the most niche thing i've ever done. kaisa and jo, as jen and nic from daisy may cooper and selin hizli's BBC comedy thriller Am I Being Unreasonable? which is 6 episodes long and freaking awesome.

if anyone is interested in aibu/the basic premise for this au:

this is the original promo pic of jen (ms hizli) and nic (ms cooper)!

johanna lives with her daughter, hilda, the light of her life; her husband, anders, who she doesn't like; and twig, who is missing. she has no real friends, is grieving her parents, and in general is not happy with her life.

kaisa is new in town, and her younger sister (frida, whom johanna mistakes for a daughter) starts at the same school as hilda. kaisa and johanna, equally lonely, quickly become friends, and their sudden, intense connection kind of unravels both of their lives.

both of them are hiding a lot i wont spoil too much!! someone watch aibu so i can talk about this au with them. its like a psychological drama about mothers in their late 30s with lesbian subtext. jen has this really intense protective attachment style and its kind of like love at first sight when she meets nic. and their sons become friends and its just really sweet and sad and scary.

its a show about change and missing cats and being lonely and people's lives falling apart and its so so so so funny. if you like fleabag youd like am i being unreasonable. i'm not trying to sell you anything here but I WANT SOMEONE TO DISCUSS THIS WITH!!!!!

Gonna get real personal here, total honesty and a little bit controversial . but I don’t always feel safe going to flyers games with other gay people, esp queer ppl who aren't familiar with hockey or sports in general. Bc they keep just openly talking about being gay and makin gay jokes which are funny in private but at the HOCKEY GAME??? The GAME of HOCKEY with HOCKEY FANS? and in my head im like. Shut up shut up. Did you not hear the people behind us boo the scott laughton flyers pride ad on the screen. the backwards cap white guy next to me is a STRANGER and you do not know what he thinks about you calling the goalie gay for being able to do splits. please please please do not say to me "are there any queer flyers" oh my god

if i dont create like. a striking and poignant piece of fanart about Nic & Jen from Am I Being Unreasonable with allusions to their obsessive and undeniably romantically-undertoned relationship and references to the hundreds of tiny twists and niche plot points in the show as well as aligning the whole thing with relevant music or narrative (John Cooper Clarke's I Wanna Be Yours read out during the credits), and then post it to the nonexistent fandom. then i might have to start putting things into a woodchipper

ummm movie would probs be saltburn bc it’s the last one I watched and I thought a lot of it and begrudge it becoming TikTok famous bc that was my weird little movie. Tv show… I struggle to keep up an attention span with shows!! although a bit ago I watched “am I being unreasonable?” which was SENSATIONAL it was on bbc I think? Daisy may cooper is a genius. And album I’ve been nailing - stick season by noah kahan bc I am but a simple woman 🤷🏻‍♀️ thanks!
