Ah...this line hits different now, knowing Eight is most likely talking about himself here. He is also a warrior, but more than that, he was a predator. That blood doesn't just wash off. Killing is just killing. He can't be like Torian, who has a code to justify it with. Yet another moment where Lana chooses her words poorly, but few understand what either of them are in their positions, least of all a Sith of her pragmatic caliber.

I like how Theron greeted him as if he were a stray cat returning home for dinner. "Welcome home." He gets he doesn't mean it, but it's endearing nonetheless.

I tried taking his veil off for the Gemini Deception chapter, and I've decided to keep it on for the rest of KOTFE/ET because it didn't feel right; I think I associate his default look with the class story too much and there's something about concealing his face from people he's not quite comfortable with and muting that side of him that would even make expressions. As the Hand, he's a lot quieter, and he no longer has a sanctuary where his real face is necessary...or so he says.

He needs Jadus' to be his eyes more than ever, with little else he can rely on.
