Informal portrait of 233 Corporal (Cpl) Alwynne Stanley Bowker, 8th Light Horse Regiment, of Camperdown, Vic. A farmer prior to enlistment, Cpl Bowker embarked from Melbourne on HMAT Star of Victoria on 25th February 1915. He was killed in action on 7th August 1915 during the charge at The Nek, Gallipoli and is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial. His cousin 236 Sergeant (Sgt) William Charles Bowker of the 13th Battalion was also killed on the Gallipoli Peninsula.

good morning (or afternoon/evening depending on where you're from!). Just want you to know your blog does great work. I was Joe neutral during his time dating her, edging on positive because I thought his desire for privacy was laudable. Now I'm a Joe-thusiast. Alwynner? Cause he's always winning by being a class act. It's kind of like a study in contrasts between the worst parts of narcissistic and attention-seeking American culture and a good dose of British restraint. Not that Brits can't be like Americans, but this one is an example in discretion and solid work ethic.

Women carrying, preparing and cooking 'Bulrush', Cumbungi, GUMBUNG (Wemba Wemba) BOURT-DEET (Wurundjeri) roots in the plains area of the Lower Murray River. From William Blandowski's expedition to the lower Murray between 1856 and 1857 (Central Murray Vic/NSW).

The women collected the roots in shallow swamps between January and March as a staple vegetable food throughout the high summer period. The small secondary roots are taken off, then the bigger roots are tied into bundles and put onto heated in earth and clay kilns and roasted for 2-3 hours.

Johann Wilhelm Theodor Ludwig von Blandowski (1822-1878), was a Polish born German explorer and zoologist. He is most known for his exploration of the Murray and Darling Region aided by a German naturalist, Gerard Krefft, illustrating animals, plants and birds. He demonstrated an interest in the activities of First Nations people with his numerous illustrations.

There was fallout between Blandowski and some members of Philosophical Institute after the Murray Expedition so he decided to name a couple of fish species to insult two of them - the two species documented descriptions were as follows, 'A slippery fish. Lives in the mud. Is of a violent bluish colour on the belly. The whole upper surface is of a dirty olivish-green colour, with numerous irregular dark patches' and the other: 'A fish easily recognized by its low forehead, big belly and sharp spine.'

This created bitterness and ill-feeling among some members of the Institute Council but Blandowski refused to withdraw the descriptions or the paper in which they appeared, and was quickly censured by the council. The insulted parties attempted to have him expelled from the institute, but eventually withdrew themselves when they could not obtain the required two-thirds majority of votes (quorum).

Blandowski remained active in the Philosophical Institute for the next three years, participating in the Exploration Committee that organised the Burke and Wills expedition. He felt strongly that Victorians should be actively involved in exploring Australia.

Blandowski returned to Europe with his sketches of First Nations people in 1859 and believed to be complaining of his treatment in Australia by the colonial scientific community.

It's almost like "but they are children" isn't a blanket excuse for all flaws, and renders those who do dislike a child character as just creeps who hate kids. It's almost like manipulated children with issues who put their faith in bad people and such, have grown to be shitty people, doesn't make them *not shitty* and doesn't invalidate criticism of them.

It's almost like backstory, knowing how a villain came to be, doesn't put them in a different category from other villains, they still do bad shit and need to be stopped. Guess what gang there's a *reformed villain squad* in this series, currently a joke moniker held by Raugh and Alwynn but the concept of showing villainous people the err of their ways, stopping them, then helping them get back up and do better is like a part of this narrative or something

It's almost like this isn't black and white, it never was. We as an audience read more into this than the players do but they are fine with that. Some people view Adine as black and with glasses, despite that never being reflected in official art. And you know why that's fine? Because Adine being white or not needing glasses has never been an important part of her character. That read if her is just as valid because it doesn't fundamentally change who Adine is, nor does it contradict anything in the show except official art, which also clashes with the show sometimes. It's a subjective part if the story.

So is how we feel about the ratgrinders. Some people see the innocence of who they were years ago and focus on that, others see how nasty they all are now and focus on that. Both sides love to act like their perspective is the *right* one and try to enforce that in the others, which feels antithetical to fantasy high's storytelling overall. Like or hate them, we can just have our opinions without having to *defeat* other people's opinions, interpretation doesn't need to be a zero sum game.

I am still willing to go on a rant over the nuance of the Ratgrinders and how they aren’t truly evil however I will be sending a laser guided ballistic missile to Oisin’s location at the next possible convenience

Okay maybe I am weird for saying this but this cwf era is fun, like we have: sightings, the jet thing which I feel bad even just reading about it... But whatever, Kitty Committee Studios expanding, special Deuxmoi appearances, a new Hulu show that I am really going to love because I was OBSESSED with Normal People and I also love cwf as a book, wife trophy era / proud girlfriend era soon, Taylor finally being able to say his name and even thank him in speeches while being so cute about it, Joseph's inevitable white boy of the month era coming soon, and a shit ton of content/interviews/red carpets and I am just... Excited!!!

Oh absolutely!! Things are pretty good now but I literally can’t wait for next year because it’s going to be win after win after win for us. And I don’t know about you guys but I simply have to apologise in advance for the person I’m gonna be when CWF comes out
