Spring Festitales Dressup--Aluwa & Maisa
@springfestitales
Aluwa came here with two different outfit modes: One, the type of historical costume a Draconid would wear to a Renaissance Faire. And two, something decked out with futuristic flair that would stick out in an old-timey village like a sore thumb, but that's really kind of the point. And her Ren Faire outfit is in the wash today. So!
Here comes the cybernetic glitch queen and her best friend, her royal mount. She's wearing a long dress that resembles a qipao but goes down almost to her feet, brown at the bottom and sewn with patterns resembling the lines in tree bark--but slowly blending with a green top where the tree bark lines transform into cybernetic neon green veins topped with geometrically angular sakura blossoms. The geometric lines in her black prosthetics also glow bright green and end in glowing pink nodules that also represent sakuras. Her long black deerlike horns are woven with vibrant flower garlands, and her head bears a flower crown. The mechanical right half of her face has been taken out and replaced by a painstakingly painted scene of a springtime field with cherry blossom trees under a bright blue cloudless sky, and the mechanical right eye has been taken out and replaced by a white magnolia...But what’s this? Her whole body appears to be glitching with magic, much like you might see as special effects on a computer screen, except it’s in real life. As the glitches occur, you see flashes of the painting change into a bleak wasteland under a burning sky, the flowers on her head and horns look wilted, and the dress turns black with the cybernetic lines dyed an angry reddish yellow....Then they go back to normal. Which may not be the wisest choice given that Aluwa nearly legitimately burned down the place, but she made this costume before she did it, and she’s damn proud of her work.
Maisa is similarly dressed. The gryphon-drake bears a beaded saddle fringed with long brown feathers, with flower garlands woven around her head and wings. The beads on her saddle form flower patterns interwoven with neon blue cybernetic geometric lines that flash bright blue to represent the storms of spring, and then dark blue to represent rivers; her internal electricity creates these lines across her body as well. One half of her face has a mask of its own, which represents the clouds and further carries forth the thunderstorm theme, plasmatic blue cybernetics glowing with the electrical energy that she carries within, all quite striking against her gold and white body. And like her partner she’s glitching—when the glitch comes around the storms have swamped the vibrant life depicted in the rest of her costume, her body darkens and you can see her glowing skeleton.

So exited for my package to arrive this week!!!!
It's my partner's birthday in March and he's has gone on a few times about this Sri Lankan dessert he loves called Kokis.
I haven't made it for him before as it requires a specific tool however I ordered it and am going to make a practice batch which will be tested by my coworker who is also Sri Lankan to make sure I made it correctly before I made it for my partner's birthday.
It's been my new years resolution to learn Sri lankan recipes and so far I've made Pol roti, Pol toffee, black pork curry, tumeric tempered potatoes, rice with the traditional seasonings and aluwa. I've also made two fusion dishes, sri lankan style Tuna pasta and sri lankan style potato and egg salad.
The potato and egg salad was mainly an excuse to make a fuck ton of the tempered potatoes as that shit is sooo fucking good
If anyone wants to see the kokis when I make please do let me know.

As Green reached the end, the adrenaline in his body peaked. He and his partner garchomp flew like a jet, splashing water all over the contestants behind them.
Just for a second, he came in first place. Tight for sure, but still first place!
As they came to a stop, he turned to Aluwa to give them a beaming nod, same to Giacomo right after. Amazing competition, he hopes they'll know that. Same goes for everyone else, quickly coming to the end line to join them.
Leaving the water made the professor realize how cold it really was. During the race he barely had time to think about things, but now, coming out drenched in Sinnoh's snowy winter weather sure gave him all the chills.
As reporters came to ask him about the race, he and his partner Garchomp smiled wide. With his signature salutation, he answered:
"It was a pretty hard competition. Everyone was really good and fast." Gods above, he can barely stay still with the cold. Someone threw a towel on his shoulders. "I'm not surprised I won, though. I did say I wouldn't disappoint! Remember to donate to habitat preservation, eh?"
Thankfully the reporters allow him to walk away, maybe realizing how much he trembled in cold. He'll be sure to reward his partner garchomp later, after all, without it, he couldn't have won!
#;;feel free to have your muse come congratulate him <3#sinnohlunarfestival2024#leo green#dash event#dash commentary?#;;HE WON YIIPEEE

Spring Festitales Fashion Show - Luchta and Kura
@springfestitales
And now, for the next contestants…Oh my god, it's a fucking joke entry. Luchta and Kura are having a grand old time poking fun at their two moms, Aluwa and Nalini, in the same outfit that they've been standing in by the shops of Spring Rise Village for the past few hours.
Luchta is dressed in a kigurumi of his mother's dragon form. It's a soft and floppy version of the jet-black, six-limbed, 40-foot terror that had most recently been the bane of the village, with his arms and legs sticking out as four of the limbs and two additional plush/felt limbs hanging limply by the sides of his arms. The head, which resembles one of those T-rex hats except it's all black and has googly eyes whose pupils roll around as Luchta moves, also contains a crest of feathers and circular appendages that mocks the terrifying flaring crest of Aluwa's dragon form, and the mouth of the headpiece has felt teeth. Around Luchta's neck is a shaming sign that reads, "I almost burned down Spring Rise Village in the name of a revolution and all I got was my wife's stupid lecture." His sister, meanwhile, stands next to him in Naga (half-serpent) form, wearing one of Nalini's saris and staring at Luchta with the most "are you fucking serious" look on her face…
Well, that's one way to make memories.

^^^ CLICK TO LISTEN TO THE BROADCAST OF THE RACE!
Transcript from the First Segment of the Lunar Race:
Good morning everybody!
This is Kinsey from Sinnoh Now, coming to you from a helicopter LIVE in collaboration with Goldenrod Radio.
It's a chilly morning in Pastoria City, where the first leg of the race is taking place. Welcome to the Water Track, where it's wet, cold and full of surprises!
Starting in Pastoria on Route 213, rounding Sunyshore City and ending on the first finish line right in front of our glorious Pokemon League building where the Elite Four are ready to receive our racers today!
We got some interesting contenders this year folks.
All the way from Unova, we have King Ghetsis Harmonia, looking super dashing in his racing suit.
Oh, I see Miss Rika, a former Paldea Elite walking down to the starting line, speaking with Hassel, another Elite from Paldea.
We have infamous Poketar Studio actor and leader of the Orre Region, Alistair taking his spot next to his Garchomp.
It's an amazing line up this year, for sure. Let's cheer them all on as we start off this year's Lunar Race!
*1-2-3- GO!!*
And they're off!!
Brian, our Sinnoh League pick is starting off strong, blasting ahead of the pack with Chelsea! Who knew Garchomp could swim so well!
Following him is Ashe with Kumiko, keeping on his tail.
Not so far away is our Pokestar, Alistair! Daisy looks like she really wants to give it her all.
Oh, hey, what's going on back at the wharf? Seems as if Hassel is having trouble with his mount! Rosso isn't jumping into the water with the rest of them. Hassel is calming his Garchomp down and is now starting the race after everyone else has already gone!
Brian's keeping up a good speed, but what's this? Green Oak has torpedo to the front, coming from all the way back without warning.
Giacomo, isn't letting him get away with the lead and is chasing after him with Tyrant. The look in that kid's eyes is intense!
They're getting closer to Sunyshore now, but it looks like another racer is having issues riding her Garchomp through the water. The waters sure are icier than usual this year, huh? Looks like Aluwa is a bit stuck with Torque – oh, wait, they got out and are sliding along the smooth ice to make up for lost time!
Green Oak is still maintaining his incredible lead, leaving behind the rest of the competition in his dust – OH, NO! He just got slammed by a Water Gun from a passing Floatzel, what an upset!
Here comes Giacomo, taking the opportunity to swim past with Tyrant, taking the lead.
Oh, there must be a whole school of Buizel and Flotzel in that part of the water – so many of the racers are getting hit with Water Guns from the disgruntled Pokemon! Giacomo and Tyrant have jumped over all the Buizel and Floatzel, completely bypassing them all! And they're swimming ahead of everyone else! Luwa is hot on his tail, though!
Alistair is following behind after wiping off his face, rushing after them with Daisy. Ghetsis is right on Alistair's tail, though.
Yris of Team Bidoof is finally squeaking on by and all our racers have made it through and are now passing Sunyshore to head to the finish line at the Pokemon League!
Giacomo is leading up the pack in first place, followed by Aluwa in second, with Alistair in third.
Ghetsis coming in fourth, with Green and Brian fighting for fifth place. Sixth currently has Hassel holding the spot. After that follows Blue, Hilary, Ashe, Rika and Yris.
Our racers are starting to see the entrance to the Pokemon League building and – hey, what's that sound? Is that....singing?
I don't believe it! The Bidoof have come out to sing their song from a few years ago. They're flooding the waters as they're singing, blocking off all the racers from their goal. Oh, but it really is such a cute s--
HEY WAIT. Aluwa is just smashing through those cute little Bidoof. Poor things, but they really shouldn't be in the – Hey, Giacomo is also doing it, too! Look at those Bidoof fly! Everyone else is trying to jump over or get around the Bidoof without attacking them, so they can catch up with their compatriots.
Because of the sudden distraction, a lot of the racers are being left in the dust, but look at that! Green, Aluwa and Giacomo are at the forefront with Aluwa and Green practically neck to neck as they push their Garchomp to max swimming speeds towards the finish. Look at that water splash!
It's Green...it's Aluwa, it's Green...Aluwa, Green, Aluwa, Green, Aluwa –
AND IT'S GREEEEEEEN! HOW EXCITING!
Followed by Aluwa in second place and Giacomo in third!
Everyone congratulate Green on his victory for the first leg of the race. Everyone else also did a great job, too, what spunk! What energy! The racers really put their all into the first segment.
Folks, I can't tell you how excited I feel. That was a great race. I hope to see you all for the second part of the race on the Floating Isles on January 15. Let's give these racers and their Garchomps some time to rest and praise for their hard work. For now, this is Kinsey of Sinnoh Now, signing off!
