in my silly little lore that i've named ' demolition ' , there's a version where connor meets violet . this is after 1994 , in 2011 when the harmons move to the murder house .

there's many versions of my lore , but this is one of my faves since i genuinely think violet & connor would be the best of friends since they have so much in common . they would be bound by pure understanding of their own sorrow & experiences with a particular shared acquaintance .

will be adding a lil thing i wrote explaining their friendship & backstory after the cut . thanks for reading !

IT’S A SPECIAL DEATH YOU SAVED …

it’d been a few years since 1994 , & the residents of the house remained bound . connor had spent countless days sitting on grimy corners, listening to the wails that echoed through the walls still decorated with decaying floral wallpaper , trying to make sense of what his days now were .

tate was nowhere to be found , obviously . the last time connor gazed into his eyes , a bullet had pierced his chest , forever chaining him to that place .

thing is , she was different . went through the threshold with morbid curiosity that reminded him of easier times . times where he could wander around los angeles without a care in the world , & not bother about pleasing another person for an ounce of affection .

he revealed himself in hopes of friendship — in life , he’d never cared for it , but the records in the girl’s collection asked for conversation . her name was violet , & she had way too much morrissey in it for his taste . strangely , she’d never heard of trent reznor , & that was the first time he’d sat on her bed , the two spending hours sharing what she’d called ‘ earbuds ‘ .

it wasn’t long till the devil had laid eyes on her , preying on her curiosity & enthusiasm for the place that she’d made of her home impressively fast . connor could hear her parents arguing about the god forsaken house , growing uneasy as the other spirits made themselves known . but violet wanted to stay for another reason — & connor couldn’t fathom to sit & watch another soul suffer like his did .

his arrival had been far too late , finding the sight of violet’s debilitating body devastating . tate had dragged her from her room , still struggling to evacuate the remaining pills from her stomach . it was a painfully familiar sight , & connor had shrieked , begging tate to not touch her — to stay away from her as she began to fade . connor had felt her heart emanate its last beat as frail arms wrapped around her shoulders , eyes everywhere but on the boy that still remained in the tub , now alone .

tears fell down his cheeks as violet emanated a cry of her own , knowing her fate had been sealed .

as souls continue to go through the murder house , leaving behind bloody bodies & newspaper scandals , violet & connor find solace in each other , bound by heartbreak & sorrow .

GFSDGSDHJj making me Dig Deep on this fine saturday i see,, believe it or not i hadnt really thought much about it ((yuuji and megumi take up so much of my mental inventory that id never really taken a step back to look Objectively at their designs and how much i would like them were they Not my favourite characters)) ended up being surprised at my final answer, specifically yuuji's placement here??? also megumi unfortunately did Not make the cut ,,(ily megu but u Are just . a pointy black haired best friend char gomen.....)

Yuuji tbh it was a tough race fr him here bc i think his outfit loses him a couple points,, ((th red hood HARD carries but i would give the rest of his uniform some minor but Necessary tweaks gomen yuuji i am Altering your pants)) but he makes the cut bc his design overall is so iconic <3 /Great/ shonen protag look. specifically in the manga the way gege draws him i LOV th sharpness of his eyes i love how boyish and dynamic his design establishes him as being . also the pink hair was an S tier design choice thank u so much mappa kisses their design team

and. AND. i think mby. Snaps, wen he finds Kelek's seal, would recognize it as a thing that surface monsters use, and it would click in his head pretty quickly that Kelek is a surface monster. ('n he might even realize that the seal's hiding a tail, bc of where it is. :33)

bc. as someone who travels the multiverse a lot. he's probably seen and met some surface monsters.

'specially if they'r known to be a thing in Kelek's au ('t least if it's known by outcodes like his group)

he wouldn't say anything right away, but Kelek might notice him tense up in surprise for a sec, befor going back to being just as relaxed as before ('n then start teasing him abt th seal lmao)

he'd be surprised that Kelek's a surface mon, but he'd be exited abt it. surface monsters are rare. him 'n his group don't get to interact with them often, 'n this adds a whole new level of mystery to Kelek that excites him (mby a lil too much)

he ofc wouldn't be mad that he kept this a secret. he understands that it's a huge risk to show ppl his natural form. and he'd be very softly reassuring abt this :>

and ofc. he'd b vry happy to go out places with him in his natural form (well. any date he'd b happy abt ;3). as much as Kelek is comfortable with :3

I mentioned in the tags of another post that I was considering making Kelek’s creature version more of a surface monster which works perfectly tbh.

I envision the surface monsters of his au as monsters that for whatever reason didn’t get to the mountain. Their cultures and stuff changed as a response to the war and fear.

Since humans fought and sealed monsters out of fear for their Souls (simplified) - the surface monsters stopped communicating through encounters and direct interaction with the soul. After a few centuries the surface monsters don’t really know what an encounter is or how to pull their souls out. Their understanding of the soul is very rudimentary. (Like being able to feel their own, knowing that’s where their magic comes from, and that it affects reproduction)

Initially for safety, quite a few surface monsters developed magic for disguises which they then taught to others and developed into magic items to help. These are still mostly used for safety but sometimes mischief makers are about.

Comfys in particular almost never unmask after puberty. (They usually grow up rural since they’re quadrupedal until early puberty and so masking doesn’t work). This is due to their innate fear of humans seeing their true forms (and the spiraling possible consequences).

Since this sort of culture has developed for centuries it’s hard for some of the surface monsters to drop their masks and contact the underground monsters once freed. It doesn’t help that in Kelek’s au the post-pacifist surface has tense relations.

Kelek actually likes his human mask and finds some things easier in it (like maintaining his hairstyle lmao). He does like his natural form as well. He probably hasn’t considered the idea of being able to be in his natural form most of the time as opposed to the inverse.

Which of course a lot of this makes me think of him and Snaps lmao. Part of this is considering why he wouldn’t unmask for Snaps at first (take him a while to feel comfortable and safe to do it and then he just feels torn for keeping a secret).

And I think it’s cute to imagine Snaps slowly taking Kelek out places with him in his natural form. (It would have to be away from where Kelek lives though since he doesn’t want to be found out (it’s for his safety along with others in his local surface mon community).
