A few words for the ones who stay camped in your inbox:

1) It is possible to be married to someone and not like their friends or family. I’m unsure why some people on here act like him “marrying” AB means he’s immediate besties with her loser friends and weirdo hanger ons. If anything, it’s toleration. How many of you have had partners whose friends you couldn’t stand or family you dreaded but you tolerated for the sake of keeping the peace? Have you seen Justin and CE pal-ing about anywhere? It doesn’t even seem like Justin himself is too big a fan of CE either which is funny, since without his name, this trash can of a human wouldnt have 90% of the engagement on his profile that he currently has. But sure - keep posting shade memes and trolling his fanbase. That’ll really get you brownie points 🙄

2) “he must be just like her and her friends” - already wrong because her besties are all self proclaimed fashionistas. Meanwhile CE stays wearing the same old Nikes from a decade ago and recycling the same t shirts in two different colors for the past two decades. Without a stylist (even with) he looks like he shops at the 75% section of champion sports. Why do you think he’s never there with her at those fashion week events? Why is he not there at the Lana del ray concerts? Maybe because he doesn’t care and still won’t care even if he’s married to her to the public??? If he hasn’t even bothered to change how he dresses or even pretend to care about fashion - what makes you think he’s going to change his views in life and humanity for her and her friends? If he hasn't bothered to adapt to her interests or at least feign some interest in doing so what makes you think he's suddenly going to change his entire personality to fit her and her friends? (I see him doing more of this with jenny and her friends than AB. think about it)

3) body language. Listen, you can say anything or even do anything - but your body language always gives it away. It’s innate for most of us at this point. This man is friendly, tactile, and affectionate to people he’s comfortable with. That much has been clear for the two decades he’s been a public figure. Look at the recent materialists shoot. He likely hadn’t met Celine or Dakota until this shoot (cant say for sure but let’s say they’re recent colleagues) - thanks to the vast BTS footage - sometimes candid, sometimes staged, sometimes random - you can see how he acts with them both. Friendly, open, smiling, affectionate, comfortable. Pedro even came through to post a pic and he looks softly happy with Celine - who is also a very affectionate person with the people she likes. He's been photographed multiple times with celine and he is always engaged, smiling with her. He’s filming with Dakota and can laugh and smile with her. There's footage of him arriving to set and she goes into hug him and he hugs her back, rubbing her back affectionately. it's not just a quick pat either.

He shows up for 5-10 pap walks with AB and not one walk has them smiling at each other. Not one pap walk. There are two random GG and UTA party photos where he’s smiling with her but man, after two years and two weddings you’d think he’d muster up a few more than fake smiles? Even the live footage at the restaurant - pap walk - the kiss is him a foot away from her and hands at his side. You’re a newly wed and you knew photos were happening and this is the best you give?

VF red carpet - he was polite and reserved with her at best, aloof and disengaged at most. even the parking lot photos after with his publicist, he's standing there looking at his phone while shes standing a foot away.

Remember the photo with Celine and Dakota where he's got arms around them both? possibly huddling to keep warm because it was a cold night of filming? compare that to parking lot with AB, especially since that was back in march and LA gets cooler at night.

4) A LOT of angry anons go in about age gaps and how men go for younger women because they think with their other head and blah blah. Sure, can be true. But pay attention to CE's body language around AB. Does he look like he's very super attracted to her and wants to XXX with her or does he keep his hands so to himself and even when he's posing with her? His movements are tepid, reserved, stiff. i do believe he is a gentleman and avoids being handsy around women unless they're both comfortable and I think you can see it in the recent materialists footage with his female costar and director.

maybe, he wants to be a gentleman with his own wife as well. sure. but I don't think when you're truly in love or attracted, you can really help yourself but show it. the same goes for when you're not attracted and not in love.

I mean, we saw Justin and Joana at Chris's house with Chris's friends. So if this isn't PR, then they are at least okay with them. And it's not even about one friend. Alba herself posted questionable things and friends with at least 2 people (Kiko and Justin) who are problematic too. While I get that you don't have to be besties with your spouse's friends or family members, Alba has been friends with Kiko and Justin, so she is okay with their views. I, personally, wouldn't want to be friends with someone who bodyshames people and wants to be quotes Hitler. And if Alba is okay with that behavior, it means she either agrees with them or she doesn't care that much. The same goes with Chris, if he actually married her. 

Trying to get into your partner's interest is not a must, but a decent thing to do for someone you love. Obviously, if it's something that makes you feel bad, for whatever reason, then nobody should force you to do so. But while getting into things she likes (Lana, fashion week) is not a must, having similar views is important. You don't have to get married to someone who is exactly like you, but I personally wouldn't want to be married to someone who is okay with racism and anti-Semitism. The whole "he must be like them" has nothing to do with his wardrobe but with him being okay with their views. If he is actually married to her, which I don't think. 

Yeah, his body language says it all. As you said, he looked really friendly and comfortable with Celine and Dakota, and I haven't seen him that way with Alba. Not even once. With Alba, they always look like they are forced to be there, and they look so unnatural and fabricated. 

That kiss in front of the huge door so the paps could take photos and videos of them was so cringe-worthy. Private couple, my ass. And the wipe of his mouth...jeez. 

I also don't see any attraction. You can see when he has chemistry with someone, and he usually does have it with most people, but not with his own wife, I guess. He is more affectionate with friends and family members than with the love of his life. Yeah, they don't have to have a make-out session, but even if you just look at them, you can see the lack of intimacy.

Originally, my assumption was that each timeline contained a duplicate of the entire multiverse. Doomed timelines don't seem to let you communicate with other universes/dimensions, though, so they don't need to contain other sectors of reality. I'm currently of the opinion that doomed timelines only contain an instance of the dimension they were doomed in. The only timeline which contains the entire multiverse is the Alpha.

This mechanic keeps doomed timelines simple, but in-universe, I don't know why it exists. Much like the Alpha itself, it's a mystery I can only speculate about.

Tavros is barely a presence on the Land he's ostensibly the hero of, and all of his actions are being dictated by a third party who can physically control his body. This third party does not acknowledge or respect Tavros's own desires, effectively forcing him to play the game in a way that she personally approves of.

Shit, this is such a dilemma. I'm honestly really torn.

See, I'd probably find old fandom theories absolutely fascinating to analyze. I'd love to know how closely my ideas align with those of the early Homestuck fandom, and whether I'm saying anything really out-of-pocket. My analysis of Sollux's ~ATH script was apparently an original theory, and it's honestly one my proudest moments.

But that's also sort of the problem, isn't it? If I dive too deeply into other people's fan theories, they'll start to affect my own - and if I'm introduced to a really compelling fan theory, it could end up replacing any homegrown theories that I could have developed in lieu of it. If someone had send me a well-reasoned ~ATH theory before I did my own analysis, I'd probably have been less motivated to make the analysis in the first place. After all, many of my questions would already have been answered by a clever theory I just read.

People are free to send me their own off-the-cuff opinions on what's happening in the comic, or their own takes on any meta I write. I get a lot of asks like that, and they're some of my favorites. There are also asks which spoil a little too much, but I'm still interested in their takes, so Cat's saving them for later. We don't really delete asks - we just delay the ones that aren't necessarily appropriate for a blind liveblog.

Obviously there's a fine line here, and whether a given ask is a theory or just an opinion is a little subjective - but in my opinion, the influence that asks and submissions have had on my analysis has been relatively minor. I don't think many of my theories have been spawned from an ask, or killed by one.

This is a little different, though, because it's part of a theory that was crowdsourced over several years. It doesn't sound like something that could be inferred by an individual, so I'm not sure if it's something an individual liveblogger should necessarily know about? If I start crowdsourcing my analysis, my theories will be less Wertsearch and more fandom consensus, and I don't think I'd enjoy that as much.

I really want to know, but I think I'll enjoy the liveblog more if I don't. When I finish the comic, I'll gleefully analyze any fan theory that anyone sends me - but for now, I'll just have to wonder, and come up with theories of my own!

Yeah, we've really been getting into it with Vriska lately. I've enjoyed trying to explain and predict her actions, and I'm glad people don't think I'm going overboard when trying to analyze her.

When a character does something interesting, I don't like to move on until I have a theory about why they did it. Sure, it may be refuted later, but it needs to be something that's consistent with what I currently know about their personality.

Vriska takes a particularly long time to puzzle out in this way. Her motivations are derived from a complex web (lol) of factors, including Scratch, Spidermom, her rivalry with Terezi, her horrendous relationship with Tavros, classism, teenage hormones, quadrant politics, highblood society and the Alternian culture of violence. They all inform her decisions, and any combination of them could have been the catalyst for the latest Vriska Incident.

I want characters to make sense to me, and Vriska is written to deliberately challenge my attempt to achieve this. Her meta is fun to write, so I'm glad it's also fun to read!

you guys shouldnt be too sorry! i did intentionally encourage these a few times, especially during the #mod 🫒's purgatory thing. because well, as a part of what i do on my blogs and streams I am a clown. i intentionally play as a sort of over-exaggerated feed-the-trolls fool because i think it makes me funnier. but the main issue is that I didn't set a proper boundary between intentionally goofy oliver and genuine human being oliver. This is a direct consequence of having everything be on my personal blog and not relegated to sperate spaces.

Im the list anon again and boy do I have more for you but this time I also have some questions as well if your time allows and you are willing to answer of course. First with the other things I loved:

1) the fact that Ron warmed up to Draco so quickly! I genuinely think thats so much in character. Ron is not a distrustful person and as a middle child as they come is very easygoing and would for sure make stupid jokes at Draco

2) The patronus. My god the Patronus. I seriously put the phone down and made a small slow clap during that chapter. At first I was like hmmmm *insert unsure kombucha girl face* because almost all fanfics have him with a dragon patronus and leave it at that (and lets be honest at this point my expectations of you were quite high dont blame me blame your bloody brilliant writing) but then, and I dont know if you did this on purpose or not (I have a feeling you did) but the fact that the dragon was the same (pale white) wounded but still feral dragon that Hermione FREEED (!) from a bank (£££) dungeon, malnourished and used for its nature, surrounded by darkness, wealth and misery!! And it was Hermione who broke its chains!!!!! Is just *chefs fucking kiss* slow clap*

3) the way you describe sex scenes are so natural! Ive never read a fanfic or book that doesnt make me gag a little bit (I am not a fan of smut at all but ill go with it because of a good story) until I read yours. Its so simple but yet intricate and you make the entire act so intriguing and normal and intimate. Bravo.

4) I LOVE SASHA. I love that Theo fell for her head over heels and the way you portrayd her reminded me of a friend of mine who works as a sous-chef in London so I always pictured her when reading it!

5) Dracos inner voice is ON POINT. Like I genuinely think you shoud own the rights to that character now.

6) Ill say it again. I love Ginny. You should also own the rights to her character too.

Now to some questions

A) What was the deal with Malfoy referring to Ginny as Weasly and refusing to aknowledge her Potter surname. And why did everyone kept correcting him? It was hilarious granted but I wanted to know whether the reason you included this time and time again had to do wih something deeper? Or was this included as just a funny recurring joke?

B) Why did you choose for Draco to have a “fantasy” to produce a patronus and not for example for him to have had to do that after theyd exchanged “i love yous”. Very interesting angle and i liked that it was sort of a loophole to all the ‘death eaters cant have patronuses’ but quite curious on the thought process

C) Why did you opt for Draco to remove his mark? Do you think that stands as reward for him more or for Hermione? Very smart solution by the way

D) if you have the time- Could you please elaborate a tad more on what the soul-bonding means? Why was it so taboo? At furst hand it seems like a very romantic/amazing thing to do with your partner right?

Lastly- Do you ever itch to make a second part to this? And in the most acceptable case that you dont, I always wondered what you had in mind for them in the future- because of the soul bonding thing, you mentioned that the generational curses will be erased, which means I guess that the Malfoys can have more than one child now, and girls as well. (I cannot believe im asking for this as I am the one to avoid any pregnancy fanfics but) do you imagine them with children and if yes, how many? How do they integrate muggle devices(I know youd agree wit me that Hermione would definitively bring some muggle stuff over!) and which devices would Draco really secretly like?

2.) Regarding your beautiful analysis of my specific dragon breed for Draco’s patronus: How many points would you like for your Hogwarts house of choice? I will add that according to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the Ironbelly’s scales are normally a metallic grey. I will also add that I subscribe more to book canon than movie canon. In the book version of events of the Gringotts escape, Harry breaks the chains and Hermione (with eventual help once the boys catch on) destroys the ceiling so it can have a way out. The partially blind dragon does the rest of the work on its own.

3.) Thank you, that’s very flattering.

4.) Does your friend also get you into fancy restaurants and can they make salted caramel bread pudding???

7.) Haha, I felt so validated by that line of dialogue in Cursed Child when Draco tells Harry he wanted to play quidditch professionally, but wasn’t good enough.

Now to some answers:

A.) It’s definitely a recurring joke. It’s up to the reader to interpret Draco’s actions here: is he doing it to be a massive troll? Or is he genuinely not retaining the information of her married name because he considers this fact so unimportant that he does not bother to keep it in his brain? Troll, snob, or both, you can decide!

B.) I’ll address the second part of this first, because it was not intended as a loophole. I 1000% do not understand the “death eaters can’t have patronuses” thing. It makes absolutely no sense. Snape has a Patronus. But beyond that… Umbridge has a Patronus (a cat). If we’re letting that woman have a Patronus, then yeah, I think Draco can cast one. As for the vision that Draco used to conjure it… up to you whether that’s a fantasy or a glimpse of a certain ritual actually working. Draco’s thoughts on the matter: “An image of such striking tangibility that he might have already lived it, or perhaps experienced time in such a way that he lived it now.”

C.) I wanted Draco to have a choice, obviously a recurring theme for him in RN. For my characterization of him, that symbol on his arm causes him nothing but shame and self-loathing (see the end of chapter 36 during his heart-to-heart with Hermione). He’d already exercised almost every known avenue to rid himself of it before Hermione entered his life (he lists these in chapter 44). Hermione already loved him (and has told him so) by the time she’s figured out how to remove it: “I love the man you are today and I will love that man tomorrow, bare forearm or not. I simply wanted you, for once, to have the choice. It’s your body.”

D.) Ooh anon, you are tempting me here. I really hate to be coy, but you might see some future writing on this very topic.

I can at least answer the taboo part: I think soul magic in general (horcruxes, the use of unicorn blood) is quite taboo in the HP universe. As no one knows what happens after death (not even ghosts, Nearly Headless Nick says as much when Harry asks him point-blank in OoTP) I think most magical folk would think the intense ritual (blending magical cores) an unnecessary thing anyway. As Draco explains in chapter 48, since no one actually knows the effects or if it works, it’s considered a bit over-the-top since it’s probably futile anyway. It is also not a Vow with a death component; Narcissa is obviously alive in this story even though Lucius is already dead. I wrote the generational curse protection theory in as a dig at Cursed Child for the way they handled Astoria’s character.

The idea of it I think is romantic, but I will stress it is very dependent upon the intent of the two participants. To quote Draco in chapter 48 again: “To twine one’s soul to another showed a willingness to not only physically tether one’s self during your time here on earth, but to commit to a blending of your magical cores, putting faith in your magic to recognize its bonded counterpart in another life. Should other lives even exist.”

If you re-read Draco’s experience during the bonding ceremony in chapter 51 (starting from this bit: “The cognizance of his own powers never felt sharper, more familiar, but suddenly another power pulsed within to join with his.”) you might find it bears a resemblance to the trajectory of their relationship.

Lastly- I’ve left Draco and Hermione to their wedded bliss. I’ve got nothing planned for them beyond where they are in the final lines of chapter 51. I don’t have that itch to write more into their future because it would feel forced. Draco laid out his two envisioned futures with Hermione in chapter 48 when they discuss having or not having children. They are happy and content in the life they chose together. That’s all I ever wanted for them.

You will see more from this story though. I have an entire series of one-shots and outtakes from the published Remain Nameless timeline that I’ll start posting soon.

overall review of eurovision this year? i can tell you hated moldova and switzerland and said maneskin looks like the type of group to do drugs (which is... weird) but other than that what did you actually like

Finland had some good emo rock song imo. I liked it much more than Italy actully maybe I dont like Italy that much cuz Im bitter that Finland didnt get super high place lol.(Im half finnish so I stand by my finnish emo rock boys)

Lithuania my fellow baltics friend did good performance too this year. I enjoyed their funny performance. If u want some thing funny check Germany and Lithuania. Germany seems kinda like troll entry this year. Lithuanias song was good plus it was funny too kinda.

Speaking of funny DENMARK! they didnt do very good but I loved their song and its catchy af and doesnt take itself too seriously plus if u read the lyrics its a NONSENSE. xd

Hosts this year - absolute ass. My least favorite part about esc this year. Nikkitutorials was there.. yeah but I feel like the hosts didnt make any funny comments and I felt like all the songs came on so so fast cuz there werent really any breaks. My ass had Hard time fully focusing on all songs because of that. I think some people can relate to that. I dont know if I didnt understand the jokes but the host imo didnt have any connection with the audience or viewers. Too many of them anyways to me. I missed Jon Olan Sand too.

Visuals and performances-

very cool and OVERWHELMING. I had at least 3 moments where my head hurted a bit. Could be cuz of the visuals itself being so flashy or just how eyes couldnt catch a break cuz the pauses this year were nonexistant or very very short so for my brain and eyes it was hard to progress. Nothing too Crazy happend on stage tho this time. Giant finger and Greece performance.

Greece performance was pretty cool btw. viusally at least. The song imo was alwful. lol

Voting - AS usual with few suprises. Our estonian host told us in begging of esc that fortune tellers say Italy will win.. and then quess what. So that was kinda boring maybe thats also why I cant seem to like their song. I wish the fortune tellers would be wrong sometime or I wouldnt know but our host Marko Reikop literally always tells us who fortune tellers will think will win so yeah. That always comes AS dissapointment if they are right.

Opinion on Italy : Typical rock stars who happen to bisexual so tumblr and other lgbt communities can pump them up but this time the song happens to be good. Thats what I think please dont take this AS offence but the hype is so overrated like yeah their good and HOT but like we get it.I havent seen this much hype over a winner in a while I dont know why they are so different from every other winner. I just feel like some of this is queerbiting.. idk some thing about lgbt community going so Crazy about bisexual performing is Crazy to me. I just dont get it. IT was good song tho ill give them that but not that much better than other songs in contest.

Over all it was good eurovision imo! I dont rember having this much songs that I liked and saved in my playlist in many years.

I liked the songs and performances I feel like lot of them were high quitaly this year with expection of few countries. The crowd was really seemed to enjoy esc and everyone here on tumblr and on esc reaction communities really seemed in the element! Which made me more hyped and excited to watch esc. IT was very enjoyable event to enjoy with other people from all over the world this year and everyone felt connectef after the pandemic! Thats whats best about it this year imo. Every really seemed to. enjoy themselves and I did too. Eurovision is connecting people and everyone was happy to have it back after last year it didnt happen.!

im going to say right off the bat, i agreed to some of these. some of these i liked. a lot i agreed to because i was afraid to say no because i didnt want to upset them. some were forced on me. some were made without my knowledge. i will not go into specifics on which ships belong in which categories unless its necessary because this post would be extremely long, but please keep this in mind if you see me reacting positively in screenshots.

this screenshot shows me trying to break off all of our ships the first time. i say right down there at the bottom that i want all of them gone. i thought i was being pretty clear.

one of my trolls (kaivin) has a moirail to whom he is extremely attached. this isnt a secret. he is so attached, in fact, that the two share most quads. so anyone kaivin would get into a relationship with, his moirail would as well. ive posted about this many times and i believe its on his bio but dont quote me on that.

this is me trying to cut the ship off again. i really hate being mean and hurting peoples feelings so i was trying stay polite and let them know gently that hey, i dont want this. keep in mind, this took place after me attempting to cut all of our ships off.

So. It’s come to it. I have so many thoughts floating around in my head and I can’t express them enough so looks like we’re doing a big fat post which is fucking stupid anyway.

This whole Dickkory/Dickbabs darma... I’m seeing it in the tags and I’m just... why? I thought people were done with this pathetic ship war stuff. It’s so childish?

So, I’ve only really noticed an influx of this hatred since that anon went on a hate spree to dickkory fans’ inboxes. Otherwise, I don’t really notice anything between dickbabs and dickkory fans. 

Let’s be clear about this - That anon doesn’t represent the entirety of dickbabs fans; they really don’t. From the looks of it, they were just a bully and a troll, intent on causing some drama between the two ships. I doubt they’re even a dickbabs fan for real - and if they are, they are certainly not one that the fans would want to associate themselves with, I imagine.

In response to that, can we all stop the shitty back and forth? That anon (or in some cases not anon for those who were also aware of their username) is a nobody who honestly just wants to be a dick and doesn’t care about the fandom itself. If you’re a dickbabs fan and you’re sticking up for them and the things they have been saying to dickkory fans, you need to reevaluate. Likewise, if you’re a dickkory fan that has been lashing out at dickbabs fans for no other reason than being triggered by that pathetic anon, stop it.

Like chill the fuck out with all this abuse between the two ships; it’s so high school and irrelevant and exhausting. Just stop; don’t be children because it’s just embarrassing. That is to both sides of this.

Which leads me to the next thing - dickbabs and dickkory fans are no better or worse than the other. In both fandoms, you have the bad apples who are honestly just such assholes, even you dislike them. I can tell you right now, there are many dickkory fans in the past that I have blocked because they are so negative and atrocious - they’re just not worth being linked to. 

But, neither fan can turn round and say “my fandom is perfect; no one gives hate” because you’re either just not seeing it or you’re not being truthful. There are crappy, hateful fans in ever corner of fandom - any fandom. 

There will always be a few that ruin it for other fans who simply want to enjoy their ship without any abuse or drama. There will always be the hateful, nasty fans who like to try and tear down their “rival” ship and make the fandom look bad. 

It’s not an individual thing so can we please not act like it is? Dickbabs fans need to stop coming for dickkory fans saying we’re all toxic and vice versa; dickkory fans need to remember that dickbabs fans are not these demons - they are just fans trying to enjoy their ship. 

Everyone just leave each other alone if you don’t have nice things to say.

Just be happy with what you have - Dickkory is clearly a thing going on in Titans and some other forms of media. Dickbabs is going on YJ - Let each other have the media forms. Like, who cares? Just be happy with the content you get - don’t be spiteful and angry and pathetic towards fans who are happy to have their ship in something, regardless of who has had more or whatever. 

The thing I have seen a lot of is this slut shaming as well which isn’t cool. This whole hate on Kory as a character is just not acceptable. Whether you dislike her or not, stay out of Kory related tags and stay away from the actress portraying her in Titans. If you’re sending hate to Anna Diop, you are just such a shitty person. The woman is doing her job; leave her the fuck alone. 

Just because you don’t like the character or you don’t like who has been chosen to play her, does not give you the right to be sending threats and racial slurs towards the actress. I thought that was basic human principals but I guess some are still in the baby stages of learning that one; y’know, how to respect others around them. 

Likewise, I’ve seen some dickkory fans bashing on Babs as a character as well which isn’t fair either. Babs is a wonderful character in her own right and if you don’t like her or you hate on her solely because you dislike dickbabs; get in the damn corner and take a time out. I’m not a huge fangirl of Babs; not for a particular reason, I’m just neither here nor there for her. 

But, you don’t see me going to posts and fanart and fanfics and fans’ inboxes, giving them shit just for liking the character. Each to their own on who they like, who they ship, who they don’t like but stop trying to shove it down other fans’ throats. 

Do not push your opinions and thoughts on characters and ships on people who are fans of what you hate. It’s not fair and honestly just makes you a douchebag. 

A big rule in fandoms which... I really thought some people would have learned by this point - if you don’t like something, scroll past it or blacklist it. If you don’t like a user on this site/fandom or they post stuff you don’t like? That block button is there for a reason. Keep the negative stuff away from your dashboard. 

Don’t start giving people hate and making drama and just being unpleasant when all you need to do it blacklist or block. It’s not difficult. 

The same goes for - if you’re making a hate post or if you’re stating how you don’t like “X ship” - for the love of God, don’t tag it. Don’t be that person. Please.

If you tag stuff that you know if gonna piss off a fan, then you get no sympathy when they come stomping through. You are clearly provoking them with that.

Don’t tag bullshit and don’t do it when you know fans go to the tags to enjoy their ship; not to see it be torn down or spat on. 

Just be respectful and nice?? I don’t know why the select few fans on both sides of Dickkory and Dickbabs find that so damn hard? It’s not.

Both ships are valid and wonderful - accept and embrace this; please. And move on.

I am so sick of seeing spitefulness to each other when at the end of the day, we’re all just trying to enjoy out fictional characters and our ships. No one should be getting harassed or abused over something like that.

Fandom world, for most is supposed to be a haven and people who give shit and hate and make unnecessary drama are the ones who ruin the haven.

I can’t believe I actually have to reiterate to just be nice? It’s a basic human concept. Be nice to others and be respectful of things that whilst you might not like, others do. Accept and move on.

“Come on, it will be fun?” Steve prompted, giving you his best reassuring smile. 

“Nope.” You replied, flopping down onto the couch and picking up the remote. 

“You can’t sit around and mope all day, sweetheart.” He said, with a sigh. 

“Firstly, I’m not moping you giant ass, and secondly I’m allowed to mope even though I am not.” You shot back, pulling a face at him. 

Steve chuckled and took a seat on the couch beside you, “It’s just one test, you’ll be fine.” He said, he was trying to be nice but it really wasn’t helping. You had failed one of the safety tests Tony had you all run as a new recruit that you had trained for, long hours in the gym, all the stress and you still failed. It was bothering you more than it should have because he was right. It was just a test. But you hated failing. 

“Ugh, just go away Steve. Don’t you have something else to do?” You groaned pulling one of the couch throws around you  feeling very sorry for yourself.

“I do but I can hang out if you want me to.” He said. Steve was a sweetheart, since you joined the team a few years back he was nothing but helpful with anything you needed. He said he knew what it was like being new to something and not having anyone to show you the ropes so he valiantly offered his time and skills to you. The two of you instantly became friends, Steve when he wasn’t in Captain America mode was the easiest person to get along with. He was funny, and charming and not as strict as he pretended to be. 

“No no, go do your thing.” You said, waving him off. 

Steve sighed, but he didn’t move from the couch. Instead he fell silent beside you and watched as you flipped through the Netflix selection. As you settled on a movie, Steve suddenly grabbed the remote from you. 

“Come on, we’re going out.” He said getting up and looking at you expectantly. 

“God damn it Rogers, No.” You groaned and tried to grab the remote but Steve holds it out of your reach. 

“One drink and I will let you come home and mope.” He bargained.

“No.” 

“Two drinks?” 

“Steve, no.” 

“Three drinks and a tequila?” 

You sighed he knew how much you loved tequila, “Steve...” 

“I am not taking no for an answer.” He shrugged not giving in. 

“Fine, fuck, you are so annoying!” You grumbled getting off the couch and very dramatically throwing the throw into the air before making your way to your bedroom to get changed.

A few minutes later you emerged from your bedroom wearing shorts, a sweatshirt. You threw on some sneakers and didn’t bother fixing your hair because well you weren’t in the mood to gussy up. 

Steve noted your appearance but doesn’t say anything. He had changed his grey t-shirt and was now wearing a crisp pale blue shirt, 

“Oh god, why are you dressed so nicely. I look like a troll doll next to you!” You groaned when you saw his appearance. 

He laughed at your comment, “You look great, prettiest troll doll I have ever seen.” He said, a smile on his face. 

“Dumbass.” was all you said, before you followed him out of the living room. 

Steve drove, he didn’t tell you where he was taking you and you didn’t ask. Instead you turned up the stereo in the car and sand your heart out to every song that came over the selection. Forcing Steve to partake in your impromptu car karaoke. 

“Oooh this is my favorite song!” You exclaimed excitedly turning the volume up once more as the next song popped up. 

“You said that about the last four songs!” Steve laughed,

“I have a lot of favorite songs, Steven.” 

He doesn’t say anything, he just laughs and shakes his head. Letting you go back to singing your heart out. 

When you arrived at the place he wanted to have drinks at, it wasn’t anything you were expecting. Instead it was kind of fancy, and looked like a speakeasy from the forty’s. It was gorgeously decorated in fairy lights with rustic themes. getting out of the car, you felt under dressed as the valet came and collected the car keys from Steve and the hostess smiled at him when the two of you approached her. 

“Welcome back Captain Rogers.” She greeted him with a wide smile, her gaze flitting to you beside him for a second. 

“Ma’am.” He nodded at her. 

“The usual?” She asked knowingly, as she led the two of you into the restaurant. The inside was even more gorgeous than the outside, dim lights, soft piano keys floated through the air, candle lit tables. You turned to Steve with a questioning look on your face. He doesn’t say anything, just gives you a smile and gestures you towards the table outside on he terrace. 

Once the two of you were seated, you looked around at the other patrons who were all dressed like Steve, appropriately for this space. You were absentmindedly pulling at the sleeves of your sweater when Steve interrupted your thoughts. 

“What do you want to drink? They have really good beer here and Sam likes the margaritas, I know that’s your favorite.” He said, looking at you. 

“Oh uh...surprise me?” You replied with a shrug. You were wholly confused by why Steve would bring you to such a place. This seemed very date like. 

He smiled at you, and then ordered for you. 

“So, feeling better?” He asked. 

“A little.” You admitted, because you were. the car ride over with him had really picked up your mood. 

“Well a few drinks in you and you’ll be good as new.” he joked. 

“That’s true.” You laughed. 

You noticed that he kept nervously fidgeting with the collar to his shirt for some reason. You had no idea why he was nervous, but it suddenly made you nervous and all sorts of thoughts began running through your head. What if he brought you here to tell you that you cant be a member of the team because you failed? Or that they were kicking you out and suddenly your thoughts were spiraling. 

There was an awkward silence between the two of you that never happened. When the waitress returned with your drinks, both of you eagerly thanked her and you practically downed yours. 

“So why...”

“I need to te...”

Both of you spoke in unison. 

“Sorry you go first.” Steve said with a nervous chuckle. 

“So why did you bring me here?” You asked, setting your drink down. 

“I thought you would like it.” he replied, nervously clearing his throat. “Do you not like this place? we can go else where?” 

“No, no I love it. It’s just that you could have told me so that I wouldn’t have dressed like a ragamuffin.” You laughed. This made him laugh too and it seemed to set him at ease. 

“I wanted you to be comfortable.” He shrugged. 

“Yeah but you know my comfort is being a hobo and stuffing my face.” 

‘I think it’s cute.” Steve mumbled, a sudden blush in his cheeks. 

“What?” You laughed, finding the idea that he remotely found you cute in anyway ludicrous. 

Steve shrugged and grinned at you, “Give yourself more credit, you are beautiful the way you are.” 

“Oh please, who is paying you to say all this? Did Sam and Bucky put you up to this? Are they here somewhere?” You asked looking around the restaurant, trying to find those two idiots. 

“No, they didn’t. Just take a compliment.” Steve chuckled. 

“Well in that case, you are very pretty too Steve.” You said, winking at him. And once again that blush appeared in his cheeks. He was a mumbling, stumbling fool and it was the best thing you had ever seen. 

As the evening went on, the two of you sat at that table drinking and eating. It was weird because it felt like a date, the way Steve spoke and how he accidentally kept touching your hand and when the waited asked if you wanted dessert Steve said yes and ordered ice cream and champagne for the two of you to share. You tried not to let your thoughts take over too much because you knew Steve never saw this as anything more than him doing something nice for his teammate, so you just let yourself enjoy the evening.

By the end of the night you were deliciously tipsy and giddy. Steve steadied you with an arm around you shoulders as he led you out of the restaurant, to the car. Thanking the hostess with a polite nod and a smile as he walked you passed her.  

“Good luck” she mouthed to him and you saw this, which confused you even more. What did he need luck for. 

“You know what we should do?” You said, your tispy state of mind jumping from one thought to the next.

“What should we do?” Steve asked gently, as he gripping you a little tighter when you stumbled again. 

“We should go to the old tower and climb to the room and tell everyone we’re Avengers!” 

Steve laughed, “That would be breaking an entering, sweetheart.” 

The way he said sweetheart made your hear suddenly flip in your chest, and you stopped walking. He stopped as well, and looked down at you quizzically. 

“Steve...” You said softly, your heart racing as you looked into those cerulean blue eyes of his.

“Yes?” 

“What was this?” 

“What was what?” He returned your question with a question. 

“Tonight? was this ...” You paused, unsure if you should ruin the night because if this wasn’t a date you’d feel like an absolute ass. “Was this a date?” 

Steve was quiet for a moment and then suddenly without hesitation, he brought his lips to  yours, kissing you softly. His lips tasted like the chocolate and champagne the two of you had just a few minutes earlier. 

Your eyes widened the moment his lips touched yours, and then you closed them. Letting  yourself take in this blissfully sweet moment, the way he held your body to his, his hand at the back of your head the other around your waist. It was like the world around the two of you had stilled, and when he finally broke the kiss it and you opened your eyes, Steve Rogers was all you saw, like some kind of tunnel vision. 

“To answer you question? Yes.” He murmured, a small smile on his lips. 

“I...” You were at a loss for words, Steve had quite literally left you breathless in that moment.

Why I still think it’s happening and the other thing isn’t

DISCLAIMER: This post is in NO WAY telling people, or even asking people to have hope for Caryl. Absolutely not. Frankly, right now I’d stop people on the street and tell them NOT to ship Caryl if they can possibly help it. This post is ONLY telling those who are interested why I still think Caryl might happen, and largely why I don’t think CQzekiel is happening. I am writing it only because every time something new happens (or doesn’t) I get anons and msgs asking me my thoughts, and why I still hang on.

Truthfully, a lot of why I still hang on is simply just the way my brain works. It’s an eternal Pollyanna, just think of my brain like Bob’s game with Sasha. Whenever something potentially negative happens, I get irritated, despondent and then about 20 mins I’m going “yeah but what if?.... maybe this is setting up...” I CAN’T HELP IT. As long is there is a chink of light (in this case Carol and Daryl both alive) then I will find a way to shape things to fit what I want to happen.

Anyway, what I’m saying is don’t be hopeful, I don’t know if I’m right. I don’t know if I’m deluded. I’m just saying THIS is what I am tihnking.

So, here is the break-down of the whys:

1) The Caryl promo stuff - I know a lot of people think it's just trolling to get Carylers watching, with no plans to actually carry it out. I personally don't buy that, simply because there's stupid and then there is career suicide. I firmly don't believe that AMC is so idiotic as to repeatedly hype and promote a relationship (Even tweeting about it 2 days ago) with full knowledge that the show will do the exact opposite, in terms of giving those fans what they want. When you are desperate to get fans back on board - and believe me AMC are - you don't  deliberately do the one thing guaranteed to send all those fans packing, fans that you just spent money bringing on board. You just don't. Anyone with a brain knows it won't just put them off, it will guarantee they will never watch again. AMC wants Carylers to watch, yes  so they dangle the carrot - but they also want them to keep watching. And they know that won't happen if the other ship happens at the same time they are teasing Caryl.

2) Melissa. While we are all justified in not trusting AMC at all, and in believing Norman;s words are as sound as a chocolate teapot, the one thing I think we can rely on is Melissa. Melissa doesn't troll or tease. And Melissa has been consistent. She has never said anything to indicate Carol is set for romance with Zeke. Also, at the premiere she said - off her own back - that Carol is closest to Daryl. It seems unlikely she’d be saying that, reinforcing the idea of Daryl as the man dearest to Carol’s heart, if she was currently filming Carol undertaking a romantic relationship with someone else.

Melissa also gave us an abundance of Caryl titbits on Twitter last week. Now maybe she was told to do I by AMC marketing- in which case, see reason 1. Or maybe she did it herself, which again shows she a) knows what the majority of fans want and b) is reinforcing and reminding people of the Caryl bond and relationship - which i just cant see her doing if the show is about to be all about Carol and another man romantically.  To me, its just not Melissa’s way.

3) Khary. Three times now Khary has been asked about the chance of a Carol an Ezekiel romantic relationship, and three times he’s said “I don’t think it’s going to happen”

“I hope to see the relationship between Carol and Ezekiel flourish,” Khary told us on the red carpet, adding, “I am not sure that we will see it.” Well, that got upsetting pretty quickly, huh?

He is very clear, he doesn’t think it’s going to happen. Also, in the summer he repeatedly gave the answer that he honestly didn’t know. Now he’s saying exclusively that he doesn’t think we’ll see it. His answers are very different to Norman’s (usually dreadful) answers about Caryl, which always say he’s not ruled it out. Khary, on the other hand, has.

3) The telling of the comic story. It is very clear that they ARE giving Carol much of Michonne’s comic story with Ezekiel. But much like the Morgan and Tyreese stories, they are tweaking them and changing the dynamic.

It’s key to note that in the scene of Ezekiel revealling his true self to Carol, back in The Well, they didn’t include the overtly romantic parts of the scene from the comics (where Ezekiel says Michonne is exceedingly cute). And more significantly, in season 8, they have skipped over the window where Ezekiel and Michonne get together.

In the comics, Ezekiel and Michonne begin their relationship the night of the fight at ASZ that sends Negan packing to declare war. The next time we see them interact is after Shiva dies, when Ezekiel is despondent and Michonne punches him and calls him a pussy.

As we have seen, TPTB skipped over that relationship beginning with Carol and Ezekiel, and spoilers show that it is likely we’re about to get the Shiva death despondency. So we’re going straight from the beginning friendship to the antagonistic part of the relationship - and yes, I think that’s how the relationship is going to play out in the near future.

I don’t think we’re going to see Carol punch Ezekiel and call him a pussy… BUT the scenes of Carol being irritated by Ezekiel’s confidence and the specific dialogue from Ezekiel of “fake it till you make it, baby”, is a very direct set up for the dialogue in the punch scene. Michonne says to Ezekiel “If you’re really this much of a pussy, do what you do best… act like you aren’t.”

The fake it dialogue shows that Carol is going to bring back Ezekiel’s own words to him when he’s feeling lost and useless after everyone’s deaths. This is also reinforced by all Gimple has said about Carol and Ezekiel’s relationship - saying he looks foolish to Carol; his words about their relationship at the start of the season: “There are some intense times ahead for Ezekiel,” Gimple said. “Carol is not going to be surprised about the difficulty and brutality that they’re facing. Ezekiel is a little more new to this. The contrast [between the two] will be pretty stark.” showing how different their view points are going to be. And even Melissa’s words today, “She understands that, so if she has any reservations, I don't think she's putting it all out on the table. As long as they're heading forward and going to the battle to try to win this war, he can have his optimism.” Shows that conflict is headed their way - Carol is happy to let Ezekiel have his act and what not as long as they are moving forwards with the plan, but he’s about to go to pieces and stall, which means Carol isn’t going to be happy and will “put it all out on the table”.

Gimple and co have made clear Carol and Ezekiel are in VERY different places emotionally when it comes to battle, and while I suspect Carol will be far more understanding than comic Michonne, the above quotes show she’s not going to mollycoddle Ezekiel as a leader, suggesting she is going to be telling him he needs to “king up” and fake it for the good of his people.

Ezekiel is playing emotional catch up, Carol being aggravated by his failing as a leader, and Ezekiel’s feelings of impotence and depression are not conducive to the beginning of a romantic relationship. Kirkman knew that, which is why he had Michonne and Ezekiel get together at a happy positive point in the story BEFORE this would test their connection. Gimple and co have chosen NOT to give Carol and Ezekiel that bond before the conflict comes into play.

And also interestingly, notice that at THAT point in the story when they could have had Ezekiel and Carol get together, in 8x01, what did they give us? A Caryl hug and focus on their relationship that they promo-ed the life out of.

So I saw your voltron frozen au and you mentioned that Hans turning evil doesn't make sense, and here's a theory for that: in fixer upper when the trolls find out about Anna's engagement they sing "get the fiance out of the way and the whole thing will be fixed!" and trolls (as shown in the beginning of the movie) have magical abilities, so what's stopping them from giving Hans an ulterior motive to marrying Anna! Just a summary of the theory, but there you go!

Posting random characters who may or may not have autism helps no one. It's a misrepresentation of the disorder, it gives people false hope that one of these character will be relatable for them, and it's disrespectful to the authors whose creations you are judging and changing. You wouldn't start something like this about celebrities– don't our fiction friends deserve the same respect?

I was debating on whether or not to even deign to answer this ask but I decided that I’m in a fairly good mood rather than an apathetic one so I hope you enjoy!

There will be no TL;DR because if you’re going to send asks like this, then you are going to READ.

“Posting random characters who may or may not have autism helps no one.” To assume this, you think that I’M solely the one posting them? Lemme tell you that there are over 70 characters currently in my ask box that I haven’t had the spoons to get to. Here’s a screenshot:

I don’t post these. Autistic people do. I just queue them. I’m merely the proxy for these people.

I have well over 1000 followers by now, almost all of which are autistic or suspecting they are. So to say that it doesn’t help anyone is false. It helps the people of the autistic community - and at times it even helps the people of the allistic (non-autistic) community.

I’ve gotten asks from allistics who follow saying that they love this blog because it helps fight their internalized ableism. I’ve also gotten asks from autistic people saying how much they love it because they love characters to relate to. It’s not a matter of “false hope” and wishing a character is autistic, but it’s more or less wanting to find characters in media to relate to. Those bold things are links btw please read them if you really don’t believe that it doesn’t help people.

Along with that, blogs like this do help because it gives people a chance to be able to show off their headcanons in a safe and anonymous way without the fear of getting death threats. Do you know how many autistic people get death threats for merely existing let alone showing their headcanons regarding autism? Tons. I know I get death threats on my main all the time for merely being autistic.

And yet, allistic people love when people throw gender and sexuality headcanons onto characters (especially to either ship or to fetishize - two different things I want to make that clear). So why can’t we autistic people do it for something that’s completely harmless and just for wanting to relate to characters?

So yeah it does help us. It helps both autistic and allistic (non-autistic) people.

It isn’t misrepresentation of the disorder at all when you have autistic people submitting these characters that they (AS AUTISTIC PEOPLE) relate to. Sometimes they even give full detailed paragraphs of explanations as to why the character can possibly be autistic.

It’s not misrepresentation for a minority to want to represent their respective group.

It WOULD, however, be misrepresentation if I and everyone submitting these characters were not autistic. However, 99% of my followers are autistic so yeah sorry but it’s not “misrepresentation” for minorities to want to represent their own fucking group. Anyways, moving on…
