What i kinda want to happen is that the show will split to two plots:

1. The Doctor dealing with her companions, now probably wanting more explanations and losing trust. Them going oj adventures but the Doctor isolating herself more and putting up barriers (probably to process the grief of her home again)

2. Her and the Master working out the timeless child scenario and learning more about Gallifrey's origin, them working together but not really, sharing tidbits probably over communication rather than in person. This way maybe they can talk things through and hopefully get to the bottom of things.

Probably over the season this whole timeless child subplot could affect the Doctor (given the reaction the Master had) and cause her to show off the darker side of her. The one we're more used to in previous generations. That way she would really need to gain her companions trust.
