Lmao guess who’s replaying Fallout 4…
Funni comic based on my something I’m doing in my Survival run (which I know isn’t that hard but I’m not really a hardcore gamer in the first place so it’s challenging enough lmao). I wanted to try to be in a relationship with all the companions but since you can’t auto save and stuff I decided to just rack up as much charisma bonuses I can via clothing before the final Flirt check (and yes I know I could save if I ask them to talk later and just find a bed but where’s the fun in that?)
So it results in me going “oh hold on-“ *frantically changes into suit and puts on stupid wig and glasses* “Hey I love you- be in a relationship it’s me 👍” and I though it was such a hilarious visual I had to draw it out.
Plus bonus random meme that I kind of made up because the image of this man managing to pull multiple people while spontaneously dressing on the spot into this goofy ass fit (the glasses are so large on the face- like why are they that big 💀💀💀) was so funny to me
#fallout 4#preston garvey#not sure what else to tag#super hot opinion but I actually like Fallout 4 a lot#I think the entire companion system makes the game for me#the story is crap- but not as bad as Fallout 3s lol#sorry fallout 3 fans#also the hold breath feature in 4 when using the sniper rifle#hate that it’s not in earlier games#though to be fair I played 4 first#and I heard that skews your view on the rest of the Fallout series so#take what I say about the game with a grain of salt

Call of Duty 80s Action Heroes Update Release Time and MOAB Details
https://ift.tt/3eW28q7
Call of Duty is getting its most action-packed DLC yet with the arrival of the ’80s Action Heroes update and the Season 3 midseason patch. For Call of Duty: Warzone, Black Ops Cold War, and Call of Duty Mobile, this means iconic action movie heroes John Rambo (First Blood) and John McClane (Die Hard) are dropping into the game as new Operators, complete with their iconic get-ups as well as a few of the famous locations from their films.
In Warzone, players will be able to take the fight to Die Hard‘s Nakatomi Corporation building, which will replace the Broadcast Tower. This will be the perfect place to live out your John McClane Christmas fantasy, with “five floors of a space that will be familiar to those who know and love the original Die Hard,” according to Activision, which also confirms the building will be the tallest structure in Verdansk ’84.
“Nakatomi Plaza features multiple optional missions that can be completed during Battle Royale and Plunder for rewards both in-game and for your profile. This includes exploring the tower for Supply Boxes, defusing C4 on the tower’s roof, and interrupting an arms deal gone wrong,” Activision said in a blog post. “If you and your squad are lucky enough, you may even be able to do what no international criminal has been able to pull off before: successfully crack the Nakatomi Plaza vault and escape with its riches. But be forewarned that you won’t be the only Operators looking for the keys to the vault.”
On the Rambo side, Warzone‘s map will also get 10 “Survival Camps” as an homage to Rambo: First Blood Part II: “Find any of these 10 camps across the map, and you could walk out with some solid loadout items or the dog tags of comrades who fell long before your arrival. Collect enough of them, and you may be able to get an even greater reward.”
Finally, a CIA Outpost has been added to one of the aircraft hangars in the northwest sector of Verdansk. Built as a place for “agents” to track Rambo, it’s also being used as an HQ to “search for any identification of fallen soldiers and may bring in some air reinforcements should enough of them be collected for extraction. Maybe this can be used to stage an ambush that only a true guerilla warfare expert could handle.”
If you want to see how this all looks, check out the trailer below:

Why Call of Duty Warzone’s Anti-Cheat Updates Remain Controversial
By Matthew Byrd
New Call of Duty Season 3 Reloaded Features
The ’80s Action Heroes update also brings a new limited-time Warzone mode called Power Grab, which will put over 100 players in a smaller starting circle than you’re likely used to. Circle collapses will happen in five stages and there will be no Gulag, meaning dead is dead unless your teammates manage to buy you back or collect enough Dog Tags to bring you back. Dog Tags can be collected off of dead Operators or as rewards for finishing contracts or hiding in supply boxes. Dog Tags can also be redeemed for rewards, such as a UAV, Respawn Token, and Advanced Gas Masks and Specialist Bonuses.
Black Ops Cold War Season 3 Reloaded will bring three new modes to the game. The first two are Die Hardpoint and Rambo’s Gun Game (out in Week 2), which play similarly to the standard modes but with some twists, such as buffs when you capture a hardpoint and additional firepower in Gun Game. The third is Multi-Team Elimination, which mixes traditional multiplayer with a battle royale-lite experience, pitting 10 teams of four against each other to be the last team standing. The update also introduces two new maps, the 6v6 Standoff and the much bigger, multi-team Duga, which is set in the Ural Mountains.
Call of Duty Mobile‘s new Guns Blazing mode will let players rack up kills for a chance to transform into Rambo or McClane. The mode will be available from May 20 to June 2.
An ’80s Action Heroes meta event will task players with completing 18 challenges across Warzone and Black Ops Cold War for rewards. Finishing all of the nine Black Ops Cold War challenges will get you a semi-automatic tactical rifle Weapon Blueprint, checking off the nine Warzone challenges will reward you with a Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle Weapon Blueprint.
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
New Call of Duty Season 3 Reloaded Weapons
In Warzone, new weapons include Rambo’s Combat Bow, a Killstreak which allows you to shoot explosive arrows at your enemies, while the projectile-shooting Ballistic Knife lets you perform melee attack both up close and from a distance.
Two new weapons, the Baseball Bat and AMP63 Pistol, will be added to Black Ops Cold War in season 3 before joining Warzone in season 4. “Obtain the AMP63 and Baseball Bat during Season 3 Reloaded in one of two ways: complete an in-game challenge to obtain the free base weapon or pick up a bundle with a Blueprint version when it appears in the Store.”
When Is the “MOAB” Being Released?
With Season 3 reaching midseason, players are still wondering if this means the mythical “MOAB” — or “Mother of All Bundles” — DLC is closer to becoming a reality. While Call of Duty watchdog site COD Tracker recently debunked that the massive $100 bundle, which was rumored to include (among other things) every Battle Pass cosmetic from Modern Warfare‘s six seasons, was even coming to Warzone, some fans are still wondering if the recent “MOAB” leak on the Call of Duty website and app could point to a re-bundle of those old cosmetics for the Black Ops Cold War era.
The fact is that it’s unlikely the MOAB will ever arrive, even as Activision continues to find new ways to add DLC to Warzone. According to COD Tracker, the MOAB leak is actually a collection of unused assets that have existed in the Modern Warfare game files since 2019 and were likely scrapped by the developers. While Rambo and John McClane might be making their way to Call of Duty, don’t hold your breath for the MOAB.
You can find the complete details, including what’s coming to Black Ops Cold War‘s Zombies mode, here.

Deus Ex -- The First One
I’ve been slowly but steadily running out of single player games lately, the story driven, rich with character arcs, 30 hour campaign kind of single player games. And by the time I’m writing this entry, I’m really really REALLY scraping the bottom of my barrel. But this barrel scraping condition might be the push I needed to finally go retro and explore the legendary PC games our forefathers played. One of them was available on my steam family sharing list, which is Deus Ex.
Yes, THAT Deus Ex
Now, of course I never played the original Deus Ex when it first came out. It was 2002, I wasn’t even 10 years old yet and might have still pissed my own pants. I didn’t even knew there was a game called Deus Ex that was available on PC. My first exposure to Deus Ex was Deus Ex: Human Revolution. The Adam Jensen one, of the “I never asked for this” fame.
I remember playing DE:HR for a while, I went with the shooty-shooty bang bang style because that’s what I’m familiar with. Of course I got shot to death every time, because being an augmented super soldier means you’re still weak to bullets. I then took it as a kind of subtle hint from the game telling me to be stealthy. I proceed to fuck right off because I used to hate stealth tactics in FPS RPGs. It’s not until my second playthrough of Skyrim and Fallout 3 that I started to favor stealthy approach in these kind of games. By the way I can already start feeling the death stares of old timey purists that comes from me comparing Deus Ex with Bethesda RPGs, so I’m gonna stop.
yeah, kinda like that
Look, point is, all I’m saying is that I used to dislike stealth approaches, but now I kinda like it. So that’s how I plan on approaching this game.
Now that I’ve spent two paragraphs justifying why I haven’t played the game, time to actually talk about it.
The moment I booted it, it truly feels like early 2000s PC game, with the really boring main menu and a thousand controls that you can remap freely. There’s even keys for you to look using the keyboard. This makes me google to find out if mouse-look simply wasn’t a thing in the early age of PC FPS games. To my surprise, it wasn’t. Holy hell, old people are fucking hardcore. Well maybe it’s just leftover from the age of DOOM, but I can’t imagine a fully 3D FPS without mouse-look. But all of those is managed by simple remaps. Let’s see if I can handle everything else.
On my first play, I fucked up. A lot. The training session ended with me crawling in fear behind a box after my limbs got shot to hell by the robot. I couldn’t reload an older save because there is no auto save or checkpoints. The fact that I didn’t bother saving manually didn’t help either. I decide to power on through, wriggling my way over the bridge and to the next area. The hologram man then proceeded to nonchalantly compliment and brief the bleeding torso, and send me off to the first mission.
My first try on the first mission ended with me getting poisoned to death by the first two enemies. Thing is, I didn’t know what gave me the poison status nor did the training prepare me for it. All I know is that my guy is coughing and the screen is flashing, and then he keeled over in pain. Hell, I’m not even sure it was poison that killed me. I just concluded that from the fact that you can invest some training in poison resistance, which means there is poison damage in the game. I could’ve died from some augmented Avian Flu for all I know, those damned augmented seagulls.
Science HAS gone too far
The next try ended with me getting shot by two guards because my prod was out of charge and I ended up patting the guards with a puny stick. OK, I was careless, that was fair. The next try ended because I got ROFLstomped by a robot shaped like a photocopier, although this one is armed with two machine guns instead of overpriced ink cartridges. So much for me trying to be stealthy.
After doing the equivalent of free-style faceplants, I decide to get back to my roots. To the good old-fashioned shotgun diplomacy. Good thing I am supplemented with a pistol and a badass sniper rifle. I then went in, confident as hell, and I die anyway because the photocopier is gun proof. But at least I learned that enemies from far away didn’t hear the gunshot rumble happening out front, so I can combine stealth and non-stealth approach next.
Third approach, I shot and prodded a few guards, made it to the gate, hacked it open, only to find out that the photocopier is already turning my ass into Swiss cheese. I rushed in and hid behind a cardboard box, and the photocopier says it’s lost my track. Thankfully the training session has prepared me for cowering behind cardboard boxes from killer robots. The photocopier then decides to go back and disappoint all the office workers by jamming on A4 papers. I was breathing free for a while, I even had the time to patch up all the extra anus on my ass. The moment lasted until I saw a guard had spotted me and ran towards the alarm. At that point, I just gave up and let the guards shoot me back to the main menu.
I then gave up on playing the game, and decide to reflect on the lessons I learned
This experience got me thinking; have I really taken all modern gaming features and simplicity for granted? I’m so used to autosaving everytime I go through a door. A checkpoint before and after a tough encounter. UIs that explains everything that’s happening. Big great objective indicators floating on the horizon. Now that I played a game from the pioneer era, I’m really feeling all the crutches I had all these time, yanked violently, and left me falling flat on the face.
But is that all there is to it? Did I truly dislike it because of all the clunky old tech this game was built on? To seek the answer, I have to imagine this game, built on the marvels of modern technology and renewed design principles. Oh wait, I don’t have to, they’ve made two of those already! So I just have to remember my experience of playing DE:HR which I actually already discussed on an earlier paragraph. And if you remember it, you’ll know that I also didn’t like it that much. I might try it again one day, but I guess I can’t do stealth unless it’s the Bethesda brand of stealth. You know, where everyone has cataracts as long as you crouch and think it must’ve been the wind responsible for the 27 arrows on their neck
In Brief
Whatever legendary depth and complexity and RPG elements this game had, I couldn’t enjoy it because I couldn’t get into the game. It’s not the game, it’s me. Everything is too clunky or complicated for me. This truly got me thinking if all the hand holding and railroading is a natural evolution of gaming. Maybe it was needed to make gaming easier and more accessible, and all around more comfortable. Maybe the current gen has pushed it too far and made things too simple, losing all challenge in the process, but I wouldn’t know. The evolution crept so gradually that only after jumping 18 years back that I truly notice such significant difference.
I think all the people who protest too much about these modern linear ways need to play this kind of old game to straighten their viewpoint. For those of you who found out you disliked the old ways, come join the club. For those of you who preferred and excelled in the old ways, come beat the club with a stick.

- Azura’s P.O.V-
“If you don’t get this done Zada I’m not paying you.”
“If you don’t shut the hell up I’ll shoot you instead.” I grumbled, taking my earpiece out.
I repositioned the butt of the sniper against my shoulder, resting my cheek by the scope as I closed my left eye. I tightened my hold on my sniper rifle, the barrel of the gun resting on the stand as I tried to get a clear shot of the target. The building was crawling with security but luckily the target only had two of his men with him. With one clear shot to the head I could wipe him out I just had to get a steady look and-
Click
Squeezing the trigger lightly I took the shot, confirming that the target was hit straight in the head before removing my eye from the scope. I start dismantling the rifle as fast and calmly as I could. I started counting to a minute, never allowing myself more time due to difficulties I faced when I was still a rookie in this field. By the time I hit twenty seconds I had stuffed the dismantled rifle into my duffel bag, the stand right next to it. Looking down at my watch I got up and headed for the door that led down from the roof.
I cursed as two well built men burst through the door. Taking a quick look at my surroundings I said fuck it and ran. Running across the roof I jumped as soon as I reached the edge. I had built up enough speed to jump a longer distance, angling my body so I could roll over my shoulder and land safely on the smaller building’s roof. I came to a stop as I kneeled on one knee, looking up to see the men were staring at me wide-eyed. I grinned cockily, straightening out and giving them a mock salute before turning my back on them. Quickly running down the fire escape I made it onto the streets.
“The money better be deposited into my bank account by noon today or you’ll be the next dead body they find.” I told the client as I called them.
I hung up the phone before they had a chance to respond. Breaking the burner phone in half I threw it away in a nearby trash can, blending in with the horde of people straight afterward. I made my way through the street quietly, keeping my head down and my face out of sight. I hadn’t been caught yet and I wasn’t planning on it.
It’s been about four years since I started doing what I do, Zada becoming my alias. I actually started out pretty young considering the fact that I’m only twenty two and I’m the best at what I do at such a young age. I’ve lived off of the fact that I was ruthless, with both my clients and targets. I usually specialize in long ranged attacks but I also use stealth to get up close if need be, my fighting skills up to par with the best of the best. The one and only thing I refused to do was involve children by any means necessary. If a child is seen at the scene I bail, reprimanding my client for excluding that detail and never working with that person again.
…..
-The next day-
“Esmeree! You’re gonna be late! I’m not signing another note if you’re late for school again!” I yelled up the stairs, glancing at the clock to see she only had twenty minutes to get to school.
I sighed, going back into the kitchen to finish packing her lunch. I remember when our mother used to do this for me. At least one of us has to remember our parents. Esmeree was four while I was seventeen when both our parents were killed by a drunk driver on their way home. Since then I’ve been the one raising my baby sister, refusing help from my relatives since they were never there when my parents were around, I didn’t need them now that my parents were gone. Now five years later Esmeree and I had everything we could ever need. Regardless of how I obtained the money I made sure to give her everything she needed.
“Azura I can’t find my shoes.” She whined as she made her way downstairs, “Oh wait, nevermind.”
I chuckled at her forgetfulness, something she picked up from our father when he was alive. While I put the last thing into her lunchbag my phone rang, more specifically my work phone. I let out a breath before picking up.
“I have a job for you.” The woman on the other line said.
“I just need a name, you already know this. I don’t know why you bother with anything else.” I responded, handing Esmeree her lunch and waving to her as she ran out to go to school.
“It’s two this time.”
I combed my fingers through my hair, heading to my office, “Give me a minute.”
Once inside I walked over to my desk, sitting down and pressing the hidden button under the desk. I sat back and waited, watching my seemingly normal office transform. The bookshelf was switched out for a rack of my weapons, all various sizes. The desk in front of me opened up and transformed into a desk with holographic features, the large tv I had on the wall flipped over and left in it’s place several smaller ones that were hooked up to the city’s security feeds.
“Names?”
“Park Gwansoo and Jang Sejoon.”
“Koreans?” I questioned, typing the names out on my laptop.
“They’re here on business, I want you to kill them by tonight.”
I didn’t say anything as I simply hung up, too engrossed on finding anything and everything out about these two men. I didn’t even have to look for long, knowing all there was to know within five minutes. The two were politicians, very corrupt ones at that. I scoffed, thinking how I once again had to deal with politicians. But I didn’t discriminate, a job was a job.
I found out that they’d be at a banquet at eight p.m. that night. I pulled out the layout of the building, inspecting how many floors were involved and if the exits would be a problem. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary so I pulled out the layout of the surrounding neighborhood, using the holographic display to look at all angles of the location. The only strange thing was that the building the banquet would be held at had about two underground floors. My best guess was that the two politicians would meet with whoever the hell they were meeting there, the banquet simply being a diversion.
I walked around my desk, grabbing my duffel bag and headed to the rack of weapons on display. Knowing that I wouldn’t be able to use my sniper I picked up two nine millimeter automatic pistols, remembering to pack extra magazines. I grabbed a large doubled sided knife, making sure that I had sharpened it beforehand. Stuffing that into the duffel I grabbed about three daggers, all tipped with some sort of poison. Slinging the bag over my shoulder I headed out of the room, heading over to change into clothes for the job.
-
“You have an hour to get this done.” She said loud and clear through my earpiece.
I cursed, slipping through a particularly smaller space of the air duct. This was my only way of getting into the two lower levels but I was able to slip in without anyone noticing. I ignored her as I continued making my way down, stopping every once in awhile to make sure I hadn’t alerted anyone of my presence by mistake.
“Why not take the elevator like a normal person?”
“Because...I’m not attending the banquet...like a fucking normal person.” I retorted, pulling out my earpiece and shutting her up like before.
I sighed in relief when I made it down to the lower levels. Pulling up my mask slightly to make sure that the majority of my face was covered I unscrewed the bolts of the air duct. Raising the cover up I poked my head out, making sure I was in the clear before lowering myself down from the air duct.
Landing lightly on my feet I patted down my holsters, making sure my guns were in place as well as the hidden daggers in each of my boots and the one in the sleeve of my right arm. Once I was done checking over my weapons I crept down the hallway quietly. Laying flat against the wall I peeked my head around the corner. There were two guys standing guard at the door which led to the lower level, my targets being just behind that door. Taking a deep breath I went for it head on.
I sprinted towards them, dodging the bullets leaving their guns. I pulled my guns out of their holsters and slid across the floor. I shot the leg of the one closest to me, shooting the other in the chest. Both fell to the ground, one dead while the other clutched onto his leg. I got up swiftly, shooting the one cradling his leg in the chest, not wanting to risk him alerting the others on the upper levels.
Holstering one of my guns I headed for the door and to no surprise a staircase lay behind it. It led down to another door, again guarded but by only one man. So instead of getting up close to him I simply shot him down from where I stood, getting a clean shot to the head. I watched as his now dead body fell to the floor. I walked down the stairs, sighing as I grabbed onto his arms and dragged him away from the door. Once he was out of the way I put my ear against the door, trying to figure out how many people were in the room. I was able to count five voices, two female and three male.
I reached down to take my other gun out of its holster, taking a deep breath before going to open the door. Before I could, however, I heard the distinct click of someone cocking their gun behind me, the barrel of the gun resting against my head shortly afterward.
“Sorry to cut in but we’ll take it from here sweetheart.”

When My Back Aches - Part 5
Here is part five of the story @beachsequence and @bonos-grindcore-sideproject got me started on. Links to parts One, Two, Three, and Four. This section starts immediately after the events of Part Three (”I Work for the Queen”). The two women from Part 4 (”Perfect Mate”) are now in Paul’s apartment. The story opens with someone shooting at Paul O’Connell, and a sniper rifle features prominently. There is no blood, only two creepy Americans who really love their guns (I’m not a gun-loving American - I swear!). Paul is revealed to have a chronic injury, and this short section ends with a bang. Story below the jump, as usual.
“Oh, you’re good. You’re very good. But not good enough.” The American smiled. It was not a nice smile. Paul felt a tremor of fear role through his body, followed by the sensation of being caught in a crosshair of sorts. He glanced down, and noticed that there was a small red-dot, dead-center, on his chest. The exact sort used by snipers… Paul reacted instinctively, throwing himself to the floor as several gunshots thundered through his kitchen.
Paul hit the floor, rolling as he cursed the Americans for being so trigger happy. He also counted the number of shots and the time between them. He was a cop, after all. He guessed that his shooter was using a single-shot sniper rifle, which was faster to shoot, but took longer to load, given the almost full second between shots. 6 shots in total. Now what? He thought as he crouched under his kitchen table. Wait for the Garda? He decided to wait and see what would happen next.
After just a few minutes, though they felt like hours to Paul, his front door swung open, and a woman walked in, holding a case of sorts in her hand. She pulled her knit, slouched, beret off, revealing… short red hair. Bright blue eyes, eerily similar to the American still sitting at his kitchen table, gave him an unimpressed look. He looked up in time to see that woman pull a wig off, revealing long dark brown hair, which had somehow fit smoothly under her wig. Paul swung his gaze back to the new woman, watching her put a pair of sunglasses into an outside pocket of the case she was holding. After a moment, Paul realized that the sunglasses were shooters sunglasses, the kind worn primarily by snipers.
The second woman walked straight to the first one, forcefully handing her the case. She held out her right hand, fingers twitching in a “give it here” gesture. The first woman, the brunette, placed the case on Paul's kitchen table before pulling something from the small of her back and handing it to the redhead. The redhead seemed to relax slightly as she took the whatever it was and slid it into the small of her back, covered by her jacket.
“Did he pass the test?” The redhead asked. The brunette glanced at Paul.
“As he's neither fainted nor pissed himself…” The brunette had a noticeable accent - American Southern, if Paul was to guess.
“So he is, then.” The redhead sunk into a chair. She looked incredibly relieved.
“Oh, most assuredly, yes.” The brunette took the few steps over to Paul, and offered him a hand to his feet. Paul took it, instinctively noting the calluses. They were twofold - the distinctive ones of holding both a violin bow and a rifle. He got the impression that there was a rifle in the case, and it belonged to the brunette. Paul wobbled slightly as he got his feet under him, his long ago injured knee seizing in protest of having been forced into that position for more than a few minutes. The brunette helped him settle back into his chair, which he did with hitched breath, extending his leg on a sharp exhale. The redhead had a notepad out and was writing quickly with a fountain pen.
“Chronic injury?” She asked. “Carlyle speculated you might have one, given how you walk.” She looked up from her notes. “You favor your right leg. The cold and damp of Dublin isn't doing that injury any favors, you know.”
“I know,” Paul said. He focused on the redhead, correctly deciding she was in charge. “My doctor is trying to convince me to transfer somewhere on the west coast. Galway, usually.”
“You're Dublin born and bred. Doubt Galway would be your favorite place.” The brunette was rather perceptive.
“Yes, though I don't think you went to all this trouble just to ask me questions about my knee…” Paul leveraged himself to his feet, hissing as he did so. He limped to his kettle, flipping it on before pulling another mug down and putting a teabag in it. His hands were shaking, and his head was pounding. His vision was slightly fuzzy at the edges, but he didn't feel dizzy, so he decided not to worry about it. “Who are you, really?”
“Margarette Collins. Former American Special Forces.” The brunette extended her hand, again. Paul shook it, feeling a bit as though he’d been hit over the head. And he had been. More or less. “It’s nice to finally meet you in person - I’ve only ever seen you through a scope until today.”
“Patricia Coyne. You were right - I did serve in the Peace Corps,” the redhead said, extending her right hand. Paul reached out to shake it. His fingers had barely grazed hers when a shock of energy blew through both of them. Pat’s fingers tightened, her signet ring digging into his hand. Paul held on for dear life.

Character Research Project, Independent Study: Second Draft
To what extent can Jo Lupo be described as a strong female character and how does her animated alter-ego contradict this?
Imagine a town in the Pacific Northwest of America (Oregon,) that’s full of the world's geniuses. Life there shifts from incredible innovation to total chaos. This is A Town Called Eureka. The TV show where my character that I am going to be talking about comes from.
Thank
Jo, played by Erica Cerra, is my favorite character from the series but that’s not why I chose to analyse her. She’s interesting. In terms of characterization and development she goes on a journey. We get to see her grow and become vulnerable in a very mature way.
I’m this essay I’m going to be discussing the factors that make Jo a strong female character but I’m also going to analyse the internal battle that she has with herself and how the animated alter-ego could possibly be a representation of a repressed desire.
Jo Lupo. She starts off as a guarded individual our introduction to her is a closed off deputy who can disassemble and reassemble it in a matter of seconds.
Throughout the series we learn that Jo is very much an ally archetype character(Vogler 2007.) She sticks by and acts as a support for our hero Jack Carter. Emotionally and physically. Mostly physically.
She always has a weapon with her, and goes armed even in situations where weaponry is unnecessary.Jo has a love of weapons, with a varied and powerful collection stored in the station, including several handguns, shotguns, sniper rifles, and assault rifles. She is also unusually strong for her size as she can manhandle Jack Carter with ease. The residents of the town and their odd experiments try her patience, but those few moments where she gets to shoot something are the moments that Jo enjoys and looks forward to the most. The residents themselves know and trust Jo, She’s very dependable and gets the job done.
(Craddock, 2007)
Jo is also extremely independent to a fault. All of these factors make up the classic trope of a strong female character. We can see this more clearly by comparing Jo to Mulan (Disney’s Mulan 1998)
(Acuna and Oswald, 2019)
Mulan is stubborn, determined and as she shows when she climbs the pole, surprisingly strong. It isn’t just strength that determines a strong female character or any strong character. They need to be strong of the mind-able to face adversity head on and move on from it, they need to be stubborn/independent to a fault because that’s how they grow and change.
In the episode Noche de Suenos Jo reveals to Carter that she wanted to be a dancer as a young girl. In the same episode it is also revealed that she grew up without a mother but was old enough to remember the costumes her mother would make for her for various roles in school plays. Without her mother Jo grew up with three older brothers and a father. This led jo to believe that she had to “learn to survive” and so she gave up on her ambition to be a dancer.
This portrays a softer side to Jo’s character. A vulnerable side even. In the shows last season it’s also revealed that Jo is a big fan of weddings to the point where she likes to plan them and takes over planning Grace and Henry’s whilst going completely over the top with the preparations.
It’s this softer side to Jo that was the inspiration for how her animated alter ego was made to look.
in the episode “Do You See What I See?” a mysterious kaleidoscopic wave of colour washes over the town, transforming the characters into animated versions of themselves. This was caused by a Super Photon Generator And a holographic popup book crossing signals. The episode was animated by Curious Pictures and featured a style inspired by looney toons, claymation and anime. During this time the characters do not seem to be fundamentally changed but they often reflect the philosophy of the style that there animated in at the time.
In the Looney Toons style, developed by Tex Avery was designed to diverge from Disney-esque sentimentality and make cartoons that appealed equally to adults and children. A common quote associated with Avery's style “in cartoon you can do anything” (Adamson, 1975)
It is interesting to note that in both this and the claymation style, Jo is seen to be portrayed as a princess. One with a similar aesthetic to Snow White with just a slight colour palette shift. There’s even the singing birds to hammer the point in further.
(Frost, 2012)
(Joe, 2011)
(Rhiannon, 2018)
(McCreary, 2011)
Snow White was the first Disney princess. She’s only 14 so she comes across as vulnerable and perfect. Pure in a very pretty way. She’s overall innocent. Her colour palette only supports this. Based on information of colour theory (Rikard 2015) I can say that using bright read on the lips, head bad and inside cloak gives a sense of passion and joy to the character. The yellow of her dress can be associated with freshness and, again, joy. The freshness in particular applies because Snow White is very young and she was the first Disney character of her type so was like a breath of fresh air in the animation scene. Even using White in her name signifies purity and delicacy. Two things Snow White definitely represents.
When we compare Jo to this we can see that the colours work in a different way. Here the dark blue is important to Jo’s character as it represents knowledge, power, integrity and seriousness.
Jo has extensive knowledge of weapons and is quite the powerhouse. She’s quite serious, favouring practicality over passion and the use of dark blue is a tribute to that.
Using gloves alone is an interesting design choice. In this particular instance they represent Jo’s“camouflaged desire and emphasise her subconscious attempt to distance herself from
others, hiding their true character (dbmoviesblog, 2016.) Jo does tend to be distant. This was the shows Christmas special and it was seen that Jo was planning to spend the holidays working, avoiding her friends. It also relates to her ambition to be a dancer and how she keeps that desire under wraps and only ever told Carter. Using Light purple as the colour for the gloves makes the use of them even more interesting as light purple often evokes nostalgic feelings which would play into Jo’s memory of her home life and giving up on dreams.
To conclude. It is clear that Jo is a strong female character. She’s independent and can hold her own but based on how she is represented in animation, we can also say that she contradicts this slightly. Being represented as a trope that is supposed to be the pillar of vulnerability and femininity and being comparable to the dainty Snow White certainly gets is the way of that image that Jo portrays. It shows that she does go against it and that the strong woman character is just on the exterior and that at her core, Jo is quite feminine and girly. But don’t let her hear you say that.

It is a spin-off to the Sniper Elite series, released on March 6, 2015 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.[1] The premise of the game is that, in an alternative version of the final days of World War II, with the German army close to defeat, Adolf Hitler deploys a last resort plan to raise the fallen as zombies through occult rituals and turn them against Allied forces, thus causing Germany to become overrun with the undead. The trilogy includes a remastered version of the original Nazi Zombie Army and its sequel, which were both released in 2013 as standalone downloadable content for Sniper Elite V2, and a previously unreleased third installment in the series. The game, which can be played co-operatively or solo, features the single-player campaigns of the first two Nazi Zombie Army titles, alongside the new third chapter, combined into one Campaign mode, with a Horde mode similar to Killing Floor and the aforementioned Left 4 Dead series also being available. The game's co-operative modes support eight playable characters, four of which are new female characters. In August 2015, the main characters of both games in the Left 4 Dead series were also added exclusively to the PC version's playable character roster.[2] Gameplay Zombie Army Trilogy utilises similar mechanics to Sniper Elite V2 in that the player is encouraged to tackle enemies from afar with their sniper rifle as opposed to attacking them head-on, however this game adopts a more linear level design, with a reduced focus on stealth in favour of an action-oriented approach. The game is set in an alternate version of World War II, as such the player character utilizes appropriate weapons for that era. Again like V2, the player can utilise various types of explosives, including standard grenades, tripwire mines and dynamite. Another mechanic returning from V2 is that, when using the sniper rifle, certain elements such as wind direction and strength and bullet drop can affect the path of the bullet when it is fired. Bullets can ricochet off surfaces or targets and strike others. The player can also hold their breath to steady their shot and more precisely determine the direction their bullet will travel in. The "X-Ray Kill Cam" feature from V2 also makes a return, in which when a successful and skilled shot is made, the camera will track the bullet from the sniper rifle to the target in slow motion, and upon impact will show an anatomically correct x-ray style reveal of the body part being hit and the damage the bullet causes to the organs and bones. Some items can also trigger an explosion when shot, which can be used to the player's advantage against the hordes of zombies. The game will also measure notable shots by briefly displaying distance and other factors like whether it was a head shot or moving target.

Many will shoot back and while the game is forgiving with regards to the number of hits you can take, you aren't bulletproof. Sniper Fury Before each mission, you will receive a briefing covering the details and your targets. Some missions require long-range shots while others are more up close and personal. Some have singular targets while others have multiple targets to engage. You will also have weapons requirements for missions that call on you to upgrade your rifle. Upgrades will cost you a little cash and if you are running low, you can always pick up side missions to help give your account a little boost.Sniper Fury also features a PvP Multiplayer mode where you can steal resources and keep your loot safe from other players. But perhaps what really sets Sniper Fury apart from other mobile action shooters is its combination of the visual caliber of a console game and the accessibility of a casual mobile game. It boasts 3-D graphics with atmospheric effects that make for realistic renditions of various locations. What’s more, it employs special “Matrix”-inspired “bullet time” effects for sniper headshots, as shown in the game’s cinematic trailer:Sniper Fury MOD APK arrived but is it worth waiting for? we’ve reached an impasse and there’s basically nothing we can do we need our energy to regenerate far enough so that we can made a base get some gold and then spend it on matching components into our assault rifle its source of light waiting for an email from an incompetent colleague at 4:59 on a Friday afternoon you can almost taste the first weekend pint but yet so far away except of course the best hair is shooting people in the Hat not there was saying shooting people in the head is as good as a delicious right now sniper Fury actually pretty dull it is standard snipe against their you swipe around the screen to fight enemies slide a finger across the bar to look down your site and zoom in then tap a button to fire you’ve got problems as a splash of blood and Sand reasonably entertaining ragdoll flopping but the gore is kept to a minimum really the readout animations a nice idea gas but the action here just feels a little bit stilted sometimes you’re so close to the action that you kind of feel like it’d be easier to reach out and smack your assailant then peering down your site sandblasting their face off + the mechanics here are just a bit too simple example there’s no breath holding here which has kind of become a staple of good sniping game compare what you doing here with what you doin hitman sniper and sniper very kind of comes off as a pretty poor seconds there are no interesting tactical nuances like shooting fuse boxes or setting off car alarms instead there are some red barrels guess what happens when you shoot them otherwise he just zooming in popping off a shot and zooming out to cut your rifle there some assault sections that Cu wielding an assault rifle but they feel flimsy and kind of tank top just don’t feel any sort of connection to your weapons you upgrade them but it also feels a bit arbitrary write some cash at your peril and get more power when you need more power to play and the site gets increasingly steep off the first hour or so there’s a reasonably sharp asynchronous multiplayer mode. Sniper Fury MOD APK Unlimited Ammo and No Reload that’s easy invading other players basis but it costs energy a lot of energy I mean there’s nothing horribly broken here but there’s nothing that makes you want to reach into your digital wallet either buried just better sniper games out battle with interesting new ideas sniper fury just feels like it come out a couple of years to life it’s not an awful game but its a worth try.
