"He starts acting more like his mother, and this works well for him. I honestly think Draco takes after Narcissa much more than he takes after Lucius, it just takes him a second to figure that out"
Wait really? What does it mean? Like if Draco doesn't do things in a showy way it will all work put for him/it makes him have a higher chance of succeeding? Or does it mean that he does best if he works behind the shadows type?
"But in Book 6 there's a rupture between Draco and Lucius" Is it because of this that when Lucius called out to Draco during the battle who didn't come until only Narcissa called for him?
"Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle are *quite* committed to keeping Draco Malfoy in one piece" hmm I kinda don't agree with this because they usually let Draco get beat up right? Or maybe I'm remembering incorrectly?
I'm catching up on your metas I really love them so much
~ re. this meta about how Lucius and Narcissa use power ~
Yeah, Draco is not the most... effective character, for most of the series. Generally his plans backfire, or just don't work at all. Taking Neville's Remembrall gets Harry on the quidditch team, luring Harry out for a duel and snitching about Norbert gets *Draco* in trouble... he's not able to get Buckbeak executed or Hagrid fired, the Inquisitorial Squad doesn't really make a difference, even other Slytherins get sick of how often he does impressions of Harry fainting or whatever. The Support Cedric Diggory/Potter Stinks badges... I'll give him that one. But that's also him being unusually subtle/sneaky (trying to stay under the radar because he's scared of Moody.)
I would say that when Draco plays it subtle, sneaky, and patient - things do work out a lot better for him. He starts getting effective in Book 6, and I don't even hate the poisoned mead/cursed necklace plan. I mean *morally* obviously it's not great, but as a tactic it's kinda brilliant. It reminds me of The Great Escape:
"Perhaps we're being too clever. If we stop all the breakouts, it may only convince the goons that we must be tunneling."
If Draco throws out all these showy attempts (that Dumbledore calls "desperate" and "feeble")... well, then Dumbledore is much less likely to suspect that Draco has additionally spent the all year essentially building a tunnel. He's using both his parent's strategies simultaneously: cursed artifacts, poison, imperiusing someone into helping - that's all Lucius. It's in-your-face, and soaks up a lot of attention. BUT - slowly and carefully fixing the Vanishing Cabinet so people can sneak in... that's all Narcissa. And so is the way he's made sure no one is paying attention.
We also see this with his passive resistance in Book 7, not identifying Harry & co. when he has the chance to. That's also a very *Narcissa* move. We even get little moments in Book 7 where he's actively being coached in his mom's don't-attract-attention strategy:
The hilarity mounted; Draco Malfoy looked in terror at his father, who was staring down into his own lap, then caught his mother’s eye. She shook her head almost imperceptibly, then resumed her own deadpan stare at the opposite wall.
~ * ~ * ~ * ~
The moment where Draco doesn't go to his father when Lucius calls for him is a movie-only moment, but it fits. Draco spends Book 6 pulling away from his communities - the Slytherins, the quidditch team, the Death Eaters. He's realized that he doesn't want what they're selling. And pulling away from the Death Eaters *does* include Lucius and Severus (who he doesn't know is a spy.) Instead, Draco seems to spend a lot more time alone, with his mother (I just can't believe Bellatrix was the one giving him occlumency lessons, that is such a Narcissa move) and with Moaning Myrtle.
~ re. this meta about the Malfoys during the first war ~
I mean... Crabbe and Goyle aren't very *good* at keeping Draco in one piece, but they do try, and whenever someone is beating up Draco, Crabbe and Goyle are right next to him fighting someone else. They also get a shout out for being some of the only people Draco actually trusts during Book 6, and they stand guard for him, even when polyjuiced into 11 year old girls.

i tried looking but i couldn't really find a post similar to this so sorry if its already been asked! what do you think about the outlaws as a concept and in general Jason working in a team?? personally i don't necessarily like (or at least haven't so far) anything that takes Jason fully out of Gotham and more so out of being a street level hero in terms of setting
i share the same sentiment. i once talked about it on my old blog and i got so much hate in my inbox because i said that jason shouldn't have any permanent teams and most critically should never be a leader in them.
i also recently talked to some people in dms about how the most ironic and saddest thing is how dick & jason got the opposite of what they probably want and what is the most natural for them... i don't think dick appreciates being tied to one place, and yet for decades (of publishing history) now he can't get out of bludhaven, which is just a step from gotham... and then there's jay, whose dedication to gotham (and his bond with it!) is perhaps one of the most notable traits of his, and yet he operates within that weird status of being banished from gotham by the narrative...
and the thing is, while i definitely would prefer for these dynamics to be reversed, and for jason to finally settle down in gotham, dc could at least articulate the misfortune of it all? of jason being so isolated from what is dearest to his heart. but they don't even recognise it. they make it seem like jay becoming a globetrotter is just who he is predisposed to be.
then there's what i already mentioned; imo jay shouldn't be a leader. especially not after his authoritarian stunt in the utrh. if he's to develop in any direction, he needs to take a step down from his position of power. and honestly, i don't see any reason for which other vigilantes would want to entrust him with such a role? it's a frankly ridiculous notion. he doesn't really have the right skill set for it. come on, he might have learned how to command people as the red hood, but he's not great at inspiring trust, he has attachment issues, he takes everything personally, and he usually works without a safety net.
he also usually does not feel comfortable working under someone. what would work best is for him to partner up with others, but that's it. for anything else, we would have to see tons of actually well-executed and visible in the narrative progress. or at least show us how he's failing on a team (like in countdown.)
#outbox#also putting characters on a team with him is usually like throwing them under the bus#jay takes so much space in his titles (understandable) that anyone else who is a more permanent fixture on there becomes collateral damage

"he'd be the type of guy to.." haikyuu edition ♡
notes: NOT proofread, i wrote rhis at 1:50am just some thoughts, all will be written with timeskip versions of them in mind. fem reader just cause also i chnaged title cuz it sidnt make sense LMAO
warning/s: NONE
genre: fluff
characters: hinata shoyo, kozume kenma, kageyama tobio, miya atsumu
hinata would be the type of guy to let your dates go unplanned (in a good way!!!) ypu guys get to do whatever you'd like, unrestrained. if you wanna go to a goodwill/thrift store and find cool items, he'd happily go with you. he'll also secretly get you some things that you stared at for too long. like those sparkly pink cowboy boots, a music box where instead of a ballerina spinning it's a middle finger, and a bikini that barely covers anything. then after buying those, you'd go in your car, and he'd hide them under the car seat, but the bikini's straps stick out from under the seat, and you go "what the fuck is that??" so he has no choice but to bring out the bag filled with the stuff you looked like you wanted, and surprised you early. do you want to go to an indoor volleyball court? hinata rented one just for the two of you to play. but you never got to play anything, you two are busy running around, playing hide and seek in the surprisingly large building. yes, for other people, things don't always go to plan. but for you two? you make the best out of unplanned surprises.
kenma would be the type of guy to really REALLY appreciate all of your pitiful efforts to pay him back for what he buys you. he loves, LOVES spoiling you, spending his CEO money on you is his love language. even though he acts a little nonchalant about it, he always loves seeing the smile on your face when he bought you something you've wanted for so long. but, you'd feel bad about what he's spending on you, and the effort he puts into working so hard 24/7, and going with you to the mall and buying you everything. so, you decide to repay him in different ways! like baking cookies that took you all day to bake but they taste bitter, but he still eats all of them in one sitting. you made him lots of origami flowers, he'd have it displayed in his room, without a single speck of dust landing on the paper, he knows that you feel guilty about him spending lots on you so you do these things, he keeps telling you that what he's spending on you isn't going to make a dent in his bank account, but you still wouldn't listen. (he secretly freaks out if you do things for him)
kageyama would be the type of guy to learn about anything you're into, and he'd teach you about what he's into in return. if you like a certain singer/band, and you love to quote a line from a song/an inside joke, he's going to be curious about it, and eventually, he'll start quoting it too, (at the start, he usually had trouble deciding whether or not the situation you're in would apply, but he's quoting that lyric/inside joke like he knows that band/singer better than you do.) he taught you volleyball, do you love spiking? he'd set for you, and you'd drive that ball home. do you prefer setting? he's gonna make you attend setter bootcamp, on god he's gonna turn into your coach instead of your boyfriend. you like blocking? he'd make sure he'd get his hits past your blocks, and of course tell you all sorts of positions you put your hands in if you want to change the trajectory of the ball, or completely shut it out. do you like recieving? he'll throw different types of serves your way so you'll learn how to recieve all of them perfectly. or if you'd love serving more, he'd be teaching you how to get service aces and eventually be better at serving than his team (according to him). he may be a pro volleyball player, but that doesn't mean he won't make time for you.
atsumu would be the type of guy to relax and pamper yourselves in his free time. despite his loud and rowdy personality, you and mr japanese barry b benson with a kansai accent, oftentimes go to spas, and get massages, facial treatments, all that good stuff. then he'd take you out to a hot spring after a major tournament is over, the steaming water helping to relax, and also give his skin some benefits too! after all, he's a volleyball player that has the looks of an idol, he has a face and body he has to maintain. if you guys don't want to go out, he'll look up recipes for diy mud masks to apply to eachothers faces, maybe even bringing out a stash of facemasks from his skincare mini frige and watch a movie together while waiting for the facemask to dry out. you're pretty lucky to have a skincare boyfriend, since you have never had a single skin problem ever since you started dating him. if there's an event you two will be attending, he'll prioritize the both of you looking and feeling fresh. you two would be the couple with the clearest skin in the room.

Another tig characters kids hc post
again, nash has two daughters
jameson has two boys and a girl
grayson has one girl
and xander has a boy and girl
ive decided im gonna give them names so it doesn’t get confusing, so just bare with me here 😭😔
- jamesons eldest sons name is lucas, and he’s the most similar to avery
- averys middle child’s (the other son) name is michael (yes I stole it from the naturals shut up 😔) and he’s the most similar to jameson
-averys daughters name is hannah, and is a good mix of both her parents but still more similar to jameson
- graysons daughters’ name is calla and she’s a good mix of both her parents
- nash’s daughters are twins but are also two completely different people. the eldest one, (by like a minute) kylie, is more similar to nash, meanwhile mara is more like libby
- and last but not least, xanders eldest sons’ name is xavier, (something similar to xander LOL) and he’s very similiar to his mom, meanwhile his younger sister, whose name is nia, is more like her dad
- nia is 11 while xavier, calla, lucas, michael, and hannah are all 16-17-18-19 but they still make sure to include her!
- callas extremely close with averys children, but fights with michael ALL. THE. TIME.
- lucas is the most mature and makes sure the rest of them don’t get in trouble
- kylie and mara are both older than the rest of them but still always manage to be involved in their drama (partially for advice and so they don’t do something stupid)
- michael is the most wild person on april fools and literally goes CRAZY with his pranks
- in fact, every april fools teams are set up
- on one team there’s hannah, lucas, (who eventually agreed to set up teams) michael, kylie, and nia
- on the other team is calla, mara, and nia, whose their spy. she pretends that she’s on the other team, while giving her team information on their pranks
- parents eventually end up getting involved every year as the pranks get more and more diabolical
- all the kids have a sport that they enjoy doing, apart from xavier and calla, who really don’t like them. xaviers fine with playing a small match of soccer or football with his cousins sometimes if they force him, but calla will under no circumstances play anything involving a ball. she does do track though, and is a very fast runner (yes ik tracks a sport but pretend it’s not for like 2 mins pls 😔)
- there is always drama when they get together and do a big family dinner, and it’s usually michael or kylie starting the drama 💀
- hannah and calla both don’t have sisters but they see each other as their sisters and are practically inseparable 💗
- everybody favourites nia because she’s the youngest and she’s usually the one putting the star up on the christmas tree 😭😭 (but everyone loves her so it’s okay )
- calla is an academic weapon and is on the debate team
-michael and calla are often beefing and whenever they do, avery ALWAYS takes callas side and tells michael, “you’re older, you should know better” (he’s older by like 11 months 💀)
- lucas is the best chess player in the family next to avery and they regularly spend hours on a single match
- although calla takes more after her mother, one thing her and grayson have in common is their love for fashion. they both love making a good impression on people and often go on long shopping trips while callas mother (lyra 🤭) stays home because although she loves shopping, there is no way she could shop for as long as they do
- hannah loves drawing and has taken many different art classes before. she’s extremely talented now and loves sketching things/people around the house. it happens so much that it’s now just become normal to look up and see her drawing you 😭💀
- but she never really keeps her drawings and always wants to throw them out, but every time she tries to jameson takes the sketch from her and put it with his other folder of her art 💗
- hannah regularly takes her brothers’ sweatshirts and sweaters and whenever they see clothing missing from their closet they immediately know she took them 💀
- nia always loves having sleepovers with calla and hannah because then they can talk about anything and everything with each other (and binge watch movies till 4 am)
- they have a curse jar and jameson and michael are usually the ones putting most of the money in it
- lucas pretends to be so mature but in reality he’s an og gossip girl and often asks hannah and calla if they heard anything about anyone 💀 (the three of them stay up talking about people in their classes for HOURS)
OKAY THATS ALL SORRY IF THE NAMES WERE CONFUSING 💗💗

Opinions on tweeks Hobbies?
I hope you feel better bestie 🥺💖
(Sorry for the late reply, got caught up with work! Also ty babes! 🖤🖤🖤)
Anyways, I’m gonna be using this ask as an excuse to do an analysis of his room, as I feel like it says a lot about his character and the things he likes!
From this photo alone, it’s pretty evident that Tweek is a bit of a “jack of all trades”. He’s a kid with a very active mind, so it makes sense that this would present itself through his hobbies.
For example, there are quite a few items that point to Tweek being very dexterous and crafty. Model planes, legos, kinetic building toys, all suggest that he enjoys building and working with his hands, a good example of Tweek being a generally more right brained person. These types of toys can also be good for building up one’s mindset and keeping the brain busy, and are usually good for helping out with anxiety, so he could also enjoy these things for that reason.
The darts and the books are good examples of this too. Books are good for exercising the brain, while darts require focus and skill. We know from sot? (correct me if I’m wrong, my memory is fuzzy) that Tweek is (or at least implied to be) in the book club, another example of his interest in reading. Also, a lot of his go to weapons we see him with throughout the series seem to require some level of aim (a bow and arrow, a slingshot, etc), a skill I like to think he acquired through practicing darts.
Some of these might’ve also been gifts from his parents, hoping to help improve his focus.
We got some sporty stuff too-
A basketball hoop, what looks to be a kickball, and a football + football helmet. Asides from throwing around a football with the other boys at recess sometimes, and being on the baseball team (which all the boys hated), Tweek doesn’t strike me as the “sporty type”, and considering the balls seem to be tucked away in what looks to be a bin? and the helmet is tucked away under his desk, it’s hard to say how much he really uses them. These COULD be random hobbies he tried to take up to keep himself busy, or maybe he just has a secret sporty side we’ve never known about. The basketball hoop is probably just for fun though, and I can see him holding on to both the kickball and the football to play with his friends at recess!
There are a couple common interests too, things you might typically expect to find in a young boy’s bedroom, such as dinosaurs, toy tanks, and a racetrack.
I think what really stands out to me though is what looks to be a trampoline next to the race track? And also this big ass sword??
Seriously, how the fuck does he even hold this thing??? Lollll 😭😭
Don’t really have analysis on either of those but, they’re certainly interesting!
Also this doesn’t have to do with his room, but, I’m also such a sucker for the baking hc, that he gets more into baking after put it down, and forms an actual career from it in the future! I think it’s really cute!!

If the reboot seasons keep going with the early merges, coaster strategies like Millie’s or to an extent MK’s are gonna be really viable. Not winning challenges puts you in danger on a team, but pre-merge there’s usually at least one asshole everyone hates who can be a target instead. Fly under the radar, be nice to your team, and look like you’re doing your best even when throwing. Post-merge, it can be really viable to throw challenges because competitors who win a lot of competitions like Julia, Priya, and Caleb will be targeting each other due to their obvious threat level.
Coasting doesn’t necessarily mean a boring strategy. What it means in TD is usually letting an ally carry you to the end because they think they can beat you and then stabbing them in the back at the last minute.
I think the most viable winner of a potential season 3 under this idea is probably MK. She has Julia by her side who basically has a neon sign above her at all times saying “I’M A HUGE COMPETITIVE THREAT AND ALSO THE WORST! VOTE ME OUT!” and because MK so rarely wins anything, people aren’t likely to think voting out MK will undercut Julia’s game in any meaningful way. As long as Julia doesn’t backstab her again—which to be fair she definitely would do—she’s good in that department. The only issue here is that MK doesn’t throw competitions, she just sucks at anything physical (affectionate). So if she and basically anyone were in a final 2 I’m not super confident she could actually win unless she cheated somehow or just got lucky with a more mental competition. Maybe against Millie who’s not great at challenges or Zee who she could probably deceive into losing.
Speaking of Zee, he’s also a great coaster. Everyone except Julia and MK like him and those two only like each other (🏳️🌈). He has an ally or potential ally in basically everyone else. His social game is for the most part really strong. However, when he was eliminated in both s1 and s2 it was because everyone was mad at him for doing something stupid. In s1 it was probably just to take him out in a silly way because he’s mostly a gag character, but in s2 it was because he let slip the insane number of secrets he has on EVERYONE. People either tell him everything and anything on their mind or don’t realize he’s eavesdropping. Either way, it’s very promising. If he’s more strategic in the future and doesn’t blow up his game by spilling secrets in front of everyone and instead uses them to his advantage, he has good win potential. He’s also not terrible at challenges, and has a good showing in a majority of them. The catapult challenge definitely proves that he can excel in challenges even better than Julia when he needs to.
So yeah, those are my season 3 winner picks. I’d also be very happy with a Julia win without a redemption arc. She’s gay and horrible and wins.

HI I want to talk about the Keroro platoon mechas because I love how thoughtfully they're made and how they relate to their teams dynamic <3
VERY long post under the cut.
As you can see, the first Keroro mechs combine with Giroro being the bottom right leg, Dororo being bottom left, Kururu being left arm, Tamama being right, and Keroro being the head. This is what Kururu later refers to as Robot #1.
Later, when the mechs been destroyed and Shurara throws a tantrum, the team gets saved by what Kururu has dubbed Robot #2. Notice the changes here. Giroro is now the right arm, Kururu is now the right leg, and Tamama is the left arm.
This change is a big deal!
Your legs control your mobility. These, in a symbolic sense, are who I would imagine "carry" the team, or the rocks of the team, for lack of better words.
With robot #1, the base is Giroro and Dororo. Keroro's oldest friends, people he, in almost only a familiar sense, seems to be able to rely on. While all three seem to care about each other, these two are also most likely to shoot Keroro down.
Giroro because he hates when his plans are poorly crafted, and Dororo for refusing to participate in plans deemed too violent, among other things for both men. In relation to what that says about their characters, it almost implies Dororo and Giroro have to stop Keroro from walking into dumb shit. Very literally stopping him; ie controlling his mobility. In relation to Keroro, he uses their refusal as a reason why their plans never work out, ALSO putting the responsibility onto them as mobility.
With the younger duo, Tamama is, very fittingly, Keroro's right hand. Keroro and Tamama would probably like to believe Tamama is that loyal to him. Tamama gets to fuel his fantasy of being closer to the sergeant, and Keroro gets to have someone look up to him. To feel looked up too, in the very least. Kururu is his left hand, as the person who can make pretty much anything happen. I'm sure to Kururu, it'd also be beneficial to be seen as close to Keroro. They are the most loyal to him, in his eyes. Hands.
Now Robot #2 is built SPECIFICALLY to get them out of trouble. If Robot #1 is to represent how the team as it usually functions, Robot #2 is where they're most functional, or where they need to get.
I'll start out with Tamama. It's just a part of growing up that you learn your heroes are human. (He does this in the manga at least.) This doesn't mean he wants to leave him, though. Shown with him being his left hand instead of his right, it's good not to take everything Keroro says to heart, but that doesn't mean he wants to give up on him.
Giroro is his right hand. He's also the only one who is WHOLLY focused on invasion; the reason they're stuck on this planet in the first place. While they both go back and forth at each other all the time, Giroro would die for Keroro. He's trying to get him on the most fruitful path, even though he's harsh with how he goes about that.
Kururu is his left leg. He does more than the platoon has (willingly) acknowledged. He's pretty fucking needed in the case of invasion as a base, but also, he keeps tabs on everyone. He can track them down, finds and stops dangers before they even get to them. Don't get me wrong though, there's something interesting to consider that he moved further from his captains arms. This could represent everything he's kept hidden from the team.
I could say a million things about Dororo's place, mostly because I find it so like him. He didn't move. I'm not saying everyone should shut Keroro down, but Dororo is almost always in the right when he does it. Yes, he would be in a humans perspective to the invasion, but even with Keroro's feelings in mind he does his best to keep things fair. He doesn't take out his feelings over their past. They're both not perfect to each other of course, but Dororo is right where he needs to be. Which brings me to Keroro.
Keroro is the head. I know I've talked about him in relation to everyone else in this post, but there's a reason why you need to focus on that. How he see's the team and how the team gets along changes it's functionality, and as their leader, he needs to pay attention to both. He's pretty much in charge of both. How they see Keroro, how he allows them to see him, and how he see's them is placed right in front of us.
I could easily be reading into a mech that's clearly designed to be marketable, but I'd like to believe there's more to it than that. It's shows what work Keroro needs to do with his team. Tamama's misplaced idolization, finding understanding with Giroro, getting to know Kururu's everthing, and considering Dororo in general. And when it comes back to Keroro, it shows that his team won't give up on him. They just need to get a little closer.
Four sources, the whole robot change happens in episode 203.
I don't know if this is anything, but it meant enough to me to type this out at 2 am, so I'm posting it. Please let me know what you think and if there are any errors! Also, if this does seem like I'm reading to much into it, just know I will do it again
#if you read the full thing THANK YOU ILY <333#this show still has a grip on me. the characters are strewn into my nervous system#keroro#tamama#giroro#kururu#dororo#loveposts#i love you symbolism in stories thank you symbolism in stories

Do you have headcanons on how much do steam team characters swear
You know what. I am going to make them right now:
Thomas: Doesn't swear that much when he's around older engines (Like Edward, Toby or Gordon) but every once in a while he will drop a huge f-bomb whenever he feels like it. Basically he's the dude to say "Toodles" but then says "SHIT" when he's panicking.
Edward: Oh boy.... I don't even know how to put this into words... His mouth is as dirty as a wastewater facility. Constantly swears whenever he's stressed or pissed (Which happens a lot). Unintentionally teaches younger engines swear words more than the engines that purposefully do. If it wasn't for Toby or Gordon constantly keeping an eye on him, he would be cussing 24/7.
Henry: Nobody has heard him swear in his life. The closest thing that would count as him saying swears are mild swear words like "Heck" or "Crap".
Gordon: Thinks swearing is absolutely disgraceful and calls out engines who do swear. Is Sodor's swear police no #1. Doesn't swear except for the time Bill and Ben were about to push him into the sea. Dropped a MASSIVE "Shitheads" bomb and the twins know better to not push on his buttons too much.
James: Usually swears when he's throwing insults at someone. Quite creative too. She can come up with roasts that nobody else can. Her language is as red as her coat of paint. The only time that they aren't swearing while insulting was the time their brakes caught on fire and they were yelling "Shit" repeatedly.
Percy: Sometimes he swears and sometimes he doesn't. It's 50/50 with them considering that they have to watch their language when they're around their younger brothers, Phillip and Pluto. Somehow he manages to make the most offensive curse words sound so casual.
Toby: Also doesn't swear that much. The only times that he swears is when he's angry and even in that situation, he always mumbles them under his breath so that nobody can hear him. Swear police no #2.
Emily: Pretty much the same of Percy. The only difference between them is that she manages to make curse words 1000x worse. Like she would turn them into the most offensive things to ever be uttered from her mouth.
(Also side note if you're confused with James' and Percy's pronouns: James is genderqueer and uses any pronouns while Percy is a demiboy and uses they/them/he/him with no preference at all)

okay you said you had a pokémon fanregion in your head, and now i gotta hear all about that, is the thing
OH god actually it's really funny how much shit that was in it has come to pass in canon by now, because I originally conceptualized it circa gen 4. It's usually what I think about if I think of like pokemon fancharacters or whatever. here we fuckin go
It was based on the Holon region in the TCG which has pokemon with funny types. we have Tera types now... the idea was that it would be begin further expanding and adding its own League and whatnot. I put it as above Johto/Kanto so relatively gen 1&2 selection of mons. keeping it simple.
it was more about the Weird Type Shit, which the pokemon prof of the region was studying under an organization she was a part of (the evil team, which was not branded as "Team (x)" just like Aether Foundation lmao). anomalies to track down and whatnot. but they were also inducing it themselves and studying other detected anomalies in the region. or sometimes the experiments they did created new, unintended anomalies of their own
this was mostly to make Missingno canon. which is like the only thing that hasn't still come to pass yet (BUT IT SHOULD!!!!!!). my dearest darlingest Missingno, the entire reason I love glitches today, was effectively my box legendary. the backstory of the prof was much like Lusamine in that she saw this Fucking Weird Pokemon a long time ago due to her Experiments and it fucked her up and she became a weird bad anime mom afterward. SHE EVEN HAD A DEAD HUSBAND!!!!!!! I FUCKIN INVENTED LUSAMINE FIRST
oh I should mention the "protag" analogue of the region WAS the professor's child. SO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you had to fight your mom. who is the prof. who is also the evil team leader. and corrupted by some messed up videogame code. damn that sucks
later when we started getting more AI-feeling Rotom characters, I imagined a Rotom in a more robot/android body as one of the team underlings. he was the protag's buddy back home but now he has to fight you :( sorry i dont wanna do this but my programming is telling me to (throws a pokeball out halfheartedly)
(ASIDE: I remember in the first movie when they were like flabbergasted at Mewtwo technically qualifying as a pokemon trainer. that was kinda fucked up and weird, can we go back to that? tbh when I think about it, a lot of the vibe of my fanregion is based on how Weird early pokemon gens felt. they really dont make it like this anymore. Ape Inc became Creatures, I'm certain some EarthBound talent factored in)
I think I was also imagining weird-typed versions of the legendary birds for a trio, which is funny cuz we got Galarian versions of them now too....
Hooke was originally a Pokemon OC and was my first one actually, he ran a Dark-type gym because one didn't exist in canon yet. he was ex-Team Rocket and moved up north to turn a new leaf. thought it fit Dark's vibe as like the Schemer Type. I had to wait amazingly long for an actual Dark-type gym in canon which is kinda funny. it actually felt a little sad when we finally got one because it had been 11 years since I had made Hooke in protest of this
if you remember my OC Serafine (she doesnt have a TH SORRY), she was also an evil team exec.
she doesn't have a modern analogue but another one of the fancharacters was the rival-type one and she was Lt. Surge's spoiled neice
the Ghost-type gym leader I can describe as a Super Nerd with the constitution of the Hiker. can see ghosts but is a social outcast but more in a nerd sense than a goth sense. I liked him a lot but I haven't had anywhere to put him :(
the Psychic-type leader was extremely tsundere and her mind reading helped her out with all those tsundere insecurities (now she's just paranoid and preemptively reads people's minds)
the Fire- and Steel-type leaders were a duo battle of "smoke and mirrors" themed magicians. and also married
this is largely stream of consciousness I hope this post makes SENSE

guess who made a NEW PJO OC... TANNER STARLING - THE SON OF HERMES - DESCENDANT OF DIOMEDES - SCORN OF APHRODITE AND ARES I've always hated "Bad Boy" tropes with characters who just hate people and hate everyone and treat their love interest horribly, acting like no one understands what they've gone through. And, I decided I did NOT want that for Tanner. So why not have a bad boy that goes against it? Have him be a genuine nice guy who gets the short end of the stick every time. Have him be the type of bad boy that jumps fences and helps you get out of trouble or is completely willing to take the blame for you every-time that you screw up, like, "Oh, you broke this vase? No. I'll tell Chiron I did it, okay?" Have him be the kind of team-player rebel. Tanner is a witty, fast-paced, and determined seventeen year old. If you can't keep up with him, it's unlikely you'll be friends. He's driven by ambition to become a part of something greater. He's athletic; he loves sports and competing, and he's something of a "jack of all trades, master of none" - he's scarily good at handpicking, stealing, and escaping. He could probably be trained to do another task if he was that determined. He inherited his father's sense of humor, which means pranks everywhere. A lot of my OCs won't be able to go anywhere without worrying that Tanner's got a prank set up. But, he's also very empathetic; he tunes into people's emotions, and it hurts him to watch them hurt. To him, it stops being funny when someone shows signs of physical or emotional distress (he'll sober up immediately if someone cries). He's absolutely willing to throw down with people who like to mess around and call pushing people around 'pranks', because putting people in danger isn't pranking.
I have a headcanon that a lot of Tanner's old bruises and scars are from brawling with his classmates. He was the black sheep; the athletic new kid that was super friendly but moved often, never celebrated fathers' day, and could get angry quickly. Him getting angry at people (not without good reason) often resulted in brawls in which the faculty had to pull him off a kid because, come ON. Tanner's a demigod. They literally have fighting hardwired into their brains. They know where to move when to move and when to punch which is why Tanner beats up 2.5/3.0 of the people he fights with. Usually he's the one to throw the first punch if he's aggravated or jabbed, but if he's not pissed off, it takes people trying to hit him for him to start fighting; he doesn't insist on violence. His personality? Very laid-back, but also very silly. He likes pranks (already been established), he loves to joke around, he loves comedy, he loves the dramatics of theater. He's loyal and brave, but he's also very driven by ambition, and can come off as antagonistic sometimes. He's very stubborn, and stands his ground. He can also come off as sarcastic and abrasive, which he can be under certain circumstances. I some-what based him off of Hamilton's personality (couldn't help it). Anyways, PT. 2 of Tanner Starling will be made, and it'll be in my blog; this is long enough, and Tanner's lore is a lot. Share your PJO OCs!! I'd love to hear about them!!!

Lyra (HGSS) Character Headcanons
HGSS character headcanons that no one asked for? Hell yeah let's go!
Starting off strong with Lyra:
Lyra is the "main" protag mostly because she's who I played as a kid. She's the one who collects the badges, fights with Silver, becomes Champion, confronts the legendaries, etc etc.
She ends up choosing Totodile at the beginning of the game (my beloved). Her final team ends up as Feraligatr, Togekiss, Ampharos, Umbreon, and Skarmory (who's her sixth pokemon? no idea :] but I'm open to suggestions)
She and Ethan are childhood friends, and Kris is kind of like a cool older friend/sibling figure to them both (I aged her up a little just to account for the fact she's not in HGSS but don't worry, she goes on her own cool journey too ;) I'd hate to leave her out) (Lyra actually started wearing her hair in pigtails because Kris did and she thought it was just. the coolest.)
Meanwhile her thoughts on Silver are basically "oh I lowkey hate you" → "you're not that bad actually just a little messed up in the head" → "if you die I'm going down with you whether you like it or not"
I like to think she's around 15-16 years old by the time she goes on her journey?? old enough to be a mostly independent person but young enough to find herself in wacky scenarios and get away with it. It is a bit older than the average age kids will start their journey though.
After her dad left (because most of the pokemon protags have daddy issues for some reason???), her mom had no idea what to do with her. She ended up keeping Lyra isolated in the house for the longest time, but she eventually realized it was easier to let her kid wander around wherever instead of actually keeping track of her. Lyra hates having to stay cooped up inside for too long as a result.
She's not exactly the most outgoing person (at least not at the beginning of the game), but she is very friendly and a little overeager sometimes---she tends to leave a very strong impression on the people she meets. She can also be very talkative/loud, especially when she gets excited. She tries to keep it to a minimum but sometimes she can't help herself (infodumping king, we love her for it).
Her optimism is absolutely relentless. No matter how many times she's knocked down, she'll get up again and wipe the blood from her face with a smile even if she's lowkey dying inside.
On a similar note, she's extremely stubborn as well. Once she has her mind set on something, she'll keep throwing herself at it until she succeeds or dies from blunt force trauma.
She's the kind of person who considers it a personal failure if she can't bring all the groceries from the car inside in one go (or she would if. if she had a car.))
She can be a bit of a pushover, but in the sense that she'll put up with way more bull than she really needs to. Not because she's too afraid to stand up for herself or anything, she just has a hard time recognizing when enough is enough sometimes.
She absolutely adores pokemon, and she probably would've become a researcher under Elm if she hadn't gone on her pokemon journey. She trailed around after him a lot as a kid, so he'd usually give her some kind of busywork to keep her occupied while he did actually important stuff. Eventually he'd let her run errands for him and even ask for her assistance in small projects (he probably would've let her help out more if she weren't a very rowdy/clumsy kid in the middle of a lab filled with sensitive equipment).
Combine her love of pokemon with an impulsive nature, general lack of fear, and absolutely no self-preservation, and you get someone who has casually approached actively dangerous pokemon just to check them out and say hi on multiple occasions (this is exactly what happened at the Lake of Rage. She just happened to see the red Gyrados and sprinted at it full speed, meanwhile Lance is there in the background like "oh hey there's a child wait what is the child doing---" before chasing after her).
Growing up in a small rural town away from any gyms, she didn't get to meet many trainers until she started her journey. As a result, she doesn't understand the concept of actually training her team until she befriends Silver. She's just like "training? oh you mean when I run around and play with my pokemon and give them treats?" and Silver responds with "how the hell have you made it this far."
That's not to say she's bad at battling! Quite far from it actually, considering the fact she literally beats the E4/Lance, some of the strongest trainers in Johto and Kanto. It helps that she takes the time to really talk to and understand her team, so their communication skills (both spoken and nonverbal) in battle are almost unmatched. Paired with quick reactions and adaptability, she's a trainer who can still give more experienced opponents a challenge.
Once she becomes Champion she spreads herself all over the place. She can't stand to stay still for too long, so once she's done with one project she'll leap right into the next one. This would be fine if she could actually tell when she's starting to overwork herself, so her friends often have to drag her away from her work if she's burning out too bad.
One of her many projects includes the restoration of the Brass Tower (the Burned Tower in hgss). The idea had originally been an offhand comment from Morty, but she ended up hopping fully on board and it became a joint effort. Once reconstruction is complete, she opens the first floors of both towers to the public---it took a lot to convince the sages of the Tin Tower to allow people in but Morty has a lot of influence as both a gym leader and avid preserver of local culture---and it serves as a way for Johtonians to learn about and connect to their history.
As Champion, her reputation is basically "will crush your entire pokemon team with a smile on her face." She's nowhere near cruel or harsh---if anything, she's actively supportive of her challengers---but she also refuses to go easy on anyone.
She'll keep her team in their balls while traveling or in busy areas, but she loves to let them out at every possible opportunity. Once she gets her own home
She grew up in a lake town (I imagine the river on Route 45 opens up into a small lake east of New Bark Town before continuing down Route 27 to the ocean), so she knows how to swim and loves the water.
On the other hand, she despises flying. She can fly on her pokemon in an emergency, she'll just have her eyes squeezed shut and hold on for dear life the entire time. It's one of the very few things she's genuinely afraid of even if she'd never admit it.
She also hates cold weather, being naturally cold-blooded herself. It wasn't too bad in New Bark Town since the weather there is fairly pleasant, but once she travelled north it became more of a problem. She very rarely complains out loud, but when she does, it's usually about the cold.
She loves warm savory foods, especially anything with rice. Curry is one of her favorites (if she ever visits Galar she'd have the time of her life).
She's a chronic sleeptalker (dude can't even shut up in her sleep <3 )
Her knee gets a little messed up from all the dangerous fun stuff she gets herself into (though both knees are already scarred up from her childhood adventures). As it turns out, constantly hurting the same joint isn't very good for you! She gets a knee brace sometime in her twenties but often forgets to wear it until her knee starts to Hurt or her friends nag her about it.
School was Not A Good Time for Lyra. Even if she couldn't tell she was audhd, the people around her definitely could. Combine constant nagging from teachers with alienation from her peers, and by the time primary school rolled to a close, Lyra was almost glad her mom couldn't be bothered to pay for secondary school.
#pokemon#pokemon hgss#hgss#trainer lyra#lyra#trainer kotone#kotone#headcanon#pokemon headcanons#do i think this will get any traction?#probably not#but i wanna post it anyways bc it makes my brain go brrr#and i lowkey hope i can infect someone else with the brainrot too >:)

Project Praetorian 39: New Arrivals, pt 1, Friction
The team greets the new kids who just touched down, and Xavier demonstrates his leadership capability, dealing with one of the most troublesome new arrivals. TW for racism, antisemitism, queerphobia, ableism...spoiler warning, one of the new conscripts is alt-right at this point in the story. And he's now dealing with a unit whose CO is a Jew, whose Intelligence Officer is an Afro-Latina, and whose second in command is a Black man. Oh for the record there's also a bit of toxic masculinity in the groundwater, but they are being combat trained by a Marine, and frankly... yeah, teenage males do, in fact, use "throw down" as a fast and dirty means to establish pecking order if nothing else is working. As always, @canyouhearthelight helped find a good balance for all of the characters here, and did an excellent job beta reading. A big send up to @learntolive-again for the original design behind Micah as well, who is a different and far more likeable member of the new kids.
Xavier
As the blackhawk set down, Vergil called out to the rest of the kids about who was getting off. “Smith and Franks are with them - so is someone else. Tall white guy, bald. Broad shoulders. Suit. Looks like he’s got a shoulder holster?”
“That’s Agent Thompson.” Echo said. “He’s from Aventine - odds are they were gathered and held there for a day or two before getting transported here. He’s actually the guy who black bagged me.”
Xavier filed that away. “Anyone else?”
“Uh…Tall Latina girl, just hopped off the chopper. She looks around fifteen or sixteen. White boy, short hair, kinda brownish? Blue eyes. He’s got a bruise under one of his eyes - he’s wearing cuffs. Uh…black boy, paler than Xavier or Echo, maybe mixed, might be the youngest of the three, kinda twitchy, I’ve been watching him for five seconds and he keeps fidgeting with his shirt. And…uh…girl. Agent Thompson and Franks are lifting her out of the chopper, putting her in a wheelchair. Really. Her arms are moving, her legs aren’t.”
Xavier idly made a note to explain to Vergil that ‘mixed/not mixed’ was not really a thing you could distinguish by sight most of the time but for the purpose of right now that was not gonna be his biggest problem. What were they doing conscripting a paraplegic?
The group was already running over, at least ready to greet the new kids, with Gideon calling after them, and Xavier’s mind was racing. The disabled girl couldn’t fight - not even like Shiloh - so conscripting her, even if she was a strong candidate, would have been with truly evil intentions, probably with the intent of using her to test the limits of Koleth’s process.
They got to the chopper landing pad as the blackhawk was beginning to lift back off, heading towards the airstrip.
Xavier waved to everyone, preparing to start his usual welcome spiel. “Hey, welcome to Imperator. I know you’ve probably got a lot of questions and none of them have been answered because your kidnappers were probably assholes, but you’re with your fellow kidnap victims now and we’re happy to answer most of them.”
Then the white boy spoke. “Why the fuck do they have you rolling out the welcome wagon?”
“I’m the second in command of the team you just got press ganged into and we prefer greeting our newbies ourselves rather than having our in-house opposition do it for us.” Xavier said, lightly, slowly scanning the other boy’s body language, recognizing the tension, hostility, and feeling himself grow tense.
The Latina girl snorted and said something in Spanish, which Xavier didn’t catch. Echo responded, haltingly, and Xavier glanced back at her. “I picked up a little, I’m not fluent, but I know a bit. We’re…just expect we’re gonna wind up having to be polyglots by the end of the war, now that I’m thinking about this.”
The white boy - Jared - snorted. “We’re in America, right?”
A prickle rose in Xavier. “We are, though we’re gonna be operating all over the world, so we probably should pick up a few more languages,” he started, easily. “Anyway, the multilingual girl over there is our intel officer, Echo. The blonde kid behind me is team sniper. Where the fuck is…” he suddenly spotted Mark, who stepped forward and offered a hand.
“Mark Ascher. Team leader. Xavier is the second in command.”
If Xavier had any doubt about the problem this might turn out to be, it vanished the moment he saw Jared’s face twist in disgust as he heard Mark’s last name - and visibly refused the proffered hand. “Casey, over there, is more of a close range suppression expert, and the giant guy, Jonathan, is our heavy weapons expert. Shiloh is a medic - and the little redhead is more of a specialized support situation, it doesn’t really make sense in normal military terms. You’ll understand it better once you actually see how we do stuff.”
“We already got filled in on the idea that we’re gonna get experimented on and get fucked up powers. That was just about the only thing anyone bothered making clear to us.” The paraplegic girl spoke up. “Speaking of which, I’m Kimmy. The Neo Nazi you’re bothering to try to be polite with is probably screaming a certain word, hard R, in his head, after asking, out loud, what the point of grabbing a cripple like me was. Honestly, I’m impressed by the restraint that he didn’t start calling your ringleader a slur at the offered handshake.”
Xavier’s gaze didn’t leave Jared’s face as Shiloh’s snapped over to Kimmy - and the medic began signing rapidly, even as Casey began translating. Kimmy was laughing for Shiloh’s remarks. “Oh, he’s going to love you, but…”
Xavier refocused on Jared. “She kidding?”
“White identitarian. Some of the modern movements can recognize Nazis had some really dumb hangups.”
Xavier blinked. “Answering ‘yes’ would have been exactly as shitty but made more sense.”
“What a surprise, you don’t get it.”
“Mostly I don’t get what a Nazi’s ideology is if you strip out all the shitty hangups about race, religion, ability, sex, like…what’s left, at that point? The standard-setting bad guy aesthetic of the century? An obsession with impractical superweapons?”
Jared opened his mouth and Xavier interrupted. “Don’t answer, I actually didn’t want to know or care to find out.”
Xavier signaled to Jonathan, and said, flatly, “This guy is a Neo-Nazi. Sorry, white identitarian. It’s like a neo-nazi, but apparently with fewer hangups about…something. The hangups they keep are the ones that suck though. Also, not that it matters, worse drip.”
Xavier tried not to smirk as Jared looked up and down at Jonathan - the very image of the Aryan ideal. A man who, garbed in Hugo Boss, with his blond hair, muscular physique, and piercing blue eyes, would have looked like the perfect scion of the Prussian warrior class to splash across an SS recruitment poster. Jonathan looked at Jared and asked, “So…how are we gonna deal with him?”
“I figure we have to figure it out. Like…maybe he can get his shit together, maybe not. If not…aliens are a thing, odds are he’s gonna catch a plasma bolt when he can’t accept taking orders from a Jewish boy or acting on intelligence from a black girl.”
“I just want to ask. We’re getting kidnapped by a flagrantly globalist organization. Experimented on against our will. You’ve been put at the disposal of a Jewish officer. Fighting something that is kept secret from the rest of the world. And none of you are even considering that my worldview has a point?”
Xavier looked at Jared for a very long minute. “Mark was kidnapped too, dipshit. Also, he didn’t get promoted by Imperator. We picked him as officer. He only got an actual rank later.”
“Why’s the medic flailing around?”
Jonathan growled. “It’s ASL. Why are you talking?”
“Just curious about how stupid this place is.”
Xavier held up a hand, which probably indirectly saved Jared’s life. “Jonathan, please control your temper. If you hit him right now, with no protective gear, pieces of his skull are going to fly everywhere, hard enough that it’s going to be a hazard to other people.”
Jared managed to not flinch at that, though whether that was because he was very brave, very stupid, or simply didn’t realize how strong Jonathan was yet, Xavier couldn’t tell.
Jonathan eased down and Xavier looked back to Jared. “Now, not that I really want to ask you but the boy you came here with, since apparently babysitting you is my duty right now…”
“Some nut from an immigrant family. Honestly don’t know much more than that. Didn’t talk to him much. Name was Micah. Place is really recruiting from the bottom of the barrel. Freaks, gangbangers, cripples, queers…”
“White trash neo nazis.”
Jared snorted. “Alright. I walked into that one. People calling the shots don’t look at me any better than they look at a banger like you.”
Xavier scowled. “I’m not actually a gangbanger. Asshole. They said I was, to get me in juvie, then they took me here. How’d they pick you up?”
“Said I was involved with a junior chapter of a white supremacist group, scooped me up.”
“Were you?” Xavier was morbidly curious.
Jared shook his head, and Xavier was relieved when he began his explanation. “No. I had an older cousin, but I was planning to join the military when I turned eighteen, get away from my parents, maybe go back and pledge later when I got out, or maybe not. They don’t take you if you’re with a radical group.” “You have the most remarkable talent for saying shit that looks like it’ll dig you out, then turning hard and digging deeper instead. Why’d you want to join up if you thought the problem was stateside?”
“Why’re you trying to get in my head?” Jared was suddenly sharp, aggressive.
Xavier cursed internally. “Maybe I like knowing who I’m working with. Maybe I know that Imperator is hell and we’re stuck in it together and I’d rather not be dealing with a neo Nazi the whole time and having to wonder if I’m gonna shoot him so he doesn’t frag me, or Mark. So I’m trying to figure if I can find something that can get us some kind of understanding.”
“Fuck off. If we’re fighting aliens I get that they’re priority. But I’m not gonna pretend that it’s fine that I’m working with people who belong here only slightly more than the aliens do.”
Xavier realized that ironically he already had an option with just that, but it wasn’t enough - a start, but not a good one, not something that would get Jared onboard with anything real.
But Jared wasn’t going to listen to that perspective, not now. And on another level, there was a language he and Mark spoke to each other, a language every teenage boy was intimately familiar with.
On one hand, using it with someone like Jared might confirm all of Jared’s already atrocious beliefs about him and people like him. On the other, the shock of it happening followed by a rapid follow up might allow him to actually speak and be heard.
No, though. Not here, where the staff would see. Later, where there weren’t cameras. Assaulting the new guy in front of staff would communicate internal conflict Imperator could exploit.
They were back at the tables and Xavier could see Mark talking to Micah, nervously at first, then excitedly. Mark pulled out his phone and texted - Xavier looked. “Micah’s family is Ethiopian originally. Mixed-faith. Micah’s Muslim, sister is Jewish. We’re talking food and holiday stuff.”
Xavier glanced back to where Kimmy was being talked to by both Shiloh and Casey, and to where Echo was fumbling her way through a conversation with Mia. “Fuck…”
The newest wave was going to be harder to integrate. Parties and everything else didn’t make language barriers or ability barriers or whatever psychological issues Micah had any easier.
Or Jared’s bullshit.
Speaking of which, Xavier turned to Jared and said, very, very softly. “Listen. This is a party. A welcome party, a party that our conditions are better than when we came here. Long term, after we win the war, we’d like to make the whole world better than it was. We’ve won two battles against the aliens. We’ve also fought humans - and won both times. We’ve never fought another Praetorian. I don’t know how it would go. But I’m never going to find out. Because, to be really clear? If it becomes obvious you’re going to fight us rather than help us? You’re not going to live long enough for your powers to develop into an actual threat.”
He took a breath, then leaned back. “I get it. Right now, you’re new. You’re scared. You’re rattled. It’ll take a while for you to integrate to the team. Take it as a chance to work on your shit with Leon. Don’t make it anyone else’s problem. We’re all in it together. Get to know people without pissing them off. Here’s the thing, Jared: my immediate family? Not bangers. I knew people who were. I had relatives who were. One uncle went down for some pretty heinous shit, and to this day I don’t know if he did it or was covering for the guy who did. I was told not to be like that. Maybe you were told to be like your cousin, maybe you weren’t. Don’t know. But this is a good time to be something else, because you’re not gonna survive this place if you choose to make an enemy of everyone else on the team.”
Jared was quiet, then walked away without a word, and Xavier looked at his food, shoved something in his mouth, and walked over to Mark, who excused himself from Micah at the look on Xavier’s face, as politely as possible passing him off to Molly and Vergil.
“Hey. Xavier. What happened?”
Xavier realized he was shaking, and sat down. “He’s a fuckin’ problem, Mark. I told him he could either drop the Nazi shit or we were gonna kill him.”
Mark looked at Xavier, and nodded. “Yeah. Yeah, you’re right.”
They both looked at the fire pit. “I didn’t realize how much I’d changed, man. I knew I could fight, knew I could plan, but like…That moment, where I told a kid our age I’d kill him, cold, for being a piece of shit, and I wasn’t even angry, I was just…I was just realizing that it was because he was a problem we couldn’t afford.”
“Yeah.” Mark was quiet, and Xavier shuddered, then Mark asked a question. “So, you’ve talked to him. Sorry I left you alone with that. Do you think he’ll listen?”
“I think he might. I told him he could change. That he had a choice. Lot of these assholes want to be big shots, and we’re gonna be the biggest deal around for a long time. He’s got glory on one hand if he decides that diversity isn’t so bad, or he’s got being buried in an unmarked grave on the other if he wants to stay a Nazi. Easy choice, right?”
“If he realizes those are the choices.”
Xavier nodded. “Let’s hope. How’s the new kid you talked to?”
“He’s pretty great. Antsy, he was hospitalized for some kind of psych disorder. He hadn’t told me which one when we got sidetracked.”
“What do you think of them scooping Kimmy?”
“I think we need a word with Gideon or Koleth.”
“Or both.”
“Yeah. Or both.”

Robots & Androids AU plus Small Town AU
OKAY I AM FINALLY GETTING TO THESE I'M SORRY I'M SO BEHIND!!!
Okay. So.
Humanity kinda developed a LOT of health issues in the mid-late 23rd century. It was all a long time in coming, but it was a bit of a shocker still when people started breaking down. And there just wasn't enough people to keep up with the demand for new organs, tissue, blood, etc. The human race was basically failing. So, in a semi last ditch attempt to keep people alive, cyborg technology was put to work. Scientists had been messing around with the theory of it for years, since robots and androids were getting decently advanced. But they never had the support to actually try a clinical trial. Until now.
Some of it worked better than others. And it was HIGHLY controversial. Though maybe less than it should have been, considering the lengths the research team was permitted to go in order to get this stuff sorted out... Mainly that they were given legal permission to try it out on patients without their express consent, mostly in situations where the person was in a coma/on life support with no real hope of recovery.
Towards the end of her life, Rose was offered the chance to try getting a cybernetic lung transplant to replace the one that had been damaged beyond repair by her cancer. She refused, as it would be super risky and be more likely to kill her than help. She would rather die in her own whole body than risk losing her last few weeks with her family.
After she passed, the remaining Molinas moved out of the city, to a small town a few hours north, to escape the grief and the terrible air quality that had been a part of Rose's quick decline in health.
Unfortunately, they just happened to pick the exact tiny town that the government had picked to dump their cyborg... pet projects. The ones who hadn't actually consented to their surgeries but had ended up surviving. Best to keep everyone with those stories contained while they championed the cyborg advancements. Especially since there were plenty of side effects...
Julie meets a lot of odd people on her first day at the local high school. These include a dude that never lowers the hood of his pink hoodie, a bassist in a leather jacket who never seems to stop smiling, a skater with a rather odd limp, and a boy with shaggy hair who never seems to hear what people say to him, always grooving along to some music no one else can hear. There's also a few other adult oddballs around, but I don't got the energy to write all those out.
Under the cut, it gets a little more specific about injuries and alterations to specific characters, so read at your own risk!
Turns out that all four of those odd boys are unwilling cyborgs who were a part of some of the first rounds of tests. Hey, they were all gonna die anyways, the government decided they might as well use them.
Willie was in a nasty car crash that smashed both legs and a few ribs. He has pretty good prosthetics now, but they don't always function properly. And if he keeps his hair long to cover the incision scar on the back of his neck, that's no one's business except his own.
Luke, Alex, and Reggie all nearly died of food poisoning back in LA, but due to a combination of slightly different reactions to the battery acid/food poisoning and scientists wanting to test out different tech, they all have different issues now.
Luke got some synthetic tissue repair on his organs and around his throat. But there was also some damage to his airways cause of throwing up so much, so there's some wiring stuff in there so he can still sort of smell... however that got a bit mixed around and so his hearing is pretty weak and the music he has stuck in his head tends to sound like it's coming from outside to him.
Reggie mostly got away without any organ damage, but his face got kinda messed up. Now he looks pretty normal, except his jaw and lips can't move a lot. So he's stuck with a permanent semi-smile. It's not creepy usually, just kinda sad. He tries to stay upbeat to match his face.
Alex got the worst damage to his digestive system. The connections between his organs and brain are mostly man made now, whether that's wires for neurotransmitting or fake tissue on the lining of his stomach. However, when the scientists realized they had someone with a diagnosed anxiety disorder, they... well they might as well try, since he's probably dead anyways. So there's also a metal panel on the back of his head. It didn't work, and the hair won't grow back around it. Hence the hood.
Somehow they all become friends and help each other kinda come to terms with their lives. And also play lots of music. Though the shadow of the head researcher, Dr. Covington, looms over them all... OKAY that's what I got for tonight! More thoughts may come later, but that's my rough idea! I hope you enjoyed!!!

OC posting? On main?
I was gonna say "more likely than you think" as if that hasn't been 50% of my deal lately. Anyway, came across a cute picrew and wanted to show off some of the original characters from Driving Through Tunnels (With No Light at the End) now that we've been introduced to most of the auto shop team!
Ricky (top left)
Jenny (top right)
Roger (bottom left)
Dean (bottom right)
(listen I tried my best to deliver "late 90s" but there's only so many choices when it comes picrew)
Some character rambles under the cut!
Ricky Kronbach - the man, the myth, the legend. Hardly needs an introduction since he's our main guy. Ran into some trouble, stole a conspicuous purple car because of it, and because he could neither afford a new car or a paint job, he tried to proposition Roger in exchange for said paint job. Instead, Ricky got a crash course on how to fix cars, a decent job, and a somewhat stable life in his home state of Minnesota. As of 1998, he's the newest mechanic to join the team. He's a bit of a prodigy when it comes to technology, having gone to university (and then expelled for unsavory reasons) for computer engineering. How that managed to translate to an uncanny ability to fix anything remotely mechanical that he touches is beyond anyone's guess. Ricky's a bit of a sour apple, but no one can really blame him. He plays things close to the vest, and someone must be at least a LVL 50 friend in order to unlock his tragic past.
Jenny - the token girl mechanic at the auto shop, but none of the guys look down at her for it. She can and she will bench press an SUV with her scrawny little arms, and she will also crash people's place whenever they're feeling down with pizza and a six pack. A single child, she's lived a pretty sheltered life. Her parents wanted her to be either a lawyer or a doctor, but ever since she was 5 she would collect Hot Wheels alongside her impressive number of "career" Barbies. She signed up for one class during high school and it was over: there was nothing she wanted more than to work on cars. Jenny's a little put off by Ricky at first since the guy kind of materialized out of nowhere one day, but she soon realized how committed he was to learning the ropes. During his first year at the shop she tended to keep her distance, fraternizing only during Bowling Thursdays, but when weird stuff starts to happen and Ricky begins to grow agitated, she self-appoints herself as Ricky's BFF. Surprisingly, they click extremely well.
Roger - being a man of morals, he saw a desperate kid on the run fighting to survive and he gave him a wrench, the couch in the shop office, and a bite to eat. Jersey accent? Thick. Eyebrows? Thicker. A bit of a hardass at work, but a caring family man when it's time to close up his shop for the day. He's 5'2" and will not hesitate to throw down with someone a foot taller than him if they act stupid. Hardly ever smokes, but will pull out a cigarette when shit gets a little dicey. He's a pretty lenient boss when his mechanics are going through it, and he tends to keep it professional while on the lot, unwilling to overstep. But being older means he's world-weary, and seeing a face he remembers from the news haunting Ricky, a young man no older than his oldest son, he will try to keep tabs on him and make sure he's okay.
Dean - senior mechanic nearly a decade older than Ricky and loves to rub it in his face. So far the most tech-savviest of them all, and also the nerdiest. He's scatterbrained and a gossip, his improv game is off the charts (which makes him a hit at D&D tables), and will try to get beetles to unionize given the chance. His fashion sense is only rivaled by Jenny's, which usually leads to Roger griping at him that, yes, he has to wear his overalls when hitting the bays. Yes, Roger is well aware that he's not the one buying Dean's clothes but for the love of God, kid, think of how much you can save by not getting motor oil all over those fancy threads. Though he might hold his age over Ricky (and Ricky thinks that might just be because Dean sucks at bowling), and is a firm believer in having co-workers be co-workers and nothing more, Dean has and will extend an olive branch in the case where he is needed. In fact, he's lost at least one mobile phone because he lent it to Ricky prior to a mysterious excursion, but he's never asked questions. Dean's been around the block enough times to know when not to ask questions, and he knows when people need to stick together.

“Come now darling, lean into the drama! A little more flair won’t hurt anybody~”
All credit for the og sprite belongs to the Twisted Wonderland team and Yana Toboso! The info template belongs to @unfinished-projects-galore here on tumblr!
(More info under the cut)
Now that I’m taking a break from Morrigan’s designs, here’s a non-student oc that I’ve recently come up with! I’m not gonna lie, I was really inspired by this adorable CrewelxReader fic! It’s super cute 🤧
Crewel is one of my favourite non-student characters so I’m indulging a bit. It was also completely coincidental that Stella and Yuri have similar hair and eye colours! I didn’t realize it until I had already committed to Stella’s design 🙃
Anywho, here’s some info about Stella!
Stella is inspired by Estella Von Hellman; Cruella’s meeker personality from the 2021 live action Cruella
I chose Estella because I thought she would be a nice complimentary character to Crewel
Stella Crewel is Divus Crewel’s wife and business partner
Stella is usually a soft spoken and gentle woman. She can sometimes come off as shy at first, though in reality she prefers to step away from the spotlight unless it’s necessary.
However, this doesn’t mean Stella is a pushover or insecure. Shes actually very confident in herself, her position, and her abilities. She is more than willing to put someone in their place if they’re out of line, it’s just that she isn’t as impulsive as you might expect.
Stella is known to hide threats and insults behind sweet words and passive aggressive comments which tends to throw off people who don’t know her well.
Stella is also known to be an exceptional designer who’s often praised for her work, though she isn’t egocentric. While her visions almost always turn out how she wants them, Stella is humble enough to admit when something doesn’t work out.
I think the idea of Crewel having a fashion brand is very fitting for him, especially if the brand was established prior to him becoming a teacher.
Stella and Crewel originally split most of the work for the brand since they started it together. Now that Crewel is teaching at NRC, Stella primarily looks over things
Stella was born and raised in the Queendom of Roses, though like Epel, was raised in a small village rather than a bigger town.
I don’t have a name in mind for this little village but I imagine it’s a port town located near the edges of one of the island that make up the Queendom
The village is also rather poor, or at least poorer than say the town Riddle and Trey grew up in.
Because of this, Stella had very little growing up, though it’s made her learn to work hard for what she wants and to appreciate what she has.
Stella didn’t meet Crewel until after she moved out of her village when she was in her early teens.
Stella claims to have gone to a coed mage school that had boarding for the students.
She thinks the idea of gendered boarding schools are odd. This is likely because she’s always attended coed schools.
I don’t have a name for Stella’s mage school (I can’t think of a good one) but I imagine it’s a smaller school similar to Noble Bell College.
I imagine that there may be a “historical figure” based off Cruella di Ville (or maybe even the Baroness from the live action movie).
The statue would serve the same purpose as the Greate Seven statues at NRC or the "Jester Judge" statue at NBC.
Aside from its focus on teaching mages to control their magic, this particular school also has a big focus on fashion and the arts
A lot of alumni from this mage school go on to be well known in the arts, whether it’s fine arts, theater, fashion design, etc.
Stella was top of her classes while at school
Stella prefers to have a few good friends than have a lot of superficial friends
Aside from her husband, she only really has four close friends. Two of them are childhood friends from her original village (TWST!Jasper and TWST!Horace), one is a friend she made when she moved to the city (TWST!Anita Darling), and one is a friend she made while attending mage school (TWST!Artie)
Stella overall has a “quality is better than quantity” mentality. She’d rather have or make things that are good quality even if there isn’t much of it, than have/make a large quantity of things that are of poor quality.
Stella has alluded to knowing skills like lock picking and even pick pocketing, skills she likely learned in her early childhood.
While Stella primarily takes care of the fashion brand while Crewel is teaching, she will sometimes substitute for him if need be
I can’t imagine that Crewel would call out often. He gives me the impression that he knows what he wants from his students and has a certain way of doing things that he doesn’t trust others to accomplish successfully.
He’d much rather have a meeting rescheduled or push through like a mild cold than figure out sub plans 💀
BUT, on the rare occasion that Stella convinces Crewel to take a break and find a sub, she’s usually the one he asks to take over for him
Stella has only covered for Crewel a small handful of times, so many NRC students don’t know that Crewel is married.
It was Stella’s idea to invite Yuri to stay with them during holiday breaks following Jamil’s overblot
It wasn’t until Stella and Yuri were standing next to each other that Crewel realized how much they look alike
Ngl I think it would be really funny if Yuri was mistaken as Stella and Crewel’s kid, especially b/c I love the idea of Crewel being Yuu/the MC’s unintentional father figure 🤧
Stella is the one who dyed the white half of Crewel’s hair. They have little spa nights that include root touch ups for Crewel 💕
Stella and Crewel have three Dalmatians named Louis, Parada, and Versace. Louise was Stella’s dog prior to the marriage while Parada and Versace were Crewel’s dogs.
Louis is a mama’s boy and is the most sociable of the three dogs. Parada and Versace are Crewel’s little princesses 💕
Let me have dog dad Crewel, it would be so cute 😭💕
And here she is! So fun fact, when I was coming up with Stella’s base sprite I kind of Frankensteined Leona, Epel, and Vil’s sprites. I like the position of Leona’s arms and Vil’s legs, but I liked Epel more as a starting point. Stella is a fair bit shorter than Crewel, so using a shorter character felt like a better choice.
I also really liked a lot of the costumes used in Cruella, I think a lot of Cruella/Estella’s outfits were really cool in the movie! Since I was basing Stella more on Estella’s character I used a few different pieces from Estella’s various costumes to come up with Stella’s outfit. Stella also wears more red and black clothes while white being more of an accent, compared to Crewel who’s has a predominantly black and white outfit with red as the accent. I thought it was fitting for red to be more prominent so it matched Stella’s hair colour. Stella’s earring is also a little call back to the animated Cruella’s iconic teal earrings!
Feel free to ask any questions, my ask box is always open!

What would Asya, Abaddon and one character of your choice wear to Pride?
IM GLAD YOU ASKED i know it's july. but it's always time 4 pride
asya:
asya is a performer and i can see her doing some singing at a pride event! and if she's performing, she's dressing up. for the outfit itself, gotta have a few bits of the classic rainbow, but mostly she's got a lesbian flag theme going on in a coordinated outfit. spends months before the event getting the perfect pieces in the right colors. might've even gotten the bustle shorts custom made.
if she was just attending pride without getting on stage she'd probably dress more like she normally does, tie some flannel around her waist and put on some pins or other accessories.
abaddon:
thinking of her in gta au for this which implies los santos has a pride event, which i can get behind lol
abaddon's got a much more casual look! spent an afternoon finding some rainbow pieces and called it a day. for someone who primarily wears red and black it's more colorful than her usual looks and she'd enjoy that for a day. she's also someone more likely to just throw on a couple rainbows vs looking to coordinate stuff/get pins in her more specific flags (trans, nonbinary, bi, demisexual, demiromantic) because the specific labels are less important to her than the queer umbrella. doesn't need to call out everything, the rainbow works just fine.
also gave her a water bottle and backpack because gotta stay hydrated out in the summer heat, especially if this IS gta au and it takes place in the gta version of california. the backpack is for more water bottles and the wallets/phones of her friends who might be more dressed up with less pocket space so they don't ruin their aesthetic with bags. abaddon's a team player.
jt:
jt's not queer herself but she's got two dads who absoLUTELY have been taking her to pride since she was an infant. she'll go with them as she grows up, too, but always love an excuse to draw her as a kid. she didn't necessarily pick out her outfit here, dads had to coordinate for her, but they do care a lot about her having a say in this sort of thing and got each piece jt-approved. she was particularly excited about the sparkly tutu.
as a teen and adult she gets different 'i love my dads' shirts to wear every year. probably doesn't wear too many rainbows herself outside of the shirt
bonus! cian:
cian is the allocishet guy in the friend group and someone who gets mistaken for also being queer a non-zero amount. it doesn't bother him and he mostly just corrects people if it's relevant. when the Bi Wife Energy tiktok came out he got like 5+ people sending it to him, 100%, thus the shirt, also since a lot of the women he dates/gets interested in end up being bi. cian is just a good guy and a safe guy and the queers flock to him, and also they invite him to pride with them and of COURSE he'll go.
(i think his design fluctuates every time i draw him. his hair looks pretty normal, i tend to make the... spikes? rounded for him and actually remembered to do that this time. it's the goatee that moves around a bit, finally remembered this time that usually goatees come with mustaches instead of only slapping the chin bit on him)
a couple more bonuses under the cut that don't fit the art styles
actually drew this abaddon before all the others, but struggled to draw any others in the same style. i wanted this post to be a bit more unified so i redrew her once i actually started having some luck with asya's piece, but i like how this turned out so i'm posting it damn it lmao i forget her undereye circles so often though, f
this piece is five years old now oh my god. ANYWAY sergey taking val to their first pride! sergey would either wear minimal actual pride gear - some beads he got at the event and a trans wristband - with otherwise normal clothes (accounting for the heat) or some kind of meme shirt on top of that. val also has minimal pride gear here mostly because they're looking to buy more at the event. sergey checks in on them frequently throughout the even to make sure they're not overheating in that binder. he remembers how fucking hot and sweaty those things get.
