mama ‘23 | day one !
Tumblr media
part one | part two
a/n: it’s NOT proofread, i’m also really sorry bc it’s not really good. mama was last week and i was having some issues, so it’s taking me a little longer to update here. but i PROMISE i’ll make up to you guys with lots of updates <3
as cheers got louder, every idol and camera panned to seventeen suddenly entering the venue. the idols couldn’t help but whisper and be in awe of the only female’s look. nari looked flawless, the all black outfit making her pale skin stand out, the leather jacket with the belt complimenting her figure and completing the look to perfection. she had a beautiful pair of boots that came up to her thigh, which accentuated her legs even more.
as she passed through enhypen and txt, both groups complimented her looks and jungwon even gave her a quick hug, stating that he missed having lunch delivered by her - which made her laugh and say that she would do it again once the tour ended.
during the small interactions somi had with the audience, she took the time to say out loud that one of the prettiest idols was present, making nari blush when somi said her name and told her to say something.
“woah, did you guys know that the prettiest idol is here today? she’s so pretty, i don’t know if i said that already, but she has been my crush since i saw her on the tv when her group debuted.”, somi giggled, arching a brow. “nari-nim, did you come as a surprise to steal hearts today?”
the blush on nari’s face could be seen from far away as she hid her face in her hands, the idols around them giggling at her flustered appearance while her members poked fun at her. as her hand could be seen, the cheers got louder when her engagement ring could be seen on the big screen.
cameras captured the moment some idols had surprised reactions to the audience’s cheers for the female, enhypen’s sunoo being the most iconic one due to his nodding and pleasant expression at seeing the ring.
“sunbae…”, somi started, fiddling with the cards while looking in nari’s direction. “if you ever want to collab, just hit me up.”
nari gave her a thumbs up and did a phone sign with her hand towards somi, smiling shyly when somi winked at her.
-
nari couldn’t help but smile brightly when the camera panned to her group, waving and bopping her head to the beat of the song playing around the venue. she was so happy that they were able to appear at day one that her smile never faded from her face - getting even bigger when the staff called her backstage sneakily, trying to make it as hidden as possible.
as she was standing up, joshua looked at her confused, tilting his head. nari dismissed him and got up, saying that she needed to use the bathroom and she would come back quickly. he just nodded and explained to dk and jeonghan what she was gonna do since they were confused as to why she just disappeared.
a few minutes since her disappearance and after a winner’s speech, the stage lights suddenly turned off. everyone was curious since every idol that was gonna perform was still sitting in their respective places, no one being announced.
suddenly, a piano version of the playback of ‘killing me’ by nari began playing. the cheers got so loud that it startled everyone, her members being so shocked that their mouths were hung open. no one expected this sudden performance - especially her members.
a spotlight suddenly turned on, focusing right in the middle of the front stage, where nari was placed. when she appeared on the big screen the cheers got deafening. she had a beautiful short white dress with string attached to it, while her hair was in curves and her feet bared. the idols that were seating all had their eyes focused on her.
she brought her mic to her mouth, singing lowly and slower than she usually would. the bridge was the kickstart of the performance, she sang it beautifully while having a pained expression on her face, her backup dancers surrounding her.
“저 멀리 비춰오는
새 계절같이
아름다운 빛
따스했던 온기 모두
꿈같아, it's true”
as she said the ‘it’s true’ part, nari slowly got on her knees, singing the chorus before the outro. and, as soon as it started, she stood up and started dancing to the outro with her backup dancers. she gave her all, serving both face and talents. as the outro ended, a sudden beat dropped and a break dance for ‘killing me’ started. nari herself had choreographed it, which consisted of two women dancing together.
she had the brilliant idea of inviting bada lee to dance with her, the dance being a kind of ‘contemporaristic’ hiphop. the last beat was the last move, which ended with nari holding bada’s nape while the dancer’s back faced the audience. the lights turned off once again, her members and the whole audience - including the other idols - cheered loudly as it did, seventeen’s expressions being of pure pride for their member’s successful and surprise performance.
though, just as they thought the surprise was over, an extended version of the first beats of ‘play’ started playing. the crowd went off once again when her backup dancers started to dance an alternative choreography for the intro in the front stage while nari was getting ready.
nobody had noticed that nari ran backstage as soon as the lights turned off, changing her outfit as quickly as possible, putting on a beautiful red dress with a underboob cut and a slit for her waist to be seen, the skirt having some strings attached to it too. she paired it with red gloves and a lace platform red heels. her hair and makeup remaining the same as the first song.
as the dancers were moving to the main stage, nari was waiting for them in the middle of it, standing in one of those circus steps, with the whole stage decorated in this theme full of flowers also. when they got to her, nari smirked to the camera and shouted.
“mama, let’s play tonight!”
as soon as she finished the original intro for play started playing with nari starting it off on the steps. the crowd going off once again and her members freaking out on their seats. the camera being able to capture hoshi’s amazed expression while vernon had a funny ‘o’ shaped mouth.
as the pre-chorus started, nari was already standing on the stage’s ground, in front of her dancers as she danced to it - her mic on the entire time. she danced her whole heart, moving through the whole stage.
during the first chorus, she got down the steps towards the other idols, standing in front of all of them. she made a stand up motion with her hand, making them all stand up to dance with her. she did the whole chorus with them, smiling brightly as she got on the stage once again. joshua laughed, him and jeonghan whispering the word ‘cute’ to each other over and over.
though, as it was already a surprise to everyone, nari called no other than her own boyfriend to sing the rap part of the song. since he just had to stand in the stage with a mic while nari danced around him, he was allowed to participate. everyone screamed loudly when he appeared on stage, his voice booming through the venue as nari was getting up the steps to dance around him.
as the bridge started, nari slowly walked to the front stage once again. she held eye contact with the camera the entire time, ateez’s san reaction to that had everyone clacking since he had a hand on his heart and a shocked expression on his face, eyes totally focused on the woman.
nari stopped before her high-note and stood still while her dancers danced around her. she hit her high note effortlessly, a pleasant smile on her face right after she finished it.
when the outro started playing, one of the backup dancers stayed on the front stage with her while the others ran to the main stage. as soon as the outro started they were dancing the practiced tango for this part of the choreography, the audience cheering for them as nari danced with him.
“I’ma play you on repeat!”, she sang with her whole heart, ending the performance with a big smile on her face as everyone cheered for her, the seventeen members getting up and some even whistling, making nari laugh and cover her face, the reactions going viral in all social medias due to their cute and supportive relationship.
as soon as she was off stage and everyone was seated, the boys started to question each other, suspicion written on their faces.
“are you sure none of y’all knew anything about this? not even coups-hyung’s appearance?”, seungkwan questioned, arching a brow while looking at the other members.
everyone denied, still not believing nari had the audacity to do a whole performance on the low, with no one knowing besides the company and the mama producers. though, now they knew why she was so adamant of coming on the first day.
“i’m so shocked…”, vernon said. “she got coups to do it without spilling anything… that’s another level of commitment.”
they all laughed and nodded, joking around and listening to the other performers before nari came back.

OUR PAST SELF
A/N: its been foereverrrr since i last wrote for my fac family and im also celebrating 13k followers! im so thankful for all of you, i hope to bring you many more stories!!
PAIRING: husband!dad!Harry X Reader
SUMMARY: Reminiscing about what your past self would say if they saw you married with four kids.
WORD COUNT: 985
MORE FROM THE ANOTHER ONE UNIVERSE | SUPPORT ME!
Tumblr media
“Babe!”
“What?”
“You have to see this! Come down!”
For a split second you consider ignoring your husband’s request that came from downstairs. You literally just settled down on the bed, opening your book you haven’t gotten to read all week. Chores are done, the twins are at Anne’s and Ellie peacefully playing in her room. You were supposed to have twenty minutes to yourself, maybe thirty if you’re lucky, but now it seems like you’ll have zero.
But then you think of the excitement you heard in Harry’s voice and you know you won’t be able to just sit and not think about what he got so worked up about.
“Coming!” you call out, placing the book back onto the nightstand where it will probably remain untouched for a couple more days.
Walking down the stairs you hear Harry’s song Satellite playing in the living room and it has you wondering what he is about to show you. But as you come around the corner the music cuts off and you find him with Leo in his arms. That little rascal is all smiles, showing all of his total of four teeth. He is the most adorable tiny gentleman with his curls and extra chubby cheeks. All your kids had cheeks that screamed to be pinched and kissed, but it seems like Leo got more of that gene.
“What’s going on here?” you ask, a smile already tugging on your lips.
“Come on, sit down. You need to see what Leo just learned!” Harry gestures towards the couch and you make yourself comfortable, watching him set the toddler down in the middle of the room. The coffee table has been pushed to the side, giving enough room to have a little dance party.
Leo watches his daddy with bright eyes as he grabs the TV remote and he starts the music again. Satellite starts playing and Leo giggles in excitement. Harry sits beside you, watching him proudly as he takes your hand in his, giving it a squeeze.
“Look, watch him now!” he points at Leo.
The song comes to the part where Harry usually does his iconic arm thrusts, the one that makes all his fans go crazy, because it gives an amazing view of his toned arms. But this time he is not the one dancing, instead, Leo is wiggling his arms that distantly resembles what Harry usually does on stage. It’s absolutely, ridiculously, whole-heartedly adorable, adding his giggles and how he bounces, your heart is bursting in your chest.
“Oh my God!” you squeak, grabbing Harry’s bicep as you lean into him, watching your son dance around to his daddy’s music.
“It’s so freaking cute, right?” Harry enthuses. Jumping to his feet he sweeps Leo back into his arms and starts dancing around, making him laugh even louder and there’s nothing sweeter than a baby’s laugh.
You watch them finish their performance and then they join you on the couch, Leo climbing over to you, settling on your lap. You brush his hair out of his forehead and kiss the crown of his head.
“Can you believe he’ll be one year old next month?” you sigh, snuggling to Harry’s side.
“Crazy, huh?”
“Mind-blowing,” you admit with a chuckle.
“You remember how it went when I told you I wanted another one?” he grins, poking Leo’s tummy playfully.
“Hey, you said you wouldn’t hold it against me!” you protest.
“I’m not, it’s just sweet how hesitant you were and now…”
“Now I couldn’t even imagine life without him,” you finish his thought, kissing Leo’s cheek.
“We’ve made some really awesome babies, huh?” he smirks, clearly so full of himself.
“Well, I did most of the work,” you purse your lips at him, not letting his head grow any bigger.
“You did,” he nods, smiling. “My awesome wife gave birth to four babies. That’s still so insane.”
“Crazy,” you hum, squeezing Leo to your chest gently. “What do you think our younger self would say if they saw us?”
“Like how young?”
“I don’t know. Maybe fourteen. What would fourteen years old Harry say if you told him you have a wife and four kids?”
“He would highfive me, because it means I’ve had sex at least four times,” he answers without missing a beat and you smack his chest as his laugh rumbles through it.
“You’re such a pig!” you tell him off, but then add: “And it’s just three times, because we have twins.”
“Damn, you’re right,” he chuckles. “But jokes aside… He would be shocked and… relieved.”
“Relieved?” you raise your eyebrows.
“I was afraid I might end up alone when I was younger,” he shrugs. “Marriage felt so distant and unattainable. But then came you,” he adds smiling and leaning closer he steals a quick kiss. “What about you?”
“She would be over the moon if she saw how hot my husband is,” you grin at him. “And she would probably ask what it looks like down there after four kids.”
Harry’s laugh roars through the room and Leo starts laughing too.
“I can assure her that you look stunning down there.”
“Oh shut up,” you poke your elbow into his side.
“What? I love your pu–”
“I swear to God if you say that word in front of our son, I’m divorcing you,” you warn him, but can’t stay serious when you look at his toothy grin.
“Oh, you wouldn’t leave the man who gave you the cutest babies,” he scoops Leo from your lap and walks back to the middle of the room. “Come on, Buddy. Let’s give mum a show,”
He turns the music back on and you watch them dance around and you could stay like this forever. You’re so loved and you have even more love to give to your family.
Yeah, your past self would be proud of you if she saw you.
Thank you for reading, please like and reblog if you enjoyed and buy me a coffee if you want to support me!

Before He Cheats.
EddieXyou
Little one shot based on the song Before He Cheats.
Just imagine the song was released in '86🙈
Also may or may not have stolen a scene from another tv show 👀
Summary; You're late for one of Eddie's gigs at the hideout but things fall apart right before your eyes.
Warnings; Angst, heartbreak, cheating, public kissing, brief mentions of sex
8:17pm the alarm clock flashed red and if you didn't get a move on you were sure to miss the whole set. You'd promised Eddie you wouldn't be far behind him as he left in a huff without you to go meet his fellow Corroded Coffin band mates at the hideout, you told him you just needed to do your hair, which you both knew was a lie. You'd normally be ready by now and make your way over with Eddie but he had other plans, other plans being that he couldn't leave without making sure your legs were shaking and the contents of his balls were emptied inside you. After the tough couple of weeks you'd both had, you both needed that release. You'd not touched each other in weeks, which for Eddie, was unusual. His behavior had been all round strange, you'd barely seen each other and you felt un-wanted, but its not like you even bothered to make an effort with him, you didn't care, if anything you were glad. You'd been arguing a lot more and instead of going round to his after work you'd go straight home, you'd avoid his calls and go days without seeing him. You squeezed your thighs together and bit down on your still puffy bottom lip as you visualized what had happened moments before, shaking your head to rid the image you hopped out the shower, wrapping a towel around you, you made your way to the bedroom to start on your makeup straight away. You actually couldn't wait to see him, doing what he did best, making you proud. It had been a long time since you last saw him perform.
. . .
A smoky eye paired with a deep red lip was your finished look as your black hair fell to the middle of your back. A quick glance at the clock, 9:21pm "Fuck. Where the fuck is my purse" you muttered running round the trailer while trying to pull on a knee length, heeled boot. Hanging over the clothes rail you caught the glisten of the shiny black faux crocodile skin strap in the light, you tugged it off and threw it over your shoulder, rushing to make your way out the door to your car, not before spinning on your heel and hitting your hip, with a yelp of pain, on the kitchen counter to grab your car keys, uttering curse words and slamming the trailer door you jumped in your car. Shoving the key in the ignition you glanced in the mirror to check the path was clear, rolling your eyes you snatched out the roller you'd left in your bangs. You shifted the gear into reverse and then forwards and put your foot down speeding off with a screeching wheel spin, kicking up dust from the gravel under the tyres. Unbeknownst to you Eddie was trying to call you only to receive a dial tone, you'd accidently knocked the phone off the hook as you'd slammed the door behind you.
A slam of the receiver and Eddie turned to his band mates "Fuck it, she's not coming boys. I'm not waiting any longer." He picked up his guitar and went out on stage.
9:39pm. It was only 10 minutes to the hideout but you'd been stuck behind the slowest old lady going 25mph, you'd beeped, tried to over take and even driven right up her ass, but eventually gave up when she didn't take the hint. "He's gonna be so pissed with me" you sighed gripping the steering wheel, turning your knuckles white. "Ten fuckin' minutes i told him, 'oh i wont be far behind you babe'" you mimicked your own words in a silly voice.
10:02pm. Slamming the car door behind you, you hitched your purse onto your shoulder while calling the old lady every name under the sun. You heard no band playing as you got closer to the door, just the faint sounds of whatever was playing on the jukebox, your heart sank, you'd missed his set and man was he gonna be upset. They only play half an hour and you couldn't even manage to fucking make it. By this point you knew Eddie thought you just weren't gonna turn up, you knew him too well. Or so you thought.
As you slid in through the door, you made your way over to a dim lit corner and you took a seat. Looking towards the stage you could see Jeff struggling to take an amp through the back with a disgruntled look on his face. Where was Eddie? that's his amp. A loud crash made you jump and avert your gaze, now over to Gareth who was flailing his arms in the air, shooting angry glances ahead of him. Boy, if looks could kill. Part of his drum set scattered between the floor and the entry to out the back. He looked pissed. Your brow furrowed as you slowly moved your eyes across the room. A bleached -blonde girl was bent over the pool table, cue in hand while giggling and pushing her ass out. "Jesus, what a tramp" mid roll of your eyes you caught sight of the person behind her. Bent over her, face in the crook of her neck, very clearly pressing his crotch into her fucking ass, showing her how to shoot a combo. Your eyes slowly scanned him, from head to toe. Brown curls that fell to his shoulders, plump lips, a dirty smirk, a necklace with a plectrum attached. Tears pricked your eyes, a hand covered your open mouth, you didn't want to carry on looking but it was like a car crash, you couldn't turn away. A denim battle vest with the sleeves cut away, a motorhead patch, a w.a.s.p pin. You're eyes made their way to his face, What felt like barbed wire gripped your throat, you could see it, right there in his eyes. The lust. The same lust that you knew, come to think of it, that look of lust wasn't even there not 3 hours before when you were underneath him, moaning his name. "Eddieeee, you're a tease" loud giggles knocked you from your train of thought as you saw him, right there in front of you, their position had changed, although still pressed against a pool table, she was now facing him as he nibbled on her earlobe. Your heart ached at the sight. Never would you think Eddie would do something like this, never in a million years.
You'd snuck round to the side of the bar out of their view, sat on a barstool, you'd thrown back almost three quarters of a bottle of Whiskey and the anger built up inside. You watched them as the night went on, every little thing they did, how he bought her drink after drink, obviously something with a low percentage and fruity as she cant handle shooting whiskey, she'd previously sang some white trash version of something on the karaoke. "I'm s-sooo drunk Eddie" she giggled, hiccupping, rubbing her hands over his chest and down to his waist, up and down his torso, the same torso that was not long sweating on top of you earlier that night. "I know sweetheart" a shit eating grin across his face as his hands explore her ass and his lips crashed down onto hers. Sweetheart? No. Please, he didn't just fucking say your pet name to that girl right before he kissed her. Your fists bunched up at the side of you as the tears fell thick and fast down your cheeks, you stood up knocking the stool over and you held onto the bar for support. Stumbling outside you rummaged in your purse and grabbed your keys, making way over to your car you caught a glance of his van, the left corner of your mouth turned up into a smirk as you ran towards his van.
The screeching noise from the keys dragging deeply over the sides of his van were unbearable, it was a clapped out banger anyway, this only made it look better. You knew he always left it unlocked when at the hideout so they could either pack up quickly or so he could come to his van to smoke a quick j. You threw the doors open and picked up what you knew he kept in there. “It’s just for emergencies baby, just in case a deal goes wrong or, or we need back up” his words echoed in your mind. Two smashes later and you’d completely busted his headlights. “Hm this baseball bat DID come in handy” you laughed to yourself as you took a big swing to his drivers side window, climbing inside you took a pocket knife hidden inside his glovebox “y/n” you carved into each of his seats, laughing manically while the tears still fell fast, cheeks stained with mascara. You sat for a moment, a wave of guilt washing over you. Fuck. All you wanted most was his arms around you , telling you everything was okay, that he loved his sweetheart so much. Faint laughter soon stopped that thought and through the wing mirror you saw them, making their way over to his van, his arms draped over her as he followed behind still nuzzling her neck. You swiftly kicked the dented door open with some force and jumped down, leaning against the door you waited.
"Eddie, baby. When are you gonna tell her? You said you would and that was weeks ago" her whiney voice made your hairs stand up on end, there's that barbed wire feeling around your throat again, your eyes narrowed and before you knew it, you'd made your way around the van, four hissing tyres quickly releasing the air that was once held in them. "Hey!! what the fuck you doing? hey!! you!!" The hissing sound drew Eddies attention quickly as he started jogging over. "I'm fucking talking to you asshole, that's my fuc-." Eddies eyes widened as he recognized your face as you slowly rose up from beside the tyre. His whole demeanor changed from flirty, happy Eddie to kicked puppy Eddie.
"Y/n.. sweetheart, wh-what are you doing? You know that's my van right baby?" as Eddie took a step towards you, you moved back. "Edsss, what is going on, baby i wanna go HOME" the shrillness of her voice was intolerable. "Yeah, 'Eds'. What IS going on.." you folded your arms across your chest stepping out into the light. "Eds, who is this? Tell her to beat it" she shrilled, with a roll of your eyes and a scoff leaving your mouth, you moved a few steps forward, standing in front of her, you could see her bright pink lipstick faded, her hair clearly not a natural blonde and her blue eyeshadow was smeared. "Oh, me? Who am i? No honey, that's not the question you wanna be asking" I was his girlfriend. As you circled her, eyeing her up and down, Eddie watched closely, eyes wide. "The question you should be asking is, why have i wasted my entire night watching a cheap two bit whore and someone who was my boyfriend all over each other the entire night, playing fucking tonsil tennis?" you glared at Eddie with narrow eyes as he looked down at the floor. Coward. A cackling laugh brought you from your stare "Listen i don't know what imaginary world you live in darlin', but me and Eds have been together for a few weeks now" she finished with a toss of her hair and a stupid smirk. Everything was slowly coming together, it was her. She was the reason for his behavior. Your heart felt like it'd been taken out and stamped on. "...So if you don't mind, honey. Me and Eds are going home" your hand gripped the pocketknife still within your grip, knuckles turning white at the pressure. The most deranged laugh pulled itself from within your throat "A few weeks? Try 6 fuckin' years SWEETHEART." Your hand which held the pocketknife slowly lifted itself up to her face like it had mind of it's own, the girl stepped backward but you followed forward. "Edsss g-get this psycho away from meeee" the shrieks echoed the Hideouts parking lot and with a lunge forward, still holding up the pocketknife you shouted "BOO!" you couldn't hold the laughter in as she ran away screaming. You threw the knife through the smashed window as you just stood there, "Look Y/n.. I- I wanted to tell you, i thought i should, I really was going to, and then Steve convinced me not too" you just blinked at him, in shock most of all. That fucking asshole Steve, you wanted to kill him. "Do you realise none of this would've happened if over these past few weeks i didn't think that you didn't wanna be with me?"
"Alright, lets say i met someone else and, and you found out in a bar where you were running late and you got there to find me practically fucking on a pool table and THEN Eddie, you find out I've been fucking him for weeks, no. actually. not just fucking but we're together, in love with each other, fucking every day and every night, holding each other i-in bed, cuddling, would you be able to forgive me?" a choked sob escaped your lips as you imagined Eddie doing all that with her.
"Yes. I would"
"You'd have been okay with me being with another man? Kissing him, been naked with him, made love to him?"
"Yes"
"If you knew our hot, sweaty, tangled bodies..."
"LA LA LA LAAAA" Eddie cut you off by covering his ears and shouting, "Okay! Okay!! yeah, i would have been devastated but, i- i would still want to be with you, because i mean, its you. Its always been you, since kindergarten, always you"
You had found yourself sitting on the floor, back leaning on his dented van, it had been silent for over fifteen minutes now, you had no words after what he said, nothing. He sat perched on his drivers seat facing outwards and looking down at you the whole time, your head tucked down into your knees and your arms cradling around them.
"What, you're not even talking to me now?" Eddie jumped down and sat cross legged beside you, facing you, "I-I'm sorry okay? I'm sorry. I was out of my mind, I thought I'd lost you. I didn't know what to do. C'mon! C'mon, how insane must i have been to do something like this? huh? I-I don't cheat right? I-, that's not me, I'm not Steve. Y'know, Y'know what? I'm- I'm not the one who pushed me away, okay? You're the one who bailed on us, you're the one who ran when things got a little tough."
"That's fucking bullshit and you know it Eddie, That's absolute straight bullSHIT"
"Okay, well here we are. Now we're in a tough spot again y/n. What do you wanna do? How do you wanna handle it? Huh? Do you wanna fight for us? Or-Or, Do you wanna bail? Look, I.." Eddies eyes filled with tears "..I did a terrible, stupid, stupid thing. Okay? And I'm sorry, i wish i could take it back but i cant, i just cant see us throwing away something we know is so damn good. Y/n, i love you so much." Eddie leans forward and kisses your shoulder, moving up to kiss the side of your face and finally pressing his lips to yours.
"No Eddie!!" you stand up, moving away from him. "Don't! You cant just kiss me and think you're gonna make it all go away, okay? It doesn't work like that. It doesn't just make it better. Okay?" you sigh "I think i should go" your voice soft and small. Eddie stands and moves in front of you.
"Look, look. There's got to be a way we can work past this? okay?" Eddie takes hold of your arm gently, "I cant imagine my life without you.." The both of you start to cry, looking deep into each others eyes "..Without- Without these arms, and your face, and this heart. Your good heart Y/n." Suddenly Eddie drops to his knees and hugs you tightly around your waist. "..And.. And.." He sniffles.
"No, I cant. you're a totally different person to me now. I used to think of you as somebody that would never, ever hurt me, ever. God. and now i just cant stop picturing you with her. I cant." Eddie slowly stands up backing away "..It doesn't matter what you say or what you do Eddie, its just changed everything, forever." Tears are falling thick and fast down both your cheeks.
Eddie shakes his head, placing his hand on your cheek "Yeah, but this cant be it?" His voice cracks and hurt pangs through your chest.
"Then how come it is?"

Hihi omg I just found your tumblr and I absolutely love your writing and I now am in desperate need of a blurb where a 37 weeks pregnant reader attends HSlot to support her boyfriend husband Harry and walks out from backstage to in the middle of the concert to watch him perform and all the fans stare in awe. At the end Harry acts a little sad because she stole all his attention and makes a little joke and speaks into the microphone about how amazing and strong she is. Pls xx
Hihii! Thank you so much bby! 🥺❤️ I'm so sorry this took forever but hopefully you like it! Also, I gave it a little twist from what you requested. I'll definitely be revisiting this and adding some stuff in the future ❤️

DILF at work
paring: husband!harry x reader
word count: 820
---
“This isn’t the last show yet, love. If you’re feeling tired, you should stay back here and rest.” You were sprawled between Harry’s legs on the chaise lounge sofa backstage. His hands were softly caressing your 37-week-pregnant belly while his chin rested atop of your head. You’d been complaining all day about heartburn and back pain, and from this angle, he could clearly see how swollen your feet were.     “Plus, you’ll still be able to see the show from the TV” he gestured towards the flat TV screen on the wall in front of you.
“Yeah, I’ll save some energy for the last show. Wanna see my hubby smashing it” the smile plastered on your face showed how much pride and admiration you felt towards Harry. You pecked his lips sweetly right before Jeff came knocking on the door, giving Harry his five-minute warning. After a few more kisses, he got up and made his way to the soft goods box.
-----
The view from the TV wasn’t as exciting as being in pit, that’s for sure. Harry had been on stage for almost an hour now, and he was about to go onto his quick bathroom break. Your heartburn had calmed down some time ago and were feeling much better. Right before Harry ran off stage, the camera filmed a sign that quickly caught your eye: “Do not disturb: DILF at work” and below the letters, a picture of japanrry napping on a frayed brown leather sofa. It made you laugh so hard you had to hurry to the bathroom.
After the quick bathroom trip, you talked to a security guard that quickly located the girl with the sign and accompanied you to meet her. She recognized you immediately before you had reached her spot. Some other fans around noticed you as well and started to get excited.
“Oh my God! YN! Hi!” she squealed.
“Hi girls! Are you having fun? Enjoying the show?” You smiled widely at her and her little group of friends.
“Yes, oh my god, it’s amazing! How are you?!” It was clear they were starstruck and, to be honest, it was quite cute and endearing.
“Good, good! Listen, I saw your sign from backstage and it’s hilarious! Would you mind if I borrow it? I think Harry will love it!”
“What?! Yes, yes, for sure! Holy shit! Yeah, you can take it!” She did not hesitate for a second to hand you her sign, which made you giggle.
“Thank you so much! What’s your name? Can I get your Instagram? I’ll DM you after the concert to give it back” The girl was quick to pull out her phone and show you her Instagram handle after telling you her name. You noted it down and, after exchanging a few more words, you bid your goodbyes.
The more time you spent with the girl, the more people noticed you there, creating a commotion around you, making Harry, who was about to start performing his next song, notice everything.
“Oi! What’s all that hassle over there? It’s supposed to be my show!” He joked lightly. In the meantime, the crowd had made a small pathway towards the stage, letting you pass through. You kept the sign down, wanting to surprise him when you got close enough.
“Well, well, well, it's my wife, coming to steal my spotlight!” He laughed. “Everyone, please, give it up for the beautiful, the talented, the wonderful, one of my personal favourites, the missus, YN Styles-Y/LN!”
The crowd went wild with screams as the camera crew focused on you and your face appeared on the stage screens. You waved shyly and smiled modestly, not used to being the centre of attention of over 50,000 people at once.
“I thought you were resting backstage, love. Whatcha got there?” He spoke into the mic as he scrunched down by the edge of the stage to see you better. You gave him a mischievous smile and lifted up the sign. “Do not disturb, DILF at work” he gasped after realising what he had half-whispered into the mic. “YN, language! This is a family show!!” he walked away talking to the crowd. He then turned back around towards you again, a cheeky smile on his face, and joked: “… ooooooor is iiiitt?!”
The entire arena shook with screams due to his iconic one-liner, and you laughed along with the fans.
Later, that night, as Harry fell asleep on the hotel sofa, you propped up the sign on top of him, hiding the japanrry picture, and snapped a quick picture of him. His hair was dishevelled all over his face, a cute pout on his lips and he was hugging a pillow as if his life depended on it. You don’t usually post anything related to you and Harry’s relationship, your Instagram was mostly dedicated to your professional career and a few pictures of some trips, but this picture was worth posting.
Do not disturb: Future DILF at work. (PS: Thanks for the sign, @fansusername)

210104 Weverse Magazine ‘Be’ Comeback Interview - Suga
SUGA “I'm grateful that there are still unvisited areas in the world of music” BTS BE comeback interview 2021.01.04
SUGA has this way of talking passionately with a deadpan look on his face. Full of passion about his life and music.
How is your shoulder? SUGA: Good. I think it’ll get even better once I take off this brace. Apparently, it takes several months for a full recovery, but I'm trying to get better as fast as possible.
How does it feel like to have resolved a problem that has distressed you for long? SUGA: First of all, I'm glad. The pain is one thing, but when my shoulders got worse, I couldn't even raise my arms. But when I heard that this might recur when getting the surgery at a young age, I waited for the right time and had decided to get it done early next year regardless of the COVID-19 situation. I had planned to get the surgery after the year-end stages, but I got it done this year (2020) because my doctors advised me to start preparing early for next year’s promotions and activities.
How does it feel like watching the other members doing promotions? SUGA: I can't say it feels great. I could see the emptiness because we've been together as a group of seven for so long. Not necessarily because I'm not there but because something that should be there is missing?
Is that what made you join the promotion as much as possible? You shot lots of video footage in advance and you even appeared in the Mnet “2020 MAMA” through VR. SUGA: Fake SUGA (Laughs). There’s this 3D studio where we shot it. I shot, scanned, and acted there, but couldn't see the actual result at the studio. I thought a sense of displacement was unavoidable, and that was exactly the case. (Laughs) I acted normal because it would have been aired anyway even if I hadn’t had the surgery, but it seems a lot because it’s aired after the surgery.
You must feel restricted not being able to go on stage. SUGA: The thing is, it's only been a month after I got surgery, but my absence on stage is so apparent. But my doctors keep telling me that I shouldn't be impatient and in fact, many athletes get a resurgery when they return to the field without proper rehabilitation. So I'm working on trying to care less. For the first two weeks after surgery, I felt so frustrated that I tried out new things. I even watched movies I didn't watch.
What movies did you watch? SUGA: I watched ‘Samjin Company English Class’ as it happened to be on IPTV, and now I have ‘Tenet’ on my list. ‘Parasite’ was the last movie I saw at a cinema. As the social distancing measures became stricter, I haven’t been going outside, except going to the hospital. I even eat at home. I'm also watching a lot of TV nowadays. Watching music shows like ‘Sing Again’, ‘Folk Us’, and ‘Show Me The Money 9’ made me think of what I should do in the upcoming days.
Could you elaborate on that? SUGA: A lot of candidates on ‘Sing Again’ are very talented but hadn't had the opportunity, and on ‘Folk Us’, I noticed that many took their own guitars on stage. I started playing the guitar lately and I'm having this urge to broaden my scope of music. And since my interest in the music industry in the U.S. grew, I'm getting prepared, studying English and all.
What fueled your interest? SUGA: In some ways it’s the most commercially developed market. You could lose the industry attention in a flash if it's not feasible. So in this system, you would try everything and that would be an efficient way. I want to do music for a long time, and to this end, I always want to learn more about the global music industry because I want to do music that’s loved not only in Korea, but also in the U.S., Japan and Europe.
Speaking of which, it seems BE was influenced from music of the past rather than today's trends. SUGA: I especially like impromptu music. I love the songs that were made in one take instead of being recorded several times. In this era of crossover genres, the desire to do better in music is growing inside me.
As the genres become more blended, the melody you use must be more important. Does starting to play the guitar affect your composing in any way? SUGA: I always liked using guitar sounds. And I have always liked the Eagles. If you play the guitar, it’s way easier to write songs because you can carry it along wherever you go, pluck on the strings to create melody lines. Keyboards are difficult to carry around. (Laughs) I usually work on my laptop but I had this thought that I definitely needed an instrument. It accelerates my work and improves my understanding of chords.
It makes me think you could intuitively make melodies. SUGA: It’s easier to write a song because you can intuitively make a progression and try many different things. During my work on ‘Eight’, IU had recorded and sent me a song from her phone. At the time I couldn’t play the guitar, so we tried to make sure we’re working on the same page when keeping track of each other's progress. That made me feel the need to learn an instrument.
This is actually before you started playing the guitar, but I found ‘Telepathy’ in BE very interesting. The varying melodic progressions between hooks for each member made me wonder if you wrote the melody intuitively for each part. SUGA: I tried writing a melody for the first time this year (2020), and as I started knowing the fun of music, it opened a lot of new doors for me. So it was kind of easy working on it. I just played a beat and wrote from the beginning until the end. Done. I wrote it in just 30 minutes. The song almost wrote itself. The trends of pop and hip-hop these days cross boundaries between vocals and rap. I like this trend.
When I listen to your singing, it feels like you’re hitting the beats rather than singing along the notes. So I thought perhaps you're singing as if you're rapping. SUGA: When you're rapping, you just think of the rhythm, so it’s like simply putting on a melody to a rhythm. To define which comes first, I think melody adds to it while writing the rap.
In ‘Life Goes On’, the lyrics ‘Thankfully between you and me, nothing’s changed’ are somewhere in between. It's not rap but it’d be mundane to say it's a mere melody. SUGA: There are obviously songs where the rap needs to be highlighted. For example, in ‘Dis-ease’ or ‘Ugh!’, you have to be good at rap. But in songs that should be easy to listen to, impressive raps are not always the way to go. Sometimes, you want smooth transitions without obstacles.
In that sense, the rap flow of ‘Blue & Grey’ was impressive. Rather than a dramatic effect that emphasizes each part, you extended the rap just as much as the slowing beat. SUGA: To be honest, this beat is difficult to rap to. The beginning of the song only has a guitar line, which made it even more difficult. I participated when we wrote lyrics for ‘Blue & Grey’ and I've always wanted to work on a song like this. It was because verse 1 talks about the theme of the song.
It seems you achieved almost everything that you wanted in BE. SUGA: I think it took less than a week to make my part in the album. After having written one or two melodies for ‘Life Goes On’, I wrote a version complete with rap, and liked it that I even worked on a separate arrangement and lyrics. Rather than pondering over the ways that might work, I choose to simply play the music and write.
Many creators are unsure even after they’ve produced good work. How do you get the conviction to release your work? SUGA: Many musicians are unsure whether they should release their music or not. It was the same for me, but the thing is, you’ll never release anything if you nitpick everything. For example, if we release 10 songs, we have a chance to unveil them in concerts or fan events. And sometimes, as we listen to the song, we think, ‘Why does this part that had bothered me no longer bother me?’ Some things might feel awkward at some point, but in time, it no longer feels awkward. Even I forget about it. So it's more efficient to fine tune, looking at the big picture, rather than thinking too much about the details. On top of that, during promotions, I don’t have the time to pick tracks that others have sent for 10 hours. It would be a success for all of us if each of us play and write a melody in their own time and collaborate with others on the details. So the way of songwriting has evolved in many aspects.
What motivated such evolution? SUGA: I think it evolved naturally. I've changed in personality this year (2020), as well as in terms of my interpretation and attitude toward life to the extent that I almost thought I've been rehearsing. How would it feel like if there were no stage to go to or anyone looking out for me? This thought made me realize the value of these things.
In ‘Dis-ease’, you sing ‘I don’t know if it’s the world that's sick’. Was it this lifestyle that changed your thoughts about your work? SUGA: Yes. When I was young, I had embraced the belief that ‘It must be my fault’, but as I got older, I realized that this is not always true. Most of what I had thought was my fault was in fact, not my fault. On the other hand, there are things that I did well and times I had been lucky.
‘I NEED U’ came out during a time when you were still thinking, “It must be me”. After the members put on a stage with ‘I NEED U’ in KBS' ‘Song Festival’, you wrote on Weverse, “It’s the same as five years ago.” How would you compare with back then? (This interview was held on December 19, 2020.) SUGA: We've matured quite a bit. And our stage performances have become more natural. I still like ‘I NEED U’. Just listening to the beat makes me sentimental, and above all, the song came out nicely. So as I was watching this and that when I stumbled across old videos. Watching them made me think that we haven’t changed much.
In what aspect haven't you changed much? SUGA: Before the social distancing measures got stricter, I talked with the photographer for BE, whom I had met four years ago. The photographer was surprised that we hadn’t changed much after all the success, even though he had assumed we’d be very different.
I'm amazed personally. I’ve had the chance to meet the members before your debut, but from your way of talking with members or others, it seems you haven't changed. SUGA: I think it's because we don’t give it a big deal about success. For example, it's incredible to be ranked first on the Billboards, but there’s also this sense of, “Okay, and?”
Even the Grammys? (Laughs) SUGA: When we got nominated for the Grammy Awards, we thought, ‘Is this real?’ (Laughs) Of course we were delighted, but it didn’t make us think, ‘We're singers nominated for the Grammy.’ If you're nominated, you're nominated, and if you get the award, you get the award. You don't get shaken by that. I know it's a great award and would be so grateful if we receive it, but we know that nothing is possible without the tremendous support of our fans. What’s more important is that the fans are more flattered than us when we receive a great award. So everyone's rejoicing, but it’s like, ‘Let's do what we have to do.’ We've been training ourselves to keep finding our places, so no one remains overexcited.
In ‘Fly To My Room’, there are lyrics that say, ‘This room is too small to contain my dream’, and ‘Sometimes this room becomes an emotional trash can, but it embraces me.’ I had this feeling that the room had been such a place and that you were accepting that you have changed. Then the essence must have remained the same. SUGA: It wasn’t easy to accept that we eventually change. But I think it's a good thing that we changed. What we did back then was possible only at that time, and we could change because of the things we had accomplished.
Then, what new things are you dreaming about? SUGA: I'm eager to continue doing music. Since all performances were canceled due to COVID-19, I had a chance to talk to so many musicians in Korea. I talked with legendary singers as well as people who are my contemporaries. Talking with them once again made me realize that I love music so much. Because music is my profession, I can’t imagine myself not doing it. I'm grateful that there are still unvisited areas in the world of music.
What kind of music do you think you’ll be engaged in in the future? SUGA: I was greatly motivated when I saw the concert of Na Hoon-a last Chuseok . I wondered how many musicians would actually be able perform and write music for so long like he has. At that moment, it occurred to be that ‘I want to be like him’. He has passion and desire, and most of all, he is a superstar. A few years ago, I took my parents to a Na Hoon-a concert, and when they watched the performance last Chuseok, they said it was way less impressive to see him perform through the TV. (Laughs)
That must explain your interest in a broader spectrum of music from instruments to composing and musical genres. Because you want to be doing this for a long time. SUGA: My goal is to continue doing music in any shape or form. In that sense, I have this great respect toward Cho Yong-pil. He takes the best sound there is and reinterprets it into his own. I think that’s something I want to emulate and keep changing and evolving so that I can continue doing music for decades to come.
The lyrics ‘Thankfully between you and me nothing’s changed’ must sound more meaningful for the fans because they will be listening to your music for a long time. SUGA: A month and a half in the current times must seem like a lifetime for the fans when we're far apart. I feel the same. But I think that's proof that we worked hard for the past seven years and that the fans have been passionately reaching out to us. I'm striving to get to them as fast as I can, and I'm eager to go on stage. I'm going through this because I want to be better on stage in a better condition, so don't be sad, and please hang in there a little longer.

New York Times interview with Jack White’s 3rd wife Olivia.
By Madeleine Aggeler
It was something out of a fairy tale, if everyone in fairy tales wore denim and leather and looked like they smoked American Spirits. One minute, Olivia Jean was a shy kid from Michigan competing in her school’s battle of the bands show, and the next, she’s performing with her boyfriend, the musician Jack White, and he’s proposing to her in the middle of his song “Hotel Yorba” — right before the line “Let’s get married/ In a big cathedral by a priest.” A minute later, Mr. White remembered, come to think of it, one of the guys backstage was a licensed minister — does she want to get married right then? She said yes.
On an early April evening, a crowd that had gathered in the Masonic Temple of Detroit for the kickoff of Mr. White’s Supply Chain Issues tour was drenched in the warm glow of love, bright blue stage lights and a couple of contraband cellphones that enterprising audience members had managed to slip past security. Also in attendance: the father of the bride, Brent Markel, who had been watching the show, unaware of what was to come, and appeared onstage to give his blessing.
“Initially I was shocked and confused when Jack said, ‘Let’s get married right now,’  Mr. Markel said. “But when I realized it was happening, I was so happy for them.” Altogether, Ms. Jean and Mr. White’s entire marital courtship — engagement to wedding — lasted just five and half minutes. “It was the best experience of my life,” Ms. Jean, 32, said several weeks later. “You could plan a wedding for five years and it wouldn’t compare to that.”
At her favorite vintage store in Nashville, where the couple live, Ms. White showed off her appropriately goth engagement ring: a marquise cut onyx that she had worn on her middle finger for years, and that Mr. White, 46, surreptitiously had customized while under the guise of getting it cleaned. He had three black diamonds added on either side, and a small diamond placed in the middle. “It looks like a spaceship,” Ms. Jean said, admiring her pale, slender hand. “Or a beetle.”
Ms. Jean floated through the racks of cat T-shirts and whimsical sweaters with a surprising lightness for someone with combat boots the size of compact sedans strapped to her feet. Her look is that of a rockabilly Morticia Addams: long, jet black hair, severe bangs over glacier blue eyes and swooping eyeliner sharp enough to cut glass. Marriage stories have a way of eclipsing everything around them, especially for women, and especially for women marrying a mega-celebrity, like Ms. Jean just did. Take June Carter Cash’s ambivalence toward her own onstage engagement — the less goth predecessor of Mr. White and Ms. Jean’s nuptials. In 1968, Johnny Cash proposed to Ms. Carter in front of a crowd of 7,000 people in London, Ontario. When asked about the engagement 13 years later, in a joint 1981 interview on the “Mike Douglas Show,” Ms. Cash said: “You’re not going to make me tell it again!” Ms. Jean has not yet tired of her own engagement story, but she said that long before Mr. White placed the beetle ring on her finger, she was a musician with her own body of work and her own fans.
She performed with the band the Black Belles from 2009 to 2012, then released two solo albums, “Bathtub Love Killings,” in 2014, and “Night Owl,” in 2019. During the pandemic, she started working on a third album, which is mostly done, but probably won’t be released until 2023 because of a vinyl shortage.
Ms. Jean’s music is loud and muscular, a distinctly Americana combination of brash garage rock and boppy surf music. It’s music to listen to while applying red lipstick in the rearview mirror of a convertible, or while fantasizing about smashing an ex’s TV with a baseball bat. What she writes about best, she said, is “frustration, stress and being angry,” though she insists that in reality she’s really quite content. “I live a pretty easygoing, happy life,” she said, smiling. “That just seems to be the only thing that inspires me, is writing about sassy emotions.” The wedding did change things, though. There’s being a successful musician, and then there’s being a successful musician whose spontaneous wedding to a well-known rock star made headlines around the world.
Fans know rock star couples on a first-name basis: Sonny and Cher; John and Yoko; Whitney and Bobby. These couples become greater than the sum of their two parts. Fairly or not, their art and their relationships become inextricable, each one seeming to fuel the other — the romance inspires the music, and the music inspires grand, romantic gestures, like, say, getting married onstage in front of thousands of people. “I feel like a spotlight’s been put on me after that experience,” Ms. Jean said. “It was a really positive thing that happened, and it makes me happy to know that other people approve of it, and appreciate how cool that was.
So it’s positive, but strange. Very strange. Ms. Jean grew up in the suburbs just outside of Detroit. Her parents encouraged their four children to be creative. When she was 7, inspired by a B-52’s record she stole from her father, Ms. Jean got her first guitar and started teaching herself to play. In second grade, she formed a band called Broken Glass. At 12, she started a band with her brother. They played the school talent show and won the battle of the bands, a victory that still clearly delights her. By high school, Ms. Jean was a loner who spent much of her free time recording her own surf music. She played all the instruments herself, recording each on a tiny computer microphone and layering them on top of each other with a free audio editing program. At 16, she started playing small clubs around Detroit. She handed out her homemade CDs to friends and co-workers, who mostly seemed confused by the offering. “It was a hobby,” she said. “I didn’t know you could make money off of music.”
Then, in 2009, when she was 19 and going to school for graphic design, Ms. Jean had two very important conversations in quick succession. The first was with a friend, who told her that the Dead Weather, Jack White’s band, was playing a secret show in Detroit that same night. She had two hours to grab a stack of her demos of instrumental surf music and rush to the venue, where she scattered the CDs on tables and chairs. But the people in the audience weren’t the ones whose attention she really wanted. Slipping outside, she laid out a path of demos from the band’s tour bus to the side door they used to enter the venue — a yellow brick road of rock music. The second very important conversation was with Mr. White, who called her a couple of weeks later and said that he liked her music, and asked her if she wanted to come to Nashville and record some of her songs with him at his recording company, Third Man Records.“I put the phone down and then I just laid on the ground for a few minutes,” Ms. Jean said. “Like, this is not real. This can’t be real. This doesn’t happen to people.”
“I put the phone down and then I just laid on the ground for a few minutes,” Ms. Jean said. “Like, this is not real. This can’t be real. This doesn’t happen to people. “The fact that she incorporated surf guitar and the low-fi recording of all the instruments (that she played herself) into her songs, while also being from Detroit, not to mention the bouffant hairdo and style, all showed me this was a very unique and talented person worth inviting into the Third Man world,” he [Jack White]  wrote over email. It was the moment all aspiring rockers dream of when they hang up posters of their favorite bands on their bedroom walls. But Nashville can be humbling, even for the most talented amateur musician.
In Music City, music isn’t a hobby, it’s a career. As Ms. Jean put it: “I thought I was awesome in Detroit, and then I moved here.” Ms. Jean dropped out of school and started recording music for Third Man. In Tennessee, she met Ruby Rogers and Shelby Lynn, a pair of musicians with whom she clicked, partly because they shared that most sacred of human connections: similar hairstyles. The women formed a band, the Black Belles, and started recording some of Ms. Jean’s songs. They performed together for three years and gained a decent amount of attention. They put out a record that Mr. White produced and collaborated on songs with the actress Elvira and the late night host Stephen Colbert. “It was hard in a good way, because it inspired me to become better,” Ms. Jean said of that period. “But at the same time, you become a little less confident in yourself. You start to realize, I’m not as great as I thought I was, so now I really need to work.” Over email, Ms. Rogers recalled “rehearsing constantly,” and Ms. Lynn wrote that “The Black Belles was a crash-course in rock ’n’ roll.” “It was an absolute whirlwind of blood, sweat and mascara-drenched tears,” Ms. Lynn said. “We grew up together in those years, and the creative bond we developed, it became almost telepathic and has been unmatched in any other band setting I’ve found myself in. It was high pressure to be sure, and I think that brought out our finest work as musicians.” In 2012, the Black Belles split amicably. Ms. Jean took a couple of years off.
Eventually, in 2014, she put out her first solo album. It was around that time that her relationship with Mr. White evolved into something more serious. “We were just really good friends,” she said. “You have to know that you can be friends for a while before you can date. It wasn’t really a transition. It was more, OK, this is happening. More like a continuation.” During the pandemic, the couple hunkered down at their Nashville home, and according to Ms. Jean “tried to be as creative as possible.” They both worked on their music, and Mr. White helped produce Ms. Jean’s new album. She also worked on various graphic design projects for Third Man as well as her own merchandise. The creativity was so overflowing in their house that it got a little crowded. Ms. Jean decided to convert the pool house into her own music studio so that she and Mr. White wouldn’t be competing for time in his.
She painted the walls hot pink and covered the floors in plush, hot pink carpet. My little pink nightmare,” she said. So far, she said, it hasn’t even really hit her that she’s married. No sooner did they get hitched than Mr. White went off on tour, and she’s mostly been back in Nashville, putting the finishing touches on her new record and rehearsing with her band. “I’ve realized as I get older that I have my own thing. I’m niche,” she said. “This is who I am, and people accept that or they don’t, it doesn’t matter to me.”

Jungkook x y/n (as a famous artist) Pt.3
Tumblr media
sinopsis: You are a popular artist in America, pretty famous, loved and well-known by the general public (actually you were one of the top 10 artists in the world but you are pretty humble and naïve to realize your popularity), one day during one of your fan meets you talk about how much you love BTS, and not only how you wish to meet them and work with them but how Jungkook is one of your celebrity crushes. During the meet you fangirled with other ARMYs in the crowd; video clips of you fangirling and talking about BTS at your meet where posted and reposted all over social media. This obviously broke the internet because you were not only a famous singer but you also were always accepted and loved by ARMY and this made a lot of people happy. Suddenly it felt like everyone wanted you to meet the seven handsome and talented idols and collaborate, but you could only wish, you believed they didn't even know who you were...or so you thought
pairing: reader x Jungkook
genre: fluff, romance, for entertainment purposes
BTS x Fem Reader
Parts: 1 here & 2 here
---
Part: 3 - The Jimmy Fallon Show
A couple of months have passed since your fan meet episode went viral and since BTS saw the video too. A lot has happened since then tbh, you kept working hard, you just put out your 5th studio album which is doing amazing in the charts, it reached no.1 for album of the year and 3 of your songs stand in the first places amongst other artists on the top 100 songs as well. BTS have also been working on music and projects, not a lot of time for you all.
Even though it has been a long time since your ‘fan meet’ episode was aired  the media still brings up your episode highlights where you talk about BTS, it is not another really, it doesn't seem to affect you. Neither you or BTS have openly spoken about this to the general public, to them, it seemed like a cute exchange between you and your fans where they got ‘close and personal’. The only difference now is that your fans and ARMYs now have a ship name for you and Jungkook, and they still wish their ship could sail someday….
Thanks to the success your album has had in the short time it was published, you have been invited to multiple talk-shows to promote your new music and to basically catch up with the media. As an artist the whole publicity thing is important for your team and company. Even though it can be hard to ‘do press’ as a celebrity, you enjoy it and always do your best for your supporters. Your fans and everyone who became a fan of your infamous episode would troll around twitter writing things like ‘will BTS be on this show appearing with y/n?’ ‘AYe y/n watch out, they are going to surprise you with BTS’; but you didn't really have time to see them, only your team was aware. Your days working + rehearsing + promoting don't really give you time to scoop around your social media.
Today on your schedule: The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Tonight you will be performing and having an interview for the show. You love this show so much, you have been invited before,  and you really feel comfortable on set in the company of Jimmy and his team/staff, they are always super nice and welcoming. You haven’t been there for an interview in a while and you are excited. (Even though it went viral, and it was your fantasy, the whole “I WISH I COULD MEET BTS AT A TONIGHT SHOW” was not really on your mind today, probablly because of how hectic your day was. You woke up super early and took a flight on your jet to New York, then you went to rehearsal to rehearse the song you’ll be performing tonight, went to the hotel and took a shower, went to two important business meetings for your record company, barely had time to eat, then went and had hair and makeup done for an afternoon interview for a radio show and finally some rest before you went to the Jimmy Fallon studio)
The Tonight Show starts at 10:00pm but you have to get there earlier to greet Jimmy and the staff, to quickly rehearse your performance, to go over details about the show, get ready, etc. You arrive on set at around 6:00pm in sweatpants, a baggy Ariana Grande merch T-shirt, sneakers and fresh hair from your second shower today. You walk through the door next to your personal bodyguard Lee and Manager Sam, followed by your stylist Meg behind you, you look around to see if you could recognize any familiar faces, The camera crew were setting up their high budget equipment, staff members cleaning, running around and preparing for tonight's live interview. Jimmy comes out from behind a door with casual clothes and messy hair, nothing like his sleek professional look on TV. Smiling he greets you and your team; he takes a step forward and hugs you tightly “Hi y/n it’s so nice to see you, it has been a while we have missed you, ever since your interview was scheduled for this week the staff has been excited to see you again, including me, you are one of our favorite guests to have over i swear” you look at him sweetly with hands on your chest from his hind words (the reason why they loved you so much was because you were different from other celebrities on the show, you were always super polite and nice to the staff and took time out of your schedule to greet everyone and introduce yourself, even though you were one of the biggest stars in the world you humble personality attracted many). “Omg stop Jimmy you are so sweet, I love your show so much it’s always an honor, thanks again for inviting meI wanna say hi to the staff, can I?” You said; Jimmy has been like a mentor to you when it comes to interviews and press, he was one of the first people to believe in you and interview you when you debuted. “Yes of course you go ahead, I’ll talk with your manager while you do so to catch up.” (They were good friends too)
While Jimmy and Sam catch up, and your stylist and bodyguard follow an assistant to put your stuff in the dressing room; you walk around introducing yourself to the staff; you visit the camera crew, the audio booth, the lighting crew, the producers, the PD, the meeting room, even the cafeteria. This helped you also to loosen up and feel more comfortable and confident for the show. After the greeting you quickly rehearsed with your talented backup dancers for the performance to get used to the ‘stage’ and the spacing.
One of the sweet staff members you just met offered to show you to your dressing room where Lee, Sam and Meg were waiting for you. You entered the spacious dressing room and sat at a small couch next to Lee (he was your bodyguard but sometimes even acted like a father/guardian to you, you were thankful you had a close connection with your team) You treated them all, including your dancers, to a mini banquet of food from the cafeteria and chatted about nothing before you had to start getting ready. Sam started getting constant phone calls, as your manager he was constantly busy on the phone, he ignored a couple of them but the caller seemed insistant, Sam saw the caller ID and shot up and ran outside to answer. “Ey no phones on the table mister” you teased as he was halfway out the door, he flipped you off and you back at him and proceeded to finish your snack; “Who would be so insistent, the company handles the calls when Sam has something to to with y/n… this interview has been scheduled for a month now…” Meg, your stylist commented, but you just just shrugged her shoulders as you swallowed the last bite of your sandwich, not really thinking too much about it. You stood up to brush your teeth after finishing eating. (what you failed to notice was Lee making a face to Meg basically telling her to ‘shut up’.... they knew something you didn’t but you didn’t see said interaction at all)
After 20-30 mins Sam came back as if nothing happened, you were now sitting in front of the large vanity mirror and Meg staring at your hair behind you. “Is everything okay Sammy?” You asked, thinking the call could be from a family member or an emergency, judging on the time it took. “No, yes- um it was just a catch up call, apparently the company did not answer their call in my place so they called me directly ignoring the fact that I was here with you.” he spoke. “Ah yeah, well that's good, well we finished our food and cleaned up so the girls (referring to the 2 backup dancers) and I could start getting ready but I left you and Lee some cookies and coffee on the table” you said pointing to the small coffee table in front of the couch that was previously filled with food, Lee, a 6’5 tall man sitting in a tiny couch with a cookie on his right hand and coffee on his left making space for Sam to sit next to him. cute.
You finish getting ready, hair done simple and comfortable for your interview and later performance, light natural makeup letting your natural beauty show off and fancy yet comfortable outfit that allows you to sit and dance comfortably. You felt really pretty and powerful. It was 9:30, only 30 mins before The Tonight Show started. before The live audience was allowed inside the studio you went over your dance quickly to make sure your outfit was safe to dance in, to make sure the music was the right one and to let the camera crew plan out their shots for the dance and interview segments. Once again you bought your head towards the staff and wished them good luck and a good show, you introduced yourself to the live band that accomplies Jimmy for the show as well and went backstage again for the final touch ups and waited for your turn to come out.
----
“.... and now here is your host...Jimmy Fallon'' he was introduced as the audience clapped for him and he walked across the set to his desk. “Hi, everyone, and welcome to THE TONIGHT SHOW!!!” The crowd cheered again for Jimmy. “Normally we have multiple guests on this show and from 10:00 pm to 12:00am we talk to multiple guests but today is a little different, today we have a very very special guest who will be with us. the. full. show!!!” The audience was comforted by a lot of your fans since it was announced you would be the guest tonight they prepared, and as soon as they heard this immediately stood up and cheered knowing it was you he was talking about. “She is one of my favorite artists, she is the sweetest, most talented artist today. Everyone welcome…. y/n'' The crowd went crazy as you came out from behind the curtain. Seeing everyone you bowed down to the audience and waved your hands, then you took Jimmy's hand to help you up the steps to the couch next to his talk show desk and sat down again bowing your head and mouthing ‘thank you’ to the still cheering audience.
“Wow the people love you y/n'' Jimmy said. “Hahaha no, stop, Thank you all, I love you so much I don't deserve you all.” you said blushing a little from the overwhelming support. The interview started normally, Jimmy introduced you properly to the camera and audience, you spoke about yourself and answered the general questions (‘What have you been doing these days?’ ‘Tell us about your album’.... blah blah)
After a couple of questions you did a fun activity with Jimmy where you created a funny sketch similar to the ones on SNL, you followed the lines on the promter and it came out to be a really funny and light activity to interlude the show. Then after a small break you went back to your seats and continued the Q&A.
“It's crazy, y/n’s latest album is the number one album in the country and she also holds the first, second and third spots for the billboard top 100 hits. You even broke a record for this, to being the youngest and first woman to ever achieve this.” Jimmy said as you smiled and looked at the cheering crowd. “Its crazy, I never thought one day I could even hold a place in the top 100, and now I actually hold 3 places plus another 1st place for album of the country, Thank you all so much for supporting me, this would've happened if it wasn't for all of the people who supported my music, Thank you for giving my music a chance.”
“So actually the next billboard award show is tomorrow, and y/n, we heard you are going to be performing.. is that so?” Jimmy smoothly transitioned form question to question, topic from topic. “Yeah I was blessed to not only be nominated for an award but to also be invited to perform for the ceremony, I am so excited, It is an honor, it not my first time performing at the billboard’s but I have so much fun every time, hopefully the audience will like my performance and the other guest performers of the night, I can’t wait.
“What are you performing tomorrow y/n?”, “Shhh it’s a surprise Jimmy, I can give you a little spoiler, I am performing one of my new album’s songs, it is one of my favorite songs on it” You smoothly avoided actually answering what song you would be performing tomorrow. “Mhm okay how about you tell me in secret during the commercial break I have to know…” Jimmy insisted “Sure Jimmy I’ll tell you”. “Okay so guys let's go to a short commercial break, but don’t leave cause when we are back y/n will be performing live, don't you miss it!” Jimmy said and waved with you as the producer called for the commercial break.
After the commercial break you got to perform one of your hit songs next to your back up dancers, you let yourself go to the music and enjoyed the performance; you really got lost in the music and dancing every time you had an audience, you loved this so much. After your performance you received a standing ovation form the people present on set, Jimmy went over from his seat to you, he congratulated and complimented you. He then guided you to your seat and gave you some water; he made some ads/sponsorship bits while you grabbed some air and while Meg retouched your hair and makeup while the cameras weren’t on you.
Jimmy then came back after another small break to proceed with the interview: “So y/n I actually wanted to talk to you about something really big” you made a face at Jimmy’s word choices (you had somewhat of a dirty mind) “Hahahaha, Don't make that face y/n, it's not what you think… God.. what a dirty mind you have; I meant I wanted to talk to you about something that recently happened and I’m sure everyone wants to have an update on'' Jimmy made himself clear. “Hahahaha oh, okay sure, tell me”
“A couple of months ago you went viral on social media after you talked about BTS on one of your episodes, and your fans and ARMYs went crazy, not gonna lie even I got excited” As soon as you heard Jimmy say “BTS'' your face dropped making the audience giggle at your reaction, you started to get anxious. “Hah-, um yeah that happened, I didn't expect for it to become such a big thing tbh Jimmy” you said.
“So in the episode you got asked by one of your fans something about how you would want to meet them or something and you mentioned how you would like to meet then on a talk show… like this one” Jimmy said with a smug expression taking over his face. You quickly spoke before he could say something else “Omg Jimmy stop, I swear if I look behind this couch and BTS is hiding behind it I will have a heart attack, please don't play with me, I’m not ready, stop that''
The crowd and Jimmy laughed at your cute panic. “Don’t worry y/n, no, I swear they are not there” Jimmy treasured. “IDK MAN, I’m gonna look behind the couch….” you dared; “Go ahead y/n” Jimmy fired back; this made you more nervous, you made a ‘I’m tough’ face at Jimmy and moved your body sideways, “If there is someone behind here I will run Jimmy, I. WILL. RUN. I don’t know where or how far but I will run out..” Jimmy and the audience laughed again and stopped as you looked behind the couch….. and…… there behind the couch…… there was…….. nothing. You started laughing as you went back to your original sitting position, the audience looking curiously at you. “Hahahaha ahhhh there is nothing there” whipping some laughing tears off the inner corner of your eyes you looked at Jimmy who was too laughing at you. “I told you y/n! ahahahah”
Jimmy looked at the camera and directed to the audience “For the people who don’t know what we are talking about and/or haven't seen y/n’s latest episode we have some clips for you” You looked at Jimmy and at the crew wanting to refuse due to your embarrassment, you felt exposed. The video played on the screen, the screen was split so that while the episode clips showed on screen your reaction could also be seen at the same time. Only a small trailer was played, which made you confused, you thought they would play the clips where you deeply talk about BTS…
The video stopped and the audience clapped, “Well that's just a small trailer of the full episode if anyone would like to go over and watch it it was pretty fun… I really enjoy ‘y/n’s camera roll’ episodes, I highly recommend” you smiled and appreciated the free proportion but you went anxious again as Jimmy spoke, “But y/n I actually have a small surprise for you, actually BTS saw your episode and reacted to it on camera…” You went stiff…. he said what???? BTS saw your video? they learned who your where?.... wait. THEY SAW THE VIDEO????? THEY SAW YOU FANGIRLING OVER THEM AND THIRSTING OVER JK AND HERD YOUR STUPID FANTASY????
“OMG Jimmy no…. AHHH no….” You said as realization dawned on you and you covered your face with your hands.
“oh y/n yes… and we have the video of their reaction here, for the first time ever, an exclusive for the Tonight Show…. watch the screen y/n'' The screen was again split to show your reaction + the video. You lifted your face from your hands and held on to Jimmy’s hand on the desk, bracing yourself for further embarrassment and probable rejection. The video played:
(BTS reacting to your episode. {the bullet points are your ‘present day’ reactions to BTS reacting to you})
The video started . “Oi, it’s y/n'' Jin immediately said as soon as your face appeared on their screen, “Is this a new episode?” Jimin asked out loud, “Wait what day is it? they normally go up on Friday, did we miss it?” Taehyung spoke.
“OMG no way, they know who I am, omg I’m crying Jimmy” You actually started tearing up and Jimmy squished your hands tighter as he read the subtitles added (you understood Korean).
“Hello everyone welcome to another episode of…. f** I don't even know what we call these videos, jajajaja” “Wait what?... jajajajaja omg guys thank you, I'm so sorry, yeah you heard them, welcome back to y/n’s camera roll, I can’t believe I forgot that, anyway today’s episode is a little different……” the boys chuckle at your genuine personality “hahaha gwiyeoun” (haha cute) Suga added, J-Hope agreeing with him as he gave Suga a piece of the food he was having. Kookie was currently watching the screen not even blinking, he hadn’t taken a bite out of his noodles or a sip out of his banana milk, Jimin noticed and pointed at him looking back at the guys with a silent laugh.
You kept crying and making faces reacting to them every time they spoke
“Hi, y/n, can I ask you another question?” “I saw that you liked an instagram post about BTS a while back uploaded by a fan account and I also saw that you actually follow their personal twitter account. ALSO in your behind the scenes video for your music video shoot you can be seen in the background dancing the Boy with luv choreo. So I wanted to ask if you were an ARMY and if you know them personally? and like should we be expecting a collaboration soon?”
“No way….Omg what she says she hates us” Jimin said. “Imagine if she said she hates us, is this why you guys are making us watch this?” Suga looked  at the staff.
“OMG I could never, NO omg how could I hate them” you commented wiping away your tears and back to squeezing Jimmy’s stretched hand on the desk
“Can we keep watching hyungs…” Jungkook said looking around at the others, a bit desperate to find out what you said next. “Oi, wouldn't you want to know guki…” Jin teased him, wiggling his eyebrows and slapping the back of his head playfully. Before Jungkook could fight back RM reached over them and pressed play, preventing a ‘playful’ fight between the youngest and oldest member to take place.
You froze at the interaction between Jungkook and Jin… but kept watching not wanting to overthink it.
“OMG hahaha I love you so much, what an amazing question, Okay so first off no I don’t know them personally and sadly no plans of collaboration are on sight. Oh wow I have never been asked if I liked BTS before, I’m excited hahaha. Yeah I am an ARMY, I love them so much I am one of their biggest fans, and they are also one of my biggest inspirations when it comes to work ethic and professionalism, listening to them or watching them gives me motivation to keep doing what I love, which is this. anyway I am rambling I should stop; you guys can say y/n stop whenever I start rambling okay? hahaha''
RM stood up with hands on his head; Jin and J-Hope held on to each other with their mouths wide open looking at the screen; V was still sitting in the same spot, frozen, as if he was paused in time along with the now paused screen; Suga stood up with his hands on his mouth bouncing his knees lightly; Jimin reached to RM behind him and stretched his arms out with a ‘Did you hear that?’ expression; Jungkook leaned over the table and pulled the screen closer, he was smiling from ear to ear letting out a small “wow” under his breath, then he replayed your answer to listen to it one more time, rereading the subtitles under the video making sure he did not miss any words.
You chuckled at their individual reactions and resumed your crying at their reactions because you couldn’t believe they knew you and could be so cute towards a video of you
“y/n Okay so, who is your favorite member?” “Well first off, I don't have a favorite member. I really mean it when I say this. I love them all equally and I love them all as a group. I don’t prefer one over the other or like one better.  I really do support them equally. I mean there is nothing wrong with having a bias, as long as you also respect the other members, hope that all made sense lol” Everyone seemed moved by your support towards them and nodded.
Again the boys reacted, they were so surprised they paused again and walked back and forth making sounds of excitement
Jimmy smiled proudly at you and helped you wipe a tear with a tissue
“Y/n so you don’t have a favorite, but do you have a crush on any of them?, like if you could date one of them right now, which one do you pick?” A fan asked. “okay...well...Like I said just to be clear I don't have favorites amongst the group members, but I do have a type…. I consider one of them to be my celebrity crush”......“So in that case, if I had to pick someone that I would date in real life...i would say…. Jungkook”
You put your forehead on Jimmy’s desk, you felt embarrassed, you knew what was coming, the audience was also reacting along and they got super excited at this part. You were scared over what BTS would think/say about this.
The. Guys. Went. Nuts. Jungkook immediately stood up and lifted his hands up in the air as if he had won an award, he paused the video and started smiling like crazy;
A staff member spoke to Jungkook on the video : “How do you feel Jungkook?” He lifted his face from his hands and ran his fingers through his hair, his eyes were glossy and his smile wide. “I-I don't know what to say, I can’t believe it,” he said as he sat down looking  at the pause screen, looking at your still image. His hyungs patted him on the back; Jimin turned his head to the staff as he was rubbing JK’s back with one hand, “You know Jungook has had the biggest crush on y/n for so long now” Jimin told the staff.
you completely froze, you started shaking, Jimmy was looking at you happily, the audience was going crazy, even the crew was invested in the k-drama worthy content. You went numb, you kept looking at the screen frozen.
Jungkook looked up and spoke to the staff: “Yeah I remember listening to her debut song for the longest time without really thinking about who the artist was. When her first studio album broke records I decided to look her up, I watched a video of her talking about the album and her experience as a new artist and I think ever since then I have had a crush on her; she is my ideal type”
Everyone was going crazy in the Tonight Show studio. EVEN Jimmy let go of you and stood up pacing around his desk, no one was expecting this. You came out of your trance as Jimmy shook you and you wiped more tears clouding your vision.
“Why is she your ideal type?” a staff member in the back asked JK. “Ha. um. well  I think my ideal type of girl is someone who is funny and has a bright and cool personality; someone who as soon as they step into a room they immediately light it up; someone who is goofy and isn't afraid to become a joke or mess up; A confident person; someone who isn't too girly or too boyish; someone who likes to learn new  things and from who I can learn new things too; someone who is younger than me; Someone who loves dancing and singing a lot, etc. And y/n is kinda all that and more tbh;
You felt like you were dreaming… Totally forgetting you were on live television. The butterflies in your stomach felt more like birds. your heart pounding out of your chest and body glued to your seat.
The video of you time skipped again to the ‘fantasy’ answer’: “Okay so, my literal fantasy is to one day meet them at a talk show, you know how hosts like to surprise their guests with something/someone they like?, I believe Ellen has done it multiple times where she surprised a guest with their idol or celebrity crush, you know?” The group nodded, invested in your fake scenario “Well i would be invited to like the Jimmy Fallon Show, where he would just randomly surprise me with BTS. Then I would be given the opportunity to introduce myself and tell them how much I love and support them. I would also be able to show them my korean speaking skills, I learned Korean and Spanish back in school and I have never been able to actually use either them, lol, anyway...well after that we would all become really good friends, and we would collaborate and put out one or multiple songs for you guys. I mean that's basically it, I wish I could meet them, and become their friend and write songs with them, even produce songs with Suga or RM if I could''
you cringed at the sound of your voice, you were so embarrassed. The audience, crew and Jimmy found this and your reaction to be so adorable.
“What???? does she speak korean?” / “OMG Jungkook is she speaks korean marry her” / “OMG I wanna meet her now”  / “That's so cute” / “She is so cool”
oMg, even after the video stopped you kept crying and sobbing, it almost felt like you had made it in life, you curled into a ball, you didn't care if you were live or not.
(end of video, camera was back to you and Jimmy only)
“y/n this is amazing, this was my first time watching the video too, how do you feel, hahahaha stop crying this is good y/n” He rubbed your hand and passed you a new tissue from his desk. You cleaned yourself up and accepted a new water bottle from a crew assistant.
“I- I’m at a loss for words Jimmy, I cannot even process it; I love them so much hahaha” You sniffed and looked at Jimmy innocently. “By the way I am so sorry for crying like this, ew I’m a mess right now, I so sorry for anyone watching”
“No no, you are good, your fans love you and love to see the real you; right guys?” Jimmy said looking at the crowd and once again they all cheered for you, this made you happy and you smiled again. “Thank You all so much, thank you to anyone involved in the making of this reaction video and this segment of the show AND FOR WHOEVER ADDED THE SUBTITLES FOR THE STUDIO hahaha, I am so happy, I want to keep crying but I will compose myself for now and once I go home cry some more hahaha”
“Y/N so obviously you are an ARMY, would you mind playing a small game with me?...” You nodded at Jimmy. “Okay so after the break we will be back  with y/n, and she will prove how big of an ARMY she actually is…”
Another commercial break was called, Meg again came over and cleaned you up, she fixed your hair and makeup and then made you change into some sneakers (you performed in heels), fresh sweatpants and a shirt that compliment your figure. Your manager told you that for the next segment you needed comfy clothes. You had so much in your mind right now you didn’t even question it.
“Okayyy and we are back everybody, so right now as you can see y/n has changed into a more sporty outfit, right y/n?” you looked at him and at the camera and answered back. “Yeah, i’m in my natural form now” you said as you modeled your comfy wear
“So today I will put your BTS knowledge to the test, I will play a snippet of a BTS song, to your right you have two buttons ‘dance button’ or ‘sing’ button; you can either dance to the part being played when you hit the dance button or keep singing the song if your hit the ‘sing’ button.” Jimmy challenged you as he explained the next activity, to the left of you a small table with both buttons and a mic was set up, you accepted and started the challenge; the game went like this; Dynamite, dance; Mic Drop, dance; No more dream, dance; Daechwita, sing/rap; the crowd was super hyped and Jimmy was loving your energy and the way you executed the songs perfectly, suddenly you recognized Euphoria being played, you clicked the sing button and you started to complete the lyrics as the music was switched to ‘karaoke mode’… you started to sing and suddenly you heard a voice behind you singing with you, and you couldn’t even turn around to prove yourself you were not mistaken, you knew that voice too well, the live audience was losing it, the crew looked excited, you went numb, you looked back and it seemed like a joke, a complete dream…..
The seven guys were coming out from behind the curtain, being led by Jungkook, he was singing the bridge of the song, mic in hand and just looking at you. Your knees gave out and you curled on your knees as you cried on your knees, ‘there is no way’, you could even begin to process what was going on, The boys were a little shy and stayed behind you as Jimmy lifted you from the floor and made you look at them.....

Movies I watched in July
Once again I’m doing my monthly round-up of movies I’ve watched. This was a good month for the cinema getting back on track and seeing new releases including the new M. Night movie, Old and James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. Pretty sure Marvel put out a new movie also. I’m hoping that this list can help in guiding a decision about what to watch (or what to avoid) and introduce people to movies they may otherwise not have heard of or bothered to see. These short reviews are my own subjective opinions on each individual movie and maybe a more informal approach to movie criticism can help include others who are just passing through. Here is every film I watched from the 1st to the 31st of July.
Bridesmaids (2011) - 4/10
Off to a good start. I won’t say Bridesmaids is a terrible movie but I don’t think I’m exactly the target audience. As far as I know, this is a beloved comedy but I just can’t get on board with all the boring, juvenile humour; with Maya Rudolph shitting in the street, with Rose Byrne and Kristen Wiig trying to one-up each other at a toast that went on forever, with Melissa McCarthy shitting in a sink… the conflict is so done to death and makes the movie feel unspecial. I do understand the appeal of the film, especially for women in that before this movie the likelihood of seeing something like this, where women play up the more crass and gross side of comedy, was probably few and far between. But the story is very tired and while I did appreciate some moments, namely a couple of decent jokes and some of the more intimate scenes, for the most part it felt like they wanted to corner a more quiet type of line delivery in a way that was supposed to be understated but very funny so as to not rely on over the top body language or musical cues, and it ended up being super dull.
Tumblr media
Spectre (2015) - 7/10
As far as I can tell, a lot of people don’t like this instalment of the James Bond franchise… but I really enjoyed it! I’ve really taken a shine to these Daniel Craig-era Bond movies and while I can’t say any of them are the most amazing thing, I have a lot of fun with them. The biggest problem I have with Spectre is the villain being utterly pointless and uninteresting in basically every way. The idea of every villain Bond has fought before being tied to this one organisation controlled by this one guy is ridiculous, and what makes it worse is that the villain is barely in it! There’s so much that doesn’t come together in this but as it goes, I still had a really good time. Daniel Craig holds the whole thing together; he is excellent as 007 and the main reason I’m up for each of these movies is because of him. Sam Mendes directs again after the previous instalment and for what it’s worth I do think he does a good job with some of the action set pieces and the locations. I’m so ready for No Time To Die.
Shazam (2019) - 7/10
Shazam is a genuinely fun superhero movie that doesn’t take itself seriously at all. I was having a great time throughout and while it could conform to some of the same tropes we’re used to with these kinds of movies, it still remained playful and used the character of Shazam to his fullest potential in a way that showed an understanding of just how silly the idea of a kid who can turn into an adult and shoot lightning out of his hands is.
High School Musical (2006) - 6/10
So as you may or may not know, I co-host a podcast: The Sunday Movie Marathon. It’s a film podcast and every week I get together with my other co-hosts and watch movies. For episode 38, we watched the High School Musical trilogy. This first movie blew me away. I was really surprised with just how much fun I had, and if you want to hear more of my thoughts on the film, please listen to episode 38 of the podcast.
High School Musical 2 (2007) - 4/10
We then jumped into the second and while it’s certainly not as good as its predecessor, there are still some brilliant songs that manage to top the last movie. Again, more of what I have to say can be heard on episode 38 of the podcast.
Tumblr media
High School Musical 3: Senior Year (2008) - 3/10
Senior Year was pretty hard to get through. I don’t remember it being as bad as it was, but then I didn’t really remember it anyway. It did however have one redeeming quality, which you can discover on episode 38 of the podcast.
The Piano Teacher (2001) - 9/10
What the fuuuckkkk. The Piano Teacher is horrendously affecting and I was so upset when it ended, maybe not because it’s not what I wanted but because it’s just so fucking dour and unrelenting. This is the second Haneke movie I’ve seen (after the original Funny Games) and I’m so impressed with how well executed it is. Following a woman who teaches piano, we get a glimpse into the life she lives, how sheltered she is from living with her mother at an age where you’d reasonably expect a person to be living alone or with a partner or friends (even going so far as to be sleeping in the same bed as her), and how repressed she is sexually. It’s clear she’s never experienced any kind of sexual interaction or romantic love with another person, so she goes out of her way to take control and make that happen. The upsetting nature of it comes from just what she does in pursuit of it or as a result of her repression, and what is done to her. It is by no means a movie to recommend to your parents but The Piano Teacher offers so much in terms of the ideas it presents (and I’ll admit there seems to be a lot more going on than I think I picked up on a first go round) about women in modern society, and about the portrayal of sex and expectations of people when it comes to how that is represented in a person’s character depending on their gender. I really enjoyed this movie but it is not for the faint of heart.
Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure (2011) - 1/10
My podcast co-hosts decided it’d be a right laugh to add Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure to this episode and that might have been a fun idea for them because they got to watch it together, but I was just watching it alone. Just a 24-year-old man watching Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure alone and having a miserable time, I might add. But for a short and sweet ramble on what we all thought, please listen to episode 38 of The Sunday Movie Marathon podcast.
Dr. No (1962) - 6/10
A lot of very iffy parts of this movie. A lot of discomfort arising from how black people are portrayed that really didn’t sit right with me. As far as a Bond movie goes, this first instalment in the series is one I’ve seen before and it’s not wholly engaging but it plants the seeds for the rest, with Sean Connery breathing life into the role and making an otherwise lacklustre plot bearable.
Tumblr media
Black Widow (2021) - 6/10
I think probably the best part about Black Widow is the experience I had while watching it. It was great being back in the cinema with a couple of friends in a packed theatre. The energy was high and I’m sure for a lot of people, this is the first time they’d been to the cinema since Endgame. For what it’s worth, I did have a lot of fun with Black Widow and I’ve explained more of what I thought about the movie in episode 39 of the podcast.
The Climb (2020) - 10/10
The Climb was added to Now TV recently and I already knew I loved it, having seen it in an empty cinema theatre last year, which I had an absolute blast with. The Climb details the years of a rocky friendship told over scenes filmed as one-shots. Not only is the presentation something to gawk at, but the performances by the two leads playing these friends with a terrifically dysfunctional dynamic is truly captivating. They’re both trying to figure out their own lives and where one can come across as being rather selfish, the opposite is true in his counterpart, whom everyone loves. This is a truly funny and heartwarming movie with a lot to say about how we choose to live our lives and who we choose to be with. It’s a shame the distributors of The Climb didn’t do a very good job because if not for it being available on Now TV, it would be near impossible to watch without forking out more money than is necessary to purchase a film.
From Russia With Love (1963) - 5/10
The second Bond movie. I thought perhaps I’d change my mind on it with another watch, having seen it for the first time maybe a year ago. But no, it’s still largely boring and it treats women like absolute garbage. From Russia With Love is one of those movies I forget as I watch it, and I was trying very hard (in the middle of the day!) not to fall asleep.
The Good, The Bart, and The Loki (2021) - 1/10
I don't usually talk about the short films I watch but for this I'll make an exception. As we all should know, Disney owns The Simpsons now, through their acquisition of Fox, so, coupled with another of their properties, that being Marvel, they decided to make a six-minute animated film wherein Marvel’s Loki is stranded in Springfield. This felt as though it was a minute long due to the horrendously jarring pacing; it is a movie that feels adamant that it needs to exist, while trying as hard as it can to be over as soon as possible. It serves only to stare the audience directly in the face and say “look, characters from The Simpsons are dressed as Avengers”, shit out three credit scenes, then end before you’ve even processed the atrocity you just bore witness to.

Russian Ark (2002) - 8/10
For this next episode of the podcast, we watched a few Russian movies, starting with Russian Ark, a film shot completely in one take as the camera moves about a luxurious museum in a first-person perspective as this main character watches what is happening around him, seeing people moving about the place but unable to interact with them, guided only by another man who seems to be just slightly out of his own perception of reality. This is a tremendous feat in filmmaking and more can be heard about what I have to say in episode 39 of The Sunday Movie Marathon podcast.
Ivan’s Childhood (1962) - 7/10
For my own pick of Russian movies to discuss on the podcast, I chose the debut feature from one of my favourite directors, Andrei Tarkovsky. It’s amazing that while this is not his best film by far, Ivan’s Childhood is still such a stellar debut, jumping around in its timeline as it details a child’s experience in the second world war. Again, I do go into more depth in episode 39 of the podcast, so be sure to check that out.
Outlaw (2019) - 1/10
The third movie chosen for this marathon is apparently the fourth Russian LGBTQ+ movie ever made. I’m unsure of the ultimate goal of this movie but what seems to be clear is that it hates the LGBTQ+ community. This is perhaps the worst film we’ve discussed on the podcast to date, so listen to episode 39 to understand exactly why it’s such trash.
Almost Famous (2000) - 7/10
I too love heavy music and also studied journalism so it stands to reason that a movie about a teenager who makes his way onto a band tour, following them through America and interviewing them as they hang out and play shows is going to be a premise that resonates with me. This certainly did. I enjoyed Almost Famous a lot; this kid is living the dream and I was so along for the ride, seeing a lot of myself in what was being portrayed. That said, the story itself is at times a bit by the numbers and I really would’ve been more on board if the visual component was more interesting. For what it is, technically it’s fine enough but nothing in that department ever jumped out at me.
Tumblr media
Minari (2021) - 8/10
It’s crazy that this didn’t get a theatrical run where I live in the UK. It feels as though I complain about film distribution all the time but I really don’t understand the process by which a movie gets no cinematic release and yet, months later will pop up on the front shelf of hmv, taking pride of place. But of course I got the blu-ray straight away. Minari has a lot to say about the immigrant experience, specifically in America as a family comes over from Korea and tries to start a business and make something of themselves. You get to see a lot of what you might not think twice about when you think about immigration: the hardship of coming from a place where you know everyone to somewhere rural and sparsely populated, having to make friends with locals and integrate within the community; the strain it can put on a family and on a marriage where this idea is presented about the importance of making it on your own in order to live and not just survive, while also taking into account why you’re doing it in the first place and the value you place on being part of a family that you decided to make because that was more important than money, than economy, than proving you were good enough to make it in a place that gave you very little advantage from the offset. This concept of the promised land, of the American dream is a construct. There are times when it’s not pretty, when you have no running water, or you’re in debt, or a family member is dying and it just feels like you’ve been dealt as bad a hand as you can get. But it is better to know you’re not facing all that alone.
Roma (2018) - 10/10
This was my recommendation for the podcast episode on Alfonso Cuarón movies. Roma is as beautiful as it is heart-wrenching and I would recommend listening to episode 40 of the podcast to find out more about my thoughts.
An American Werewolf In London (1981) - 8/10
In all fairness, London is enough to make anyone a little crazy at the best of times. An American Werewolf in London showcases some fantastically grotesque effects, akin to something like Carpenter’s The Thing, in showing the dead brought back to life and a horrifically gory transformation scene. Although the film is from the perspective of an American protagonist, directed also by an American, the depiction of British culture and climate is something I’ve not seen many films pull off quite so well, and I was pleasantly surprised at the more comedic tone the film has overall, which is something that works more in its favour than straight horror would.
The Party’s Just Beginning (2018) - 6/10
Karen Gillan’s directorial debut is… pretty good! There are a lot of ideas I like in this movie: a woman living life and through convenient circumstances, is confronted with death in many ways. Gillan obviously knows her homeland as well as she can, imbuing the whole thing with an intensely Scottish vibe (though maybe not in the same vein as something like Trainspotting) that makes it a bit more unique than a more run of the mill movie of this ilk, backed up in no small part by her own main performance. The plot itself is no great diversion from the kind of story I’m used to with these smaller movies and for something that’s trying to include messaging about transgender issues and suicide, it probably could have been handled better or done in a different way.

Solaris (1972) - 9/10
Another Tarkovsky joint, one I thought I’d revisit to see if there was indeed more to get out of it a second time. Well, it’s no surprise that yes, there was certainly more to get out of it. Solaris is a crazy trip of a movie and I would liken it to Kubrick’s 2001 in terms of how grand the scale of it feels. Yet this is a film that comes across as deeply personal, choosing to focus on a specific character as he goes to a space station to help those on board who are experiencing some kind of emotional crises, only to feel the effects of the planet, Solaris invading his own mind as it has the crew. To many, I can see this lengthy Russian sci-fi being a tad slow but my personal experience is one of deep engagement. Solaris pulls its viewer in a lot of different directions and it is always doing something unexpected in terms of where its narrative goes. There’s a lot to think about with the movie and thankfully it’s no chore to watch again.
Y Tu Mamá También (2001) - 9/10
Another recommendation for the podcast episode on Alfonso Cuarón movies. This is a very relaxed experience, following three young people as they go on a road trip, visit different places and have sex. Listen to episode 40 of The Sunday Movie Marathon podcast for more of my thoughts.
Children of Men (2006) - 10/10
My favourite Cuarón movie, one that never stops being tense as its characters are constantly moving towards the end goal. Set in a future where humans are infertile, the oldest living person is 18, and London is the last city in the world that’s still keeping it together, somewhat. This is masterclass filmmaking. Listen to episode 40 of the podcast for more insights.
Minority Report (2002) - 5/10
I’m really not the biggest fan of Spielberg… Minority Report is an interesting movie in terms of its concept of stopping crimes before they happen by way of prediction, but I just didn’t connect with the heart of it. The colouring is way too overexposed in a way that’s supposed to be eliciting a futuristic vibe but instead feels so early-2000’s in the worst way. My biggest problem with Minority Report is just how long it is, clocking in at two hours and twenty-five minutes which allows for a lot of meandering, all while never quite developing characters enough for you to care about.
Tumblr media
Caché (2005) - 9/10
Oh god! Another Michael Haneke movie! Here we see a couple periodically sent video tapes featuring hours of footage of the outside of their house. The anxiety ratchets up and the mystery gets deeper with every minute. There’s always at least one moment in any of his films that have so far made me realise just how out of my depth I am. Caché is no exception, and I won’t spoil anything here because I think it’s better just to watch the movie and see for yourself. He is a director that wants the audience to know something and that something is never what is explicitly shown at face value; it is pressed into the fabric of the film - plainly evident, yet hidden. Caché is so stupidly clever in displaying its themes and messaging - making reference to the Siene Massacre of 1961 as well as a deeper study of colonialism - and there’s no way to change a single detail of it without risking the Jenga tower crumbling to the ground. It all works in tandem. It is passion and fury and haunting.
Coco (2017) - 7/10
Pixar had a string of around seven forgettable movies before this point so thankfully Coco emerged to show the company still had something good in them. Coco deals a lot with themes of death and legacy, remembering those who are gone in order to preserve them and while its plotting is quite basic and there are certainly moments that either drag or cannot escape the same Pixar formula, most of what the movie has to offer is a lot of fun, with creative, colourful animation and emotional beats that resonate the way they’re supposed to.
Incredibles 2 (2018) - 5/10
Oh, they almost had it! There's a lot here that could have been explored in far more interesting ways. Setting Incredibles 2 directly after the events of the first movie was not a good idea. If it had taken place five or ten years after, the characters could have been in different places in life and it would feel as though they'd actually changed and developed. But instead of trying to be a film that actually cares about its characters and the journeys they go on, a lot of the film is wrestling with the idea that Bob isn't supportive of his wife and Jack-Jack has to fight a raccoon… They have to shoehorn in a villain that in no way compares to the genius of the original. The ending of the original introduces another antagonist that gets wrapped up within this film's first ten minutes, except they don't catch him and he's never mentioned again. It's a real shame because the animation is fantastic and the acting is superb and there are great ideas sprinkled throughout. It just doesn't come together.
Toy Story 4 (2019) - 6/10
I was rather reluctant to watch Toy Story 4 because from the get-go I’m not really here for sequels being made just for the sake of it. Everyone loves Toy Story and making another one is a sure fire way to make money. This is the first time I’ve seen Toy Story 4 and for what it’s worth, I did enjoy it. The animation is immaculate and that alone feels like a huge flex from Pixar who tend to step up the game when it comes to animation in film, despite not having the best track record for films generally at this point. While it was nice to see these characters again, I found a lot of them to be side-lined (namely Buzz) in favour of a story that focuses mainly or entirely on Woody, who I just don’t like as much as in the previous movies. Generally the movie is good and decent enough but there’s no real antagonist and the plot is quite loose… it doesn’t feel as though it needed to be made from a story point of view.
Tumblr media
Onward (2020) - 6/10
And with that I have seen every Pixar movie. And Onward is a fine one to go out on. While I don’t think it compares to the likes of earlier Pixar it’s still pretty fun. Or maybe I’m just a sucker for a medieval setting filled with bright colours and magic! Speaking of which, the animation was super and the medieval quest element is something that hooked me with the film. Again, plot-wise it does feel very familiar and I don’t know, maybe I’m past the point now of expecting Pixar to mix it up where their formula for story-telling is concerned but the movie is quite predictable. Nonetheless, while I’m not rushing back to see Onward I would hardly turn it off or refuse if someone wanted to watch it.
Old (2021) - 3/10
Oh boy! New M. Night movie dropped and my word, was it fun! For more of my thoughts on this… masterpiece (?) of a movie, please direct your attention to episode 41 of The Sunday Movie Marathon podcast.
T2 Trainspotting (2017) - 5/10
Trainspotting is perhaps one of my favourite movies and I had never bothered with the sequel, 20 years on, because the ending of that first movie is so conclusive. T2 felt more an excuse for these guys to get together again and in that, I probably would have preferred a couple of pictures on Twitter of the main cast and director, Danny Boyle having dinner or something. This is a fine movie - very arty in its presentation but meandering and dull in its story that doesn’t offer much in the way of proof that it had to exist.
Taste of Cherry (1997) - 9/10
What makes life worth living? This is a central question and theme of Taste of Cherry, and one that leaves such interpretation not only up to its central character but to the viewer as well. This film got me thinking about times in my life when I truly have had no answer to hard questions. Because it’s hard to convince people of things they are so adamantly against and harder still to rationalise what you believe if you’re not even entirely sure why you believe it in the first place. We are all of us alive and in recognising that, does that make it precious? And if indeed living is not a happy thing, why then should we fight so hard to preserve it? I felt upset as I watched this movie because I’ve been asked these kinds of questions before and it makes me feel stupid when I’m unable to answer. But the only real answer I can give is, everything. And if you can’t see the point then you’re not looking hard enough. Taste of Cherry is beautiful in its exploration of these topics and in its overall presentation, offering some of the best visuals in any movie I’ve seen - fitting for a feature with so much to say about the beauty of life - and an ending that as much pulls the rug out from under you as it does pull you out of the dark and make you realise just how lonely you’ve felt.
Tumblr media
Bones (2001) - 2/10
Snoop Dogg is Jimmy Bones! This film is super funny but I’m not sure it’s trying to be and I really didn’t love it overall. But I do talk more in depth about it in episode 41 of the podcast.
The Duchess (2008) - 5/10
Another recommendation for the podcast. The Duchess was pretty much exactly what I thought it was going to be and there’s a lot to like about it but generally it’s a bit sparse. For more chat on the movie, listen to episode 41 of the podcast.
The Man With One Red Shoe (1985) - 1/10
This was another one for the podcast and man, was it awful. We had to watch it at 1.5x speed towards the end because it just wasn’t getting finished otherwise. To find out more, make sure to listen to episode 41 of the podcast.
The Emperor’s New Groove (2000) - 7/10
Pull the lever, Kronk! Haha! Slays me. I do quite miss this era of Disney, where the animation was hand-drawn and the stories were actually compelling and funny. The Emperor’s New Groove is vibrant, it’s got great characters and memorable moments that will forever be ingrained in the memory of culture. All in all, it’s just a solid flick that doesn’t waste time, developing the standard fall from glory type of arc but smoothly and in an entertaining way.
The Suicide Squad (2021) - 8/10
Oh, bloody hell! They actually made a good one! The Suicide Squad is not only better than the ‘Suicide Squad’ of 2016 in every way, it’s a genuinely great film! This time, James Gunn (director of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy movies) is at the helm and it seems clear that Warner Bros. basically let him do what he wanted with the movie, as it doesn’t seem to bog itself down with the restrictions of a more family-friendly rating. The result of this is a far cleaner, colourful film with a clearer vision that takes from early Vietnam movies and uses that style to craft a superhero/villain movie that differentiates itself among the copious amount of existing films of the genre.      The Suicide Squad wastes very little time, introducing fun, crazy characters we’ve not seen on the big screen before and isn’t worried about killing a whole bunch of them, with standouts being Elba’s Bloodsport, Melchior’s Ratcatcher 2, Stallone’s King Shark (expertly rendered with fantastic visual effects), and Robbie’s returning interpretation of Harley Quinn.      A lot of Gunn’s trademark sense of humour is laced throughout and more often than not, it hits. The audience at the cinema were truly loving this movie and I’ll admit, I was right there with them. This mix of the gritty, gory and absurd is not something that should work as well as it does but the basic premise of the film is already so silly (and boy, do they know it) that it just works! Certainly one of the best DC movies since The Dark Knight and one I’d be more than happy to watch again. This is what the modern comic book movie should be: just balls to the wall fun!

Tumblr media
commissioned by @xaki
A/N: no, the fic has nothing to do with the song it just so happens that it fits in the most literal sense lmao much thanks to xaki who gave me my first commission and my friend for helping me out when my brain was going all sorts of illogical directions uwu
Pairing: Kuroo Tetsurou x f!reader
Description: You saw Kuroo Tetsurou once every week, where you tried your best to not let the fact that he was your high school crush distract you too much.
Warning: unprotected sex, spanking, dirty talk, slight degradation
Word count: 5052
-
You saw Kuroo Tetsurou once every week, during the single Wednesday morning lecture you shared.
You had allowed yourself the luxury of stealing a few glances his way during that one occasion, but never do more than just looking from afar.
Actually, it was ironic that you had gotten to the point of limiting yourself from even looking at him when there was a time you would see him nearly every day.
Getting into the same high school was a pure coincidence, but you had also noticed early on that no matter where he was, your gaze was following his figure before you even realised it. Who could blame you, really. Who wouldn’t want to spare even just a few more seconds looking at the boy who was taller than the rest of his peers even in his first year, only growing more and more breathtaking as he ditched the boyishness and slowly gained the edge on his face and the hint of maturity in his eyes.
You were far from being the only one that harboured a bit of a schoolgirl crush on the eventual volleyball club captain. In the few years where you shared the same class, you had witnessed him being called out of the classroom by blushing pupils more times than you could count. It always brought a bitter taste to your mouth but what could you do about it? At least they had the guts to confess.
You liked to believe that it was not a cowardly move for you to hide your affections all throughout your high school years. It was just that as early as you had noticed your budding feelings, you also realised that you two belong with two seperate groups of people with very different interests, and the chances that he would opt for you was slimmer than slim. So you never did much to try and win him over, maintaining a friendly distance where you only interact in class and nothing outside of it.
At least it could be a nice memory to look back on when you were way past the age to be conflicted over things like this.
You were just as shocked as any other person when you learned that he did not go the pro-athlete route everyone thought he would go, nearly as shocked when you walked into your first lecture of the semester to see him sitting right at the very front.
He seemed to have noticed you too, giving you a slight nod after his eyes widened. You returned the polite gesture, before heading straight to the very back of the lecture hall without a hint of hesitation.
You could deal with one more semester of friendly distance. Couldn’t be that hard, right?
-
It was Wednesday morning again, and you sinked into the seat at the very back of the lecture hall you tactfully occupied with a yawn.
It was from pure bad luck that you managed to register the one 8:30 lecture available in the course. Everywhere around you, people were either half asleep or laid down on the table at the very least. From the corner of your eye, you even spotted someone catching up on the latest episodes of the new tv series that just aired with subtitles on.
You sighed, leaning your jaw on your palm. You wanted to say that this was a bit too much even for a lecture but who were you to judge when your soul was starting to escape your body to somewhere more interesting than the lecture hall anyway.
The amount of people who were actually paying attention to the lecture could probably be counted with one hand, let along the ones that seemed to be genuinely enjoying it. You thought to yourself, your glances floating to the boy who blocked even more of your view with his roaster head on top of his existing height.
He was probably the only one who still had the strength to chuckle when the lecturer tried to liven up the dying atmosphere with unfunny gags.
“...for the upcoming event, students who volunteered as committee members would receive bonus marks based on their performance,” you perked up at the distant call of ‘bonus score’ from far away, “the form will be placed by the door, Please fill in your name before you leave if you are interested.”
Your mind was occupied by numbers and calculations of your gpa for the rest of your class, even as you lined up mindlessly behind your other classmates after the lecture was dismissed. Another thing about morning lessons was that the amount of effort you were willing to put in was also diminished by the limits on your mind and soul, meaning that any chance at a higher grade was worth trying. You had decided that free labour in exchange for that good grade was a decent enough bargain.
“Hey.”
You snapped out of your trance when it was your turn at the form only to feel your heart skipping a beat when you looked up to see the familiar handsome face you stared at as your recharge every morning.
You blinked, trying hard to maintain a calm front even though your mind went haywired at the rare direct interaction you had with Kuroo.
“Do you need the pen?” he asked, holding out the thin ball pen he was gripping in his hand to you.
“Oh,” your eyes widened, putting on a polite smile as you took it from him, “oh yes. Um, thank you.”
It was only a while later when you put down your name right below his that it finally hit you that you two had signed up for the same event. It took even longer for you to realise that the strange tingle you felt at the back of your hand was from his fingertips brushing past yours as he let go of the pen, but by then he was gone and it would be a few days later when you saw him again.
-
You now see Kuroo Tetsurou two times every week. Once during the dreadful morning lecture on Wednesday and on Friday evening where you were stuck in the committee meeting together.
But unlike the stolen glances on Wednesday, you were forced to acknowledge Kuroo as more than just a distant being you were merely acquaintances with in those few hours.
It was very inconvenient for you, considering how each time you felt smaller and smaller under his concentrated gaze as he listened to your input on whatever topic of discussion it was. In fact, you felt rather resentful that you couldn’t quite stand as firm as you did on your stance that you wanted to keep what was clear to be a admiration from being known under your own free will instead of a lack of self-assurance.
You had no choice but to be reminded that he was smart and brilliant on top of just being good-looking. He always knew what to say when the rest of the room was stuck, moving the agenda forward with each valuable input. He was easy to work with, reliable and always efficient. You found that you genuinely liked working with him, crush or not. He listened intently to what other people had to say and never said anything less than constructive.
Worst of all, you were starting to have the illusion that he had started paying more attention to you too. When you looked around the room as you were about to speak up each time, you would always lock your eyes with him at some point, even before you started talking like he already anticipated that you would have something to say.
Maybe it was a mistake, you thought to yourself as you stared outside the pitch black windows of the bus that was rocking steadily, feeling your mind drifting away after using up all your energy in the meeting, maybe those few bonus marks were not worth all this inner conflict.
“Hi, um,” you looked to the side, your mind going blank like you just got caught doing something guilty when you saw the exact person you were thinking about standing by. You cursed the uncontrollable heat that raised on your face, “can I sit here?”
It wasn’t like you could say no. “Sure,” you said as you picked up your bag to clear out the seat for him, flashing a cordial smile of someone who did not have a reason to be nervous when you could already feel the beating in your chest speeding up, “of course.”
“Thanks,” he said with a relieved sigh, throwing himself on the empty chair with a soft thump. You tried to pretend that you did not secretly really care about how close he was to you now, looking back out of the window again. Kuroo looked at you, pondering if he should say something first.
“So…”
“Hm?” you turned around to face him at the dragged out note of his voice.
“Have you gone back to Nekoma after graduation?”
You sighed and gave a light shake of your head, "No. Just surviving college is hard enough, who has time to think about going back?”
You tried to dismiss the knot in your stomach when he replied with a light chuckle and the corner of your lips curling up against your will when he leaned back. “Makes sense," he said, running his hand through his unruly hair before swiftly carrying on to ask you about what you were up to now.
It would have been easier if it was awkward or uncomfortable but sadly, Kuroo was also very easy to talk to and by the time you regained your senses, you were already at the door of your apartment with him walking you there the whole way after getting off the bus at the same stop.
Next Friday, he came up to you with a grinning face when you packed up your stuff after the meeting. “We go the same direction, right?” he had said, walking next to you casually as you headed out the meeting room. He started the conversation before you could say anything, and like last time, he walked you back to your apartment, claiming that he lived nearby anyways.
You saw him twice every week. Once during the morning lecture that was starting to feel less painful to endure and the Friday committee meeting, where he naturally walked you home without fail each week. At some point, he started saving you the seat next to him before each meeting and there was less and less of a reason for you to not take it when he was already leaving with you anyways. All of the above had reminded you once again why you were so hellbent on staying away from him in the first place.
He was far too easy to like, even more so now that you were somewhat friends by the end of the series of meetings.
-
The voice of your instructor was distant as you stared at the clock, the sound of Kuroo’s pencil tapping against the table keeping you in touch with what was going on. It was the last meeting you had to attend and quite frankly there was nothing interesting going on at this point. You glanced to the side, before pulling out your phone that has been buzzing in your pocket since the meeting started.
You tried to conceal the irritation rising in your chest as you looked at the glowing screen underneath the table. Your old friends had been bombing you with questions ever since they learnt that after years of looking on, you somehow had a leaping development with your crush on accident after graduation. It was a mistake on your part, given how the topic of their heated discussion was sitting right next to you.
“(y/l/n)?”
The sudden mention of your name startled you, and you threw your phone down almost a bit too hard. “Yes?”
“Can you help hand these out?”
You let out a relieved sigh that you were not being called out for not paying attention as you stood up, pushing the conversation that was no doubt still ongoing in your group chat to the back of your head. “Of course.”
Kuroo watched as you got out, taking the stack of minutes from the instructor. After today, he would go back to only seeing you when you walked into the morning lecture hall. He felt the nerves building in his stomach, wondering if he should bear his teeth and threw his shot in changing that.
‘So you’re just going to do nothing?’
The screen of your phone that was laying on the table lit up as the speech bubble appeared. His curiosity got the better of him when the next message popped in before he could look away.
‘You have liked Kuroo for years and you’re just going to let this chance slip?’
He froze in place when he read his own name. You liked him? His eyes flicked to you, his heart in his throat at the realisation that he had just learnt something he was not supposed to know.
But despite the slight guilt of overstepping his boundaries, it took all the fiber in his body to stop himself from grinning ear to ear when you returned to your seat next to him.
“What?” you asked with an amused quirk of your eyebrows at how stiffly he was sitting.
“Nothing,” Kuroo replied, feeling the muscle around his mouth going sore as he bit the inside of his cheeks, “nothing.”
The ride home felt so much longer with him next to you, knowing that this was to be the last. He did not say anything even as you got off, only walking in silence like he was deep in thought. You wondered what it was that made him so quiet today, he was usually the more chatty one out of you two.
Kuroo felt the tension building up in his head as you got closer and closer to your door.
“Can I tell you something?”
You snapped around, your hand on the handle of your doorknob when he suddenly spoke up for the first time since you left the meeting that day. “Yeah?”
“My place is at the opposite side of the neighbourhood.”
“What?” your voice came out as a whisper. Your breath hitch at the back of your throat when he took one step closer to you before leaning down. His face was right in front of yours, his defined features dangerously close to you.
“I said,” you could feel his breath fanning on your face as he spoke and the pounding in your ear was thundering as you held your breath, “I’m only here because I want to be around you.”
Kuroo watched intently as your eyes widened, your jaw clenching as you gulped. His gaze flickered between your eyes and your lips, almost like he was waiting for you to show him any hint of rejection before he made the irreversible move.
When your hand slowly crept onto his shoulder and stayed there, he latched onto you. You were taken back by his force, his tongue evading your mouth at your moment of lowered alert. His kiss was demanding, stealing away the oxygen in your lungs bit by bit as he held you close.
You were panting when he pulled away after his initial outburst, your pupils dilated as your lips swollen up. You paused, before gathering the courage that had surged in your chest.
“Do you want to come in?”
Kuroo did not waste another second when the door clicked, his hand getting rougher now that you were within the privacy of your home. Your arms hung around his neck as you desperately held yourself up, your toes barely touching the floor as he demandingly kissed down the side of your neck. He lost patience at your struggling, lifting you up with his arm under your hips before pulling you down onto him with a stumbling step to the cramped couch.
“Help me strip.” He whispered in your ear, adjusting your position on his lap as he brought your hand to the opened collar of his shirt. You gulped when he gave an encouraging knead on your upper thigh, far too consumed by the want of seeing more of him to feel bashful by his bold request.
His gaze burned on your skin as he stared at you, not moving away even for a second while you tear apart the row of buttons to reveal more and more of his toned body. You felt like your fingers were not listening to your commands, a clumsy stiffness in your joints as he unhooked each button. The subconscious way you darted your tongue out to wet your lips at the rise and fall of his chest did not go unnoticed under his attentive stare, his much larger hands guiding you to palm his tend over the firm material of his jeans as your finger grazed past the cold metal of the zipper.
Kuroo’s stomach tensed up when you pulled down the fly, pushing your hips against his legs as you pushed away the heavy jeans. He held you down as he sat up, drinking in your soft moan with an open mouthed kiss. Your hand ran down from his shoulder to the firm pecs adoring his abdomen, each mound rippling under the tip of your fingers. His circled one arm around your waist while the other fumbled to pull his aching cock out of its refines. You felt the vibration of his chest as he groaned into your mouth when you allowed your hand to wander down his body, cupping his balls as he fisted his own length.
You let out a shaky sigh when he slid his palm down the elastic band of your panties, groping the soft flesh of your ass as he peeled off the thin piece of cotton with a push down the small of your back to have you arching for him.  He chuckled when he felt the wetness that was seeping through the fabric, earning a glare from you that looked more like a kitten pretending to be defensive out of embarrassment than truly threatening to him with your heated face and slightly swollen lips from his earlier nibbling when you pulled away. A thin strand of silver connected your lips, looking all the more erotic now that you were both half bare and exposed to each other’s hungry eyes.
Your finger dug into the muscle of his arms when he lifted you up from his lap with ease, much thanks to the firm grasp of your thighs in his warm palms. Your lips fell agape but no sound came out when you felt the hardness prodding at your entrance. He looked shamelessly at where your bodies met, not bothering to hide the grin on his face when he felt the pain of your nails against his arm as he brushed his tip along your slit. You whined at the friction that was barely there, not able to sink down with him holding you back but your legs were starting to go weak with each push of his length against your clit. He took his time, spreading the leaking pre-cum across your folds and watching the mixture of your arousal slowly coated his cock.
“Kuroo…” you called out for him, hoping that it would be enough for him to give you what you wanted.
“Aw... What’s with this formality?” his arm flexed under your touch as he tilted his head to the side, lowering you down just a little, “What should you call me when I’m about to fuck your brains out, hm?”
You bite onto the inside of your cheeks when you felt him barely dipping in, his tip just positioned at your pussy.
“Tetsurou-”
his own name felt foreign as it rolled off the tip of your tongue and he let out an approving hum. “Good girl,” he purred, placing a chaste kiss on your trembling lips.
His grip on your legs tightened as he leaned closer to you, pushing his cock just a little deeper. Your brows locked together as he stretched out your entrance, clawing at his arm for more. You thought he was finally going to show some mercy on you, but the beating in your heart skipped a beat when you felt his hot breath fanning across your lips instead.
“You’re in love with me, aren’t you?”
Your eyes snapped open, his handsome face right in front of yours. “Wha- mph!”
You yelped at the sudden drop of your hips onto his lap, your nails scratching down his arm as he hilted inside of you with one motion. Your head threw back at the waves of shocking pleasure that sparked down your spine, your juicings running down the base of your thighs as your walls tried to accustomed to his thickness and length.
“What is it? Did you just say yes?” his laugh was wolfish as he took in your expression, a mixture of infuriated and primal desire.
“You-” he did not give you the time to bite back, thrusting up with a lift of your hips and turning whatever you wanted to say into nothing but incoherent moans.
Your body did not feel like it was under your control as he guided you to grind on his cock, the slaps of your soft flesh against his thighs taking over your senses. Your toes curled at how deep he could reach inside you each time he pulled you up and bottomed out of you. His hands were fondling your ass roughly as he bounced you on his cock, reducing you to nothing but a panting mess laying weakly on his chest.
“How does it feel to have the man of your dreams stretching out your tight cunt, hm?” he emphasised each word with a thrust, grinning ear to ear when you made a frugal attempt at slapping his arm you were holding onto. You buried your face into his chest, your muffled moans coming out as hot breath on his skin. He looked down from above you, watching as your ass jiggled under each thrust and your spine arching from the pleasure.
A loud smack echoed in the room and he groaned at the feeling of your walls clenching around him at the slap of his palm against your ass cheek. He gave the flesh a firm knead, rubbing at the area that had heated up from the spank before pulling his hand away to give the other side the same treatment. You felt the numbness on your skin as your skin burned, the pain making every hair on your back stood up.
“You like it when I get rough with you? You are squeezing down on my cock so hard,” his voice came as gravel from his chest. Your mind was in a frenzy, not even thinking straight as you nodded feverishly. “You’re such a slut for me, it’s really inflating my ego,” his filthy words made your stomach tighten as he continued, “bet this is what you have been thinking about whenever you check me out.”
You felt your face burning up. He knew all along?
Your surprise came out in the form of a squeal when he stood up, still holding you up. Your panting got more rapid as your only leverage from falling was the frantic clawing at his arm, having nothing but his strength to trust as he bounced you on his cock while marching down the hallway.
He hissed at the sharp pain on his back when your hands scratched down, kicking the door open with a hasty shove at the door with his heel before throwing you down the mattress. He did not waste another second as he perched on top of you, hooking your legs around his waist before rolling his hips to completely take over the pace of his cock pistoning at the spongy spot that made your mind foggy with nothing but his name and the overwhelming feeling of being towered over in your head.
The squelching got louder and louder as he ruthlessly snapped against you. You felt the knot in your stomach tightened up as he leaned down, sucking on the sweet spot at the side of your neck. His hand roamed all over your body, kneading your tits that bounced under his force.
He could not get over the fact that you were actually here, folded beneath him right now, and that it was his name you were moaning out.
“I’m-” your legs clasped around him as every muscle on your limbs tensed up, “I’m close-”
“Yeah? Tell me what you want,” he growled in your ear, his thrusts starting to get sloppy as your walls spasmed around his cock, “what does my girl want?”
You had imagined what it would be like if Kuroo Tetsurou ever set his eyes on you, if he had wanted you the same way you had absentmindedly started wanting him despite your best efforts to convince yourself that you knew that would not happen. But nothing could stop the heat that exploded in your chest and spread all through your body at how natural it came out of his mouth.
His girl. You were his girl now.
You let out a choked mewl when he switched from erratic plowing to slowly dragging his cock along your walls. The sudden drop from your near high seeped into your senses, tingling down from your core all the way to the tip of your toes.
“Tetsu-” your back arched off the mattress when he pulled out all the way only to halt in you with a sudden thrust, “want you to make me cum- ah!”
The shocks that sparked through your body when he set his sight on making you fall apart underneath him with his vigorous thrusts had your toe pointing stiffly and curling under the pleasure. The fist in the pit of your stomach curled and unfolded as he gripped your chin roughly, turning your head to look right into his eyes.
“Fuck, you wanna cum?” he hissed, feeling the shivers on his own back as he got closer and closer to his own high, “Then look at me, look at me as you cum on my cock-”
You felt your body shuddering as waves of pleasure crashed over you. His eyes were all you could focus on as you succumbed to the weakening of your limbs, the pounding in your ear gradually returned to a regular pace with Kuroo’s languish strokes allowing you to ride out your high.
You were sure you could never forget how the defined arch of his brows knitted together as he pulled out of you, his head throwing back just a little with his lips slightly parted. A sinful moan leaking out as spurts of white painted across your lower stomach.
Your vision was hazed over with a veil of fog as you blinked, collecting your breaths before focusing on the roof of your room that suddenly felt so unfamiliar. The claminess on your skin and the smell of sweat slowly took over. You felt the weight on your chest, breathing out a heavy exhale.
You really did just have sex with your crush, huh?
As if noticing your train of thought, Kuroo leaned over and placed a quick kiss on your jaw, his grin reaching his eyes as he stared at you. Much unlike his earlier dominance, the lazy curl of each syllable on his lips sounded more so like he was trying to play cute.
"Wait here,” he said, adding another peck on your lips, “I’ll grab you a towel.”
“The bathroom is the one right outside…” you muttered, feeling the dent on the mattress sprung back as he climbed off of you.
Your tensed muscles slowly relaxed as he moved you to lean against his broad chest, his hand gently caressing your skin as he dabbed the wet towel on you. His lips ghosted along your ear as he cleaned up the marks and trails left from your earlier passions, trying hard to conceal his satisfaction when you whined as he brushed past the bruises on your thighs.
“You should start getting used to it from now on, plenty more chances for us to- ouch, ouch.. ok, I’m sorry…”
The corner of your lips lifted up, burying your face into his chest as you tried to get comfortable, “I was right, you are way more attractive without opening your mouth.”
“Awe, don’t say that,” he pouted but the wolfish grin on his face told you he was not apologetic at all.
Kuroo watched as you slowly leaned onto him more and more, until your eyelids closed up with a flutter. If you had stayed awake for just a little longer, you would know that he could not be any more careful when he tucked you under the blanket before slipping in next to you. On this rare occasion where he would not get caught, he allowed himself to stare at your serene expression as he dozed off to sleep with a content smile on his face.
You did not need to know that his grade for the one course you shared was high enough already and he signed up for the committee purely because you were signing up too. He certainly would not let you know that he had always noticed your lingering gaze on him or that he secretly enjoyed it, even back when he saw you more than twice a week. That and the fact that he was overjoyed when he saw you appearing from the door of the lecture hall that Wednesday morning, followed by the ever growing frustration that he couldn’t find an excuse to talk to you when you were literally in the same class.
Whatever. Kuroo thought to himself as he gently threw his arm over your waist, burying his face into the crook of your neck as he inhaled your sweet scent. At least he didn’t have to go all the way from your apartment complex back to his place every Friday anymore.

i don’t know anything except how stories go
i don’t know anything except how stories go
the music isn't as good as i thought it would be
i'm not sure if i've taken enough drugs or too much
when i take too much, i get grandiose: big ideas. little follow-through.
when i take not enough, i also get grandiose, but i know it,
and i sound like a graveyard glass harmonica when
the wind passes through. when i take the right amount, i do not ask
whether i've taken enough drugs or too much.
instead i hallucinate that i'm a cicada, an elegant disgusting jewel
smithed by mommy nature to reproduce a tinny song,
and i'm grateful to my parents
and the 17 years i spent gestating
and this morbid cherry tree
because nobody buckles their tymbals like i. also, cicadas lack
the relevant receptors altogether,
so the dosing question doesn't apply.
(beat) say,
have you noticed that zoomers are really into columbo?
(you nod)
i've seen him on twitter twice lately, asking "just one more
question—which would you prefer as an afternoon snack?"
and there's a poll, cheez-its
or little debbie snack cakes.
the appeal, i think, is to a generational forgetfulness, to
a generation most in need of alarm clocks and aricept,
to the desire to see forgetfulness as a superpower, as an
equivalent to innocence, to be so impervious to
reality's demands. but haven't we been here
before? didn't milennials all die for the sin of inventing "retro
gaming"? and by the way,
did you hear the one about the guy who gave himself three-hundred
and ninety-one concussions, each time suffering retrograde amnesia
which knocked out his memory of his last pokemon red playthrough?
ah. ah yes. it is not a tale the jedi would tell you.
when i take too much, i get despondent. when i take not enough, i
get grandiose. but the line breaks are for the poet's benefit anyway.
besides, there are kids smoking brick weed in lebanon, we should be
thankful for what we have.
and hex maniac is pretty cute. her pupils spiral
counterclockwise,
going from out to in; in some of the fan art they go the other way but
you can tell those guys don't "get it"; the allure of a counterclockwise
spin on how you are perceived, to have your silhouette distorted
and your details properly misunderstood, to lose at games you've
never heard of it, to eat with chopsticks incorrectly,
to trip and fall and look at the sidewalk and say "thank you.
yes. i had grown complacent in my patterns, my
nucleus accumbens
was running on fumes; and i certainly wasn't expecting that!" and
mean it. i did this once. i was in a state of rare tranquility after
masturbating for sixteen consecutive hours (essentially a
performance enhancing drug for meditation—which is why,
in the tibetan olympics, strict no-fap is required for a week
before competition—and they take semen samples to be sure!)
so (you nod), when the buddha saw me
so grateful for life's misfortunes, he made a "look
at this fucking guy" gesture to ganesh and then said "look at this
fucking guy" as if the gesture wasn't enough. naturally,
i was offended, and besides i recalled the old koan "If you meet the
Buddha on the road, kill him," which i had read in a collection
of koans for children titled "If you meet the Buddha..." which
my Mom had purchased for me in the novelty gift section
of an urban outfitters in santa barbara ("Mom, why are you shopping
at urban outftters?" "son, yr mama just tryin' ta stay cool. say, you
heard of this MF DOOM cat?" "ugh! Mom!") and which had
such thought-provoking aphorisms as:
"If you meet the Buddha in an airport, buy him a cheeseburger."
"If you meet the Buddha at a dive bar, play him some new wave—the
Buddha is big into that shit." the idea being, you're prepared for any
circumstance, which is what buddhism is all about. so i did a
bunch of fast attacks; the buddha blocked; i said "shouldn't
it be all the same to you if i kill you?" the buddha said "it would,
except i want to get home and watch columbo, and i don't
want to wait to respawn." i said, "jesus. just—jesus." then the buddha
kicked me through a brick wall. everyone in the WeWork
screamed and fled, leaving their kombucha behind, and
for some reason the sprinklers went off. then, after the initial
impact, a lone brick fell (because of torque—force times the length of
the lever, remember) and hit me comically on the head, causing a
concussion. i said "guh."
yup, (you nod sympathetically),
i was feeling mighty grim. then it occurred to me: why don't i
play pokémon red? unfortunately, on my cellphone i only had
the romhack version, you know, where all the pokémon are allegories
for depression. so you got your depressionmander, depressioneleon,
depressionizard, and for pokémon where that doesn't work
they use it as a suffix, e.g. bulbadepression, ivydepression,
venudepression. also you can't leave the starting room and
your character moves really slowly. the indie gaming press
loves it. one of the features that reviewers single out is
that, instead of a lone Stand By Me reference, the TV in your room
goes line by line through Aguirre, the Wrath of God, except the
murders are replaced with pokémon battles and at the end
aguirre tries to command a horde of mankeys ("depressionkeys"),
which is a metaphor. dark stuff. it makes me think back on my youth:
lying on my child-king sized bed, masturbating to polyhedral
stellations, suffering from severe geometric dysmorphia as i
compared myself to the grandeur of those idealized forms—god, i
used to hate myself for those wasted hours. i mean, i still do, but i
used to, too. only after years of therapy have i developed a mantra
that eases the pain:
"i am mostly a cylinder.
i am mostly a cylinder." presto. you can get off to anything, even
loomis.
(you nod, hesitantly.) on saturday night,
i throw open the window and scream at the children: "you'll get old
too! an abstractome of brittle opinions even as your bumbling
homunculus drops the data you once used to back them up!"
the children reply "not necessarily, given the rate of advances in
biotech. also, no one cares, grandpa." they play soccer. my
mad pilgrim hair blows in the wind. i scream: "suffer! suffer! i am
omniscience!" they say: "oh yeah? how many fingers am i
holding up?" "four! five! four!" "it was five, you old fart." "the thumb
doesn't count as a finger! you should have a specified!" "OK, new
game: what sort of person am i?" "you are—you are—!" and so
i peer into their souls and know the answer, but i can't
find the words. the words do not come. i have forgotten them.
silently i draw away from the window. the children smirk, but only for
a moment. for they know i am right.
ah, to reveal the soul's heist, to be seen through by the omniscient
and powerless, what a delight! who among us would not cheerfully
kill the buddha when he's comin' through the rye? who among us
has not been blessed by the kind words of a stranger? and yet, we
shouldn't incentivize people to be strangers. society would collapse.
besides, we are no longer strangers to ourselves, you and i.
(you nod.) we will have much to discuss about that.

My One And Only - Chapter 9
Previous | Next
So this chapter is longer than chapter 8 and I think from next chapter, they got longer. As we get closer to the chapter I’m currently writing, the frequent updates will unfortunately die. Just letting you know so you won’t be too disappointed! Oh and my Wattpad name is the same, ‘yannowhatigiveup’. If you know any way I can improve my writing please do tell me!
Gabriel Agreste stood in his observatory after recently detransforming. 'She can control her emotions well but when she's angry, it's incredibly strong. This girl could be one of the strongest in Paris, she could be one that senses auras. I must find a way. I will use her to eliminate all of heroes. All I need is time'.
————————————————————
The bluenette sat in her uncle Jagged's hotel room, tapping a pen against her lips while watching the conversation, well it was more like an argument, between Jagged and his manager Bob Roth. Bob was stating that they should leave the song writing to the professionals while Jagged protested, saying that his niece was overflowing with talent and that she could do it no problem. Penny was on the phone with someone but Marinette didn't eavesdrop in her conversation. She stated at the blank notebook in front of her, eyeing it suspiciously. Then she got an idea and began scribbling down the lyrics she had in mind, not knowing that she had unintentionally gained the attention of everyone in the room. She managed to write the whole song in one sitting which was very impressive even for professional song writers at the time. "Did it" she said putting the pen down. Penny then came over to take the notebook and read what the bluenette had written. 'I hope it's ok'
"Wow Mari, this is great!" Penny said her mouth agape. She passed it to Jagged but Bob had snatched it out of his hands, only to give it back when Fang looked at him hungrily.
"Yeah, this is rock'n roll Nettie!" He praised her while giving his manager a 'I told you so' look.
"Yes this is exactly what we needed, a little change in the album. Thank you for this Marinette. We shall produce the song while you can sing the lyrics-"
"If that's alright will you of course" Jagged said, interrupting his manager.
Marinette nodded hesitantly. "I can give it a shot" she murmured.
Marinette walked home after visiting Jagged and showing Damian the designs she had in plan for his brothers, without showing the design she made for him. She was careful not to shake her purse too much as Tikki was sleeping, it was a busy day for the kwami as Marinette had let her go visit Plagg for some 'Kwami business'. Marinette didn't press for answers though. Soon she entered her parents bakery to find them already there, waiting for her.
"Maman, Papa what is it?" She asked.
"Your father and I are discussing if we should open a second bakery" Sabine answered enthusiastically.
"There's a few spots available in Marseille, we already booked a flight and a hotel to stay at" Tom answered, maybe even more excited than his wife.
"That's great! But isn't Marseille far away? It's closer to Italy than Paris" Marinette answered.
"Well surprisingly, we're already well known there" Tom replied.
"Oh cool! When will you be leaving?"
"On Saturday at 2 am" Her mother replied. "It's late but it was the next available flight. We'll be gone for a week maybe longer depending on all the paper work"
"Well you better start packing then!" Marinette said happy for both her parents. "I'll be going to bed now. Good night!" She hugged both her parents before going upstairs to change and finishing up her designs.
~~~
Adrien sat in front of his computer early before school, looking through all of Kagami's recent posts and he liked the photo that she posted yesterday, the photo was of when they went for ice cream earlier today. Alya and Nino were also in the picture, smiling for the camera but Adrien noticed someone else in the background. 'Marinette...' She was eating her ice cream, unbeknownst to the picture being taken, with the spoon still in her mouth. Adrien felt distracted by the way the sun reflected off her hair. He loved Kagami truly but his new love for Marinette shadowed it. "Plagg" Adrien said. "I think I have a thing for bluenettes".
"So your type is blue-haired girls? What makes you say that?" The kwami replied, not really enjoying the conversation.
"Well I like Ladybug, Kagami and Marinette and they all have one thing in common. They all have blue hair" Adrien sighed. "The last thing I need is another blue-haired girl to come into my life"
"Ughhh this is too cheesy, I much prefer actual cheese" Plagg groaned while looking around for Camembert.
Adrien sighed, smiling while going back to think of the girls he liked. He liked Ladybug for her quick, sly and smart nature. Kagami was incredibly skilled and very easy to relate to. And Marinette had a kind personality as well as unmatchable beauty. He couldn't decide which one he liked most as all the options were as great as the others. Then a notification on his computer distracted him from his thoughts. It was a notification that Jagged Stone had posted something. 'Huh, I wonder what it could be'
~~~
Jason was flicking through the channels on the TV, looking for something interesting to watch when a notification appeared on his phone. 'What's this?' He then realised that it was a trending post from Jagged Stone and went to view it. "HOLY SH-"
"Master Jason, language"Alfred reminded him.
"Oh yeah sorry" he whispered before shouting again. "HOLY MOTHER OF UM SOMETHING!"
Dick and Tim then entered the room, wondering what Jason was talking about. "What?" Dick asked.
Jason then connected his phone to the TV and showed the post he was talking about.
@official_jaggedstone
(Photo of a blue-haired girl with a medium long braid and her back facing the camera, writing on something)
Wonder what MDC is writing up for the bonus track? 🤔🤔🤔🤔
All three of the boys then fanboyed over finally being able to see what their favourite designer, and idol, looked like. Alfred then sighed while exiting the room.
"She's pretty!"
"She looks smart!"
"What's she writing?"
"I'm gonna call Damian, that room looks similar to the room he's staying in"
"Yes do, I want to pester him"
Dick then dialed a number on his phone. After a few rings, the phone finally answered.
"Tt, Yes?" A stern voice came through on the other side.
"HAVE YOU SEEN JAGGED'S RECENT POST!?" Tim shouted into the microphone.
~~~
Damian had already seen Jagged's post, he smiled to himself. He was about to go back to reading his book when his phone rang. He would've picked it up straight away if he hadn't see the name, it was Dick. He let the phone ring for a little while before answering.
"Tt, Yes?" He said in a stern voice.
"HAVE YOU SEEN JAGGED'S RECENT POST!?" Luckily Damian had the phone further away from his ear otherwise Tim would've exploded his eardrums.
"What about it?"
"He posted an image of MDC, the very first one ever on the internet!" Dick answered excitedly. "There aren't any pictures of her anywhere".
Damian smiled to himself knowing that he had seen MDC before his brothers, he had seen her smile. "There aren't?"
"Yeah! Weird right? She doesn't even show up to Jagged's live performances!" It was Jason's turn to speak now.
"Well I'm sure she goes to the performances, she's just never seen" Tim told his brother in a matter-of-fact way.
Damian rolled his eyes. "Tt, bye now" he said, immediately turning his phone off not allowing any of his brothers to protest. He then texted Marinette.
Me: Just got off the phone with my brothers, they were fanboying over you.
Surprisingly Marinette replied straight away.
Angel: They are too? Everyone is fangirling over MDC
Me: Because of Jagged's post, he posted a picture of you. The back of your head specifically
Angel: Oh hah I see it now, I guess that has to be my signature hairstyle as MDC now.
Me: It looks great on you though
Angel: You really think so?
Me: Mhm
Angel: Aw, thanks
~~~
Marinette had blushed when Damian said she looked good in that hairstyle. She really liked him. Then Marinette looked at the time, she was early for once. She decided to make use of this and get ready for school. She had finished getting ready quickly and she was able to walk instead of run to school like she usually did. When she entered, she noticed that there was barely anyone here. 'Perfect! I can work on my designs' that was until a familiar face showed up.
"Hey girl! You're here early wow!" The sound of her best friend made Marinette laugh until her facial expression changed from surprised to smug. Marinette was about to ask but Alya had brought her to the locker room where they were alone. "So girl, spill"
"What?"
"Do you like Chat Noir?"
Marinette giggled but she saw her best friend's face. "Oh you're not joking"
"Nope, now you can tell me so that I can get you both on a date." She blushed profusely. "And I ain't backing down, I've spent too much time on trying to find out who he is. Don't think I haven't noticed how you're jumping at anytime to be with this boy." She said the last statement with a soft voice.
Marinette sighed, grateful of her best friend but hesitant to tell her without Damian's permission as he never seemed like one for social interaction. "I'll ask" she said while taking her phone out.
Me: Shaytan, my best friend found out that I've been sneaking off to go see you.
Shaytan: Césaire?
Me: Yeah
Shaytan: You said she wanted to be a reporter right? Well then I guess this is expected, she did a good job.
Me: So should I tell her your name?
Shaytan: That's up to you
Me: Ok thanks!
Marinette put her phone away and looked at her best friend.
"So?" Alya asked. "Can you tell me?"
Marinette nodded. "So um, his name is D-Damian"

Queen live at Råsundastadion Stockholm, Sweden - June 7, 1986 (Part-1)
The very last tour - it's possible that Freddie knew about his illness already at that time so MAYBE he knew it was the last time he sang live with Queen. The ending of One Vision includes riffs from Brian's Star Fleet. Tear It Up starts with a short part of Liar. Overall Queen did play quite a few surprising bits on this tour. There were some slight changes in some dates. The concert in Nice was rescheduled to Frejus which (as a fan story on this site proves) some fans almost haven't noticed :-) The final Knebworth date was added a bit later, when the promoter (Harvey Goldsmith) realized how quickly the tickets were selling. Apparently Queen were also asked to play at the Seat Beach Rock festival in Ostend, Belgium on August 10 (and they probably agreed at first). But this concert had to be cancelled because of the Knebworth date.

This is the first show of the Magic tour. After releasing A Kind Of Magic (their fifth UK #1 album), the Magic tour would be Queen's final tour, as Freddie Mercury's health would make future touring impossible. The band would perform 26 shows to over a million people over the next two months. Bearing in mind how much money the band put into the visual and technical aspects of their show over the years, this reportedly is the only tour where they would actually turn in a profit. Their light show and overall stage production on this tour was the biggest ever at the time. "I think we are probably the best live band in the world at the moment, and we are going to prove it. It'll make Ben-Hur look like the Muppets. No one who comes to see us will be disappointed," Roger Taylor was humbly quoted saying before the tour. Years later, he would recall it to be Queen's best tour. The band rehearsed in a London studio for many weeks, beginning in mid-May. Footage of the band in the teching stage in early June, likely in a new and larger location, was shown on French TV (where they are still running parts of In The Lap Of The Gods...Revisited, the only old song revived for the tour), different from the rehearsal footage seen on disc 2 of the Live At Wembley Stadium DVD. Playing (mostly) stadium shows on this tour gave Queen the platform to demonstrate how they were still very much at the forefront of stadium rock. With this kind of commercial success, a lot of the older songs were dropped. This resulted in what today seems like a mostly 'Greatest Hits' setlist, but at the time it was more simply a "state of the union" of the band. Much of the setlist contained newer material from their latest two records, while the Works tour (especially in 1984) revisited more of the older material. The average person in Europe was once again aware of Queen after Live Aid, and the band's choice of setlist for stadium-sized audiences reflected that. The band now open the show with One Vision. The first minute of the studio version blasts through the speakers, with a couple bars towards the end repeating - which heightens the anticipation and has maximum impact on those in the audience who know the song well, even before the band play a note (a tactic they used many times throughout their career). Brian May then walks on stage to play the ever-familiar guitar riff, and the show begins. The band do a series of fanfares at the end of the song, including a small bit of Starfleet, the title track from Brian's 1983 solo project. For now, the only other new songs performed are A Kind Of Magic and Who Wants To Live Forever. Both songs are much more straight-forward rock arrangements compared to the studio versions. On the latter, Brian May plays keyboards for the first two verses while keeping his guitar on so he can quickly switch over to play the solo. There are now some pyrotechnics at the beginning of Hammer To Fall, with Freddie pointing to each side of the stage almost as if he is the one setting them off. In The Lap Of The Gods...Revisited is revived for the Magic tour, sounding much different than it did in the 70s. The first verse is only guitar and vocal, with Roger and John kicking in for the chorus - a very dramatic effect. This is the beginning of the medley, leading into Seven Seas Of Rhye, Tear It Up, and finally A Kind Of Magic. Liar also remains from the Works tour medley, although it has been reduced to a short instrumental link between Seven Seas Of Rhye and Tear It Up, with Roger's drum patterns differing greatly from the original. As on the Works tour, almost every night of the Magic tour has Freddie dispelling rumours from the papers that Queen are splitting up, before Who Wants To Live Forever. The new song leads directly into I Want To Break Free, which now has a much better ending. The impromptu is now performed before Brian's solo spot. Despite its name, it would be pretty similar from night to night. The band would play their longest ever acoustic set on this tour. In addition to offering Love Of My Life and Is This The World We Created, they happily acknowledged their roots every night with the standards "(You're So Square) Baby I Don't Care", "Hello Mary Lou", and "Tutti Frutti". Recalling Led Zeppelin's legendary concert acoustic sets, Brian later said how Queen followed in their footsteps. Hello Mary Lou was probably included because Ricky Nelson had just passed away a few months prior to the tour. Little Richard's Tutti Frutti is one of the most important and ground-breaking songs in the last half-century of popular music, and Queen do it justice every night. The band begin the song at the front of the stage (like they did with '39 in the seventies). After three verses, Freddie exchanges a few "Womp-bomp-a-loom-op-a-womp-bam-booms" with the audience while Roger rushes back to his drum kit and Brian quickly switches to his Red Special. Roger then kicks in, bringing the song to a frenzied finale. Similar to past shows in Milan, Rio, and Tokyo, every 1986 concert outside the UK would have Freddie appearing on stage for the second encore of We Will Rock You with a British flag, and embroidered to it would be the flag of whichever country they were playing in. Freddie is seen with a Swedish flag in the last picture above (submitted by Janneman). Since this spectacle lengthens the song at the beginning, Freddie sings only the first verse and the final double chorus tonight and at the next show. He'd return to singing all three verses after that, making the Magic tour versions of the song the longest they'd ever perform. It's worth noting that Roger switched over from Ludwig to Yamaha drums this year, and that his overall drum sound was far superior to his setup on the Works tour. It's also worth noting that Freddie Mercury's goodbyes to audiences on this tour were generally more heartfelt (especially by July), as he was well aware that he was infected with AIDS at this point and thus was sure this would be the band's last tour. Never once did he leave the stage saying, "See you next time," as he had done on previous tours. While it is unknown to the public exactly when Freddie revealed to his bandmates that he was infected with the fatal virus, he did tell them early in the tour that he had less energy than he used to, and indicated to them in numerous ways that this certainly may be their last tour. There are quotes from interviews from around this time that indicate his state of mind, like this one: "I know there will be a time where I can't run around on stage because it will be ridiculous. I know there comes a time when you have to stop. But music will still be my thing." There would be various other indicators during the next couple months, both on and off stage, especially visible with the benefit of hindsight. However, Freddie's longtime girlfriend Mary Austin put all discussion to rest during an interview with the BBC in 2011, revealing that Freddie definitely did know of his mortality during the final Queen tour.

Note
What are your thoughts on what’s been happening with TK? This isn’t insecurity, it’s just being a Vmin supporter so long, something with TK is felling pushed, if that’s the word I can use. V said that imagination comment 3 years ago & people can change their mind. now we have TK paired together, wearing matching clothes & JM seems to spend less time with TK. JM pushing JK off himself twice. I truly think Vmin were dating & still think they care, but imagine if TK started dating how JM must feel.
My thoughts are the same ones I've already voiced what feels like a hundred times over. Unless I post something that says otherwise, rest assumed I did not change my mind, and neither did Admin 2. The hypothesis in this ask--vmin broke up and now potentially Xkook are together--is the same old, same old we've already answered a bunch of times before just formulated differently and at varying degrees of drama in the way the question was asked.
Like I said so many times before, life isn't a teen drama on a cheap TV station, and it also isn't a scripted reality TV show with a cast that can barely act and a team of writers that know nothing of human emotions. Bangtan are a team of seven that have been together between nine and eleven years, do you really think such inner-team switches would just go over smoothly without the team eventually breaking apart? Also, not to sound mean, but do you realize what your question/hypothesis sounds like? I mean, what, JK said no to Tae in the past, so Tae was with Jimin instead but eventually JK changed his mind so Tae dumped Jimin to be with JK? This isn't Riverdale, Grace Anatomy or Vampire Diaries.
Just a few months ago Tae declared he likes Jimin the most, said Sweet Night is a personal song, and reminisced about spending time with Jimin years ago in Japan in the behind the scenes to BTS, The Best. Does that really sound like a man just waiting for a different man to change his mind? Does it sound like a man planning on breaking up with the person he so very publicly spoke of in such a manner just to be with another instead?
Tumblr media
(...) now we have T/K paired together, wearing matching clothes & JM seems to spend less time with T/K.
Now this is fascinating to me. The wearing matching clothes part, especially. Outside of the things they wore for performances or interviews, which are really the only places we've seen them for the most part in recent weeks, where, exactly, have Tae and JK worn matching things? Since even during performances etc. they didn't really match as far as I'm aware/remember. In the most recent performance of Permission to Dance vmin actually wore matching necklaces and shoes, so...?
Tumblr media
And them being paired together, so what? What, exactly, does that show? That they look good in pictures together? Well, yeah, they all do.
I don’t know if you’ve watched Memories of 2019, and especially the behind the scenes of the jacket shooting for Map of the Soul: Persona but there we literally saw and heard that the director gave them pointers about what atmosphere each given photoshoot is supposed to bring across, gave them directions for how to pose and when they should look at each other or smile at each other, told them to be goofy and cute together. Of course it comes across incredibly natural to us, because they all like each other a whole lot and have incredible chemistry, but they’re still photoshoots that are supposed to fulfill a purpose, follow a theme and, in order for it to be quicker, things are planned out beforehand so that, when the members arrive, they don’t have to worry about figuring it out on the spot. And even with all of that it was still said that some group pictures took four hours and another day of photoshoots was around fourteen hours long.
As for your claim that Jimin spends less time with Tae and JK, you’re basing this on what...? As far as I’m aware we have no info whatsoever regarding what the members have really been doing these last few weeks outside of work. We know Jimin, JK, Namjoon and Yoongi have been working out together, or at least they were doing that months ago when they were recording the FESTA videos, or that TXT’s Taehyun met JK while working out some time ago and received three pairs of boxing gloves from him after asking JK if he could borrow his since he forgot his own, but other than that?
Like I said many times before, please don’t blindly just believe whatever big ship centric, (nearly) obsessed, accounts tell you or what YT videos try to make you believe. Instead watch the original content, see what’s happening on their official sns, and watch interviews and other things yourself because those people (shippers) have agendas and they will lie to make you believe whatever fits their agenda, even if it isn’t true or they have no proof for it whatsoever.
From anon: anon is probably talking about TKs head to toe matching beige outfit in the permission to dance challenge. And TKers screaming about (redacted spoiler). Saying they have sun/moon lyrics matching with DNA. It’s a TK vs JK battle. Honestly TK do more skinship then JK or Vmin but I think it’s cause of JM. Like anon said JM pushed JK off him twice recently & does the same to V often, but Vmin are emotionally connected more then TK & JK And that’s more important then skinship.
Tumblr media
Ah yes, the beige outfits, similar yet not the same. By that logic we’d have to say N*mg* are a thing as well since they were the only ones all in black yet somehow I don’t have anyone in my asks making that claim. Why can’t we instead talk about how cute they all are dancing in tiny with big smiles?
As for Jimin pushing Tae away “often”, where, exactly, because I recall exactly one such instance and it wasn’t even him doing it seriously but simply as part of his role in the video. As in during a behind the scenes shot of Tae and Jimin from one of the short CFs for that gum brand that I’m never able to remember what it’s called. In it Jimin and Hobi supposedly had a fight and Tae tries to reason with Jimin but Jimin brushes him off before chewing the gum and making up with Hobi. It’s just acting.
Also does this look like pushing Tae off of him?
Tumblr media
Honestly if Xkookers want to have a battle between each other, I’d kindly ask them/you to do it on your own blogs and leave us/vminnies out of it since we have nothing to do with it.

genre : fluffiest fluff it’s disgusting and sMIdge of angst
word count : 3.5k+
warnings : season s3/4 spoilers, mentions of anxiety and worry
themes : mutual pining, suppressed feelings
summary : you’ve liked todoroki since the first class, you often caught him looking at you but neither of you really knew how to handle this stuff so when you had the chance to be more you decided not to ruin the friendship already there, but being great friends meant you can never confess to him because of the fear of ruining a friendship on top of the that the school festival is just around the corner and you’re doing a duet with jirou, so why isn’t it jirou up on the stage with you.
Tumblr media
| 1 month until the festival |
‘okay so, we still have time for one more song after the group song’, iida looked around the room before jirou spoke up, ‘actually iida i was wondering if i could do a duet with.. y/n’, you paused before looking up in disbelief  ‘me? but..’ you love singing but it’s been so long since you’ve been up on a stage ‘before you say no, ive heard you sing y/n you are.. incredible and ive always wanted to do a duet with you and this is the perfect opportunity’ she shuffled her feet a little, you stared at her shocked, ‘y/n she’s right you’re amazing’ todoroki spoke up making your stomach flip ‘fine but i have to practice a lot’ you sigh defeated, ‘you wont regret this!’ she grinned.
after sorting out all your parts for the show you all got to work, you sent todoroki a little smile which he returned, ‘hey y/n, lets get started on which song to do’ you nod sitting at the kitchen table. ‘i think the song should be moving, not necessarily slow but not too fast?’ she nodded, ‘exactly what i was thinking, i have a couple ideas’ she scrolled through her laptop for songs, you looked up for a second watching todoroki figure out how they’re going to break his ice for the performance, he was pouting a little making small gestures with his hands which made you smile you locked eyes for a moment, instead of looking away like you would’ve when you first met him you shot him a grin which he returned his cheeks dusting pink, ‘okay so this is one of the songs i was thinking’ your attention snapped back to the laptop in front of you, you went through a couple songs before deciding on one final song, ‘rewrite the stars’ you had both watched the movie that it’s from and decided on doing the dance as well with the help of tsu for the lifting part, you practised the dance first since singing was a lot easier than dancing for the both of you.
you used one of the training facility’s to learn the dance wanting to keep the song and dance a surprise from your friends, walking back to the dorms exhausted, jirou smirked at you, ‘i saw you staring at todoroki back when we were looking for songs’ you held back a smile ‘i- uh yeah we’re friends’ you said cursing at yourself for the stutter, ‘friends don’t look at each other the way you two do’ smiling sadly you look at her, ‘i don’t want to ruin the friendship we have’ handing you her water bottle she gave you an encouraging look ‘y/n i see the way he looks at you, but i understand where you’re coming from, i just hope you both realise’ nodding you walked into the dorms together looking up to see everyone sweating from dancing, ‘HEY GUYS!!’ denki waved, you waved back at the blonde ‘y/n, jirou!! we decided on having a movie night tonight for our hard works!’ mina panted.
you grabbed a towel from your wardrobe heading to your bathroom to wash yourself of the sweat, while showering you were reminded of the time you and todoroki got soaked from the rain while walking back to the dorms, he saw you shivering and you weren’t really friends yet so you were surprised when he walked next to you warming you up with his quirk, ‘todoroki you don’t have to i’m o-okay’ you smile up into his grey and blue eyes ‘you’re shivering, you’ll catch a cold if you stay out like this’ he replied while you both walked a little faster, you hurried inside, sitting on the sofa he moved his hands up and down your arms warming you up ‘thank you todoroki’ he smiled, ‘call me shoto’. you smiled at the memory walking back into your room after getting changed to see todoroki sat on your bed, ‘i have movie options for tonight it’s our turn to pic-’ he froze a little, his eyes stuck on your clothes, you decided to wear an oversized shirt with shorts which you couldn’t really see with the t-shirt and your hair still wet, ‘what, what happened’ you said concern laced your voice, blushing his gaze returned to the video game he was playing ‘its our turn to pick, any movie you want to watch?’ you shook your head sitting next to him, it was quite common for todoroki to come into your room uninvited, you didn’t have anything to hide from him, well other than being in love with him.. but nothing in your room can prove that, you had gotten a lot closer after each villain attack, you are a lot stronger than you look but that doesn’t mean you weren’t upset you could’ve done better which means you’re a lot harder on yourself then you should be, somehow he’s always there to help you, he caught you training late at night but you were pushing yourself way too hard and he’s made you train with him since then so you don’t overexert yourself. ‘hmm, actually how about the greatest showman’ you looked to the boy beside you, ‘i have no clue what that is’.
you turned the movie on despite the protests from a certain ashe blonde, you told jirou you wanted them to watch the movie so when they see you both perform they’ll connect the dots to which she agreed was a great idea. finding your space between todoroki and denki you snuggled into the blanket over the two of you. you didn’t see this but he watched the way you sang along to all the songs everyone, he watched your eyes twinkle from the light of the tv, the way your hair frames your face perfectly, he quickly snapped out of these thoughts when you leaned back against the sofa getting tired. ‘are you tired’ he whispered into your ear, nodding you asked ‘are you?’ shaking his head he accepted the hot chocolate mina made everyone, taking your hot chocolate you blew on it a little before taking a sip, sighing from the warm liquid warming your throat you slumped back your knees slightly brushing against todoroki’s in the process. he smiled at your relaxed form. you set the hot chocolate down before slipping back into the position you were in and falling asleep.
you woke up and groaned, looking at the time it’s 3am and you’re back in your bed? a little confused you head downstairs to grab some water, everyone had gone back to bed since the movie probably ended a while ago, ‘hey’ you jumped at the sudden noise turning around to see todoroki laughing at your scared figure ‘jesus’ you laughed as well, it was always nice laughing with him, he doesn’t laugh often so when he does you cherish it, ‘what are you doing down here’ he spoke up as you sipped on your water, ‘i got a little confused because i woke up in my room and then got thirsty’ you smiled shaking the water bottle in your hand, ‘i uh carried you’ he said softly, blush dusting his cheeks, you also turned a little red at his words ‘thank you’ you handed him a water bottle grinning.
the last couple weeks went by pretty fast, you opened up the jirou about todoroki and she seemed pretty set on getting you both together but for the last 3 weeks of you both practising she either cancelled last minute so you practised by yourself or she barely practised with you at all only making sure you perfected the moves, you were a little worried about the performance since when you went over the whole song she kept forgetting the dance, she told you she practises at night but that didn’t reassure you much.
the last week rolled around and you were worried as hell, the performance is right around the corner and jirou is barely trying also todoroki wasn’t hanging out with you as much as usual, you game together on weekends but he was no where to be seen, you shrugged it off since everyone’s busy with the festival and school.
the last day rolled around faster than you hoped it would, the duet you and jirou had been working on wasn’t going great, you had practised hard and got all the little steps right along with the song but it’s like jirou didn’t care about your duet since she was doing great when practising the group song, which had you riddled with nerves, you had practised the levitating move with tsu, jirou didn’t even bother to show up for that day and you needed to talk to her about it but everytime you tried she said everything will be okay scared you just went along with it. since it’s the day before the performance you decided to head to the closed training facility just to make sure you got everything right, just as you were about to head in you saw the lights on, peering around the corner your heart dropped, you saw todoroki with jirou he was on the ground and she held out her hand pulling him up as they laughed, was she just trying to get closer to him this whole time?... you ran back to the dorms tears silently dropping down your face as you did. ‘oh god, y/n what happened?’ momo ran over as you walked into the dorms, ‘nothing it’s fine, i’m fine’ you said wiping away your tears before shutting yourself off in your room leaving your friends to share looks of concern, it took a lot for you to break down like that in front of everyone. how can you do the performance now. you were angry, not at todoroki but jirou for manipulating you like that, you had to go through with the performance though you thought as memories of you and todoroki flooded your head, you knew he didn’t like you but seeing him with someone else hurt a lot more than you thought i would, you sat there as tears slid down your face in silence. you heard a knock on your door, you stayed silent just so they would leave, ‘y/n it’s me.. please open the door’ it was todoroki, your heart hurt at his voice which was laced with concern and worry. you opened the door, ‘what happened’ he looked at you sadly, ‘nothing it’s fine’ you lied looking anywhere but his eyes, he lifted your chin up so your eyes met ‘you’re not fine’ you shook your head away from his grip, ‘i’ll be fine don’t worry’ you put on a fake smile before closing the door and locking it. ‘y/n fuck please talk to me’ you wanted to, you wanted to talk to him so bad but you couldn’t, you couldn’t just ruin your friendship, especially if she makes him happy.
crawling out of bed you washed your face and got dressed as usual. afterwards you headed downstairs as you remembered the events of last night, pushing them to the back of your head you made tea for you and a couple others, ‘morning y/n’ denki smiled his hair a little disheveled from waking up early, well it’s 7am on a monday so not so early. ‘morning denki’ you smiled a small smile at him, ‘are you okay, after last night’ he nudged your shoulder, ‘i’m fine dont worry’ you said handing him his tea.
you were anxious, your performance was in an hour and jirou was no where to be seen, your group performance went amazing, you couldn’t help but glance at todoroki as he performed, he tried to talk to you before but you only said a couple words to him before saying you needed to get ready, ‘sorry shoto, i’ll talk to you after’ you smiled heading off to get ready, your dress is beautiful, it’s a pale rosie colour with a sheer black mesh over it, it looks a little vintage as it has a corset and it’s off the shoulder. you put it on and momo gasped at you ‘y/n, you look beautiful’ she had a big smile on her face, denki and kiri walked in and as a soon as they saw you they had the same expression on their face as momo did ‘WOAHH Y/N’ denki yelled ‘y/n you look amazing’ kirishima added, you smiled at them all before momo dragged you into a chair to do your makeup, she added a black wing to compliment your eyes matching with the dress, and some pink blush as well as tinted red lipstick. you were ready, ‘hey guys wheres jirou, she’s meant to be getting ready with me’ you frowned at the girls unusual lack of cooperation, ‘oh, uhh she’s getting ready in the other changing rooms’ denki said stuttering making you furrow your brows a little, is she avoiding me? you thought, does she feel guilty, pushing these thoughts to the side you stood beside the stage watching as class 1b walked off stage.
you felt hands on your eyes, ‘what the fuck’ you said as denki quickly said ‘trust me just let me walk you to the middle of the stage and then i’ll let go’ you agreed quickly knowing the performance is due to start, walking to the centre of the stage you turned around so you are facing where you were stood moments ago, denki stood there smiling sending you a thumbs up, smiling as you’re back to back with jirou not actually seeing her yet since denki made sure to keep your eyes closed, the backing track started, this part was you and jirou singing as she took the lead. ‘you know i want you, it’s not a secret i try to hide’ your eyes widened as you turned around instead of jirou it was todoroki singing with you, he somehow knew the dance and the song, [ blue : todoroki | red : you | purple : both ]. ‘i know you want me, so don’t keep saying our hands are tied’ your hand pressed against his as you walked in a circle your dress trailing behind you, your eyes still wide from the shock of him singing with you, he looked at you like he’s been waiting all his life to see you, as if you weren’t on a stage in front of the whole school, the feeling between your hands felt electric ‘you claim it’s not in the cards but fate is pulling you miles away and out of reach from me, but you’re here in my heart so who can stop me if i decide that you’re my destiny’ his eyes didn’t leave yours a smile plastered on his face, he pulled you in so you’re only an inch away from his face exactly like the choreography you learnt ‘what if we rewrite the stars, say you were made to be mine, nothing could keep us apart you’d be the one i was meant to find’ you fought the urge to kiss him right there as you both pulled away and he twirled you around ‘it’s up to you and it’s up to me, no one can say what we get to be, so why don’t we rewrite the stars, maybe the world could be ours, tonight’ you broke apart again then grabbed his hand as he pulled you back into his hold his hands on your waist looking into your twinkling eyes, you pushed yourself away backing away as tsu pulled you up so you’re now levitating up earning gasps from the crowd, ‘you think it’s easy, you think i don’t want to run to you, but there are mountains there are doors that we can’t walk through, i know you’re wondering why because we’re able to be just you and me within these walls but when we go outside you’re gonna wake up and see that it was hopeless after all’ he watched you, as if you were the only person for him, he knew in that moment that he could never see someone the way he sees you, ‘no one can rewrite the stars, how can you say you’ll be mine, everything keeps us apart and i’m not the one you were meant to find, it’s not up to you it’s not up to me when everyone tells us what we can be, how can we rewrite the stars say that the world can be ours tonight’ he watched you with stars in his eyes as tsu lifted you back down, you grabbed his hands feeling as if you were flying as you sang together ‘all i want is to flyy with you all i want is to fall with you, so just give me all of you, if feels impossible, it’s not impossible, is it impossible, say that it’s possible.. how do we rewrite the stars say you were made to be mine, nothing could keep us apart, cause you are the one i was meant to find, it’s up to you and it’s up to me no one can say what we get to be, why don’t we rewrite the stars, changing the world to be ours’ you caught your breath as todoroki held you closest he’s ever held you before, you could feel his breath on you, you looked up at him, eyes locked as you got ready to sing the last verse, ‘you know i want you, it’s not a secret i try to hide, but i can’t have you, we’re bound to break and my hands.. are tied’. you breathed as the audience broke out in cheers, ‘y/n’ you looked up at him again, flicking between his lips and eyes, ‘shoto’ you smiled, before you could say another word he held your waist before putting a hand on your jaw.
‘y/n i’m so fucking in love with you’ he breathed closing his eyes as if he was waiting for rejection, your eyes widened and then it hit you, jirou was teaching todoroki the dance and the song, that’s why she barely showed up, that’s why they were together that night, your smile wider than it’s ever been, you put your arms around his neck and kissed him his lips gentle on yours, the cheers around you grew louder and you could hear a couple people sobbing as you both pulled away, ‘i love you too shoto’ he beamed at you, his smile melting your heart.
as you both got off stage your class surrounded you screaming ‘THAT WAS FUCKING INCREDIBLE’ kirishima and denki screamed, momo was sobbing as well as hagakure and uraraka. ‘y/n i’m so sorry for making you think any different about the performance and probably causing you a lot of worry’ jirou said sympathetically, ‘are you kidding, jirou i couldn’t thank you enough’ you smile hugging the girl, ‘guys seriously that was incredible, even kaachan had his mouth open’ midoriya rambled making you both laugh, ‘I DID NOT DEKU’ he yelled at the green haired boy, todoroki pulled you into his arms again ‘shoto, are you okay’ you pouted returning the hug ‘it’s taken me so long to say something, i’m just so glad we’re finally here’ he beamed kissing your forehead, ‘that was AMAZING young todoroki, young y/n, to see a young couple with such chemistry perform!!’ all might yelled making you laugh and thank the elder. you both walked back to the makeup room to find makeup remover, ‘i can’t believe it took us this long’ you pout as he laughed pulling you into his chest ‘i’m glad i have you now’ he grinned placing small kisses on forehead making you giggle, you grabbed the makeup remover, ‘l/n, todoroki that was a great show’ aizawa peeked his head through the door, you both thanked him as he walked back to the staff office, momo had to do your makeup again since you had to have photos taken in the outifts you performed in so you quickly took the photos and got changed into normal clothes before mirio asked you both to look after eri while he got aizawa sensei. you had met eri before when she came over to the dorms and she surprisingly liked you a lot, and todoroki for that matter, she laughed with you as you got her some chocolate, ‘thank you y/n-san’ she beamed at you. mirio came back with aizawa as it’s time for them to leave, you said your goodbyes. you all trudged back to your dorms exhausted, you took a shower and changed into an oversized jumper with sleeping shorts, walking back into your room to see todoroki on your bed with wet hair, he was picking through movies, you sat next to him placing a towel on his lap and laying your head there, ‘what are you doing’ he smirked, ‘i don’t want to get your legs wet’ he laughed a little at you as he picked a movie, he ran his hands through your hair tracing your nose and lips making you giggle, ‘we rewrote the stars’.

Lucky it Was Hotdogs
So! This is my gift for the @jatp-gift-exchange celebrating 6 months since the show came out. I just so happened to be assigned my friend @tmp-jatp as my giftee. Which is awesome because she’s awesome. She asked for angst and my first thought was my reputation is just going to get worse. 😂 And then I started writing, started over, changed to a different prompt two more times...had a few breakdowns but here we are! Basically all of my friends had to hear about my spiral the last couple of days so thank you and my apologies. 🙏
T, I hope you like it! 💜💜💜
In some ways Luke thinks that it’s lucky it was hot dogs.
Of course, if he had been asked to choose a way to go back in 95 he probably would have said old and in his sleep. Or maybe he would have been a smart ass and said jumping the grand canyon on a motorcycle or playing an epic show in bad weather and having some sort of electrical incident (Reggie wasn’t the only one who had been involved in that amp incident not that he was in a hurry to tell Alex that). Contaminated hot dogs in an alley on the night of their big break probably wouldn’t have occurred to him and it definitely wouldn’t have cracked the top ten list of his requests.
But now that he’s in the future, with his band and with Julie and with their dreams once again a real possibility...he thinks the hot dogs would have been the right choice.
The truth is it doesn’t matter how tragic it is that three kids had their lives cut short at the same time it’s always going to be at least a little bit funny that they went from death by hot dog. It lets him use the tragedy as a means of teasing Julie as she bites into her sandwich and it lets Willie give Alex an affectionate nickname that’s only a little in bad taste. It lets Reggie hover behind Ray when Julie’s dad gets the grill out and clutch his stomach dramatically in a reenactment for his friends amusement. It lets Julie look at Luke like the fact that he is a ghost is mildly exasperating but not inherently upsetting, not like it would be if he was a walking reminder of a car accident or the cancer that took her mom.
So yeah, it’s lucky it was hot dogs.
Except...sometimes Luke wishes that it wasn't.
Sometimes he wishes that he had died from an illness or an accident or anything that would prompt someone to look at him and ask if he wanted to talk about it. Because...he does. Just sometimes. Wants to talk about how much it hurt. Wants to talk about how scared he was. Wants to talk about how even though being able to make music still (being able to make music with Julie) matters most it does bother him.
It bothers him that Julie is the only lifer he can touch (even though she would clearly be his first choice).
It bothers him that he fades into non-existence as soon as they stop playing.
It bothers him that he can’t even thank Julie’s dad for hosting their garage gig or show her brother that he’s holding it all wrong when he catches him strumming lightly on Luke’s guitar one day.
It bothers him that he won’t ever be anything other than what he is, a teenager with a guitar and a longstanding suspicion about the consequences of wearing sleeves while performing.
It bothers him that Julie will always be what she is now (an amazing teenage girl with a wrecking ball voice and a heart big enough to keep them with her through sheer force of will) but she will also become so much more.
An adult.
Someone with a job and a family and…
He can’t think about it.
Except he does.
Not all the time but often enough, especially at night when Alex is off with Willie and Reggie is watching tv with an unsuspecting Ray and Luke is wishing more than anything that he could find the escape of sleep.
So usually he ends up writing when he feels like this, seeking out the familiar sensation of pen flying over paper, words tumbling from the deepest recesses of his mind to collect into the shape of a song.
I know I’m being selfish
But feeling alive isn’t being alive
Feeling you breathe isn’t breathing
I just want this feeling forever
Instead I count every moment I’m stealing
“Why are you writing in the dark?” Julie’s amused voice cuts through the silence causing him to jump, a remnant of a time when he had anything to fear other than his own uncertain future.
He’s not sure if it’s a ghostly superpower or just the fact that he had been peering at his notebook from only about an inch away but it’s true, he hadn’t bothered to turn the light on and he saw it just fine.
The dark felt more appropriate somehow when he felt like this anyway.
She flips on the light and crosses the room to sink down beside him where he’s spread out on the floor. He’s so distracted for a moment by just how Julie she always manages to be (beautiful and amazing and distracting in the best way) that he doesn’t realize that she’s reaching for his notebook until it’s too late. He tries to snatch it back fruitlessly as she turns her eyes to the words he has scrawled across the page. He hopes momentarily that she won’t be able to make out his infamously illegible handwriting but his hopes are dashed when she reads out the last few lines in a thoughtful tone. He has a brief flash of affection at the realization that she must be his soulmate if she can read his handwriting.
He’s distracted from that thought though when he sees the smile slide off of her face only to be replaced with a tight frown before she turns to face him, concern shining in her eyes.
“I’m fine,” He says quickly, hoping to prevent any of his dark mood from seeping into the girl beside him.
The girl who has already known enough darkness for a lifetime.
“Every moment you’re stealing?” She quotes back to him, setting the notebook carefully back on the floor. “That doesn’t sound fine.”
He considers brushing off her concern, playing it off, claiming he’s not even writing from his own perspective anyway, that he doesn’t know where the idea came from.
He can do that because he may be dead but the culprit was hot dogs and that gives him an out to make a dumb joke and change the subject and keep things the way they are now.
And if it was anyone else he would have. But it’s Julie. And he’s Luke.
She can read his handwriting.
And she can read him too.
If he lets her.
“You know how you said your dad made you talk to someone after your mom died?”
She tilts her head, clearly not expecting this question. She answers it anyway.
“Dr. Turner,” She nods. “Three times a week for a while.”
“Did it uh…” Luke swallows hard, his throat suddenly impossibly dry considering he was pretty sure he wasn’t actually producing spit anymore period. “Did it help?”
Julie’s hand twitches in her lap and he can tell she is deciding whether she should touch him. He reaches out to toy with the frayed edge of her jeans where they burst open at the knee. The answer to whether Julie should be touching him is always a resounding yes in his opinion but he also wants to let her come to him. It hasn’t been that long since they’ve even been able to touch each other and despite how much they crave it there’s a lingering awkwardness after all the build up.
“Talking to someone?” She asks carefully. “Yeah, it did. After a while I felt like I needed space to sort through things on my own but by then I was able to talk with my dad and Flynn too.”
He nods, keeps his eyes firmly on the hole in her jeans.
“Luke…”
Damn.
He has to look at her when she says his name like that.
He raises his eyes slowly, meeting her soft ones with nerves he can’t quite place.
“You know you can talk to me, right? Always.”
Her question is so small and yet so big at the same time. Such a simple offer containing such a big promise.
Always.
Wasn’t that the problem?
His always might not line up with hers.
He could forget that fact for a bit when the band was hanging out and laughing over nothing or rocking a crowd’s face’s off or when Julie was smiling in that certain Julie way that seemed reserved only for him.
But he couldn’t forget forever.
And he couldn’t promise always.
So where did that leave him?
“Luke?”
She breaks him from his thoughts again and he pushes past his caution this time, reaching out to link her hand with his, their fingers slotting together effortlessly despite the way one of them isn’t really there.
He isn’t really there.
Is he...real?
Luke suddenly feels a strange rush of panic, all of the thoughts he’s been pushing aside for months crashing through him at once.
He must have squeezed Julie’s hand inadvertently because he sees her flinch.
“Sorry, sorry,” He says breathlessly (not that he needs to breathe, he’s breathless, literally, he’s dead), drawing her hand up to press an apology against the skin there, his lips lingering for a long moment before he pulls away.
She’s not unaffected by his sudden actions, the way her eyes widen for a fraction of a second is proof enough of that, but she’s also determined and she doesn’t let him off the hook.
“Talk to me, Luke,” She says like an order and a request and a prayer all at once.
And he can’t deny her anything.
Not even this.
“I’m fine, I am...it’s just...I’m so happy that we ended up here with you Julie no matter what. I need you to know that ok? I just..I don’t...I don’t want…”
She waits as long as she can for him to finish that sentence but when he doesn’t seem prepared to, she leans closer, squeezes his hand, gives him that last push off the cliff he’s been teetering on the edge of for months.
“Don’t want what?”
“Don’t want to be dead.”
The words escape him in a hurried rush, one blending into another until it sounds like one long syllable of pain rather than a proper sentence. Still. He’s pretty sure the message got through.
“I know,” She says simply, her eyes sad but her touch impossibly gentle as her free hand comes up to cup his cheek. “I know, Luke, I know.”
He doesn’t realize he’s crying until she’s brushing his tears away with the delicate tips of her fingers.
And maybe he is real, at least a little bit if his eyes can still muster up the ability to leak like this and damn it why is that what he’s thinking about right now when the girl, the living girl, he loves is waiting for him to say something.
He wants to think of the perfect thing but what ends up coming out leaves a lot to be desired.
“Julie...I love making music with you. I love y...I love being in your life. But I’m dead. And maybe...maybe it would be better…”
“No,” She cuts him off firmly, gripping his chin lightly to turn his face more fully towards hers. “Whatever you think you’re about to say, the answer is no.”
“Julie…” He tries again.
She’s already shaking her head.
“I don’t care if you’re about to suggest some noble sacrifice or push me away or blame yourself for something...just...don’t.”
Any protest he has prepared dies on his lips, the slightest quirk of a smile taking their place even as a few stray tears make their way down his face.
“Ok,” He agrees simply.
Julie brings her other hand down to grip his knee as though she’s trying to keep him with her by anchoring him physically, making him part of her, making him real.
And that’s that.
It takes time.
A hundred aborted conversations with half confessions and unspoken requests for comfort and love freely given if not freely spoken.
But eventually he gets used to talking to Julie the same way he got used to writing with Julie and singing with Julie and falling in love with Julie.
So steadily he doesn’t feel the progress until one day he looks up and there’s no going back, not that he would ever want to.
He’s dead.
He can’t get around that.
He ate some bad hot dogs, and that will always be a little bit funny. It’s also sad and scary and tragic.
He’s dead.
But he’s also so alive.
He can’t promise always but he can promise as long as I’m here.
And he does.
Over and over and over again.
