i think the biggest issue in the "diva is dead but don't blame sekai for xyz reasons" argument is like yes of course, but literally everything about "blaming" sekai aside. i don't want to play sekai as a rhythm game. it's being put forward by the fanbase as like, some sort of replacement but the story and new characters don't come close to saving it for me and the rhythm game mechanic is not interesting! if you're into tile tap rhythm games then that's great but it's not a diva equivalent!! at all!! project diva is a proper rhythm game, you use literally all the buttons on your controller, it's hard and takes practice and you have to actually learn it. people (myself included) have put hours into learning and playing diva, you can't just be like well sekai is the new vocaloid rhythm game, suck it up and have at it, when that hasn't been the case from the start. if i WANTED to play a tile tap rhythm game i would download literally any other gacha mobage that's idol themed lol. there's no actual diva replacement and THAT'S why people are upset

Honestly, if I could pick 3 marauders era characters to survive and instantly end the war by somehow managing to surpass the prophecy, the answer is so damn easy:

Lily Evans. Absolute icon, uses blood magic against voldy to protect her family and completely destroy the body of that nasty old fuck so it's so nearly impossible to bring him back. We're talking centuries old, impossible to break magic. Give her another 5 minutes and that man is GONE. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned or whatever.

Dorcas Meadowes. Lily managed to use the insane magic within her to destroy his body but Dorcas did a NUMBER on his army. Bro had to find her himself and kill her? She was doing so much damage to his cause that he had to come out and kill her? Love that for her. She could wipe out half the army and leave him hopeless. Again, same as last time. Give her 5 minutes bc she's out for blood.

Regulus Black. The body and army are covered, but he is the only one with the secret to the soul. He is a bitch with a vengeance. Straight up nobody else had the information he did, if he'd used his common sense and gotten others in on it or just...not died, he could've easily killed him, even if he wanted to leave that job to somebody stronger than him in canon. If he'd gotten over himself and teamed up with the other two they'd get rid of voldy in an instant and maybe also teach him to unlearn some of that stuff he'd had ingrained in his mind.

If I could add one more it would be one of the Prewett twins. They're crazy strong but I don't think they came anywhere near as close to destroying him as my girls (yeah regulus counts as one of my girls bc he's an absolutely diva). I know some people will be shouting Severus but he wanted to play the long game and play by the rules. He had his chance, I think we need more anger and volatility here yk?

i can’t believe you were thinking about them.. that is so crazy to me. just know that me & oz are having a meltdown every time you guys send an ask like this..... um. they're deeply unserious characters and we smack them around like barbie dolls

in any given au, they always meet at a halloween party :,).. in this one, they're dressed as each other's respective mystic entanglements. theo (avoiding socializing by going upstairs to quietly look at the diff. bedrooms & get sentimental about the lives of strangers) found freddie (super plastered & spilling tequila everywhere & in a sequin halter top & actively stealing family photographs as part of an elaborate revenge plan after the host insulted his haircut once several weeks ago) and they spend the rest of the night locked in the upstairs bathroom together. theo takes him home but they don't sleep together and that surprises freddie. freddie sleeps in theo's bed & likes how it smells & falls asleep with his hand dangling off the bed, holding theo's where he sleeps on the floor.

it's because they cannot STAND each other lol.. but also bc they are also more alike than they realize. freddie is a caterwauling diva who cannot tolerate not being Taken Extremely Seriously and theo is addicted to riling him up & making him blush & curse him out. theo cannot handle being proven Wrong and yet freddie is always on some 5d chess machiavellian mind-game shit & a few steps ahead of him. but it is punctuated by these rare & random moments that are disconcertingly tender (like halloween) and it freaks both of them out + they have a lil thing wherein they're immune to each other. theo has a bit of a halo effect on people & freddie tends to always get his way BUT because of their own situations it doesn't work on each other. but they're unaware of each other's situations. so they are both hysterically like WTF IS WRONG WITH HIM? hear me out: zosan pro wrestling au

i'm a huge wrestling fangirl and i've been thinking about how zosan really fits into this. let me lay out my argument:

pro wrestling is a mix of sports + theater/entertainment right? so while there is a sports element, pro wrestling has storylines, characters, and wrestlers engage in more dialogue-based scenes (promos) outside of the ring. HOWEVER pro wrestling as an art form has the blurriest fourth wall EVER. they often blend reality and fiction. things in storyline are represented as Real. but more often or not, Reality is brought into storyline. a big example of this is that when 2 wrestlers dislike each other irl, good business practice is to turn it into a storyline. so a feud can be a mix of fictional elements mixed with real animosity. MESSY!!

also because it's scripted, everyone in the match/storyline has to agree. which means you have to be willing to lose, or "put someone over" (make them look good). obvs if there's real beef between 2 wrestlers the politics of that can get testy

similar to acting wrestling has CHEMISTRY. it's very clear when 2 wrestlers just click in the ring. in fact there is a term called wrestling soulmates, which people use to describe a pair of wrestlers who simply bring out the best in each other naturally.

so. zosan.

often rivalries have a babyface (hero) and a villain (heel). i have so many one piece pro wrestling au Opinions and scenarios, but my ideal one for zosan is:

it takes place in the indies. babyface!sanji (nicknamed black leg) and heel!zoro come up in the business around the same time. they wrestle for different promotions (companies; side note: indie wrestlers are not contracted like in wwe so they can wrestle wherever whenever) for several years before they so happen to be booked for the same show. because they're both rising stars, they are scheduled for a match together. they're already familiar with each other's work, but there's an immediate tension there bc they are both trying to be The Indie Wrestler of their era. and their personalities clash. they clash a LOT while planning the layout of their match together.

but when they get in the ring, it's magic. inexplicably it's as smooth as butter when they wrestle each other.

which is good for both their careers, but also bad, because they hate each other and now companies all over the country want to book them together. so they're stuck in a storyline together, and unfortunately, it's the best work they've done in their careers so far. the wrestling is great, and their promos against each other are heated and leave crowds coming back for more beause they can't tell what's real or not. backstage though they get along like cats and dogs, especially when it comes to deciding who wins each match + how they can still look strong in defeat. the bookers don't mind they're both such divas because they put on a damn good match whenever the bell rings

but obvs working so closely together leads to bonding anyways, not to mention the intimacy of wrestling as a sport. some wrestling rivalries last multiple years, or decades, and rivals often are forced to team up for storyline purposes to.

what i'm saying is that maybe their storyline ends up leading to them being a tag team and going on the run of the century. maybe sanji turns heel and they're just an evil wrestling duo wreaking havoc around the country (they're both nice people irl).

i have a gajillion thoughts on this but i will stop here.

YAY CROSS GUILD ASK I AM IN SUCH A CROSS GUILD MOOD LATELY YESYESYESYES!!!!!!!! And I'm making this romantic because if I don't make cross guild gay I might die. Thank you.

Okay, so what I'm hearing here is that they keep their lights real low on their shared tent, and whenever they have meetings: At the start of their business relationship, they're still learning how to get used to being together. Buggy is used to stage lights but only for a while and he doesn't want these two to know another weak spot of him (also the pain around his whole body is killing him sometimes), so he tries to deal with the migraines and being uncomfortable because he knows that complaining will only lead to these two using him as a punching bag. But lucky for him, Mihawk does mention one day that he hates brightness (because edgy vampire can't say 'my head fucking hurts' like a functional human) and so he says something about candles. Buggy is afraid they might set the tent on fire but he prefers this over the headaches. Crocodile doesn't give a fuck about this, honestly. Then, they start growing closer and y'know, I'll just skip to them dating- They're dating. They share a tent there at Karai Bari. And now it's something to do instinctively? Like they just keep the lights low or light up some candles and they just live like that. Whenever they're on a ship they do this too.

Following what I just said, they're affectionate but like, in a weird way. Because, y'know, look at them. Buggy ends up crying and complaining about his headaches and also when his body won't stop hurting. He's a drama queen, of course, a diva. He lives flashily. Cries flashily, too. He always curls up beside Crocodile so the big big comfy man can provide him some comfort and warmth and pats on the head or something. Crocodile just runs his hook through his hair softly and lets him be annoying for a while until he falls asleep on top of him. If he has to do something he just??? Won't do it??? He's a pirate but he isn't a fucking monster. One day Mihawk catches them and they share that look of understanding that only cat owners understand, because God (Nika is the only one I believe in, something something amen) is watching and if you dare to move when a cat's in your lap, you go instantly to hell. On the other hand, when Buggy cries and Mihawk is the one around, he gives him some painkillers and turns off the lights completely to then read Buggy one of his books. He does this without saying a word and the first time this weird, silent sign of affection happens, Buggy is speechless. And also, yes, Mihawk can read in the dark perfectly well because he's a cat. He sees in the dark. I even think Buggy can see his gold eyes staring at him. They're like the headlights of a car. Oh, and Mihawk deals with his migraines in perfect silence but when it's a bad day he gets into a very irritable and irascible mood. Most people would be complaining about it but at least this way he's more talkative? Somehow? He's a bitch to Buggy for a while and then they just talk shit about other people together while Crocodile makes a comment like "If you're well enough to complain, you're well enough to continue worki-" and it's, like, the and only time Buggy instinctively throws a pillow at him to shut him up. Never again, though. Scary mafioso-looking boyfriend.

Now that we're talking about Crocodile, the phantom pains: They stress the fuck out of him. They're painful and uncomfortable and he wants to strangle somebody. On a good day, that somebody isn't Buggy. And on a bad day, Buggy really tries to be the sweetest fucking thing on earth by making everything comfortable for him and disappearing right away. Maybe he starts an argument with Mihawk for something stupid but they make up later, it's fine. But, you know what? Sometimes he needs comfort and somebody to distract him too, so one day (when Buggy is about to disappear for hours so he doesn't end up suffering the consequences of staying too long with him) he tells Buggy to stay. The clown is frightened, but he does what he's told and- And it's surprisingly sweet? Crocodile just tells him to talk to him. Explain something. Anything. Complain about the fucking weather or tell a joke. Anything. And Buggy is genuinely surprised but ends up either talking shit about people or telling him anecdotes or just reading him the paper. And Crocodile seems to like it??? A surprise for both, really, but the man actually likes having the clown around because it is working really well as a distraction and when Buggy is not being annoying Crocodile realizes why he loves him. He loves him when he's annoying too, though, he bullies him out of love. Sometimes he just tells Buggy to come sit on his lap and stay there and Crocodile is still in pain but somehow being with the clown makes him feel better. Mihawk tries to be comforting on these days too but it's more of a "you ought to rest, otherwise you'll be irritable all afternoon and you cannot keep frightening the subordinates" type of silent care than anything.

Also, I want to add Crocodile almost murdering a man one day because they were doing business with him on his ship and he had a lot of lights on (when he was asked not to) and both Mihawk and Buggy were visibly uncomfortable the second they entered the room. I love protective Crocodile. He looks like he'd just murder men without any remorse for talking shit about the other two. I like it.

Skytober Day 25: Redesign

Ever since I saw doom stone's concept design I really wanted to do something with it, so I combined it with doom stone's final design to make this biatch!!

I was considering using this for day 23 (oc) but I chose this day instead. This is still pretty much my own skylanders oc now so read more for my personal hcs about them!!

First and foremost, I made her a girl. Why? Bc there's zero female swappers and that I just can. Also since she's literally just a statue brought to life with no definitive gender/sex, she's technically trans :) (she's also bisexual, unrelated but I thought I'd bring it up anyways).

The darker parts of her body are far weaker than the rest, hence the various cracks from past battles. You could technically call the lighter parts her "armour" even if they're practically attached to her.

Gameplay/Backstory wise: She's pretty much the same as ordinary doom stone, however I don't actually own him myself so I don't fully know his game mechanics.

As for personality: Doom is quite sassy, but very civilised. Her other swapper teammates may see her as a diva but still respects her as a useful companion in combat. She's often the one to have the strongest opinions in the swap force when it comes to any gossip or drama circling around skylands. She gets along most with rattle shake, spy rise and stink bomb for having similar personalities/opinions. Doom oftentimes gets annoyed by swappers such as freeze blade or fire kraken for being "immature", although she definitely isn't fond of the ones who think they have authority over everyone, such as blast zone or night shift. However these are all just minor grievances, she still cares for all of her team.

One in particular is rattle shake... who she has a "complicated" relationship with... interpret that as you like :)

ok sorry it took me almost a month to answer the rest of these wip asks I kinda forgot all these fics existed. anywayyyy this fic is based on a post by @bucktits that I of course cannot fucking find now but it was about buddie meeting at a farmer's market and falling in love<3 and so was born the fic where buck and maddie (the doc title is kind of a lie bc maddie is the beekeeper and buck is more like her little apprentice) sell honey at a farmers market near Eddie's house every weekend and Eddie is allergic to honey but he becomes their #1 customer anyway bc he is obsessed with buck and wants to bone him so bad. and also they're both still firefighters but at different stations (sorry I know some of u hate that). it's really just dumb and silly and an excuse for me to write Eddie Swagless Diaz being a down bad diva. anyway ill put a snippet under the cut:)

In his defense, he really did go through a fair amount of it already, and if he were to try and project his rate of future honey usage based on current available data, he’d say now is a perfectly acceptable time for him to restock. Christopher has been adding it as a topping to almost every possible breakfast food after Eddie let it slip that honey is a marginally healthier alternative to maple syrup, and Carla had taken a jar home as well.

“Well, Christopher loves it. And I gave some to a friend.” Two technically truthful facts that just happen to omit the third, also truthful fact that Eddie still has a jar and a half of honey sitting in his kitchen cabinet. Honey is nonperishable, right? So it’s a normal thing to store in bulk, he reasons.

Eddie can’t help but interpret Buck’s answering smile as knowing anyway, like he’s seeing right through him. The thought doesn’t bother him as much as it should.

“I’m glad you’re enjoying it!” Maddie pipes up from beneath the brim of her beach hat. She’s sitting in a camping chair behind the table, peering at him over the top of a pair of bright pink sunglasses. The combination of accessories seems redundant considering the canopy they now have covering their booth, but Eddie supposes white people can’t be too careful. He wonders if last week might have been the duo’s first time at a market; they seem decidedly better prepared this time around. 

He doesn’t particularly like the way Maddie’s gaze cuts between himself and her brother, nor does he enjoy the way her polite smile morphs slowly into a full-on grin as she watches them. She sits forward in her chair, clasping her hands in her lap and crossing one leg over the other like there’s nowhere else she’d rather be.

Echo & the Bunnymen (okay im a huge bunnymen fan and im so glad you checked out ocean rain!! i really recommend listening to basically their first 3 albums before ocean rain (crocodiles, heaven up here, and porcupine) because they're super iconic and gothic. unfortunately from their 1987 self titled album and forward they lose their post punk/gothic sound and became like alternative dad rock. they're still good but those albums are hit and misses)

But there's an interview/video with Peter Davidson somewhere he says he believes Mercedes haven't been able to build upon their base the past 3 years because they're just trying to stack up on downforce in different parts (I believe it's from the Spa floor time frame but it stands), when in the ground effect cars that's not how performance is unlocked bc the cars work as a whole body (as in sometimes more downforce on the nose can set back the whole rear and you need to find the compromise). // I think Mercedes was also hurt a lot from the budget cup , I think it was in 2019 that they changed a lot of the car after the first three days of tests , now you need to be more selective in what you work on and built because you have limits but the downforce thing is also very true . I think that the opposite of what you said about Merc was told on Newey , I rember reading that when he works on the car he try to not just add down force but to make sure it will be actually usable .

For sure, up until 22' they never had to deal with budgeting the way they do now.

I always remember how the w08 was a hugeee diva but they had the money to get her so many updates, like at some point during the season they were testing different braking systems going to assymetrics layouts just for practices and then reverting back (i don't think they ever used that again with that car). And the w10 you mentioned, gosh that pre season felt like a nightmare, and then they turned up to the first race with a different car altogether.

But regardless of what they were used to, now the coastcap exists and we've seen with Mclaren that a turn around can be done, you just need to get those regs right, which i don't think Mercedes fully understands.

I think Newey said that himself on that interview he gave when he confirmed he was going to Aston too. And it's also a recurring theme on his book about ground effect cars.

There's also losses of technical personnel (some bc of the cost cap), which makes me wonder how the Brixworth factory is looking like for the 26' regs that have a bigger focus on engine (although the aero is still very much based on ground effects)

what headcanons do you have for iphigenia and dennis’s friendship?

- they've been friends since forever (grew up in a similar circle), but only became BEST friends when they both got kicked out of their respective groups, genie from the popular capitol girl group (vip, livia, arachne, pippa) and dennis from a group that included hilarius, pup, festus, coriolanus and felix (i suppose that could be considered the popular group too??)

- this is around when they're like 12/13

- and they become proper friends bc they don't have anybody else to sit with, so (almost reluctantly) they decide to sit together (they're still really bitter about being kicked out of their groups)

- they start talking and bond VERY quickly because they both have artistic hobbies. (dennis is a photographer and genie makes jewelry).

- theyre both members of similar subcultures in panem (alternative fashion!)

- they also have similar media interests, old poetry which is just walt whitman and edgar allen poe, niche horror movies (don't tell me that panem doesn't have movies, they do!!), and they understand random references to the media they like that literally nobody else does.

- theyr also both very much queer (genie is under the enby umbrella and she's a lesbian and dennis is gay and in denial)

- after they become BEST best friends people start dubbing them The Weirdos and it totally sticks

- they use the name to refer to themselves and theyr probably the reason it sticks tbh

- genie calls dennis "diva" (ik damn well i said this in a panlo and sheaf post too, but i js find diva so funny) and dennis just calls her genie (he made that nickname).

- they go on all sorts of adventures tg

- they have a "detectives club" which is open to anyone (literally nobody other than them shows up) that's just them being nosy about other ppls drama

- diana ring shows up one time and they have a blast

- i imagine them to also be decent friends with the ring twins because of their similar sense of humor

- dennis is the only person genie has ever told about her father's abuse and their eating disorder, and he's very protective of her from her father, he always knows when somethings up with them

- and in turn dennis confides in genie about his own family problems (his brother is an ASSHOLE!!)

tl;dr they're weird kids who became ride or die within like a few weeks and never looked back since.
