okay so this is the second time i’ve seen someone write ‘queerbait’ in the tags of this post and i’m just. blegh. i have some thoughts and i’m not sure if i’m wrong or perhaps thinking too much into it or what but. i’m just Not Okay with that being tossed around based off scenes of Eddie looking at Buck.

the acting choices Ryan is making in terms of Eddie looking at Buck stem from a place of Eddie possibly having had his “OH! IT’S YOU.” moment, his “my god do i love you” moment, his “i’m dying and all i want is to hold your hand moment”, something we actually got to see on our screens when he was shot in the middle of a Los Angeles street and the one thing he does is reach out for Buck, whether or not you believe he remembers any of it is up to you but he Did That. That was a scene that happened, in canon. we don’t know that Eddie has had That moment, only Ryan does. and his acting choices have Been Okayed by tptb because hey, they wrote the damn scenes. we have no control over that, we just see his amazing acting choices play out for us and make our assumptions about why.

now, that being said, no one is saying Eddie is in love with Buck, no one is saying Buck is in love with Eddie, as far as I know no one from production has outright said “maybe we will, maybe we won’t.” no one has made Ryan and Oliver have interviews in which they’re playing up the ship for laughs and giggles, only to downplay it in the same breath. i have not seen any sort of “yea we know about X Ship and we are gonna mess with the audience about it” talk to get people to watch the show as most queerbaiting tends to do. no one is saying Eddie might possibly be kinda gay only to have him date women after women after women because He Is A Man. imo i think i’ve been around fandom long enough to know This Ain’t It babes. 

now what happens in the rest of the season, and possibly any other season to come, is another story but if they haven’t been doing that for the past 5 seasons why would they do it now?

my gifset was meant to show how eddie looks at buck with such love and adoration. he looks at him like he’s happy to see him, happy to be around him, happy just to be and exist. buck allowed him to be vulnerable and broken and stuck around anyway, in spite of it all, maybe even because of it. because at the end of it all buck needed someone to do just that for him too. they need to be broken and vulnerable together to learn how to put each other back together.

you guys just hate women. its incredibly blatant. im fully serious. if you got angry at the mariana scene but you were fine with the sherlock scene its not because you "want representation", or because you're "scared of queerbaiting" (which btw s&co isnt even doing!). its because you hate women in key roles. seriously try to explain to me how watching the ONLY MAIN FEMALE CHARACTER actually grow and develop with her male cast and being upset at that isnt blatant sexism.

What if vlad was in love with jack and hated maddie - love hate swap au

I've been finding very little pac man (jack x vlad) content but literally thinking about it for awhile and it makes soooo much sense

Tldr: to vlad jack is vlad's sweet himbo best friend he crushes on while maddie is the manipulative evil women who wanted the accident to happen to take jack from him and continue to manipulating jack to keep him away from vlad and hating ghosts. Also think maddie did the same to danny or least doesn't care abt danny and is a bad mum

Ok jack is the one who pushed the button and inthe show Vlad's thinking along "that stupid oaf ruin my life and took maddie by being so wreckless"

But like I was finding it hard that vlad would still love maddie. He goes on how stupid and incompentent jack is and how clever and impressive maddie is. So why easily forgive her for getting with jack and not visiting him ever since the accident?

If he thinks jack is so stupid how could he think jack took away maddie?

My idea of this love hate swap (idk what else to call this yet) is that to vlad jack is kinda like a himbo, a golden retriever; means well but can be air headed and not thinks through.

Like you can see here in a couple of photos jack and vlad were pretty good friends. They were in a band where though others made fun of them, the 2 just smiled away. Makes me think they were the "losers/outcast" friends so they were close.

Even fandom wiki says

"Vlad was once Jack's best friend, probably the closest thing he had to a brother. The two of them used to be roommates and lab partners in college. They did everything together, until the proto-portal..."

Now at the time maddie and vlad are also pretty good friends, but not as close as jack and vlad. All it says in wiki they knew each other in college and were in the same ghost club. Even more points why he's less likely to defend maddie.

So the accident happens the same and vlad here thinking

"jack did push the button but he always rushes head first, he doesn't mean it, he's so sweet, he wouldn't hurt anyone on purpose"

And then it gets him thinking about maddie

"what about maddie? She was the only other person there and she also knew the calculations were off...

Yet she didn't stop jack, she went towards jack and left me"

Eventually he's starting to think this is maddie's fault and a big plot to take jack from him and leave him alone

"She went to Jack and left me, left me to take the brunt of the portal, she didn't stop Jack cos she wanted me to get hurt by the protal maybe even kill me!

So that way she wouldn't be accountable! It would be just an "accident", when really she wanted me out of the picture!

I bet she's pretended to comfort Jack and when Jack's at his most vunerable, maddie swooped Jack for herself!"

So when he doesn't see jack or maddie visiting him he may first be just cos he's got the ecto acne thing but he's still bitter against maddie and gets worse with still no word from either of them.

But after awhile he's out of hospital and still no word from them (technically think canon says they said they never spoke to each other since the accident)

He might have gotten smth like a letter saying how they're a big family now and/or a wedding invite...or he just got someone secretly hired to find them and info abt them lol

And he's just furious, he's sure maddie is behind this and has manipulated jack to keep away from vlad and get together

That she wanted jack from the start and would do anything even if it means getting rid of vlad. Well isn't she gonna be in for a surprise.

He still get stupid rich by illegal means but his thought isn't just to be sucessful to impress jack but also have enough money for jack (and him) to invent and research to his hearts content without worrying abt a budget.

So jumpskip to bitter reunions and vlad now finds out danny is a halfa and his thought

"That twisted women! Has she no heart! To do this to her own child! Jack is always so sweet, he'd never do this! She'll do anything for her research, even if it means half killing a child!"

Later Danny will say neither his parents know and his mum wouldn't do a thing like that, cos like this is his mum!

But vlad still keeps his suspicions of maddie somehow at fault of danny becoming a halfa. That even if she didn't plan it, she still doesn't care about her children to keep them safe.

I'd say unlike the show he doesn't go trapping and fighting danny, but they're now pretty tense with each other as vlad makes it clear he wants to break up maddie and jack (danny doesn't know vengeful he really is till way later)

Also I think it'll be funny if vlad commits crimes and danny fights him and vlad goes "you're so homophobic"

Somewhere along the line he finds out how much the fenton parents hate ghosts and sure maddie also behind this and has "poisoned his sweet jack" with these lies.

But it worries him given he's half ghost and tries to slip in to defend ghosts. Or least ease the idea not all ghosts are evil.

Vlad would also make some snide comment about how maddie "mistreats" Jack or doesn't really love him and basically finds anything to nitpick of her as a wife or mother.

He'd say alot of stuff hope to rile maddie up and show how she's actually not so "sweet".

I don't have any clear ideas where this goes but ik shit would hit the fan if it go out to jack and maddie what he really thought of maddie.

Also up for interpretation how maddie and jack react or what they actually act like; did they both really care about vlad and just a big misunderstanding? Or did they not care about him enough to check in? Is jack completely oblivious or feels smth up?
