ooo okay! so, imma go with jet / sokka / zuko because i adore how these three interact in general (see a friend is still a friend by me and a truth so loud you can't ignore by @zukkaoru ) because they absolutely lose all their braincells when they're together. anYWAYS

a headcanon for them is that most people don't realize they're dating? most people assume that zuko and sokka are dating and the reason why jet and sokka banter all the time is because they think that zuko dumped jet for sokka / sokka "stole" zuko from jet so everyone combusts when they see sokka and jet kiss or zuko and jet hold hands everyone combusts

anyways you get another headcanon because i want to: zuko and sokka's hair is long enough for jet to play with and so jet is always the go to boyfriend for doing hair. he'll put zuko's hair in buns for him and put sokka's in ponytails. sometimes when sokka wants physical affection but is having a bad tic day and doesn't think he could handle hugs and such, he'll just plop down in front of jet and make him run his fingers through their hair. jet can tell when zuko is anxious or stressed and runs his fingers through his hair to help calm him down.

but idk if this is a ship you're a fan of, so i'll also yue / suki / mai / ty lee: ty lee made them all matching friendship (romantically) bracelets that they all wear literally all the time. each color braided into it represents / reminds ty lee of each of them. but also they all love decorating and rearranging their house, so like once or twice a year, they all take some time off to spend the whole day cleaning and rearranging their furniture and yue cooks for them and suki makes a playlist and they like sing and dance while they clean and stuff and they all just have so much fun like they deserve <3

So this! Was an absolute mess from start to finish. Good thing is that I practiced chest anatomy, which is something i am not very good at. It came with it's lot of trial and error 😬 At first he had pecs at belly-button level, because I had litteraly no clue where to put them. Then, he was too wide and buff (yes it's possible. He was really wide. Althought he's already super shredded in the show so that wouldn't be that unrealistic lol) so I tried shrinking him, but.... Meh? Also at this point I realised I couldn't shrink the head, and it wasn't shaded enough for my taste, so I just said fuck it! Cut it off, and reshaded it properly. AFTER doing all that, it still didn't look quite right so I did what I should have done since the begining and changed the lineart so it didn't look as harsh. And it looked great! So yeah. But my troubles with this bitch weren't finished, because (fast foward a couple of days) after I had finished writing AN ENTIRE POST about this, tumblr decided to eat it like the draft-eating whore it is. They REALLY need to change that functionality it's horrible.

Anyway. I'm finished now. So as you can see, he does have white scars now. Yes, even the one on his cheek, I promise it's here, just very small and white, zoom in. Oh and yes I gave him a mullet-looking haircut because 1. I felt like it and 2. Long fluffy hair zuko is best zuko

- has a new minimum wage job every few weeks and gets fired for increasingly dumb reasons. was fired from walmart for trying to unionize, was fired from goodwill for telling off a girl who wanted a gbf, fired from barnes and nobels for hiding the bibles behind a bunch of copies of the communist manifesto.

- used to be transmed but had a few emotional conversations with zuko (a trans guy who doesn’t experience dysphoria) and now like.. isn’t

- is a anarcho communist but like.. annoying about it. idk if this is a universal experience but u know the super leftist kid at ur school (for me it’s a pair of twins but like) who just won’t fucking shut up about the class struggle?? that’s him.

- he and zuko were SUPER close in middle school before either of them came out as trans and before zuko figured out he was gay. like homoerotic haha what if we were both male pirates and we kissed on the boat haha just an idea kind of friendship. like get our ears pierced at claire’s together and then sit on the roof and stargaze kind of friendship. when jet came out (as a lesbian first, then later as trans and bi) zuko responded with a lot of internalized trans- and homo- phobia from his father and they had a fight that ended with zuko crying and jet screaming at him.

when i finished high school i went to vietnam for a while and it was pretty big bc id been diagnosed w a serious chronic illness a year before and its only when i look back now that i realise how brave i was to manage this illness while overseas for the first time on my own as an 18 year old. also i learnt a lot abt south east asia and the history of its ppl and the effects of colonisation and invasion it really expanded my understanding of the world n made me question things i take for granted and what things my culture values etc

A Theory on Hair:

In the Geek Dad Article (That’s now been removed but I and many others have screenshots of), the author mentions several things in relation to episode 7:

So this tells us that, unless they’re being incredibly overdramatic, someone will die at the end of this season (or, at least be severely injured).  I think all of us at this point suspect Krolia.  This will come back to play in a bit.  It also tells us that an old friend will return, and a lot of us are speculating that Real Shiro will be back as well, which I think is also likely.

But to me, the most cryptic aspect of this is the sentence about cosplayers having to change up their look.  Right about now, we’re all probably having flashbacks to when “Shiro” returned to the team with long hair and then proceeded to cut it into a new and uglier style.  So your memory association might think that when Real Shiro returns, his hair will be back to normal, and cosplayers will have to change it.  And that’s not an outlandish theory, and I’m sure a lot of you went there.

I know nothing about cosplay, I’m just gonna put that out there right now.  However, Shiro’s hair is iconic throughout the Voltron Cosplaying Universe.  I have not seen a single person cosplay Shiro with his new hair.  Maybe they exist, IDK.  But to me, it would be pointless to say this in relation to Shiro cosplayers about changing their hair back to Real Shiro when their hair never changed in the first place.

So, I don’t think Shiro cosplayers have anything to be worried about.  So whose hair is gonna change up?  For some reason, hair is REALLy important symbolism in this show.  Actually, it seems important to most of the shows Dreamworks puts out (Zuko, everybody?).  Pidge cut her hair in her dramatic flashback moment, like I said above,“Shiro’s” hair grew out, and when he returned to the team, cut it off.  IMO, to symbolize that it’s not the same Shiro we know and love.

Who else’s hair has been an important focal point since the show began? Keith.  From the very first appearance of Keith in Season 1, Keith’s mullet has been referenced (exclusively be Lance, but that’s not necessarily important).

I would argue that it’s referenced at least once a season.  This is important.  If there’s no reason to bring it up all the time, save for Lance to tease Keith, what’s the point?  Keith’s iconic mullet is also well known and talked about in the fandom all the time, and an important part of anyone who wants to cosplay Keith.

I think Keith will be the one who’s hair changes.

To backtrack a little bit, I think Krolia will die this season.  I don’t want her to die, but I expect her to.  It’s gonna be sad, and as the episode spoilers suggest, I’ll probably cry about it.  I don’t know how she’ll die, but I assume it’ll be devastating.  One of my theories is that she dies in some explosion/reaction/quintessence/magic confrontation.  Maybe Keith had a reaction to it, changing him and his hair along with it (throwback to the ep when Keith got quintessence on his hand and it turned purple).

@coranner , who I discussed this theory with, knew where this was going before I even said it.  They pointed out to me that a lot of cultures around the world treat hair symbolically, and some often change their hair when a person close to them dies.  This points me to theory number 2.  Keith symbolically cuts his mullet to honor his mother in some way after she dies.  It would be a really cool way to throw in a bit of culture into it, made up or not, as well as be a good way to give Keith closure over it instead of the constant torture p0rn the writing team usually puts him through.

Overall, my main theory never actually was that it would be cut neccisarily.  I think we still haven’t really seen any evidence of Keith’s galra genes, and I’m thinking that Krolia’s sacrifice might trigger a change, most likely Keith’s hair color, or style in some way.  Though, him cutting it would be, so cool and symbolic.

TLDR: I think Keith is the one whose hair is going to change in some way because of the sacrifice I believe Krolia will make.

1) Luna Lovegood: Not only am I a ravenclaw, but I’m also as socially perceived as someone who is rather peculiar. I also wear clothes that are similar to hers, and used to have literally the same hair. I also have an exact replica of her wand, and if that’s not the true embodiment of my faith to Luna and our shared personalities, idk what is. 

2) Newt Scamander: I dont mean to engage in a bit of a Harry Potter faux pas, but I also relate to Newt’s shy and introspective temperament and love for animals, though I’m a bit too tactless and forceful to be 100% Newt--although my last name is Newt, so coincidence? I don’t THINK so. 

3) Coraline: I love Coraline with all my heart, I even have the Coraline book signed by Henry Selick. I love the creepy storyline, the amazing artwork, and Coraline’s curious nature. Also, I can relate to her desire for something she perceives as ‘better’, even when it can come at her own peril. I’ve even dyed my hair blue and can perfectly cosplay her on a moment’s notice. 

4) Aang: Out of all of my Avatar the Last Airbender choices, Aang fits me perfectly in a way that I don’t think Zuko does. Zuko is too brooding and all worried about his damaged honor (aka his fuckboi ego---but don’t worry I still love him). Aang is the perfect mix of serious and the occasional ability to be fun-loving despite his enormous responsibility to, ya know....save the world. 

5) Link: Link’s nature reminds me of Newt Scamander in a way, though he seems to be even more soft spoken in my opinion. Either way, he’s a sweetie and I love him to pieces. He is also known for his unbreakable spirit, which I *think* I can align with...at least I really hope so :/ 

6) Sherlock Holmes: Ok, so this one is totally a cliche, but come on....he’s totally on the spectrum. He also *supposedly* would have an IQ between 140 and 180, where mine has consistently been 139 or 140 respectively every year since I was 16. I’m kinda close? But I really hope my social skills are a bit better, but I doubt it. 

Also, my friend sitting next to me says that if I write my IQ in this blurb, that I’m already just as much of an asshole as Sherlock can be. Ah, well. What a fitting addition to my list, then. 

7) Anakin Skywalker: Can be ambitious and tactful to a harmful degree. He also rocks kind of a mini mullet like I did the last three months of the spring 2017 semester. 

8) Last but CERTAINLY not least, Raven from Teen Titans. She’s dark and complex, with a bit of nerousis. that is just too #relatable

Have you seen that post about little voltron things that points out that Keith is ambidextrous because he sometimes uses his sword in his left hand? It made me happy because it reminded me of how Zuko was also likely ambidextrous (dual swords n that) and idk I just love finding similarities between my faves

once i was in this tiny mountain village in nepal and i didn’t realise it was in the lead up to the dashain festival (a festival where tens of thousands of animals are ritually sacrificed), and i came out of the building where i had paid to use a shower (the first in like 4 days bc i’d been trekking/camping) and these tiny mountain laneways were suddenly filled with hundreds upon hundreds of goats being herded through the village on the way to slaughter site and i could not understand what i was seeing. like all of a sudden there were these goats everywhere i looks like spilling down these tiny little lanes ?? that was pretty weird but mainly bc it was so unexpected . also felt bad when i realised they were all gonna die
