Oh man I saw your totk issues post and I agree 100%!! Those are all things that have really bothered me about playing totk, and things that made playing it not nearly as fun (the dungeons, the shrines, the building, etc).

Especially the map!! When I tell you I was so disappointed by the maps on totk, I was hoping for something new! It really just feels like a modded botw, not an official sequel.

I was wondering what your thoughts are on the concept of “what if they had sent link to the past instead”? So the surface map would feature huge differences in the land forms and buildings that exist, and we’d get to see more ganon whenever he visits Hyrule, or go out to the desert to see Gerudo town, etc.

If they really wanted no sheika tech, they could also just have it being newly built? And you could introduce the new characters and such, etc etc.

(I also think the past champions are such a missed opportunity? If botw is about grief and loneliness, and finding hope in the hopeless, and Totk is about coming together despite that, it could have been really interesting if Link had gone to the past! They could have used the past setting as an eerie reminder to what Link and Zelda had lost when the Calamity struck!)

THAT BEING SAID: I’m not as familiar with the legend of Zelda lore, and haven’t played totk very much! I wanted to know your thoughts on this because you seem to have a lot of story and game mechanic knowledge that could explain why this could be a bad/good idea!

(Plus, your discussions are always super interesting to read, as is your custom totk lore, so I’d love to know what you think🩷)

im glad you enjoy my rants, i often feel like im being overly mean but tbh were else could i just rant as much as my heart desires without getting spammed by annoying people (certainly not on twitter lol)

i have talked alot, and i mean ALOT, about totk and my issues with it, both lore and gameplay wise, i dont claim to be an expert on any, though i am an old zelda fan and aspiring gamedev, i really only talk about what i feel about it, what i think about it, and by all means im biased as hell xD

if you dont know yet, the "ganondoodles rants" tag is where all my rants go, so if you are interested in reading more on my totk thoughts thats the way to search (given tumblrs search in blog works ..)

and to answers your question, i have touched on it briefly, sending link back in time before the shiekah tech existed would have been an easy way to excuse how they jsut got .. rid of it, bc they didnt, it literally didnt exist yet- and for reusing the map- though that argument falls a little flat bc ... they coud have already done that in present totk, like i brought up in one of said rants, things like flooding gerudo desert, collapsing death mountain, drying out zoras domain etc, and changing the location of the main populations would have already done alot without having to redo the map in its entirety;

the little changes to map itself really wouldnt that big of a deal if they didnt also send you to the EXACT same locations AND repeat the SAME LOCATIONS AGAIN but in the underground, like thats a fact i have talked about multiple times bc its so illogical in every way, anywhere theres a settlement on the surface theres a bigger mine below, its so stupid, the shrines conenct to a lightroot, the same, again, you dont need to explore bc theres nothing TO explore (its also extra weird bc theres one below taburasa (tarrey town) which .... link literally build with dumsda (hudson) a few years ago .. unless that got retconned too idk wth do i know anymore honestly- AND it makes the sonau extra weird bc why the hell do they have a bigass mine under every settlement ESPECIALLY UNDER GERUDO TOWN like, that just adds to my suspicions towards them)

anyway, link to the past was the point and yes, it could have solved a few issues (mainly shiekah tech and the whole "story" taking place AGAIN in the past completely disconnected from you the player) i personally am not so much a fan of it, but that mostly comes down to me just not liking time travel, i dont like going back in time, i want to play and do things in the here and now, i want to repair the damages of the calamity, find out its origins, maybe fix that too, i love to learn about past stuff too, but that more in text, no literal flashback (unless done well), i want to connect to the past but it also holds alot of mystery that maybe shouldnt be touched upon, some mysteries and unkowns are much more interesting when left as such, i want to THINK about things and come to conclusions that are logical and makes sense in hindsight even if it wasnt clear at the start, i dont want information and what to think about it told to my face over and over like im stupid

after botw i really didnt care much about the past, maybe about the acient hero who alot of people specualted to be of gerudo origin due to its red hair- which also got a monkeys paw curled bc in totk they do sth with but its so stupid and insulting that i do not accept it as canon, say what they want, there are no dog people anywhere in the past nor present botw/totk wtf is that i hate it- and its not even .. why is that the reward for that, it has literally NOTHING TO DO WITH TOTK ITSELF I COULD YELLLL AAAARGH

main point is that really, i wanted to explore the past .. in the present, i hoped to find broken old shiekah structures, old labs and maybe some left over damage and records from when the old king persecuted the shiekah for their tech, i wanted to know where the ancient energy the shiekah used was coming from, what the boss arena in the middle of hyrule castle really was- so many things just discarded and acted like they never happened or mattered; i dont want to travel into the past, i want to discover whats left of it, piece it together, discover dark secrets you can ask no one about bc all that knew about it are long gone- thats what intrigued me about botw, it felt like there was so much left to discover only for totk to throw it all away and just do its own thing .. but not commit to that hard enough either so its neither its own thing nor a sequel-

I’m very sorry that I’ve been gone for so long and left all of the asks hanging in my ask box for a terribly long time (since May). At first I wasn’t able to write replies at all, but then, when I finally got some free time, I prioritised writing Nebula instead. Very sorry once again 💔

Just so I won’t spam with a bunch of replies, since it’s mainly the blog dedicated to the Nebula College materials, I have compiled them into one neat post, hehe.

Ooohh, Anon, now I’m curious who you’re talking about 👀 If they have at least a little bit of the eliteTM aura about them (even Soma has it...), they’ll be fine. Unicorns have to deal with each other while thinking they’re the most important people in the world due to their upbringing, so they have a surprisingly working flow among themselves that saves them from getting their egos hurt, which is the most difficult problem for them to solve. They’re also supposed to behave if they don’t want to get expelled, but it’s so hard and expensive to put your child in this institution, that few boys end up like this lol But thank you for sharing anyway!

You’re not a pinhead, Anon! In fact, I’m very happy you don’t quite get what’s going on there because it’s a spoiler of his route. All the boys got this type of comic (to celebrate me finishing with the plot summaries of their individual routes), but I could post only Liam because it’s so vague and hard to understand. Nothing good is going on for Edmund, that’s for sure <3 I’m sorry, I’ll have to keep you in the dark.

He's here! The lamb of revelation and the snake of Eden. It's Adam! Eve's unwanted second half and the cockiest mother fucker you’ll ever meet. My newest Isaac OC who I have come to love a lot. Had a lot of fun theory crafting this fella and how he plays. I really want to talk about some gameplay stuff not mentioned here, as well as some of my inspirations behind his concept. All of which will be undercut because it'll be a lot of text lol

Going first with gameplay stuff because its shorter and more relevant to the post itself

Let’s start with his non-tainted self.

Adam is a character that plays similarly to Eve. When at 1 1/2 red hearts or higher, he’ll transform into the Lion of Judah. This form boosts his tear rate and shot speed. However he also starts with Shard of Glass, so he’ll start to bleed out when taking damage. He can use his starting item The Jar to collect hearts for this situation. Shard of Glass keeps its 25% chance to drop red hearts.

If you only have 1 red heart or less you can not transform into the Lion of Judah. Soul hearts not taken into account.

Standard form has lowered tear and shot speed. Slightly faster speed and base damage. Starts with 3 red heart containers, but 2 of them are empty.

Starts with Shard of Glass, Lion of Judah, and The Jar

My theoretical Adam mod would also give a slight boost to The Jar. Allowing it to collect up to 4 red hearts that are on the ground instead of having to collect them on your person. He starts with two empty heart containers just so you don’t immediately hop into the Lion of Judah form. He’s built around health balancing and I really like the dynamic he has with his items.

Here’s a bit more explanation on Lion of Judah being used on non-Adam characters before we move on to The Nachash

When at full read health, you’ll transform into the Lion of Judah. Gives you a boost in tear rate and shot speed. Need at least 2 red hearts to use. Will not activate if you are not at full red health. Soul heart characters and Keeper will not get any use from this item. The Lost can still use it despite his lack of health, will always be active.

Now to The Nachash. He’s a bit more complicated because he too has a special interaction with his item. However I didn’t have room on the item sheet to write it out and I don’t feel like drawing more ref sheets for him.

His play style is a lot like Tainted Samson. As Adam deals damage, it slowly starts to escape (in the same increments as 4.5 volt. It needs 4 “charges” before releasing). Red veins will slowly start creeping up from his neck. A small animation will play when the snake is released as to not catch players off guard when it shows up. For about 30 seconds Adam will have a new set of attacks. His tears will become red and deal more damage and gain poison tears. His head will orbit around him and block shots. He’ll also have a launch attack via using his pocket item. The goal is to kill as many enemies as possible before the timer runs out. He can also eat pickups using his lunge attack.

Once the timer is over, the snake will return to his body. Every 5 enemies killed will give him a temporary random stats up for the floor, and every pick up eaten will be regurgitated to a random heart pick up (red and soul hearts are the most common, followed by bone, black, and rotten. Can’t make golden hearts). Killing a boss in this form will give two temporary boosts. Adam’s Pocket Item “Adam’s Apple”, which allows him to use his lunge attack, can only be used when the snake is out. But can be spammed as much as desired during that time.

4.5 volt does not affect how quickly the snake shows up. If an enemy is killed by anything other than your attacks, it will not count towards your kill counter.

Starts with Adam’s Apple as a pocket active. Standard form keeps his slightly higher speed.

He now has a slightly higher tear rate but also has less damage. His low shot speed stays. Has three read hearts.

The way this item works with other characters is on his item sheet, and it’s really long so I won’t type it out again. The only difference is the timer they have to use the snake is shorter and has to charged via room clears.

My inspirations behind Adam

I’ve always really liked the story of Adam and Eve. Creation stories have always piqued my interest for a lot of different reasons. It’s a fun thought exercise for both the people themselves and the meaning behind their fall. With the accidental take over Adam gave me because of his role in my purgatory au, I figured I should just make an actual tboi character based on him since he’s stuck in my brain anyways.

The first thought I had immediately was that I wanted him to have some sort of connection to Eve. It didn’t feel right to have them be completely disconnected given how intertwined they are in their story. I knew I wanted him to have some kind of transformation similar to Eve, though based on the idea of having health instead of losing it. It was pretty simple after that, just make the transformation require at least 2 red hearts. The “holy” side of him is just a reflection of Eve. He’s a holy man on the side of God, Eve is not.

Though his tainted form strays away from that idea. Being based on the fall of man, Adam becomes infected with the snake that caused it. Most of his stats are meant to be flipped in comparison to Eve, including the boosts that his Lion of Judah form gives. Though I don’t think I did that very well lol. A lot of his play style isn’t based on anything biblical. It’s my attempt at making a character that could realistically exist in-game while still having my own spin on it. I think I did a decent job. Though his lion/snake design would probably not be so white. I’d image his tainted form would be a lot more like a stereotypical demon with black skin and horns. But eh, I wanted to keep it different than all the other demon items.

The actual form itself, the Lion of Judah, isn’t based on a lion. It’s based on the Lamb in the book of revelation. The phrase Lion of Judah acts more like a place holder and to match the naming theme that WoB had. Both being based on figures from Revelations is also a theme I wanted to keep.

“And I began to weep bitterly, because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or look inside it. Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed to open the scroll and its seven seals.” Then I saw a Lamb who appeared to have been slain, standing in the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which represent the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth.…” rev 5:4-5:6

The form itself doesn’t have 7 eyes cause I couldn’t fit them all in a concise design. I wanted this to be realistically moved into a Isaac-like sprite. But they do have all 7 horns! All loosely connected into a crown-like formation. Which is a nod to the Lion of Judah being considered a ruler. It’s also just, easier to draw. The slain lamb was a very convenient excuse for the shard of glass edition. I added the idea of the glass shard to make keeping the Lion of Judah form a bit harder on Adam. So I just moved the cut to his neck like that of the Lamb and bam! Character design.

The Nachash is pretty self explanatory compared to his regular form. Nachash is the herbrew word for serpent. The item Adam’s Apple being based on the forbidden fruit that Adam and Eve ate. His snake form based on the snake that tempted Eve to eat the fruit. The slit is now running all around the neck because his head gets popped off. I removed the horn in the middle of his “crown” as a reference to the number 6 being the evil number of the Bible. And also the split crown could be seen a mention to his fall from grace. That’s all on him, the Nachash don’t got much going on inspiration wise.

That covers everything I wanted to talk about here. Any suggestions for his design or gameplay is accepted and appreciated! He is a fairly new character so a lot of this I made on the fly in a few days. I don’t have the modding skills to make him real unfortunately but maybe one day I’ll release the bundle pack with Job in it as well.

I was considering adding Adam to my Job ask blog because he is a fun character, but I would have to mess around with my lore a lot to have an excuse to get him in. I didn’t talk about how his personality is, but basically he’s a very cocky, show off kind of person who thinks he’s the coolest guy around. Has a massive lying problem. 5 - current favorite mod

i've actually discovered so many great ones for ts2 recently! i don't remember most off the top of my head but the ones i can say im super impressed with are the favorite color mod and its add-ons that make various objects different colors depending on what sim likes (sorry i cant link it because im on my phone and its a bit hard lol but if anyone needs any links i'll find them!) i was also blown away with some other things like: the asexual trait, the mod that lets you pick sim's reproduction options, werewolves get matching hair colors when they turn, pick your wand, spectral cat breeds, and of course the overlays like body hair and tattoos!!! i haven't even tried most of them yet but just the fact that you can do so many new things in this game are super exciting lol. i also feel the same way about ts1, there's even less mods of course but whenever there are new gameplay features i find it so sexc even if i never play it lol just reading about it and seeing pics feels like being reborn

ahhh so many!! if i were on my laptop i would probably actually look up who i have most in my folders but im not feeling like it rn so off the top of my head i can say ive been really into platasp things recently they're awesome!! im also super impressed by things jacky93 creates and im in love with monilisasims for all the awesome momma lisa content!! i won't tag them because im shy but i promise to tell them i love them next time i see them. there's also a creator i really love but im super embarrassed because i can't find their page but once i do im probably gonna spam it to make up for that

15 - how many hours have you spent playing the sims?

more than i could ever recall, earliest proof of me playing is dated either 2004 or 2005 i don't remember but either way i have been hooked since really badly. i assume my most played game is either ts2 or ts3, i played ts1 a lot as well ofc bc it's my favorite game and as for ts4 hasn't been as much but i did have at least two families i played for two generations so i think that's decent. the game i think i like the most in terms of playability is ts3, aside from the lagging rip

17 - in your gameplay, are you more task-driven or story-driven?

im gonna be honest with you. because of adhd i really need to feel motivated to do something esp play something so whether i play a story or just for the fun of it i need to also set gameplay goals so it's complicated lol and it also means i generally play with a story in mind and that keeps me going. and i love love love legacy challenges

This is an ask blog for HLVRAI Joshua Freeman that follows a set narrative that can be influenced and interacted with by the audience! Each story arc is tagged as a “chapter” of the story, and you can find each chapter linked over in the Chapter Index section of the blog! The chapter selection can also be found down below. In order to navigate on mobile, you’ll need to open the blog in your web browser.

STORY:

GRTV: Gamechanger is a story that takes place ten years after the events of GordonRadioTV. We follow the perspective of Joshua Freeman, a somewhat reserved teenaged boy who’s curious about the digital world around him. After all, ever since the Failsafes were defeated, they could make of it what they pleased. Gordon, though, tends to be a tad…overprotective. In an attempt to prove himself, Joshua decides to take matters into his hands, and, well.

Joshua Freeman quickly finds himself in unfamiliar waters.

WARNINGS:

GordonRadioTV and it’s sequel are stories that contain canon-typical violence, discussions of memory loss, death, mind control/possession, apocalyptic scenarios, PTSD and other mental health issues, etc. All of these subjects will be properly tagged if they come up, and if you need something else tagged just let the mod know. While yes this story does have a happy ending and the characters who go through these things will be okay, if these subjects bother you please be wary. Read with caution!

RULES:

NO NSFW ASKS! The main character is a minor so I don’t wanna see any of that shit aimed towards him. Jokes with the adult characters are fine, but don’t be too explicit and again don’t do that shit with Joshua.

In the last 6ish hours we have gotten 6 asks about Killer Killer and I’m gonna answer them in one post to not spam. The first few answers will be briefer than they should, probably, because my laptop fucking died in the middle of writing this post. Pain

Right, so like Junko was more of a broad inspirational type, the “sweet” while Mukuro was the “ugly” not in looks, but in actions. A genuine danger to Junko’s plans, with more of a lasting influence without even trying. Like Isaac from Castlevania. A willing tool who would raze the world if they figured out they could be the hand holding the knife rather than the knife being wielded. And they really like being a knife. Mukuro was the one who actually did things for Junko. All the murdering, all the butchering, all the violence, and not being brainwashed, not one bit. No regret to her actions, not one bit.

I haven't played Castlevania!

Anyways, that's an interesting POV. Unfortunately I can't remember what I typed here and nothing comes to mind. I sorta agree but I don't have any arguments anymore. Sorry about that.

Firanaka, I must know. What were your thoughts when Killer Killer indicated that Mukuro Ikusaba was still alive / had broken out? Like initially. What were you thinking? At first? After reading that?

I didn't pay a lot of attention to that! I felt like it's gonna be explained soon, so I didn't latch onto the thought. Maybe I considered it a bit weird? But as soon as multiple Mukuros were shown I figured that there must have been some clones or impostors (sus). I didn't really expect her to be actually alive, and I'm glad she wasn't (sorry Mukuro).

Killer Killer is what Danganronpa 3 should have been. It had a more competent writing crew too. Except for the head thing. There was a more creative solution that THAT, certainly.

Ehhh... I have to disagree.

Despite both KK and FA being stories about Future Foundation set after DR2, I think that even though their "setting" niche is similar, their... "purpose" niche? Is different?

I didn't really like FA - it didn't flesh out its new characters well, it bored me a LOT, the plot was hard to follow. The only episode that I even liked was the UDG one, but I feel it didn't fit well within what FA was supposed to be. I wish it was better - but also, it's meant to *be* a sequel to DR1&2. It's meant to be a bit more about characters we know. It's meant to showcase us how Future Foundation operates on a high level (as in, the "ruling" parts).

KK was better written and it gave focus to Misaki, Takumi and the fruity guy I can't remember the name of, it barely had 1&2 characters and they weren't as much. It also made sure to showcase us how FA functions on a *broad* level, instead. It also shows us FF in less of an active crisis (at least until the last few chapters). Similar goes to world as a whole, despite the crime being all time high, there are still idols, for example. It still had its issues, like the chapter where the fruit got introduced felt kinda rushed, the decapitation part felt out-of-place, the fruity guy seemed more fucked up for the sake of being fucked up. Other characters like Mekuru or the pins-in-hair lady also got barely any development, I think.

KK and FA should still coexist. I just wish that FA was better.

And yeah... I didn't pay a lot of attention to the head thing at first, but it didn't really feel that fitting. Danganronpa is very strong on death permanence, and all that. The time flow in that part was also... weird? I wouldn't give all of what happened there a whole 24 hours, it felt more like 3 hours max.

The ending was really satisfying though!

I kept getting the impression in Killer Killer that the girl protagonist would end up being Mukuro secretly alive or someone else, much like how the other novel series kept having someone secretly be ME! Junko Forking Enoshima! The Ultimate Despair!

LOOOOOOL. I haven't thought about that, but that'd be really funny. I actually thought she was Ruruka at first, and I tagged the first Killer Killer post with Ruruka rather than Misaki... I quickly fixed that once I figured that out.

So Killer Killer is Dexter but Gay?

The only Dexter I know is the one from Cartoon Network who had a laboratory and I do not think that Takumi and him were similar. And Takumi feels like a token straight. Unless you mean his fruity childhood friend, but then, he ain't a scientist.

Did you know that Killer Killer is the same individual as Sparkling Justice?

I didn't, and I don't think it's that. The theme of killing criminals is actually pretty popular, lol. Though, there are some hints here and there... hmm... Maybe?

A2) Sorry, probably not. Nothing personal! It's just that keeping things organized with the current tagging system is a lot of work, and adding unrelated tags will add a bunch more work than I'm willing to take on as a single person. Edit: We now have a "suggestive" tag!

A3) Again, probably not going to happen anytime soon. (But if I ever do get any complaints, I might consider it!) I may also consider adding gif and video tags at some point also.

2: Have some knowledge of Drawn to Life (you don't have to know everything. But if you don't know the general plot of the DS games at VERY least, it probably won't work out. I prefer you have general knowledge of all games excluding the spongebob one because spoilers will be everywhere)

4: Be willing to communicate! (Don't reorganize or make new tags without letting me know! I got a little system in place!)

5: Don't spam!

Q6) "Will you tag spoilers?"

A6) Yes! Look out for the tags "dtl spoilers" for the original drawn to life, "tnc spoilers" for The Next Chapter on the DS, "wii spoilers" for the Wii version of The Next Chapter, and "tr spoilers" for Two Realms! However, sometimes posts can accidentally go untagged. So if you want to avoid spoilers of any of the drawn to life games, I recommend avoiding this blog and maybe blocking it. By the way, if we were to get another game, I wouldn't worry about spoilers from this blog for the first several months at least. This is because it takes a long while to prepare (mentally and physically) new tags for the blog.

Q7) "Hey! I don't want my meme/post on this blog! Can you take it down?"

A7) Sure! I can do that. Just link the post you're referring to, and I'll take care of it.

Q8) "Hey, that meme/post was made by someone who is really bad and gross... Can you delete it?"

A8) The answer to this is kinda complicated and highly depends on the situation. Since this blog is a sort of archive, I am very reluctant to remove posts. But if the post is recent enough, I might consider removing it. However if the post/meme is old enough, I'll likely consider it public domain and probably keep it up. However, If convinced the original poster is bad enough, I will go out of my way to avoid content from them. Also don't worry, if you point out a post that has crummy content (lgbtq+phobic, racist, ableist, etc) I'll remove it.

Q9) "What's up with the "discord nonsense" tag? Some of the stuff in there isn't even Drawn to Life related! Are they all from a specific server?"

A9) The "discord nonsense" tag is a general tag for anything related to the discord app/servers. In other words, it doesn't apply to only one server. However, anytime you see a discord post that doesn't seem to have anything related to Drawn to Life, that specific moment/meme is from the Drawn to Life for All discord server! Q10) "Hey, that post isn't a meme! I thought this was a meme blog! ...Do you think that post is a joke?"

A10) While this is a meme blog that primarily focuses on memes, other non-meme posts get reblogged here for varying reasons. One of the most common reasons is that the post simply had something that was funny/silly. Sometimes it's the content itself, and sometimes it's just a silly caption under a piece of art. Another common reason is that the post was lgbtqa+ related. The Drawn to Life fandom is largely comprised of queer people, and thus a lot of these kind of posts (jokey/silly or otherwise) exist! Lgbtqa+/mogai posts added here are NOT added here to mock them. They are added here because they're cool and I want to share them. There's a good amount of non-meme posts here that are here just because they're cool. 😎

Q11) Hey, do you repost memes? Is there a tag for reposted stuff?

A11) Yes, I sometimes do repost memes! All reposts are tagged as #repost. If I missed any, lmk!

Q12) Hey this post is dated/credited wrong!

A12) Sometimes finding the year(s) of a post/meme is challenging. Especially if it's reposted from somewhere else (whether the reposter is us or someone else). Giving proper credit can be difficult for similar reasons. So if you notice that a year tag or credit given looks off, be sure to let me know!

Q13) What's with the everybody loves/hates x tags? Do you have some kind of agenda with these?

A13) Like all the other tags, they are purely categorical! They are for any mention/implication of people liking/disliking these things (and in the case of the everybody hates wilfre tag, it's about him being not well liked in-game). These tags are named like that to exaggerate the love/hatred of said thing (as many people tend to do outside of this blog). The tags' exaggeration are intended to be silly (and lightheartedly poke fun at those who exaggerate this sort of thing). These tags are NOT intended to spread any kind of agendas or the blog's personal opinion. They're not telling you what to like/dislike, nor are they telling you liking/disliking certain things are wrong. The tags ARE reflections of what I've seen in the fandom. If you want an opposite of one of these tags, lmk! If there's enough posts that fit the bill, I'll consider making it!

Q14) What's with the tag "sexy wilfre"??? 👀 👀 📷

A14) It's a joke about Wilfre being a "(tumblr) sexy man". For posts where he's treated as one by fans (or at the very least, one attractive raposa) Admittedly, I could've worded that one better lol.

hi, A/3 volunteer back again! i hope i can answer your questions properly, but i’m on mobile so sorry if i get a bit confused. it’s also going to be quite long but i hope you can figure out which questions i’m replying to. let me know if you need any more clarification!

1 - as tag wranglers, we don’t moderate content via deletion, etc - we just move fics into the correct tags, and it’s typically on a fandom basis (for example, i might solely wrangle for something like the supernatural fandom only). i’ve never come across ‘problematic’ tags since most of the time, it’s just sorting tags into like... more general tags? so example - someone tags a fic with ‘kinda fluffy kinda angsty’. we would then kind of make it so that tag redirects to ‘fluff with angst’, even though it still appears as the original tag on the fic. does that make sense? i’m also a little unsure of the other questions you had here - which is totally my fault, i’m in the middle of writing an essay for uni that needs to be in in like... 12 hours and my brain is frazzled - but if you were asking about a situation where if i was concerned that a single user had a collection of fics that were all entirely based upon something illegal and reported their entire account to mods, would it be deleted - i’m not sure. tag wranglers are kind of like low-level moderators, and we’re not what would typically be thought of as moderators since we simply reorganise content versus actually removing it. since the reporting process is typically through the site itself and is handled by an entirely separate team, i cant speak for how they think or what their process is.

2 - it’s up to our judgement as to if we want to report it, but again, the tags we wrangle are VERY general. tags like ‘dead dove don’t eat’ and stuff that are typically full of polarising content arent something i’ve come across, because i think they make up a minority of most fandoms when put against tags like ‘fluff’ and ‘angst’ and even stuff like ‘chocolate’, lmao. i’m not certain what happens when a report is processed and the fic is found to be removable - what i do know though is that with fics that are seen as breaking specific laws (i.e depictions of CSA, slander, etc) mods are often a lot more hard-handed for several reasons (reputation both within the community and in terms of the fact they could very much get in legal trouble). again though, i’m a low-level moderator and don’t see that side of the process. however, if i report something and it’s not taken down, i’m not implicated in any way. it’s been a while since i’ve been on the site and reported anything so i’m not entirely certain if reporting is 100% anonymous or if you have to supply details like email, but i think if you DO supply things, it’s to ensure you aren’t mass-reporting someone (bc i think that counts as targeted harassment). email is also possible to fake, so i think you can make the process anonymous if you want to. as for how often i personally report fic - not often. i’m a CSA victim (which is why this topic is touchy for me tbh), and i don’t like to go through the process because i find it arduous - you have to give an explanation as to why you’re reporting the fic, and i find it triggering at times. i’ve also never been in a position where i have found a fic while actively volunteering that i feel has been necessary to report, so i can’t speak for that either. all of that being said - i’ve heard of and seen on one occasion fics and entire accounts be deleted for harassment/slander - in particular, i’ve heard multiple times that accounts dedicated to purposely like... making fun of? or like technically harassing? kpop boy group members have been taken down because even though their content is ‘technically’ fanfiction, it’s obviously just there to incite hatred against a specific person. so, imo, if mods are quick on taking down accounts obviously run by 14 year olds in fandom drama writing numerous fics where boyband member A calls boyband member B stupid and tells him nobody likes him, i think they’re very likely just as serious about taking down more serious content. that’s just my opinion and my personal experience though, and it’s distinct from my volunteering.

overall, on the whole topic of CSA on the website - it’s really tough even just as a basic content moderator. there’s lots of reasons as to why people post it, and though people are very obviously welcome and encouraged to think critically about everything, it’s a fact that the topic is really really difficult to manoeuvre (culture, who is posting it, when was it posted, why it’s being posted aka vent fics, etc). as i said, i’m a CSA victim myself, so i understand the frustration, but it’s too nuanced and difficult a topic to be able to say ‘ban it all’. however, i do think the site is doing their best to crack down on stuff that is very obviously on there for one specific reason, and i also think generally, they’re changing things so people are able and sometimes encouraged to anonymise themselves by not giving any profile info and to protect themselves by turning off comments completely, etc. i find that you can make it really easy to curate your posting experience so that essentially, you can post but nobody can really interact.

3 - i like tag wrangling! i got into it because i saw a position on the front page of the site and decided to go for it. it wasn’t very taxing to get into and you don’t have to put much work in - a couple of hours a week is enough, and they’re understanding about work/uni/etc. it’s easy to meet other people through volunteering, and they ensure everyone is over 18. i don’t read through fic myself - just through tags, and then i sort them into their proper places. if something is tagged wrong, we don’t get in touch with the author, we just do our best to reorganise the tag so it redirects into the correct place - again, for instance, if someone writes a fantasy AU that they tag with ‘high fantasy prince/princess AU’ and that tag doesn’t exist, we would sort it into the main tag for a royalty AU or something like that. re: monetisation of fics: technically, monetised content is not allowed on A/3 - if someone is advertising their patreon or kofi in their authors notes or profile, you’re supposed to report it just as a general user. i think it’s because it puts the site at risk of being sued or something? but as a low level mod, i don’t HAVE to report these things unless i see them while i’m tag wrangling (aka i see a tag like ‘my patreon is XYZ!!!!! send me money!!!!!!’) and i personally don’t report monetised fics because ... i don’t find it a prominent issue, lmao. people are also learning to avoid it by being like this is my tumblr or this is my twitter, and when you click on their social media they link their patreon or whatever There instead. also, idk who decided the colour scheme! i think it was just like a generally agreed upon thing with the site designers. i also think there’s been convo for a few years about dark modes and stuff on the site, but i’m pretty sure the site has to get a few more things out of the way before they’ll prioritise that (i know they’re trying to work on a better moderating system for things like spam and harassment atm bc the spam filter absolutely sucks dick lol). i’ll totally drop a mention like WOW, wouldnt it be AMAZING if we could have this SPECIFIC COLOUR SCHEME, tho <3

Alternative title - Exposing Luna: A Receipt-Filled Thread

Disclaimer 1: I didn’t want to do this, I never wanted to make this a public affair but she has been harassing my friends and I’m DONE, officially. She’s been self-victimizing for months and obsessing and stalking my friend and I’m not having it. And now she’s “exposed” us on tumblr. Enough is enough.

Disclaimer 2: obviously, for my friends’ safety, I will be censoring the names and handles of those who do not want to be mentioned, but who still wanted their part of the story to be included. But y’all can come at me all you want.

I’ll put this under a cut to save peoples’ dashes, but PLEASE read it if you are in ANY WAY involved with Alice/fluffyjhs. Thank you.

So.

Our group of friends knew her as “Luna”, but she’s known currently as Alice, and her current blog handle is “fluffyjhs”. Just because I personally knew her during her time as Luna, I’m going to address her as so, although I doubt it is her real name.

Luna joined our network I think in mid-October 2018 along with a wave of other new members. At first, everything seemed relatively normal: she talked with other members and made friends. It should be known that one of the members of the network - Phi, @guksdimple - was taking time off of the chat for personal reasons.

The first thing that weirded me out was that Luna was acting as if she knew Phi personally. I didn’t think too much of it, I figured they were mutuals. I’m personally close with Phi and so I asked her if she wanted me to say hi to Luna for her. She then told me that she didn’t follow Luna before nor did she know her until now. (I know this sounds random but it will be important for later points.)

Minor issue. Amongst her other habits, it was weird, but not too off-putting.

(Other habits include: leaving the chat randomly only to ask to join back a little later; jumping into any conversation Hoseok-related in a retrospectively possessive manner; whining when one of her messages was ignored (in a very busy, approximately 30-person group chat).)

Luna didn’t start truly off-putting members until another member - whom I will call Chloe - came to the admins of the network (Phi, Bri @starjeon and I) to confess that she felt ignored and even looked down upon by Luna. Chloe and Luna had made contact before being members of the network and it was awkward to say the least. Chloe wanted to be friends with Luna but Luna was very cold with her. Regardless, Chloe tried to be friendly with Luna until it was obvious that it would not be reciprocated.

Here are some screenshots of conversation snippets between Chloe and Luna. While not directly rude, you can see the passive-aggressiveness present. (sorry for the weird format. Blame Chloe, dsibfsf)

(in case you can’t read it: “you really have a lot of love to show right? lol”)

(Chloe only sent 3 pictures and Luna asked her not to “spam”, despite sending MULTIPLE messages at a time in the past herself)

Until then, the admins had decided to simply keep an eye on the situation to avoid drama, as while it seemed passive-aggressive, there was no proof of her intentions, and Chloe agreed. However, this all changed when Chloe received an anon message.

I could go into a deep analysis as to how we concluded that this message was from Luna - typing habits, mostly (notice the over-excessive use of commas and run-on sentences) - but the biggest proof is possibly this message she sent before leaving the network chat, suspiciously around the same time the ask was sent.

Now I’m no detective, but these are the things Luna and this “anon” have in common: 1) the excessive comma use and run on sentences 2) calling Chloe an attention-seeker 3) the ask also parallels Luna’s earlier behaviour about her self-given superiority about being an ARMY for 4 years (”everyone saw the things you keep droping aren’t like everyone is new to the fandom”) - as opposed to Chloe’s 2 months and 4) commenting on Chloe’s eagerness and cheery attitude.

After Luna left - of her own volition and out of annoyance towards Chloe - us network admins felt the need to inform the other members on the situation because of the ask. Following this, many members soft blocked/unfollowed Luna because of this.

Luna noticed this really quickly and immediately dm’d almost every. single. member. that unfollowed her. Here are just two for length’s sake, but many members received similar messages.

This, of course, sparked a minor panic within the network. It’s like Luna was waiting for the fallout to happen, keeping an eye on her mutual status with the members of the network.

And so, as a mod of the network - and to spare Phi the drama considering her own issues - I decided to confront her on behalf of everyone. (As you can see, I’m doing the same thing now, lol.) I’ll include the most interesting parts of my own conversation with Luna. I’m known for being aggressive-aggressive when it comes to defending and protecting my friends, and it shows here. (The contact name is “(Unknown)” because Luna blocked me at the end of this conversation and eventually deleted this kkt id)

Following my conversation with her - which, as you can see, has NO MENTION of Chloe - Chloe receives messages from Luna. NO ONE has told Luna that Chloe was the one who received hate mail, or that Chloe was the one who felt harassed by her.

It’s with these messages that, in my point of view, Luna traps herself. She proves that she sent the ask and that she was PURPOSEFULLY being passive aggressive to Chloe. With that, she was officially banned from the network, and many members of the network blocked her as a precaution to avoid being harassed by her for “answers”.

It should be said that NONE of the members sent hate to, or bullied Luna. The closest thing that could be considered hate were MY messages confronting her and calling her out. She’s claiming we were bullying her but really we just unfollowed her. That’s the worst any other member had done.

Chloe was also in another network with Luna, and so Phi decided to contact the admin of this network simply to warn her that trouble might surface between those two and offered a few screenshots as context. (Chloe later left the other network because she couldn’t handle seeing Luna acting all friendly with others in there, in fear that she would use them to turn on her.)

With that, we thought that the situation was finished.

However, it wasn’t.

Luna continued to send messages to Phi overtime even AFTER she was kicked from the network. This is where my earlier passage about her weird “friendship” with Phi comes in.

Luna persistently tried to form a friendship with Phi despite Phi not really engaging with her. Phi, who was already going through personal issues at the time, did not wish to confront Luna and deal with her drama, and instead tried to slowly separate herself from her. When Luna came to her about having a panic attack, all Phi told her was to “breathe”. Not long after, Phi received these “anonymous” messages (note, once again, the comma usage).

Small occurrences continued like this, and Phi continued to ignore or give very little response to them.

However, Phi changed her mind about her separation technique when Luna sent a vaguely aggressive message about Phi’s friendship choices - essentially, shading the fact that Phi was still friends with Chloe.

I can’t find a screenshot of Phi’s response, but it went along the sentiment of “I’m friends with who I want, and if you can’t handle that, that’s your problem.” It was very dry and to the point, but in no way aggressive. She made her point: she wanted Luna to leave her alone.

With that, Phi thought the situation would be over. However, Luna still tagged her in posts, sent her loving messages that Phi didn’t particularly respond to, and overall stalked her, essentially.

The last straw was when Phi received an anon about not replying to mutuals. Due to, once again, typing habits (and her overall obsession with Phi replying to her), Phi guessed it might be Luna.

And so, after answering it, Phi decided to block that anon.

Not so surprisingly, Phi was right. It is around that time that Luna remade her blog, with the excuse that it was bugging out.

Not too long after, she sent this to Phi:

It should be noted that “some things I saw” were, in fact, Phi interacting with Chloe on her blog and tagging her in posts. It should also be noted that Luna is thanking Phi for essentially just, telling her to breathe and calm down. That’s it.

After that (which happened in November 2018), Luna did not do much, nor did she directly engage with Phi. Luna started going by Winter (and many other names). With that, we thought it was over. She moved blogs and was leaving us alone. She needed a fresh start, and we could respect that.

Of course, the admins - especially me - kept an eye on her to make sure she wouldn’t start drama or confront Chloe again (who was, and still is, emotionally distraught from Luna’s behaviour), but everything was fine. comfyhobi went through many changes and eventually became fluffyjhs, and she eventually took the name Alice. We still knew she was Luna, but nothing dramatic had happened.

We did NOT engage with her. We did NOT send her hate. We did NOT make an expose post despite all she had already done. We let her live on her blog, and I simply kept an eye on her to make sure she wouldn’t name drop us and start drama on Tumblr.

We thought we were finally in the clear, that Luna had moved on and that Phi and Chloe were safe from her harassment.

Until she came back a few weeks ago, in February 2019. She tried tagging Phi in posts again, acting like she didn’t know her and that she was a different person. And not long after, she tried applying to the network again under the name Alice and with her new blog.

One of the admins (Bri) confronted her, reminding her that she was banned from the network, but she completely denied being Luna. However, she still had the same typing habits, and we had made sure to track her well.

Some things to note: 1) tinyjhs is one of Luna’s old URLs and did eventually “deactivate”. 2) Bri never mentioned that she deactivated, simply that she was blocked from the network, yet Luna mentioned it herself. 3) the “5 year hiatus” line is exactly the same as her comments when she originally joined the network, how she had not been active on the internet in over, I think 4 years? (Sadly, I don’t have receipts for that, I didn’t think it would ever be relevant, we’re talking about 4 months ago and I can’t find them, but it is an interesting parallel). 4) she’s awfully compassionate and insightful of the feelings of someone that we accused of causing drama.

Anyways, as you can see, she threw a temper tantrum and blocked the network blog from communicating with her. With that, we hoped it was finally done. She tried to get back in, and she failed. She knew that we knew she was Luna.

But, this brings us to Luna’s open letter on her own blog a few days later.

The original post was made yesterday, WITHOUT our blogs’ URLs in the tags. After deliberating between admins, we decided not to engage and to let her have her drama, as no one was explicitly mentioned (yet), and we desperately wanted it to be over. We figured that maybe she would finally stop after maybe getting some attention from some of her mutuals, or that she would truly leave tumblr for good. (Clearly, we haven’t learned.) We didn’t want to give her the satisfaction of replying to her attack.

So why, you might ask, am I replying to it now?

TWO THINGS.

First. Because of this ask Phi received.

Second. Because she finally mentioned us directly.

Luna finally mentioned us directly, publicly on Tumblr, a place where we never wanted to take this argument. All the aspects of her post PROVE that she is not “Jacqueline” as she claimed a few days ago, but VERY CLEARLY Luna. She did this in hopes of getting other people involved, to hate on us, to ruin Phi’s reputation especially, I assume. Most of all, she did this to get the attention from Phi she so desperately wanted, and the sympathy of others along the way.

We didn’t want to “expose” her. We didn’t want to make this drama bigger than it already is. But she chose to do that herself.

And so that gives me, in my opinion, the justification to finally post this response and expose thread.

This has gone far enough. Luna is manipulative, toxic and downright psychotic. She’s obsessive, with the situation, with the network, and with Phi. She thinks she’s clever enough to move blogs and rename herself in order to sneak back into the network and do god knows what. And when we don’t give her what she wants, she brings up her many private mental illnesses, blaming us for her tw// suicidal thoughts and self harm, when we have done NOTHING but try to end this situation since November 2018. It’s February 2019, and she keeps coming back.

I have a theory that Luna desperately needs attention, which is why she kisses up to so many “big blogs” in order to try and befriend them and become a big blog herself. Many of her posts, as well as her attitude towards Phi - and towards Phi ONLY (the “biggest” blog of the network) out of all of the members of the network - seem to hint towards that. Her obsession with being rejected from the network and her neediness for every single of her messages to be acknowledged also indicate this.

REGARDLESS, while this is a post to inform the general public of the fandom (and to hopefully clear our names from her drama), it is also a callout post to Luna SPECIFICALLY.

Leave Phi alone. Leave ‘Chloe’ alone. Leave ALL OF US alone. We’re no longer tolerating your bat-shit crazy attempt at getting attention from us. We’re done.

EDIT: since Phi wrote her quick response while I was writing out this post - which you can find here - she has received many messages from people who have undergone similar treatment from Luna. Here’s a screenshot we’ve been permitted to use:

Our network is not alone. I now realize that maybe my fear of bringing this onto Tumblr has brought pain and drama to OTHER people that Luna has tried to “befriend” and eventually cause drama with. I’m sorry. I hope that you all can find relief in this thread, to know that you guys aren’t alone, too.

im gonna pull the constructive part out of the complaining so if all ur looking for is that, here:

- I’d like there to be more work done to keep people on-topic in the channels - Should really be separate channels for BCB-specific art and general art - Having a channel or a set of channels that’re for Adults to talk about the comic would be great (obviously no nsfw talk, but more mature themes are able to be discussed like mental illness, sexual harassment / assault, abuse, etc)

i finally left the bcb discord today because Jesus Christ there is literally NO channel where people don’t spam shit i dont care about

started out following Every BCB-related channel, that turned out to be way too cluttered so i muted everything but the two bcb discussions channels, the bulletin channel, and the art channel

but people FREQUENTLY go off-topic in the bcb discussion channels. and also are like, weirdly inflammatory about what they say? honestly it just seems like a lot of people in the discord are Really Young, which is fine, but i wish there was a channel for like. adults to discuss the comic. because i get young people having an interest in it and im All For That, but it often led to a lot of really immature shit happening? and maybe the perpetrators of that weren’t young, maybe they were just immature

but like there’d regularly be shit posted in the discussion chat (for theories! and opinions! about the comic! which sounds great! until u go into it!) that was like.... “i’d love to just punch lucy” “mike can die in a fire” “david is the worst” etc. like .. i like, hearing people’s opinions, but, jesus? can we not like. talk about our opinions on different characters without resorting to That

plus people went off topic ssssooooo frequently, you’d start off in one channel talking about mike/lucy and all their problems and then it’d somehow switch to one person telling everyone else they were idiots for not seeing that lucy is garbage and THEN it’d switch to some random topic.

even in The Place For Art people went off topic a LOT (one time i contributed to the conversation and that was the only time i saw anyone get called out for posting in the wrong channel, ironically, dkjgnfkjgndf MY BAD THO FOR ENCOURAGING IT)

not to mention people spam the “show me old art” command in the art room and like..... Blease. please go do that in the room that’s Specifically For Bot Commands

also i’d really like to see an art room for General Art and a room for BCB-specific art. im only there for the bcb art. specifically for the NEW bcb art.

i guess my biggest frustration with it was just how often it Wasn’t about bcb, even tho bcb was all i was there for? idk it wouldve been nice to have discussions with people, but the few discussions i got involved in got WAY out of hand really quickly (with people zooming off topic or guilt-tripping others or saying characters should die). better organization of channels would also be nice. idk.

back to semi-constructive:

if i made my own bcb discord server (which i wont, because that’d be rude to the creators who put a bunch of time / effort into making this one), here’s how i’d do it:

Area for general topics, not related to BCB. - General (where Whatever can be talked about) - General Art - Bot room (bot commands used) - Meme room - Music room (song recs, playlists, maybe videos) - Maybe a room for discussing / recommending other comics. - Maybe a room /specifically/ for venting in bc people seem to like doing that

Area for BCB specific topics. - General BCB (just talking about Whatever in relation to the comic, can even be shitposts/memes as long as they’re on-topic) - Page Update Room (nobody BUT the page updater can talk, that way people can have alerts to this on w/o getting clutter) - Discussion room (talking about the characters / the story, making sure to include in the rules that saying shit like “x character sucks” and “x character should die / get beat up” is not cool, as well as rules abt Being Nice To Vero) - BCB art room where candybooru posts are shared (as they’re uploaded) and people can share their bcb-specific art

Area for Real Adults (over 18 at least, maybe even pushing it to 21 & over) - General - BCB-specific discussion (can just talk about bcb in a place where There Aren’t Kids) - BCB-specific Extra Adult Discussion (talk specifically about mature topics like mental illness/etc)

and then i’d have mods that like regularly pushed people into the right channels or encourage everyone to keep each other in check.

idk i think that’s it...... if i think of anything else to add i’ll do that,,, later

i might like. ask oliver if i can make an adults-only BCB channel (specifically banning nsfw art/talk tho) that’s more for like... discussion and such that is More Mature. maybe. idk. i’m gonna have time once im Out Of College

Oh it’s no trouble at all reallyalthough I would HARDLY consider myself as “””popular””” hhhhiknowlike8peopleI did something like this once before on one of my ask blogs but I’m just gonna trim it up and rewrite it.+*~ Below The Cut For Shitty Jazzy Advice ~*+Be warned it is long and wordy.This is my own personal blog process/blog beliefs.Don’t take all of these to heart fully because there are many ways to do/interpret things. I am simply sharing how i personally do things.If anyone feels the need to add more onto this, feel free to.

First lets get The Blog Theme down.Believe it or not this is actually important and can affect you and your blog a lot more than you think.-> THIS ACCOUNT IS WHERE I GET ALL OF MY THEMES -<Please note there are other blogs like this one, I just use that one specifically.You can also use the default theme that tumblr gives you, there are ways to edit it but I do not know how to edit it you would have to ask someone else.Simple Theme Color rules that I use:- Do not add bright neon colors with black. I love black n neon as much as the next guy but it makes your theme eye burning.- Blog colors can determine a blogs theme as well. A bright colored theme suggests a happy upbeat blog. But this only applies if you care for that sort of thing.- Make the text easy to read. Please even your links in the sidebar make them a color that is different enough from the other colors on your blog so you can actually read them. Use a easy to read font as well.What I always make sure to add in a theme:- Ask Box. Obvious thing to add, never feel ashamed or hesitant to close your ask box if needed. Whether it be due to plot reasons or you have asks piling up. Feel free to close it for the time you need and open it up again when desired.- Submissions Box. Not REALLY needed, I just always add it for ease of access. You can get to someone’s submit box just by adding /submit to the end of their url but I prefer to have a tab for it.- Character page or reference tag. Seriously add a reference page or a reference tag that is easy to find. It’s kind of a turnoff if you don’t have a easy to access reference. Don’t be upset if you feel your reference isn’t good enough. As long as you have a color palette to it you will be golden. Never shade a reference without a normal color palette we are all begging you. If you draw art traditionally, you can always add a color palette in with MSpaint nobody will judge you for that.- Rules Page. Now this isn’t 100% needed. I just add them to avoid getting spammed with questions or like… nsfw questions or something. If you don’t care about that then don’t worry ‘bout it.These are the main things I add to a blog. I also add these things because I’m extra:- Lore/Plot page. This usually contains links n tags to follow all of my plot posts or specific lore posts.- Ask Hints page. This is a HUGE help to people who are shy like me!! I usually can’t think of good asks to send so Ask Hint pages are such a help. I always try to add them whenever I can! Also they can help people ask more plot relevant questions when needed.Other Important things to add to a theme of a blog:- Add warnings. If your blog isn’t going to be happy go lucky, please consider adding a warning somewhere. Whether it be in the blogs description or your rules page. You don’t HAVE to add a warning, but its best if you do. - Add a tagging system if needed. No again, don’t have to do this. Some don’t tag things at all which is fine! I prefer to have tags and tag everything so I don’t accidentally trigger someone or just have peeps upset at me in general. I always have trigger tags, sensitive content tags and OOC tags. I go overboard with my tagging, I am aware of this, but I would rather be safe than sorry.Lets talk about Blog Playlists:- It is perfectly fine to have a blog playlist. Most complain about blog playlists but that is generally only if AutoPlay is on. I’m neutral on blog playlists just as long as the autoplay is off I am good lol. AutoPlay tends to give me a spook. It’s a highly debated thing in the community, but from what i’ve seen people just don’t like AutoPlay lol-> IF YOU ARE GOING TO USE A STOCK PHOTO FOR YOUR BACKGROUND, TRY USING THIS METHOD FOR FAIR USE <-I know most don’t honestly care about fair use of stock photos like this, but try to be fair <3+*~ Onto the character’s themselves ~*+What do you choose as your main pokecharacter?Literally whatever you want. I know some try to challenge themselves by choosing a pokemon they dislike/is hard to draw as their main character, but please note there is a difference between challenging yourself and doing something that you dislike to impress others.Choose whatever you want. Whether it be a popular pokemon or not, as long as you enjoy it, go for it.Need Help designing the character themselves or their personality?Enjoy some links that I’ve used in the past when i was in a bind.- Master Post of Character Design/Story- Character Flaw List- Color Scheme website - A big thing containing stuff for character design - Here is a Palette Blog that I follow that I use for color palettes when I come up blank!- Need help portraying better speech bubbles for characters? here is some examples of some fun things you can do with them!- Are you a mainly text based blog or just want to word some of your things better? Lets discuss blogs that contain sensitive subjects:- Do research on sensitive subjects. I know you are doing blogs for fun! Why would you want to research something that sounds boring right? Yeah it can be boring. But DON’T TRY TO PORTRAY SOMETHING YOU LITERALLY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT. Because then that’s just being ignorant or offensive. If you want a blog starring a depressed character? Please at least just do some research on depression so you aren’t just doing one big stereotype splattered everywhere.- I know doing research sounds boring but there is a line that you have to do research on before portraying it unless you just straight up want to be offensive or ignorant. In which case if you would want to be offensive… why? just why? idk shoo bEGONE.- Doing research on the subjects you are portraying can actually teach you things and help you better your characters and plot. Believe it or not… studying something you don’t know that much about will…. help you LEARN??? wow shocking I know. I know I sound sarcastic and rather salty with this, but it happens more than you think.- Portraying a subject you know nothing about just requires some research. It’s honestly not that hard. You don’t always have to portray sensitive subjects 100% by the book. You can add your own twists or portray them differently if you wish! But there is a line between adding a twist and just being ignorant and offensive.+*~ Ask Time ~*+Alright, you got your blog all set up! You are ready to go! Now you need to get out there, get known! Get ASKS.How to go about it?- Get your blog signal boosted. The PokeAsk community loves signal boosting one another! A signal boost can go a long way to someone who is just starting out. If you don’t have a friend already in the community that can signal boost you, try asking a mod for a signal boost! Most mod’s love to signal boost others, go to one of them and ask for one POLITELY.- Make a Ask Call. One of the big ways to get asks is to simply make a ask call. Just make a post saying “Hey I need asks” or something.- Go onto other’s ask calls asking for one. Lots of Mod’s do Ask Calls in which they SEND OUT asks to others, go onto one of those! Ask for a ask! There is absolutely no shame in doing that.- Interact with others in the community. You can’t expect to get asks if literally no one knows who you are. Send asks to others! Get yourself out there! Make yourself known! If you are like me and have social anxiety or have issues sending asks, look for people’s ask hint pages! Send them a ask from the ask hint page!- Make a Ask Hints page of your own. Sometimes people just don’t know what to send you or are too shy to come up with something themselves. A Ask Hint page can help others send you asks.- There is no shame in asking a friend for a ask. There is literally no shame in asking your friends for asks if you really need them. Even if your friends just send them on anon. There is no shame in it.- Make sure your blog is clean. If your blog is filled with randomness that has nothing to do with your blog or is just random content from you, it will be hard for others to figure out what to ask about. If your askblog looks more like a personal blog, you probably wont get that many asks, its a harsh truth. Also again, having a easy to navigate blog can do wonders.- Make your content appealing. This sounds horribly harsh I know but you can’t expect to have others be instantly filling your inbox if you don’t have some sort of appeal. You can’t have around 4 posts of your character doing nothing interesting and expect others to go “oh I wonder this characters backstory is” or something. Spice it up! Make things interesting! You have to have a hook, make others want to question about your characters or your plot. Make them want to know more! Feel like you don’t know how to make things more appealing? Literally just ask others for advice. Even if the advice is criticism, USE THAT to become better. There is no shame in asking others for advice.- Don’t rely. On. Asks. Only. I understand it is a PokeASK community, but don’t rely on asks fully. Not getting any asks? Time to draw some character shenanigans! Do some plot to lure people in! Make us see your characters outside of asks! It can do wonders for character development and will also help lure others into wanting to learn more about the blog!You do not need a constant stream of asks to run a ask blog.If you just sit and do nothing because you have no asks, then guess what? You still aren’t gonna get asks. Sitting around doing nothing will get you nothing.Getting asks can be hard. For literally all of us it can be hard sometimes.Even that blog you think “omg they are so popular they must get so many asks” struggles because I bet you their inbox is full of nonsense that they can’t actually use.Don’t beat yourself up if you aren’t getting any asks, just keep moving forward with your blog and make the community get hooked on your stuff.+*~ Tips on things you should NOT do~*+- Do not force ships onto others. Most of us in the community love shipping characters, but don’t force it. If the other Mod expresses discomfort with the ship or doesn’t want to ship with you, don’t force it.- Don’t god mod others. Don’t waltz into someone elses inbox going “my character totally PUNCHES YOURS IN THE FACE AHAHA YOUR CHARACTER IS WEAK COMPARED TO MINE.”. Unless you and the mod planned that out beforehand, it is mostly unwanted. Don’t try to randomly attack or take over someone else’s plot. Discuss things like that with the mod, if they don’t want to do that sort of thing? Don’t send it. It’s extremely annoying. Also if you aren’t involved in someone’s plot or ask?? Don’t try to reply or force yourself in it. I’ve had people respond to my plot posts that had literally nothing to do with them. Its annoying and disrespectful. Always discuss things of that nature with the mod beforehand-.If you don’t like someone in the community, block them or ignore them. Do not make a huge deal out of it. It takes zero effort to block someone you dislike and move on. I know some go “Oh I don’t block others UwU” but then they go and constantly start crap with others? Just… If you dislike someone move the hell on with your life and leave them be.- Don’t do call out posts unless there is a clear threat to the community. Oh honey I’m so sorry you dislike someone in the community, but please spare me the time of scrolling past your huge call out post for a person who hurt your feelings a bit. Don’t cause the community unnecessary drama with call out posts for things that aren’t really community issues, this includes vague-ing about others publicly on your blog. Call out posts should only be for community threats or something. Is the person you are going to make a call out post on a pedophile/art scammer/submits porn or body horror to blogs/blatenly sends out hate to others openly/sends fetish asks or something of that nature? Then yes that is a community issue that needs to be addressed. Is the person you are going to make a call out post on someone who just hurt your feelings/you had a fight with about something that is only directed at the two of you or your friend group? Then don’t.A community issue is a issue that addresses the entire community, not just you and your issues with someone else. Move on don’t throw a temper tantrum like a child because someone blocked you or something. Nobody cares if you and someone else don’t get along, its private business so let it remain private.CALL OUT POSTS NEED TO REMAIN RARE AND WITHIN GOOD REASON.- Don’t reply to anon hate. Seriously don’t. Even if you have a witty comeback do you think everyone really needs to see anon hate spamming their dash? no. Ignore anon hate and move on. I know sometimes anon hate can hurt you, it can cut you to the core. But please try to ignore it and move on. Always remember that you can turn off anon or block anons. Granted sometimes anon hate can just be a misunderstanding in which case feel free to reply. I’ve had some “anon hate” which was actually just a misunderstanding. There is a difference between clearing up a misunderstanding and fueling anon hate.- Mind your business. If a drama is happening and it has literally nothing to do with you? Mind your business. Too many people try to get involved in drama that doesn’t even involve them and all that does is fuel more crap. Mind. ya. Business. It can save ya from unnecessary drama trust me. You can support others who are victims of drama or something, but don’t just try to insert yourself and make things worse. There is a difference between a supportive friend and a white knight. A white knight attacks without reason, they don’t know the full story nor care to know. Just…. seriously mind ya business.- Did I mention that if you dislike someone you should just block and or ignore them? Seriously. - Criticism is not automatically hate. Too many people take any negative criticism as hate. You can’t honestly expect everyone to only ever have GOOD things to say about your stuff? You aren’t perfect, nobody is perfect. If someone gives you criticism on your art or your writing or character development, listen. Listen to it. Take it in! Become a better artist/writer/blogger. I know sometimes criticism can be hard to take, especially if its something you worked hard on or something you care about deeply. But please know that criticism isn’t always hate. You never even have to accept criticism, granted its better if you try to learn from criticism, but you don’t have to accept all of it. It’s really up to you on whether or not you accept and listen to the criticism or ignore it. Just don’t automatically take any sort of criticism as “hate”. There is a clear difference.Criticism is to help you improve, hate is just to hurt.- Your mistakes do not define you,how you choose to act after the mistakes is what defines you. Have you done any of these things above? Are you worried about accidentally doing these things? I’m sure all of us in the community have accidentally or even purposefully done one of these things once or twice before. But the difference is, we realized what we were doing was wrong. We changed for the better. If you make a mistake, change for the better! Changing for the better can be hard sometimes, especially if you didn’t realize you were doing something wrong. But what it is important that you can get better, you can redeem your mistakes. A apology wont just fix a mistake, the best apology is changed behavior. You can’t just apologize for sending someone hate and then continue to send hate. (Even though it was blatantly obvious). The antis’ month, vld-wlw-month, does not even follow their own rules & had a Broganes prompt at one point.

Starryklance (creator of the Shipper Block List) later made excuses for her saying stuff like “She didn’t know, she doesn’t ship it now” & had the audacity to tag it as “Don’t rush to conclusions & accuse people right away without any proof” even though she, quiznah & klanced had all made false claims about the shaladin mod of voltronwlwmonth. Vorgtron fakes a hoax where one of their members is arrested by the cops after Karen called the cops, then makes excuses for the hoax, lies about Karen being inactive & repeatedly slanders her online. Lancestan/Klanti, Lynn, steals $1400 from a McHanzo (Overwatch) charity zine to buy Lance badges & fanmerch for her SECOND Lance-themed ita-bag. The antis make excuses for them, lying that she’s a minor who was Robin-Hooding a bunch of gross “incest” shippers who allegedly infested the zine (rival shippers were not allowed in the zine because it was a McHanzo-ONLY zine). Update: Lynn fucked people over one last time by sending them poorly made zines with no artist credits & no return address. People are planning on suing her over this. (1)

Vorgtron member brags about forcing the kids she was babysitting to watch Voltron with her & then illegally films them & uploads it online publicly to show the kids talking about how Sheith is “sexual assault” & “Klance is canon & gay” for discourse points. Vorgtron & other antis support her & excuse everything disgusting about it & how she fed the kids lines & misconceptions about sexual assault & Voltron. Anti troll screeches that their 11 year old sister found klance porn & trans Lance stuff on tumblr. This “traumatized” her, ESPECIALLY the trans Lance stuff, & the anti blames the shaladins for this for some reason, hurling death threats everywhere. (1, 2)

Antis make up lies & claim that Minty, from the Shalanonymous wank, was the one who started calling Shiro’s brains “scrambled eggs”. What really happened was that she was QUOTING ANTIS who called him that (one of their many attacks to demonize Shiro in order to make Shaladin ships abusive). They also claim that they DID report a rapists’ blog after they were traumatized by a rape video of an underaged girl, from a “report this rapist” post that Minty linked them, which would have been impossible because you can’t actually watch the video without PMing the rape blog for the video file first. Anti tries to remain a pure defender against sheith & shaladin but openly goes gaga for Devilman Crybaby, a series that should have made their heads explode considering the “problematic content” in it. They even try to bar shaladins from the fandom, claiming that the “antis” were there first despite being a 17 year old & the original Devilman manga being made in the 70s. They also attempt to shame & scold the Devilman fandom before getting blasted by both antis & shaladins for being such a hypocrite. Eventually they shut their inbox & went on hiatus.

Put together with misc. anti bullshit like keith-against-sheith claiming that ace headcanons of the paladins is sexualization of minors & sourwolf-wot screeching about “nasty shaladins” sexualizing minors while openly saying that people only ship shaladin because they’re “sick fucks who’ve only been in abusive adult x minor relationships & think that that’s the norm”. They also seem to be okay with Wincest (Supernatural) but think that sheith is incest & used Klance porn as their blog header at one point despite Lance being a minor. (1)

Vldflops, a hate group full of antis, starts reposting people’s art (heith, shaladin, langst) to mock & deride on Instagram, often calling the artist a pedophile & an abuser. They even went so far as to post uncensored photos of REAL SUICIDAL/DEPRESSED PEOPLE slitting their wrists & then had the nerve to “educate them” (in a condescending & insultingly uncaring manner) not to “romanticize self-harm”. They even accused one of the people in the photos of being langstdreams* (which it WASN’T & langstdreams SAW that).

They keep getting reported to instagram, having their accounts deleted & then remaking a new account to continue harassing people (you cannot get them to take down your art because they will insult you if you DM them & make up a fake abuse backstory to get you to feel bad about “harassing” them).

They even went so far as to encourage their followers to cyberstalk & send death threats to people & when one victim said that they were going to commit suicide, vldflops immediately posted cropped (in a biased way) screencaps of the DMs on their instagram & cried to their followers about how their victim was giving them anxiety by trying to commit suicide over a ship. (Which is 100% a lie & vldflops has gone back to harassing those same people AGAIN).

Barlee is harassed by antis because she drew art of Shiro & Keith & called them bros. The antis attempted to throw the shaladins under the bus until Barlee clarified that it was the hundreds of Broganes comments from antis that caused her to lock the post’s comments. (1)

Kihyun Ryu also gets spammed by the antis on all the blatantly romantic Sheith art he drew on his instagram. He also received hate on his memorial art, for a friend & Studio Mir coworker who passed away in a car accident, from antis who claimed that the art was fatphobic & disgusting because Hunk was drawn serving food. Klantis illegally record Jeremy Shada accidentally breaking his NDA at an autograph signing (he spoiled some stuff about future seasons) & upload footage of it online, titling it as “Jeremy confirms canon Klance!”. It is literally nothing like that & now Jeremy is in legal trouble. Antis ignore this (other than the few who deleted the footage & posts of it) & celebrate Jeremy “escaping Lauren’s basement to confirm that Klance is canon”. They openly tweet at Lauren that Jeremy hates her & is “Klance cannon king”. (1, 2, 3, 4, 5)

Antis bring up an old post about Josh from a whole year ago & start making fake accounts of him on twitter claiming that he is a pedophile & sending him & his family death threats. They harass him NONSTOP for 2 whole days & continue this even when he reports their accounts. Josh ends up caving to the antis & they openly celebrate his surrender, make fake apologies or excuses (”they’re just meme vines, not REAL death threats!”) for their behavior & continue to send him MORE death threats.

This leads to a tremendous amount of antis either doubling down on their “right” to send Josh & his family death threats or claiming that they had no idea that any of this was happening despite openly supporting their friends (who were sending the threats) & constantly shittalking the cast & defending people sending them threats for over a whole DAMN YEAR. (Check the Bex knife threats to see examples of that.)

Update: A sheith shipper made an anti block list after this blew up only for antis to attack & stalk her by claiming that being on the list opened them up to attacks & gave them anxiety. They apparently completely forgot about the MULTIPLE inaccurate lists that they made about shaladins & that HAVE been used to attack shaladins in the past. Some antis also threw a fit because they weren’t “antis” anymore & were outraged that they were on the list (real ex-antis were only mildly annoyed). Anti accuses Lauren of “queerbaiting” the fandom with Klance & says that she should drive her “Klance-fueled car” off a cliff & calls her a cunt. (1)

Another anti whines about Lauren talking with a Sheith shipper at a convention & threatens to scream “Broganes” at her to ruin the conversation while accusing them of being incest-loving pedophiles (that last part is implied). (1)

Joaquim talks about ships being like “forbidden fruit” & Klantis immediately take his quote out of context to make it sound like he was homophobic & attacked him until he apologized & clarified his statement, something that he shouldn’t have had to do. (1)

Insane klanti tricks their klanti friend into stealing a Sheith fan-edit (telling them that it was from the show) & letting the friend photoshop it into a Klance edit. After the klanti was accused of art theft, their friend ditched them & threw them to the shaladins because who would believe that someone would be so douchey as to trick their friend like that? (1)

Klantis harass Jeremy Shada on instagram for saying that “Keith & Lance have a brotherly relationship” in an interview. (1)

Anti harasses 2 adult Sheith cosplayers over their lap dance at an 18+ con & claims that they’re harassing the Shiro cosplayer because “they hate black people”. (1)

Kihyun Ryu’s art gets attacked by antis for being too “Sheith-y”. (1)

An anti by the name of bluepaladinstan harasses an underaged VLD cosplayer on twitter for being a shaladin. The harassment has been going on for MONTHS. (1)

Antis literally defend their racist caricature fanart by saying that the canon skin colors are “too boring” & that anyone who criticizes them is a racist. (1)

Anti admits that they will not confront people in real life over problematic choices (like buying 50 Shades of Grey) but that’s it’s “safer” for them to attack people online, despite this having less impact than doing it irl (because they really don’t care that much about their own cause - they’re a coward). Anti makes up bullshit story about how fanfiction led her “sweet” friend sexually assault children and pet dogs & how fanfiction is worse than “doing lines of crack cocaine”. (You can’t even do lines of crack cocaine! It’s physically impossible!) (1)

Antis attack black comic artist for “drawing the VLD comic cover too ugly”. They even celebrate when the cover is pulled (not due to harassment but due to other circumstances). (1)

Sinningpaladin, aka sinpal, abuses antis & uses them to slam Shaladins & gain popularity with a flimsy lie that they were a Dreamworks intern, (claiming that Sheith was disgusting & that Dreamworks intended Klance to be endgame). This isn’t found out (by the antis anyway) until sinpal goes too far with the power the antis gave them. Later, they “apologize” by blaming it on their meds & mental illness. (1, 2)

Antis accuse POC Lance cosplayers in Shamus’ “Lance is Bi” article of brownfacing despite literally being presented a photo of the cosplayers’ faces. They suddenly retreat after the cosplayers themselves refute them on twitter. Meanwhile, an anti doubles down on it & claims that Shaladins using this incident as proof that antis are racist are even MORE racist & that it’s okay for antis to accuse POC of brownfacing so long as they get “educated” about it. They also rant that lightskin POC shouldn’t care about being accused of brownfacing because they will never suffer as much as darkskin POC. (1, 2)

Klantis draw fanart of Jeremy x Steven for Klance & secretly recorded their white classmates, (claiming that they’re Klance whitesonas because they’re wearing red & blue shirts), while accusing Shaladins of doing the same thing for Sheith.
