1. blind spot - okay yk pls this is in the best possible nostalgic way but it sounds like it's part of the lego movie soundtrack go listen if you don't believe me ABD THATS A GOOD THING!!!! this song just SWALLOWED ME ALIVE oh my gosh it reminds me of retro jpop and also 2000s teen movies and maybe that's why i was like obsessed? the vocals and the CHORUS oh my gosh it just was everything i wanted and yes this was the one i pressed on first when the album came out bc i have been WAITING FOR HER

4. megaverse - look this is TITLE TRACK MATERIAL it's like the banger b side that could've been a whole comeback of its own (im looking at you charmer, item, get lit and domino) the only thing i didn't like was their promotion style this time like y'all did NOT just spoil two of your songs before releasing the album like when i know songs in the album/songs repeat in the album it basically makes me think minus those songs so this album was really only 4 songs for me since every other song i already knew/is a variation of another anyway other than that it slaps but would've slapped harder if it was a first time listen

PICTURE SHOW: I loved the contrast of Bonnie’s dream to be a Clara Bow-style It girl, and Clyde wanting to kill everyone lol. Bonnie wants fame and Clyde wants money, because neither of them grew up with that — so what I get from that is that they want all that they don’t have, the opposite life that they have as kids. I LOOOOVED the bit where young Clyde turned into adult Clyde before his sentencing, and he’s so disillusioned and thinks people will look up to him (which is also Bonnie’s dream). They both just want recognition, but Bonnie thinks that heroism is the way, and Clyde thinks infamy is the way to go.

THIS WORLD WILL REMEMBER ME: Clyde literally has the worst idols in the world. He’s got the worst possible way of being remembered — dude why. But he’s so nice to Bonnie and describing her future, awwww. The GROWL in “there’s no plan b” LORDDDD

WHEN I DRIVE: damn the intro bass line was sick. I love how well Jeremy’s voice work’s for Clyde. They’re such Texas men lol. I LOVE that chorus, it’s so rousing!! “Just hold your nerve” EXCUSE ME SIR DOES YOUR VOICE HAVE TO DO THAT?? they really do think they’re heroes, and it kinda makes me sad, because this should not be how they wanna live and wanna die.

GOD’S ARMS ARE ALWAYS OPEN: the church music my god. Not gonna lie, im just letting it wash over me and not focusing much, because it reminds me of mass as a kid haha and it’s a hymn so it’s got the same message. OH WOAH and then the dude started with the different kind of song and THATS COOL HUH!! I do like the chorus element to it, cause it’s not so churchy anymore but it’s got that bit of church-plus-theatre sound!! Love the drums and the call-and response at 2/3 of the way through. STOP SHOOTING AND STEALING SHIT. GOD AINT GONNA TAKE YOU BACK ANYMORE BUDDY. That amen was fun hahaha!!

Does he think she wants to settle for marriage and children and a mediocre life when she’s very vocal about her dreams?? YOU LOVE WHO YOU LOVE: omgggg how sweet is Bonnie about him?? I feel like this is the moment she realises that even though she tried to change Clyde in the past, she now accepts him as he is and he’s the only one for her, she’s realising that she’ll love him unconditionally forever. “Maybe thats what made you love him all along” okay sTOP making me sob???? She’s following her heart awww. Common sense doesn’t know what love is!!!! I think I love Bonnie’s songs the best :D

RAISE A LITTLE HELL: OOOHHH it’s starts so wild-west-bar vibe. Loooove the bluesy tang. “Crooked god” the WORDS woahhhh. I love the lyrics to this, and Jeremy’s voice is so perfectly suited to Clyde’s songs, it’s crazy. “Ive been broken by the devil … I wont get to heaven, why not raise a little hell” HE KNOWS WHERE HE STANDS AND IS SO FINE WITH IT. BROOOO THAT GUITARRRR. The second verse is so vibey!! His voice breaks make me feel faint lol. And baby you can raise all the hell you want, Bonnie’s always gonna be your piece of heaven *swoons* anyway I feel like hes about to do something dumb

THIS WORLD WILL REMEMBER US: oh god the title makes me KNOW hes about to do something dumb. Ohhh Clyde this is not the life you need babyyyy. I like that Bonnie says its not too late and Clyde says it is, it’s a nice contrast of their characters!! And the bit where Bonnie’s singing at the start of verse two with no instruments is musically very cool. I love how clean it is lol. “But I meant what I said” was HELLA COOL. Clyde begging for her smile, stooooppppp!!! Aww and he’s validating her emotions … but he’s also a criminal … and Bonnie wants to leave … but she loves him … ouuughhh the conflict … and then the agreement to stay together!! THAT’S WHAT YOU CALL A DREAM: you probably know this, but I’ve worked as a stage manager for years and one of my best friends is a lighting designer; this song gives so many amazing set/lighting/blocking opportunities. I hope the directors and teach team really took advantage of such an amazing song for the actual stage show, because it could look INCREDIBLE on stage!! I do really love the song too.

WHAT WAS GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU: this also with the very cool onstage opportunities!! It has such a slow, jaunty beat and tune, and you can absolutely run with that sort of music. The choreography BETTER do this song justice!! I also LOVE the messaging, about having to reject your parents’ dreams and refuse to settle for less than the big, bright lives they want. “Babe, the meek don’t inherent a thing” GOT ME. BRO. And the chills I got when they actually sang “Bonnie and Clyde”, OH my god, that harmony, that belt, I LOVE THIS MUSICAL I NEED TO SEE IT LIVE

BONNIE: back to his country roots, lol. “I must be in love or else I’m going mad” and the LAUGH, SHOOT ME ALREADY!! ohhh and I love the callback to When I Drive, saying that driving used to make him feel alive but now Bonnie does *sobs* “my Bonnie” takes me out by the way. It’s kinda cute and sweet that he says “making love to” instead of something cruder or more vulgar, because his character seems so rough, and to change just that little bit when it comes to Bonnie is so symbolic

RAISE A LITTLE HELL (REPRISE): once again, absolutely wicked tune. Jeremy’s growling drawl is just amazing. But my dude they really just don’t learn, do they?? ALSO FUCK OFF, BONNIE LOVES CLYDE AND NOT YOUUUU. oh my god STOP. WITH. THE. AL. CAPONE. wooooaaahhhh the harmony on the last “let’s raise a little hell” is CRAZY, and the ending tune is such a theatre vibe!!

DYIN AINT SO BAD: why am I crying with just the first few lines? Her voice is so beautiful for this. This song has much more of a theatre-y feel than a lot of the others. “I hope to god that I go first” is soooo reallll. Aww god I love how devoted she is to Clyde, and how she’s resigned to the fact that no matter what happens, even if she doesn’t get that dream she’s always searched for, it’s worth it for him. “a short and loving life” *sobs* The swell of music for the second verse is lovely. “I’d rather breathe in life than dusty air” KILLED ME, I UNDERSTAND WHY IT’S YOUR BANNER, THAT ABSOLUTELY *SOARING* BELT FROM BONNIE?! WIFE?! and the way it softens after it … so beautiful. I think this song might be my favourite.

DYIN AINT SO BAD (REPRISE): “it’s death for Bonnie and Clyde” noooooo don’t say thatttttt!! But god is this version beautiful, and the soft harmony with “not if we both go together” killed me. I am dead, I have died. This is so sad because they’re romanticising this life, but it’s so upsetting what they’re actually dooming themselves to. Laura laughing sadly towards the end … god the stylistic choices are so well-fitting

HOW BOUT A DANCE (REPRISE): there are a lot of reprises in this musical. This is such set change music, lol, I hope the choreography was really swinging and suited to the tune. Damnnn girl really held that line, huh? Why is the last twenty seconds totally silent?

THIS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE: oh godddd I can’t believe this is the last song. “Some little time” that note had me on the FLOOR. I love the contrast between their voices here. Clyde’s rough and low, Bonnie’s sweet and high. “Don’t worry, let’s take it slow, babe” — the climbing of the notes was lovely!! “I told you being with you is enough” is the whole meaning of the show, and I’m so glad they actually said it *cries*. That last piano trill made me SO suddenly uncomfortable and anxious I have no idea why, but it was such a lovely song that the chaotic piano ending didn’t match right … does it purposefully put you at unease or is that just a me thing??

PICTURE SHOW: YES literally just the contrast between the 2 of them growing up, and I think it says a lot how they both grew up with big dreams. And the thing is too, is that the setting is both of them growing up poor in like small town Texas, so really both of them are just kids with big hopes for the future. And I love how it goes through the years with them growing up !!! AND NO LITERALLY that part where Clyde says 'I wanna be the guy kids up too' sticks out to me as well. Like. Clyde why are you like this 😭 AND ALSO, I think it says a lot about Clyde's character too with how he is like that with the guns and all because he thinks it's fun and enjoys it. Growing up poor, he very much *could* have been someone wo was doing robberies etc... to provide for his family, left with no other choice. But this song makes it very clear that that is Not The Case. And the contrast from the intro with their deaths right into young Bonnie's innocent song about wanting to be like Clara Bow is just. Perfection.

THIS WORLD WILL REMEMBER ME: "Clyde literally has the worst idols in the world." LMAO but *true*. I like how when he starts singing about Bonnie's future he's like. He just met her, but instantly sees the same drive and ambition in her that he has and I think that's part of what drew him to her, rather than him just forgetting about her after parting from that first meeting. HOW BOUT A DANCE:I knowwwww this song is like. The centre of the show, with the way it is at the very beginning and end, and plays at the pivotal moments. And the instrumentals is so beautiful!!! You mentioned the flirty tone, so i will mention that she is actually singing this to clyde in the musical; like I forget the word for it but like, it's actually her singing to him, not just because it is a musical. Like. I fully believe this song is the moment ehen bonnie fell in love with, meaning that drom this point, everything that followed was inevitable. My poor heart 😭Personally, I prefer the version of this song with Frances Mayli McCann (I think you listened to the original?)

I guarantee I have at least 2 posts floating around this website where I fully rant about this. Like, it's so clear that Ted sees Bonnie as the idea of her that he has in his head, rather than the person who is actually in front of them. And I feel like it has to do with it being like the 1930s small town as well, that even if she is vocal about her dreams to go to hollywood, people would react with the attitude of like. She'll settle down once she gets married, and no one takes her seriously. But CLYDE took her seriously, and fully sees that side of her. While Ted just sees what he wants to see. And in the later song, he has the line 'all I want to do is save her' BUT SHE DOESN'T NEED SAVING, TED. YOU ARE NOT HER HERO IN THIS STORY. STOP.

THAT’S WHAT YOU CALL A DREAM: This song was never one of my favourites so it has not occupied too much brain space to how it was done onstage, but it has grown on me. Basically just from realizing it is a complete contrast to dying ain't so bad. Like how bonnie and Blanche have their own songs about how one wants a long, easy, normal life, and the other just wants to really live, and it's ok if it's just for a short while. And one thing that sticks out to me is that both songs mention a rocking chair, with Blanche saying she wants like the typical front porch setting for her and Buck while they grow old, and bonnie saying she doesn't need one at all. BUT ALSO, despite their differing personalities and views here, they still share the song You Love Who You Love with the exact same sentiment, of why they fell in love with such similar guys.

(Also, I didn't actually know that, that's so cool!)

WHAT WAS GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOU: YES to the whole thing about them saying they want different lives that their parents had, and the easy path that was set out for them. And also taking the setting into consideration, like 1930s depression era like. Honestly what else was there for them? What other choice did they have if they wanted to set out an achieve something other than their regular, mundane lives? And like in the song Made In America with the line Who can blame them, not their fault they turn to crime like. Yeah? But maybe their parents, in turn, wanted more when they were young too but just settled for what they got in life. BONNIE: What I love most about this song, is the little bickering there is between them at the beginning with Bonnie interrupting his song. They are so cute <3. And I love how this is actually a callback to an earlier scene where Bonnie is reading a poem she wrote, and clyde keeps interrupting her, exact same as here but roles reversed. And I didn't know about that scene until I saw it live and when that happened I was like !!! because I knew this was coming up later and made the Connection in my mind lmao. But she occasionally talks about people who are together in a way that implies it's Very Important to her, which combined leads me to think she cares about it in the context of 'people who are romantic should care for each other' i.e. it's less about the romantic aspect than it is about the bond. because she comes from a HEAVILY family-oriented family.

I saw the ask you got about drama and copyright issues and maybe me feeling dismissive about drama stems from me just having being involved in theatre for years ??? I think casting is bound to cause some drama in the short term but i dont think anything long term will stem from it

Maybe its me being hopeful and having faith that the fandom based around a musical will be understanding of and respectful towards whatever casting decisions are made seeing as thats kinda just what happens in theatre????? Sometimes you dont get the part you want (if you even get cast at all) and it kinda sucks! But there will always be another opportunity. Shows will be put on again, and you never only have just one chance. Sure not getting the part you want is never and its okay to be sad about it, but sometimes someone else just fits the role better and theres not much that can really be done there. Id like to hope that everyone auditioning goes into it w an open mindset and will take whatever part they get w grace and treat casting like they would casting in a more traditional production (<- is a person who hasnt been active in online musical spaces in a few years. Take my words w a grain of salt i might not know what im talking about here)

If it does genuinely end up being a big issue though, maybe we could do smth w a cast a and a cast b ??? So that way more people get a chance to play a major character. It would be a lot more work as far as audio editing goes, but if theres enough of a want for it a second cast isnt impossible or anything. Itd honestly just take a bit more time to get out

As far as copyright goes thats! Iffier. Its weird and its wonky and itd be a bit of a pain but there are ways to deal w it

The easiest and simplest option is to only have the final version available to those who worked on it directly. No promotion, no making it public, just a fun thing for everyone who worked on it (and maybe their friends), and thats it. Itd be unfortunate to make a project like this so limited, but its the legal option that requires the least amount of effort 😔✌️

The other option would be to obtain the rights to put on the musical. I was curious about how much it would cost and after finding the copyright holders and filling out their mock form, it would come out to about 275 USD ????? Which is a lot! Thats a lot of money to pay out of pocket for a project that likely wont be monetized at all!

But, having said that, 275 starts to feel a lot smaller when you take into consideration how many people are interested in taking part. I think you mentioned about 30 or so people filling out the form??? If those 30 people individually contributed 10 USD (which is smth ive actually seen mandatory for a lot of non profit theatre companies and school shows) we would have some money left over even

275 is really only a lot if its just one person paying for it. I do 100% realize that having a cost would probably change this project a bit just by nature of real life money being involved, but i do still want to point out that its an option if youre willing to take it. Also i want to mention that the mock form said real prices might not be reflected. They didnt have an option for digital shows for where itd be put on, so if location impacts it at all 275 probably wont be the final cost 💔💔 (id like to hope the final cost would be lower though since it does assume the show in question is a more traditional in person show :') )

Also actually now that im thinking about it theres a secret third option which would be to combine the two???? Start out w it being just for everyone who worked on it but then put out a little interest check and fundraiser to see how many people would be interested in buying it. Kinda like what some physical print zines do but just w a musical instead! It would require putting a paywall on the final show which would also be kinda super unfortunate and a massive shame, but if enough people are interested its another way to deal w the licensing fees. Also if the project gets more money than the licensing costs maybe the leftovers could be donated or smth. Idk

Copyright is to me a much bigger issue than casting drama could ever be just bc of the legal issues it could bring up, but there are still definitely definitely ways to get around and deal w them ( ^^)b

(Btw @ the anon who kinda got me thinking about this and led me to send an ask in response, this is nothing against you !! I genuinely think bringing up copyright and potential dramas is a good thing to do especially so early on into a project like this. i actually have been thinking about doing an act 1 cast and an act 2 cast, but thats gonna raise the issue of finding two people with similar voices for one character so its not too jarring. we could totally do it but thats just more work for the casting people i feel. i mean if theyre up for it we could, again we'll just wait and see. there probably would be understudies too, and ive been thinking about having multiple voices for small sections of people who were squipped, like rich in the squip song, or jenna and christine in pitiful children/the play, even the creepy stock guy. there will be one "main" actor but maybe understudies will do underlying voices. will be a little more work for the editors so again we'll see

tldr; it did not take long at all for this comeback to grow on me i love it so much. i find that with most new songs my first listen is always very apathetic and/or ??? hi. on your post where you may or may not have ended on 'moffat is either your angel or your devil' did you have maybe an elaboration on that somewhere that i could possibly hear about. i'm very much a capaldi era stan and i've never tried to defend the matt smith era even though it had delightful moments sometimes so i wonder where that puts me. i'd love to hear your perspective on moffat as a person with your political perspective. -nicole

hi ok sorry i took so long to respond to this but i dont think you know how LOADED this question is for me but i am so happy to elaborate on that for you. first a few grains of salt to flavor your understanding of the whole situation: a. im unfairly biased against moffat bc im a davies stan and a tennant stan; b. i still very much enjoy and appreciate moffat era who for many reasons; and c. i hate moffat on a personal level far more than i could ever hate his work.

the thing is that its all always gonna be a bit mixed up bc i have to say a bunch of seemingly contradictory things in a row. for instance, a few moffat episodes are some of my absolute favorites of the rtd era, AND the show went way downhill when moffat took over, AND the really good episodes he wrote during the rtd era contained the seeds of his destruction.

like i made that post about the empty child/the doctor dances and it holds true for blink and thats about it bc the girl in the fireplace and silence in the library/forest of the dead are good but not nearly on the same level, and despite the fact that i like them at least nominally, they are also great examples of everything i hate about moffat and how he approached dw as a whole.

basically. doctor who is about people. there are many things about moffats tenure as showrunner that i think are a step up from rtd era who! actual gay people, for one! but i think that can likely be attributed mostly to an evolving Society as opposed to something inherent to him and his work, seeing as rtd is literally gay, and the existence of queer characters in moffats work doesnt mean the existence of good queer characters (ill give him bill but thats it!)

i have a few Primary Grievances with moffat and how he ran dw. all of them are things that got better with capaldi, but didnt go away. they are as follows:

moffat projects his own god complex onto the doctor

rtd era who had a doctor with a god complex. you cant ever be the doctor and not have a god complex. the problem with moffats era specifically is that the god complex was constant and unrepentant and was seen as a fundamental personality trait of the doctor rather than a demon he has to fight. he has the Momence where you feel bad for him, the Momence where he shows his humility or whatever and youre reminded that he doesnt want to be the lonely god, but those are just. moments. in a story where the doctor thinks hes the main character. rtd era doctor was aware that he wasnt the main character. he had to be an authority sometimes and he had to be the loner and he had to be sad about it, but he ultimately understood that he was expendable in a narrative sense.

this is how you get lines like “were the thin fat gay married anglican marines, why would we need names as well?” from the same show that gave you the gut punch moment at the end of midnight when they realize that nobody asked the hostess for her name. and on the one hand, thats a small sticking point, but on the other hand, its just one small example of the simple disregard that moffat has for humanity.

incidentally, this is a huge part of why sherlock sucked so bad: moffats main characters are special bc theyre so much bigger and better than all the normal people, and thats his downfall as a showrunner. he thinks that his audience wants fucking sheldon cooper when what they want is people.

like, ok. think of how many fantastic rtd era eps are based in the scenario “what if the doctor wasnt there? what if he was just out of commission for a bit?” and how those eps are the heart of the show!! bc theyre about people being people!! the thing is that all of the rtd era companions would have died for the doctor but he understood and the story understood that it wasnt about him.

this is like. nine sending rose home to save her life and sacrifice his own vs clara literally metaphysically entwining her existence w the doctor. ten also sending rose with her family to save her life vs river being raised from infancy to be obsessed w the doctor and then falling in love w him. martha leaving bc she values herself enough to make that decision vs amy being treated like a piece of meat.

and this is simultaneously a great callback to when i said that moffats episodes during the rtd era sometimes had the same problems as his show running (bc girl in the fireplace reeks of this), and a great segue into the next grievance.

moffat hates women

he hates women so fucking much. g-d, does steven moffat ever hate women. holy shit, he hates women. especially normal human women who prioritize their normal human lives on an equal or higher level than the doctor. moffat hated rose bc she wasnt special by his standards. the empty child/the doctor dances is the nicest he ever treated her, and she really didnt do much in those eps beyond a fuck ton of flirting.

girl in the fireplace is another shining example of this. youve got rose (who once again has another man to keep her busy, bc moffat doesnt think shes good enough for the doctor) sidelined for no reason only to be saved by the doctor at the last second or whatever. and then youve got reinette, who is pretty and powerful and special!

its just. moffat thinks that the doctor is as shallow and selfish as he is. thats why he thinks the doctor would stay in one place with reinette and not with rose. bc moffat is shallow and sees himself in the doctor and doesnt think he should have to settle for someone boring and normal.

not to mention rose met the doctor as an adult and chose to stay with him whereas reinette is. hm. introduced to the doctor as a child and grows up obsessed with him.

does that sound familiar? it should! bc it is also true of amy and river. and all of them are treated as viable romantic pairings. bc the only women who deserve the doctor are the ones whose entire existence revolves around him. which includes clara as well.

genuinely i think that at least on some level, not even necessarily consciously, that bill was a lesbian in part bc capaldi was too old to appeal to mainstream shippers. like twelve/clara is still a thing but not as universally appealing as eleven/clara but i am just spitballing. but i think they weighed the pros and cons of appealing to the woke crowd over the het shippers and found that gay companion was more profitable. anyway the point is to segue into the next point, which is that moffat hates permanent consequences.

steven moffat does not know how to kill a character. honestly it feels like hes doing it on purpose after a certain point, like he knows he has this habit and hes trying to riff on it to meme his own shit, but it doesnt work. it isnt funny and it isnt harmless, its bad writing.

the end of the doctor dances is so poignant and so meaningful and so fucking good bc its just this once! everybody lives, just this once! and then he does p much the same thing in forest of the dead - this one i could forgive, bc i do think that preserving those peoples consciousnesses did something for the doctor as a character, it wasnt completely meaningless. but everything after that kinda was.

rory died so many times its like. get a hobby lol. amy died at least once iirc but it was all a dream or something. clara died and was erased from the doctors memory. river was in prison and also died. bill? died. all of them sugarcoated or undone or ignored by the narrative to the point of having effectively no impact on the story. the point of a major character death is that its supposed to have a point. and you could argue that a piece of art could be making a point with a pointless death, ie. to put perspective on it and remind you that bad shit just happens, but with moffat the underlying message is always “i can do whatever i want, nothing is permanent or has lasting impact ever.”

basically, with moffat, tragedy exists to be undone. and this was a really brilliant, really wonderful thing in the doctor dances specifically bc it was the doctor clearly having seen his fair share of tragedy that couldnt be helped, now looking on his One Win with pride and delight bc he doesnt get wins like this! and then moffat proceeded to give him the same win over and over and over and over. nobody is ever dead. nobody is ever unable to be saved. and if they are, really truly dead and/or gone, then thats okay bc moffat has decided that [insert mitigating factor here]*

*the mitigating factor is usually some sort of computerized database of souls.

i can hear the moffat stans falling over themselves to remind me that amy and rory definitely died, and they did - after a long and happy life together, they died of old age. i dont consider that a character death any more than any other character choosing to permanently leave the tardis.

and its not just character deaths either, its like, everything. the destruction of gallifrey? never mind lol! character development? scrapped! the same episode four times? lets give it a fifth try and hope nobody notices. bc he doesnt know how to not make the doctor either an omnipotent savior or a self-pitying failure.

it is in nature of doctor who, i believe, for the doctor to win most of the time. like, it wouldnt be a very good show if he didnt win most of the time. but it also wouldnt be a very good show if he won all of the time. my point is that moffats doctor wins too often, and when he doesnt win, it feels empty and hollow rather than genuinely humbling, and you know hes not gonna grow from it pretty much at all.

so like. again, i like all of doctor who i enjoy all of it very much. i just think that steven moffat is a bad show runner and a decent writer at times. and it is frustrating. and im not here to convince or convert anyone im just living my truth. thank you for listening.

A/N: I hope you’re okay with Token and Clyde!

Prompt: "Hey, I don't know how to say this but hi, again. Uhm- I'm really bad at these kind of stuff and I'm really sor--" "Yes, I will go out with you. Now stop worrying so much."

Context:

It was February 14th. Valentine's Day. The day where some people thought it's a beautiful and fun day, while others thought like it was embarrassing and awkward.

You could see all the couples holding hands as they were walking through the hallway, holding chocolates and flowers. While you on the other hand, had an empty hand.

Tolkien Black

Well, actually, you had a small gift prepared in your school bag. It was for a certain classmate, the literal star student, Tolkien Black. You were on your way to his locker, thinking you had enough time to ask him to be your valentine before class starts. Though, you were nervous and scared, but Wendy has been begging and forcing you to ask him out for a long time and you were getting sick and tired of it. Tolkien is a nice guy, surely he won't just straight up and rudely turn you down, right? There's nothing to worry about.. heh.

Soon, you were soon there by his locker. You saw him grabbing his books for class, and it didn't seem like anyone has asked him before you yet. It was a perfect time, you can't mess up now.

You knocked on the side of the other lockers beside his to get his attention. He turned his head and looked down on your hand with a small box of chocolates wrapped in a red and pink pattern heart paper.

"Hey, I don't know how to say this but hi, again. Uhm- I'm really bad at these kind of stuff and I'm really sor--"

"Yes, I will go out with you. Now stop worrying so much."

"Huh?"

You looked at him confused. Did you hear that correctly?

"I said yes. Almost every girl from class has asked me out already, but I said no because I knew you would ask me too and I think you're pretty cute."

You stood there in silence as you slowly turned red and hot, getting a chuckle in return from the boy.

"See? You think it wasn't obvious? I pretty much knew all along that you had a crush on me because you always do this whenever you're around me. I just wanted to hear from you first." He gently smiled at you as you gave him the gift.

"Sorry. I'm just a bit surprised. So... Are we on after school at my place?"

"Sure, no worries, (y/n)."

Clyde Donovan

You were quite sad about not having anyone to ask you out. If someone did it, you'd be so happy and it would be a lot of fun. But whatever, it's just another stupid school day anyway. What did you expect? Even your best friend, Clyde, probably has a valentine as well, which is probably Bebe. He's good with the girls, he even makes you kinda flustered sometimes as well. Actually, both of you jokingly start to flirt to each other sometimes out of boredom too, which is fun. But sometimes you can't tell if he actually mean it or not. He's always like that to the girls. So if he ever had a crush on you, that's good, because you do too.

"(Y/NNNNN)!!!" You heard a similar voice yell from the distance. Turning around to see where it came from, you could see the brunette run towards you in full speed with what seemed to be... a boquete of flowers?

"Stop right there!" You held up your hand in front of him, stopping him so he was facing the palm of your hand. "No running in the halls." You winked, receiving a breathless chuckle and an eye roll from him.

"Hey! Just- hah- I have to ask you something."

Is he going to ask you out? Isn't he supposed to be with Bebe?

"I don't know how to say this but hi, again. Uhm- I'm really bad at these kind of stuff and I'm really sor--"

"Yes, I will go out with you. Now stop worrying so much."

"Oh really? So we can like- Kiss and shit now?"

"Slow down, dork." You teasingly punched him on the shoulder.

"But like, weren't you supposed to ask Bebe out?"

"Bebe? No, we're just friends. But you are my best friend, except you're not because you're my girlfriend now since I basically just asked you out and you said y-"

"I get it." You gave him a smooch on the cheek, seeing him off guard for the first time. You couldn't help but feel really happy. He was completely red now.

"O-Oh! And here's the flowers I bought. They look a bit weird because I ran around with them on my hand."

"They're beautiful, thank you Clyde."

"Yeah..." He scratched on the back of his head with a soft smile. Soon the bell rang, it was time for class. Now, you both were able to hold hands too.

Why aren’t you listening to what I’m saying?” You spoke boldly into the phone. You knew Yoongi was stubborn and not one to let up easily, so you anticipated his response. “Because you’re not fucking saying anything worth listening too.” And with that, the phone clicked, and he hung up.

A/N: Hi I’m back after what seems like forever. Did you guys miss me? kadljflsjflks. Also, I really tried focusing on the readers perspective in this part, the next part will focus more on Yoongi’s. Your back ached tremendously as you walked barefoot across the concrete. Expensive heels in your hand, that you bought specifically for tonight. Tear’s slowly flowing down your puffy cheeks, too wrapped up in your own thoughts to care what any by passers thought. You knew there was a cheapy motel down the street tonight, and that is where your feet started taking you. There was no way you were going home to Yoongi. Not after the way he spoke to you and made you feel. What were you ever suppose to say to him? You felt embarrassed that you were so excited for tonight, thinking about it all day and dolling yourself up, and he didn’t even give you the time of his day. Fuck, if he would even be home. He made it abundantly clear that he did not want to see you, or at least that is what he made you feel.

“Yoongi……where are you?” Your soft voice came through the phone. You were surprised he even picked up this time. It only took 4 text messages and 3 phone calls for him to answer. You normally would not call or text him so excessively, but tonight was supposed to be different. You thought, no, you KNEW he would make it to your date tonight. He promised you. Your guy’s relationship had been going through a rough patch, with Yoongi being consumed by work and BTS. You knew his job was demanding, but all you asked for was a little bit of his time. Hell, this date was not even your idea. It was HIS. He was determined to make up his recent neglect to you, and you were more than content to just settle on the couch for a movie night with him. But Yoongi thought you deserved more than that.

However, his actions did not match his thoughts. He did not make you feel like you deserved anything from him. As a matter of fact, right now, you felt the complete opposite.

You thought maybe he had just run into some traffic after it was 10 minutes past 8. You were very naïve and hopefully, and the thought of him standing you up or forgetting honestly did not cross your mind. Tonight, was going to be different. But then 10 minutes turned into 15 minutes. 25 minutes. 45 minutes. An hour. You started to feel nervous that tonight was going to be like the last several months. It would only be validation that whatever else was going on in Yoongi’s life, whether it be work or personal, was always going to take priority over you. When did your relationship become like this? When did Yoongi stop showing you he loved you? When did you stopped feeling loved? When did your relationship with Yoongi become so god damn ISOLATING and LONELY?

“What are you talking about? I’m at the studio.” Yoongi said. And with that, feelings of humiliation and sadness filled your veins as your heart pumped through your body. Of course, tonight was not going to be different. It had not been different for the last 2 months. But this time you had hope because Yoongi planned all this. Not you. Yoongi had always been a man of his word, especially when it came to you. Had your relationship come down to this? Did your relationship hold such unimportance that a simple promise really meant nothing to him anymore?

“What about….tonight? You know? The date you set up for us….” You do not know why you felt nervous responding back to him. Maybe it was because you knew he was at the studio, most likely working. But why should you feel bad? He was not supposed to be working. He was supposed to be with you. “Oh. That. Yah, we can just reschedule it.” Yoongi said calmy, with no concern or panic that he forgot, lacing his voice. Your heart just kept shattering, as you suddenly felt unimportant in Yoongi’s life. Something that he could just push to the back burner and forget about like it was nothing. Maybe you were nothing to him anymore. “B-but….Tonight was supposed to be different Yoongi. I was really looking forward to seeing you. I just want to see you.” Your lips started trembling, but you swore to yourself you would not let Yoongi know you were on the verge of tears. Besides, would he even care if he knew that he had caused the tears making their appearance in your eyes?

“Well, I don’t know what to tell you, Y/N. I got caught up in the studio. We can reschedule for the weekend.” Why was he being so cold towards you right now? This was not the Yoongi that you knew. The Yoongi that loved you. Sure, on the outside Yoongi seemed cold and distant, but with you, he was so much different. He was soft. He was deep. He was passionate and incredibly detailed orientated. He cared about you. Where was that Yoongi? “But Yoongi…. You planned this. I even bought a new outfit to wear for you and everything.”

Yoongi was getting annoyed. He already told you that you guys could go on the weekend. What weren’t you understanding? He snapped. “Well fuck, Y/N! I will repay you for the clothes and whatever the fuck else you bought for tonight. I told you we could reschedule for this weekend. Is it difficult for you to understand?!” He snapped through the phone. Why was he being so mean to you right now? All you wanted to do was see Yoongi? Were you such a selfish person for wanting to see your boyfriend, even if just for a few minutes? “I don’t care about the clothes, Yoongi! I just wanted to see you! You were so confused. What had just happened? Did you do something to Yoongi you were not aware about, why was he so angry at you? The motel you were heading to was probably gross and dirty, but you did not even care. You had spent so much time getting ready for your date with Yoongi, and then the argument, if you could even call it that. You were exhausted and you just wanted to pass out and forget about what happened with Yoongi. You wanted to forget about Yoongi. Just like he had forgotten about you.
