• Nimona doesn't have a specific label because she thinks they are sorta restrictive. Also she just doesn't need one lol, if somebody asked her about her gender she'd say "Nimona"

• There was something between Nimona and Gloreth but Nimona can't exactly say what for sure. Not exactly romantic but not strictly platonic. Homegirl had that toxic doomed kindergarten yuri going on😭

also I didn’t expect it when I started but this got long…

for Legend, I really like the idea of him drinking tea and still having an apple orchard. And also having honey bees! (These aren’t mine originally lol) Also I feel like post LU (this ofc may change depending on the ending) he fell into depression a little bit before digging himself out with Ravio and Zelda’s help… he cut his hair during this time. idk I just feel like that would happen. I like the idea of him having a good singing voice. (merperson stuff but also even beforehand. He definitely sang lovely duets with Marin once she taught him how) Also I feel like he’s one of those people that’s always cold! So he secretly likes to cuddle :)

with Wild, I feel like… he definitely doesn’t use recipes! This is based off how I am in his game and irl, as I just throw things together and never go back to see how I made things before, but also I feel like it just fits his personality! I think it would be hilarious if he named his horses at first after anything that had an impact on him so like, one horse is named Zelda and another is Stir Fry. Or smth XDDD Also based on my experiences in game (to an extent), I feel like he doesn’t actually care about legitimately looking fashionable… it’s more that he likes wearing things that looks crazy XD

on to Hyrule! Ok this isn’t as much a headcanon as a ship but I really ship him and Aurora; I feel like they’d be absolutely adorable together but he’s really private about it! I like to think Hyrule can sew? And I think he’d love to run around barefoot on fresh grass! And just, be in love with nature in general! And maybe he doesn’t have an eye for color; he can’t tell if colors clash or actually match. Also is it just me or does he feel like out of the entire chain he could easily be a Studio Ghibli protagonist? Just me? Idk lol

Time! I like the idea of Time and Malon having a running joke that the other is color blind, and the chain eventually picks it up! And then Time keeps mistaking one color for another (on purpose or not? We’ll never know), and every time the others go wild XD (this may or may not be based on a joke my parents have irl hehe). When Time first met Malon he was very very lactose intolerant. And drank it anyway, of course! also I feel like Time really likes flowers? Idk why! And finally, if Time was in the modern world he’d be the guy who’d be eating food months to years past the expiration date…

Four, my beloved! Umm this is kinda a design idea more than anything but I like the idea of him growing his hair out and wearing it in a ponytail post LU! Also this is just something canon I don’t see talked abt a lot but I love he and Twi’s relationship sm! the man, the myth, the legend, WIND, is next! This man has Opinions. I feel like he’s the kind of person so have opinions on things he’s only heard of two seconds before, like automatically deciding he will like a food or deciding the other way round. (And yeahhhh I’m basing him on my brother lol) I’m definitely not the one to come up with this but Wind is probably the one with the best (and most opinionated) fashion sense (most of the others are just hopeless in varying degrees so it isn’t hard)! Maybe older him bonded with young Wars in the War of Eras over this (bc I love the idea of older wind being there), Idk XD! Also he definitely braids Aryll’s hair and is generally very responsible (I mean he’s a big brother he’s gotta be XD); he starts off almost treating LU as a bit of a vacation! Nothing will go wrong, his family is safe, and he gets new friends :D

Warriors, the wonderful man, is next! I feel like he’s very nostalgic and a little sappy. Like, just in general. He likes to look back on his happy memories! Also (once again not my idea) but I like the idea of Warriors growing up either orphaned or really poor, and living in the less palatable portion of Castle Town. (Therefore he played pickup soccer as a kid; he just feels like he would lol) I definitely ship him and his Zelda (ok tbh I ship ALL the Links with their Zeldas lol). I feel like at the point of LU they’ve talked abt it but Warriors isn’t ready (thanks to Cia and maybe just all the barriers in his mind about being inferior to her or smth) Also, give this man the craziest accent you can find and I am here for it; whoever first came up with that is a genius. Ok yeah you can probably tell I love Warriors angst

XD Sky!!! My bestieeee!! If Sky was in modern times he’d be one of those people who gets sleepy when they drink coffee, fs! He is definitely the artistic one, and maybe during LU he discovers a bunch of mediums besides woodworking that he loves (and maybe he makes a bunch of art for Sun, who knows!) This next one is based off @margindoodles2407’s Forger from her loz AU but the idea that his parents died in a house fire and he lived with Gaepora and Zelda until he was older is so cool to me! And bc of this I feel like he’d really hate being around fire (to the point of panic attacks? Maybe, maybe not). Finally, hopeless bird lover Sky is a beautiful thing. As a bird watcher myself, I cannot blame him.

Last but not least is Twilight!! This guy totally holds conversations with animals all the time and it freaks people out (they can never tell if he actually understands them)! Twi definitely has a lot of respect for kids too and talks to them like they’re adults (by using the same vocabulary and tone, not by talking about things that aren’t good for kids to hear XD) and I feel like he would write painfully cheesy love poems? Twi definitely can’t cook but I feel l Ike he also cares the most about food? Idk? ALSO LET THIS MAN QUILT. IDK I THINK HE’D BE TERRIBLE AT IT BUT STILL TRY AND IT WOULD BE FUNNY

Hmmm, how about an Hiei x S/O or his crush headcannons? Which the S/O who's a goober, like a sweet and adorable and a very romantic one (overdramatic one...) And like thinking that the S/O is like tall (like I guess 5'10 or smth idk 😅) and he's a smol angry demon man like he doesn't know why he dated/developed feelings for a human that's like this but secretly loves them (I just love the opposite attract and tall and small dynamics xD)

oooooh i love this idea!! i decided to do both (starts off as a crush then he becomes a lover) and ngl i kind of took the enemies to lovers route with this one since i feel like it fits his character more. i also decided to go with the "goofy but very strong character" trope with the s/o because honestly? why not lol.

i surprisingly had a lot of fun writing this and it got longer than expected, he's a little ooc in some parts but eh it's not that big of a deal tbh.

tw: injuries, reader almost dies at one point, brief mention of reader having trauma,

lets be real, hiei found you annoying at first, not as annoying as kuwabara but damn near close.

when you were going to fight he didn't have much hope in you, you would probably die in under a second knowing your nature, but as soon as you put in work it almost made his jaw drop.

how he developed feelings for you was at that very moment, he doesn't realize it until much later.

the way his stomach gets this thing called "butterflies" when he's near you, he doesn't move away or threaten you when you get near or touch him (he did at first threatening to rip your arm off) but then he can't help but grow hot... uncomfortably hot.

he's thinking you put him under some type of spell, why does he feel this way? especially over a human? sure, you show courage, sure, you fight well, but guaranteed that there are others who do as well...

but then he comes to the realization, he's never met a demon that has ever made him feel this way.

and a certain red head can see right through it.

kurama eventually asks hiei if something is wrong, but hiei states that he's fine, it takes a bit of time to convince the fire demon to come clean, that something is wrong with him, whilst he was ranting, kurama was listening.. and then he came to the realization.. hiei had a crush on you.

when kurama tells him, he denies it, saying that you were just some annoying human, and that he doesn't have crushes or has the time for a relationship, but kurama knows all of that is a lie, he likes you, and him denying everything just makes things worse.

it was made very clear that this information was kept between the two demons, and eventually, hiei would have to tell you.

some time passes by and you manage to get into a scuffle, you end up injured and hiei comes to the rescue, but tells you not to think of it too deeply.

you don't say anything, but hiei has been acting strange, it's gotten to the point where yusuke and kazuma notice, but don't say a word, it's even weirder when it's just the two of you, he's a lot more.. quiet, and noticeably kinder to you, he doesn't insult you as much anymore, other than that, things remain the same.

while your tidying up your wounds you still managed to keep a smile on your face and a sense of humor, going as far as to make fun of your loss.

hiei would've called you an idiot and told you to shut up, but he can't bring himself to do it somehow, the way you talk, your laugh, your smile, the butterflies get stronger and the blush on his cheeks start to grow darker.

damn... what's with this woman?? why is she so... so....?

it would take so much of his ego and pride to just man up and admit that he likes you, he's not good with words unless it's telling people off (he gets better with this, i promise).

eventually, you got into another fight, and your opponent was tough, so tough in fact you almost die fighting, and you ended up passing out for hours upon hours, the team thought you would die.

hiei put on his cold front as usual, but on the inside he's panicking, he can't lose you, not right now at least.

when it's just him in the infirmary, he looks down at your unconscious body feeling the urge to shed a tear, your happiness is... gone, staring down at nothing but a blank face.

he hoped that you didn't die, he made sure that when you wake up, he'll tell you that he likes you... though it's easier said than done, it'll still take a lot out of him.

eventually he gets in a vulnerable state, kurama yet again see's him, noticing that he's shaking, sitting in the grass at the edge of a cliff, staring into the sunset.

they talk for a while, kurama eventually convinces him that if he can't just flat out tell her, he could just write her a note, and even better, give her a gift.

but what would she even like?

he heard in passing with your talk with his sister, yukina, that you really liked cupcakes (im sorry if you don't like cupcakes just try to imagine it's like some other desert), so, he gets some cupcakes.. from somewhere... somehow... and writes you a letter about how he wants you to be his mate.

and when you say yes.. you're locked in.. forever.

eventually you do wake up, find the cupcake next to the table and eat it, noticing the note and reading over it, it comes to you almost as a shock... hiei? likes you? no way, this has to be some type of elaborate prank.

you do end up seeing hiei, who can't even look at your face, i mean you have to admit.. he's cute, a cute little short guy, while you're taller than him by some inches, he doesn't seem to mind this, he knows he's stronger than you, height doesn't mean jack shit to him.

and so, you accept his request, and now, the two of you are officially dating! or at least that's what you think and he wants.

at first, nothing changes, he's still a tad bit nervous around you, he ordered that there should be no pda in front of the team, he's not ready to tell everyone yet.

when you two are alone, he still had barriers up, not feeling the most comfortable with you yet, the two of you talk and get to know each other, realizing that the reason you were the way you were was because of your trauma, so you masked it with humor.

it takes a while for the two of you to be more intimate (not sexual), holding hangs, hugging, kissing, of course when there wasn't anyone around.

the only person he trusts in regards of knowing about the relationship is kurama and mukuro, no one else.

it takes him a bit to admit that he definitely loves his s/o, and you might've been one of the best things that has happened to him.

so i sort of half accidentally did the end of totk on monday, i had over 130 hours and slightly over 50% of the game done and did the second to last fight with 3 hearts left and no way to heal but fairies after i gave up multiple times thinking the game might be trying to force me to fight a certain way xD

so im still playing it and am aiming for the 100% but i dont think theres gonna be much more to discover story wise the game is really fun and has a lot of detail and love put into it that you can really see, the music is fantastic as well, some of the characters get more love which is great but the story is … well disappointing but not surprising, especially in its treatment of ganondorf, who still feels incredibly flat as a character, which was to be expected but also … you cant fault people (including me) for faintly hoping theyd do something more interesting tho i will say the end fight is really well done and i cant think of a way to top that in terms of epicness xD

anyway, some unfiltered thoughts and opinions in no particular order (keep in mind i know its viddy game logic uwu but still some things can really destroy the immersion; and also i like to think too hard about the stuff i care about so take this with a grain of salt, i never expected the story to be world changing but i want to remind you that i am criticizing it bc i love this franchise)

--what the hell happened to all the sheikah tech?? botws story gets mentioned a few times but never is it mentioned what happened to all the tons of tech lying around everywhere? if they dismantled the towers for purah to build her new ones around i guess thats fine, but all the srhines? the titans ??? THE SHRINE OF LIFE??? its all gone, esepcially the shrine of life irks me bc the cave is still there and its still called by its bame but its nothing but a cave in a vague shape of how the buidling was it absolutely drives me crazy bc its so dumb?? even if it all stopped working for some reason why would you dismantled it all and even then where did the material go?? why would you dismanlted an neitre building like that anyway?? if you want to have a cave there just have it be half collapsed, if all sheikah tech has gotten useless just leave it there but overgrown?? and why is all of purahs tech still working then? zelda doesnt seem to care about it anymore either even tho shes been so obsessed with it for so long? the titans how would you even MOVE them?? you CANNOT tell me that all this tech that survived tens of thousands of years just went poof within a few years; and sometimes it even feels .. insulting? like you know how much robelo cared for cherry and now shes tiny and just serves as a way to buy fotos for your collection? the fact that the shrine of life is fully gone but the cave is vaguely shaped like its interior and where the bed used to be is a healing pool of water too? like idk if im just insane but it feels like 'haha lol remember what used to be here? get it? the water heals you like the bed in the shrine of life and lol there was the stairs HAHA remember? its gone now for no reason.lmao.' to be clear i like having some mysteries and all but that is just …. so weird? when i discovered the shrine of life i was so taken aback i didnt know what to do, it really broke my immersion, by alot even, it just makes it feel even more like all sheikah tech was replaced by much cooler (tm) sonau tech

--what happend to the sonau people? we only know that rauru and mineru are the last two remaining ones back then but … what made them die out like that? this is by far not as important to me as the issue with the sheikah tech but still feels like a point that could have been mentioned

--as much as i like the open world and how free you are to do things your own way but, regardign the dragon tears i think they should have been locked more behind story progression, i got all of them rather early on and it made it a lil frustrating to play through the other story parts bc you know the truth but you cant tell anyone and everyone around you is acting like a dumbass running after fake zelda while the real one is floating around above you, and i know thats partly my fault for getting them all so early but it still felt like some could have been more well hidden or locked or something since theres no hint to when it would fit to do which one; i expecpted impa to travel to each one but it seemed like she appeared on only a few here and there- additionally i fully expected her to be more important, that she would have an actual involment trying to help zelda undragonfy but that turned out to be very wrong lmao

--why are the enemies in the underground mining sonanium? ganondorf didnt seem itnerested at all in any of their tech, only in the mystery stones (only one too, he didnt seem to want any more of them either) they dont use it for anything? at least the ones on the surface collected stuff they could eat or use for fighting?

--did mineru really build herself a robot body just to fight ganondorf for a bit and then leave? as the last of the sonau, even tho long dead too, why wouldnt she tell their history and knowledge or something and instead if just helping a lil in the fight and then go poof (i half expected purah to be a surprise sage since the spirit one would have fit her i think)

--the zelda being the white dragon plot point lost alot of weight to me when it was just .. resolved like that in the end, i know she spent thousands of years like that and all but it seemed like a much heavier decision that later on felt a little less flat after fidning mineru even tho i felt like i didnt care at all at first bc of the way i found out ,and i half expected there to be an extra mission to try and find her soul again since that apparently gets lost when you do the whole dragon thing, but in the end that wasnt a problem at all, two ghosts and link (somehow naked again) blasting her with some magic(tm) and boom shes back and well and fine woohoo it was a non problem after all i didnt expect her to stay dragon since that would mean the end of the legend of zelda basically, but still it took away alot of the weight of her decision to me? like i get undragonfying her before the end would be difficult since you can get material off of her but still i hoped for something other than boom it resolved itself and i thoguht and worried about it for nothing honestly a post game or even another title where the main focus wouldnt be desstroying yet anyother one note evilest guy of them all and isntead the goal is to bring zeldas soul back and undragon her or something would have been a cool idea tbh tho i know its unrealistic

--did ganondorf think turning himself into a dragon would end the world somehow? did he mean the lil evil goo clouds he spit at you in the last fight to end the world? and how come that he was vunerable to fight? none of the other dragons could be hurt and for an 'immortal' dragon he sure went down fast also how did the stone get back on his forehead? you need to eat it to dragonfy yourself and zelda doesnt have her stone out either (i know viddy games logic but still) (on another note, gan shoving half his arm in his own mouth felt really cursed to watch)

--into WHAT exactly wanted gan to reshape the world into?? only destroying it is such a non reason if you want to rule it? theres nothing left to rule if you kill everything in it?? he just gonna play cards with some bokblins or what -i really wanted to fight ganondorf on the surface, not in his lil miasma incubation cave again :(

--so …. why he evil? are we really doing the and WHOOP suddendnly theres the eviliest guy of the world and he hates your guts for some reason thing again? no tension with the gerudo that seemed to follow him in the lil cutscene we see and the ones that went on raurus side? no actual origin? does he have ANYONE to talk to normally or did he just surround himself by monsters all the time or abadon everyone that once followed him once he got his power up?? you can make any design or fight as good as it can possibly be but in the end its still gonna feel hollow if the character has no character besides evil even the fake zelda wasnt actually him and just a lil puppet made of miasma so even him fucking with people is a little less interesting when he was actually just marinading in his lil goop cave, and the lil hand wink he gives you at phase two can only do so much lmao

--ganondorf is cool and all, but tbh he feels more like the evil miasma goop guy than anything else --why are the old sonau ruins in hyrule so different from the rest? like we know now that they arent actually a civilization from the sky alone but were even in the underground too, and all of their ruins have that blocky white style to it, the supposedly sonau ruins in phirone for example, albeit they share the dragon theme the style on the outside is very much different? and the ancient ruins from the other races dont match it either --are the sheikah descendants of the mixing of sonau and hylians? the white hair and third eye theme would fit to the only alive sonaus we see having white hair (fur?), the literal third eye and their affinity to techonology similar to the sheikah, and zelda having both light and time powers would make sense if its yet another descendant thing, but that would mean zelda was at least part sheikah .. (ngl white haired zelda might look pretty neat actually) but also … it didnt seem like sonia and rauru have been together all that long and no mention or even hint to them having children … which given that both of them die would be an important thing to mention no?

--putting in all the amiibo stuff is cool and annoying at the same time, i spent 5 hours fighting my way throguh the underground to follow treasure maps and found 3 nigh identcal link hats from past games in a row, then two other parts of similar, then two aiimbo weapons and then jsut yesterday another one from a bigger quest that i expected more of; getting the armor sets of past games is cool if you want them but if i did i would have just gotten the amiibos back in botw, my inevntory already feels super bloated with all the new and old armor sets and now the amiibo stuff as well even tho i have like .. half of it all atm (and dont go and argue 'oh so complaining about more content for free???' yes. yes i am.)

--the story feels, espeically once you see the last cutscene, very …. uncomfortable to me if dare to think about it more than just taking everythign as its said to you, like … the oh so perfect descednants of the gods(what) marry a normal hylian lady and sourround themselves with perfetly obedient faceless servants of the other races so the perfect and good kingdom tm is born and oh suddendly theres an evil brown man (makign him grey doesnt change the implications, if anything, it makes it worse bc they wont even stand for it and instead are trying to hide it behind uuuuh no no its fine hes blue actally kinda way) from the desert that attacks the perfect good kingdom and king, then he swears alliance to them only to betray and murder da queen right away to get his hands on a super power the perfect and good king held and would have never never used it in a bad way nono and now they need to defend it by all means and at the end woohoo zelda has now again the perfect kingdom with no opposition except the yiga who are (as much as i love them) mostly played for laughs or .. well, evil(tm) as epic and cool the dragon fight was, zelda being the slim tiny white/gold/blue dragon and ganondorf being the evil spiky big black and red dragon and them literally being called white/black dragon feels like wow they arent even trying to hide the black and white storytelling huh (i know its a design trope to the bad be black(color) and the good anything else and spiky vs round and soft blah blah but that doesnt make it any better .. maybe even worse? idk)

the way nintendy was keeping stuff a secret and hinting around so much made me feel like it would finally be a little more nuanced and then it turned out to be even flatter than before and all that secrecy(?) was only to keep dragon zelda plotpoint a secret, something that was resolved no problem in the end anyway (i didnt need zelda to stay dragon but .. it all just lost so much weight the way it was done at the end)

so in summary, im not eloquent enough to properly analyse all the problematic/questionable stuff and put it into the right words, but these are my random thoughts just spilled out, theres gonna be things i missed, forgot, or gonna think about later, maybe ill add it maybe not

again take it with a grain of salt, the game is still one of the most fun games i have ever played, my problems with it lie majorly in the story, its still very much worth playing!

So Healing Hands(that’s the name of the healing magic) is…not exactly explained very well in the the 2012 tv show. It only shows up in one episode, “The Deadly Venom” (ep18 s3) and it’s power varies a lot in intensity.

The first time it’s seen, Splinter uses it on his broken leg, although it would seem all it does is numb the pain. He teaches Healing Hands to Leo and that’s the one he uses throughout the episode. However there are two known mantras. “Healing Hands” and “The Venom Mantra” Leo only learns Healing Hands until the last 5 minutes of the episode where he has to help Splinter heal Casey and his brothers who got hit with Karai’s venom.

So it’s never explained why exactly when Splinter uses Healing Hands, it barely does anything, whereas when Leo uses it, it’s able to counter an extremely toxic venom and heal snake bite wounds in seconds. Now the obvious reason is because plot, but that’s not very helpful for making a concrete canon logic. So I decided it was linked to how much energy you give it! Splinter didn’t want to feel exhausted after cause he wanted to keep sparingly with his son, so he gave it just enough to make it stop hurting, Leo was fine giving up every last bit of energy, cause I mean if it didn’t work he, his brother and Casey were gonna die, so he gave it everything.

In my comic I show it exactly that way. I imagine it works by condensing energy into the palms of your hands and directing it onto wounds to heal them. I never really thought to connect it to ninpo, but one thing I have had in mind with the Rise universe is that magic is easier to access and wield; The laws of the universe aren’t fighting against you so it’s much easier to use magic there. Though I guess you could throw a wrench in that and say that “well when Leo used healing hands on Mikey, they were in the 2012 universe.” Yes that is true, but it also took everything he had to heal him and almost immediately passed out afterwards. I suppose you could also say that learning to use his ninpo has taught him how to use magic easier, essentially making Healing hands more efficient/effective.

But in the end I really don’t know. TMNT 2012, while it has it’s shining moments, it’s also riddled with plot holes, canon inconsistencies and random details that are only relevant for one episode. Again, idk I’m just trying to make sense of this stuff here lol XD

Everyone stop the presses, peak just dropped!!! You all know what that means, I get to freak out over DROS’ awesomeness for a few hundred words! Here are my first impressions, as always don’t expect anything too cohesive or deep insight ‘cuz these are just initial reactions :)

[Aidan FTE 1: Start] Yo, FTE already??? And Aidan’s a really cool choice, I’m really curious where this is going to go, and how it’s gonna play out with DROS’ format. I was actually expecting accirax to pick Vanessa or Grace given they’re accirax’s guesses of first deaths, but maybe she just doesn’t take that into account when picking FTEs (makes sense). Still, I like this choice :)

“Aidan: Okay…? Do whatever you want, I don’t care. 

I look at him, eyebrows raised.

Ellis: Really? Anything I want? ‘Cause, I’ll have you know, I’ve been known to get up to some pretty wild stuff when left up to my own devices.” Aidan you had to have known what Ellis was gonna say to that xD

“Aidan: Aren’t you worried about the whole killing game thing?

I shrug. Do I really want to let Aidan know that I plan on surviving to the end with the power of luck? Or has he figured that out already, and simply decided to submit to his fate?

Ellis: I’ll believe it when I see it.” I mentioned in the Bonus Scenes first impressions that I love how every character seems to always be playing mind games, and that hasn’t stopped lmao.

“Aidan: I know other people care, and I can respect that. If they care enough about something to fight for it– even if that thing is as simple as their life– I wouldn’t get in the way of that.

Ellis: You think lives are simple…?

Aidan: Caring about your life is. Isn’t that, like, basic human instinct or whatever?” What… is wrong with him? lol. Pretty interesting mindset, I can’t exactly clock if he doesn’t care about his own life or if there’s a more “complex” thing he’s fighting for. Also, shoutout the cool contrast between Aidan seeing the goal of fighting for life as something simple and not something he really cares about, opposed to Vivi’s whole Deal about trying to conquer death.

“Aidan: I really don’t care what happens with any of this. So, if other people do, good for them. For now, what I know is that I’m here. That’s all.”

“[...] Either we’ll get out of here, or we won’t. In the meantime… it doesn’t really matter.” Okay, so definitely leaning on the “doesn’t really care about his life” angle, Aidan continues to be a really intriguing guy. This seems to be the end of the first FTE, which makes sense given there’s theoretically five for each character, and he’s leaving us with more questions than answers, which is always fun in a character :D

“If he dies, then 1) I don’t die (as a victim, at least) and 2) it means I’m one step closer to busting this joint.” I once again feel compelled to note I love Ellis a lot lmao.

“Ellis: Uh… Hang on, aren’t we not allowed to leave? Like, isn’t that literally rule number one?

Grace: We haven’t seen much proof of their ability to enforce it. It’s still possible they can’t enforce regulations beyond their boundaries, and they hope to inspire us with so much fear that we won’t even attempt to do so.” Grace is smart, I like them. Also, mm allegations are probably already dispelled with this alone, so I already have a (probably) wrong guess in the Prediction Game. I’m so good at this xD

He begins to read it decently competently. The poem is good, but there’s nothing to get too excited about with his performance.” Yep, meeting expectations. Though uh, don’t mind me I gotta, uh, firefox a thing-

“The Road Not Taken” is an interesting poem to have Robert read. It describes a person standing before two paths which appear exactly equal, describing how they can only take one and doubting they’ll be able to take the other another day. The poem ends with the speaker revealing that, “ages” later, they’ll “tell with a sigh” that they took the road less traveled, and that it made all the difference (whether that’s good or bad is left up to interpretation).

The irony here being that, in the moment, both roads were actually observably equal, meaning the hindsight is actually deeply flawed. It expresses the common habit of humans to assign responsibility in themselves for choices that did not truly exist, as “way leads to way” per the poem. Both roads were interchangeable, especially as there were other decisions down the line which could have changed the course of the speaker’s life, but regardless they choose to blame it all on the illusory idea that they went against the majority, which they didn’t. Whether that’s to brag about a good decision or blame themselves for a bad one, the flaws in their hindsight remain the same.

Applying this to Robert is tricky, given how little we know about the characters, but there’s certainly a few connections which can be drawn. Although it’s hard to see how the hindsight angle would work for now, we can certainly try to find some correlation between Robert’s talent and the concept of “the road less traveled by.” There’s certainly a few ways we can take it, such as “Robert is scared that he’ll regret going against the majority in any decision he makes”, or a more philosophical message on the nature of normalcy. Both roads are equally traveled because it is not the decisions taken, but rather the act of choosing one which is “normal.” Some kind of take that everyone is unique, because even the act of always choosing the “majority option” is a statistically improbable path of action over the course of an entire lifetime.

Or, and what I find most likely at present, perhaps for this fangan we’re meant to take the sigh at the end as wistful, and Robert’s choice to recite this poem reveals a desire to stray from the norm, to take the road less traveled, in which his talent serves the same ironic purpose as the equality of the roads. He may wish to escape it, but his talent always guarantees that the roads he takes are the ones most traveled, and he’ll have to either make peace with that or die trying in the killing game. Though as always, very early to tell which, if any, of these interpretations are correct. Still a very interesting thing to ponder on.

I really loved the talent show, it was really fun and cute and it’ll be awesome to think back on it when things inevitably get worse and we wonder where it all went wrong! Lots of interesting insight into a lot of very cool characters, too, so much fun stuff! It’s great to see so many engaging dynamics forming already, I can’t wait to see more! ahhhh i finished it last saturday night (11/9) (this will post from the q so after other q'd things)! it was really enjoyable tbh, i really liked it. it was good (if we don't get another da game, i am fairly satisfied) not perfect but few things are. def stick with it if you're not sure, there's a LOT at the end

spoilers for the end of veilguard- initial notes after the cut, not particularly organized

not me figuring out the varric reveal like 5 minutes before it was actually revealed tho XD tbh i was expecting him to die from the trailers and then he didn't and i was like "oh perhaps they're doing something else with him?" so they got me with the bait and switch and i was properly horrified. good job, you got me bioware. (as an aside, i still don't think varric was a strong enough choice as solas' friend for the intro section, like you never get the impression they are friends in dai at all. varric was stronger friends with anders than he was with solas, despite weird dai retcon about it. I wish they'd centered the narrative around someone else there- cole would have been a good choice? or cole and varric even since that's the most interesting interaction varric has with solas in dai) i'll def have to watch the cutscenes with him in subsequent pts. I kinda wish they'd done a follow up with him somewhere, maybe like the endings in that one fade book you find in trespasser (like at that fade bar with alistair/the warden/hawke/etc, would have been nice). got some solavellan conclusions, more than i expected and it was pretty good all things considered (i would have loved more, but also this was much more than we've gotten from other cameos of previous protagonists).

(is this the most awkward screenshot ever? possibly XD look she loves him so much, she'll even kiss his blight-y mouth and go live with him in the fade) i do wish they'd figured out a way to keep cole in (esp since spirit cole has that sad line about needing to help solas at the end of trespasser) somewhere. it was still pretty good honestly, i cried (this whole game made me cry at various points tho). I do think it could have resolved with them both living outside the fade and just his life being tied to it but i also get them wanting to literally tie up loose ends with this particular narrative.

it feels very mass effect 2ish (esp the end game section), i think most people will like it but i did find the end game section kinda stressful (where you have to pick the right person for things). Also for a dragon age game, usually by the end you have your team so having to break up the team so they live is not necessarily what i want in a DA game (i can appreciate it narratively while disliking it in practice lol) The format is also very mass effect-y in how it doles out companion stuff (esp romance stuff)- it's paced around the plot which is for the most part a good thing (but it also made it hard to tell where you were with things). I definitely like how they utilized the factions better than DAI or DAO tho- even tho only their rank mattered, having the characters in cut scenes and as npcs you can chat with at the end was really nice. I don't know if it's just lucanis' romance or all of them, but i kept thinking i'd missed something b/c of how long they make you wait for private time alone with your partner (the parts we get are really good, don't get me wrong, it just made me wait FOREVER to smooch him or get more than burning looks lol). 100% worth it tho. will romance many more times probably

(aside: getting to have a rook who's got a body like mine and a flat chest and have another character look at them desirously was just gender euphoria really. like okay actually their chest is nicer than mine -i have to do more pushups- but STILL. THANK YOU BIOWARE FOR INCLUDING NON BINARY PEOPLE SO MUCH IN THIS NARRATIVE and integrating us so deeply in all the bits, not just pronouns and basic shit) Like it wasn't even before the first "final" mission but before teh for realskies final mission ish (and i got more dialogue towards the end too). Real Return of the King BUT WAIT there's more vibes with the end (past the point of no return warning). I wish there was a little bit more romance partner time in act 2 even if it was just vibing? I did get a lot of good companion banter about it which i love (i live for banter and the banter in this was so good) i think my biggest note is i didn't feel the music helped it that much? idk i wish they'd just gone with one of their previous composers so it felt more dragon age-y (the zimmer score felt a little generic except when it did reprises of previous dragon age themes). Sometimes it felt too bombastic and sometimes there was not enough, idk, it just didn't have quite the same feel. i did like that they reused the bard music from DAI in the cities, made me smile hearing the sera song esp. i also wish the approval/tone system was a little more like dragon age 2 where you got unique dialogue choices based on which you chose more. Also sometimes the "sassy" answer wasn't that sassy or felt mean, there felt like a little bit of a disconnect between what i would have expected from the choice and what was said. The approval system was a bit weird too - like there were no approvals early on and then suddenly people reacted to things (but it didn't seem to impact their bonds). It felt like that could have used more tweaking or been more obvious anyway. It also felt like it required your character to code switch when talking to different companions since some of them responded to the different tones differently- which felt really weird and a little clunky. I def wished for more of the DA2 style where your companions just accept that you are a fun or kind or straightforward and you can rp that for the whole game.

i really liked the art direction (tho i did sort of miss the persistent splatter gore) and loved all the companions! the story was overall pretty good tho it suffered from a few pacing issues early on (you could sort of tell it had been reworked a little bit and bits were still a bit weird- but tbh all the games suffer from this a bit).

the combat was fun! i wish the targeting was a little better (as i've mentioned) and toward the end of the game, i got some stuttering when a lot of things were hitting rook at once (so it wouldn't register my dodges correctly). I played as rogue rook and it was super fun, glad i went with my actual fave class on my first pt (i always think i should be a mage and then want to be a rogue so im glad i can finally be like no no, i love knives and arrows!) The optional bosses were the most fun/challenging. Finished the game with the poison squad ofc but most of the companions felt reasonably balanced when I had to use certain parties (i'd say the warriors felt the weakest in their skills, have to see how player warrior feels, rogue rook was awesome). i loved that you could refund your skill tree at any point for no cost and also that it explained the bits of the tree (bursty, control, etc) so you could work out your own build for it. I wish the super special rune you get for beating the optional questline wasn't presented as your last ditch effort thing- i got confused by this dialogue and was a little afraid to use it at first (i thought i'd have to use it at a particular time in a fight, but nah it was just a really good rune with a normal cd) Obviously there's still more questions (the "secret" post credits scene) and i kinda wanted a post credit party scene? Maybe if we're lucky we'll get one like we did for bg3 i'm pretty satisfied, already started some more rooks and ready to make some fan art! [im also pretty sure my first pt had the most bugs since i started it on release date and didn't get the starter quest achievements until my 2nd rook, so we'll see how it plays with war rook and mage rook)

Doffy in my au where he chilled out and became a trophy wife (lol), takes care of a garden and mansion with celestial dragon by marriage vibes (even if celestial dragons or the world govt dont exist anymore xd). Thats about all he wanted, so now he is under house arrest in the capital being a gremlin and reconnecting with his family

He ends up having having children post prison with whoever he settled down with.

Law who keeps an eye on Doflamingo, he had paid someone to spy but Doffy and Shanks found it out and put an end to it. Then Luffy found out about it and just asked Shanks to send them letters about whats happening directly. Shanks gave him a sarcastic reaponse as he does, but Beck added in a PS that they will if Luffy's boyfriend stops spending so much money trying to spy on them xd

So thats how he hears that Doflamingo of all people is going to have children. Babies raised by that man is something Law is not going to be all that happy about

Ignoring the fact that when he was with Doflamingo there were times where he was a good parent even if his goals were to groom them into killing machines. Things were different then. The future kid he is having is just a kid, not a tool to use for power. Law is not going to be able to wrap his mind around that or trust it

So he tells Luffy "Im going to steal a baby"

He also wants to see Shanks' babeh, thats his sibling! Shame it's also Mingo's, that pisses Luffy off. Why Mingo of all people, Shanks serious about deling with the ex-warlord who he met through crossguild shenanigans is something Luffy doesn't get. What so special about that pink-bird?

So they go off to do some baby kidnapping, and its not as dramatic as Law expects it. Shanks knows this and is around while the baby is born,

Law is just dumbfounded, he never thought that Doflamingo would just let them have it.

Doffy is not happy about it but he knows Law isnt going to do anything to the baby, and so does Shanks. So they decide that yeah they could use the time off of their brats want to look after the baby do bad lol

Law is immediately smitten with the child, it has all the DQ genes, blonde hair, a soft face and Shank's eyes. He cant believe that bastard produced such a cutie, how dare he. Law getting a case of cuteness aggression lol, wants to squish those cheeks.

Luffy laughs at how Law melts, and they make this baby kidnapping thing a constant even though Law refuses to interact with Doffy, even when Shanks isnt around to pass the kid, Law is still around to come take it and Luffy is always the one giving it back before Beck has to come fetch them xd.

Its awfully domestic as then tension between Doffy and Law stays but gets put on the backburner when the baby is concerned

Shes a quiet person in town and doesn't speak much, so someone has to initiate a conversation with her first, but if she needs something, she would go out of her comfort zone. She has no known acquaintances despite moving in the town 4 years prior to the Bbros' arrival.

Siren occasionally sings in bars for some cash, Bendy wouldve met her when he got into one. He casually strikes a conversation with the gal and they immediately clicked.

Siren and Bendy's relationship would be—if Alice was not in the way—good. They would click instantly since they have so many similarities to each other.

And if Alice was there, prolly Bendy would be torn between Siren and Alice. I saw your “two wolves” art after the latest manga chapter so I have an idea, but I still gotta ask- HOW ARE YOU COPING AFTER SEEING DAZAI SHOT UP LIKE THAT??? Do you think he’s dead dead, or that there’ll be a timey wimey rewind thing where he’ll come back? I desperately need him alive, but I also don’t want them to lose memories of this, ya know? Do you think this is all part of some great SKK plan (operation goodbye?👀) or is Dazai really just losing for the first (second, if you count Oda 🙈) time in his life?

To be honest, the very first post I saw about the new chapter was Nawy’s analysis of the bullet impacts in the wall, which quickly convinced me that Dazai was not actually shot in the head, so I haven’t been worried at all 😅

But even if the being-able-to-talk-after-getting-shot-in-the-head thing was just an oversight on Asagiri’s part, I still wouldn’t be convinced that he’s gonna stay dead, because people just don’t tend to die in this manga. Really the only major character that’s died so far is Oda, and that was in a flashback that served a narrative purpose. There’s not much narrative weight to Dazai dying at this point in the story, and in this manner. It doesn’t feed into his character arc, and the rest of the agency isn’t even there to be affected by it. To have it happen so far away from the rest of the main cast would be…weird.

…Plus since Dazai is a) Asagiri’s blorbo and b) a big draw for a lot of fans, it would be very bold to kill him off lol — so be it due to timetravel, skk shenanigans, or a secret third thing, I genuinely think he’s going to be fine!

All that said, even if this is all part of some grand overarching scheme, I remain convinced that Dazai was not expecting Chuuya to shoot him in the shoulder first, because that seemed like genuine outrage on Dazai’s part XD

While, to each their own, here comes a rant about the fact that, I personally liked how they handled Neo's character up until now: 

I've seen people saying how they handled her was a disservice, but if I'm honest, I think it's not all that far-fetched, even with Cinder's betrayal.

LIKE, I can imagine the loss of Roman took a real toll on her mental health, that could've perfectly made her way more unstable than she already was, and to be fair, the last person she saw with Roman up the airship was Ruby (plus Neo in general is not exactly a good person).

Was her goal to also hurt Cinder in the way? Yes, possibly because she was the one getting Roman and her into the mess in the first place, but at the end of the day, that was more of a secondary thing, the very girl that was fighting Roman in person was Ruby, and for all she knows, even someone like Ruby could've fought to defend herself, because it was a die-or-kill situation. In one word, Neo was very desperate, because she lost the only person she was truly close to (solidified by Roman Holiday), and having worked with Cinder before was the only offer of familiarity she had (plus, Neo was very surprised when seeing the Maiden Powers, I don't think she would've been stupid enough to try and go against that), so getting an alliance with Cinder was a good choice atm.

Hell, I think if Neo hadn't blackmailed Cinder, she would've kept her despite only using her as an 'asset', but we know how Cinder can be if someone shows signs of possible betrayal (like when Rhodes went against her).

It's true Cinder was treating her like another pawn, what got Neo to grow even more desperate and impatient with what she wanted, but if we follow the train of thought of Neo's decreased mental health, it's obvious she has been falling into desperation, and that's a possibility that is very real.

Not even now after the end of V8 I see that her obsession with Ruby is far-fetched either, was she betrayed by Cinder? Yeah, but she blackmailed first, there was a risk in doing that, if anything, Neo has lost whatever she could've found with Cinder the same way Cinder herself lost what was possibly the last person that was willing to work alongside her, what only could push Neo to be even MORE desperate.

If she didn't get what she wanted by Cinder's side, of course this small and feisty psychopath would keep trying to kill Ruby, I'm sure in her mind, that would've at least been ENOUGH, that at the very least, she will work to get that ONE thing done.

She has lost everything, she's alone now, but she still can get that one thing that has fueled her until now.

She's not alright, she's breaking down, and I'm sure if she could, she would take Ruby down, and maybe try to get to Cinder later, if she survives.

In all honesty I don't even know what to expect of her from V9, but even as someone who loves Neo, I like that they didn't portray her as someone perfect that can keep her head cold at any moment, or that can somewhat keep her sanity up in this tremendously fucked up (and really personal) situation.

I like to see this vulnerability, of her falling down into a spiral of decreased mental instability, and I think I would've been disappointed if they would've kept treating her in the same smug-way they did in the first volumes, even if we all love her for that kind of attitude lol

Now, when it comes to a more personal opinion on what /I/ would like to expect, I obviously wouldn't like her to just outright die in the Ever After xD

It's hoping way too much they will bring up small things from Roman Holiday into V9 because the Ever After seems like a place where the characters are gonna face things, and I want Neo to face her own problems there, maybe manage to put some of the broken pieces together so she realizes that she needs to stop.

I don't exactly want her to be good tho, I just want her to value her life enough to know that maybe she should put her thirst of revenge onto someone else, not become completely masochistic LMAO

Takao notices them first and does a double take. His brain literally breaks trying to figure out how Shin-chan of all people could have what looked like nail marks on his back. Did he lose his lucky item and get attacked by a cat or something? He’s literally incapable of comprehending the idea that the marks came from sex

Since he’s in third year by this point, I can’t name any others, but the rest of the team notices after Takao squawks “Are those what I think they are?!”

Then it’s open season.

He’s not leaving that locker room without being thoroughly razed. They want details, lurid ones and the more he denies them, the more they want to know. Only Takao takes pity on him in the end, because he’s scarlet and scowling and there’s a scolding brewing – for you. Poor s/o.

Vorpal Swords

As can be expected, it’s Akashi that notices them first, though he doesn’t say anything right away. A small smirk and a raised eyebrow is about it.

Unfortunately for Midorima, the expression catches Kise’s attention and then all hell breaks loose. Well, for Midorima anyway.

Kise giggles like a little girl and exclaims at how good Midorimacchi must be in bed. Many teasing remarks about keeping you satisfied and how many scars he must have.

Kagami turns a mottled red-purple once they start talking about it, since he’s pure boy*. Also because the last thing he wants to think about is any of the GOM’s sex life. He is, however, familiar with teenaged boys (being one) and so he knows better than to complain about it. He just gets ready faster.

Aomine’s jealous lol Like, how the fuck is the weirdo getting some and he isn’t? Of course, he’s met you, so he knows how, but he’s cranky about it. Does get to teasing eventually though. So. Much. Leering. Probably demands details.

Murasakibara just sort of blinks. It’s not that he doesn’t know what’s going on, he just doesn’t see why it’s a big deal. What does it matter what Midochin does with you? Midorima actually appreciates Murasakibara in this moment, because he’s the only one that doesn’t say anything or do anything. He doesn’t even make a face.

Kuroko stares, the unnerving one that freaks everyone out. He’s a little troll though, and will probably ask if he marked you up too. He doesn’t actually want to know, and knows that Midorima would die before saying anything, but he likes poking the beasts every once in a while. Eventually says something like “I’m glad your relationship is going so well, Midorima-kun.”

Which is somehow worse than the jeers and teasing from Kise and Aomine. They all know the comment for what it was – teasing, maybe even mocking.

Takao has seen it before, so he just snickers, and Hyuga and Wakasa react basically the same as Kagami, only grumpier. Also, since they are outside of the fairly close knit group, they’re mostly just uncomfortable.

Akashi has the last word. He’s Akashi. He can’t help but get a tiny shot in, though he’s nice enough to end the teasing. “You exceed expectations, Midorima. ____ is clearly well taken care of.”

Midorima probably storms out of the room leaving laughter behind him.
