Shortly after the COVID-19 lockdown began, I found myself all alone in my Mumbai apartment. My roommates had all left, for some reason or the other, and it was just me. The first couple of weeks were easy, I was living my best life and channeling my inner Kevin McAllister with gleeful abandon, eating ice-cream in the middle of the day with not a care in the world. The next couple of weeks, however, were... difficult. There was a point at which my little 2BHK abode, which, on usual days, felt stifling and small, started to seem infinite. The walls began to loom over me, and the walk from the front door to my kitchen felt like a marathon.
I was slowly beginning to succumb to a strange brand of melancholy, the kind that only something like a global pandemic can bring about. In my desperation to exit this sinking quicksand feeling, I tried all sorts of distractions. I watched films that everyone had raved about, television shows that frequently featured on "Top 10 shows to watch if you're not an uncultured swine" lists, even going so far as to — and I shudder to say this out loud — listen to a podcast or two. None of that really worked, and my salvation would finally come whilst trawling through the bargain bin offers on the PlayStation store, in the shape of F1 2019.
Prior to this point, I'd never played an F1 game before, despite being an on-again, off-again fan of the actual sport. Also, my utter incompetence when it comes to racing games might have something to do with why I'd never dipped my toes into Codemasters' decades-long series. In fact, just minutes after booting up F1 2019, I was ready to quit. I was expecting a light, carefree racing experience, but instead, what I got was an ultra-serious, simulator-esque ordeal, with all manners of strange buttons and technical jargon being thrown my way. Despite this initial reluctance, I persevered, and over the next month or so, I obsessively played my way through pretty much everything the game had to offer, and in the process, somehow managed to stave off the lockdown blues (Just to make it clear, I'm not advocating for F1 2019 to replace any of the tools you would use to improve your mental health, please try therapy, it works wonders).
So of course, a year later, when the opportunity came to review the successor to the game that got me through the first few months of the pandemic, I lunged at it with both hands. After having played it for a week or so, I've come to the realisation that despite having sunk many, many hours of my life into this game, I have somehow not gotten any better. I might actually be worse at it than I was a year ago. The game, on the other hand, has improved significantly.
Gameplay and Graphics
While the gameplay of F1 2021 is not massively different from its predecessors, there are a few noteworthy additions that make it a more appealing and polished game than those that came before it. Chief among those is the addition of Braking Point, a "Drive to Survive"-inspired game mode that attempts to throw back the curtain and expose the seedy underbelly of a sport that features 20 millionaires driving around in circles really fast. We'll talk about Braking Point in detail a little later, but F1 2021 is not all about huge updates and big overhauls.
There have also been a number of smaller, more subtle improvements. For an inept hand like myself, the assists, in particular, were one improvement that stood out to me almost immediately. Having little green and red arrows to tell you when to brake and when to accelerate away is really useful, and while these features have been a part of the F1 series for a while now, you do have a slightly larger degree of control over them now.
The game also integrates the DualSense controller's ability to adjust the tension in the trigger buttons, but if you didn't know that before you started playing, you might not realise it at all. In fact, I only remembered that the game was supposed to use adaptive triggers when I was re-watching a teaser trailer that had come out in the build-up to the game's release. Turns out, there are different levels of sensitivity that you can apply to the triggers, and the effects of the default level are not very noticeable. Once I had amped it up a little, I really felt a lot of feedback from the controls, and it made racing a lot more enjoyable by adding a heightened level of tactile interaction.
When it comes to the graphics, there's been a marked improvement in quality, though I suspect that might have more to do with the capabilities of the PlayStation 5 than it has to do with the game itself. Opting to race in rainy conditions will dramatically transform the visuals, with the almost photorealistic soaked asphalt, crunchy gravel and overcast skies really adding to the immersive quality of the experience. In contrast, when racing on circuits like Bahrain, the swirling sand and bright, oppressive sunlight really replicate what it's like to be at that particular track, so much so that while playing the game, I was overcome with nostalgia, thinking back to when a 10-year-old me got a chance to watch the F1 at the Bahrain International Circuit.
Braking Point - The Star Attraction
In Braking Point, F1's new story-focused mode, you're given the opportunity to relive the experience of being a pimply lad in your 20s, trying to make it in a big bad world, through the lens of one Aiden Jackson. Jackson is a strong favourite to win the F2 title, and your first race as Aiden Jackson is the championship-winning season finale that propels you to a seat in Formula 1. Soon after, you're forced to come to grips with the fact that it's not all stars and sunshine in the big leagues, and that underneath the bells and whistles, there's a viciously competitive system that's out to get you.
Among the chief antagonists of this story are your vaguely older teammate Casper Akkerman (really, he could be either 28 or 50) who despises you for being a young hotshot talent, and a very charismatic rival Devon Butler, who just seems to appear out of thin air at the very worst moments possible to sow seeds of doubt in your mind.
Now, there's nothing particularly new or interesting about this storyline in and of itself. It does seem like a slightly plagiarised reincarnation of the Alex Hunter story from FIFA games of the past, even featuring almost identical motivations for the primary character and the antagonists. How it does improve on that, though, is in the execution.
Each character is fleshed out to just the right point, where we neither skim over their reasons for doing what they do, nor dive into their past in exhaustive detail. The interactions between characters, especially those told through the cutscenes, are all paced well, and at no point does the story feel like it's dragging. The only character whose backstory I wasn't fully satisfied with was Akkerman, whose past exploits on the circuit are mentioned only in passing, but it's not something that hampered my enjoyment of the story.
Speaking of Akkerman, another gameplay feature that I really enjoyed was that Braking Point allowed you to race as Akkerman in some races that had were more meaningful to his storyline than they perhaps were to the protagonist. This truly gives players an ability to walk a mile in someone else's shoes, and adds a further level of nuance to this story. It gives a sense of authenticity to the world that the game is trying to bring to your television screens.
This world is also expanded upon by little touches like the mails you get in your inbox, as well as a social media feed of sorts that you can view on your virtual phone. Some of these are quite intriguing, and often form little side stories of their own, over the course of several emails. A significant portion of the story is also told through the medium of telephones, with Aiden being constantly plagued by his mum and team liaison/mediator Brian Doyle.
I do have a couple of gripes about Braking Point. To begin with, since the cutscenes are so visually appealing and well-written, there are occasions outside the cutscenes in which the characters look a little like they've been possessed by a demon, with deadpan expressions and eyes that are cold and calculating. Now, if there's a murder mystery side plot in the pipeline, this is more than acceptable, but otherwise, it just takes away from the overall polish of the game. Secondly, Braking Point is short, even for a novice like me who needs four or five attempts to complete every race.
Career
The career mode allows you to play either as a racer (Driver mode), or as a racer/owner/manager (My Team mode) who juggles the responsibilities of being the man in charge in addition to having to race every weekend. You can play the career mode all by yourself, or, if you have a very, very patient friend, which I do not, you can play it in CO-OP mode, which allows you and your friend to play as teammates or rivals.
When you play the "My Team" version of career mode, you're given a much larger degree of control over the team, and you can dictate proceedings according to your wishes. I found it quite entertaining, both in terms of story and gameplay, and I got a real kick out of acting like the big boss man. It was a little daunting, however, and required a fair bit of googling on my part to understand the progression systems involved in levelling up your engines and gearboxes. Of course, I admittedly have a very superficial knowledge of such things, and someone who is more aware of the inner workings of the sport will likely love the technical side of it.
That's not me though. I'm no geek. I'm fast, I'm furious, and I live to race baby. Hmm, I feel like the 'baby' was a bit too much, but my point stands. I wasn't interested in the makeup of the car or in having to decide what gearbox I was going to use, I just want to smoke fools on the track, and playing the "Driver" mode is perfect for that. You can pick from any team on the F1 and F2 grids, and then compete over the course of a season, or even half a season, if you want. I started out with an F2 side, and found that the journey towards qualifying for the Formula 1 was pretty engaging.
Multiplayer
There are a number of ways in which you can experience the joy of multiplayer racing, from online sessions to local split-screen races. The online races work well enough, but it took me very long to find players to race against, with wait times of over five minutes on some occasions. Perhaps some of that can be attributed to this still being a very new game, and it will likely improve in due time. I also prefer racing with collisions turned off so that other racers are not tangible entities that can make physical contact with me. I personally feel like it's much less chaotic, and ensures you don't fly off the tracks/have your front wing fall off every time you hit someone, but it does also make the race a teeny tiny bit less entertaining.
The multiplayer mode in which I had the most fun, however, was the local split-screen multiplayer, in which you can face off against someone sitting right next to you. Over the course of the past week, my brother and I have waged war on several occasions, and I have emerged victorious on almost every occasion (I let him win one time out of the goodness of my heart).
Grand Prix/Time Trial
These two modes are essentially the most barebones modes available, and they allow players to quickly jump into action whenever they so desire, cutting out any and all semblance of story or plot. They're great for learning how the game works, and challenging yourself to better your previous performances time and time again, should you be so inclined. With the time trial mode, you can also experience every track that the game has to offer without having to complete all of them first.
TL;DR: F1 2021 is a must-have for fans of the genre, as it builds upon an already robust series with numerous upgrades. If you're looking for a more fun, light-hearted racing experience, however, this is probably not for you.

Pro Cycling Manager 2020 – The Waiting Game
June 4, 2020 11:00 AM EST
How far will one man go to manage the male, digital version of his wife to Tour de France glory in Pro Cycling Manager 2020?
Before we begin, it’s important to make clear that I do not care about nor understand professional cycling. I have, quite literally, never watched a race in my life and am the last person you should be coming to if you’re looking for a review for Pro Cycling Manager 2020. Or any cycling game, for that matter.
However, my wife watches the Tour de France every year with her dad and they take part in local races relatively often. She’s also bad-to-mediocre at video games. She’ll dispute that, but it’s a fact. And so, I decided to put our two brains together and see if we could somehow win the virtual Tour de France. Going in, I felt I had some idea of what was going to happen. I’ve played quite a bit of games like Football Manager and Total Extreme Wrestling. My management experience mixed with my wife’s knowledge was sure to be a winning combo.
At least, that’s what I hoped.
So, this isn’t a review of Pro Cycling Manager 2020. This is one man’s journey to create the male version of his wife and lead her to virtual glory in the greatest cycling race known to man.
Tumblr media
Season 1 – What Have I Gotten Myself Into
The first thing I’m greeted with is choosing what type of racer we’ll be building. Honestly, I was hoping for something a little more granular. We were totally planning to go out to the local park and time her cycling to give our racer the most accurate starting stats possible. Heck, my wife even did something she calls “math” to figure out how tall the racer should be in comparison to her. It looked like wizardry to me, but she’s a computer engineer, so I assume she knows what she’s doing.
Anyway, Amos Frech was quickly created as the world’s next great “Stage Racer.” I don’t know what that means, but it sounded better than “Northern Classic” or whatever “Baroudeur” is. Frankly, it seemed like it would only be a matter of time before we could join my wife’s favorite team, Team INEOS. I’m told that’s “where the good ones are from.”
In our first few races, I immediately started to realize I might’ve bitten off more than I can chew. In games like Football Manager, you don’t directly control the on-field action. Instead, you’re setting up tactics and choosing the players to execute on your plans. Maybe the team mode on Pro Cycling Manager is more like this, but in the Pro Cyclist mode, you’re in complete control.
With zero understanding of how the sport works or what any of the terms mean, this feels like one of those nightmares where you wake up in your old high school and are about to have a test that you didn’t study for. And, for some reason, you’re naked.
In our first race, I see an option for something called infinite relay. As far as I know, this could mean your racer hops off the bike to have a cup of tea or he instantly wins the race. It could mean anything and I would believe you. That said, it is, by far, the coolest-sounding option, so, being an idiot who loves action, this becomes my go-to maneuver.
It seems to work decently well. I mean, we’re not winning any races, but we aren’t in last either. Slowly, I start to get objectives in races. Most of these tell me to “get in a breakaway for 100 km.” I read this as “be in first place for two-thirds of the race.” At our current skill level, that’s impossible, so I just ignore them.
By some miracle, I’m able to win a few races during the season. But the most notable thing to happen is seeing a cyclist get ran over by a pacer car. Most of the time you just phase through them and all the other cyclists. However, in one race, he just blows right through him and I get a notification that the racer has “withdrawn.” But we all know they left out “from this mortal coil” at the end of that notification.
We end the first season in one of, what I assume is, the bigger races in our division. I assume this because members of Team INEOS are here. My wife’s favorite dude Chris Froome is, unsurprisingly, not one of them. However, I go for a good showing in the hopes that these men will tell their senpai tales of Amos Frech’s dominance and get us a spot on the team.
Amos gets 31st and we’re on to season two.
Tumblr media
Season 2 – Lesson From The Past
Heading into season two, I start to think about how my dad must have felt when he realized he had a soccer-playing child. My old man had probably never even seen a soccer ball before randomly signing me up for the U4 league. However, he quickly realized that his abnormally tall three-year-old was going to be half-decent at this weird British sport.
Much like three-year-old me, Amos is unquestionably skilled. He is one of the best in the world already at climbing mountains and whatever “prologue” is. However, I don’t understand the strategy of the game and cannot consistently guide him to victory.
Well, just like my dad once picked up a book on how to play soccer, I too will pursue knowledge. And so, I do the modern-day equivalent of reading and watch some YouTube tutorials. I know now what a breakaway is and somewhat understand how to correctly set myself up for success in races. It’s time to finally turn that corner and become the racer we’re meant to be.
However, there’s a problem. See, as I mentioned above, Pro Cycling Manager isn’t a “set it and forget it” kind of game. If Football Manager is the Easy-Bake Oven style of management sims, Pro Cycling Manager is more like working in a high-class restaurant that requires everything to be perfect.
Except, in this analogy, nobody comes to your restaurant. So, on your eight-hour shift, you’re maybe doing ten minutes of actual work. The rest of the time you’re just fiddling with your cell phone, watching the world burn on Twitter. While that ten minutes of actual cooking is pure bliss, the rest of the time is something between boring and distressing because you’re realizing you could be doing something much better with your time.
Pro Cycling Manager requires you to watch entire races where you don’t really have to do anything until the last 20 kilometers of a race. Sure, you can speed it up, but it’s still mostly boring. And even when you’re outside of the races, you’re just staring at the screen watching all the other races sim.
Honestly, Steam says I’ve played Pro Cycling Manager for roughly 40 hours now, but realistically, I’ve probably only “played” the game for four or five of those hours. For the most part, I’m just sitting around waiting to do something.
At this point, it’s not a question of “can Amos win the Tour de France?” It’s a question of “can I mentally stay engaged long enough?” Amos’ body is willing, but my brain? Not so much.
So, sure, Amos pulls out all the stops and wins three smaller tours in his second season. He even moves up into the next division and joins a more prestigious team. I just don’t know if I’ll be able to see out the final victory.
Tumblr media
Season 3 – The One That Breaks Me
I tried everybody. I really did. There’s just only so much sitting and staring at men riding bicycles at hyper-speed that one man can take. Sure, Amos is quickly moving toward a spot in the Tour de France, but this third season has broken down my will to continue. What started as a fun lark has become borderline soul-crushing. It’s just so much waiting.
To be clear, I’m not saying Pro Cycling Manager 2020 is bad. If you like cycling and want to play a management sim, this is probably the best way to do that. Granted, I’m far from an expert, so what do I know?
It’s also worth noting again that I only played the Pro Cyclist mode. In that mode, you don’t have complete control of your team. Meaning it was very difficult to set up sprint trains (see, I learned something!) at the end of races. It also meant that there was no way for me to use my other cyclists to pick up points in other ways besides winning races. So, playing in that mode could easily mitigate my boredom. I’ll just never know if that’s the case.
So, no, Amos Frech will never become the best cyclist in the world. And yes, I can’t remember playing a more consistently boring game than Pro Cycling Manager 2020. However, until it just got to be too much, I’ve never had so much fun playing something so tedious. If that’s not a ringing endorsement from someone who literally couldn’t care less about cycling, then I don’t know what is.

MLB’s Astros punishment was extraordinary, and still not harsh enough
Tumblr media
Let’s make sense of the fallout from the Astros cheating scandal.
Major League Baseball levied one of the most significant punishments in the history of the sport on the Houston Astros for cheating during their championship season in 2017. Executive Jeff Luhnow and manager A.J. Hinch were suspended for the 2020 season, while the team was stripped of four draft picks and fined $5 million.
This Astros discipline somehow achieved the opposing feats of being unprecedented in scope yet also not punitive enough.
What hurts
The loss of draft picks is huge, and will probably do the most long-term damage of any of the penalties laid out by Major League Baseball. Given where the Astros will likely pick in the 2020 and 2021 drafts (late in the first round; this is still a very talented team coming off three consecutive 100-win years), using FanGraphs’ valuation tool has those picks — first- and second-rounders in the next two drafts — worth roughly $25-30 million in net present value.
Houston’s roster is filled with homegrown talent, including Alex Bregman, Carlos Correa, and George Springer, who were drafted very early in the first round back when the Astros were tanking on purpose. But later first-round picks, closer to where the Astros will probably pick in the next two drafts, were used to get Justin Verlander (Daz Cameron) and Zack Greinke (J.B. Bukauskas, Seth Beer) in trades. Losing those four picks not only removes four potential prospects, but also limits the total pool of bonus money the team is allowed to spend. This is a significant developmental loss.
Managers and general managers don’t grow on trees
Luhnow and Hinch took the biggest hits, as they were not only suspended without pay for a season by MLB on Monday but subsequently fired by Astros owner Jim Crane as well. Both signed contract extensions during the 2018 season, a year after the team won the World Series in seven games. Luhnow was signed through 2023, and Hinch through 2022. Now, they need to be replaced, after every other team has filled its vacancies in those two spots this offseason.
Hinch is only the third manager in the last 100 years to be suspended for at least one season, joining Leo Durocher (1947) and Pete Rose (1989), per Jayson Stark.
For the Braves’ international and amateur scouting transgressions in 2017, general manager John Coppolella was banned for life and the team lost one first-round draft pick and saw their spending limited in two international signing periods. The combination and volume of draft pick loss plus the suspension of not only the Astros GM and manager make Houston’s punishment the most severe in baseball since the Black Sox scandal in 1919.
Hinch was found by MLB to not have participated in the trash-can-banging scheme in 2017 nor the Astros’ usage of the video replay room to relay signals to the dugout in 2018. Hinch, per MLB, even went so far as to “signal his disapproval of the scheme by physically damaging the monitor on two occasions, necessitating its replacement.” But his culpability came in knowing about both plans and doing nothing to stop it.
In addition to the integrity-damaging proof through this investigation that the Astros cheated during the postseason that ended with their championship, the timing of this is key. During the 2017 season, the Yankees complained to the commissioner’s office that the Red Sox were illegally using electronic equipment to relay signs from their video replay room to the dugout. The league released a memo on Sept. 15 that year confirming the Red Sox violation, which came with an undisclosed fine, and the warning that “all 30 Clubs have been notified that future violations of this type will be subject to more serious sanctions, including the possible loss of draft picks.”
The Astros, who by this point already implemented their own sign-stealing scheme against baseball’s rules, continued to use the system in the playoffs. It was a direct violation after MLB already warned that they would turn this car around right now if any of you kids keep this up.
Luhnow was not implicated in the sign-stealing scheme, but was found through MLB’s investigation to have knowledge of it, and his failure to try to stop it was his undoing. Commissioner Rob Manfred also made note of Luhnow’s “problematic” baseball operations department:
But while no one can dispute that Luhnow’s baseball operations department is an industry leader in its analytics, it is very clear to me that the culture of the baseball operations department, manifesting itself in the way its employees are treated, its relations with other Clubs, and its relations with the media and external stakeholders, has been very problematic. At least in my view, the baseball operations department’s insular culture – one that valued and rewarded results over other considerations, combined with a staff of individuals who often lacked direction or sufficient oversight, led, at least in part, to the Brandon Taubman incident, the Club’s admittedly inappropriate and inaccurate response to that incident, and finally, to an environment that allowed the conduct described in this report to have occurred.
Taubman, an assistant general manager under Luhnow, aggressively taunted a group of female reporters in the Astros clubhouse regarding closer Roberto Osuna — who was acquired as a distressed asset by Houston in 2018 while he served a 75-game suspension for violating the league’s domestic violence policy — all while celebrating the club’s ALCS win over the Yankees in October 2019.
The Astros bungled the response to the incident, including accusing Sports Illustrated reporter Stephanie Apstein of fabricating the story. An apology from Luhnow didn’t come until five days later, and on Monday he continued that trend with a statement bereft of remorse.
Here is Jeff Luhnow's full statement, his first response to today's news. pic.twitter.com/9AbDFEtkbP
— Jared Diamond (@jareddiamond) January 13, 2020
Luhnow’s statement began with “I accept responsibility,” then proceeded to list the ways in which he was not responsible. He was sure to note the video decoding of signs “was executed by lower-level employees working with the bench coach,” which brings us to who could perhaps face the biggest penalty of all.
Alex Cora was the bench coach for the Astros in 2017, and was found through MLB’s investigation to have arranged a video monitor just outside the Astros dugout, showing the center field camera feed. The explanation further notes the Astros’ sign-stealing scheme was player-driven, with Cora the only member of the coaching staff involved in the plan (along with some team employees in the video room).
“Cora participated in both schemes, and through his active participation, implicitly condoned the players’ conduct,” Manfred wrote.
As if the direct culpability in the Astros’ schemes weren’t enough, Cora is also the subject of MLB’s current investigation into whether the 2018 Red Sox engaged in impermissible electronic sign stealing. Cora won the World Series as Boston’s manager that year.
MLB hasn’t yet determined Cora’s penalty, with an investigation ongoing, but he figures to get punished at least as much as Hinch and Luhnow just for his Astros’ involvement alone. Cora is signed with the Red Sox through 2021, with a club option for 2022.
What about the players?
You might be wondering if what the Astros did was against baseball rules, and if their sign-stealing scheme was player driven, why weren’t any players suspended or even fined for their transgressions?
Manfred for one correctly noted that it’s the responsibility of the general manager and field manager to make sure players know and follow the rules, and that’s why Luhnow and Hinch took the fall. Also, though unsaid, suspending players would be met with pushback from the players union, and with a looming labor battle and a collective bargaining agreement that expires after the 2021 season that’s probably an extra fight MLB wants little part of.
It’s also a logistical nightmare.
“It is difficult because virtually all of the Astros’ players had some involvement or knowledge of the scheme, and I am not in a position based on the investigative record to determine with any degree of certainty every player who should be held accountable, or their relative degree of culpability,” Manfred wrote. “It is impractical given the large number of players involved, and the fact that many of those players now play for other Clubs.”
Keep in mind that this was a thorough investigation, in which 68 people were interviewed and “tens of thousands of emails, Slack communications, text messages, video clips, and photographs” were reviewed. 23 of those interviewed were current or former Astros players. It’s unclear if any sort of immunity was promised by MLB to get these players to talk, but that so many cooperated certainly helped the investigation.
Everything is fine
The final Astros punishment was a fine of $5 million, which is the largest allowed by the Major League constitution. It’s also a drop in the bucket for a franchise valued (by Forbes) at $1.775 billion in 2019, a 161-percent increase from Crane’s $680 million purchase price in 2011.
Even if the fine was $50 million, the Astros made much more than that by virtue of their three extended postseason runs the last three years (they also made the World Series in 2019, but won none of their four home games).
There is no going back in time and stripping the Astros of their World Series title. The games happened, the memories exist, and changing the past doesn’t really do anything. The best MLB can hope for is to prevent this type of scandal from happening again, and the way to do that is to make an owner piss their pants when they see a cost that is actually prohibitive.
Because if the cost for electronically stealing signs is $5 million, four draft picks, and one-year suspensions of the manager and general manager, I’m not sure that’s steep enough to outweigh all the benefits that come with winning a World Series.

The future of artificial intelligence: two experts disagree
by Peter Stratton and Michael Milford
Tumblr media
Artificial intelligence (AI) promises to revolutionise our lives, drive our cars, diagnose our health problems, and lead us into a new future where thinking machines do things that we’re yet to imagine.
Or does it? Not everyone agrees.
Even billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, who admits he has access to some of the most cutting-edge AI, said recently that without some regulation “AI is a fundamental risk to the existence of human civilization”.
So what is the future of AI? Michael Milford and Peter Stratton are both heavily involved in AI research and they have different views on how it will impact on our lives in the future.
How widespread is artificial intelligence today?
Michael:
Answering this question depends on what you consider to be “artificial intelligence”.
Basic machine learning algorithms underpin many technologies that we interact with in our everyday lives - voice recognition, face recognition - but are application-specific and can only do one very specifically defined task (and not always well).
More capable AI - what we might consider as being somewhat smart - is only now becoming widespread in areas such as online retail and marketing, smartphones, assistive car systems and service robots such as robotic vacuum cleaners.
Peter:
The most obvious and useful examples of current AI are the speech recognition on your phone, and search engines such as Google. There is also IBM’s Watson, which in 2011 beat human champion players at the US TV game show Jeopardy, and is now being trialed in business and healthcare.
Most recently, Google’s DeepMind AI called AlphaGo beat the world champion Go player, surprising a lot of people – especially since Go is an extremely complex game, way surpassing chess.
What major advances in AI will we see over the next 10 years?
Peter:
Many auto manufacturers and research institutions are competing to create practical driverless cars for general road use. While currently these cars can drive themselves for much of the time, many challenges remain in dealing with bad weather (heavy rain, fog and snow) and random real-world events such as roadworks, accidents and other blockages.
These incidents often require some degree of human judgement, common sense and even calculated risk to successfully navigate through. We are still a long way from fully autonomous vehicles that don’t need a licensed driver ready to take control in an instant.
The same can be said for all the AI that we will see over the coming 10-20 years, such as online virtual personal assistants, accountants, legal and financial advisers, doctors and even physical shop-bots, museum guides, cleaners and security guards.
They will be advanced tools that are very useful in specific situations, but they will never fully replace people because they will have little common sense (probably none, in fact).
Michael:
We will definitely see a range of steady, incremental improvements in everyday AI. Online product recommendations will get better, your phone or car will understand your voice increasingly well and your vacuum cleaner robot won’t get stuck as often.
It’s likely that we’ll see some major advances beyond today’s technology in some but not all of the following areas: self-driving cars, healthcare, utilities (electricity, water, and so on) management, legal, and service areas such as cleaning robots.
I disagree on self-driving cars - there’s no real reason why there won’t be fully autonomous controlled ride-sharing fleets in the affluent centres of cities, and this is indeed the strategy of companies such as NuTonomy, working in Singapore and Boston.
What approaches will lead to the biggest improvements in AI?
Michael:
Major advances will come from two sources.
First, there is a long runway of steady incremental improvements left in many areas of conventional AI - large, complex neural networks and algorithms. These systems will continue to improve steadily as more training data becomes available and as scientists perfect them.
The second area will likely be biological inspiration. Scientists are only just starting to tap into the knowledge about how brain networks work, and it’s likely they will copy or adapt what we know about animal and human brains to make current deep learning networks far more capable.
Peter:
Old-fashioned AI, which was based on pure logic and computer programs that tried to get machines to behave intelligently, basically failed to do anything that humans are good at and computers are not (speech and image recognition, playing complex strategic games, for example).
What’s quite clear now is that our best-performing AI is based on how we think the brain works.
But our current brain-based AI (called Deep Artificial Neural Networks) is still light years away from emulating an actual brain. Enhanced AI capabilities in the future will come from developing better theories of how the brain works.
The fundamental science needed to cultivate these theories will probably come from publicly funded research institutions, which will then be spun off into commercial start-up companies, and then quickly acquired by interested large corporations if they look like they might be successful.
How will artificial intelligence affect society and jobs?
Peter:
Most jobs won’t be under threat for a long time, probably several generations. Real people are needed to actually make any significant decisions because AI currently has no common sense.
Instead of replacing jobs, our overall quality of life will go up. For example, right now few people can afford a personal assistant, or a full-time life coach. In the near future, we’ll all have (a virtual) one!
Our virtual doctor will be working for us daily, monitoring our health and making exercise and lifestyle suggestions.
Our houses and workplaces might be cleaner, but we will still need people to clean the spots the robots miss. We’ll also need people to deploy, retrieve and maintain all the robots.
youtube
Do we still need a human in control of the vacuum cleaner?
Our goods will be cheaper due to reduced transport costs, but we’ll still need human drivers to cover all the situations the self-drivers can’t.
All this doesn’t even mention the whole new entertainment technologies and industries that will spring up to capture our increased disposable income and to cash-in on our improved quality of life.
So yes, jobs will change, but there will still be plenty of them.
Michael:
It’s likely that a significant fraction of jobs will be under threat over the coming decade. It’s important to note that this won’t necessarily be divided by blue-collar versus white-collar, but rather by which occupations are easily automatable.
It’s unlikely that an effective plumber robot will be built in the near future, but aspects of the so far undisrupted construction industry may change radically.
Some people say machines will never have the emotional capabilities of humans. Whether that is true or not, many jobs will be under threat with even the most rudimentary levels of emotional understanding and interaction.
Don’t think about the complex, nuanced interaction you had with your psychologist; instead think about the one with that disinterested, uncaring part-time hospitality worker. The bar for disruption is not as high as many think.
youtube
The robot bartender.
That leaves the question of what happens then. There are two scenarios - the first being that, like in the past, new types of jobs are generated by the technological revolution.
The other is that humanity gradually transitions into a Utopian society where scientific, artistic and sporting pursuits are pursued at leisure. The short to medium-term reality is probably somewhere in between.
Will Skynet/the machines take over and enslave humanity?
Michael:
It’s unlikely in the near future but possible. The real danger is the unpredictability. Skynet-like killer cyborgs as featured in the Terminator film series are unlikely because that development cycle takes a while, and we have multiple opportunities to stop development.
youtube
He could be back!
But AI could destroy or damage humanity in other unpredictable ways. For example, when big companies like Google Deepmind start entering into healthcare, it’s likely that they will improve patient outcomes through a combination of big data and intelligent systems.
One of the temptations or pressures will be to deploy these extremely complex systems before we completely understand every possible ramification. Imagine the pressure if there is good evidence it will save thousands of lives per year.
As we well know, we have a long history of negative unintended consequences with new technology that we didn’t fully understand.
In a far-fetched but not impossible healthcare scenario, deploying AI may lead to catastrophic outcomes - a world-wide AI network deciding in ways invisible to us human observers to kill us all off to optimise some misguided performance goal.
The challenge is that with newly developing technologies, there is an illusion of 100% control, which doesn’t really exist.
Peter:
All our current AI, and any that we can possibly create in the foreseeable future, are just tools – developed for specific jobs and totally useless outside of the exact duties they were designed for. They don’t have thoughts or feelings. These AIs are just as likely to try to take over the world as your Xbox or your toaster.
One day, I believe, we will build machines that rival us in intelligence, and these machines will have their own thoughts and possibly learn in an unconstrained way. This sounds scary. But humans are dangerous for exactly the reasons that the machines won’t be.
Humans evolved in a constant struggle for life and death, which made us innately competitive and potentially treacherous. When we build the machines, we can instead build them with any underlying motivation that we would like.
For example, we could build an intelligent machine whose only desire is to dismantle itself. Or, we could build in a hidden remote-controlled off switch that is completely separate from any of the machine’s own circuits, and an auto-shutdown reflex if the machine somehow ever notices it.
All these safeguards will be trivial to implement. So there is simply no way that we could accidentally build a machine that then tries to wipe out the human race.
Of course, because humans themselves are dangerous, someone could build a machine that doesn’t have these safeguards and use it for nefarious purposes. But we have that same problem now with nuclear weapons.
Tumblr media
In the future, just as now, we have to hope that we are simply smart enough to use our technology wisely.

GENERAL ASSESSMENT
Most Yoga Burn Reviews mentions how Zoe Bray-Cotton's Yoga Burn System has recently help lots and lots of women to gain a lean and healthy weight and mind through a specifically designed various yoga techniques and then in this Yoga Burn Review you certainly will learn the secret of that success. She's a large transformation specialist and a yoga instructor. In case you are interested in quite a few more tips about the author, you could always visit Her Yoga Secrets, the official website. The Yoga Burn Program can possibly be followed up by anyone as it is dependent on an incremental methodology, so it starts off with yoga positions for beginners after which it gradually increases intensity and complexity, this feature makes this yoga exercises different to any other and provides permanent benefits to its users. You could possibly follow the whole program due to the attend from the comfort of your office or home, and that's just priceless. Because I said before, Zoe mentions and warns you no longer than three common mistakes we make when trying to discover yoga. Mistake 1 is generic yoga classes.
How many times perhaps you've tried these kind of classes exactly where the instructor barely knows you? Just how many times did you try these type of classes in which you don't have any idea when you are progressing? These tend to be basic yoga lessons which get good virtually for nobody therefore if you really want to get real results, avoiding crowded and generic yoga classes is a must. Mistake 2 is getting yoga with no consideration. It's a powerful relaxation tool, but relaxation isn't necessarily possible caused by a various factors that may alter the whole yoga essence. The amount of time regarding a day, seeking a comfortable sport, the man or woman at the side of you, the lights, noises beginning with the outside, getting to class by the due date, to name a few. These little annoying thing are not always perceived, but they are a sufficient amount to produce cortisol, making you feel uneasy and stress, and the moment that we are stress, our body start storing fat. Accordingly should you desire a fit body plus a healthy mind, the classes needs to be relaxing, otherwise you won't see benefits. The past mistake is directly connected with the two previous ones and it is a shortage of progression. This is common sense. In case you don't see progress, it is important for you to change the method. When the instructor gets too basic, should you find factors impeding you to benefit from the class you'll need a change. Stop doing always exactly the same expecting different results because that is actually never definitely going to happen. If something is not just working, leave. I feel the fact that Yoga Burn Review makes that clear, changing is useful, trying different approaches is healthier. I personally conclude that there is nothing better that getting fit from the it couldn't be any more convenient following an expert instructor as Zoe, the creator of Yoga Burn. Keep reading this review to find out more about research!

How Eight Online Personal Trainers Earn Six-Figure Salaries
Personal training is not a get-rich-quick business. But with the right moves and a little luck, training clients online can be a rewarding and lucrative career.
According to our salary survey of more than 1,000 personal trainers, one in five trainers earn $75,000 or more per year. One out of every 10 trainers earn six figures or above. Those odds are slightly better than you’ll find in other careers. But there’s a lot you can do to improve your position.
For one thing, top-tier trainers were more likely than modest earners to train clients online in some form or another. Some trained clients online exclusively, while others did online training in combination with in-person training.
We wanted to see what the most successful ones had in common. So we asked eight online trainers, all of whom earn six or seven figures, about the attitudes, behaviors, and strategies behind their success.
They all work hard, as you’d expect. But the key to their success, as you’ll see, is working hard at the right things.

1. Work on your communication skills
Jordan Lark wasn’t trying to reach six figures when he left his secure management-level job to become a full-time trainer. His focus was on his clients’ success. That’s especially important in the early days, because growth relies on word-of-mouth referrals.
“I have clients in 60 countries now,” says Lark, “and I could, like a family tree, plot them all back to the first 10.”
The key to good results: establishing clear, continuous communication between you and your clients.
That’s vital not only for convincing clients to trust your methods, but also for building a relationship in which they feel comfortable sharing pain points.
Try the girlfriend test: Pick a close relative or friend who represents your client—for Lark, whose clients are mostly women in their 30s, that’s his girlfriend—and whenever you contact clients, ask yourself how that person would respond to the message. Adjust the phrasing until you’re sure it will be well received.
And put a moratorium on emojis. You’ll be forced to make sure your words convey the right intention, thus honing your communication skills, Lark says.
The Wealthy Fit Pro’s Guide to Online Training retails for $19.99, but we bought it for you. We just ask that you pay shipping & handling. Claim your copy at go.theptdc.com.
2. Get organized from day one
You can’t build a house without a solid foundation. (Not one you’d want to live in, anyway.) The foundation of your business includes administrative details like your business license, tax forms, and insurance policies. Get those out of the way immediately, says trainer Roxie Beckles, owner of RoxStar Fitness.
Next come your basic business systems and practices. Write everything down, says Mike Doehla, founder of Stronger U, the nutrition-coaching juggernaut. Keep spreadsheets of your personal training clients, noting when you last touched base with them and when you’ll follow up.
Once all that is in place, you can scale up without short-changing your current clients.
But don’t try to systemize everything, cautions Lark. You need systems for repeatable processes like referrals and lead generation, but actual coaching demands a custom response.

3. Practice progressive overload
It takes time and patience to build a business. That slow progress can be frustrating on any given day, but the gains add up over time. And when an online personal training business finally clicks, there’s no limit to how fast it can grow.
“Think about it this way,” says Jason Helmes, owner of Anyman Fitness. “If you had a ‘normal’ job, a 10 percent raise would be phenomenal, practically unheard of. But 20 percent [annual] profit growth in this business is extremely achievable if you focus on the right things.”
Helmes speaks from experience. He made $2,500 his first year, training his initial clients for free and surviving month to month with little to no income from coaching. (He was also teaching middle school at the time and picking up extra jobs to get by.) Two years later, he hit six figures, and revenue has been climbing ever since.
Once you hit six figures, you still have to put in the work. Running a fitness business includes sometimes tedious, repetitive tasks like responding to emails and reaching out to prospective clients. Helmes likes to think of these tasks as “reps.” Get in your reps, and your business will grow.
Be patient. Those six-figure trainers from our salary survey? Eighty percent have been at it at least five years.

4. Pursue knowledge
Hang with highly successful trainers long enough, and you can’t help but notice their unabashed love of learning. For some, that means seeking higher education. (Trainer Sohee Lee, who’s pursuing a PhD in sports science, saw her business triple the same month she earned her master’s.)
Not all successful trainers hold advanced degrees—or any degree at all. In fact, education as a stand-alone variable didn’t correlate with income in our survey. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t relentlessly curious and inquisitive.
“I’m always learning,” says Michael Beiter, owner of Pillar Coaching Services, who has taken college-level courses in exercise science but never actually earned a degree. He reads and writes for two hours every morning, and credits that habit for his business success as well as his personal growth.

5. Treat social media like your virtual gym floor
When you run a business online, you must work that much harder to connect with people.
“Consider how long it takes to build a face-to-face relationship, and multiply that by a hundred,” says online trainer and nutrition coach Arpita Boyd, who posts three times on social every day. (To pull it off, she schedules all posts in advance for the coming week.)
To Lark, producing content is as close as an online trainer gets to walking the gym floor and chatting up potential clients. “You want to create content that makes you approachable,” he says. That way, when you put out a call to action, people already trust you and perceive you as someone who can help.
For content ideas, seek inspiration outside the fitness industry, he adds. Look to pop culture, psychology, comedy—whatever you like. Expanding your consumption helps you find fresh ideas.
And don’t overthink it. Lark spends about 15 minutes on each post, keeping them short (10 lines max), easy to digest, and representative of who he is and what he offers.

6. Talk to actual people too
Strong people skills are essential for attracting clients, engaging with them, and knowing how to motivate them, Doehla says. “You have to know how people think, what they want, and how they feel.”
In addition to connecting with clients on social media and coaching calls, Doehla makes a habit of getting out and talking with real-live humans in their natural habitat. Whenever Doehla is out in public, he’ll start a conversation—not to make a sale, but to build his emotional intelligence and try to understand people a little better.
“A lot of people in the industry don’t want to do that,” he says. “Those are the ones who are struggling.”
It’s easy to become dependent on electronic communications. But what seems efficient can also be impersonal, and ultimately limit your growth. The game-changing moment for Ashley Crooks, an online trainer and business coach, was when he stopped trying to sell online and started talking to people on the phone instead.

7. Make friends with other trainers
While you’re working on those people skills, try using them with other online trainers. They’re not competition. They’re teammates. “Other coaches are an amazing resource,” says Lark. “Most love to help. Plenty are happy to refer. And they’re often huge supporters of your success.”
Befriending other trainers is also a great way to find a mentor, a valuable asset in any career. “If you’re going to ask someone to mentor you, they should be someone you know,” Beckles adds. The best guidance will come from someone who has seen your potential and trusts you to put their advice to good use.
Start by joining Facebook groups for trainers, Lark advises. We recommend our own Online Trainers Unite. Find trainers who resonate with you, and ask questions about what they do and why they do it. “The worst case is they don’t have time to respond.” In that case, you’re no worse off than if you hadn’t asked.
Just be sure to reciprocate, he adds. “Don’t just be a taker. Give at every opportunity.”
8. Invest in yourself
Not every continuing-education investment is a good one, as pharmacist and gym owner TJ Allan notes in this article. If you’re operating on slim margins, it makes little sense to add thousands of dollars to your credit card balance by attending pricey conferences and seminars.
But there are lots of ways to invest in yourself while staying within a budget. A perfect example: In his early days, Alwyn Cosgrove would use the fees from one training session a week for personal development.
If you’re an online trainer who charges $200 a month, you could designate one client’s payment to your education fund. That’s $2,400 a year, which goes a long way when you invest in these categories:
Professional education
Gaining advanced and specialized personal training certifications is one way to learn, and in our survey, it was correlated with income. Trainers who make $100,000-plus hold an average of seven certifications, vs. five for all respondents.
Business and marketing resources
The best business books for personal trainers are worth many times their cover price. Beckles says these books helped her make the mental switch from “independent contractor” to “entrepreneur”:
The E-Myth by Michael E. Gerber
The Conversion Code by Chris Smith
Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
Coaches
Still not sure what you’re doing, or how to get from where you are to where you want to be? Do what your clients do and hire someone to help. Helmes says the best thing he ever did was hire a business coach to help him with Facebook ads and marketing strategy.

9. Make your own rules
Google “daily routines of the super-successful,” and you might think the only way to get ahead is through highly structured days. Beckles calls BS on that idea.
Each of her days is different. She might start working first thing. Or she might go to the gym, spend time online, meditate, or just chill out for a while. “The way we’re taught is very masculine-energy-driven,” she says. “‘Go go go! Never sleep!’ That’s good for people who like that energy. But I like balance. And I run my company with balance in mind.”
Doehla can relate. He prefers less structure so he’s always available to staff and clients, and has more flexibility to react. “A lot of young trainers see this stuff and think ‘Oh, I need to do that,’” he says. “There are no rules to this. Do what you want, and see what works.”
10. Don’t limit your options
Seen the ads for Equinox Hotels? Beckles has. “All the comments are ‘Oh my god! I can’t wait to go there!’” she says. “No one is saying ‘But you’re a gym. Why are you a hotel now?’”
Her point: Trainers need to think outside narrow definitions of what a fitness business can offer. “Bring your uniqueness to the game,” she says. Just because no one else has done it doesn’t mean it can’t be done. For Beckles, that word doesn’t exist. “Unless you physically can’t do something, you’re only limited by what you think.”
Optimistic? Maybe. But it’s a sentiment shared by many of the successful online trainers we spoke to. You can’t win big unless you dream big.

How to strengthen your brand with local marketing
As the number of online shoppers and purchase holidays, like Cyber Monday, grow, it may surprise you to learn that the majority of people still prefer to shop at local businesses. While more people enjoy the convenience of buying online—43 percent say that’s the reason they click to buy—there’s still a certain comfort in seeing an item in person before making a purchase commitment.
And while this buy-more-local strategy is still in vogue, it doesn’t mean shoppers have put down their mobile device, even when they plan to buy at a brick-and-mortar location. According to Google®, almost one-third of all mobile searches are related to location, like those “near me” searches.
What customers most want, especially outside of their local businesses, is a great experience. They want to know that their local businesses understand them and their community. Customers want to feel like a business is personalizing an experience just for them. According to one study, 86 percent of buyers will pay more for a better customer experience.
With that knowledge, it’s time to brush off local marketing techniques to claim your space online and in your community. This Blue Paper will discuss how to make sure your business is top of mind when the local community needs you and how to use marketing swag to improve the customer experience.
  Understand your customers
Knowing exactly who is going to be using your products and services will help you meet your customers where they are, whether it’s online or locally. This takes personalization. Studies show that 66 percent of marketers think they have a handle on personalizing advertising and marketing, but only 31 percent of consumers agree.
Personalization involves what is called “hyperlocal” marketing, and it’s important for businesses of any size wanting to capture the community’s attention. What does it take to be hyperlocal?
Know local demographics and customs—then develop content and ads to match.
If your business has many locations, make sure your social platforms are personalized for each community.
Create a brand story that matches your company but also speaks to the community.
The intent with these tactics is to give your customers that local feel, even if you’re part of a bigger organization headquartered somewhere else.
  Connect with local customers online
With so many people trying to find you using search engines, it’s important that your business maintains an updated web presence.
  Update your information online
If you’ve moved to a new location due to expansion or added a new store, ensure business listing sites have your correct contact information, location and hours. Doing so will have a significant impact on whether customers find you when they need you.
A few of the most important sites to update include:
Google My Business
Yelp®
Bing®
YellowPages®
WhitePages®
Your local chamber of commerce
FourSquare®
Facebook®
By verifying your contact information, you’ll also give your customers a place to provide online reviews. According to a BrightLocal® survey, 92 percent of consumers read online reviews, so asking for and getting customer reviews will enhance your web presence and your local reputation.
Use geofencing to turn local advertising into hyperlocal shopping
The popularity of mobile devices coupled with consumers’ habit of searching “near me,” has led to a recent rise in geofencing. This marketing tactic uses a combination of GPS and Bluetooth® technology to send push notifications to customers who have opted in to receive notifications from you when they step inside an electronic “fence” or defined virtual area. Using this technology can have enormous benefits to your business, like:
Generating more local sales
Offering hyperlocal deals to those within your area allows you to be flexible with what you offer and when. Your offers can literally change with the weather, or you can take advantage of a community event.
Increasing analytics and tools for metric analysis
While it can be difficult—and sometimes impossible—to know why someone came into your store, geofencing is able to tell you who is using your store and why. This valuable data can help you improve your customer experience.
Providing personalization for customers
With all the data you’ve collected, you can offer personal reminders and details about products or services that fit their profile.
Get out in your local community
Once you’ve established yourself online, one of the best ways to show that you’re part of your local community is to get involved. Here are a couple ways to build a stronger presence:
  Take part in local events
Being a part of local events gives you valuable face-to-face time with prospective customers and shows them you care about supporting the community.
In fact, for Kim Whitin, owner of Tri-State Concrete & Excavation in Fort Collins, Colo., taking part in local events is more about enhancing the company’s brand.
“We appear at many home shows,” Whitin said. “We have plenty of business, so we aren’t there to sell. We look at it more for branding. Our company name is out there on Google with excellent reviews, and we’re well rated with the Better Business Bureau®, so this is a way to get our name seen in the community. And If someone a year down the road says, ‘I need a concrete contractor,’ they might make the decision to use us because they remember us from that home show.”
When participating in local events, keep these tips in mind:
Do your homework: Select events that pair well with your brand. And ask other local businesses if the event typically sees a lot of foot traffic so that you maximize your ROI.
Know what your space will look like: Plan your space to achieve the perfect blend of marketing swag and promotional information that doesn’t look too cluttered or too sparse.
Choose the best marketing promotional products: Choose products the audience can use to keep your brand top of mind. For example, if you have an auto-repair shop, choose an item with multiple uses, like the Tire Gauge Keychain.
In Whitin’s case, she wanted to give away tote bags, but because the home show was being held at a new college stadium, exhibitors had to follow NFL® rules. Because cloth bags are not allowed in the stadium, she opted for a Clear Sportpack.
“Everyone was asking for a Tri-State bag to hold their gear because they weren’t allowed to bring in purses or diaper bags and had to have a clear bag to hold their personal belongings and swag in the stadium,” Whitin said. “Many people told us that they would be holding onto them for football games at a later date.”
Sponsor a local event or sports team
Every community has local events and teams—from charity walks to little league games to community gatherings. Sponsoring teams and events gives you the chance to create a positive experience for community members. After all, 72 percent of consumers say they have positive feelings about brands that provided a quality event experience. And 74 percent of consumers say they’re more likely to buy the products from brands that create memorable moments.
Sponsoring a local sports team can also be incredibly beneficial when it comes to getting seen in the community. Even a huge brand like Mondelez’s Ritz Bits® found a way to get engaged in local communities by sponsoring more than 1,000 U.S. youth soccer teams. The company then encouraged those teams to share social content. This led to more than 100,000 digital brand engagements and a 77 percent rise in purchase intent in their target demographic.
While sponsoring one or two teams won’t lead to quite that level of online connection, it will still earn you positive local impressions from players and spectators. Make sure your sponsorship includes team apparel or giveaways, like T-shirts and ball caps.
  Tips for local recruitment
Local marketing will help you find more than customers—it will also help you find local employees. As a recent article in Forbes® said, “Hiring from your local talent pool signals to your customers and clients that you’re a true citizen of your area. You’re invested in its growth, the wellbeing of its citizens and the health of the local economy.”
Hiring locally has its benefits:
It simplifies the hiring process: Not only are face-to-face interviews more helpful than those performed online, it’s also easier to research candidates.
It’s easier to build a network: If you hire one good employee, chances are they have local friends or family who are also good candidates, making it easier to create a better in-house talent pool.
Besides using more traditional means of recruitment, participating in local events—and not just job fairs—may help you find the right team members.
Kato® Engineering in North Mankato, Minn., sponsored a music festival to meet local community members. And find new employees.
“We like to support the chamber of commerce,” said Marketing Communication Manager Jason Miller. “And it helps us get our brand out in the community, and let people know we’re one of the bigger employers in the community.”
They gave out marketing promotional products, like pens and the Diversity Can Insulator, to people who stopped by their table. Miller also strategized how he could get the word out that they’re in need of new team members.
“Right now we’re hiring like crazy,” Miller said. “I gave out a business card with a QR code that brings people to our website’s career page, which has listings of all our current job postings.”
They also offered the promotional products during a recent four-day job fair at their headquarters. “We did a big advertising campaign through Facebook® target marketing, radio ads and billboards,” Miller said. “So far, we’ve hired three people on the spot.”
  Think local
No matter how many branches or employees your company has, every one of them is part of a local community. By claiming your space online, sponsoring local events and teams, and offering marketing swag that fits the local vibe, you can offer a great customer experience and show people you care about the community just as much as they do.

NRL Celebrity Tipsters: Who’s coming out on top midway through the season?
With 14 rounds of the NRL season now past us, we are halfway down the road to see who will take out the 2018 premiership.
As i'm sure we can all agree, this season has been full of surprises and uncertainties, particularly in the early rounds. Teams who were favourites to be fighting it out for top four sports at the start of the season are languishing at the bottom of the ladder, and teams who were virtually written off before a ball was kicked are proving themselves as genuine premiership contenders.
In what could be described as a nightmare start to the season for tipsters, I have been on a quest to find out who has the best Rugby League mind in the country. From Coaches to Journos, presenters to Immortals and everyone in between, i’ve taken a look at what tipping trends and behaviours have either helped or hindered these so called “gurus” using the celebrity tipster leaderboard.
Head or Heart?
It is always the main debate among tipping competitions- to go with your head or heart. One thing is for sure, if you’re taking advice from the experts, make sure they support an in form NRL team!
At this point we have a two tipsters at the top of the ladder on 65 correct tips apiece. Ex Panther Mark Geyer and former Knight Matty Johns (coincidentally co-workers at Triple M) are leading the pack. Hot on their tales is Phil “Gus” Gould, the Penrith supremo on 63 points.
Tumblr media
Upon looking at the NRL ladder after round 14, the Penrith Panthers are sitting equal first with the Dragons only suffering 3 losses. Both Geyer and Gould have obvious loyalties to the Penrith Panthers and have tipped the Panthers in every Round this year.
Sure, after picking up James Maloney many thought the Panthers would vastly improve on last season, but for them to be sitting at the top of the ladder has surprised most NRL pundits. Whilst most tipsters opted to go against the Panthers, particularly when Nathan Cleary wasn't in the side, Gould and Geyer never wavered and their loyalty has been rewarded by topping the tip count most weeks.
The same can somewhat be said for co leader Matty Johns. Johns has been extremely vocal about the chances of his former club Newcastle in this year's competition. The early form of Mitchell Pearce and Kalyn Ponga gave everyone in Newcastle belief that this team finally had what it takes. A few early wins got the team on a roll, but many still questioned if they could match it against the top teams.
Johns however, did not. He tipped the Knights to beat the Dragons, Rabbitohs and Panthers- the top three teams in the competition. This ultimately came back to bite him as the Knights were rolled in all three of those games. Had Johns not listened to his heart and went with the clear favourites in those games, he would be outright leader on the leaderboard and possibly made you some more money!
In a really bad example of tipping with your heart, Gorden Tallis has tipped the Gold Coast Titans in every game this year. Tallis, who works as an Ambassador role for the Titans is languishing in the bottom rungs of the celebrity tipster leaderboard, which comes as no surprise as the Titans have only managed four wins this season. Lesson learnt- stay away from the Raging Bull’s tips!
Don’t discount the Journos
Many people will say that if they didn't play Rugby League at the top level then don't listen to them. Well don’t listen to people who say that. In what is a big surprise, rugby league legends Wally Lewis and Peter Sterling have been anchored to the bottom of the leaderboard all season.
NRL journalists tend to watch more Rugby League then the common fan and pride themselves on having their ear closest to the ground in the world of NRL. When it come to injuries, suspensions, who’s in and out of games, who are the first ones to know? Journalists make up 5 of the top 10 tipsters and 9 of the top 20 on the leaderboard.
They are more often than not tipping games how they see the result panning out rather than who they want to win. Phil “Buzz “ Rothfield is an exception however. The Cronulla Sharks tragic has tipped the Sharks in every round this year.
Guys vs Girls
The celebrity females NRL tipsters have shown that their rugby league knowledge is just as good as the males. Much respected Fox Sports presenter Yvonne Sampson is in 5th position on the leaderboard and has consistently been amongst the top 5 tipsters all year.
Tipsters from QLD’s Courier Mail including Rikki-Lee Arnold and Sam Squires have also been amongst the leading pack all season, showing that the girls north of the border know their footy. Another Fox Sports presenter Lara Pitt, rounds out the top 20.
Stats that Matter
Home teams have won 65 games this year, compared to away team on 43. If you had selected the home team in every match this year you would be equal first on our tipster leaderboard.
Sitting at around a 60% strike rate could possibly get you home in your office tipping comp or return you a tidy profit if you are having a bet. Whether this trend continues in the second half of the season remains to be seen.
The bookies have not shown any faith in the Wests Tigers whatsoever this year. Despite their solid start to year, they have started favourites in only one of their wins, giving them the title of the ultimate 2018 underdogs.
In fact, despite the Tigers currently sitting outside the 8 in 9th spot with 7 wins, The Tigers have taken the most money from the bookies so far this year. If you had a $10 bet on the Tigers to win in every match so far this year, you would have a handy $173 profit with the Panthers being the next best at $151.

But, I Only Cried Once: Settling into expat life
I've now been in Peru for what has been a bit of an emotional roller coaster of a week and a half. I think the saga might be better told and a series of peaks and valleys; it's the feelings, not the timeline, that I'm really trying to capture here. Valley: at the time of our last post, that old friend that loves to linger like a fucking Karen around us twenty-somethings--self-doubt--was just beginning to trap me in the corner of my party. What the hell was I doing here? I haven't had a single moment of my life not essentially planned for me, with clear expectations since birth. Hell, I haven't even not been in a school every September since I was six. I moved to an entirely new city on a new continent without any sort of program or safety net. This matters for several reasons: I have no set way to make friends, no set way to make money, no one looking out for me to ensure that things can't go ALL the way wrong. I am ultimately entirely responsible for myself, and lots of decisions I make come with a healthy dose of good faith and a sprinkle of risk, sometimes with an "oh shit" kicker. Peak: THINGS ARE CHEAAAAAAAP. As we explore more around our neighborhood, I find that the streets are littered with little markets and restaurants. We can easily grab a meal for about 8-10 soles, which comes out to be a bit over $2. Though there isn't a great selection of groceries, it's definitely adequate and we are able to cook fairly healthy and definitely delicious meals pretty cheap. Valley: A few days after arrival, my computer stops charging. Before anyone (everyone) starts lecturing me on 110 vs. 220 voltage and I have to threaten to shove an adapter up your ass: COMPUTERS HAVE BUILT-IN VOLTAGE CONVERTORS. I have only dropped this computer ONCE in it's life and that was from a height of about 1.5 feet. I've made a conscious effort to not destroy this one, guys. I take it to the Mac store and--thank God--find someone who speaks English. However, he uses said English to tell me they'll need my computer for up to 10 business days, and he's not sure what's wrong with it. Ten business days is a lot of days when everything you do depends on a computer. Peak: I walk the four or so miles home from the computer store and get to explore Lima. It feels cathartic. I'm asked directions to the church by a local woman (LOL on so many counts) and am able to communicate with several of the men who work in our condo building. I find a big grocery store that has American facewash for a reasonable price. Vaaaaa-aahhh-aaaaah-ley: Because I am sans computer, Meygan lets me use her iPad. In fact, peak-within-a-valley, Meygs and Mark are so nice and let me use their stuff for everything. I plug it in with a new plug-in I bought here. It charges. I plug it in with that same plug-in but in my room. It stops charging. CRY COUNT MOVES UP TO 1. If everything I touch could stop blowing up that'd be so cool. I have to prepare for an interview with VIP Kid--an online English teaching program--without any sort of electronics available to me. This is when I start really feeling on my own and out of my element. Who let me do this? WHY IS NO ONE WATCHING ME?! Peak: I go to a bar in Barranco (hipster district) for Mundo Lingo, a language exchange party. I meet a new Peruvian best friend--he's an official translator--and he helps me with my Spanish/general knowledge of Lima. After he leaves, I make another Peruvian friend (as well as some German friends) and we go to a really cool bar directly over a pebble beach and drink Piscos. Double Peak: I get passed straight through (no second mock class) to become a VIP Kid teacher! I will now be making American money to teach Chinese kids while in Peru (and in my pjs). This is a big stress relief, as I imagine I'll only have to teach about 10-12 twenty-five minute classes to pay my rent each month. Triple Peak: I send in my resume for a job at an English pub. I am called in for an interview the next day. The interview consists of an incredibly nice Peruvian co-owner telling me the logistics, handing me a tshirt, and telling me to come back at 7pm to start my first shift. I work with a hilarious and hungover British girl, a beautiful and kind Venezuelan girl, the most mellow Brit I've ever met, an incredibly kind kitchen staff of two, and my manager, Jimmy. Jimmy is a typical lad from England, argumentative, complains a lot, and is too kind to successfully kick anyone out of the bar. I like him. It's pretty crowded the first night, but we're arguably overstaffed. I meet an EXUBERANT Chinese-American boy from San Francisco and his friend who has lived here after moving from Georgia (state, not country, I clarified) for 9 years. I get free food at work and just have to mix simple drinks and hand out beers. There is an Australian football game on (WOW, what a sport, scantily clad huge men tackling each other with little shorts and even less rules, highly suggest giving it a watch) and we have some really fun live music. The bar technically closes at 3, but almost everyone is there til four and the band and regulars stay and hang out with the staff until almost 6 am. I'm not too tired, though, because I'm so excited to have found new friends and a cool spot to hang out while making money. Valley: Traffic in Lima is absolutely insane. It takes 45 minutes for me to get to work and 15 minutes for the uber to even arrive. Factor in a large thumping sound and a resulting stop alongside the road and I'm five minutes work for my first day of work. [It definitely doesn't matter, though. I'm day-of hired and no one even knows my last name]. Also, crossing streets is a dangerous game. I generally find people who look like they live here and scamper behind them like a lost duckling. Infrastructure and transportation is not Peru's strong suit. Peak: Not having my computer forced me to actually start writing my book. Well, to be fair, I started writing on my Eurotrip, but I really just focused with character development and all the ideas that were spilling out of me at the cracks with no cohesive storyline. It was going to be a play (it still might be) but now, I think I wrote my first actual chapter of my novel. I guess I don't need to end with pros and cons because my whole post was about them, but I will add: there are SO MANY PARKS HERE. It's awesome. It's also been sunnier than last week, so I'm very into the idea of exploring outside more. Goals: Ride in a tiny can (typo for van, but I'm leaving it because it also applies). Lima has tons of these little tuk-tuk type vans. Some of them even have lights under them at night, and I imagine us getting into a 90s street race when that kinda underglow. Also, buy supplies for my new virtual classroom. Word on the street is that mail is awful here, so this could be a mini-valley. Cry count: 1

The Power of Volunteering
In the dictionary, volunteering is an altruistic activity where an individual or group provides services for no financial gain “to benefit another person, group or organization”.
Volunteering, in the form which we would understand, dates back to 1851. It’s the same creation date of the first YMCA in the United States. During the American civil war, educator Clara Barton and a team of volunteers started to provide clothing, food, and supplies for the sick and wounded servicemen. Barton then formed the American Red Cross in 1851 and began to mobilize volunteers for disaster relief, including supporting the victims of the Johnstown flood in 1889.
Today, volunteering is the backbone of many non-profit organizations across the US. Studies by Volunteering in America have shown that young Americans spent over 3.6 million hours for organizations or causes which they felt passionate about.
If you have never volunteered, you may not know what type of volunteering would be good for you or where you can start on your journey to becoming a volunteer.
There are thousands of potential opportunities that can allow you to share your skills and knowledge or learn something totally new. Volunteering posts vary from fundraising and administration, right through to building new schools or sinking wells overseas.
Now, you might wonder what good volunteering can bring you. It may surprise you that, apart from the feeling of being able to do something good for the wider community, there are a large number of benefits to carrying out volunteer work.
It makes you feel better
Research has shown that taking part in volunteering activities can make you feel better, both in body and mind!
A survey of over 3,000 adults by the UnitedHealth Group found that of those people who had volunteered, 76% said that volunteering made them feel better and 94% stated that volunteering improved their mood and self-esteem. It was found that people who volunteered were able to manage their stress more easily and feel a stronger connection to their community.
So, doing something good can do you some good!
“I love the voluntary work I do now and equally loved the voluntary work I did for the Stroke Association a few years ago. It gives me a purpose, and is good for my mental health.”, said Karla, a volunteer for a number of organizations.
You can learn new skills
When you volunteer, you get the chance to undertake training, learn, and practice a number of new skills. Many of these are soft skills which are skills that you are unlikely to learn from any university. These include communication skills, teamwork and the ability to adapt to any situation.
Working with strangers on a project will help you build a set of skills and earn experiences that will be vital for every part of your life. You will have to create links and communicate, understand objectives and even resolve disputes.
Soft skills are difficult to represent on your resume. You can say you have excellent team building or communication skills, but you won’t be able to prove them on paper. By volunteering, you’ll be able to demonstrate how you gained and used these skills.
See Also: Importance Of Soft Skills: Why Grades Aren’t Enough
You can make new friends
This is one of the importance of volunteering.
In a world of online friendships or as you transition from high school to college, you can lose some real connections. Although it might help to read your friends’ status updates, it doesn’t compare to ‘face to face’ friendships!
Volunteering can help you build new friendships with people from all walks of life. You will be meeting in an environment you both support and care about and will be on a shared journey. The people you meet could become very close friends or even more.
You are more likely to socialize with your volunteering colleagues than people who don’t volunteer. The issue is that despite being more connected than ever, we lack real friendships.
Many people find that they have very few friends who they regularly see face-to-face. A report published by the American Sociological Review found that the average American only has two close friends. A quarter, on the other hand, states that they have no close friends at all. Volunteering gives you an opportunity to step out of your usual circle of friends and colleagues and meet new people.
It makes you more employable
A report by the Corporation for National and Community Service, a federal agency that promotes volunteering, found that people who had spent time volunteering had a 27% better chance of finding a job than others who had never volunteered.
An individual who has taken the time and effort to become involved in a volunteer capacity demonstrates a natural work ethic, has a more developed set of soft skills and has gained or updated skills needed in the workplace. This is often referred to as ‘human capital’ which is defined as ‘the acquisition of “of all useful skills and knowledge…that is part of deliberate investment.” Schultz (1961). It is seen as an investment in skills and training which have a measurable economic payoff or return on investment.
Stewart Lucas is the CEO of a major mental health charity in the United Kingdom. He spent a year working for a community project in Manchester in the 1990’s. He said: “I do what I do because of volunteering. If I hadn’t done my year of volunteering in 1991-92, then I wouldn’t be in Manchester and I wouldn’t be the CEO of a leading charity. Most of my staff started as volunteers, and volunteers are the lifeblood of all our work. In fact, most, if not all, charity CEOs started as volunteers.”
Claire looked to find a role in education and found that volunteering offered the experience and contacts which enabled her to find a permanent job. “I volunteered in a school playgroup. This gave me great references, enabling me to get me a permanent job in a school.”
How can I go about volunteering?
There is a multitude of organizations and types of volunteering available both in the US and overseas. As a starting point, you may want to check the Reward Volunteers quiz. It can help you understand the sort of volunteering role that can suit your personality.
Volunteer roles are massively varied and reflect the wide range of not-for-profit organizations. The basic types include:
Formal – It’s generally a long-term volunteering which involves delivering services. This can include supporting care and activities in a care home, leading education session or acting as a volunteer driver.
Informal – This is a less defined form of volunteering. There may not be specific roles but there will be tasks that need to be undertaken when people have the time. These could include community volunteering, such as beach cleaning or volunteering for sporting activities.
Social action – These bring together people with common interests, such as environmental protection or political lobbying. They have a defined outcome for their activities.
The roles you can carry out are vast, from organizing charity events through supporting the charity administration and governance. You can either find a role where you have skills already or work with your organization to develop new skills.
It may be that you are very outgoing and will suit a role that involves public speaking, like fundraising or campaigning activities. If you are hands-on and practical, you could find roles in conservation, building and maintaining paths or clearing bushland.
In case you are a good listener, you may find the role of a counselor as the best fit for you. If you are sporty, you may want to look at coaching or supporting local sports teams or activities. This could include marshaling races or helping the safe running of sporting events.
Volunteering overseas
In case you want more volunteering opportunities, there are a large number of possible roles outside of the US. You should be aware that some projects will expose you to extreme poverty and you need to be ready to face such realities.
Remember, you will not be able to change everything by yourself. However, by volunteering, you can make a change by supporting people who truly need your help. As emotional and difficult as some placements can be, they can be equally rewarding.
You should be aware that there can be costs involved with volunteering overseas and this may come as a surprise. The organizations need to ensure that they have the funds available to support their cause. They need to make sure that they can provide food, accommodation and a support network for their volunteers.
The importance of volunteering
Volunteering is a two-way street. You will not just gain skills, experience, and friendships, but you will also be able to give something very precious- your time and energy.
Virtually, every single non-profit organization relies totally on volunteers to carry out their activities and they really make a difference. For example, The Samaritan volunteers give over 5.5 million hours of their time freely. This enables them to pick up the phone to callers and answer texts and emails from individuals who are desperate for advice. Callers contact the organization every 6 seconds day and night.
Volunteering doesn’t always have to involve life and death situations, but you’ll surely influence others’ lives.
In the words of Linda who has volunteered all her life, “It is truly a rewarding experience. Feeling you are making a difference. Giving without taking. Giving back if you have been given kindness. It is so important.”

Are there secrets and techniques to sporting excellence? Are these factors without problems manipulated for the advantages of the athletes? This text discusses the factors which could lead athletes and coaches to Peak Performance in Sports activities.
There has been many articles and books detailing standards, packages, fulfillment elements and so on which can lead to Height Overall performance in Sports. Many authors have written at the period approximately them and in many approaches, the standards and elements are popular. The principles of progressive resistance, variety, goal unique education, recuperation, and so forth are all undisputed underlying motives that allow athletes to reap Height Performance in Sports. This newsletter goes a step in addition by means of exploring these ordinary elements in an exceptional light. In the procedure, I am hoping to provide athletes and coaches alike a way to nearly apply these concepts and which are the factors with higher weight in terms of achieving success and Top Overall performance in Sports.
There are essentially set of things we want to look at. Technical and human factors. Let us check the previous set of factors first;
Technical elements
1. High-quality Guidance 2. Mastering Man or woman Abilities three . Excessive Health tiers four . Understanding Normal Crew Play five. Filling Up Key Positions of the Group 6. Minimise Mistakes in Games
1. Great Preparation
The difficult work for any Sports activities season begins with the preseason schooling which is very extensive. No body likes this season, as the paintings and training required is often very boring and painful. But this must be done for the athletes to be optimally organized for the rigours of the aggressive segment. The staying power, energy, pace and talent volumes need to be performed. Now not just the quantity of labor, However how tons Great is put into the Instruction segment is important as properly. Whilst players reduce corners and put in training at face value with out their heart and soul, it will display up later Inside the competition as fatigue, accidents or lack of sharpness of their Overall performance. Peak Overall performance in Sports cannot be viable below such circumstances. The Great of preseason Instruction is even extra critical in youngsters Sports.
Very often in colleges, the playing seasons for plenty Sports activities begin almost at once When the school yr begins. With our youngsters away for long vacations, our athletes very regularly go back to highschool to face competitions with little or no training time. Team play, Health constructing and intellectual Training are supposed to be finished in 2-three weeks, which in a Sports activities international is sort of impossible and impractical. This sort of Coaching is likewise damaging to the development of our kids. under these situations, coaches and instructors (and parents if viable) have a very essential responsibility to ensure that our athletes are nicely prepared for competition. schooling programmes for Sports activities ought to be drawn up and carried out at 12 months’s give up formerly. Our athletes need to remember that that their season efficaciously started Whilst their examinations are over. With a education programme started out, coaches and teachers can than teach athletes about a holiday schooling programme as properly. Every athlete should have one whereby, they can do something to enhance their gambling skills at some point of their ruin away from college. It may include such things as preserve a sure preferred of Health via endurance activities like cycling, going for walks or swimming, gambling trap and pitching In the outside with their siblings, or even Character practices to improve certain Abilities. The principle factor right here is to keep and enhance what has been attained Within the preceding season, so that athletes do No longer go back back to school and begin from scratch. Without a doubt making plans and schooling this manner will ensure First-rate Guidance for the Sports activities groups to achieve Peak Overall performance in Sports later.
2. Gaining knowledge of Man or woman Abilties
In all Sports activities and Games, there are sure ability sets and Abilties which are taken into consideration primary and essential. these should be accomplished via athletes before they could play at a better level later. In basketball, dribbling and executing a right lay-up are essential. Throwing, catching and fielding Skills are a ought to in baseball and softball. The push-skip and receiving a skip are necessary Capabilities in hockey and floor ball. The listing goes on. In preseason schooling, or on the earliest gambling level, those essential Capabilities should be made recognised to our young players, and all efforts and time should be spent on Mastering these simple Abilities. with out these Competencies, a coach will locate it very hard to execute more complicated Team performs to achieve Top Performance in Sports. If strikers can not even manage an extended skip from a teammate, how are we able to anticipate the equal player to preserve up the ball well up area in opposition to oppositions defenders and execute lay-off handed to oncoming teammates in support. It will be sensible for coaches to broaden those Capabilities early and additionally for players to preserve improving themselves in those Abilties despite the fact that they may experience that they’re precise sufficient already.
Even at expert levels, those basic Abilities for their Sports is vital for Height Performance in Sports activities. The repertoire of Competencies required and the depth of how these Skills are completed at the best levels are even extra acute. At the highest tiers where warring parties are very lightly match in all regions, one mistake can regularly bring about a win or loss. It’s far even more critical for experts to master all of the Capabilities required of the game or Sports activities. Simplest underneath such excessive conditions can Top Overall performance in Sports activities be viable.
three. Excessive Fitness degrees
At Excessive faculty tiers, many athletes would No longer have reached their maximal physical development but no matter how a good deal they train. Physiologically talking, the improvement in this place in youths may be very varied. A few youngsters reach a Excessive Health widespread faster than others, at the same time as others have frame kinds as a way to Only reply to schooling optimally after they become older. Hence, it may be assumed that a Team with the fittest group of gamers can have the maximum gain. no matter how skillful your combatants are, in case you are more healthy than him or her, you’ll be in a position to overcome your loss of Fitness by reacting swiftly to conquer your brief fall. Let’s consider, you are out dribbled by a extra skillful opponent in football. But if you are more fit than your opponent who have simply out-dribbled you, you’ll be able to music lower back fast sufficient to cowl your role once more. This side in Fitness for teenagers could be very crucial on the later levels of the sport too, as gamers generally tend to tire quicker at this age. A more healthy Crew will sincerely be able to prevail and rating greater later in the sport. gamers at this age need to be convinced of this need for Health, and be advocated to do some thing they can to reap the best stage of Health possible.
How approximately experts? Virtually, expert athletes are expected to own Health at the best tiers. If they may be Not, their opponents may be and therefore, they may outperform them and attain their Height Overall performance in Sports activities. Generally speakme, expert sportsmen recognize how to get into high-quality shape and hold that until the end of the season. Their bodily bodies also are In the nice country to be evolved to their fullest ability.
four. Information Basic Group Play
The next element of extraordinary importance in attaining Top Performance in Sports activities is understanding the general Group play by way of the players. Imagine a coach telling his prices to clear the balls down the flanks in any invasion recreation. you may be wonder what number of gamers genuinely recognize why they may be informed to do that. extra regularly than Now not, the gamers will just do what’s required or advised via the coaches. The Expertise behind their motion could be very frequently very little. They won’t understand that by means of playing the ball down the flanks or wing, it honestly forces the warring parties defence to unfold wider, consequently leaving extra gaps Inside the middle for the attacker to take advantage of finally. Another statistically benefit is that plays down the flanks Commonly result in the attacker getting the ball lower back if It is knocked out of sure. This is why, you regularly pay attention players or coaches shouting to their fees to ‘throw it down the line’. younger gamers love the direct direction to purpose and very often that means playing via the middle. something is taught in procedures to the players, coaches need to make each attempt to give an explanation for and make sure that all the gamers recognize the tactical importance of their performs. This form of coaching if done well, makes the players higher players and enhance their selection making at the pitch. And we’re continually searching out extra questioning gamers in our pitch if you want to give the Team a higher threat of reaching Height Overall performance in Sports.
5. Filling Up Key Positions of the Team
The 5th aspect that could produce Height Performance in Sports activities is clearly locating the right gamers to fill up the most key positions of the Group first. In any game groups, there may be key positions that should be filled first. The point shield in a basketball Team is the driver of the Crew. He controls all plays. A centre in ice-hockey is pivot in each protection and attack, For this reason he have to be the great and fittest and most abled participant. The catcher in baseball is the important thing man, as he dictates and calls the pitches, and additionally sees the entire fielding situation. those key positions ought to be stuffed first, even though it manner fielding a person out of role. I use to have a totally talented and strong striker who loves to attain dreams. Alas, I also have a large gap in goal-maintaining and he takes place to be the best handler of balls In the Crew.
