man the thing about beauty standards and being ugly and being pretty and being insecure is that ultimately you do just kinda have to Decide that youre pretty. like ultimately thats how you become pretty, or hot, or sexy. you have to just Decide that you Are. you have to recognize that its made up, its arbitrary, its subjective, and that people might disagree with you about it, and as much as you are able, you need to completely and utterly disregard their opinions on your appearance, and decide that youre pretty now. and THEN.

I need someone to write this-

OKAY! Basically, I love the stupid playboy trope where your character of choice is a huge playboy (usually in college), kind of a hoe doing hoe things right. Along those lines, I love the angst where they end up going for reader cause either they’re gen interested but keep up a facade for looks or do it for a bet.

Anyways, in au, character of choice is a huge playboy. Going from person to person, hottest bitch there and knows it. They decided to set sights on the reader for one of the reasons above. Reader in this case can be like a nerd or not (for me pls be a sorta nerd- they don’t have to be quite but like they don’t usually run in the same friend group character of choice does, also for some ppl- NOT ALL NERDS ARE QUIET, they will be the loudest ppl esp with their friends). Sooo, character of choice is trying to get with the reader, being all sweet and flirty. Reader isn’t buying this bs and keeps turning them down- until the cliche where the character does something that makes the reader’s heart go dokie dokie.

They eventually start dating and eventually do the thing right- and after that character of choice kinda ghosts them. Like either they get distant, makes fun of them, and/or straight up ghost them. This spreads around and reader is crush- popular or not it’s a sucky situation (I hope no one in real life gets put in) and is stuck with that for the rest of their senior year in undergrad. Luckily, they’re not a whole outcast so some people stick up for them but character of choice just doesn’t give a fuck (or in some cases does but can’t show it cause they don’t have the balls to do so🤷). Anyways, the whole situation sticks but reader keeps pushing through, ignoring all the shit but keeps going (they also have friends cause I’m not that mean and i think I’d cry tbh).

Fast forward, they graduate their senior year of undergrad. Whatever field they’re in they plan on furthering the degree cause they’re a bad bitch like that. But a month after they graduate- the big cliche, they’re pregnant. For this troupe ofc the reader is afab but feel free to have them be gn! If you so please (as an afab genderfluid person I pray for this but ofc whatever makes you comfy).

They panic obviously unsure what to do cause- they just got in postgrad, their baby daddy is a dick, and they’re not fully ready for a kid. Time goes on and they decide to keep the child but not tell character of choice.

(Purely cause I plan to major in it, maybe they’re going into marine biology or something performing arts like Idk. Realistically you could have them go into some sort of science thing or something along with business- idk I guess I’d like to see other and different careers stuff for reader 😭)

But yea, it moves to present day which is like 6-7 years in the future. There are a couple of ways this pans out:

1. They end up getting their post grad degree or whatever and work at the same company character of choice is working. Obvi reader recognizes them but character of choice (for more angst) doesn’t or does but chooses to ignore it feeling a bit guilty. They work together and reader is VERY closed off to them, ofc still very pissed on what went down between the two. But, they still work together and character of choice kinda wants to get closer. Reader keeps putting up more walls out of fear for what happened in uni and having to reveal they have a kid with them. Yet, some crazy event happens (their parent can’t watch the kid, something happens at the kids school, whatever) and reader has to get their kid. It ends up character of choice spotting the kid and freezing cause they looks exactly like them OR have a good mix of both reader and their psychical traits (like maybe they got character of choice’s eyes or hair 🤷). Eventually, the two have to have a serious talk and reader finally admits the kid is theirs. ATP you can have it where they decide to let character choice in since the kid deserves their other parent if present (as someone raised with an absent dad and 2 shitty step dads I can see all different perspectives of the situation). And blah blah blah, the character of choice tries being a good parent and eventually does and even falls for the reader (even more maybe). But obvi reader doesn’t trust them so it’s up to how you want it to end.

2. Reader peruses a career in field of choice (if you do follow with the marine biology idea- I’m giving you so many kisses 💋). Either cause they’re in the same field, they have an event that causes an overlap, or purely they see each other again- character of choice and reader meet. Again, character of choice can either not remember them, does remember but pretends not to out of guilt or whatever, or does remember and tries to show remorse. Reader just bushes it off and tries to get away. If you want, character of choice does try to go after reader- maybe on the edge of stalking but mainly going to their work and trying to talk to them or what not. Up to you boo. It all leads up to the same situation where the character finds out about the kid and ends up being apart of their life.

This idea came to me cause deadass finished reading a couple fanfics and needed more angst (and fluff) material. Idk why I love playboy troupes (daddy issues, trauma, being seen as special, etc) but I like when they change for the better or at least try too. Also, I just love the idea of having a family (with or without a partner cause single parents are baddies).

If I have the time or energy, I’ll probs write this but if not- if someone does end up writing this PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE TAG ME. <3

Wait let me - I'm gonna nerd out here for a bit, and I don't know how right I am with this, but I think in more modern Japanese culture, hair cutting is a symbol of turning over a new leaf, leaving the past being or something like that. And even if I remember that wrong, it still shows that Luke wants to step out of the shadow of what he was meant to be a - a mere replica of Luke / Asch fon fabre - and his own person. Such a great way to show that!

As for the conversation. It might seem like Tear is being harsh here, and I did say "OUCH" a few times over the dialogue because it just - is a big ouchy - but she is doing the right thing here. She is facing Luke in a way he has to get used to a bit, because people won't instantly trust him anymore, they will question him, he has to stand firm and resolute and use his head from now on! She is pointing out very important things he sooner or later will have to work through and work with, and it is a good thing she is there to teach him this. Also, she does recognize that he is trying and taking important steps - look at the face she makes after the haircut - and she does not want him to suffer, that's why she is rather cold when she points out that he talks about dying too easily, because she does not want him to!

I mean I’ve seen stuff I don’t agree with about like every character, but I think that’s pretty universal in all fandoms.

And it’s not always like “oh I COMPLETELY disagree” (I mean sometimes yea but) it’s more like “hmm I kinda think I see this from a different angle” or “I think this take doesn’t take into this other element of that storyline/character” u know? Or like I’ll agree with one thing but then not another. I think the characters in Shameless are all quite morally grey so I always tend to see the good & bad parts to most characters or understand why a character does something but then I don’t necessarily take the explanation behind the action as an excuse for it etc. Like I don’t really love when people are non stop defending a character and refuse to recognize their faults/bad actions or non stop villainizing without looking at the nuances.

To be specific but also vague - I’ve seen a lot of takes on season 6 about Ian & Mickey that I’m not in full agreement with, that I might talk about some day when I have time (my last semester in grad school is kicking my ass I’ve written so many essays I feel like my brain is in a blender). And also the whole marriage cert storyline, but I acc do plan on writing a meta on that actually when I can acc sit down to do it. There are more with all characters but those are the ones I think about the most tbh.

Writing just doesn’t come naturally to me so it’s not something that I can just get out easily, I always have to sit & think and reword stuff for so long before I actually post things which often stops me from actually posting it and I’m always worried that there’s nuances that I won’t be able to get across well enough because I can’t articulate them well enough, u know? I applaud people who can put their thoughts into words so easily.

But anyway! Fandom is supposed to be something to enjoy so it’s ok if we disagree on certain things it’s not the end of the world. Like I said, sometimes I’ll dive down a meta rabbit hole and be ready to analyze till the cows come home. Other times I just wanna enjoy it for what it is and love my fav characters and read a fluffy fic and make edits.

So in light of the whole 'MatPat is no longer Theory Channel Host as of March 9th' thing, I just wanna ask...

What the fuck is y'all's problem with this man?

Like, there's such a tone of 'Yea! Finally!! The scourge is lifted!' to a lot of the posts/reblogs I've seen and it's only been like two hours since the video went up and like. The worst crimes this man ever committed as far as I can suss out in the over a decade I have known of his existence is that he misgendered Kris Deltarune a few times (which is not good, yes, but judging by how the man conducts himself, I'm gonna chalk that one up to being inattentive and suffering from the cisnormativity disease. still bad but not unforgivable) and he's like... cringe. Crime above all crimes, you dared to inconvenience me by making me cringe with your Sans is Ness theory. Also that one time Game Theory covered an ARG, concentrating popular attention to the channel instead of the collective problem solving of the people who've Been on the case. Those two videos tend to be the things people cite disliking him for.

And like, it's one thing if people just blandly said 'Nah, I can't get into Game Theory, it makes me cringe too much' or 'I just don't like that thing that happened with the ARG' and if MatPat said something particularly meme-able people clowned on him for a week or two before moving on. But like..... That tone I was talking about now that he's said 'I'm stepping down from hosting and doing other things with my life' is just So Pervasive and has been for years at this point.

This feels like the shit with Guy Fieri all over again, except Fieri is a network television dude, so people don't have quite the same flavor of Internet Brain Infection about him than they do about primarily online personalities. This feels like a longer brewing version of the Lin Manuel Miranda backlash whatever. Why the FUCK does everyone clown on Lin Manuel Miranda so much? Why do they use recognizing his lyrical style/impact on musical theater like an insult? This whole phenomenon is bigger than MatPat, I didn't give you the full picture at the top of the post. This is about me hating how people on the internet talk like they're in their bestie's living room fucking around and not like they're in a public space where there should be like. Basic fucking etiquette and boundaries.

Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii I just want you to know that my friend and I have been absolutely obsessed your fics and your Dew characterization. We keep reading them and then having literal book club level discussions about them and and honestly they have lead to our Dew brainrot getting out of control. Also I'm impressed the amount of range you have when writing. We read six of your fics independently before realizing all of them were by the same person. Like we would read one and then discuss and one of us would be like "well you should also read this other fic because the writing and characterization is so good" before being like "oh shit this is the same writer" so yea I just think you should know the massive effect you're having on our lives.

If it's not much, I'd like to know your thoughts on Dew's relationship with sex and how it pertains to his trauma. Although this fandom is primarily porn, Dew especially feels written to be super hypersexual compared to the other ghouls and it can manifest in interesting ways. Even if an author has not intended to write Dew as having an unhealthy relationship with sex, just the way that he is written in general by the entire fandom almost makes it seem like sex is the only thing he has to give (or at least that's what he thinks and that's how others act). So I've thinking lately about a Dew who becomes less enthusiastic about sex or even sex-repulsed and I'd just like to hear your insight on that.

So, I sometimes think that post-elemental-transition Dew is really not into sex for a while. His whole body is new and different. He doesn't recognize himself in the mirror. His body doesn't WORK the same way anymore. Even jacking off isn't fun--it feels wrong. Like it's someone else's dick even though he feels it. He's not as wet. He's burning hot all the time. It's just not right. He's not right. And the idea of other people touching him? seeing him like this? he hates it. He wants nothing to do with it. Can't even stomach the thought of having sex with anyone else anymore. It isn't the same, never will be again. I also, sometimes think that Water Dew was less into sex than fire Dew. Not repulsed, just not enthusiastic about it. It was fun. It was a way to connect with his packmates. It meant something. Fire Dew? he's good at it, he's confident. People want him. And if he keeps them happy they'll keep wanting him. They won't leave. He'll never be alone again. I really think there's a little bit of all of that in even my version of Dew. The ebb and flow of his sexuality. From sex is a fun thing I do sometimes but it isn't everything )(or even very much of anything) to I cannot stomach the idea of having sex. I will never do it again. Thinking about it makes me want to shatter into a thousand pieces to, using it as an unhealthy coping mechanism for other insecurities he doesn't know how to talk about. That he can lean into that ebb and flow of his own body and listen to it instead of constantly trying to fight against himself to be someone he thinks other people want. A hard-won version of himself that he, finally, actually likes.

Considering Minos's history with the Minotaur (though there is some debate on wither Judge of the underworld Minos is the same as Minotaur Minos or if they are different figures, possibly grandfather and grandson) would it be awkward for him to see fallen gabe with all his bull iconography?

Speaking of Minos, what would be the status of the prime souls in this au? did v1 defeat them? did v1 and gabe (pre or post fall) confront them together? or did Sisyphus break out of his panopticon and rescue Minos without v1's 'assistance'?

Would fallen gabe, with his unshackled power, be able to take both on in a fight?

YEA i've definitely thought about the minotaur motif and how it might make things somehow worse between gabriel and minos. i do actually have a small script written up of the two of them meeting, with slight reference made to gabriel's new form:

"Ah, see now how thy Glory is extinct...Strange I could just discern thee so afflict’d, with thy Celestial Crown turned baleful horns of Ram or perhaps loathsome, evil Bull."

to minos, it's sort of just the continuation of gabriel being the noxious element to him that he is, though of course minos isn't self-concerned enough to take it personally - it's just a cosmic coincidence. besides, he more considers it confirmation of gabriel's true nature, as a brutal beast defined by his violence and now laid bare instead of hidden behind an angelic facade. though he does find there is some irony in how heaven condemned him as such, considering his dire sins were only recognized once it affected his masters...not that different from humanity really.

i do like having the prime souls be an element in this au, both because the game has a limited cast to begin with so it's nice to include who i can but also because i think they provide a lot for a fallen gabriel to confront. minos is someone he severely, irreversibly wronged, and i do like the idea that they had some sort of history before gabriel carried out minos's execution. but outside of that, gabriel was a trusted presence in hell and that further damages their relationship outside of any personal betrayal - gabriel betrayed all the people of hell, and in particular the citizens of minos's layer. it's impossible for him to forgive, because gabriel either lied to them all or ignored his own feelings to carry out cruel orders; either way, it means he can't be trusted. yet minos's anger is entirely impotent, his people are dead and so is he. his ghost has immense power yes, power to best angels, but that doesn't bring anyone back. they're gone. death in hell is a final goodbye and so minos has truly failed them, failed all of hell that is now nearing its end. so many human souls lost. and gabriel has the audacity to be at the end of it all with v1, one of the myriad machines that has carried out the indiscriminant slaughter of the damned to their ultimate end. THAT'S....bad. bad bad for minos.

sisyphus was more prepared for this outcome, as stated in his terminal entry - heaven began their devastation and the machines continued it, so there is little more to it. i tend to like the take the sisyphus is much less angry at gabriel due to this perspective. like yes gabriel killed him and toppled his insurrection, but he knew heaven would take him out one way or another so it hardly matters it was gabriel in particular. he was outmaneuvered in a war, a war he knew would fail, and really...gabriel is now fallen. fallen because he assassinated the entire council of heaven. and i think that puts what sisyphus might think of him now in an interesting place - i have to think he's almost amused by gabriel's betrayal, damned now as an angel of treachery when he once lead the charge against the rebellious of hell. however, he doesn't see gabriel as the same as himself or minos - an angel can't understand the level of human suffering that was carried out in hell and regardless of his status now, he had lived a life being one of god's most prized servants. so while he harbors no personal grudge, he also has no intentions to align with gabriel in any capacity. besides, gabriel still seems partial to the angels remaining in hell, so he still. doesn't get it. and he never can.

i do have them make it out of their respective prisons because sisyphus breaks out of his - i'm kind of interested in sort of exploring their little subplot, about how they both respond to journeying through a desolate hell only to find gabriel near its end. and well...he had wished for more time to right his wrongs, but what can he offer to the two of them, with their kingdoms and people eradicated? what can he say when he set it all in motion and the machine with him now cleared out their remains? it does lead to hostility when gabriel is caught so off-guard, and while he can definitely hold his own better against prime souls now he's still not stronger than them, meaning v1 has to balance it out to make the encounter a draw (WHICH...is a piece i wanna do, it's just kind of. like a big one lol) but the prime souls being active means gabriel has a lot to face about himself and his past, which he was kind of getting out of free up to that point. OH AND....i'm very, very interested in developing them in terms of the other archangels. like their interplay with michael is gonna be insane. they are objects of mutual hatred yet both sides are dead so it's deeply fucked right from the start.

Sure, he tried to kill him before.

He'll get all hissy like a fussy moody cat towards him. But it's not out of genuine hatred.

JuAli are true opposites in terms of their personalities, morals/ideals/world views...

In JuAli's chapters together, I think it's sexy how Judar expressed his frustrations with Alibaba's character, basically, what he perceived as Alibaba's naivety.

Like, Judar is clearly frustrated by Alibaba's whole deal, being unable to understand Alibaba or really get what's going on with him (despite Alibaba being really straightforward as a person)

Especially when he has such a childish personality and black and white morals and worldview of boxing people into Strong vs. Weak.

It's like... At that moment, he (Judar) is not ready to face that.

Alibaba is someone that he clearly sees and perceives as "weak and naive" but also challenges his world views, cuz he just... does not get Alibaba's humble nature, at all.

In the sense of being frustrated by someone's bright (dazzling) radiance.

He understands and recognizes that Alibaba draws others to him, but just can't seem to understand why. It frustrates him how he doesn't get it. And that in itself shows a form of inner curiosity, a desire to know more.

I wanted to convey that feeling in my own dialogue scripts.

JuAli's "Love-Hate" relationship is soooo interesting to me <33 They're so sen-core.

Obviously they're more complicated than that but "Love-Hate" is just to simplify it

They're Enemies to Lovers too, but very different from LimGuda (Douman/Ritsuka) obviously. But they share most of the Sen-core ship tropes I love. I think JuAli has HoroRen (SK) kinda~ish vibes.

Like y'know. Yin/Yang. Light/Darkness. Protagonist/Antagonist. Angel/Devil. Enemies to Lovers. And then JuAli also has Fire/Ice going on with them. Sen-core meow meow mf/ship strikes again. I really adore JuAli and AliHaku, heehee. It's very typical Sen-ship trope core with their Sun/Moon/Eclipse symbolism going on.

My most favourite ships are usually Opposites Attract (the good kind). There are bad Opposites Attract ships out there obviously (charas who just bicker and literally nothing else). I'm just built different though. JuAli and HoroRen just fall into my kind of rather rough and violent end of Opposites Attract ships. Twink on twink violence is their love language /lh

Re: My Writing Ideas

Me: I don't really post my writing ideas on main cuz my dialogue scripts are more like guidelines for me to practice writing dialogue for comics, and also to help me remember my art ideas. I write down my ideas so that I don't forget them (cuz they come to me spontaneously during the day), and also so that I can hopefully turn them into comics one day 🙏

My mutuals/friends can read them though! I post them because I'm not sure when I'll get the chance to turn my ideas into art form, and because I think the dialogue scripts are interesting to read.

Also me doing this still technically counts as a form of art. Even if they're written almost like play format, it's still a form of creative writing

I've definitely gotten sm better at it like I've been refining the way I write Idate's dialogue (and other WATGBS AU charas) over time

Because when I write these scenario ideas down, I think in terms of visuals. When the ideas come to my head, I imagine and see them all visually in my head. I'm a much more visual person, so I see things through visuals, and then try to turn them into words.

I think I first started critically engaging with and analyzing media at 18 (which is a good thing, because art is a form of expression and social commentary). I think I only really got good at doing media analysis at 18+ and it refined even more at 19 - 21+

It used to be so hard for me to put my thoughts into words, but I got much better at it through practice (by doing all the thought rambles)

But I'm literally so much better at analytical writing (ie. Series and character analysis, meta) than creative writing (ie. Novel and fanfic writing), so that's why I only do dialogue scripts. It'd be interesting to try and take up fanfic writing in the future though... But it definitely won't be soon, so I'll stick to my main creative form (drawing) for now

by the end of the series do you think Claudia will redeem herself or continue to plummet into the lies she’s been told?

So Soren and Claudia are great precisely because of the contrast they give each other. Soren has a rougher personality, but a more moral heart; Claudia has a sweeter personality, but a sharper edge to her. They both care a lot about the boys, but Soren is a knight - inherently used to taking orders - and Claudia is a dark mage - solution, creatively and independently oriented. This distinction is made clear in their character designs, but also their early choices in S1: moments after Claudia sent smoke wolves after the boys, Soren is saving Callum’s life; while Soren is yawning in the funeral procession because he spent all night defending his king, Claudia burns Harrow's body with dark magic without a second thought, despite it going against traditional funeral rites.

I think Viren's biggest mistake was that he asked Soren - his strong, older son - to be the one to kill the boys, thus leaving Soren open to tell the truth with none of the justification that Viren offered up. Justification she, reluctantly but ultimately does accept and reaffirm in S3.

V: But if we are led by a child king... S: He'll make bad choices? V: He will make weak choices.

V: Claudia, you understand why Prince Ezran had to be removed? C: ... Of course. He couldn't have done the things that needed to be done.

Claudia buys into and predicates a lot on necessity, for both her and others (mostly her father). She needs to take the boys home; she needs to recapture the dragon egg, etc. Part of that is her father in her ear, of course, but Claudia isn't mindlessly obedient either. (Again, that independent thinker.) She is regularly the one coming up with solutions for her and Soren's plans, while Soren most provides distractions (attacking Rayla so his sister can go after the boys) or tools (Claudia already had the tracking spell in mind, Soren finds an ingredient).

The main thing, I think, is that because Soren was asked to do something more terrible, he was given more room to have doubts. He also was already leaning more toward seeing elves as people (not entirely, but he didn't dehumanize elves or dragons to the same capacity). Soren also made a lot of mistakes in S2 (trying to kill Ezran, lying about Harrow, his prior treatment of Callum, the dragon debacle) that he was able to recognize as mistakes. Soren pre-emptively striking first was him following through with father's ideology, and everything in that experience humbled him, I think, but mostly made him re-evaluate his life. Most importantly, Soren expresses the desire to be Free: "I'm free to do what I want without expectations from Dad, or - or anyone!"

Claudia never realizes that she's in a cage. If anything, she's bolted the door shut and think it's a good thing, and is in many ways now trapping Viren in there with her, as of S4, rather than being orchestrated into and pulled forward by devotion. She's shifted from repeating Viren's laws and each of them reaffirming each other's cognitive dissonances ("You're doing this to help us, to help everyone!" "Yes! Yes, exactly") to repeating everything Aaravos has told her (and hence why it's beat for beat what Ziard said, too): "All of the elves and dragons except for Aaravos saw humans as nothing more than worthless, stupid, dirty animals. But Aaravos saw we could be better! So he gave us magic." Which, given what Viren almost did to Soren (the heart of cinder spell) under the guise of making him better/stronger... yeah, no wonder that isn't a convincing argument for Soren. And no wonder ("But you're going to be better now, that's all that matters") it's a compelling argument for Claudia, who's always been such a Fixer by nature (something she shares with Callum, although his manifests in a different way, of course).

That said, there's still plenty going on with Claudia. Her hair being literally black and white (with the black nicely representing her humanity), her sympathetic motivations (she just wants to save her family/dad), her sweethearted boyfriend, the fact she still cares about Soren and she gave the coins back in the end. I still do think she'll be redeemed & always have, I just think she has to get worse (hair going either almost fully or entirely full white) before she gets better, and that her family (Soren, Viren, Terry, and possibly Ezran as well) will play the main / initial roles in helping her get there (to either / both ends).

Aight. It's Annello time.

SO my interpretation of Annello has a slightly different backstory from the semi-official one given by Rageminer. They still fuse the same way, with Annie showing up after Garcello dies but is still hanging around as a ghost, she runs up and reaches out for him and. Yea.

A big difference in mine though is that the fusion isn't as much physically painful as it is uh,, mentally. Once they fuse both.. I guess sides?? of them are terrified and confused. Once they even realize what happened they're understandably fuckin horrified. Mostly because.. it technically means the 2 won't really see each other ever again

I say this cause.. while I might refer to them acting more like Annie or garcy, it's not a situation of 2 consciousnesses (is that even a word hell if I know) existing simultaneously, but just one with personality traits and memories of both. Sure, they can recognize what parts of them come from who, but they still are just one.

It also takes them a while to really be able to function again. Their highly conflicting personality traits can make it really hard for them to make decisions and the energetic-ness from Annie and anxiety from Garcello don't exactly mix nicely. They are simultaneously not used to being so energetic and highly emotional from Garcy's side, and not used to being so anxious and tired from Annie's side. They have a lot of moments where Annie's impulsivity kicks in, they do something kind of foolish and immediately wonder wait why the hell did I do that??

They also probably talk to themself a lot. Both cause they sometimes need to do that to get their thoughts in order and cause they're lonely :[

They eventually start sorting themself out though (but also with my version of them they at least have lil Rascal with them, since for me she and Annie would've had a sibling-rivalry type relationship that would carry over to annello, but that's probably a post for another day)

So. I imagine their actual personality being a slightly ominous goofball. I say ominous because come the fuck on they have both the Annie chaos and the garcy calm chill guy demeanor. Do u see what I'm going for here. They're gonna take Garcy's mysterious dude in the alleyway thing and take it to the next level by actually seeming like theyre totally up to something. They can go from tired bastard to bouncy ball of mischief within seconds. I think they'd start to lean into how they seem weird and unpredictable, since it's something about them they really can't change, might as well embrace it.

I imagine them kind of speaking with kind of a sweet but sly tone while also sounding very calm and quiet. Unlike their 1 official voice line, I hc that their voice can shift between sounding more like Annie or garcello, with it naturally changing depending on how they feel or what they're trying to convey. They could also consciously change it but they can't perfectly mimick one or the other. If they're excited or shouting though, that's how you get then speaking with both voices at the same time.

Ok that's mostly it for their character but there's a few more lil details that didn't really fit in this whole explanation so here's a few more things I came up with, sometimes with inspo from people on discord:

- since they're a fusion of a very much alive Annie and a ghost garcy, annello is half-ghost. For a while they'd randomly phase through things accidentally before they learned to get it under control. Might also allow them to dissappear at will. Because fuck you I think that's fun and cool

- said half-ghost thing also lead to an agreement that Hiroari Shoots A Strange Bird ~ Till When? is annello boss fight theme. Though, I also heavily associate them with Hartmann's Youkai Girl too. Fuck I can't avoid bringing up touhou every chance I get god dAMMIT FU

- oh on the topic of songs that fit my version of them. Deathbody by Ghost and Pals and The Ballad of Jane Doe from Ride the Cyclone

- I'm not sure if I'm keeping this now but i feel like it's worth adding, I had an old liquid form design for annello where they were more of a vapor-y ghost monster instead

- they have a bit of claustrophobia, both cause of their memory of dying in a small alley but also because they are significantly taller than the 2 goobers were, everything they're familiar with like their apartment and such feels smaller to them.

-oh yea. They're taller than even garcello was. I imagine them at like 6'5-7 ft tall

- they are the epitome of 2 idiots does not make a smart person. It makes an ominous but awkward airheaded dingus

- despite them being all weird and shit they're a complete fucking softie. I don't need to explain why with these 2 goobers it should be obvious

- for a good while after they fused they dressed like a complete fucking mess since they didn't know how the fuck they wanted to dress. This is what happens when u have the fashion taste of an emo furry and a man who'd wear pajamas 24/7 if it was socially acceptable

- they have fangs, but unlike Annie that's the only part of their teeth that are still sharp. Even so, garcys influence means they still feel awkward having them, so the fangs cause them to sometimes speak with a bit of a lisp

- still kibby just a really fuckin weird one

IM SO GLAD U ASKED ANON okay look. i think peri has the capability to get an utmost fascination w azura that she doesn't quite recognize as romantic until it's right in front of her. she likes the way she looks, the way she talks, the way she talks *to peri* in particular. azura is put off a bit by peri at first but she isn't afraid of her, and i think azura's patience combined with her willingness to ask peri questions that may challenge her are what keeps peri drawn in. peri doesn't necessarily like to be challenged, but azura doesn't talk down to her, and she does actually consider the things peri says. i think it's just--azura communicates with her in ways that are patient and gradual, and peri likes the way she speaks.

azura likes peri's intense... commitment? i think she does like the dedicated attention peri gives her LOL.... but i also think azura starts to like peri more when she begins to understand her. she might even have a little bit of envy, in a way, that peri was able to express her emotions in a way that azura coudln't come close to doing. azura's anger and frustration is in a tiny little box in her heart, where peri's goes parading out on display. i don't actually think azura wants to go around stabbing people whenever she gets angry, but she hardly feels like she has the capability to exhibit her anger at all. she admires peri's ability to do so, and acknowledges the way that peri encourages her to try and feel a little more openly.

on a less dramatic level, azura finds peri very funny, too. silly and open, and also good at making azura feel included even from the sidelines. peri likes the feeling of caring about someone like she cares about azura, and honestly she thinks shes pretty. she would probably go nuts if she saw azura stab someone while they were fighting, also, HAHA

Nah but this was an experience. I knew the eps were long and unsubbed but it is honestly so nice to just have this on in the background and to just stare at it. I do find it interesting how many different species they have in starfleet here, because again up until the very minute that wormhole appeared, this was the prime timeline (which begs the question, WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO KHAN??) so that means that in TOS they also technically would have had several other species in starfleet at any given time, obviously we don't see that in TOS itself bc of primary budget issues (that's why Spocks makeup wasn't super inhuman and stuff, bc they didn't have the money to put a regular character in super complex makeup every episode) but this little detail opens up a window of possibilities that I find really fun

Like because of this movie, my TOS crew of OC's has an Orion and two Vulcans in their senior staff (I know I know most Vulcans at that time wouldn't be caught dead in starfleet but they're my dollys and I get to decide what they look like!)

Like in TOS we only got the ritual grounds, in TOSM we got the other ritual grounds, and then the other other ritual grounds, but we never really saw a city of any kind, did we? And then in TNG, we only really saw some of Sareks home and not much else of Vulcan, but then again I haven't watch the majority of Trek so maybe in Voyager or one of the other shows we see more

Honestly truly, out of every character on The Bear, my love for Richie is infinite, like he truly is my favorite character, the way he’s written and portrayed is something that a lot of writers, director, and cinematographers try to but typically fall short in one aspect or another. He’a so relatable in so many ways and it makes the audience want to root for him because yeah this older guy is kind of a dick, but a lot of the odds are against him and he’s trying, even if he doesn’t always do things right, he’s still trying

We take a 45 year old man who truly doesnt know his purpose in life, is going thru what we can assume to be an existential crisis, while simultaneously trying to mourn the loss of his bestfriend, scratch that, HIS BROTHER, meanwhile its clear he’s lost the love of his life (tiff) and holds so many regrets about that relationship and how its impacting his daughter-who he loves with his all!!!!-and he’s just trying to find his place in the family business (and in life) because prior to Carmy showing up, it was a trainwreck, but it was a trainwreck that he felt comfortable in, even a little too comfortable. We literally watch as his life flips upside down and he struggles with his emotions, his family, his physical place whether it be at the Beef/going to The Bear or even in a post-covid Chicago where everything he knew and recognized is almost gone and has changed.

I feel like Richie’s character is genuinely at a loss of who he is without Mikey in the first season, because that man child(lovingly) was like his other half, and that was his platonic soulmate that’s been taken away from him because of Mikey’s own issues. Issues that even Richie couldn’t fix and maybe he feels guilty about that because he knew Mikey was using, but he also knew he couldn’t stop him. We as the audience get to watch the way that richie is constantly struggling to be someone that he actually wants to be, and to even feel a sense of self confidence and self worth, because he overcompensates to hide his own grief and insecurities.

Then as season two is progressing we see Richie blow the fuck up and start to put himself back together in a way that ACTUALLY BENEFITS HIM!!!! Which is HIS OWN DECISIONS!! Because yes he needed the push from Carm and the rest of the family, but he also needed people outside of them to reassure him that yes he has skills, hes smart, he has a purpose and he deserves a place at The Bear, not only that but that he’s NEVER TOO OLD TO TRY AGAIN. Because we saw bits and pieces of life literally knocking this man down and him trying to laugh it off or brush things off like he was okay when he wasnt. Then he meets Chef Terry who tells him, yea bro life kicked my ass and i was sad and depressed and damn near forty at the time, but I didn’t give up and I tried again because it’s never too late!!! And that allows him to take a look at himself and realize ITS NEVER TOO LATE TO CHANGE!! And he can do things for his OWN BENEFIT THAT MAKE HIM FEEL GOOD (ie cleaning his countertop before going to work and wearing suits). Then he does what nobody has ever expected and APOLOGIZES TO SUGAR! and we see the way staging impacted not only his professionalism, but his sense of self and even his confidence. He knows that he cant do everything and that it’s okay, but now instead of forcing himself into spaces he doesn’t fit into, hes making his own space and in turn sliding into the places that he does fit in.

He’s literally such a well written and portrayed character and he’s so fucking real and so fucking relatable, and yea he has his unlikable moments (as many of us do) but that doesn’t define him, and now he’s learning not to let the past define who he can be and stop him from trying things differently in the present!

I live laugh and LOVE Richie!!!!!!!
