Lyra and Altair has been flying all night, and the sun was starting to rise. It was too risky to fly any longer and they descended into a dense forest. They could feel the magic flowing amongst the trees. They would be safe from humans.
The silvery white dragon landed besides a lake and Lyra slid off. Moving to lay her back against the opalescent dragon. A wing coming down to cover the fae woman.
“We’ll rest here until it’s safe to fly again. Alright?” A low growl is her answer and she giggles. Closing her eyes as the dragon settled down as well.

The dragon lowered her head. Her body relaxing slightly. It was hard to tell if she understood his tone or if she actually understood his words.
Slowly her nose moved closer to him. Her massive head close enough to touch. Mindful of her horns she tilted them away from the delicate human. Her amythist eye curious as she nudged him with her snout. Not hard enough to knock him back but testing.
Setting his case down, and showing empty hands newt crouched to make himself seem smaller and non-threatening “I’m not going to hurt either of you. I just saw you flying over and I was worried something was wrong. Dragons aren’t suppose to be this far from the reservations, if the government catches you I fear it may not turn out good” he spoke

I’m in a very odd mood. So like or comment if you’d like to interact with Lyra and Silver the wolf or Altair the dragon. That’s right. I’ve had a dragon on this blog all along but she’s been sleeping. Hehe.
Or feel free to send in or tag me in a starter to interact with Silver or Altair.

The forests outside of Detroit weren’t very big, but humans seemed to have lost interest in nature. The woods, untouched and overgrown. Only a small hiking path leading further into the green scenery.
However, a bit off the path there was a lake. Large and crystal blue. And besides it laid a dragon. The size of a house, wings as long as a bus when open, and opal like scales glistening in the early morning light.
Lyra laid against the dragon’s side. Resting as one of the wings covered her from view. The dragon curled around the woman like she was her treasure.

Our lives are built on our mistakes as much as our successes. ❞
The opalescent dragon looked over at Ella as she laid by the water. Amethyst eyes calm.
“You are wise for a hatchling. You sound as if you speak from experience.” She inquired.

“I supppse.” The dragon rumbled. The last time the young fae got bored she had tried a new tech magic combo and caused an explosion.
Rose eyed the gnomes and the cookies from her perch in the tree. But in the end the want for the treat won out. She climbed down and hesitantly took the cookie.
“Thank you?”
*Hunter emerges from a portal munching on a Twix bar* I will bet the dragon $20 that she can convince rose to NOT chase after (and possibly maim) the hoard of gnomes I paid to follow her around and call her snow white.
Said dragon lifts her head and looks at Hunter with a less than thrilled look on her face.
“What did you do?” Altair growled. Though she was uncertain she actually wanted to know. Gnomes? And something about Rose? The girl was going to kill someone.

Green eyes peer at him in surprise and curiosity. A soft startled squeak coming from her as she tried to hide again. The dragon seemed to be having none of that. Tucking her wing back to herself to prevent the woman from hiding.
“Altair?” She tilted her head and she looked between the dragon and the human. Said dragon simply growling low and lowering her head back towards Newt. The girl smiled.
“She likes you. That’s rare. Usually she snaps at everyone that comes close.” The tip of the dragon’s tail smacks her upside the head lightly, causing her to yelp and then giggle. The woman had lilt to her voice. An accent.
“You are not a normal human... are you? I can sense magic around you.” She didn’t move from her spot against the dragon. As curious as she was, there was fear in her eyes as she watched him. An uncertainty. It was almost humorous. The woman with a dragon was scared of him.

The dragon lifted her head and scented the air. She then turned her head towards the new person. Her wing covering the resting girl besides her and keeping her close. Protecting her from the possible threat. A low growl as amythist eyes glare at the man.
Smoke was puffed at him. Warm but not burning. No. This was a warning. The man didn’t seem like a threat. But if he attacked after the smoke, then the dragon would be ready to strike.
Newt had been near by studying a small heard of winged horses, one of the mares having just given birth to twin foals with newt’s assistance. He was happy to see the new mother and her daughters doing fine, studying them for a good while before the magizoologist decided it was time to take his leave. Walking the shadows of a dragon overhead, caught the man’s attention and he followed it- what was a dragon doing around here? had it gotten too far from the dragon reserve?
He hurried to investigate this, worried maybe the dragon was hurt? or had been chased out and was looking for a new home? However, coming into the clearing he saw there was a woman with the dragon- was the dragon her’s?

The woman giggled softly, tucking her hair behind her ear. It was then he could notice the slight point to her ears. Not drastic but certainly different.
“I am Lyra. And this is Altair. May I have... I mean. May I know your name?” She tilted her head and looked at him curiously.
The dragon, Altair, stood and stretched her magnificent wings. This causing the woman to stumble away from her with a laugh as the wings cast a shadow over them. Altair then moved to drink from the lake. Lyra smiled, watching the opalescent dragon.

Rose screams and tries to run away from the creatures. Altair looks on and sighs a puff of black smoke at Hunter.
“Why must you create trouble?” The dragon rumbled. Rose runs past them.
“You areshole!”

The dragon’s amythest eye opened, keying in on the new being. It’s body stiffened as she lifted her head to turn and look at him properly. A low growl rumbling in her throat and scaly lips drawing back to show sharp teeth.
But no movement. She didn’t lunge at him or snap. Simply the movement of her head lifting from the ground. This being didn’t smell human to her. Though it had human scent on him. He didn’t seem ready to attack, so she wouldn’t either.

A low rumble comes from her throat, enjoying the attention. If Altair had one flaw, it was she could be a vain dragon at times. His positive reaction and gentle touch had her preening. Not many humans stopped to appreciate her scales.
She shifted slightly and jostled her wing. The movement finally waking the tired being hiding from view.
“Altair, it’s still light.” The muffled voice comes from under the wing. The dragon retreats her head from the human to her charge, lifting the wing up a little.
“Hey! Too bright!” There’s a giggle and a mess of red hair pokes out from besides the dragon. The dragon for her part rumbles and nudges the woman with her nose.

Altair was not a tamed dragon. No, she simply was more accustomed to human like creatures. This human was puzzling to her. Not attacking, calm even when faced with her size and smoke. Offering a hand. A hand she could easily bite off if she wished. Yet... he seemed to want to risk it. Put his trust in her that she wouldn’t. Strange human.
The white scaled nose nuzzles his hand. Gently, inhaling before an almost serpentine tongue peaked out and licked him. Taking in what she could of this creature. She lowered her head even more. Her silvery horns shining as she allows him to touch.

Another tilt of the head. Amythist eyes watching curious as the human approached. So different from others that would yell and attack at the sight of her.
The dragon lowered her head, becoming more on level with that of the human. Smoke still escaping from her nostrils as she sniffed the air. Scenting the human. Not a threat. The smoke faded away as the dragon moved her head closer to him.
She didn’t want to move her body. The small form hidden under her wing was still resting. But she still wanted to figure out this being. This human that had more creature scents on him than human. So close now. Her nose could almost touch him.
