be busy. busy not checking messages. busy reading those books you never started or finished. busy having a good night of sleep. busy taking care of yourself and your skin. busy moving your body. busy helping your community. busy reflecting on your life and what you can improve. busy doing things aside from the capitalistic viewpoint of “productivity.” busy slowing down.

5 simple ways to start your wellness journey
1. Regulating your sleep schedule
-Having a normal sleep schedule can increase your energy levels. Finding ways to unwind before bed to avoid staying up all night can be hard. Don’t try to force yourself to bed at 8:00pm. Just gradually aim to go to bed 15 minutes earlier than the day before. Maybe it can be eating and showering earlier, staying off your phone at night ( try plugging it in across the room and play relaxing music or rain instead), and deep breathing as you fall asleep to regulate heart rate and anxiety. If you are working on waking up earlier , it starts with getting enough rest so you aren't exhausted waking up early.
2. Making sure to eat and hydrate
-If you aren't a breakfast person like myself you can start out the day with tea or a smoothie and then after can incorporate a healthy lunch and a filling dinner to avoid constant late night snacking. Not eating after 8 is ideal but let's be real; if you are just starting a healthy journey with food it is hard. Try to trade the ice cream and chips for yogurt, pretzels , nuts or fruit.
3. Get active for at least 30 minutes a day
-It can be going on walks, going to the gym to hop on the treadmill, pilates or yoga at home, even just vibing out and dancing to music to get active. If you are just starting out on a wellness journey please do not stress yourself with trying to follow extensive workout routines, or a super strenuous work out schedule right away. Listen to your body and START SLOW. Then add as you get more acclimated to your routine.
4. Take an hour a day to do something you enjoy
-Painting, reading, coloring, scrapbooking, video games , singing , dancing , crocheting, baking, watching a favorite movie etc! Taking time everyday to just let go of everything in your mind and just focus on something you genuinely enjoy can be surprisingly therapeutic. It can be an hour before bed or if you are working on waking up early it can give you something to look forward to in your morning routine.
5. Maintaining a tidy and healthy space
-There is no worse feeling than coming home after a long day at work or even just trying to unwind if you cannot stand the space you are in. If that means developing a chore schedule, creating a more private space within your home, or finding somewhere you do feel comfortable (coffee shop, park , pool etc) Prioritize having somewhere you can call a safe and happy space.

how to level up during the winter arc
winter arc ; oct to jan
1. build a strong routine - examples: wake up immediately and journal, don't scroll in the morning, meditate, drink 1 glass of water
2. create realistic goals - be more practical. when we set big goals and they don't happen we brush them off and say 'i'll just do it next week' hence delaying action
3. visualize - visualize how the highest person of yourself looks like
4. be consistent - wake up at the same time, be consistent, and don't scroll when you wake up, just take action everyday ! things don't just happen overnight
5. habit stacking - habit stacking follows a simple formula of "when i do [current habit], i will do [new habit]." for example: "when i drink my coffee in the morning, i will listen to an educational podcast."
6. use habit trackers/to-do lists
7. don't give up when your day isn't perfect - be flexible and understand that not everything has to be checked off, life happens
8. don't go through hardcore restrictions - since it's festival season, there are chances that you might not be able tick off some habits but that's okay !
9. listen to your body - do what you feel is best for you, don't beat yourself up if you aren't able to do something
let go of the feelings you've had in the past year, "i wish i did this" blah blah. don't beat yourself over it. just move forward. why keep waiting for tomorrow when you can start today? show up for yourself. why do i want to achieve this goal? it has to be for you.
just. start. now.

Little things to upgrade your morning routine
Always start your morning with a nice drink like a coffee, matcha, or tea.
Say good morning to your pets, you can also text your friends and maybe, make some plans!! <3
Set an alarm so you wake up on time and don't feel rushed, for me, it's usually enough to just sleep with my blinds open!! :)
Open your windows to let some fresh air in, also make sure to check if any of your plants need water!!
Make-up and music. I love doing my make-up while listening to one of my playlists, it's the perfect way to set the mood <3
Positive affirmations!! You can write them on sticky notes and put them on your mirror so you'll see them while getting ready!! :)
Prepare a cute outfit the night before, and make sure to check the weather so you can plan ahead!
Don't skip breakfast, If you are busy, you can meal prep some overnight oat or chia pudding the night before.
Try reading at least 10 pages in the morning, it will help you feel more refreshed.
Make sure to check your bag, so you don't forget things like your lip combo, keys, and headphones!! Nothing worse than sitting on the subway without headphones (me rn) :((
As always, please feel free to share your own suggestions and tips in the comments!! I hope you all have a beautiful Monday/Week <3
