Oh also, since I think you’ll like this information with your “Mikey is the louder one” propaganda, he literally calls Donnie “bud” in Minotaur Maze… made me laugh I love Mikey acting like he’s grown
i need to amass a COLLECTION to spread my propaganda... the two moments of him worrying about donnie's shell in the movie, also the "don't worry, i wont let us die, im a mystic warrior!"/him trying to use his mystic hands before donnie pushes him down, shutting down donnie when he suggests getting raph and leo in repo mantis, being the more outspoken one in one man's junk and making it into a "we" thing, and also that one moment in man vs sewer where mikey starts shaking him going "STOP FREAKING OUT DONNIE!!!!" while donnie is literally chillin comes to mind
#ask#rottmnt#there's probably more im not thinking of#always on my “mikey would be more protective of donnie than the other way around” shit i eat it for breakfast dinner and lunch#i think it goes both ways really but mikey really just strikes me more of the type to go BACK OFF than donnie imo#the two times he jumps in to protect mikey in the movie he is utterly silent. mikey's definitely more outspoken and aggressive here#and i think it feeds really well into the idea of donnie having a complex about his shell/physical fragility#to think about it being something mikey keeps in mind just like their older brothers do#considering the emphasis put on it in the movie but also just in general i think it makes sense#both for mikey's character and donnie's issues

Ranking the yandere rottmnt boys by how likely they are to kidnap their darling
Just a little crumb to keep myself from losing my mind while staring at google docs this late at night. Sorry if this is super bad, it's way later at night than I'm used to staying up and election night stressed me the hell out.
Donnie.
I have absolutely no doubts that he's going to at least try very very hard to kidnap you. And honestly, I doubt it would be too hard. He's a highly trained, mystic wielding, tech inventing, mutant ninja turtle. And on top of that, he's very fond of planning absolutely everything. And to finish it all off, I think it would be once in a blue moon that he actually treats his darling as an equal. He already thinks he's better than almost everyone, and when he gets obsessed, he has to make himself feel better about it somehow, so he decides to cope by thinking you need him instead of it being the other way around. As a result, he treats you a bit like a very glorified songbird, and songbirds.. well, aren't they usually put in cages anyway? You won't even care after a week or two of adjustment! (He will get upset if you aren't content with being kidnapped by then, by the way.)
2. Raph
The only reason Raph is behind Donnie on this list is because I think he would take longer to justify it to himself. He thinks you're fragile, that you need to be protected from the harsh world! I mean, he barely trusts his youngest brother, who is also a highly trained ninja, to do a simple mission on his own. How do you think he'll treat you after the obsession sets in properly? Not really as an equal, I'll tell you that. He's much nicer to you than Donnie would be, but he still doesn't respect you enough to let you handle yourself, even if that's not how he sees his behavior. At the same time though... isn't he supposed to be a hero? Do heroes kidnap their darlings? Or would this make him the dragon... In the end though, he'll decide that he's fine with being the dragon so long as he knows that the rest of the world won't be able to run their metaphorical (or maybe literal, depending on how unpopular you are in the area) pitchforks right through your heart.
3. Mikey
Mikey wouldn't just.. outright kidnap his darling, I think. I think it would start with a fun sleepover at the lair! Then he insists you stay just one more day! You're having so much fun, after all! Don't you wanna hang out with your best friend for a while longer? You agree, of course- him and his brothers have been nothing but nice to you ever since you met them, and their company is always a delight, so it's worth a shot, isn't it? Then suddenly, the weekend is over, and school's ready to chew you up again, so you do leave. Then it's finally the weekend again! You've heard of a fun game from your school friends, so you plan on trying it when you get home this afternoon- it's friday, after all- when you get a text from Mikey in the group chat with his brothers. He wants you to come over again- and, of course, you say "sure". Not like you can't just play the game on sunday, or when you go home saturday. The sleepover flies by, but you're a bit weary by the time you're pretty sure you're supposed to go home- but here's Mikey, and he's so sure that you promised you'd stay at the lair until sunday again! So, you give in. There's always next weekend, right...? I think you get the pattern, but eventually, he'll be keeping you at the lair 24/7, and you'll be rubbing at your weary eyes wondering how you got into this mess. Sometimes you can even see his brothers shoot you worried looks.
4. Leo
Leo would only kidnap his darling as a last resort, and I think it's because of two reasons. One, he's the brother who sees you closest to being an equal (Donnie and Raph constantly go against your personal autonomy and Mikey puts you on an extremely restricting pedestal), though to be fair, that's not a high bar to pass- and two he much prefers to have some sort of interesting conflict to be present because he finds it entertaining. His life is a weird, morally incorrect soap opera at this point, and he's the number one viewer. Kidnapping would only really happen with him if he thought you were either seriously leaving him (moving or getting into a serious relationship with someone else) or if the circumstances around him got too stressful and he needed something to cling to for any semblance of support outside his brothers (who, at that point, would probably also be super stressed). Think post movie, when the city is still recovering. Man, he was probably freaking out thinking that you might've died to the kraang.

INGRESSIVE INHALE
I. Need. 2018 Raphael. DATE HEADCANONS
(only if you want :3)
☀︎⋆.ೃ࿔*:・Lovely Sights☀︎⋆.ೃ࿔*:・
ᯓᡣ𐭩warnings: none, enjoy :)!
ᯓᡣ𐭩 VOID MY DEARRRRR ❤️❤️❤️ I GOTCHU BAE 🤪 but fr, thx for requesting! (GUYS STOP SAYING "IF YOU WANT TO" GRGGRGRGGR I WOULDVE DELETED THE ASK IF I DIDNT WANT TO USYGSUYGSUHVUSGV) (this was from months ago, we are now divorced. croak you old witch/jjjj)
ᯓᡣ𐭩 Ohhhhh, Raph has a datemateee~
Raph is a huge guy, so that's where all the love's gonna be at today.
He loves it when you sleep on top of him when you guys cuddle, to feel that small pressure on him makes him sleep as well.
While he doesn't like holding you per say, he loves it when you hang onto him.
It makes him feel like he doesn't always have to be aware of himself holding you, and only the things around you two.
Raph feels comforted when you just hold his face, and close your eyes..
Whether it is a breathing practice, or when he needs to calm down, he always likes the feeling of your hands against his face.
Double points if you scratch his neck between those two spikes-!
Oh man, you're the best at those.
I feel like if Raph were approached with a situation where he's feeling possessive, he'd get all shy and nervous about it.
He feels as if it shouldn't be right for him to feel that way, I mean, y-you're already perfect so- why'd you wanna huffy puffy giant over your shoulder?
Nuh uh! He resists it all! Okay, maybe glare at the woman staring at you, and the dude biting his lip.
What's up with everyone and trying to snatch you up!? All the other people were wuss, and Raph got you first!
Eyes off punk!
Sometimes, when you're sitting on the couch, Raph just likes to plant his head on your lap and watch you do whatever you're doing.
The way your face scrunches up when a main character does something stupid.
Or when you giggle at a short video.
And when you subconsciously start rubbing your hand against the back of his neck.
It makes him shiver, with a deep rumble, and relax more into your warmth.
Sometimes you don't even know it, but Raph unknowingly takes your arm and just rests his teeth there.
Not even biting it, just resting his jaw between your arm.
Sometimes he adds pressure to feel the gummy-squish as he nibbles softly.
"Raph, Honey, you're doing it again." You'd say, smiling a bit as Donnie went on to explain what the mission was.
"Mhoin' wha'?" He muffled, looking down at your arm and letting go immediately.
He gets super embarrassed afterwards.
On the line of embarrassed, the MOMENT you leave the lair he's all giggly n stuff.
"Bro who gotchu smilin' like that?"
He brothers tease him so much for it, but he can't help but take it because ALL of what they're saying is TRUE.
Poor guy is lovesick, and all you did was make kandi together :)
Sometimes he likes to gush to Mikey about your most recent date, or the outfit you wore today, and the way you smiled while talking about your favorite food.
Mikey was eatin' it up. He declared Raph 'Downbad, Certified Love Chaser.'
Leo would side eye with every rant, pretending to throw up at every compliment Raph prayed your way.
Like bro, keep that to yourself thank yew very much.
If Raph ever talks to Donnie about you, he would simply be confused.
Why is Raph talking about crushes to Donnie? His heart belongs to the one and only Atomic Lass.
With all those words, he could literally program a bot. But he lets him talk, never really listens though.
I don't think i've ever covered this part of him, but how would Savage Raph feel about you?
Me personally, I see Savage Raph as a defense mechanism to protect himself when he truly thinks he's alone.
And in turn, it sort of makes him more turtle than teenager you know?
Let's look at this two ways;
If he did think you were a threat, he would probably hurt you severely. When snapping turtles find people as threats, they either hide or bite them.(I know many people don't like hearing that, but I think it's true)
If he didn't, then he would protect you as well. Maybe even huddle himself around you to create a barrier between you and the world. When snapping turtles want to show affection, they protect their mates from harm.
Do you see the vision?
Which brings me to my next point:
While Raph never wants to intentionally hurt you, ever, it still happens. Savage Raph, for example.
You guys will find yourselves in moments where you nick your hands or shoulders during cuddling, and Raph apologizes heavily.
He'll panic first, not knowing what to do because his mind's run a blank.
But after a lil pep talk with mind Raph, he gets himself together and grabs you a bandaid from his dresser, not before cleaning the scratch though.
When you guys train together, his punches can leave giant bruises on you and he feels guilty every single time.
You swear you're fine! You could take more!!
But Raph seeing you breath heavily will be like "Nope! Nuh uh, you're going to the med-room. I ain't fightin' you until you take a break!"
All Raph knows, he has a lovely sight to see everyday.
He couldn't believe it took so long to find it.
tehe I made it extra long for you<333

Ninja's Heartstrings
Summary:
Leo and Raph are in love with you, and they both show it in their own unique ways, sparking constant clashes that make Donnie and Mikey uncomfortable, causing conflicts within the group.
Beyond enjoying their attention, you begin to realize that you have strong feelings for both of them, and you find yourself torn between whom to choose. But one day, it dawns on you: Aren't brothers supposed to share everything?
WARNINGS: NSFW (suggestive) / part one of two of an eventual trio-smut / +18 MDNI / Leo and Raph are in their late twenties /
Master Splinter always said that a ninja must be observant. After so many years of hearing that statement, Leo noticed he applied that principle not only on the battlefield but also in his personal life, which sometimes left him wondering whether he had incorporated it as a part of his personality or if he simply couldn't help but scrutinize things in detail when it was about you.
He paid attention to the way your hair moved when you walked, to the glow in your eyes when you were happy. He noticed the way you frowned when displeased and sighed when disappointed. He marveled at how absolutely ravishing you looked no matter what you wore. It wasn't fair how you could weaken him without even trying.
Leo couldn't help the look of excitement in his eyes as they followed you when you entered the lair. And certainly, he couldn't stop his heart from pounding like crazy when you noticed and waved at him. However, it was Raphael who you approached.
He casually held you by the waist as you showed him the film you had brought for the usual movie night. It was only then that Raph darted a quick look at Leo across the room. A sly smirk came with it. Of course he knew. Leo understood right there that his feelings for you slipped through him like water through fingers. Whenever he looked at you, his gaze held such a depth of sentiment that it was impossible to conceal.
Of course, Raph knew, and he made it very clear that he felt the exact same way about you, and he wasn’t giving you up. It was evident in every protective move he made around you: casually placing his hand over the sharp edges of the furniture whenever you passed too close, serving you the largest slice of pizza, or giving you the bigger piece when splitting a piece of chocolate in half. He would take you home each night after your visits to the lair on his motorbike and come back smiling like a true fool.
Leo sighed, resigned. He loved his brother and would be more than happy to share his contentment at being with someone as wonderful as you. Yeah, maybe that was the right thing to do.
"Hey, aren't you coming?" you turned to ask.
You smiled at him as if your heart was physically calling for him. Ah, crap. He wouldn’t stand seeing you smile like that to anyone else. That day, the leader in blue set his mind on one thing and one thing only: he would fairly win you over. Leo grinned back at you with a dangerous glow in his eyes.
"Yeah, make some room for me."
*****.
“She’s gonna be here soon,” Mikey said as he arranged the cushions on the living room sofa. He had already cleaned up the empty pizza boxes and now Donnie was placing them in a black plastic bag along with other trash remains.
The gentle, yellow-tinged warmth light permeated through the grooves in the ceiling, barely kissing the furniture surface.
“Yeah, hope things don’t get weird again,” Donnie said.
He spoke in a somewhat whining tone, as he rolled his eyes. Mikey chuckled.
“Tell me about it. Which of them will snap first this time?”
“My bet is on Raph.”
“Hmm, I don’t know, Leo was this close last time!”
Mikey made a tiny gesture with his fingers as he giggled to the thought of Leo’s deep frown when you chose Raph to cuddle with while watching the movie the last time you were there.
“I was close to what?” the leader interjected, arms crossed. His gaze was skeptical as his tone curious.
“Oh, you know, demanding a duel combat with Raph owing to jealousy,” Donnie answered as he tied a knot in the black plastic bag.
Leonardo's expression darkened.
“What?”
Mikey gulped, feeling somewhat uncomfortable with the abrupt change in the atmosphere, but he remained quiet.
“Come on, don’t play dumb. You know what I’m talking about.''
"Who's playin' dumb?"
Raphael entered the living room then, pop-corn on one hand, a soda can in the other. His voice was so glowy it made his good mood palpable.
“No one. Donatello is just overthinking stuff,” Leo deflected.
Raph let out a closed-mouthed chuckle. “When isn't he?”
Donnie gaped, offended.
“Excuse me?! I’m not overthinking anything. I’m just stating the facts.” Donatello whined while putting off the bag.
“Which are?” Raph asked while leaning on the opposite wall on which Leo was standing.
"You both need to cease displaying such—" he paused for a moment, attempting to pinpoint the precise words to encapsulate the entire situation. "Enticing behavior towards her!"
"What?" Raph managed to force out a scoffing chuckle to mask he had choked on his soda.
“Oh, please,” Donatello said sardonically.
Raph was about to retort but Mikey spoke first.
“Look, we’re just saying it’s obvious you’re both into her, and sometimes it’s uncomfortable to be trapped in the middle of—”
“Of whatever mating rituals you’re putting out to win her over,” Donatello finished, tired of feeling cringed every time you visited the lair.
The door swung open just then, before anyone else could utter another word. You strode to the room, and all heads turned in your direction.
"Hey, guys!" you greeted with a cheerful tone, but you couldn't ignore the heaviness in the atmosphere settling onto your shoulders. The four turtles exchanged a knowing look. "Did I miss something?"
“No! no, we were just having a… creative discussion” Mikey said quickly, smiling. His fingers fidgeted close to his plastron.
“Couldn’t decide which movie to watch tonight,” Leo said in a much more smooth tone. “Think you can help with that, doll?”
His voice was velvety as he addressed you. Rapahel rolled his eyes, and Donatello murmured something you didn’t quite catch.
“I could bring up some options, I guess.”
"Be my guest," Leo extended his hand to escort you to the sofa, but Raph swiftly slapped it away before you could grasp it.
"She knows the way. You're not a damn host," Raph growled under his breath.
"Oh my God, I can't take this anymore. I'm calling it quits for tonight," Donnie declared, turning to face you. "It's wonderful to see you, but I've got some lab work to wrap up. Enjoy the evening, and make yourself at home." Donnie bid you farewell with an apologetic smile. He shot his brothers a glare of frustration as he left.
“I’m off too… places to be, pizza to eat, you know!” Mikey let out a chuckle before vanishing from sight.
You stood there, utterly perplexed. After a few moments of processing how everyone had essentially fled the movie night, you shifted your attention to Leo and Raph, your expression demanding answers. Impatience grew with each passing second as your foot tapped the floor in rhythm.
"Well? What's going on?"
“They’re party poppers, don’t mind them. Now c'mon, sit with me.” Raph placed his arm around your shoulders casually, offering you popcorn with the other. Leo was about to make a comment but you spoke first.
“Actually…” you said slipping away from his hold smoothly, “I want to sit with Leo tonight.”
Raphael clenched his jaw, “Fine, whatever. What are we watching?”
You frowned at the sudden harsh tone, but didn’t really understand the problem. You had indeed sat beside him last time. Was he…?
“Come on Raph, don’t be a sore loser.”
"I ain't lost nothin' yet," he shot back, with a determined tone.
"Hey, uh, guys?" Your voice wavered with a mix of uncertainty and squeakiness.
They both shifted their attention to you, guilt flashing across their faces as they registered your puzzled expression. Raphael let out a sigh.
"Ya know? I actually gotta kick some butts tonight."
He handed you the popcorn bowl as he finished the soda, strolling toward the door.
“What?! you’re leaving too?” You asked, reaching out to him but Leo grasped your hand, stopping you in your tracks.
“Let him go, he needs to cool down,” the leader whispered to you.
"Sorry, sugar, catch ya next time... unless ya wanna swap flicks for somethin' more thrillin'," he smirked, taking a few steps back to get a good look at you. Raphael adored the way your eyes lit up at his words, but he wasn't thrilled about Leo's hand holding you in place.
“That’s tempting, but I really wanted to do something chill tonight. See you around Raph!''
He shrugged, seemingly dismissive. “Your loss.”
It wasn’t visible but the amount of self-control that took him to just go was huge. He would rather leave than seeing you glued to his brother's side all night and he knew better than trying to make you change your mind. Additionally, starting a fight could make matters worse, and he didn’t feel like falling from your good side.
“Now, what if you show me your favorite movie?” Leo smiled, but this time there was something more to his smile.
*IIII*
You both were sitting on the couch, his arm over your shoulders and your head leaned against his own. Outer-thighs barely touching. His breathing was even, plastron moving calmly. You hadn't really gotten used to watching it up close. It was pretty. Marked with small indentations which made it look like you could run your nails over them… and so you did, jolting him a bit, but Leo just glanced at you, flashing a smile before returning his eyes to the tv. He stood still despite his heart hammering loudly. Could you hear it? He tensed.
You were absorbed touching him, imagining –not for the first time– how would that part of him feel against your own. Bare skin to skin, your nipples rubbing on the hard surface of his chest. Your breath hitched. It wasn’t right to have this kind of fantasies when he was right beside you, yet you couldn’t help yourself. Your mind simply took life of its own and started to produce several indecorous images.
It was like that night with Rapahel, the other day.
Both of you were riding on his bike, he told you he wanted to show you one of his favorite spots to watch the city lights and you traveled hugging him from behind, chest against his shell. Scratches and marks of combat decorated his carapace. His muscly shoulders barely peeked from ahead and you would have given everything to just let your hands wander his entire back.
“Well, here we are,” he said, stopping the motorbike before he jumped off in one smooth movement.
“An abandoned building?” you said skeptically, following him to the creepy dark entrance.
“Scared?” he teased, looking back at you with a smirk.
“As if.”
It was indeed quite gloomy, Raph's presence dispelled your fears. Naturally, you'd rather meet your end than admit it out loud and inflate his ego to an even more dangerous extent.
He entered, and you trailed closely. The space resembled an abandoned hotel lobby, with wood marred by moss and the steel of the staircase corroding. A peculiar blend of natural light and the faint reflections of neon-glowing advertisements scarcely penetrated through the shattered windows. Somehow, you thought, it was something along with Rapahel aesthetics.
You two ascended the ladder, and with each step, your body pulsed with anxiety, the thought crossing your mind that perhaps the stairs wouldn't bear the weight of both of you since they creaked strangely with each step. But those were unfounded worries. Soon, you reached the top floor, and Raphael swung open the door that led to the roof. New York City at night, seen from the pinnacle of an abandoned building, offered a breathtaking view.
He perched on the edge and extended his hand to you. Without hesitation, you took it, settling beside him, your legs dangling over the cars bustling along the avenue below.
“Raph this is amazing!” you said, unable to repress a smile.
“I know” he hesitated before continuing, “I used to come here a lot… back then.”
You turned to him, his expression was deep, and you decided not to let go of his hand.
“When you were a merciless vigilante?” you tried to joke and he smiled, but it didn’t quite reach his eyes.
“Come one, I wasn’t ‘merciless’ I actually gave them many chances to withdraw.” he lied, jestingly “Guess they loved having their asses kicked.”
You laughed at that and this time he seemed more relaxed.
“Or maybe they stupidly thought they could defeat you”
"They should've known better. I'm faster and stronger than 'em. Always have been," he boasted with that air of superiority that you adored. "Besides, no one stands a chance against the Nightwatcher."
"Or big metal turtle, like Casey called it," you chuckled. "Man, I would've loved to see you in that armor," you mused absentmindedly after a couple of seconds, and he shot you a smirk.
"I still got it. I might wear it if you ask me real nice," he said smoothly, with that low tone that sent shivers down your spine and made your thighs clench. Yet, you didn't let it show.
"Ooh... please show me?" you said, offering him your most charming smile. Raph laughed, his voice raspy and deep.
"You'll have to do better than that."
"Come on, Raph, you want me to beg?" you protested, shifting carefully to avoid falling. His eyes sparkled, and his smirk grew wider.
"Fine," you whined, "could you please try on the armor for me?" Raphael scoffed.
"That was still kinda weak, but I suppose it'll have to do." He started to move as if to stand up, but you instinctively interlocked your fingers with his, not even thinking about it. His eyes flicked down to your hands and then back to you, questioning.
"Not tonight, though. I'm too comfy to move," you remarked. As you said that, you pressed your side against his, and he gently tightened his grip on your fingers. It felt wonderful to be close like that, in a peculiar kind of embrace amid the heights, incredibly intimate and heartwarming. A few seconds passed during which you both simply gazed at the city and how far the streets stretched. Then, he softly called your name, his hold on your hand trembling slightly.
"I've been meanin' to tell ya somethin'," he began, and you looked at him with a small smile.
"What?"
Raph moved closer, his eyes ensnaring yours with their intensity. There was something in them, a gaze concealing a sentiment he'd been bottling up until now, much like you had. He lowered his face, resting his forehead against yours, and your noses brushed against each other.
"You can tell me anything," your voice barely more than a longing whisper. Your mouth drew nearer to his with each passing moment, your half-closed eyes revealing your desire.
The high-pitched wail of a siren, accompanied by the flicker of red and blue lights, made Raph growl as he reluctantly tore himself away from you.
"Duty calls." He breathed with flushed cheeks before clearing his throat.
Something – someone – shocked your arm repeatedly, pulling you out of the sweet memory. Leo was gazing at you with a mix of amusement and doubt, as if he were anticipating something from you.
"I'm sorry, what?" you said, blinking a little.
"I asked if you'd like more popcorn." He gestured to the empty bowl, and you gasped. Had you devoured it all by yourself, lost in your own mental movie?
"Oh no! No, thank you." You felt heat burning the back of your neck as color crept to your cheeks when you realized that he might be asking because he was the one who wanted more, since you had selfishly eaten it all on your own. "B-but if you want more, I can go get some."
Leo chuckled at you before smiling sweetly. "It's fine, I'm good."
"You know, there's something I'll never understand about romantic comedies," you changed the subject as the movie continued. You couldn't quite keep quiet now, perhaps due to nervousness. "And it's why they only seem to make you yearn for a lover so perfect."
Leo raised a brow.
"How's that?" he asked, leaning closer, and you could feel his cheek resting on your head. You thought he must look cute, eyes still on the TV as your chest tightened with the desire to hug him.
Slut.
The thought came so fast and so forcefully, crashing onto you from the back of your head to your eyes, throbbing. Slut. Hadn't you just been remembering how you felt in Raph's arms a literal second ago? Then why? Why did what you were feeling right now seem so close to that, if not even the same...
"Well, th-the protagonist's romantic interest is always too stunning for real-life standards. There's no one that perfect," you continued the conversation, trying to block your own thoughts.
Leo shifted to look right into your eyes. "I wouldn't be so sure about that," he said, flashing you a charming smile. You blushed even harder this time.
"Oooh, don't tell me you think you've found the one," you teased, trying to escape the cringe of your own mind without realizing you were digging your own grave.
Leo kept his little grin and nodded. "I think I may have, yes."
"How's she like?" You knew he was talking about you; all of his body language screamed so. Leo seemed to think for a second.
"Too stunning for real-life standards," he said with a sly look, and you lightly smacked him on the arm with the back of your hand while chuckling. But then he added in a small whisper, "She doesn't seem to mind."
You frowned, "Mind what?"
Leo shrugged, his gaze suddenly fixed on the TV. You weren't supposed to hear that.
"Leo?" you prompted.
"We are ninjas," he started, "and we have acclimated to the idea of living forever banished in the shadows. Alone. Not only because of the secret oath to protect this city, but because of the way we look. Whenever we're together, she looks at me as if..." he locked his gaze on yours again, filled with deep yearning and adoration, "as if she doesn't mind.."
He wasn't talking only about appearances. You deserved someone who could spend time with you during the daytime too. You should get to be with a guy who's able to accompany you to family dinners, publicly celebrate your relatives' or friends' birthdays, heck, someone who could take you to your graduation dinner or job promotion celebrations. He couldn't do all of that, but you already knew, and you didn't seem to care.
"And when she's with me, I feel like I could actually be bold enough..." he leaned closer, eyes half-lidded in craving. His face was now just two inches away from yours, "to kiss her."
The glimmer of his gaze was drawing you into a warmer world, one in which you knew you'd be safe within his arms. Your past worries were now forgotten, lost in the midst of his shallow breaths.
"Yeah? So why don't you try it out?"
"I might just do that now."
"My son."
Both of you jolted back at the sound of Master Splinter's voice, followed by a throat clearing. You felt your whole body turn red with embarrassment. How long had he been there?!
Leo's expression was priceless, so startled despite his ninja skills. It was so funny that it almost made you forget your embarrassment.
"We were just watching a movie."
Despite his age, Leo still felt the need to explain himself but didn't move, and he didn't allow you to either. It was his way of acknowledging that he was a grown adult sharing a moment with... well, what were you to him? More importantly, what was he to you? The worries came back strongly, throbbing like a headache.
"A movie that has finished, I suppose?" his dad said, gesturing to the black screen. Leo flashed a look before you spoke.
"Yes, it was very entertaining. Thank you for having me here, Master Splinter," The mutant rat held a serene expression, apparently pleased with your words, "but it's getting late. I should take my leave."
Leo reflexively squeezed your body against his and let go as soon as he realized.
"You don't have to go, dear; my novel is about to start, and you both can stay and watch it with me," he said affably. However, upon noticing his son's expression, he quickly added in a sigh, "Or you can move your date to your room."
Date. The world seemed to strike a chord on you both.
"Actually, I do have some things to do at home. I'm sorry," Leonardo's disappointment was visible through every line of expression on his face. He straightened up, however, and gave you an understanding nod.
"I'll take you home," he told you, moving toward the part of the lair where they stored the turtle-van.
"No! I mean, no, thank you. I think it's better if I go by myself." Leo frowned, doing his best to hide the growing panic burning in his chest. Were you having regrets about the moment you shared just now?
"Thank you anyway, Leo. Goodnight, Master Splinter."
**IIII**
The sound of the rain falling over the roof of your place was exactly what you needed to calm your nerves. You lay on your bed, watching the little drops drip down the glass window. It had been three days since you were in the lair. During this time, you strategically ignored the calls of both Leonardo and Raphael.
You needed time to think about what to do. By this point, it was undeniable that you felt something very strong for both of them. It made no sense to avoid it or deny it. The only thing you had to do now was decide. You huffed, hating the fact you couldn't have both. And then it hit you: why can't you? Who says one must love only one person?
You grabbed your phone from your purse. If there was someone who could help you confess your feelings to both of them and somehow convince them a poly-relationship could work without causing a war, that was April.

okay okay okay-
this is gonna be a pretty long post with how much I’m gonna ramble so prepare yourselves
hear me out-
…
you listening?
…
okay okay
ready?
…
…I made my own rise designs…-
(INDIVIDUAL DESIGNS + SRUFF BELOW CUT) Eeeeeee!! (YES, LEO IS TALLER- buuuut the order is oldest to youngest so, Donnie is the slightly older twin (Leo denies this))
For all of them I mostly took inspiration from both pre- and post-shredder designs from the show.
Individual ramblings now!!
Raph:
For the big guy, not a whole lot changed! There’s a lot of common design choices: big spiky tail, damage to one eye, etc.
I did however want to bring back the white bandages from pre-shredder, since he was the only brother to have them. I also thought he needed more red in his design, so I sprinkled a bit extra in there.
I moved the X bandage on his plastron down to his knee since the crack took up a decent amount of space.
The scar on his leg I imagine is from an incident from when they were still pretty young, like someone accidentally playing somewhere not safe, and something falls so he jumped in and got sliced. Raph will always protect his little brothers <3 Big body for a big heart.
Also instead of Leo becoming the full leader after Raph, I think they do best in a co-leadership (ofc with input from both Donnie and Mikey, they all listen to each other). Stepping in when the other needs it and both of them being able to be more silly at times.(they both deserve it)
Donnie:
He probably has the most changes/design features-
It might be a tad uncommon, but I made Donnie a lot bulkier than Leo. Personally, I think his battle shell would be REALLY HEAVY and since they’re bioengineered super-soldiers, he put on some muscle. It wouldn’t just be his battle shell either- this version is very into mechanical engineering and builds big stuff, lifting heavy metal all day. The mechanical engineering is also why his hands are ALWAYS DIRTY. he wouldn’t be bothered by it since he’s just used to it by now, but his hands are practically permanently stained with oil and grease. (He has a bad habit of wiping his face while working- which makes his mask always dirty too)
he got the scars on his forearms from a little lab accident when he was fairly young- there was a failure in some wiring and it caused some components of what he was working on to explode, so his hands + lower arms are lighter in color from the scarring.
now his markings were fun to come up with. OF COURSE the iconic chin stripe had to be there, but I ended up making all of his markings symmetrical, as well as more continuous lines. (The markings on the sides of his face continue until about his eyebrows and originate from the shoulders)
as a trade-off for making Don short and stockier, I made him the older twin :) He’s also more of a heavy hitter like Raph, with the ability to summon an entire artillery and all that.
Leo:
Leo is pretty lanky! I wanted him to be built more for speed and chaos (it’s what he’s best known for imo). Along with being the fastest, he’s also the family medic- as many others have done (wow so original)
one thing I don’t really see super often is him wearing a leg/knee brace, and I mean for pretty much forever. Along with the shell scuff wiping away the patterns on it, I think he’d need some kind of permanent ’crutch’ to be at 100% again. (Both injuries from Kraang) (if he’s having an off-day where his leg is flaring up, he just relies on his portals more)
even if he had his shell markings scraped off, he got some new stripes! (Again the iconic chin stripes) new ones have appeared and some of the older yellow ones now have a hint of red. (Now 3 per arm and 2 per leg)
Also traded his single cross-body strap for a full X, for dual wielding his katanas. (It’s just more secure- especially with how quickly he moves around and all of the flashy tricks along the way)
He most definitely runs it Donnie’s face that he’s taller (and Donnie always responds with how he’s stronger) (then Leo goes to speed- etc. etc.)
Mikey:
so, obviously, Mikey has scars from opening the portal to save Leo. (He and Donnie match <3) but now his plastron stickers ALSO mimic scars from his other brothers! Red crack for raph and blue stripes where the worst of Leo’s scuff is on his shell. Why? Because Mikey is the one that holds the family together, and it makes him feel further connected to his brothers.
speaking of connection- his ninpo is now so intense that his markings ignite in flames. Thus, his mask(s) are always charred. The eye-holes are larger (freckles are what ignite it) and the tails have sudden jagged cutoffs + holes.
for his gear, he wanted some nice leather instead of black or orange straps. (Donnie fire-proofed it, but when he asked if Mikey wanted to do the same for his masks he refused- he enjoys the new style) he now has a cross-body strap (like Leo used to) and leg straps for his nunchucks.
also like Leo, he’s more lanky for his gymnastics and wild fighting-style. They’ve both got the agile build, as Mikey is 2nd fastest. I also gave him a short and stubby tail- it’s too cute!
okay I’m finally done I think- thanks for letting me word vomit <3

A Family Shield: The Ultimate Protector - TMNT (2024 -) Issue #1 Review
**Spoilers Ahead**
In Volume 1, Issue #141 of TMNT (2012 - 2024) Raphael was arrested and falsely accused of murdering someone in Mutant Town. Their sister Jenika had to bail him out of jail. Therefore, it was very interesting to see that the first issue of Volume 2 has Raphael in prison this time although we never know why he is in there.
He has been in trouble with the law twice, even though the first time he was cleared of all wrongdoing. For most casual fans, this wouldn't be surprising at all. Out of all the brothers, it would only make sense that an “angry bruiser who enjoys fighting” would end up being the one to eventually end up in prison. However, I tend to disagree. I have always stood firm behind my belief that Raphael is way more complicated than people give him credit for.
Raphael cares so much about those that he lets get close to him, that he is terrified of losing everyone and being all alone again. He is overprotective, fiercely loyal and when anyone he loves is in danger, his desire to protect and save everyone comes out in anger and rage because the feelings are so intense and overwhelming. His ex-girlfriend Alopex understands this perfectly.
TMNT Volume 1 Issue #46
His anger and rage becomes even stronger when he feels like he failed to protect his family. Similar to Mikey who is constantly dealing with his own demons and self-loathing, Raphael also battles his own set of demons. He is extremely hard on himself and sees himself as weak; never strong enough to protect anyone as is made evident when his brother Donatello dies after being brutally smashed to pieces by BeBop and Rocksteady.
Even with Donatello’s soul being transferred into Metalhead till Dr Honeycutt could make him a new shell, Raphael was not able to see this robot as his brother Donnie. To Rapahel, his brother was dead and he felt responsible because he wasn't there to help fight BeBop and Rocksteady. Even though he was fighting with his brothers elsewhere to help save the world.
TMNT Volume 1 Issue #46
This panel here shows just how much inner turmoil Raphael is feeling and it takes Mikey to call him out on his attitude and behavior. (Side note, in the comics Mikey is the only one who can call Raphael out on his anger without repercussions. Even though Casey Jones is Raphael's best friend, he has always been close with Mikey. They are the physical forms of yin and yang.)
In the last panel you can see Raphael realizing his brother is right and is regretting his anger, however being the stubborn teenager that he is, he refuses to let the others see his brief moment of weakness. He is the strong one; the family shield; the protector and showing any weakness negates his role in the family.
Now towards the end of Volume 1 we do see major growth from Raphael when the family decides together to pursue their own interests; the final cut in the only single thread that was still holding the family together.
In the final scenes of Issue #144, we see this beautiful image of Raphael riding his bike with tears in his eyes as he leaves everyone he loves behind.
So now we can get back to Volume 2 Issue #1 which from what I can gather a year or longer has passed since the separation. It would seem like whatever character growth Sophie Campbell wrote went to the wayside, but thanks to the great writing of Jason Aaron, who as I said earlier did a great job of getting inside Raphael's head, he isn't who he used to be anymore. Yes, he is still rough around the edges, but compared to who he was in the beginning, he has for the most part been able to control his anger and rage.
The few panels below aren't only beautifully drawn by Rafael Albuquerque and colored by Ronda Pattison, but were really emotional even with Jason Aaron only writing a few words. It almost broke me knowing just how much Rapahel used to love his brothers and now, due to whatever happened between them, he would much rather forget about his family.
Yea, that got me deep in the feels. As the issue continues, Jason continues to go into more depth of Raphael’s psyche. His writing continues to back up my views on who exactly Rapahel is and why it seems like anger is always his driving motivation while at the same time wishing he wasn't always so angry.
As he is being arrested by the prison guards after fighting the Foot, he comes to a realization that once again his family is in trouble. Despite stating previously he wanted to forget about his brothers and the good times they had before their family broke up, he instantly falls back into his role as being the family shield. He knows what he needs to do, even if it means having to come to terms with his past and possibly facing the anger of his brothers. His unwavering loyalty and love as always is what motivates him, even if it is shrouded in the image of anger.
Most people would think it would be Mikey who tries to bring the family together, especially after he was the lone survivor in The Last Ronin. However, in this universe it actually makes more sense for Rapahel to get the family back together. He needs the four of them to be together once more so he can not only fight alongside them when they are at their strongest, but to be there to protect them at all costs. Thus is the burden he bares being the family shield.

Can I get some Uncle Tello- Baby/Toddler Casey Jones Jr bonding fluff? Their bond is just so cute and funny to me & I just keep thinking about Donatello "I don't like kids, but if anyone even breathes wrong in Casey Jr's direction I will not hesitate to take someone out" Hamato aka 'the grumpy, protective uncle who grows to love his nephew very much but would never willingly admit it outloud (especially to his twin. Too bad for him Leo most likely already knows. again. twins lol ). Cause I can imagine poor guy had a hard time coping with the fact that CJ can destroy anyone's "emotionally unavailable bad-boy" image with little effort if you give him the time. And Donnie learned the hard way 😂
I am SO sorry this took so long! This prompt is golden and I love it, here you go!
--
Donatello tolerates children. He doesn't hate them because, believe it or not, there is a difference between the two.
He understands from a logistical standpoint that children function differently from adults. They're still navigating the world, cry when a need isn't met, laugh when you tickle them or someone falls on their face, and put everything and anything within reach in their mouth to figure out what it is and if they can eat it. Most of the time, the answer is no.
Donnie understands that, so he tolerates children. And as the world caves in and he's forced to intermingle with more humans and Yokai than he'll ever see (the numbers dwindle daily, but who's counting?), his tolerance builds. Though his position in the Resistance—Keeping Everyone Alive Under Six Feet of Earth and Limited Oxygen—keeps him cooped up in his lab and limits his interaction with people in general, on the odd days he's not locked in there with a sign that reads 'Keep Out or Get Bit', he'd say he does a decent job. Take that, autism.
It's on one of these odd days Cassandra Jones kicks the door of the mess hall down with enough force to send it flying, holds up a dirty bundle with a squirming thing inside and screeches. “I have acquired a child!”
And that was that.
Well, not really; there was a lot of screeching, demanding, explaining and even more frantic demanding involved. But Donnie barely remembers most of it. He'd been busy staring at the little pink face peeking out from the ragged cloth wrapped hastily around a tiny body, wondering how and why anyone would abandon him.
Logically, he knew why. Babies smell, they're defenceless, needy and loud. All recipes for disaster—death—in the alien apocalypse. Logically, he knew it was better to cut your losses and ditch, lighten the load, ease the burden and raise your chances of survival.
Emotionally, irrationally, he wanted to find the blood mother and kill her himself.
Regardless, Cassandra had claimed him, named him—Casey Jones Jr, of course—and the Hamato's had a new family member.
Cass was a mother, and Donnie was suddenly an uncle.
Cassandra, despite herself, is a great mother. She feeds, clothes, bathes and teaches Jr with the ferocity and vigour she's always had in spades but dipped in a new warmth and love Donnie never would have associated with her. It's unexpected, but Cass wouldn't be Cass if she weren't screwing Donnie's perception of reality in her every waking moment.
April and Raph dote on him something awful with baby voices and whatever toys they find or have donated to them by other understanding and indulgent parents. Mikey cries when he takes his first steps. Draxum gifts him a Yokai necklace made from dragon teeth and scales.
(“He can eat them once his feeble infant teeth fall out,” he explains while stoically cradling the giggling infant on one clawed palm, outwardly indifferent yet impossibly gentle. “They will harden his skin and strengthen his bones to iron. No Krang would dare stand in his way.”
“We are not,” April says, “feeding dragon teeth to my nephew, Draxum.”
“As his grandfather, I should have some say in his dietary requirements. Cassandra agrees with me!”
“I will bury you, Draxum,” April growls in a tone that promises unspeakable violence. “I will bury you deep.”
“... understood.”)
Leo lets him chew on his mask tails while rocking him to sleep. He also cries like a bitch when the little pink thing looks him in the eye, drool dribbling down his chin and his gummy smile miles and miles wide and says—“Weo!”
(Donnie thinks Splinter would have loved him just as much. Shared with him the stories and legacy of their clan, sang to him the same old Japanese lullabies, enthralled him with the tales of Lou Jitsu, everything he'd wanted to do should he ever become a grandfather.)
Donnie doesn't see Casey much. Not by choice, but he's a busy freaking turtle and one-year-olds are notoriously for being loud, distracting little things that Donnie cannot afford, now more than ever.
He knows their chances of winning the war are slim at best and impossible at worst. Hope can only take you so far, crazy mystic powers or not. They've already lost so much of their world. They've already lost Dad.
So Donnie needs to focus, work and keep working so they won't lose anyone else. Anything less than the best possible outcome is not a thread of logic he is willing to follow.
Then there's a knock at his door.
Without turning from his multiple screens, mystic or otherwise, Donnie grunts, “It had better be good—”
Cassandra bursts through the door, blazes across the room, dumps something on Donnie's lap—“HOLD THIS I WILL RETURN SHORTLY SHUT UP AND THANK YOU FAREWELL!”—and slams the door behind her on her way out.
Donnie sits bamboozled in his chair in the aftermath of her whirlwind. He stares at the scorch marks her feet left on the floor, the angle his door sits at after she'd slammed it near off its hinges—
“Ba!”
—and at the one-year-old pink thing she'd left to drool on his lap.
“Oh hell no, hell no—Cassandra Bernid Jones!” he hollers to no reply.
How in the shit could she do this to him?! Why in the shit?!
Junior giggles at Donnie's misery, kicking his bare feet madly and clapping damp hands. He must've had his fingers in his mouth. Joy.
“Cassandra, come back for your child or I will feed you to the nearest Krang Hound!” Donnie shouts. Unsurprisingly, his only answer is more of Junior's incessant giggling. Pudgy fingers reach for Donnie's face and Donnie lifts him higher, further away. Junior shrieks with joy.
Growling, Donnie activates the mechanical arms in his shell to carefully lift the child off his lap as he stands, holding him at a fair distance. The child is delighted by this and kicks harder, screaming with unbridled joy and having the time of his life. Donnie stares, fighting a scowl and a flinch because dear god how can something so small be so ungodly loud?
Donnie wants to smash something. Ironically, the indirect source of his ire keeps that desire at bay, but it doesn't stop him from grinding his teeth.
He's busy running updates on their freaking security system, the only thing keeping the Krang from finding them and killing everything that breathes. Cassandra knows this, everyone knows this, he'd sent them an email about it! So why, in the ever-loving shit, would Cassandra literally drop her child off with the one person who has a history of only tolerating children? Sure it's his adopted nephew, but he can only last so much in the presence of his own blood relatives for Christ—
He doesn't realize he's hissing, a low guttural thing rivalled only by Raphael at his angriest, until Junior stops laughing.
As much as they postured and played with fashion, aesthetics and trends as teenagers, Donnie and his brothers are mutants, and by (non-freaky)human standards, they are not conventionally 'pretty'. And according to many honest human comrades, April included, they can be downright unnerving sometimes. Mostly when they're pissed off, their animal roots seeping through the cracks of the humanity instilled in them by a loving father. They growl, hiss, click and roar, bearing their teeth and snarling like beasts. It's worse for Donnie and Raph, the carnivores of the family and most prone to biting; Raph's size doesn't help, and Donnie has easily frightened some of their biggest and strongest Yokai allies with a flash of fangs or a warning hiss.
It's not something he likes about himself these days. It never bothered him until they were forced to interact more and more with humans who had no qualms pointing shit like that out, even now with literal aliens prowling their ruined world. Still, he's learned to roll with it like he does with everything else.
But Casey Junior looks at him—his peeled lips revealing sharp fangs grit tight in a snarl and a hiss he can't curb fast enough—and he starts crying.
Oh shit.
“Oh shit,” Donnie says, flapping his hands, ire forgotten as panic takes over. “Oh shit, the child is crying and I am the cause. Cassandra will kill me, then Draxum will bring me back as a zombie so Raph can kill me again.”
What the hell does he do? Make funny faces? Pretend to trip over and fall flat on his snoot? Kids love physical comedy, pain is always funny! Or maybe he—or—oh who is he kidding, he's screwed. And the baby is still crying, kicking his feet and red in the face. Donnie lowers but doesn't touch him, biting his lip as his thoughts race. Not even five minutes and he's proven he cannot handle a child. How does Raph do this? How did Dad put up with this for seventeen years—
Oh wait, there's an idea. What did Dad do?
Trick question: Donnie knows exactly what Dad did when they were younger, and eight times out of ten it worked. The problem lies with Donnie and his intense aversion to all things stinky and gross and loud, all of which Casey Jr is.
But Donnie has seen and lived with worse even before the world went to shit. He lived with Leo and Mikey as his little brothers; they piss him off like it's their personal mission, but he loves them so fiercely it's painful. He'd look death in the eye and double-dog dare it to do its worst for them.
This is his baby nephew. He's not been around nearly as long but surely, surely, Donnie can get over himself for him, too.
(Even if he is a busy turtle working his ass off at the end of the world. But family is different. Family trumps everything.)
So Donnie swallows, takes a deep breath, takes Casey from the mechanical arms before dismissing them into his shell—“I'm doing it, I'm freaking doing it—” and pulls Casey into his arms, holding him tight against his chest.
The crying doesn't magically cease as Donnie had hoped, but it dies down into kitten-like sniffles that do—something to Donnie's heart, squeezing and twisting it in a way he hasn't felt since Mikey was this small, maybe smaller. Whatever it is, it compels him to cup the back of Casey's ebony head and press his (grossgrossgross) face into the exposed crook of Donnie's neck.
“Um... there there,” he says clumsily, patting Casey's back with his other hand. “Cease your crying. It's making my knees hurt and my chest do weird, fuzzy things I don't have time for.”
Casey turns his head at Donnie's voice, frighteningly alert.
Hm.
With a claw from his battle shell, he pulls his purple hood up, shielding Casey from the neon glare of his computer screens and LED lights around the lab.
“I apologize for scaring you,” he says a decibel softer. Casey turns his head again in response, still sniffling but significantly calmer. “I am angry, yes, but I am not angry at you. It was unfair of me to show my ire that way, especially in front of you, child who is easily frightened by loud noises and yet is scarily perceptive of the moods of the people around you...”
Casey lays his head against Donnie's shoulder, blinking up at him with big watery eyes. Donnie blinks back.
This is... not awful. It's progress. Progress is good. This is good.
He tears his gaze from Jr's—as deadly a weapon as Mikey's eyes for sure—and sways from side to side the way he used to do for Leo when they were young and scared. He hums a tune under his breath, one from that Ghibli movie about little people; he can't remember the film's name but the song at the end was cute and catchy as it was corny. Even years later, he remembers the words—
“I'm 14 years old, I am pretty. I'm a teen tiny girl, a little lady. I live under the kitchen floor. Right here, not so far from you.”
The sniffles die off, Casey's pudgy fingers grasping Donnie's torn hood, tiny nose buried against cool scales. Donnie keeps going, softly rubbing Casey's back the way Dad would rub his shell during Donnie's worse days. The memory brings tears to his eyes, so he shuts them before they can fall.
“Sometimes I feel happy, sometimes I feel blue. In my dreams O I wish I could... Feel my hair blowing in the wind, see the sky and the summer rain, pick a flower from the garden for you. Beyond the lane there's another world, butterflies floating in the air. But is there someone out there for me?”
By the end, Donnie looks down to see Casey fast asleep, sucking his thumb and drooling on Donnie's shoulder. For a breathless moment that lasts an eternity, Donnie is spellbound, staring at the little pink thing—a biological miracle someone had so quickly discarded on the barren streets of a dying world, a little life that had persevered despite every odd stacked against it, Cassandra's son, Donnie's little infant nephew—he cradles in his arms. For the first time he doesn't care for the slimy drool coating his shoulder, the bacteria or anything his body and brain would outright reject.
Donnie stares at Casey Jones Jr and finally pins a name to the fuzzy feeling in his chest.
Oh.
“Oh,” he says. Jr snuffles in his sleep.
---
When Leo turns a corner to find Mikey, Raph, April and Cassandra huddled outside Donnie's lab doors, he almost turns around to avoid the oncoming storm of Donnie's short temper. The gossip in him wins out in the end as he squeezes between Raph and Cassandra to peer through the crack in the door.
What he sees has him gaping like a fish.
Donatello Hamato—the Resistance's resident genius and hermit—sits languidly at his desk surrounded by screens, one hand tapping away at holographic screens, breezing through emails. The other arm curls around a babbling Casey Jr, grubby hands clenched tight on one of Donnie's old rubber fidget toys as he gnaws on it like a dog with a bone.
“The shipment from Asia's remaining base in Hong Kong should be arriving at the port between noon and sixteen hundred hours tomorrow,” Donnie rambles, eyes scanning a long wall of encrypted mystic text.
“Ba!” Casey cries around the toy, kicking his legs.
Donnie nods with a hum, scratching his chin. “Yes, I agree. Krang activity has intensified alarmingly at the Old Port since the refugee extraction six months ago, but there's no time to plan a safer route...”
“Ba dee ba!” Casey blows a messy raspberry. Not missing a beat, a mechanical arm pops from Donnie's shell to wipe the baby's mouth with a cloth before discarding it.
“You're right, Jr. I suppose there's no helping the matter. We must brief the teams as soon as possible to discuss the matter, rally what factions we have at our disposal—”
“Eeeee!” Casey screeches before bursting into giggles.
Donnie brightens. “Of course! We could send the drones! They're stealthier and won't incur a needless massacre at the hands of psychopathic aliens. If anything, we shall be doing the massacring once I've outfitted the drones with my newest Genius Built trademark mystic weaponry! Excellent idea Casey Jones Jr, what would I do without your added brilliance.”
“Don-NEE!” Casey cries.
“Yes yes, I'll send the email and hopefully one of those dumb dumbs will actually read—wait, what did you say?” Donnie drops the screens and plucks Casey off his lap to stare him in the face with wide eyes. “Did—Did you just—did you just say—?”
“Don!” Casey giggles, wiggling in Donnie's grip. “Don don don don don! Don-NEE!”
Donnie stares and stares and stares. A stupidly happy grin splits his face in two. “Oh my god.”
“Oh my god,” Mikey breathes with a matching grin.
“Would'ja look at that,” Raph chuckles, his smile a proud, fond thing.
“Knew he had it in him,” April nods.
“Which means Leonardo owes me fifty bucks!” Cassandra quietly whoops.
Tearing his eyes away from the horrendously cute picture of his twin and nephew, Leo aims a sly grin at Cassandra. “I would if we still used actual money as a source of income or trade.” Cassandra's grin drops like a stone, and Leo fights an evil cackle that would make Draxum proud. “Cash hasn't been a thing in years, Cassandra dear. Get dunked on.”
“Bite my ass, you di—!”
The door abruptly slides open the rest of the way and they tumble to the floor in a heap. Above them, Donatello stands unimpressed, brow raised and one hand on his hip. Curled in his other arm, Jr babbles happily and reaches for Cassandra.
“Evening all,” Donnie drones as they clambered guiltily to their feet. “To what do I owe this displeasure.”
“Nothing at all!” Cassandra said, shooting Leo a poisonous glare before opening her arms to receive her son. “Thank you for looking after my child, I will take him back now and relinquish you from your—”
“A-bub-bub-bub!” Donnie turns slightly, putting Jr out of her reach. “I have decided that Jr may stay a few hours longer while I run the regular diagnostics and schedule that meeting you no doubt heard about while you were unceremoniously eavesdropping at my still broken door—thank you for that Cassandra, by the way—he is no trouble presently and makes an excellent rubber duck to bounce ideas off. Don't you agree, Jr?”
Jr snaps his head up to beam at Donnie. “Ah!” he says. Donnie's impassive face melts into a rare smile that Leo aches to see. He's not smiled like that since before Dad...
Cassandra's arms flop to her sides. April, Mikey and Raph stare, rendered speechless until April lifts a finger. “... er, Don, are you sure—?”
“Quite sure, Commander O'Neil,” the impassive mask returns, but Donnie's fooling no one. “Now if you don't mind, Jr and I are very busy bees and must get back to work, so begone. And while you're at it, please issue this new warning to the rest of the base: 'I have only had Casey Jones Jr for five hours, but if anything happens to him, I will kill everyone in this base and then myself.' Good day.”
“Goo' 'ay!” Casey chimes and Leo has a front-row seat to Donnie's delighted crooked smirk right before he slams the door shut in their faces.
There's a beat of silence.
Then Raph claps his hands. “So,” he draws out with a strained smile, “who saw that coming?”
“Me,” Leo sings.
“You bet against him!” Cassandra booms. “With non-existent money!”
Leo shrugs, motioning them to follow him down the hall. “Only on principle. I knew he had it in him. Jr is family and Donnie loves attention and family. It was bound to happen.”
“Aaand it was stupidly cute!” Mikey chimes, floating by them with his hands tucked under his chin.
Leo thinks of the tingle he'd felt in his chest hours ago when Cassandra first ditched—ahem—dropped Jr off with Donnie, of the familiar tune from an old, corny yet hopeful film from their childhood humming from the fringes of their Mind Meld, of the glee and soft, new, helpless love bleeding from Donnie's gaze, his smile, as Jr babbled his name.
Leo smiles. “Yeah. Stupidly cute.”

My headcannons for ROTTMNT reader insert
So in my headcanons Y/n is the turtles mother. Shes been a friend Spilinter/Lou jistu for years but ever since he became a professional fighter/actor they haven't spoken. But the day after he was mutated along with the turtles he finds himself at her doorstep seeking shelter. Dispite years of not talking they were still God friends and Y/n is very willing to help him out. When she saw the turtles she immediately begged to adopt them. After a year or so with Splinter living with her Y/n was evicted by her land lord for no apparent reason. They lived on the streets for a while until they moved to the sewers to hide both splinter and the turtles from the world wasn't ready for them. After a little building and such they made the lair and raised the boys there.
Now lemme give you their relationship with Y/n when they met vs now.
Leo
Then
Leo is the second one of the turtles to trust and accept her from the moment they met. Even if he was still a baby he warmed up to her immediately. It was like he could sense that she wasn't a threat. As a baby he would often follow her around everywhere and if he wanted her attention, which was all the time, he would make chirping turtle noises. He used this to try to communicate with her that he wants attention because he's a baby and he can't talk yet. He would often make a fuss if she placed him down. He's a total mama's boy.
Now
Leo is still the biggest mamas boy like ever. He's always trying to be around her and still follows her around a lot. He takes after Y/n alot from her corny jokes to her laugh. He's practically almost a carbon copy of her. Leo learned practically everything he knows from her, from riding a skate board to making corny jokes. They planned an hour a day just for making jokes. He considers himself the unofficial favorite child. He's definitely written a couple books of corny jokes she'd definitely love for her birthday and mother's day.
Mikey
Then.
Mikey was the first to trust Y/n. It only took a single cookie to gain his trust and he was practically sold. Like Leo he fussed when she wasn't with him 24/7 but the difference is he took a minute to notice she was gone. Mikey was way more clingy than Leo and would also try to follow her around too but he'd get tired easily cause he was so small. Whenever Mikey had nightmares he goes to her and tells her all about them and she eventually lets him sleep in her bed after hearing him. I mead who could resist baby Mikey?
Now
Mikey is just like Leo when I say mamas boy. He takes a lot after her and his Dr delicate touch was inspired by her. Mikey learned to cook from her and got into condisending kitchen with her. Mikey and Y/n are always watching random soapopras and then gossiping about the characters for hours on end. Mikey always gets up early to try and make her breakfast but he's always too late as Y/ns already in the kitchen making breakfast. Mikey wants to take off some of the load but it's like she doesn't want it. Mikey does try his best to help her around the lair. Best believe Mikey is going all out on the cooking for birthdays and mother's day.
Raph
Then
Raph is the third to trust her out of them all. Despite being a kid at the time he couldn't bring himself to trust her so quickly. She was new to him and since he was the oldest it was his job to protect the family. Btw at this time Raph is around four. Raph was very skeptical of her but after a while he saw how genuine she weas and eventually trusted her.
Now
Raph considers Y/n family and he vows to protect her. She had been doing the most for him when he started growing bigger. For example, when he got too big and heavy for his bed she with the help of Donnie made a new bed to support his weight and still be comfy. When his favorite shirt got too small she made a new one that looked exactly like it but big enough to fit on him. She also got a job just to buy him and the others some stuff. Raph couldn't help but just love her even more for that. To think his mom cared so much that she was doing the most to keep him and his brothers happy made want to just hug her to death. They definitely love plushies and talk about them day and night. He is definitely getting her a couple plushies for her birthday and mother's day.
Donnie
Then
Donnie did not like her at all at first. For instance He would bite, hiss and whatever at her just to get her to leave him alone. He didn't trust her no matter what she did and that made Y/n really upset. She tried everything to get him to like her but it didn't work until she started to cry. This honestly shocked Donnie. He didn't think he'd be able to make her cry. He wasn't sure what to do so he went up to her and gave her and place her finger on his head. He had seen her do the same with the others and that made her smile when she did it to them so he thought it would cheer her up. Let's just say he was a little nicer to her after that and after a while he warmed up a little.
Now
Donnie had now completely warmed up to Y/n calling her mother and everything. Whenever he made a new invention she was the first he showed because he knew she'd always like his inventions. Every now and then She's just going to say she's proud of him out of the blue which just confuses him but he takes it. He would often ask for various things like titanium and stuff and doesn't question where she gets it's from. Donnie gets his sarcasm from her no doubt. She encourages him to go above and beyond when he's working. He learned how to use his staff from her since she use to use one back in the day. And no doubt she's his favorite parent cause she actually allows him to work past bedtime and because she makes his favorite dinner every Saturday just for him. Better believe he's planned on what to make her for her birthday and mother's day for the next 60 years.

TMNT Strongest Couples
Number Five: RenetAngelo
(Ok, I know I do not ship these two in my fanfics, but I did not want to leave poor Mikey out and I do agree that they would be a good couple together, I just...I don't know. Anyway! Let's get into it!)
Why Mikey and Renet are the fifth strongest couple in TMNT.
Well...for starters, Renet and Mikey are like two peas in a pod. They are both quirky, energetic, easily excited and they both are a little...airheaded. Lol
Mikey is always trying to say slick or cute things with Renet. The way that Mikey flirts with different than his brothers'. He is not nervous or self-conscious like Donnie or lovey-dovey like Raph.
He is just super cool and chill about it and very confident in what he says.
"The names, Michelangelo but you can call me Mikey, Angelo is my middle name."
"So now we're riding a horse together, is this our first date?"
When Renet takes off her hood or whatever Mikey is like really into it and says, "Oh Hey~" Which just made me laugh.
"So does this mean we are in a long-distance relationship?"
We all know that Mikey is the type of person who is quick to trust and love.
(Examples)
Mikey is just a really kindhearted person, and he is always looking for new friends and family.
Becoming friends with Christ Bradford. Well. That was just a mistake from the start and Mikey's mini crush on Shinigami, was never going to work.
I know some fans ship these two and I see why because they are alike as well with their cheerful and mischievous attitude but, no, I don't think they would be good together. I think they are better suited as best friends.
Renet though, is a different story. Yes, Mikey crushed on her the first moment he saw her, but that crush grew, and it is clear that Mikey is more interested in Renet than he is with Shinigami.
He probably started flirting with Shinigami and stuff because he thought Renet would never come back but she did.
And in the few, rare times, we see Mikey being serious and sincere instead of him being goofing and cracking jokes.
"Can we kick it in the future together? Just you and me? For a little while?"
Mikey, I believe is looking for someone he can open up to, someone that he can be sad or mad around because he feels like, he always has to be happy around his brothers, for their comfort but with Renet, he acts a little different.
It is clear that Renet is interested in Mikey too.
Renet obviously struggles with confidence in herself and her abilities but Mikey, is always willing to speak up on her defense and make her feel good about herself, like he does with everyone but with her, it's a little more...protective?
Renet is always laughing at Mikey's jokes and never gets annoyed with him, like others do.
I believe both she and Mikey, secretly feel like a black sheep in the world. No one gets them. No one understand them but they understand each other.
Renet feels good when Mikey is around, and Mikey feels the same.
Mikey is does not even bother to hide his feelings with Renet, he is purposely very open and obvious, and Renet is very patient with him. Though, it is clear that she has feelings for him too, she always says stuff like,
"Mikey, aren't you a little old for me? I haven't even been born yet."
Renet just always seems to hold back and hesitant which made me think that there is maybe some kind of strict rules or codes that time masters aren't allowed to be with people from different timelines. I don't know but she threw me off when she said,
"Just have to wait until we meet again, Michelangelo. In the Future."
So...huh?
She says that she was not even born in his timeline yet, she basically says that they will meet again and gives him hope that they will be together.
I have a couple of theories.
One - Renet retires from being a time Master and goes to live in Mikey's timeline.
Two - Turtles live a long time, and with Mikey being a mutant, he gets to live even longer so...maybe Renet is not that far in the future where she is unable to grow up and meet Mikey. Maybe it's one of those, age is just a number thing. Mikey can be 60 and Renet can be 20 but really, Mikey is not even in the middle of his lifespan. So...yeah.
That's all I got!
So, yeah, basically, these two's relationship is a total mystery, one only which the future can tell but one thing is clear, they both love and is very supportive towards each other.
So, if they end up being together in the future, I believe we are all here for it.
(Sorry, this was short, but it is very hard to talk about these two when there is not enough of them. Like there is no conflict or nothing, just simple flirting and whatnot.)

─ ✩ 𝐏𝐀𝐈𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆 ; karai x april (karapril)

─ ✩ 𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒 ; injury and pain, mention of violence
─ ✩ 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐄𝐃 𝐁𝐘 ; @wombatking
it was a glorious day at the lair, the training area was filled with a golden glow. karai was ready to seize the day, the eagerness to get some practice in with her katanas radiating from her very being. with a determined grin, she twirled the weapons expertly before locking eyes with her girlfriend, april.
"ready, karai?" april's voice was laced with playful determination as she met karai's gaze.
karai's lips curled into a confident smile. "always, april."
their match began, the clashing of their weapons reverberating through the training area. they moved with grace and agility, a testament to their training and camaraderie. the two were greatly skilled , their playful banter a melody that echoed through each exchange.
however, the excitement took an unexpected turn. as their battle intensified, a stray training mat went unnoticed, and karai's foot slipped on its edge. in an instant, she found herself stumbling to the ground with a sharp gasp, pain radiating from her ankle.
april's concern was immediate as she dropped her sais and rushed to karai's side. "karai, are you okay?"
karai gritted her teeth, a mix of frustration and pain on her face. "i think i twisted my ankle or something."
with a gentle touch, april carefully examined Karai's foot. "it might be more than just a twist. we should get you checked out."
after a visit to donatello's makeshift infirmary, the verdict was clear: karai had a broken foot, and she would be benched from ninja activities for at least a month. the thought of being inactive and dependent on crutches didn't sit well with karai, and her frustration was palpable.
karai's frustration was palpable as she hobbled around on crutches, her cast a constant reminder of her current limitations. resting and recuperating were unfamiliar concepts to the fierce warrior, and the boredom that came with it was almost unbearable.
as karai settled onto the couch, crutches leaning against the nearby wall, april approached with a sympathetic smile. "hey, tough girl. how're you holding up?"
karai's scowl melted into a begrudging smile as she gazed at april. "i'm supposed to be the one protecting you, not the other way around."
april sat down beside her, placing a gentle hand on karai's uninjured leg. "hey, we're partners, remember? we take care of each other."
karai's dark eyes softened as she leaned into april's touch. "i know. it's just... frustrating."
april nodded in understanding. "i can only imagine. but hey, we'll get through this together, alright? and i have a plan to help keep you entertained."
karai raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "oh? and what might that be?"
april's eyes gleamed mischievously. "well, for starters, how about we get everyone to sign your cast? might as well turn it into a work of art."
karai's lips curled into a genuine smile. "that sounds... surprisingly nice."
as the turtles gathered around, karai's cast became a canvas for their artistic expressions. mikey added his signature doodles, raph's tag was bold and distinctive, donnie's precise technical drawings were a marvel, and leo's elegant signature completed the masterpiece. the vibrant cast was a testament to the unique bond karai shared with her newfound family.
and then, as the day stretched on, april's grand plan unfolded. "okay, karai, you're in for a treat. we're going to introduce you to some classic teenage pastimes – video games!"
karai looked intrigued but slightly skeptical. "video games?"
mikey's eyes lit up with enthusiasm. "oh yeah! they're awesome. come on, we'll show you the ropes!"
karai hesitated, but the contagious excitement of her brothers was hard to resist. with april by her side, she gingerly moved to the gaming area, settling in front of the console. mikey handed her a controller, and as he explained the basics, karai found herself becoming increasingly intrigued.
the boys cheered her on as she tried her hand at various games. there were fits of laughter as karai's avatar met hilarious mishaps, and shouts of triumph when she managed to outsmart her opponents. throughout it all, april was there, offering encouragement and good-natured teasing.
"karai, you're a natural at this!" mikey exclaimed as she effortlessly maneuvered through a challenging level.
karai grinned, the tension in her shoulders easing as she embraced the joy of the moment. "it's strangely satisfying to take out my frustration on virtual enemies."
donnie chimed in with a playful smirk. "just wait till you get to experience cooperative gameplay. teaming up with your siblings to conquer challenges – it's the ultimate bonding experience."
karai nodded, her eyes sparkling with newfound excitement. "i have to admit, this is... kind of fun."
raph slapped her back playfully. "told ya! video games are the way to go when you're stuck on crutches."
as the day went on, the turtles were determined to introduce karai to their favorite pastimes, showcasing a side of them that was rarely seen amidst their battles with villains.
"alright, karai, you've conquered the world of video games. now, it's time for something a little more... hands-on," leo announced with a grin.
karai looked intrigued as she adjusted her position on the couch. "hands-on, huh? what do you have in mind?"
raph entered the room, carrying an assortment of art supplies. "get ready. we're gonna teach you how to create your own graffiti art."
karai's eyes widened in surprise. "graffiti?"
mikey chuckled. "yep, it's like expressing yourself, and making something cool – all rolled into one."
with raph dishing out tips and tricks, karai tried her hand at using a spray paint can. her brothers' guidance led her to create intricate designs on a worn piece of wood. the creative process felt like an escape, a way to channel her energy into crafting something beautiful.
meanwhile, april was huddled close, sketching in her notebook. "you know, art's like the best kind of therapy. it's like meditation with a creative twist."
karai nodded, absorbed in her work. "i can see why. it's... weirdly soothing."
donnie chimed in with a smirk. "plus, there's the added bonus of leaving your mark on the world – quite literally."
as the night ticked on, karai's art piece took form – a visual representation of her emotions and newfound camaraderie. amid laughter and banter, the lair brimmed with the camaraderie of shared experiences. her cast evolved into a canvas of familial solidarity, her graffiti art a tribute to her inventive side.
but the night's adventures were far from over. mikey's signature grin hinted at their next venture. "alright, karai, it's time to get your dance on!"
karai blinked, taken aback. "dance?"
leo laughed. "yep, you got it. don't worry, we're not experts, but we've got our own groove."
the room underwent a transformation, becoming an impromptu dance floor. the turtles and april began to dance, each moving in their unique ways. karai watched, crutches in hand, her broken leg preventing her from joining in the traditional sense. however, her determination was unwavering.
karai managed to create her own rhythm, using her crutches as makeshift dance partners. she swayed side to side, spun carefully, and even attempted a clumsy twirl. despite the awkwardness, she didn't let her injury hold her back from participating in the festivities.
as april spun around with infectious energy, she caught karai's eye and smiled, understanding the effort behind karai's moves. april's dance mirrored karai's unorthodox steps, their laughter blending with the music in the air.
with the night growing late and laughter still echoing, karai felt a sense of ease wash over her. her foot might be confined to a cast, but her spirit soared in the company of her family.
finally, as they settled down, exhaustion replacing the earlier excitement, karai found herself wrapped in her brothers' and april's warmth. the laughter may have subsided, but the sense of connection lingered.
karai settled on the couch, her casted leg propped up on a cushion. april joined her, sitting close enough that their shoulders brushed against each other. the soft glow of the room's lights illuminated their faces, casting a warm and intimate ambiance.
"you know," april began, her voice soft and thoughtful, "it's nights like these that remind me how lucky i am to have you in my life."
karai turned to her, a genuine smile curving her lips. "the feeling's mutual, april. i can't imagine going through all of this without you by my side."
april's fingers brushed lightly against the back of karai's hand, a gentle touch that spoke volumes. "we make a pretty good team, don't we?"
karai's gaze lingered on april's face, her dark eyes filled with affection. "the best, if you ask me."
as the night enveloped them in its embrace, the weight of their shared experiences settled in the air. the battles they had fought, the secrets they had unraveled, and the connection they had formed – it was a journey that had forged a bond stronger than any obstacle.
karai's fingers found their way to april's, their hands intertwining effortlessly. "you know, before all of this – before i found out who i really am – i never imagined i could have something like this."
april squeezed karai's hand gently, her eyes locked onto hers. "and now?"
"now, i can't imagine my life without you in it," karai confessed, her voice carrying a mixture of vulnerability and certainty.
april leaned in, her lips brushing against karai's in a tender, lingering kiss. it was a kiss filled with the unspoken promise of support, understanding, and unwavering love.
when they pulled away, their foreheads rested against each other, their breaths synchronized. "we've been through so much," april murmured, her voice barely above a whisper.
karai nodded, their closeness creating a cocoon of safety and intimacy. "and we'll face whatever comes next together."
as the night wore on, the two of them remained entwined, lost in conversation that ranged from their dreams and fears to the simple joys that made life beautiful. they laughed, shared stories, and even spoke of their plans for the future, a future where they would continue to support and cherish each other.
eventually, as the hours ticked away, fatigue began to settle in. april shifted, leaning against karai's shoulder with a contented sigh. karai draped her arm around april's shoulders, holding her close in a gesture that needed no words.
with their fingers still intertwined and their hearts in sync, karai whispered, "despite everything, i feel like this injury led to something unexpectedly wonderful."
april chuckled softly. "yeah, who knew broken bones could bring us closer?"
karai pressed a soft kiss to the top of april's head. "maybe it's a reminder that even in the midst of challenges, there's beauty waiting to be discovered."
as the night continued to wrap its gentle embrace around them, karai and april found themselves lost in the soft glow of the lair's lights and the warmth of each other's company. the world outside, with its chaos and dangers, felt distant and unimportant compared to the sanctuary they had built together.
with a tender smile, april snuggled even closer to karai, resting her head on her girlfriend's shoulder. the soft hum of the lair's machinery provided a soothing background melody to their intimate moment.
karai couldn't help but run her fingers through april's hair, a gesture that never failed to make april sigh contentedly. "you know," karai began in a hushed tone, "i used to think that being strong meant never showing vulnerability, never needing anyone else. but now i realize that strength comes from being able to lean on someone, to share your fears and dreams."
april lifted her head slightly to meet karai's gaze, her eyes shining with understanding. "you're absolutely right, karai. strength is in vulnerability, in opening up to the people who matter most. and you matter the most to me."
their lips met once again in a soft, lingering kiss, a testament to the depth of their feelings. it was a kiss that spoke of love, trust, and an unbreakable bond.
as they pulled away, karai whispered, "i'm grateful for this time, april. grateful for the chance to be vulnerable with you, to discover new sides of myself, and to love you even more deeply."
april's smile was radiant in the dimly lit room. "i feel the same way, karai. this thing might've slowed you down physically, but it's brought us closer emotionally. i wouldn't trade this time for anything."
with a gentle touch, karai traced the contours of april's face, memorizing every detail. "i love you, april o'neil. with all my heart."
april's eyes glistened with emotion as she replied, "and i love you, karai hamato. forever and always."
their love was a beacon in the darkness, a reminder that even in the face of adversity, there was a bond that could withstand anything. as they settled into each other's arms, they knew that they were home – safe, loved, and together.

2003 Gio✨✨
Recently started watching 2003, but the website I was using only had up to season 3, and then the other seasons are wonky and missing episodes.. Let's say I know mostly up until Leo returns from training with the Ancient One and that whole fight with Karai. Besides all that I've adapted my Rise OC Caravaggio into 2003.
I don't mean simply drawing him in the 2003 style, no, I worked with my friend to adapt mostly his personality into 2003 (as the teetlez often have different personalities in each iteration).
It was a draw between "Paranoid Survivialist" and "Emo" and Emo won the draw, I'll explain more as I go along.
I did research and here's the "Emo" parts overall: Gio feels sectioned from society as a mutant turtle (obviously), and instead of allowing any personal connections and positive emotions he's decided it's better to expect the worst and try not to build too close a bond with anyone in his family. He loves his brothers and Splinter but he pushes away from them to remain in misery of the fact only bad things can happen (it gets weird to explain but I hope people get the jist), and the rest of his time when not fighting is spent lamenting pretty much everything. It's never that he's always moping, he's always ready to help fight the Shredder or whatever is threatening New York. And even if he thinks always expecting the worse prepares him for the worse, when really bad things happen to his brothers.. the emotions hit him harder than he thought they could.
2003 Gio is passionate about a few things, he loves coffee.. and waffles. He doesn't really do video-games or watch television since they are, "mere empty distractions for the miserable reality of existence" as he puts it. On the other hand, despite him trying to push away he has his relations with his brothers✨ Leo is the one who tries to reach out to him the most, he wants Gio to know somebody is there and everything's okay and all that. It does get rough when Leo gets all moody and angy. They begin to fight because Gio tells Leo, "You're being an idiot with your emotions." and Leo just.. that's an infodump for another time. Bottom line Gio doesn't like Leo trying so hard and is repelled by his positive persistence. Donnie likes to spend time with Gio and doesn't mind their three-word conversations. When Gio is bored he watches Donnie work and lets Donnie explain how everything works in whatever he makes. Gio is curious and likes to know information. Raph hangs around the most because Gio doesn't mind Raph's energy and I will say Raph is kinda the sweetest brother. Raph hangs around Gio mostly because he also doesn't mind Gio being more pessimistic but will still try to bring a silver lining. And with Mikey.. Mikey has no idea what to think of Gio based on Gio's attitude and interests. Gio feels indifferent about Mikey. While he would be repelled by Mikey's energy Gio almost feels pity that Mikey seems mostly oblivious to "the inevitable" and Gio maybe grows protective of that. Gio will always go on about never being accepted by anyone or anything and he can't relate to anyone or anything. His brothers have tried but in the end Gio's still right because he's the only one who feels this way about their situation.
Other things I guess: It's not uncommon for Gio to get lost somewhere new. He's curious and will wander off to look at stuff. The Gio constant has Gio also being able to somehow sense when someone is leaving their rooms at night so he wakes up and either finds them or waits until they return (it gets REAL bad when Leo leaves for 2 months. It's a way he's worried for his family, he stays until they return because he doesn't know if they're safe while they're gone and if they return then it's okay to sleep). Some Gio-in-an-episode details: In the first Shredder attack, that's how Gio got the scar on his face. The Shredder swiped and Gio moved but got that scar. And in "Tales of Leo" Gio tells a story about how when he was younger he was VERY reactive to emotions (insane tantrums, throwing stuff, etc.) and for the most part Splinter would just leave Gio until he was done, but Leo sat there and said he's wait and then Gio would actually talk through his emotions with Leo. Gio closes with, "I'll wait for you too Leo. Until you're ready." And ye✨ In the episodes where the brothers are all in different dimensions, I've planned that Gio ends up in the genderbent dimension (but a drawing will be shown of that only later). In the season 3 finale Shredder fight Gio gets both his wrists either fractured or broken, and (it's a Gio canon event) his shell is cracked. Fixed up with some Utrom Plaster. He just doesn't have sensation in his legs until his turtle power fix up the nerves (because turtles can regenerate nerve tissue apparently).
This is just to show 2003 Gio lamenting and the difference of Rise Donnie and Gio, and then 2003 Donnie and Gio✨
And this drawing shows Gio being "Emo" I guess. Some more expressions and twitchy fingers when unhappy stimulation.
A big 'ol infodump in between many doodles of 2003 Gio.
And yes I HAVE drawn all the 2003 boys. So ye
I like 2003✨

If you’re still taking fic prompts, how about some good ol’ fashioned woodyangelo cos you write them so so well and I can never get enough of them both 💛
set in 2012 'verse, but the turtles are all different ages, like they are in rise <3
x
They weren’t sure about Woody at first. None of Mikey’s brothers were, it wasn’t just Leo.
The guy was just so… normal. He wasn’t thrown into their lives the way April and Casey both were. He didn’t prowl around dark alleys in the middle of the night, picking fights with crime lords and brain-shaped aliens in power mechs. His hobbies had absolutely nothing to do with sharp weapons or parkour.
So it just didn’t make sense. There was no common denominator. He had no stakes in the game. He could walk away from them at any time and upend their entire existence and it wouldn’t cost him anything. Just because he hasn’t yet doesn’t mean he won’t.
But it was a mistake to say as much to Mikey. ‘Mistake’ is putting it lightly.
Leo has absolutely never seen his littlest brother’s eyes turn so sharp. Mikey drew himself up like he was bracing himself for a knock-down, drag-out fight. It was like looking at a younger Raphael, except he burned hot, and apparently Mikey burned cold.
“You don’t like any of my friends,” Mikey said plainly. His arms were crossed and he wasn’t budging. “You call Mondo annoying right to his face, and you’re scared of Leatherhead because he’s stronger than you so you’re always weird and rude around him, and every time Renet comes to visit you look at her like you think she’s stupid. And I can tell, ‘cause it’s the same way you guys look at me.”
“Woah,” Donnie said, putting up his hands. His eyes were round and stunned. None of them had come into this conversation expecting it to spiral into an outright confrontation so fast. “We don’t think you’re stupid.”
“Sure,” Mikey said in a tone that made it sound like he was actually saying ‘yeah, right.’ His mouth was set in a firm line, brows drawn together under his mask. “So are you gonna tell me to stop hanging out with Woody? Is that what the point of this was?”
Originally? Yes. But Donnie was stricken, and Raph kept shooting sidelong stares at Leo that said Abort, Fearless, abort! as clearly as if he was shouting it. But more than that, it was the way Mikey was looking at him.
He looked like he was ready to get his feelings hurt, and it was the first time he’d ever looked at Leo like that in his entire life.
Leo was doing his best to lead the family without Splinter’s patient guiding hand, but there were days that he really struggled. Days that he’d give anything to see his father again, so he could ask for one more answer, one more moment of wisdom.
But he didn’t need anyone to tell him what the right answer was here.
“No, Angie,” Leo said quickly, the old nickname slipping out on its own. “I’m sorry I came at this so wrong. I just want you to be careful, okay? You know I—I worry.”
Mikey’s expression softened. Underneath the unfamiliar angry, defensive shell, he was still the sweet kid that brightened all of their days. He surged forward and Leo readily enveloped him in a snug hug, swaying him side-to-side in a playful way.
“It’s okay, Leo. I’m not very smart, but there are some things I know for sure. And I know Woody’s good.”
“Okay,” Donnie said, breaking up the hug with a brisk clap. Now he was the one who looked ready to go on a warpath. “We’re talking about that next. You are not stupid.”
“And I’m not scared of Leatherhead, that's dumb,” Raphael blurted, like he couldn’t go another second without saying it. So the Woody conversation quickly winged away in another direction, but they all ended up talking about things that needed talking about, and Leo soaked up their company the way other turtles basked in sunlight.
It would be easier if he could protect his brothers from every uncertainty and every stranger and every heartache, but doing that would sabotage all of the potentially good things, too. And Leo’s brothers deserved every good thing the world had to offer. What the world didn’t offer, Leo would take for them.
He still wasn’t sure about Woody—that hadn’t been cleared up at all—but he wasn’t going to deny Mikey anything that made him happy. Leo’s job as big brother and stand-in parent was to step in when things went wrong and make them right again. Until then, he would just pray they didn’t go wrong.
When Christmas Eve rolls around, the lair is packed. There’s music and cheesy Christmas movies and a rich spread of food. All of their friends make an appearance, even if they can’t stay. It’s so different from the Christmas celebrations of his childhood that it might as well be a scene from some alien planet. Splinter raised his sons with warmth and love, but he had been so alone in the world. Leo and his brothers are really lucky to have as many people to count among their family as they do.
He almost misses it entirely when Woody shows up. Maybe he would have, if Mikey hadn’t shouted out loud in pure glee. He watches his littlest brother jump down from Leatherhead’s shoulders and sprint across the lair at full ninja speed. Woody is laughing when they collide.
Leo isn’t close enough to hear their conversation over the noise of the party. Casey and Shinigami are doing karaoke now, for some godforsaken reason, and they could easily drown out everything else within a ten mile radius.
But he can see the brightness on both of their faces, the dimpled grin Woody’s wearing as he absorbs Mikey’s special brand of light, the easy, familiar way they lean into each other’s orbit.
They start to venture toward the kitchen, and like an act of gravity, Mikey’s closest friends peel away from the party to fall into step with them.
“—thought the movie tickets were my present!” Mikey is protesting, a big theatrical pout on his face. “The Force Awakens was amazing, and the theater was so cool!”
“The movie tickets were a red herring,” Woody replies. “My sister works there and it was really easy for her to get us in, especially because she’s been trying to get fired for weeks now. Your real present is actually in your house already. I had no idea how to get it down here by myself, so April and Karai helped me smuggle it in yesterday. I think they hid it in the pantry.”
Now it made sense why April has been guarding that particular corner of the kitchen so fiercely. Rockwell almost lost a hand when he went looking for some chips earlier. She tips her snowman-shaped mug at Woody in solidarity and he nods gravely back.
Leo is curious. He drifts over to join April when she moves over to stand just inside the doorway, propping up a wall. There’s a crooked smile on her face.
“You’ll want to see this,” she says, so certainly that Leo believes her.
The present, when they wrestle it out of the pantry and onto the kitchen island, is fairly big, and it’s easy to see how one skinny teenage boy would have struggled to get this into the tunnels by himself. Mondo immediately plucks the bow off the box and smacks it onto the top of his own head, because he’s—
Leo catches himself.
Because he’s a kid, Mikey’s age, mutated at fourteen years old and abandoned by his family and left to make his own way in the world. And maybe he’s annoying sometimes, but that’s not all he is.
“I’m a gift,” the gecko says proudly.
“To the world,” Renet and Woody say at the same time, utterly serious, and Mikey laughs.
He enlists Leatherhead’s help in unwrapping his present, because the metric ton of tape Woody used is no match for the alligator’s knife-point claws. Then all the paper comes off, and Mikey takes one look at what's underneath, and the smile falls right off his face.
It’s a KitchenAid Artisan stand mixer, in bright buttercup yellow, with a bunch of attachments included in the box. Leo stands a little taller, eyes narrow as he takes in the scene, trying to suss out what caused that expression on Mikey’s face.
He looks absolutely dumbfounded. He thumbs at a corner of the box like he’s making sure it’s real.
“It’s exactly the one I wanted,” Mikey says really quietly. He’s clearly overwhelmed. “I never said anything. How’d you know that?”
“C’mon, amigo, of course I knew,” Woody replies. He’s a little self-conscious now. “I had to do a lot of extra deliveries to save up for it. But I figured I had lots of Christmases to make up for. And I wanna be around for all the rest of them, too.”
Mikey sniffs, and then starts rubbing his eyes, his shoulders trembling.
“Aww, Mikey, nooo,” Renet says, sounding choked up, “if you cry I’m gonna, like, start bawling my eyes out! Please think of my eyeliner!”
“They don’t have waterproof makeup in the 79th Dimension?” Mondo asks judgmentally.
Leatherhead chuckles warmly, a low rumble that sounds more like a growl than laughter. He’s so laughably big he barely fits in their kitchen, but he fits. It has a lot to do with the way he smiles at Leo’s baby brother, like he knows exactly how special Mikey is.
All of Mikey’s friends look at him like that. Even Mondo, skating in circles around the kitchen island, is sort of grinning to himself.
“Can you stay the night?” Mikey asks wetly. “I’m gonna make homemade cinnamon rolls for breakfast with my new mixer.”
“Mikester,” Woody says, resting his weight on his elbows and leaning across the island to give Mikey his undivided attention, “I would literally rather die than miss your homemade cinnamon rolls.”
“Hard same,” Mondo adds.
Renet sighs, puts one arm around Mikey’s shoulders and the other around Leatherhead’s snout, tugs them both in really tight, and says, “This Christmas is one of my favorites. I come back to it all the time.”
“Stop trying to give me an existential crisis!” Woody demands, tossing a napkin at her. “I have enough of those on my own!”
Leo glances at April, and finds her already smiling back at him. The last stubborn guard around Leo’s heart folds, just like that. He gazes across the room at the ragtag little group his brother picked out for himself and realizes for the first time that he has a lot less to worry about than he thought he did.
Woody wasn’t forced into this subterranean life of secrecy and subterfuge and war. He could bail anytime he wanted and leave these abandoned subway tunnels behind for good, the way any normal person probably would, and there would be nothing that Leo could do to stop him.
He doesn’t have to stick around. Which makes it even more special that he’s still here.
And he looks at Mikey the way everyone who loves Mikey looks at him. Leo would know that look anywhere.

Blood // Water by Grandson
This one got longer. I hope it's decent. It is my first ever ROTTMNT fic.
TW: vomit
Oh right! @erriots
--
Raph had lost his lunch, and Leo was barely refraining from following him.
"Dad..." Mikey said in heartbreak.
Donnie was gripping his staff hard enough to feel his knuckles grinding. He was furious not just for himself, but on his little brother's behalf. After how far Mikey had gone to redeem him; he turns around and begins to commit atrocities again!
"That conniving, deceitful, traitorous.…"
Donnie struggled for the word he wanted to use. Nothing felt strong enough. His immense vocabulary wasn't quite enough to cover his feelings. He had to settle for a subpar word and hoping yelling it loud enough could make up the difference.
"JERK!"
It didn’t make up the difference.
Mikey whimpered next to him.
"I hate to say it, but I told you guys. He dropped me off a roof." Leo yelled, trying to channel his hurt into any other emotion within reach and landing on anger.
He was aiming for humor, but he was flexible with where he landed.
"But....he changed. He was family" Mikey said
Raph wiped his face clean and reached over to rub his youngest brother's shell.
"You did your best, Bro. Sometimes bad people just wanna be bad. You can love em all you want, but it's not always gonna be enough."
The sound of a metal door scraping against tile made them all turn to see the traitor of the hour step into the lab. Still wearing his uniform, hair net and all.
"Oh. Hello boys. I didn't expect to see you here." he said cheerfully.
As if nothing was horribly, gut twistingly, wrong. As if there weren't suffering human test subjects in states that could be argued as worse than death gasping for oxygen in tubes lined against the wall.
"A bunch of brand new mutants starting causing trouble all over New York. We tracked them back to this place. And weren't we surprised to see whose name was on the wall." Raph said, angrily pointing to said plaque.
Because of course he had to put his name on it.
"I figured you'd find this place eventually." Baron said as he casually changed out of his work clothes.
He threw a lab coat on, which looked ridiculous with the hair net he forgot. Nobody was in the mood to tell him.
"Now that you're here, you can help me." he said, walking past them to the table.
"Help you!?" Leo yelled, still settling for anger while his humor took its vacation.
Mikey started to hope Barron was about to ask for help with his apparent relapse. Mikey could do that. He could support the stuffing out of his dad until he got his dark impulses under control again. He helped him once and he could do it again. He would do it again. Anything to bring his family together again.
But before he could explain any of that, Baron spoke again.
"We can take the time to locate much more suitable subjects with you four helping. It will be so much more efficient than allowing the oozqitos to infect at random. We'll have a suitable army in no time." he explained.
He wasn't even looking at them while he spoke. He was mixing chemicals and working on his project like it was nothing more than a birdhouse.
"Hold up!" Raph yelled, throwing his hands in the air "I think we need to rewind a little bit. Because there is no way we are helping you mutate people!"
He ended his words with a soft growl.
Baron finally started to look concerned.
"What are you talking about? With this new Earth Protection Squad after us, it only stands to reason that we take necessary measures to insure our victory." Barron said sternly, straightening his back like he was giving a lecture.
All four turtles stared at him in every shade from disgust to shock.
"ON WHAT PLANET DOES THAT MEAN MUTATING INNOCENT CIVILIANS!?!?" Mikey screamed, gesturing wildly.
Baron's eyes got cold.
"On this one. And the humans are by no means 'innocent'. They are the ones hunting us!"
"A select group of humans is hunting us. Not the entire species!" Donnie corrected him "And did you forget that we have human friends!? Are you suggesting April is culpable in the EPS?"
"Of course not! O'Neil is one of the good ones." Baron said dismissively.
"'One of the-'!??!?!... Did you really just say that!?" Leo yelled, hardly believing he heard such an old racist line from Baron.
"This is a nightmare." Mikey whispered.
"I'll admit, I didn't foresee this...hostility from you." Baron said, stepping forward. "I am only taking measures to ensure our survival."
"Draxy, you have officially been demoted from 'Dad' to 'Racist Uncle'." Leo snarked. "Keep going and you're getting uninvited to Thanksgiving!"
His humor returned! He had missed it.
Baron shook his head and began closing the distance between him and his sons.
"You are being blind! We must be proactive if we are to-”
He stopped suddenly, his face screwing up in confusion and disgust. He slowly looked down until he saw what he had stepped in.
“What is this?” he asked in a careful tone.
Leo saw an opportunity for sass and took it.
“Oh that? Funny story actually. You see when we saw what you had been doing down here, we were so disgusted Raph tossed his cookies like he was trying to go pro!”
Huh. That came out more angry again. It was a weird day for Leo.
“I see…” Baron said.
He was standing in a puddle of vomit, wearing a hair net and lab coat, and his sons were glaring at him like he was a threat to them. He felt safe counting it as a new low.
What was there to say?
“I only wanted to protect you.” he said quietly.
“With protection like this, who needs danger!?” Leo bitterly laughed.
Oh, so the humor was back again.
Raph was shaking his head.
“This….none of this is right.” he said.
Baron seemed to shrink.
There was silence. A long stretch of nothing charged with tension and regret. Regret for actions taken. Regret for compassion extended. Enough regret to choke on, and if that didn’t do it the silence would finished the job.
Before any of them could snap from the stress, Baron spoke
“What can I do?”
Donnie shook his head and sighed.
“I’m not sure what you could possible do that wouldn’t just make everything worse.”
Mikey let out a frustrated moan.
“This sucks!” he shouted.
Everyone agreed.

I had fun. At the end of the day, that was my primary goal. Second was to make someone happy. Third was to stretch my writing a little.

Leo and Mikey
rant about their brohood under the cut
These two are the brothers ever. Their dynamic is so fun! They bring out the opposite in each other. Like, they are both athletic, responsible young teens with a love of reading (okay maybe Leo being a reader is more my headcanon, but I swear we see him spending his leisure with a book at least once, which is more than the other characters) who both have a deep and openly expressed desire to contribute to the world around them! Leo calls it Bushido, Mikey calls it “the greater good.” And they both love telling silly little jokes! Leo has a darker arc and takes on more of a leader role, but he doesn’t get annoyed with Mikey’s jokes the way Raph and Donnie do, and sometimes during a fight, if he’s relaxed, his sense of humor shines through (like his interactions with Usagi).
But put them together and they are not the same shade of green. All of a sudden instead of two teenage ninja turtles, you have yourself a Ninja and a Teenager. Mikey is beaming at the camera with a big thumbs up and an arm around Leo, who glares intensely into the middle space. And the best part is, they’re both enjoying themselves. Leo isn’t 100% serious leader guy, but he plays that role, because he sees that it will help his family and because he enjoys it! Being the ninja guy is his favorite thing! And in the exact same way, Mikey plays the goofball role, for the greater good, because that’s a way he can use what he loves to help the people he loves. They are both such showboats but they’ve taken opposite approaches and they really seem to respect and enjoy that about each other.
When Leo trains Mikey for his second Battle Nexus is a pretty defining moment. I adore the trust Leo is showing here. He’s got a lot going on, and what we’ve mainly seen from him in his interactions with his family at this point is that he criticizes. Everything. They’re always being too lazy or careless, not taking the threats as seriously as he does. But he’s so much less that way with Mikey. At the start of the episode he’s apparently been pushing Raph and Don to train all morning beyond what Master Splinter would expect (Raph says “if I have to beat you up one more time, I’m really gonna beat you up,” implying that the beating up was Leo’s idea), and yet he has no complaints about Mikey sitting off to the side reading comic books. And then when Mikey asks for more training he immediately offers it, without making a single comment about how Mikey’s been slacking before.
Now, maybe this is just Leo being soft on his littlest brother. But I don’t think that really adds up. His whole deal at that point is that he has to push himself harder to protect his family. If he actually thought Mikey were slacking off and causing problems for the team, and considering the way we’ve seen him scold him for that before, I don’t think he would hesitate to come down hard on him. But he doesn’t. And when they train together, Leo opens up more to Mikey than he has to anyone. It seems like Leo is going easy on Mikey because he really doesn’t see a need to be hard on him. He talks to him about digging deep and protecting the family. He knows his little brother has it in him. Like, that training scene almost feels like Leo picking a successor in the case of him not being able or willing to lead anymore. I’m not saying it is That, but the vibes are similar. He sees a lot of strength in Mikey and you can feel him trying to draw it out.
And Mikey does step up! Not just in the Battle Nexus but as a leader. He helps keep the peace more directly than he had done before. Even after Leo returns, you see Mikey sometimes guiding him along, reminding him of his goals, helping keep the team on track. And he does it without giving up his chosen goofball role. What a legend.
Anyway I love how when they’re together they lean into their respective roles, I love even more how they learn from each other to let more parts of themselves shine through. Leo loosens up and Mikey steps up. And they share this sense of higher moral responsibility that speaks of a positive view of a world that has been cruel to them. They’re just such good kids.
Also, they laugh a each other’s jokes. That’s very important.
Favorite moment: when Leo meets Shredder and almost joins him. All of his interactions with Mikey in that episode are excellent. But especially when Mikey isn’t even there and he mimics his voice to call the letter that just landed at his feet “air mail.” Bro is alone and still has to credit his jokes to Mikey. “This is my goofy little brother he says goofy things. I don’t say goofy things unless I’m mimicking him.”

All in all, it got me thinking so much, did F!Leo never think that without him the brothers might have become completely different people?
Maybe they would have felt all their lives that they were missing Junior? They felt a great longing for someone they didn't even know. Maybe it would have changed them. Would they ever be able to forgive F!Leo for taking their brother away from them?
Yes I’m so glad you brought it up because you see I have been doing some thinking on how this would actually affect the family. I did mention something about an its a wonderful life scenario. So prepare for my ramblings good citizens!
To talk about how the boys were affected you first have to talk about Splinter... Yeah he did not handle the loss of his son well at all. He spent a lot of their early years out looking for Leo jr. Who he could never find and eventually gave up, believing he was dead. This made him super paranoid and he will pack everyone up and force them to move every few months at random with no warning. Admittedly I haven't thought much about his personal arc that will come with time suffice to say he is even more neglectful than in canon.
Raph has DID in this au because I made an entire comic about it so clearly I’m obsessed with the idea. Raph as 3 alters Red(inspired by Red.Angel.Of.Preventing.Harm), Savage and Raph himself, Mind Raph’s role has sort of been replaced(we’ll get to that). Savage is obsessed with finding ‘blue’ he will front and go out scouring the sewers for him, during that time it’s not safe for anyone to leave the lair. Raph is very much like what he is in canon except he fronts less sharing the body between Red and Savage more often and is somehow more anxious and pressured to protect his brothers. In place of Mind Raph he has a vision? Hallucination? Straight up Introject Alter? of Leo jr as a child who acts very bright and bubbly, a representation of the little brother he couldn't protect. Red has the same except his version of Leo is as an older teen who mocks him for his failings as a brother. His Leo represents the brother they all need, someone who could do a better job than him who could actually keep the family together. Red resents Leo jr for the hole he left behind in the family and his own projected issues. Feeling incredibly guilty for blaming a most likely dead kid for his own short comings. Red is the only one that ventures beyond the sewers after Splinter stopped, doing supply runs and the like.
Mikey in this is still trying to play the role of family therapist but is getting tired/burnt out from it. All his attempts, strategies and plans always fail or get shot down so he is halfway to giving up. His attitude is less upbeat because of this leaning more towards Dr Delicate touch. The only one really willing to spare him time is Raph who smothers him so Mikey keeps trying to distance himself. He yearns for independence(or to just get out of the lair away from the stifling negativity there) but he’s not allowed to go to the surface. So usually when Savage isn’t out and about he is going around painting the sewers. Mikey’s only confidant and support by their teen years is Leo jr. When every things too much and he’s alone Mikey will just go lie down in the room that they have always had set aside for leo and talk to their air. He likes to pretend Leo jr is the brother he needs that he never had, that believes in him that would help bring the family together for movie nights and to have fun.
Donnie is practically a stranger to the family. He never leaves the lair and rarely leaves his lab, too paranoid that someone is going to come back and take him or the others next. He spends his time making weapons and fortifying whatever lair they have set up in. No one in the family really understands him the way his twin would have and with barely getting to spend any time with him they don’t know how to accommodate him. Splinter picking them up and moving them every few months sets him off like nothing else not only is he out of the safety of the lairs he had fortified but he has to get used to a whole new environment, readjust with little to no warning. Which(speaking from experience cough cough) can be really hard, especially when you’re Autistic. He will often have mental shutdowns or meltdowns just needing to hide himself away under a desk or in a closet for hours to calm down, this is a bi weekly event. He doesn't morn Leo junior the way the rest of them do, more so fears the unknown of what happened to him. That mourning period comes after they meet(because come on I’m going to make them meet at some point the fluff and the angst potential is too much) where he can grieve what could have been.
So all in all it’s going to be very hard to forgive the man that took their brother away.

ROTTMNT HEADCANONS
You know, I feel like all the turtles would be someone special to Y/N.
-Raph is the safe one. The one Y/N can always rely on for a good cuddle. Raph's bulk lets him wrap around anyone is a warm hug, and it feels like the epitomy of safety- nothing can touch Y/N there. He the one Y/N can call sobbing and he'll murmur reassurances until he hears soft snores coming through.
-Leo is the protective one. If Y/N's got a problem, he's the first to leap into action, whether it be first-degree murder or grabbing a bandaid from the medkit for a paper cut.
-Donnie's the advisor. He overthinks so much that he's good at it, and if Y/N ever needs the pros and cons of a decision, Donnie's the first they will ask.
-Mikey would be the one to distract Y/N from any icky feelings. Whether it be talking, playing video games, and just relaxing in each other's presence, he is the turtle that helps ground Y/N when they get in their head.
Of course, they're all jealous of each other and take forever to realize this. Raph doesn't get why Y/N never comes to him for advice. Leo thinks he would be a better problem solver if he could help you make decisions. Mikey gets frustrated that Y/N didn't seem to trust him when they need help. Donnie wants to be the helpful distraction. It takes discussing their individual experiences with Y/N to realize the roles they've unconsciously taken up for Y/N, and how important they each are to Y/N, just in different ways.
Ok rant over.
