand why they couldn't show EVERYTHING, time and budget is a thing, yadiyada. But I still wanted to see more of Vi.

Onto a sweeter part :) It's already been a year and a half since I started watching Arcane, and even if I'm quite new to this series(technically), it still has changed my life in SO many ways. I never knew what this show had in store, and to come out of watching it with a new favorite character wasn't too expected for me personally... I love Vi in all kinds of ways, but most definetely, I love her as a character in general. I relate to her in many ways, and, honest to god, this show in general is what has kept me going. Vi is strong and protects the ones she loves and cares about, putting others needs first over hers. She has a big and good heart, that, FUCKING UNFORTUNATELY, people use for bad.

I have never lover a character so much, at least not where I relate to them deeply at the same time. She is what I have been, and what I'm not right now. This goes deep to a very personal level, so I won't share that much. In the past, I had a certain situation where I put others needs before mine, and I had to be.. a protector. I had to take care of people who needed support, I was the strong one. But now, since life has been.. kinda kicking my ass, I can't be the strong one anymore. I can't balance a lot of things, because, really, I'm not that in control of my life, lol. But, Vi can be that for me, and she IS. Her beliefs and overall character has kept me going, and I am so grateful that a show like Arcane can bring a character like that into reality(not physically tho☹️). You could NEVER make me hate Vi. She is so sweet deep down, so FUCK YOU if you think she ruined everything. WE CLEARLY DIDN'T WATCH THE SAME SHOW THEN!!!!

And if you'll say: "She's just a fictional character.." ... GET OUT !!!!

TLDR: Vi means a lot to me, and because of it, why shouldn't I celebrate her BIRTHDAY??? I love her, she literally deserves the whole world bro.

like in the beginning of episode one. they’re on the troop ship laughing and shouting and being rowdy as hell and they’re all debating over why they’re fighting and runner just quiets everyone down and asks leckie—almost in a teasing, joking way—why they’re fighting and he just casually quotes a POEM and they all get quiet and solemn and look at him like he hung the moon. are you kidding me. they fucking love him. he loves them. are you KIDDING ME.

THE FACT THAT I'M FOR SOME REASON THE PERSON YOU THOUGHT OF ? I'M HONORED..😭🙏 I wanna start off by addressing the scene you mentioned and how Leckie quotes a POEM 😭🙏 because me and my bf were rewatching the show not to long ago and realize when everyone erupts after the awkward silence Runner goes "Leckie, you've gotta STOP this." And I think it's SO funny. I could write ESSAYS about them. I have playlists and everything (they're private, don't try finding them). I could go on and on about how terribly sad they are, especially in the original draft scripts for the show. I think a specific relationship that's not talked about enough at ALL is Leckie and Chuckler. You see a lot for Chuckler/Runner & Hoosier/Leckie, but never anymore than that ? Of course, they're a polycule in my eyes, but Leckie and Chuckler were so close. (especially in helmet for my pillow, but this isn't about that !!) Ex: Chuckler's "buddy :-((" and covering Leckie up when he had enuresis rather than making fun of him and the part in one of the draft scripts where Leckie says he's writing a love poem for him 😭 I love how Chuckler's like the caring one of the group when it comes to literally anything. Getting one of them a drink, taking care of Runner when he's sick, etc. The way they all just seem to get each other and the way they feel comfortable enough with each other to lay together and make sure one another is okay is so sweet to me. Then there's also the tragedy of Leckie being there for Runner and Hoosier getting shot, unable, and hopeless to help them while also having NO idea where the hell Chuckler is ! The fact that just before Hoosier got shot, he tried to tell Leckie that they needed to move, and in response, Leckie yelled at him. The scene with Runner and Leckie on the boat in episode 6 has always meant so much to me because it's just such a sad and vulnerable part. Leckie rushing to tell him that he tried to come back and Runner immediately going "I know." And taking him topside ☹️ There's also a part that I feel like going very unnoticed. In one of the episodes, after a shootout, you see Chuckler put his and Runners helmets together. I've never seen anyone talk about it, but I like to point it out. The scene where Runner pats Hoosier, telling him to rest up and the rest of them going out together, getting ice cream, etc. The INSANE scene of Hoosier cutting Leckies foot 😭💀🙏 and just the stupid ways they joke with each other 😭 ALL of it I could go on about, genuinely. I know that this is stupidly jumbled, but I'm just typing what I happen to think about in the moment 😭 I love Leckies team and their relationship with each other ☹️ I wish I could go even more in depth, but I am blanking right now. 💀🙏

A few weeks after Brad has told Max he’s leaving at the end of the season, Daniel asks Brad if he can let Maxy know too.

Nobody really knows how to handle the situation, but Daniel thinks it’s better for Maxy to be told than to think Brad just stopped coming around so much - he knows his sweet boy will think he’s done something wrong and Brad doesn’t want to see him anymore if they do that.

So, one afternoon when Maxy is little Brad comes over. He sits Maxy on his lap, and explains very gently that at the end of the year he won’t be around so much. That he still loves Max so much. But he has a different job now. One that allows him to be home with his family. “Daddy would miss you a lot if he was away all the time, wouldn’t he? So that’s how I feel sometimes, Buddy. Missing my family.”

At the time Maxy is very good about it, nodding along to what Brad is saying and giving him soft snuggles. He even hands Brad one of his dinosaur plushies to hold while they talk.

Throughout the rest of the season they try to prepare Maxy, mentioning Rupert and how he will be doing training with Maxy. Mentioning that Brad won’t be around so much, but he will visit etc etc.

After Abu Dhabi, on the flight home, Maxy insists he sits on Brad’s knee. Daniel suspects there might be a bit of an emotional outburst coming, and he’s not wrong, because as soon as the plane lands in Monaco Maxy clings to Brad. Sobs into his shoulder. Won’t let Brad get off their plane to fly home to the UK.

It’s really heartbreaking for Daniel, and of course Brad, and it’s not how Brad wanted to say goodbye to Maxy ☹️

Brad ends up taking Max’s face in his hands, making Maxy look at him, and says “Hey, you know I am going to visit soon. You know you can text me or call me whenever you want to. Let’s stop these tears, yes?” ♥️

I agree!! *an incoherent rant incoming* Jean imo def moved on from Kevin (in a romantic way; i think he’s not moved on from the whole ‘Kevin left me’ thing ofc but I think he obviously knows and accepts that he and Kevin won’t ever happen lol). And that scene with Renee was obviously a closure/farewell and they’ve moved on to being friends now (also imo while i like their dynamic i feel like they’d never work bc of the whole victim saviour complex, that’d be really uncomfortable and hard to overcome). Jeremy seems like he’s able to handle Jean’s crazy baggage without placating him too much or pushing him too hard. He definitely needs to work on his own shit first (i feel like the way he went all in on helping Jean is kind of giving ‘I am avoiding my problems by getting too involved in others’ problems’) but I think Jean will be the perfect person to help him with that! As you said he’s super perceptive and honestly very empathetic even if he doesn’t show it in the most obvious way. Jeremy would probably really appreciate Jean’s brutally honest approach lol. They’re lowkey perfect for each other ☹️ TSC2 can’t come soon enough

hardcore agree on every single point you made!! i feel exactly the same about Jean and Renee, as much as their dynamic is sweet, i think it would be really difficult to overcome Jean feeling indebted to her (whereas Jean and Jeremy are both growing together) + ya i think Jean has very complicated feelings toward Kevin but i don’t think he’s actively yearning over Kevin anymore

and exactlyy i definitely imagine Jean quietly picking up on whatever Jeremy’s going through and expressing concern only for Jeremy to try and pull a “my problems aren’t that bad and therefore don’t matter” which i don’t see Jean accepting. especially since Jean has an ‘older brother who cares more about other people’s well-being more than his own well-being’ vibe (underneath his slightly prickly attitude lol) i think Jeremy and Jean are really good for each other, Kevin subconsciously knew what he was doing by having Jean transfer to USC 🤨

RANT!!

I know this is kind of old news, but everytime I get reminded Evan Peters played Jeffery Dahmer and how it royally fucked up his image in multiple ways, I get really sad. I mean he finally got a huge award for his acting from it which is amazing—but tbh it wasn’t even one of his best performances imo. He deserved an award wayyy before Dahmer. Everyone is just strangely obsessed with Jeffery Dahmer in some way that he got super popular from it and now he gets recognized, but only as “the guy who played Dahmer” and it genuinely always makes me so depressed. Also the fact that people think he was hot in Dahmer but like…he’s representing a real life killer, and it’s not even one of his best looks..

And it’s people who are in the Evan Peters/ AHS fandom mainly too. I mean I KNOW Evan Peters is hot all the time, but whenever I see him playing Dahmer it just feels icky to see people romanticize him because he does look like Jeffery. And tbh they somehow managed to make him look ugly. Idk if that’s controversial to say, but personally I think Evan doesn’t look attractive in Dahmer at all even though I always find him extremely attractive.

I really hope I am not going to piss anyone off with this, like what you like, but it’s just always so disturbing to me when I see people post “sexy” screencaps of him in Dahmer.

A part of me wishes he never took the role, but I also know it is a huge step in his long career and is totally deserved but still. I just can’t get over it. Sweet baby was brutalized from that role…and the show being a cause of a resurgence of Dahmer costumes that year too. UGH. I know he probably felt responsible for that or something and it breaks my heart. And he looks so sad accepting his award. HELP I CANT THINK ABOUT THIS ANYMORE 😭☹️

Pleasing Scent Samples

Hello, friends! I ordered the Big Lip balm from Pleasing and with it came a fun surprise.

I already gave my initial impressions to @twopoppies as soon as I opened the package. It’s been a couple hours or so now so the scents have dried down on my skin and I can take a second smell to let you know my thoughts.

Full disclosure, I don’t think I have a very sophisticated nose 😂 But I’ll try my best to describe as accurately as possible. That said, I’m sure I’ll miss the actual notes and ingredients so consider this the most unprofessional review you could get from someone that just really loves perfumes and doesn’t mind being totally honest for better or for worse.

RIVULETS

Pepper, pine, and powder with floral come through. It reminds me so much of Gucci Memoire but slightly lighter. These are the notes from Fragrantica and I swear Rivulets is very much this but slightly cooler.

It also reminds me of Diptyque’s Figuier scent too. Overall very woody and clean!

Unfortunately it just won’t stay on my skin. I tried it on my wrist and the back of my arm but it only lasts about 10mins or so and then vanishes. ☹️ I really do love it (I was also a fan of Memoire) but if I took the risk of buying it, I know I’d have to put some Vaseline or something else on first to hopefully help the scent last longer.

Bright, Hot

Delicious! Cinnamon, Vanilla, Fruity! It reminds me of bourbon with some sweet tanginess. Or maybe Peach Schnapps! Like it has the spiciness from alcohol but I swear it makes my mouth water like after biting into a ripe peach. This is what I wanted Tom Ford’s Bitter Peach to smell like but Ford’s is just too musky and overpowering for me. I’ll 100% be purchasing Bright, Hot though! It’s so much more pleasant and light. The fruity notes come through with this more vs the musk. And it STAYED on my skin. I’m so obsessed with it, I want it in as a perfume and candle (Harold, please 🙏🏽).

Here are the notes from Bitter Peach to get an idea of what I mean:

Closeness

Oh, she’s SEXY 😮‍💨

I told @twopoppies it smells like spice, pink fruity bubblegum and a pink bubble bath! I also get rose. Pink, pink, pink. They chose the sample card well.

This one is the heaviest scent, almost like oud with it’s dark muskiness. But that sweet floral scent just makes it completely intoxicating. I couldn’t stop smelling myself after putting it on, it also had the strongest lasting power on my skin.

If this is the scent people are describing a “vaporub and sex” I don’t disagree but I don’t think the description necessarily does it justice. 😂 All the scents are definitely meant to be unisex so they all have a powdery, spiciness to them. But this one is just so alluring and HOT. It gives me sweat, heat and sweet playfulness.

The closest thing I could compare it to in my own collection of perfumes was Clean Reserve’s Sparkling Sugar.

But switch the Fruity and Musky amounts. Closeness is like this scent’s naughty sister. 🖤

And there you have it! As I said, I’m not a professional perfume reviewer by any means (clearly 🤣) but I hope this gives everyone some idea of what they can expect! And of course if anyone else got the samples and would like to add (or tell me I’m completely off the mark, haha) please do.

Overall I genuinely loved each scent and think there’s something for everybody here. My favorite compliment is when someone tells me I smell good so I’m really particular about what I wear but I can honestly say I’d wear all of these happily. I lean more towards Bright, Hot for my personal preference but Rivulets smells great for an everyday scent where Closeness would be perfect for a date night out. The quality also seems to be great so if you do plan to purchase like I am, I don’t think we’ll be disappointed with the product.
