the way rosamund pike says siuan’s name in the audiobooks when reading as moiraine makes me insane in the best way possible. she says it with so much care and gentle inflection and i am gnawing on my arm over it. especially since right at siuan’s introduction in the great hunt, moiraine makes a point of noting how no one calls her or thinks of her as siuan sanche anymore, only the amyrlin seat. and then for the rest of their time together moiraine proceeds to say siuan’s name every other sentence like she is trying to remind siuan that she is so much more than the position that threatens to destroy her, that through it all moiraine will always remember her as who she was and is

Ranking Moiraine’s outfits from WoT

(this is my personal opinion)

1. Shoutout to the suspenders on this outfit(I see you horny people). Love the different shades of blue and overall it just looks very comfortable.

2. I love the kinda velvety? fabric it is. Looks so nice to the touch, shoulder pads are top tier and I love the jewelry plus the little headpiece she wears when on trial

3. Baby Moiraine, so happy and filled with joy nothing bad will happen ever😀. But very nice outfit, I think my fav is the sleeves and the color compliments very well. Also top tier hair.

4. Oughhh I want the shirt so bad even though I’d probably never wear it. The details on it are lovely and the puffy to thin sleeve is like a personal favorite of mine. Also love that color of blue for the skirt/dress.

5. Once again shoutout to the top, love the shear sleeves unsure about the bodice cause it looks itchy unless it was like another fabric underneath. Love the overdress, very puffy I like the cut on the sleeves and neckline. The belt is also a nice touch.

Ok. But can we talk about the symbolism?

They're all the white tower characters who are there when it 'breaks'. I'm assuming Nyn and Elayne will actually be there for the action but even if not, there's still lots to theorise about.

Elaida is smack bang in it. She doesn't give a shit. She thinks she's in control. She's evil queening her way through this. Contrasted with Siuan, whose hand is breaking. Shes actually getting hit. She's the only one bodily falling apart. This is the worst for her. She is the tower. She's in a pose of mourning of loss of failure of supplication. But where Elaida is sitting in semi darkness, Siuan is haloed with light.

Elayne. The only other one who has a bodily vibe to the breaking even though the shaft doesnt go theough her. It might just be an unfortunate flesh coloured stone choice, or maybe she gets beaten up a bit here. Some juicy Elaida/Elayne sub plot? I could get behind that. She's got light. She's got the strongest 'coming into her power' vibe.

Shared with Leane (fucking love Leane. Forgotten the books, but like. I've only got fond memories of her. I want her so much to be badass) also only the edges of her are falling apart. Which... stilling? But whatever yeah she does spring back with a very - survive now, process later, vibe.

Nyneave. In the darkness. With the same kind of soft sunset glow as Elaida (!) From the trailer we know shes involved during Liandrin's trial. Is that gonna be ground zero of the break? And then of course she's got Moghedian to look forward to. Her darkfriends like to get up close and personal.

Min. Outside like Leane. Getting out of it. Avoiding the worst of it? And she's cool. She's throwing it off. She gives no shits. These are not her people. (And yet. If they stick to canon. She has a rescue to orchestrate. Another queen.)

And then there's Verin. In absolute darkness. The only one with stones in the foreground, as if she's making them move. Controlling her breaking. An absolute icon.
