It's a change in routine, Husk thinks as he looks in the mirror. It's not like Alastor should really care about it anyway. He was still wearing the stupid hat with its golden token.

Besides, literally everyone in this hotel was wearing a bowtie, and the fact of it was slowly annoying Husk to want to change up his outfit even slightly. It also made him think that no one in this place even knew how to tie a tie in the first place.

He starts to tighten the knot over his fur until he hears the sound behind him. Like a cloud of mosquitoes has just invaded his room.

"What? It's not like I'm late for work!" he growls.

Red eyes appear over his shoulder, gazing at him from the mirror, along with that smile he could never forget, even in his dreams. They hover there before the shadow they're in solidifies. There was never a time when Alastor didn't invade his space, and he wasn't about to stop now. An arm reaches around, holding the end of the tie between red-tipped fingers.

"Husker, are you trying to be stylish now?" he asks mockingly. "Wearing a tie without a shirt breaks many fashion rules."

Husk's fingers are still over the tie knot, and he feels them tighten it slightly more, as if in compulsion. "I can't know if you're going to just flip out on me because I decided to wear a shirt one day."

"Interesting! And yet you haven't given a thought that you wearing a tie would displease me!"

Husk freezes. Maybe he had gotten this all wrong. Of course Alastor would somehow be offended, even if Husk wanted to just look a little different for once. His throat closes when he sees Alastor wind the tail end of his tie around a knuckle.

Then there is a pull. Softly. It's different. Husk can't admit to himself how it makes him feel.

Alastor tugs him to the side so that he's facing him instead of through the mirror. Another pull, and Husk finds himself on his toes, moving closer to Alastor.

It's different from the chain, even as he still feels the unseen weight of it. The tie keeps tightening, but it makes his face feel hot.

"You're lucky that it doesn't," Alastor tells him. There's a mix of excitement and hunger in his eyes. The demon palms the underside of the tie, then grasps it softly in a fist. The soft material of the silk breathes a soft rush against skin. "Such a good choice you made. You even picked red to match with me."

He hadn't even thought about that. Yet, the color of the tie matched in shade with Alastor's coat.

"I...I didn't make this choice for you," Husk protests to his boss. To himself. But he doesn't turn away as Alastor slowly closes the gap between them.

"Oh Husker," Alastor mocks once more before he takes away Husk's breath. "Everything you do is for me."

-Martin says that in 1982, Kevin is alive and well, and is "probably still working for Bunny Smiles Incorporated."

-Someone asks if Brian would be a "film bro", and Martin says that Brian would be the kind of person to enjoy recording stuff to make personal films, comparing it to the way some kids will like to film a bunch of random shit and put it together as a "movie." He says, "I think Brian would be very into films, and trying to do his own stuff. I don't think he would have gotten too artistic with it, I think he would just fuck with common or mainstream movies at the time. But he would still love going to the theatre, probably. WIP Wednesday (9/4) | Guardian Angel Neil AU (Part 230)

"For your pocket." Andrew says, jabbing a finger towards the bottom of Neil's hoodie. The angel's eyes flick down before settling back on Andrew's. There's a strange look on Neil's face, but Andrew just shrugs at it. "I wouldn't want you to start dropping your treats again."

"My treats?" Neil asks, amused. Andrew nods then makes a show of patting each pocket of his cargo pants before finally settling on one. (It's theatrical. He knows what he's looking for.) He pulls out a candy bar and slides it over to Neil conspiratorially. The angel picks it up and gives it a look. "What's this?"

How predictable, acting like he can't read.

"Peanuts and caramel," Andrew drawls. "No chocolate at all. Figured you might like it."

"Thanks." Neil says, looking bewildered and holding his two ridiculously simple gifts in each hand like he isn't sure what to do with either. Andrew would hate to completely overwhelm him, but he's not finished yet.

"How foolish of me," Andrew says, thwacking himself in the forehead. He goes for a different pocket and comes back with the gum and the small bag of chips. After dumping them unceremoniously between them, Andrew pulls the bottle of water over and adds it to his pile of offerings. "These are yours too."

Neil stares down at the pile for a moment before raising his head. "You remembered I liked Doritos?"

'Of course,' Andrew nearly says. Neil told him that ages ago, in passing. He catches himself and shrugs instead. "Everyone likes Doritos."

"Kevin doesn't."

"Kevin doesn't like anything," Andrew says. Neil laughs but continues to stare down at his little mound of items like they're going to disappear. "Eat or sew, angel."

Neil eats.

He starts with the candy bar, eating it slowly. Like he's trying to savor it. That bit of control evaporates when he opens the Doritos. He devours them in about nineteen seconds and downs half the water bottle in two gulps. It almost makes Andrew feel guilty. Knowing he could've been taking care of Neil like this since they met. But Neil's an angel, not a hamster, and he looks nothing but grateful as he dusts his hands off and picks up the chewing gum.

"Strawberry-Kiwi." He reads from the packaging, turning it over in his hands.

"It was the only fruity gum they carried. And I did ask, but they didn't have a gigantic bucket of mangoes and peaches either."

Neil smiles. "I like strawberries. Dunno if I've ever had a kiwi before."

"They're gross. Furry little things. And they're filled with seeds that you have to eat around. Unappealing is an understatement." Andrew says with a grimace. He's polished off his first candy bar and had a few sips of his energy drink. What a shame Kevin isn't here to witness it.

Andrew rips the second Snickers open and takes a small bite. (He's a bit weird in his eating habits, he knows. Fun size candy bars he'll pop into his mouth like they're nothing. Full sized ones take a bite of time.) He stares out at traffic as he works his way down it. Then shoves the wrappers into his pocket.

When Andrew looks back over at Neil, he finds the angel threading a needle. Or attempting to. He looks so stupidly cute, tongue poking out and brow furrowed in concentration. Finally, he has success. Neil flips the bottom of his hoodie up and hunches over to start stitching it back together.

What do you think happened when Shanks, Roger and Rayleigh they realized what the hell that Fruit allowed Buggy to do? There is always the idea that the poor kid got embarrassed and started coming apart causing the whole gang to have to chase floating body parts around lest they float away, which I think is the funniest. However, while not perfect, Opla going with the more body horror element to that kind of power makes me imagine that the first time the power happened it wasn’t exactly fun haha times maybe, it could have been scary. Maybe Shanks had to watch his favorite person get bisected but pop back together then again before someone got them out of the situation. Or like oh, your comforting your son, oh he’s literally falling apart in your hands. Rayleigh or Roger watching Buggy’s head literally roll off. Maybe that’s too dramatic but yknow just kind of spitballing.

Nonono, don't apologize! This is actually such an interesting concept and situation to talk about. Devil Fruits are cool and Buggy's is definitely useful, but let's not forget that his power is, after all, inherently scary and related to body horror.

I'm a fan of angst so I think that while Buggy tries to pretend he's okay with it (the only thing he complains about is not being able to swim and the map etc etc) but it must be damn traumatizing for him to see his body being literally dismembered like that. It's not only scary because he's a kid, but also because, damn, it'd be scary and grotesque for anyone. Roger and Rayleigh I'm sure are used to seeing stuff like this, but nobody is ready to see their kid... Like that. And Shanks? He's also a kid and despite not being guilty of what happened, Buggy does put the blame on him for this, so of course, if you add guilt to seeing your best friend do stuff like this... It is a bit shocking (in a bad way).

I don't think it's easy for anyone to see these things tbh so I'm pretty sure they had to get used to it!!
