Part 3: Jey Uso vs. Jimmy Uso

Who has a longer history than not only brothers but twin brothers? They've been together since Day One (ish) but now...

If you've read Part 1 of this series, you know all about The Bloodline. Roman Reigns' and his family have been on top of the WWE for the past 3 years. The two most prominent members of this faction has long been the team of The Usos. Since debuting on WWE TV in 2010, this tag team of brothers have been one of the leading teams in the whole company. From brightly-dressed faces to more sinister heels, and even determined tweeners, they are 8-time tag team champions as a duo.

Fast forward 10 years from their debuts. Roman Reigns has just returned to WWE and won the WWE Universal Championship. When a match is set up to determine his next contender, there's a surprising winner: his cousin, Jey Uso.

Jey Uso One half of The Usos, now nicknamed "Main Event", and a member of the Anoa'i Family Standing at 6'2'', weighing 242lbs, from San Francisco, California, USA, he is now a 10-time tag team champion and the son of Rikishi Finisher: Uso Splash

Uso was keen to reunite with his cousin and have a sporting match for the title. Despite his tag team success, many never thought he would have an opportunity to challenge for the World Title. However, with brother Jimmy injured, he had earned this shot. He would face Reigns at Clash of Champions 2020, but Reigns was cold and brutal against his cousin, hitting a low blow on Uso. The match would only end when Jimmy Uso threw in the towel, with Reigns raining down strikes demanding Jey acknowledge him as The Tribal Chief.

A defiant Jey would not back down though, and would take on Reigns again at Hell in a Cell for the title in a Hell in a Cell I Quit match. Reigns would try to destroy his cousin, even fighting off officials who tried to stop the match. Jey would never quit from this. When brother Jimmy arrived and begged their cousin Roman to stop, The Tribal Chief appeared to feel extreme guilt for his actions... before ensnaring Jimmy in a Guillotine Hold. To stop this happening to his brother, Jey finally said "I Quit". Reigns would walk out the victor, and be sat at the head of the Anoa'i table.

With all this, Jey finally bent the knee and joined The Bloodline. He would carry on the momentum of his great matches as the "Right Hand Man" of Reigns. In May 2021, Jimmy Uso would return from injury, and despite some conflict, he would shortly join The Bloodline too. In this time, The Usos would dominate the tag team division, winning their 7th and 8th championships as part of The Bloodline. These were both sets of WWE Tag Titles which they held consecutively for 316 days, holding the Smackdown titles for 622 days total.

During this reign, Jey would almost leave The Bloodline over the excommunication of Sami Zayn, but he would turn his back on his friend. It was in the main event of Wrestlemania 39: Saturday that The Usos lost the titles to Zayn & Kevin Owens, and having failed to recapture them, Reigns was losing his patience with them. When he and Solo Sikoa, The Usos' younger brother, challenged for the titles, it would be Jimmy who would cost them the match and leave The Bloodline by superkicking Reigns. Whilst they tried to keep Jey from leaving, he would side with his brother no matter what. At Money in the Bank 2023, The Usos would defeat Reigns & Sikoa with Jey being the first man to pin Reigns since December 2019.

This would lead to Reigns defending against Jey Uso one more time in the main event of Summerslam 2023 in an anything-goes Tribal Combat match. Jey was building up a head of steam when the unthinkable happened. He was pulled from the ring when he had Reigns beat. Who did it? His brother, Jimmy Uso.

Jimmy Uso The other half of The Usos, part of the Anoa'i Family, and son of Rikishi. Standing at 6'3'', 251lbs, from San Francisco, California, USA, he is an 8-time tag team champion. Finisher: Uso Splash

Jey would go on to lose this match, and when he confronted Jimmy, he said he feared what the power would do to Jey's head. Heartbroken, Jey would quit the company, but would eventually return to the Raw show away from his family. It's here where he would establish himself as "Main Event" Jey Uso, challenging for their World Title and being a part of their top tier talent. He would reclaim both sets of Tag Team Championships briefly with Cody Rhodes, and even become known for his use of the term "Yeet".

Jimmy would rejoin The Bloodline without Jey, and he began to get even more desperate as he was under high pressure from Reigns. These two brothers would continue to feud though. They would brawl, Jimmy would cost Jey matches, and Jimmy would even coin "No Yeet". It became obvious that this needed to end, and where else but Wrestlemania?

Tag Partner vs. Tag Partner. Brother vs. Brother. Twin vs. Twin. At Wrestlemania XL Saturday, it all comes down to Jey Uso vs. Jimmy Uso.

The Katanga alumni say they will continue to fight until management rescinds its decision on the conversion of hall.

Alumni of the University Hall, popularly referred to as Katanga at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), have described the University’s decision to convert the hall into a mixed one as “senseless”.

According to them, they will continue to fight until management rescinds its decision on the conversion of hall.

Spokesperson of the Katanga Alumni, Nana Otu Turskson, said they have already resorted to court to seek an injunction to halt management’s decision.

“That decision doesn’t make sense. It is not backed by any research. There is a plethora of academic work on the advantages of men and women getting education…it just doesn’t make sense,” he told Accra-based Citi FM.

“We are not in this for a short time. We are Katangees, we rest not [and] the allegiance will always be there. It doesn’t matter how hard they fight …we’ll be fighting back we have secured an injunction to push it to the logical conclusion, not for ourselves. We are no longer on campus it doesn’t benefit anybody, but for posterity and the future of Ghana.

“We are not backing off; we will be on them until the right thing is done,” he added.

On Wednesday, management of the KNUST announced that from the next academic year, which begins this September, all halls in the school will house both male and females.

The single-sex halls which have been converted include Katanga, Unity, Africa, Independence, University, Unity and Queen Elizabeth.

Management noted that the conversion tallies with “the University’s policy of expanding access to female students remain unchanged.”

Welcome to the land of the grossness, AGAIN. Folks, this is about 10 kinds of NOOOO that actual indigenous folks can do a lot better job explaining the finer points, but here’s the “white people 101-A” version if you just want to know why you should not buy this stuff and should complain to amazon/other sellers if you see it posted for sale.

A--this is PLAINS-inspired. while a lot of Nations had SOME kind of ceremonial headdresses they definitely didn’t all look like this. (google Tlingit/Haida/Salish for some West Coast ones, for example. according to google Navajo/Dine basically didn’t do the full-fledged headdress thing at all.) IMO you COULD probably use that as a basis to argue that the high visibility of this shit is part of why some folks are confused and think that all indigenous cultures are the same, which is very much not true.

B--even in the the Nations that DO have somewhat similar headdresses to this, you EARN those pretty much a feather or two at a time (one guy compared them to a Purple Heart), which leads to:

C--even if you’ve earned your headdress you normally would not be wearing it except at a culturally significant type deal. 

(Powwow-somebody’s who’s earned a headdress probably would be wearing theirs. While some portions of powwows are basically “say hi to the extended clan you haven’t seen since the LAST powwow/eat some tasty food/check out the up-and-coming singers/dancers/drummers” some parts ARE sacred, which is one of the reasons why while some pow-wows are open to the general public as long as you’re respectful and suchlike but some aren’t.)

In most cases, sporting events/music festivals/parties/clubs/etc. are NOT considered appropriate. (If somebody was opening with a prayer-type deal or possibly if it’s a performance BY indigenous folks who earned theirs it might be, but that is definitely above and beyond my “I like to think I at least got most of the academic 101-A level shit down by now but I’m still white so my lived experience is GONNA be stuck on zero” cultural knowledge.) .

As far as I can tell, the Jets are still the only NHL team to have some kind of “no headdress in here”-specific policy, at least based on “first page of google results”. 

Given that Winnipeg has a pretty substantial First Nations/Metis/probably some Inuk and Innu overall population/potential fan base and at least for the moment is in the same division as the Blackhawks who I think need a rename/logo switchout, this makes sense. (LA technically has more indigenous folks than Winnipeg, but LA is also practically the size of a small state and doesn’t have a division rival whose name/logo/team ambassador if it’s still Bobby Hull aren’t 3 good arguments for “nope hockey still hasn’t fulfilled the ‘we’re for everyone’ promise yet”.)

Kenya have come up against the Black Stars eight times, with the West Africans emerging victorious on four occasions with two matches drawn.

Black Stars coach, James Kwesi Appiah has named a 23-man squad for September's 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Kenya.

According to a Ghanasoccernet.com report, the leaked document includes midfielder, Kwadwo Asamoah, who has been absent from the team for about four-years.

The surprise factor is the absence of captain, Asamoah Gyan and Andre and Jordan Ayew.

The leaked document also reveal the names of three debutants - Obeng Reagan, Joseph Aidoo and Ernest Ohemeng for the match to be played in Nairobi.

The purported list is said to be made up of only foreign based players.

The question is, finally, did Clinton lie to the Grand Jury or was he artfully non-responsive.

This was back when 3/5s a man determined Congressional representation and established the balance of power in the House of Representatives.  Losing the popular vote made winning the Electoral College theoretically impossible, even in a plurality.

So, somehow, the Electoral College is corrupted by the loser of the popular vote by very clever deep data. Until he bragged about the Russians giving him Clinton's analytics after his public overture for support for any Russians out there, I assumed his genius at evaluating ratings was the source of his victory. I gave him the credit he was due: he had stolen the election, fair and square, and that's the way the game has been played since at least Joe Kennedy in 1960.

But Donny Duckass accepted material value from a foreign agent determined to pervert the 2016 election and that's a High Crime.

The important thing to understand is that Putin had nothing to do with it, which is Part 1 of the Mueller Report: there has never been any collusion between the Kremlin and the Trump organization since 1986 because they consider his "Art of the Deal" to be a parody of a 19th Century capitalist.

Part 2 of the Mueller Report is all about the people Donny Duckass did, in fact, colluded with in Moscow to stage the Miss Universe Pageant and are part of the Shadow Agenda Rudy Giuliani revealed with his Ukrainian "drug deal".

Virtually any billionaire that objects to the banking and security reforms of Pocahontas probably has some 'splaing to do in regards to Jeffrey Epstein.

The Clintons probably have some 'splaining to do, but, by and large, you probably won't find them or the Bidens or Putin in the Rudy Giuliani "drug deal" mix.

But everybody with a (R) behind their name has lined up, like good soldiers, behind the High Crime that put Donny Duckass in the Oval Office.  And they hope you won't notice.
