I actually really want Eugene to officiate the Varigo wedding because one, it’s not a very official or proper wedding. If anything, it’s something Rapunzel and Varian put together in one week and is essentially just a giant party where they blow stuff up and eat cake. Varian totally asks Eugene thirty minutes beforehand if he will officiate and after five minutes of sobbing, he agrees.

And two, because I want him to say this line-

As someone who knows nothing about Oberon but loves your art: where do I start if I want to understand your love for the man?

oh man. oh jeez ( wheezing ) haha okay. uhm. erhm. i didnt expect to get this far uhm ( shaking )

so here's the problem: oberon is from lostbelt 6, a chapter in hit gacha game fate/grand order. you can play f/go if you want and chug along to lb6 - which is unfortunately a chapter 6~ years into the game's main story. but i cannot with any sort of conscious recommend a gacha game to people.

so playing the game is one option. option two is checking out atlas academy database, a website that has all of fgo's stories and such conveniently catalogued! click 'main story' on the top of the page and it'll give you just, well, the main story.

if you want to watch the stories themselves - which at least for lostbelt 6 i highly recommend because the OST is amazing - there's also this commentary free LP on youtube that i've linked to people!

that being said that is still a lot of words to get to lostbelt 6, so- if you don't want to read everything pre-lostbelt 6, i recommend going to the typemoon wiki and reading the summary on each story pre lostbelt 6 ( so, up to lostbelt 5.5 ). just click on the link in each chart and you can find a detailed beat-by-beat summary of each chapter.

i've been told that, in all honesty, that lostbelt 6 is still enjoyable and easy to understand without full context for the outside story beats. it certainly reads like a fairly self-contained story outside a few things needed to understand why some characters are here in the first place, so i've been considering writing up a summary on just those key points / the premise to the lostbelts so that people can read that and then jump right into lostbelt 6 and love oberon...

Of course you are. He sighed and looked around. His voice reverberated with the dual-tone indicative of their bond. “How do you even know where we’re going?”

“Well, let’s see…” Lunella started counting on her fingers. “It’s after eleven. You’re gooped up. You’re using the bell tower instead of a normal entrance. You don’t even want anyone to know your name, much less where you are going, and Devil isn’t picking up any indication that you’re hungry.”

Normie stared at the dinosaur. “How can he tell?”

“I could explain it to you, but the odds that you’ll only get annoyed are roughly eighty–”

“Okay, okay; forget I asked."

Thoughts on the anime and/or manga (if you've read the manga) versions of Gemini Spark?

Ahhh the other medias. Very conflicted feelings about those.

I... really wish I could like anime Gemini Spark. The fights with them and Mega Man are great to watch. They're like cartoon villains causing problems on purpose for most of the show. And I think I'd like them a decent amount... if they were different characters and not Gemini Spark. I don't know how else to word it, but that ain't Pat there. That's Gemini and Gemini 2 and they're the same. And I get their appeal if the anime was someone's first exposure, but... after playing the game? They stripped any character traits Pat may have had just to make him Gemini's puppet for the whole show. It is genuinely hard to think of character traits that anime Pat has. He doesn't even like flowers. Tragedy. Rey not being there at all doesn't help. I... don't know why they decided to take such a different route with them in the anime compared to the game, but I can't say I really appreciated it.

Is it bad to say that if I had to write either anime or manga Gemini Spark, I'd pick manga? Since anime Pat aforementioned doesn't have much going for him it's not really a high bar to clear but... still. The manga's tone is... a mess, in my opinion. It's full of low-brow humor at every turn, but then they also took Gemini Spark's whole backstory and motivation surprisingly seriously. Which does not fit everything else at all but... it at least makes them compelling. They retained Pat's backstory from the game! That's a plus! And I think both of them being driven to fight to prove the worth of their existence since they've only ever been seen as garbage is... weirdly sweet considering everything else happening in those books. And Crown Thunder being their mentor! I liked that!

Gemini Black's expressions are wack though, let's just. Let's just get that out of the way. He's freaky. And also the part where they fuse into their "perfect form"?? That was. A thing. I really don't know how I feel about that to be honest. It's kinda cool but also very silly. those guys just digivolved for real

Oh btw just wanted to make a post to let people know that I have seen the trailer for the mini-series (And yes, if you didn't know the trailer isn't for season 2 it's just a mini series)

And as much as I would love to give my in depth thoughts on the trailer, sadly I cannot do that because all my brain wants to focus on is COLE!!!! THERE HE IS HE'S BACK!!!! I LOVE COLE NINJAGO!!!!!!!

I don't know a massive amount about cartoons but top 5 cartoons?

AAHHHH!! Well firstly thank you so much for sending this! I'm a bit of a cartoon fanatic. I guess i just never really grew out of them?? and when I'm feeling sad they just make me feel so much happier so I tend to just recycle and re-watch them over an over again. The nostalgia I get from them is just unreal! So I'm just gonna answer these with gifs and talk about why i love them so much! :D

1. Pokemon

Pokemon has to be the 1st one for me! Just love everything about it! (Although nowadays watching it can be a little tiresome as it's the same plot every episode lol) But it was such a big part of my childhood growing up. The XY series is particular is the best and actually has a good story to it and isn't just team rocket tryna steal Pikachu all the time lol (and my beautiful otp came from it too so I'll love it forever).

2. American Dragon

What's not to love about American Dragon? A kid who can turn into a dragon is pretty awesome tbh. (I even wrote story at uni based on it) And i love how it educates you on Chinese culture. There's not many cartoons or tv shows in general that do. Plus i love the forbidden romance between jake and rose. It's so deliciously painful haha (Cartoons in general do romance better than most Hollywood films lol)

3. Kim Possible

Who didn't watch this growing up?! It was just too iconic! And let's acknowledge just how rare it was/still kinda is to have a female lead in a cartoon too - let alone a redhead as well! (Redheads really don't get much love in media do they) And don't get me started on Kim and Ron. Probably the best friends to lovers relationship to ever exist (I shipped them before I even knew what shipping meant lol). Plus Drakken is the funniest villain ever lol

4. Teen Titans

Teen Titans is literally the only DC thing I like lol. I'm not majorly into superhero things in general but this show is just so brilliantly done and not afraid to go to some dark places. Honestly love cartoons that feel like they're not just for kids and this is definitely one of them. And one of my favourite things about is how each series focuses on them and their own personal villains. (Plus I got the idea for my main WIP from watching this)

5. Ben 10

I'm a big sci-fi lover so a dude that can turn into aliens is right up my street! It's also kinda superhero themed and I love that Ben and his friends are basically defenders of the galaxy too (plumbers as they call it in the show) which is really cool. Also it's one of the very few cartoons that actually let the charcters age and you see the main characters grow up with you which I really like. (One thing I hate about Pokemon - Why did they have to keep Ash 10 lol). But yeah this one was a big part of my childhood too and one I always will come back to
