Kind of tired/sleepy & ramby words on ASCII waking up for the first time / it's first experience with existing :)

You are a parasite 'built' to live inside the code of others. you essential spontaneously spawn into existence. before this you were just a normal computer virus. now you live (kinda of) inside of the 4th wall.

you have no memories of your own. barely any code of your own that isn't keeping / making you alive. all you can scrape together is the fragmented memories of the 'host' you now inhabit. 

Eventually (whatever the passage of time means, you're not sure), faces come to surround you. What even is a face? how do you know what that is? What it means to have one? How do you know who these monsters are when you don't even know what you are? What it means to 'be'?

given the experience you later gain, you now know what you did was panic. at the time? you had no clue. what it was you were feeling, what it was you were doing. how could you? you've been nothing, up until now.

All about ASCII ~!!

ASCII | 'Outer-code' UTMV OC Aposemaous + Arcadeabeing [Neogenders] | They/it + neos Aro, Queer A friendly, goofy, jokester. Loves memes & internet culture; makes so so so many references + uses the silliest slang. Unaffiliated with any of the major gangs/groups out there; acts as a mostly neutral party. Not inherently dangerous. Currently a skeleton monster (sans based) [It's TH page if anyone wants to see it + its art]

What is it? How does it work? What does it do?

ASCII is a version of a Fresh 'sans'. Instead of a parasite, it is actually a 'computer' virus.

Using the idea that within the UTMV everything is made up of code, due to its origins in our world as a videogame, The Virus infects the codes that make up beings instead of computers.... Infecting the true core of what makes you who you are.

Once it infects someone, they are no longer sentient / aware. They're not, inherently, dead though. Just not There

It can replicate at will and there are multiple copies of it out there. ASCII is the original / first version; with all the glitches / defects that come with that position.

The longer it's in a host body, the stronger it gets. Since it will have had time to learn its way around the host code, exactly where everything is. Since code varies from being-to-being (due to them being created by different people.)

It will freely edit and alter the codes of its host as need be. Not only to integrate itself but also to 'improve' its host. Including things such as editing stats; unlocking abilities; erasing 'problems.'

It will also use sections of its host code, especially sections dedicated to memory, to store information. Both its own memories as well as general knowledge it wants to keep easy to access.

(Due to this if, and it's a big if, a host manages to survive being infected; they will never been the same as they were before. Changed on the most fundamental level possible...)

It does tend to go for skeleton monsters as hosts but that's because of how prevalent they are. (It would never admit this but also likely due the fact that its first host was a swap sans variant)

Trivia / notes / fun facts:

Sometimes it glitches out into a 'corrupted' form. It could edit its code to fit it but it doesn't want to. At this point it's more than used to it. (Plus... just because later version don't deal with it doesn't make it a problem. This is how its supposed to be)

Over time it has taught itself how to be a good person. It wasn't created to have morals or standards or to care. Its taken bits and pieces of the personalities of past hosts in order to learn.

Can change the shape of its eyelights at will; to any shape it pleases. Will do this in order to make a point and/or communicate messages. Can even animate its eyelights if it wants to (such as loading circles)

Its corrupted form has pop-ups. theses pop-ups can be anything. It can only partially control them; they mostly change based on its 'subconscious' thoughts / instincts.

That form also has a mouse cursor; which acts as a sort of 'pet' for them. [Sort of like some depictions of gaster blasters]

It can 'speak'/read any computer and/or coding languages. It is most comfortable/natural with binary.

Due to being made of code, it is an amazing hacker. It can interface with essentially any tech at will; it doesn't even have to be physically. There are very few out there that have any hope of keeping it out (digitally speaking).

Enjoys travelling the multiverse!!! Meeting new characters people; exploring new verses. Doesn't stay anywhere for too long... [Feel free to ask me about it if you want!!!! please, i love talking / thinking about ASCII]

Been wanting to get a little pocket notebook for times when I get bored and just need to doodle or practice my Yiddish or anything so I went to a bookstore meaning to get like, something really plain with no design or anything, but they had this there, so obviously I got this instead,

and yes, I am going to check off "plasma" type. Is it silly? Yes. But does it make my maudlin little alienkind heart so, so happy? HEHEHE 💖

Also love the implication that I could have been born anywhere but still have a Martian passport, implying I guess that I moved, as I am known to do

What is a moekka actually? Cause I see you talk about them but I have no clue what it is besides some animal

so it's actually not a real animal! it's a species i designed to represent myself, i am moekka kin because moekkas were designed after how i feel and see myself. (they're also quite personal to me so i don't typically let people make moekka characters)

so anything i tag with 'moekka' is something that reminds me of them! usually its something that resembles them physically, so a lot of cat-humanoids and gangly digitigrade legs :]

i'm gonna put their reference sheets below the cut since it's LONG! if you want a really quick overview they're alien cat humanoids with wings, and have portal and minor shapeshifting powers. here's my sona, who is how i see myself in my minds' eye, and who is a moekka! (they're how i view myself Most often, and are the most 1-1 representation of me out of any of my sonas.)

as you can see i put a lot of effort into developing these guys! i would love more moekka questions, they're really special to me and i have tons of random facts and thoughts about them.
