⋆ the angst part is like... real angsty (esp number 52, it got my eye twitching)
⋆ the angst part has some sensitive topics like being blamed for someone's death and mental illnesses
⋆ it was really hard for me to think of fluff prompts so i got almost all prompts after number 15 from here.
⋆ I don't write smuts (U), yandere(U), mafia(C), agere(C) or poly(C)
U = uncomfortable writing
C = i just can't write these, the final product is usually shit HELP

Italian Lovers Celebrate Valentine's Day February 2012 | Margie Longano Miklas Italian Lovers Celebrate Valentine's Day Italian Lovers Celebrate Valentine's Day Valentine's Day is synonymous with love and Italians traditionally have been considered to be lovers. Known in Italy as "La Festa Degli Innamorati," Valentine's Day is celebrated only between lovers and sweethearts. Young sweethearts in Italy profess their love for each other all year round with a more recent tradition, attaching padlocks or "lucchetti" to bridges and railings and throwing away the key.
The celebration of Valentine's Day in Italy is actually an imported holiday from the American tradition, just like Halloween which was never originally an Italian tradition but is celebrated today. It is a holiday for romantic couples and children do not exchange Valentine cards as they do in the United States.
History
Valentine's Day actually has its origin in the Roman Empire as a holiday on February 14 to celebrate the Queen of Roman gods and goddesses. The ancient Romans also considered this queen named Juno to be the goddess Queen of Women and Marriage.
Another legend related to the origin of Valentine's Day refers to St. Valentine who was a priest who defied the Roman emperors' order banning marriage between lovers during wartime and Valentine secretly married them. Once this was discovered, he was put to death on February 14 and later was named a saint by Pope Gelasius.
Valentine Celebrations in Italy
To celebrate this lovers' holiday Italians give each other flowers, plan romantic dinners and present each other with chocolates, much like in the United States. The renowned Italian chocolate maker, Perugina celebrates this day by making a special edition of the Baci chocolate candies with a shiny red wrapper and a sweet red cherry and liquid center rather than the traditional hazelnut one. These chocolates are always a favorite and inside the foil wrapper there is a "love note" with a romantic phrase.
Florence and Venice are traditionally considered to be two of the most romantic places in Italy but Verona, the city of Romeo and Juliet celebrates Valentine's Day with a four-day celebration of events designated "Verona in Love." In the center of Piazza dei Signori a giant red heart is painted on the street and illuminated heart-shaped lanterns are featured throughout the city center. Free concerts with romantic themes take place in Piazza dei Signori and there is a contest for the most beautiful letter written to Juliet. To attract lovers and sweethearts to spend a weekend in Verona, many of the local hotels offer deals and the restaurants feature specially priced menus.
Locks of Love or Lucchetti dell'Amore
The tradition of locking padlocks to bridges, railings and lamp posts began in Italy a little more than four years ago after the release of the best-selling book "Ho voglio di te" (I want you) by the Italian author Federico Moccia. This was followed by the popular movie with the same name starring Riccardo Scamarcio and Laura Chiatti.
In the story young lovers tie a chain and a padlock around a lamppost on the north side of Rome's ponte Milvio and inscribes their names on it, lock it and throw the key into the Tiber River below. The action suggests that the couple will be together forever.
Throughout Italy I have found these locks usually near bridges but also in more peculiar places such as an overhead sign on the walking tail in the Cinque Terre. Many cities have placed bans on having these locks on bridges citing that it takes away from the beauty and culture of the structure and also adding safety concerns.
Most recently the Rome authorities have issued a decree that the thousands of padlocks on the ponte Milvio must be removed, and in Venice a few months earlier the authorities removed hundred of locks from the Accademia Bridge and announced their intent to do the same on the Rialto Bridge over the Grand Canal.
In Florence police removed more than 5000 locks from the ponte Vecchio where it is a crime to attach these locks today yet they continue to appear anywhere they can be attached. The phenomenon has spread to Turin, Bologna, Palermo and even into other European countries. Love conquers all seems to apply here as it is a losing battle with the Italian authorities.

Swami Amar Jyoti -God's Presence on Our Path from Swami Amar Jyoti
PRABHUSHRI SWAMI AMAR JYOTI -- A Brief Biography
In 1958, taking initiation of Vidyut Sannyas (lit:"lightning"--a kind https://swamiamarjyoti.wordpress.com/ of monasticism that's a self-initiated ) in the holy site of Badrinath of Himalaya, and carrying the title Swami Amar Jyoti (Swami--Knower of the Self; Amar Jyoti--Immortal Light), He descended into the plains of India for His God-given mission into the world. The Ashram Gurudeva founded was Jyoti Ashram, under Ananda Niketan Trust, located in Pune, Maharashtra, India. Samadhi mid rangeAfter four decades spent continually traveling, giving Satsang and Retreats, establishing Ashrams and directing innumerable spirits to higher understanding, Gurudeva took Mahasamadhi release of the mortal body. Prabhushri Swami Amar Jyoti was born in a small town in northwestern India, not far from the banks of the Indus River on May 6, 1928. His parents called Him Rama. Much beloved by family and professors, He shocked everyone with the choice to leave home a few months before graduation, saying,"I'd love to read an open book of this world for my education." At the age of nineteen, without money or any specific destination, He took the train He discovered arriving in Calcutta. In 1960 a silent and glowing Holy Man, dressed in the ochre robe of a sannyasin (wandering monk) descended from the heights of Himalaya and started traveling the length and breadth of India in pilgrimage, living on alms and the providence of God through His fellow man. Walking on a road in South India one dayHe had been offered a ride by a guy on his way following His exile from Tibet to a religious conference in Madras in honor of the Dalai Lama. The Man consented to accompany him to the gathering of monks abbots and pundits and, without having said but a few words to his host, was given a seat. In another town of South India, the Holy Man was asked to give Satsang (spiritual discourse), for the first time in His life, and in English, in the Vivekananda Teacher's Training College in Tiruchirappalli. His title was Swami Amar Jyoti. Refugees were pouring over the border of East Bengal (now Bangladesh) into West Bengal by the thousands each day. He decided to leave the company to become a volunteer for the refugees and headed the entire volunteer corps there. With a devotee He accepted an offer in 1961 to go to the United States. Finally the sincerity of His disciples persuaded Prabhushri to establish an Ashram, and Sacred Mountain Ashram was founded in 1974 followed by Desert Ashram under the nonprofit organization in 1975 Truth Consciousness He continued to pursue religious enlightenment and humanitarian service before retiring to Himalaya where He lived for around ten years, one-pointed on the Goal of Liberation in meditation and silence. Many places of pilgrimage were seen walking on foot miles each day. But the temple village close to the source of the Ganga River, a cave in Gangotri, was the place of awakenings His spiritual disciplines and, eventually, Illumination.

Meanwhile, Trump led a confused White House response to a self-inflicted controversy caused by the White House not keeping flags at half mast for the customary period of time.
Trump eventually re-lowered flags and made a statement saying he respected McCain.

Sen. John McCain's office issued his farewell statement to the American people after his death on Saturday. In it he slammed President Donald Trump's policies as the president became mired in controversy over his apparent disrespect for the former Arizona senator.
McCain, the GOP's 2008 presidential candidate and longtime party leadership figure, and Trump — a political neophyte whose now wide grip on the party dates back less than two years— had long been rivals.
McCain, who survived North Vietnamese forces shooting down his plane, a failed ejection that shattered three of his limbs, a savage beating by the waiting enemy, and a stint as a prisoner of war wherein he refused early release to favor other US captives, has repeatedly had his status as a war hero questioned by Trump.
The two frequently sparred on issues of decorum. McCain also dealt a death blow to Trump's American Health Care Act, severely setting back the president's legislative agenda.
But in dying, McCain made clear his true feelings for Trump by asking him not to attend his funeral and rebuking him in his final words to the country.
From McCain's farewell:
"We weaken our greatness when we confuse our patriotism with tribal rivalries that have sown resentment and hatred and violence in all the corners of the globe. We weaken it when we hide behind walls, rather than tear them down, when we doubt the power of our ideals, rather than trust them to be the great force for change they have always been."
Trump's controversial response to McCain's death
Since McCain's death, Trump has come under fire for a confused and possibly disrespectful response to the passing of an American who served his country for sixty years.
Initially, Trump made no statement on McCain himself, only wishing his family well in wake of his death. Later, Trump's White House bucked the long-established trend of flying flags at half mast from the time of a Senator's death to his burial.
The White House and Pentagon, buildings under control of the executive branch, raised their flags shortly after McCain's death, while Congress continued to keep theirs low.
"I doubt you could find a comparable situation where the president doesn't order the flag flown at half-mast until the funeral," said John Lawrence, history professor at the University of California's Washington Center to Reuters.
"The disparity between the Congress and White House policy is obviously noticeable and somewhat shocking."
On Monday, the flags returned to half staff along with a statement from Trump that struck a more conciliatory note after hours of pressure from veteran's groups.
"Despite our differences on policy and politics, I respect Senator John McCain's service to our country and, in his honor, have signed a proclamation to fly the flag of the United States at half-staff until the day of his interment," the statement said.
In his death, McCain left a hole in Congress and the fabric of American public life, as well as a vision of how the country can recover from political divisiveness.
From McCain:
"We are three hundred and twenty five million opinionated, vociferous individuals. We argue and compete and sometimes even vilify each other in our raucous public debates. But we have always had so much more in common with each other than in disagreement. If only we remember that and give each other the benefit of the presumption that we all love our country we will get through these challenging times. We will come through them stronger than before. We always do."
Read McCain's full farewell below:
"My fellow Americans, whom I have gratefully served for sixty years, and especially my fellow Arizonans.
"Thank you for the privilege of serving you and for the rewarding life that service in uniform and in public office has allowed me to lead. I have tried to serve our country honorably. I have made mistakes, but I hope my love for America will be weighed favorably against them.
"I have often observed that I am the luckiest person on earth. I feel that way even now as I prepare for the end of my life. I have loved my life, all of it. I have had experiences, adventures and friendships enough for ten satisfying lives, and I am so thankful. Like most people, I have regrets. But I would not trade a day of my life, in good or bad times, for the best day of anyone else’s.
"I owe that satisfaction to the love of my family. No man ever had a more loving wife or children he was prouder of than I am of mine. And I owe it to America. To be connected to America’s causes – liberty, equal justice, respect for the dignity of all people – brings happiness more sublime than life’s fleeting pleasures. Our identities and sense of worth are not circumscribed but enlarged by serving good causes bigger than ourselves.
"'Fellow Americans' – that association has meant more to me than any other. I lived and died a proud American. We are citizens of the world’s greatest republic, a nation of ideals, not blood and soil. We are blessed and are a blessing to humanity when we uphold and advance those ideals at home and in the world. We have helped liberate more people from tyranny and poverty than ever before in history. We have acquired great wealth and power in the process.
"We weaken our greatness when we confuse our patriotism with tribal rivalries that have sown resentment and hatred and violence in all the corners of the globe. We weaken it when we hide behind walls, rather than tear them down, when we doubt the power of our ideals, rather than trust them to be the great force for change they have always been.
We always do.
"Ten years ago, I had the privilege to concede defeat in the election for president. I want to end my farewell to you with the heartfelt faith in Americans that I felt so powerfully that evening.
"I feel it powerfully still.
"Do not despair of our present difficulties but believe always in the promise and greatness of America, because nothing is inevitable here. Americans never quit. We never surrender. We never hide from history. We make history.
"Farewell, fellow Americans. God bless you, and God bless America."

A Spiritual History of Vegetarians
I started my journey to become a vegetarian when I was 15 years old. That is when I had the chance to be around another vegetarian at the dinner table and I realized that it was ok to not eat meat. I had always picked at that food, imagining the life that used to be within the flesh. Maybe it took so long because I had spent the time in hunting crazed places such as Montana that I never had a chance to meet a real vegetarian but when I finally became who I was supposed to be, I became much happier. This choice that I made seemed to affect everyone around me, which was not something that I truly expected. I was never one to try to control other people with my beliefs, after all I was born with pagan ways and that polytheistic belief system has never left me. By just simply being who I am, and honest about it, I made other people angry. It was very surprising, I never expected this. People feel deeply about this. Most of the fear that they showed from my choice was from ignorance of this situation. Many people thought that I was trying to lose weight, it wasn’t being cooked properly, I couldn’t survive properly and other fantasies like that. I actually get quite sick eating or being around fish for consumption, and so to me it seemed the natural choice.
I was uncomfortable with eating meat and I wasn’t going to do it any longer. My parents told me they felt that I should eat animals because they do in the bible yet it says in the bible that animals have spirits and I believe that. I do not want to be a part of suffering for anyone.
From then on, we were purchasing veggie burgers. My friends and their families that really love me also would purchase me veggie burgers for their barbecues and that meant a lot to me. I was also happy to see more vegetables around, because you need vegetables to have a healthy body.
When people attack me for my beliefs, I simply stand up for myself peacefully. I can be friends with people who eat meat and not feel the need to attack their beliefs but for some reason I experienced a lot of bullying when it came to my choice, which I can also compare to being polytheistic. All it takes sometimes at a dinner table with other people is for me to order a veggie meal, for a debate to break out. I admit it is tiring, but no matter what, I can’t suddenly become somebody else that I was never meant to be.
I believe they are more upset at the myths around it and not at me. It seems to come from a place of fear more than anything else. I have been dealing with this for years, and we have to be prepared for this when we speak the truth. Fear turns into hateful and harmful actions sometimes which make my stomach turn.
Practice Compassion Many religious people throughout the ages, such as various Buddhists, practice compassion to all life, not just humankind. This is a choice to eat animal. Vegetarianism and veganism is statistically low for an American’s diet, last time I looked it was something like 10% or less.
In other places, such as Asia, the choice to leave meat off of your place is a healthier and happier choice than to live knowing of suffering of animals and contributing into it.
Vegetarianism originated in India originally from separate religions, such as Jainism which requires that no members eat meat. This religion also requires a path of non-violence and self-control among its members.
In this religion, even an insect must be escorted outside, not harmed. Throughout the ages, many who believed in achieving a higher sense of being on the Earth, have chosen to abstain from eating meat, and it is not a hard choice once you truly develop compassion for these beautiful beings. I have compassion for people who eat meat as well because I know that they do so out of respect for their culture and families, and so I do not judge you as a terrible person, even if you get angry at me.
We are all born as royalty in this life, whether or not we see it. Our choices are made in life and we can make decisions for animals, who are enslaved to humankind and they do so peacefully and graciously, as if it is God’s will. You will never hear the cries of these spirits when you sit down to enjoy a meal but just know, the animal did suffer to bring you sustenance and it should be honored and respected, not ignored. All animals are sacred.
Feed the soul, starve the flesh and be yourself.

If only we remember that and give each other the benefit of the presumption that we all love our country we will get through these challenging times. We will come through them stronger than before.

Politics: Former presidents, congressional leaders, and the military commend John McCain's storied life and service
Former presidents, world leaders, and Congress mourned Sen. John McCain's passing and offered their condolences for his family.
Sen. John McCain died on Saturday, one day after his family announced he would be discontinuing his brain cancer treatment.
Former presidents, world leaders, and Congress mourned his passing and offered their condolences for his family.
Sen. John McCain died on Saturday, one day after his family announced he would be discontinuing his brain cancer treatment.
McCain, a six-term US senator, earned both praise and criticism during his long tenure. But despite political differences, he earned the respect from his colleagues for his storied military service and plain-spoken views.
Former presidents, world leaders, and Congress mourned his passing and offered their condolences for his family.
Here's what they had to say:
Former President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama
"John McCain and I were members of different generations, came from completely different backgrounds, and competed at the highest level of politics. But we shared, for all our differences, a fidelity to something higher – the ideals for which generations of Americans and immigrants alike have fought, marched, and sacrificed.
We saw our political battles, even, as a privilege, something noble, an opportunity to serve as stewards of those high ideals at home, and to advance them around the world. We saw this country as a place where anything is possible – and citizenship as our patriotic obligation to ensure it forever remains that way.
Few of us have been tested the way John once was, or required to show the kind of courage that he did. But all of us can aspire to the courage to put the greater good above our own. At John’s best, he showed us what that means. And for that, we are all in his debt. Michelle and I send our most heartfelt condolences to Cindy and their family."
Former President George W. Bush
"Some lives are so vivid, it is difficult to imagine them ended. Some voices are so vibrant, it is hard to think of them stilled. John McCain was a man of deep conviction and a patriot of the highest order.
He was a public servant in the finest traditions of our country. And to me, he was a friend whom I'll deeply miss.
Laura and I send our heartfelt sympathies to Cindy and the entire McCain family, and our thanks to God for the life of John McCain."
Former President Bill Clinton and former secretary of state and first lady Hillary Clinton
"Senator John McCain believed that every citizen has a responsibility to make something of the freedoms given by our Constitution, and from his heroic service in the Navy to his 35 years in Congress, he lived by his creed every day.
He was a skilled, tough politician, as well as a trusted colleague alongside whom Hillary was honored to serve in the Senate. He frequently put partisanship aside to do what he thought was best for the country, and was never afraid to break the mold if it was the right thing to do.
I will always be especially grateful for his leadership in our successful efforts to normalize relations with Vietnam. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife, Cindy, his mother, Roberta, his children, and his entire family."
Former President Jimmy Carter
"John McCain was a man of honor, a true patriot in the best sense of the word.
Americans will be forever grateful for his heroic military service and for his steadfast integrity as a member of the United States Senate.
Rosalynn and I extend our sincere condolences to Senator McCain's family and to the people of Arizona whom he represented so forthrightly for so many years."
President Donald Trump
"My deepest sympathies and respect go out to the family of Senator John McCain. Our hearts and prayers are with you!," Trump said on Twitter.
United States Naval Academy
"The Naval Academy is mourning the loss of one of our most distinguished graduates, Sen. John McCain (USNA '58)," the United States Naval Academy, McCain's alma mater, said on Twitter. "His life of service to our country is a legacy that will continue to be revered."
Sen. Lindsey Graham
"America and Freedom have lost one of her greatest champions," Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, one of McCain's closest friends, said on Twitter. "And I've lost one of my dearest friends and mentor."
"I will need some time to absorb this, but I want Cindy —and the entire McCain family — to know they are in my prayers," Graham added.
Sen. Chuck Schumer of New York
"As you go through life, you meet few truly great people. John McCain was one of them.
His dedication to his country and the military were unsurpassed, and maybe most of all, he was a truth teller - never afraid to speak truth to power in an era where that has become all too rare. The Senate, the United States, and the world are lesser places without John McCain.
Nothing will overcome the loss of Senator McCain, but so that generations remember him I will be introducing a resolution to rename the Russell building after him."
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell
"Today is a deeply sad day for the Senate and for our nation. Elaine and I join all Americans in mourning the passing of our dear friend and colleague Senator John McCain.
In an era filled with cynicism about national unity and public service, John McCain's life shone as a bright example. He showed us that boundless patriotism and self-sacrifice are not outdated concepts or clichés, but the building blocks of an extraordinary American life.
Generations of McCains have served in our great Navy. John followed their example with distinction. And from his cell in Hanoi to the halls of the Senate, he never stopped fighting with courage and determination – first for his country, then for the people of Arizona, and always for the ideals he believed in most.
It is fitting that this war hero and history-changing legislator should leave us as Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee. John was a constant advocate for his fellow veterans and those currently serving in uniform, standing up for the benefits and care they so earned by defending our freedom. His dedication to them is just one reason among so many why he earned the utmost respect of his colleagues on both sides of the aisle.
It's an understatement to say the Senate will not be the same without our friend John. I will treasure the many memories we've shared together through the years.
The nation mourns the loss of a great American patriot, a statesman who put his country first and enriched this institution through many years of service. The Senate is keeping Cindy, the McCain family, all John's friends and staff, and the people of Arizona in our prayers at this tremendously difficult time."
Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas
"Senator John McCain was a patriot, and an extraordinary American war hero.
Born into a storied Navy family, he spent his entire life in service to his country, including 22 years in the Navy, five and a half of which were spent under the boots of North Vietnamese communists in a Hanoi prison.
First elected to Congress during the Reagan Revolution, he championed the strong national defense that he knew would help ensure the survival of freedom and liberty across the globe. He did things his way, and conducted two campaigns for President of the United States with honor and integrity.
Today, the State of Arizona, and our entire nation, have lost a great public servant. He was larger than life. Although he and I sometimes disagreed, I was deeply privileged to serve with him and proud to call him a friend.
Heidi and I send our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to Cindy, and to the entire McCain family, as they grieve the loss of a loving husband, father, and grandfather. May he rest in peace."
Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida
"John McCain's sacrifices to his country are immeasurable. With his passing today, America has lost more than a leader and more than a senator. We have lost a true American hero.
As a colleague in the Senate and a friend, I drew personal inspiration from his leadership, intellect and moral courage. He set the standard for what we should expect from our soldiers and from our public servants of all levels.
In this time of grief, I hope John's family finds comfort in knowing that this extraordinary man touched countless lives, and his memory will continue to set the standard of leadership and moral resolve for future generations."
