Please read below more Information about Sikh Kara: A kara (Punjabi: ਕੜਾ (Gurmukhi), کڑا (Shahmukhi) कड़ा (Devanagari)), is a steel or iron (sarb loh) bracelet, worn by all initiated Sikhs. It is one of the five kakars or 5Ks — external articles of faith — that identify a Sikh as dedicated to their religious order. The kara was instituted by the tenth Sikh guru Gobind Singh at the Baisakhi Amrit Sanskar in 1699. Guru Gobind Singh Ji explained:He does not recognize anyone else except me, not even the bestowal of charities, performance of merciful acts, austerities and restraint on pilgrim-stations; the perfect light of the Lord illuminates his heart, then consider him as the immaculate Khalsa.—[1]The kara is to constantly remind the Sikh disciple to do God's work, a constant reminder of the Sikh's mission on this earth and that he or she must carry out righteous and true deeds and actions, keeping with the advice given by the Guru. The Kara is a symbol of unbreakable attachment and commitment to God.[2] It is in the shape of a circle which has no beginning and no end, like the eternal nature of God. It is also a symbol of the Sikh brotherhood. As the Sikhs' holy text the Guru Granth Sahib says "In the tenth month, you were made into a human being, O my merchant friend, and you were given your allotted time to perform good deeds."[3] Similarly, Bhagat Kabir reminds the Sikh to always keep one's consciousness with God: "With your hands and feet, do all your work, but let your consciousness remain with the Immaculate Lord."[4]The basic kara is a simple unadorned steel bracelet, but other forms exist. It was historically used like a knuckle-duster for hand-to-hand combat. Battlefield variations include kara with spikes or sharp edges. Sikh soldiers of the British Indian army would settle disputes by competing in a form of boxing known as loh-musti (lit. iron fist) with a kara on one hand. Brilliant finish and very decorative. A Love That Holds Us on Our Worst Days “Your worst days are never so bad that you are beyond the reach of God’s grace. And your best days are never so good that you are beyond the need of God’s grace.”— Jerry Bridges These words from Jerry Bridges have resonated with me for years. They speak to the essence of what it means to live under the transforming power of God’s grace. When I first encountered this truth, it was like a lifeline cutting through the fog of performance-based Christianity—a Christianity that left me exhausted and burdened, swinging between pride on my “good days” and despair on my “bad days.” Breaking Free from the “Good Day, Bad Day” Cycle For years, I measured God’s love for me based on my performance. If I had my devotions, avoided sin, and made “godly” decisions, I assumed God’s favor was mine to enjoy. But on the days when I failed—whether through a sharp word, a missed prayer time, or a selfish attitude—I felt as though I had forfeited His love. This toxic mindset kept me in a cycle of striving and shame, attempting to earn what God had freely given in Christ. Have you ever found yourself living this way—measuring God’s acceptance of you by the scales of your own performance? It’s an unbearable weight, but thankfully, it’s a burden we were never meant to carry. Grace That Meets Us Where We Are Jerry Bridges’s book The Discipline of Grace helped dismantle my flawed thinking. His powerful reminder that even my best efforts fall short of God’s perfect standard was both humbling and freeing. The truth is, no amount of personal discipline or spiritual success can earn God’s love, because His love is rooted in Christ’s finished work, not our own. On our worst days, we are not banished to the doghouse of God’s disappointment. Instead, we are invited to the Father’s house of grace, where redemption and restoration await. Even when God disciplines us, it is always in love, designed to transform us rather than condemn us (Hebrews 12:10–11). Jesus: More Than a Model, Our Substitute Understanding grace starts with understanding our need. God’s law demands perfect righteousness, a standard we could never meet. That’s why Jesus didn’t come to merely give us another chance—He came to fulfill the law on our behalf. Jesus lived the life we could not live and died the death we deserved. His obedience becomes our righteousness (Romans 8:3–4), and His sacrifice fully satisfies God’s justice. Grace, therefore, is not a second chance—it is the ultimate exchange: our sin for His perfection, our failure for His victory. Four Life-Changing Realities of God’s Grace As I reflect on Jerry Bridges’s quote, these are four truths about grace that have profoundly shaped my walk with Christ: - God’s love for us is rooted in Christ, not our performance.God doesn’t love us because we act like Christ; He loves us because we are in Christ (Romans 8:1). His love is unchanging, unwavering, and complete. - Grace is not a concept; it’s a person.Grace has a name—Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 8:9). To be in need of grace is to be held in the unbreakable grip of His love (John 10:28). Our faith is not about what we do for God but about being amazed by what He has done for us (1 Corinthians 1:30). - Grace frees us from earning but empowers our effort. While grace ends the exhausting pursuit of earning God’s favor (Ephesians 2:8), it also fuels a new pursuit: living in the freedom of obedience motivated by love, not guilt (Philippians 2:12–13). - Grace transforms, not excuses.True grace doesn’t lead to laziness or license. It compels us to pursue holiness, not to earn God’s love, but because we have been so loved (2 Corinthians 3:18). Pursuing Holiness in the Grip of Grace God’s grace doesn’t leave us in our sin—it changes us from the inside out. It gives us both the desire and the power to live for His glory. We hate the sin that sent Jesus to the cross and long to see His beauty reflected in our lives. On our worst days, grace reminds us that we are secure in Christ. On our best days, grace humbles us, showing us that even our best is a gift from God. This kind of love doesn’t just sustain us—it transforms us. So, let’s reject the “good day, bad day” mentality and rest in the truth of the gospel: God’s love is stronger than our worst days and deeper than our darkest failures. Reflection and Application Questions - Grace in Your Life: How does the truth that God’s love for you is rooted in Christ, not your performance, challenge or encourage you? - Good Day, Bad Day Mentality: In what ways have you fallen into the “good day, bad day” mentality? How can understanding God’s grace help you break free from this mindset? - Jesus as Your Substitute: Reflect on how Jesus’s obedience and sacrifice have changed your relationship with God. How does this truth impact the way you approach your worst days? - Empowered by Grace: Grace frees us from earning but empowers effort. What is one area of your life where you need to shift from striving to resting in God’s grace while still pursuing holiness? - Transforming Grace: How does the transforming power of grace motivate you to pursue holiness, not out of guilt, but out of gratitude and love? - Sharing Grace: Who in your life needs to hear the message of God’s grace? Toy Making Bench
What this mod gives you?
This mod will bring back a memory from the past, an exciting functional object from the time of Sims 2 - the Toy Making Bench, improved and optimized with a custom skill, a bunch of different craftables, and different ways to sell your products!
Functional Object
You can find Toy Making Bench by typing 'Toy Making' in the search bar or under indoor activities/hobbies/ activities (creative).
It costs 725$
And it comes in 2 colors (recolors allowed, do NOT include the mesh).
Interactions on the bench
You can craft different toys or admire the newly-bought bench. The bench is working Off-The-Grid and it's unbreakable.
Custom Skill
Brand new skill - Toy Making, it includes 10 levels, and it is gained by reading skill books (can be bought from the bookshelf or computer) and crafting items on the Toy Making Bench.
At level 5 of the skill, a new interaction is unlocked on the products - Sell To Toys Collector.
At level 10, another interaction is unlocked Sell To Toys Store.
Another specifics includes custom skill icon, and has custom thought bubbles when reading the skill books. The crafting animations are the same from the woodworking table. (Mirai told me that in the Sims 2 the animation was close to this one so I kept it, since I wasn't sure what other would fit this type of crafting).
If you have get together, toy making is also a Club Activity option, and if you have Seasons, there are also holidays.
With each skill level more and more craftables are unlocked on the station.
Custom preference - your Sim can have a preference towards toy making, you can choose it in Create-A-Sim under Hobby category, or leave the faith to decide.
Craftable Items
There are 40 different craftables!
Which are mixture of my own designs, sims 4 existing toys, sims 2 and sims 3 conversions and a few bought designs from Sketchfab.
12 of the toys require pandasama's tuning, so make sure to download their toys, if you don't have them already (at the bottom of the page chewck the reference)!
Each craftable require certain level of skill and an optional ingredient to be produced.
Cottage Living Wool, My Cotton Yarns, or Mirai's Logs
Craftables:
L1: Small wooden toys
L2: Colored wooden toys
L3: Woven toys
L4: Plush toys
L5: Hanoi Tower, Teddy Bear
L6: Small Dollhouse
L7: Commersial Toys
L8: Play Phone, Xylophones and Drums (use the xylophone tuning)
L9: Rocking Horses, Toy Kitchen and Large Dollhouse
L10: Spring Horses
Once your Sim finish crafting the objects will directly go in your Sim's inventory, the ones that require pandasama's tuning will be found in the household inventory. Then you can drag them and place them wherever you want. You can enlist the products on Plopsy (except the ones that require pandasama's tuning), sell them through my custom interactions (added a script to be able to sell the toys that require pandasama's tuning as well, note that the option to sell will show up on all items that contain this tuning, not only the items from the crafting station, since the interaction is injected in the tuning id, not in the objects itself) or decorate your child sim room. All toys are still fully functional, so children can still play with them.
REQUIREMENTS:
BASE GAME
Pandasama's rocking horse, telephone, xylophone and rock-a-stack, play kitchen
KNOWN ISSUE:
The large plush bear can not be placed inside the lot, I literally tried everything to lift the toy as far as possible from the ground, but it still says it inserts the floor or ceiling, you need to use bb.moveobjects on to place it in the house.
DOWNLOAD (Early Access)
Relase to Official Patrons: 18th of July
Release to Public: 28th of July

5e Mordekaiser, the Iron Revenant build (League of Legends)
(Artwork made for Riot Games.)
K-POP IS TEMPORARY; IRON STANDS ETERNAL!
Guess I just don’t really want to make nothing but K-Pop builds. Been playing Morde a lot and he’s fun, and Morde in D&D is actually a build I’ve been thinking about for awhile. I don’t have to use Tasha’s content either for this build so I figured I’d make something other than eGirls in anticipation for Pentakill’s comeback album.
Please for the love of god give us a new Pentakill Mordekaiser skin, and actually turn his mace into a guitar!
GOALS
Shed the frailty of flesh; embrace the cold edge of iron - The iron revenant needs iron, with a giant mace and armor that can block even the strongest sword. For iron stands eternal.
In my clutches! - Those who try to flee will be brought back by Death’s Grasp. There is no escaping fate.
Accept your demise - Tired of your foes running? Bring them to a Realm of Death where they’ll have to fight.
RACE
I know that Mordekaiser is technically a revenant but in my continued attempts to make my builds “Adventurer’s League legal” while not using Adventurer’s League rules we’re going to go with a Warforged, because of course we’d pick the race made of metal. As a Warforged your Constitution increases by 2 and you can increase another stat of your choice by 1: bump up your Charisma to be just a little bit scarier.
As iron stands eternal you have Constructed Resilience for advantage against being poisoned, resistance to the poisoned condition, immunity to disease, and no need to eat, drink, or breathe. You also don’t need to sleep and can’t be put to sleep by magic: instead to sleep you enter a Sentry’s Rest, where you stand motionless for hours but are still fully aware of your surroundings.
But most importantly to resist all blows you have Integrated Protection. It flat out increases your AC by 1, and also makes it so that instead of “wearing” armor you integrate it into your body. While the armor is integrated into you it can’t be removed by any means.
Finally you have Specialized Design for a skill, tool, and language of your choice. For your skill I opted for Performance to show that you’re the chosen: you are the guardian, the guardian. (But feel free to take something more practical.) For your tool a Lute is the closest you’ll get to a guitar to lead a Yordle city destroying band. And for your language choose whatever you think the spirits of the dead would speak: I opted for Abyssal personally. Definitely not because Abyssal is the first option alphabetically.
ABILITY SCORES
15; STRENGTH - Iron stands eternal, and iron is heavy.
14; WISDOM - Morde speaks in very sagely ways, and this is a rather big requirement for one of our classes.
13; CHARISMA - Charisma is tied directly to being the scariest revenant around, and indirectly tied to kick-ass guitar solos.
12; CONSTITUTION - Twice slain and thrice reborn doesn’t happen if you’re not a sturdy fella.
10; INTELLIGENCE - Being alive for eons means that you would know a thing or two about history.
8; DEXTERITY - Iron stands eternal, and iron is heavy.
BACKGROUND
There’s a lot of potential backgrounds for Mordekaiser (I honestly really like the Knight background because Retainers are fun) but the most accurate one for abilities and lore would be a Soldier. You gain proficiency in Athletics but I’m going to suggest swapping Intimidation out for History proficiency, since you’re an ancient being who was around for many wars. You also gain proficiency with land vehicles and a gaming set of your choice, both of which don’t matter much: see if you can maybe grab another metal instrument instead.
Your background with a Military Rank means that your followers recognize you as their general (or possibly a lower rank if your DM isn’t a fan of OP level 1 backstories.) They defer to you if they are of lower rank, and you can use your military influence to requisition supplies as needed.
(Artwork made for Riot Games.)
THE BUILD
LEVEL 1 - PALADIN 1
An oath sworn to death is still an oath. Paladins get proficiency in two skills from the Paladin list: this is where we’ll actually be grabbing Intimidation, and we’ll also take Religion. Yeah turns out that Morde’s obsession with death is actually a religion.
Regardless Paladins at level 1 have Divine Sense. You can spend an action to sense any celestial, fiend, or undead within 60 feet of you that is not behind total cover. You know the type of being but not its identity, and you can also use this ability to determine if an area has been consecrated or desecrated. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier plus one, and regain all uses at the end of a Long Rest.
You also have some healing for your Indestructible body with Lay on Hands. You have a pool of healing power equal to five times your Paladin level that you can spend to heal anyone you touch (including yourself.) You can spend any number of your remaining hitpoints on the heal, or you can spend 5 hitpoints to cure a disease or neutralize a poison. You can stop multiple poisons and diseases at a time (spending 5 hitpoints for each) but seeing as iron resists poison and disease you should be fine. Your puny allies however may need the help.
Now may also be a good time to mention what weapons and armor to take. For a giant two-handed mace take a Maul, and for heavy armor take heavy armor. For now that will just be Chainmail (granted by default with Paladin starting equipment) but you can transition to Platemail in the future hopefully.
LEVEL 2 - PALADIN 2
Second level Paladins get to choose their Fighting Style to augment their non-abilities. To be completely unbreakable take Defense for another +1 to your AC.
You also get access to Spellcasting. You can prepare a number of spells equal to your Charisma modifier plus half your Paladin level (rounded down.) The main spell we’re here for is Compelled Duel to force foes to face you and make it a lot harder for them to fight. It’s not a full 1v1 dimension but it works pretty well. Other than that if you want some Nashor’s Tooth damage Divine Favor will make your strikes a lot more painful, and if you want even more defense Shield of Faith will block any blow that may come your way.
Of course you can ignore all this and Obliterate your foes with Divine Smite, spending a spell slot and turning into magic Radiant damage. A smite with do 2d8 for a first level slot plus an additional d8 per slot above first, up to a maximum of 5d8 with a 4th level slot. If you hit an undead or fiend however the damage increases by another d8, for a maximum of 6d8.
LEVEL 3 - PALADIN 3
Third level Paladins get Divine Health which literally doesn’t impact you since you’re a Warforged, so instead we’ll talk about your Sacred Oath. As fun and flavorful as an Oathbreaker would be that subclass is kinda... bad? So instead look to the Oath of Conquest to shatter your foes!
You get the Armor of Agathys spell for some Thornmail, and the Command spell for Death’s Grasp. Telling someone to approach doesn’t have the same impact as grabbing them with a spooky ghost claw but it works just as well. You also get two Channel Divinity options. Conquering Presence will make everyone near you frightened, and Guided Strike will let you add +10 to an attack roll which will guarantee that you’ll hit in most if not all situations.
LEVEL 4 - PALADIN 4
4th level Paladins get an Ability Score Improvement: seeing as our Strength is uneven we can take a Feat like Heavy Armor Master, increasing our Strength by 1 and making it so that our foes’ puny non-magical weapons bounce off us like nothing.
You can also prepare another spell but we’re going to wait a bit on that.
LEVEL 5 - PALADIN 5
5th level Paladins get an Extra Attack, giving you enough attack speed to swing Nightfall twice before your opponent starts to run.
You also get access to second level spells. Oath of Conquest gives you Hold Person to keep your foes in place and Spiritual Weapon for a ghostly soldier to fight alongside you. You can also prepare a spell like Aid to further boost your health, making it even harder to slay you once more.
(Artwork made for Riot Games.)
LEVEL 6 - CLERIC 1
Despite being a big metal man Mordekaiser is an AP champ, but he also hits people quite a lot with his mace. Hence we’re going into the AP class that also hits people with a mace. Now you may think that we’d want to go into Death Cleric for a revenant... THAT’S WHERE YOU’RE WRONG FOOLISH MORTAL! IRON STANDS ETERNAL! FORGE DOMAIN! At level 1 you get Blessing of the Forge allowing you to turn a weapon or piece of armor into a magical +1 weapon or armor. My tip? More armor. Iron stands eternal.
As a Cleric you also get Spellcasting that relies on your Wisdom instead of your Charisma. You also actually get cantrips! You are the master of death and you choose when people die, so take Spare the Dying to make them not die. To make sure your subjects hear your words Thaumaturgy will let all hear you. And just because Mordekaiser is a melee champ doesn’t mean you can’t have a ranged damage option, so take Toll the Dead so none can escape what comes for all.
Check page something-or-other to see how many spell slots you have, but what’s important to know is that you can prepare a number of spells equal to your Wisdom modifier plus your Cleric level. As a Forge Cleric you also get Identity to find the perfect weapon, and Searing Smite to seal your foes away with Nightfall’s Kiss. To keep usurpers away Protection from Good and Evil will make it nye-impossible for them to harm you, and to command your allies as an army Bless will strengthen their weapons and resolve. Other than that? I mean someone should probably have Detect Magic. Truthfully there isn’t much we need from first level spells.
LEVEL 7 - CLERIC 2
Second level Clerics get Channel Divinity options that use the same Channel Divinity charges that your Paladin Channel Divinity uses. Luckily these ones are a little more situational: Turn Undead lets you... turn undead. (Please just read the ability’s description as I’m sick of explaining it in every Cleric build I make.) Artisan's Blessing meanwhile lets you craft something from eternal iron... or whatever other metal you may have. The cost can’t exceed 100 gold, but you can arm your soldiers with weapons and armor... within reason.
You can also prepare another spell but we’re going to wait for...
LEVEL 8 - CLERIC 3
Third level Clerics can prepare second level spells. As a Forge Cleric you have Heat Metal innately prepared, as well as Magic Weapon. This is why I suggested you use your Blessings of the Forge on your armor, because Magic Weapon will let you improve Nightfall. And Heat Metal is surprisingly one of the best spells to counter you, so good thing you have it in your arsenal.
Speaking of arsenal: for the power to carry all that iron Enhance Ability will make you the perfect being for anything you may wish to do. Warding Bond is perhaps not as useful for you, but strengthening your allies strengthens you through relation.
LEVEL 9 - CLERIC 4
4th level means more Ability Score Improvements. Strength is tied to just about everything we do currently (and is notably needed if we want Platemail) so increase that by 2, making Nightfall all the deadlier.
You could also prepare another spell but there isn’t much to take from second level either, so it would be good to wait for third level spells. You do get another cantrip though and even the strongest warriors can use some otherworldly aid, so take Guidance for that aid.
(Artwork made for Riot Games.)
LEVEL 10 - CLERIC 5
5th level Clerics can Destroy Undead of CR 1/2 with their Turn Undead Channel Divinity. Perhaps it’s odd for a revenant to destroy undead, but I’d rule it as culling the weak.
But more importantly you can prepare third level spells! Forge Clerics get Elemental Weapon for an upgrade to Magic Weapon, and Protection from Energy for an Adaptive Helm. May you rest in peace in Season 11. We’ve yet to get our passive yet, so to make Darkness Rise take Spirit Guardians to damage foes near you. And you know what we don’t have a lot of as an undead revenant? Undead minions. Animate Dead will bring forth your legion, so they can’t bring you down easily.
LEVEL 11 - CLERIC 6
6th level Clerics can use their Channel Divinity twice per Short or Long Rest, which is nice because this also affects your Paladin Channel Divinities. Additionally Forge Clerics get the Soul of the Forge for resistance to Fire damage and EVEN. MORE. AC!
And you can prepare more spells! Want to keep your domain safe? Glyph of Warding will deter anyone trying to stop you before you can awaken again.
LEVEL 12 - CLERIC 7
Level 7 in Cleric? Level 4 in spells. Forge Clerics get Fabricate to craft tools of war. But more importantly you can stop people from interrupting your 1v1s with a Wall of Fire! People can still butt in, but being surrounded by flames definitely makes it harder!
Additionally you can grab Death Ward, to stop anything from taking you down... at first. You may crack iron, but you can never break it.
LEVEL 13 - CLERIC 8
Level 8 gives another Ability Score Improvement which means it’s finally time to max out your Strength! This is great because you now also have Divine Strike to make Nightfall do an additional d8 of Fire damage on hit!
And how about more spells? Banishment is like your ultimate but you can’t join them in the Death Realm. And without you there isn’t much death. It’s honestly fairly harmless. But at least if they don’t belong in this realm you can hopefully lock them away for good.
Oh and your Turn Undead now can Destroy Undead of CR 1 or lower. So mind your minions.
(Artwork by Teddy Tarnando.)
LEVEL 14 - CLERIC 9
Who likes 5th level spells? As a Forge Cleric you know Animate Objects to bring unholy life to iron, and Creation to create said iron. For a burst of darkness that does Radiant damage Flame Strike is a good tool to level any battlefield.
LEVEL 15 - CLERIC 10
10th level Clerics may be blessed with Divine Intervention. You may pray to the god of death (or I guess the god of the forge too) for assistance before rolling on a percentile die. If you roll a number equal to or lower than your Cleric level, the gods intervene. If you receive aid you can’t use this ability for 7 days. If you aren’t heard the ability comes back on a Long Rest.
You know what else comes back after a Long Rest? Spell slots. You know what doesn’t come back after a Long Rest (normally)? The dead. So grab Raise Dead to bring the dead after a notably Long Rest. You can also add another cantrip to your list, and for times when iron doesn’t stand eternal you may want some Mending.
LEVEL 16 - CLERIC 11
11th level Clerics can prepare 6th level spells. Blade Barrier is perhaps not the most practical spell but it’s metal as fuck in more ways than one, blocking your foes with whirling death. Say it with me now: iron stands eternal! You can also now Destroy Undead of CR 2.
LEVEL 17 - CLERIC 12
At level 12 you get another Ability Score Improvement or a Feat... hey wouldn’t it be funny if we literally completely ignored our spellcasting modifiers in favor of just hitting things harder with our mace? This perhaps would’ve been stronger to take earlier but we’re finally grabbing Great Weapon Master for the hardest, most deadly strikes with Nightfall’s Kiss.
And more spells prepared? Well it’s perhaps not the most practical more undead minions from Create Undead will serve you well.
(Artwork by Sunny Pandita, Concept Artist at Riot Games.)
LEVEL 18 - CLERIC 13
13th level presents you with 7th level spells and damn there are a lot of good ones, but I’m actually going to suggest Regenerate to keep you or any allies in the fight.
LEVEL 19 - CLERIC 14
Another level, another spell. Even though there’s some really great stuff at 7th level you don’t have many spell slots there, so I’d instead suggest going back to fountain to resupply. Word of Recall (a 6th level spell) can help in a pinch to escape from danger and retreat to regroup.
Your Turn Undead now can Destroy Undead of CR 3 or lower. But most importantly: your Divine Strike now increases to 2d8 fire damage! So if Nightfall is a regular maul it’s doing 2d6 bludgeoning and an additional 2d8 fire damage on your first hit!
LEVEL 20 - CLERIC 15
15th level gives you an 8th level spell! You’ll only have one of these so make sure it counts! Clerics don’t have that many 8th level spells to choose from but you may be surprised to hear that I’m suggesting Holy Aura. Why? It’s the ultimate spell to stand eternally, making your foes attacks bounce off you like nothing while the weapons of your legion strike hard and strong!
FINAL BUILD
PROS
Flesh constrains; iron liberates - You know what’s fun? Having 20 AC with just (+1) Chainmail, and up to 22 AC with standard (+1) Plate! All I can say is that your DM will be thanking the gods that you didn’t decide to grab a shield.
Thus begins the slaughter - Ha ha Nightfall go bonk. If your sick of hearing people say that Martial classes don’t do a lot of damage show them a Martial character with Smites, Divine Strike, spells to boost their weapons, and Great Weapon Master to add a flat +10 to your damage! Not to mention that Guided Strike practically guarantees that you’ll land your blows, and you have two Channel Divinities per Short Rest!
I’m actually making a second paragraph for this: the most damage you can do in a turn (using two fourth level spell slots on Smites, a 7th level Elemental Weapon spell applied to your weapon, and assuming you use Great Weapon Master on both attacks) is... 4d6 + 36 Bludgeoning damage, 2d8 Fire damage, 6d4 Elemental Weapon damage (of your chosen damage type), and 10d8 Radiant Damage. This, on average, will do 130 damage! (Not accounting for Resistances.) To put this into perspective: Tiamat has 615 HP. A lot of resistances too yes, but not accounting for those resistances you in-theory are doing 20% of Tiamat’s health in one attack!
Power eternal - You may not have 9th level spells but you have 9th level slots, and tons of spells that will level the battlefield no matter how likely they are to hit. Buffing spells work regardless of your spellcasting modifier, and do so to great effect.
CONS
A fleeting delay of the inevitable - Hey you know what’s good to do as a spellcaster? Cast spells. Both your spellcasting modifiers are at the bare minimum required to multiclass. Perhaps see if you can build this character with Point Buy so you can dump every stat except for Strength, Wisdom, and Charisma. (Well Constitution is still good too.)
Such meaningless struggle - Dumping ability scores also means that your own saving throws are subpar, and unlike usual with Paladins you don’t have Aura of Protection to save you. Notably a -1 to DEX means you won’t be dodging any skillshots anytime soon.
Enter the crucible of anguish - You are a big, slow, bulky lad who needs to rely on a big smacc sticc to do just about everything. Anyone who can outrun you will quickly make you useless as you have to get closer to beat the shit out of people.
But you needn’t come to them: death shall befall them either way. They can stay away and hide from the inevitable, or approach and accept their fate. Nothing will break you, nothing will stop you. Twice slain, thrice reborn, you are Mordekaiser, and you stand eternal. Along with your kickass metal album.

My ‘One Piece’ Theories
1. The people of The Great Kingdom had powers that were transferred into regular fruits, which became known as ‘Devil Fruits’. This was because the Twenty Kingdoms were about to destroy The Great Kingdom, so the citizens transferred their powers into fruits so that these powers could live on within other people who ate the devil fruits.
2. Im, the real leader of the World Government, was given the surgery that could make a person immortal. If so, then Im was probably around during the Void Century, knew the mysterious ‘Joy Boy’, and is the only person who knows all of the world’s secrets. Im has an interest in Luffy, Blackbeard, Shirahoshi, and Vivi...though it has not been stated as to why he is interested in them. It could be that Luffy, Blackbeard, Shirahoshi, and Vivi will all play a part in the revealing of the One Piece and the world’s secrets...which Im will go to great lengths to prevent from happening.
3. The Ancient Weapons...Pluton, Poseidon, and Uranus...were designed to defeat the World Government and free the countries from its control. The World Government does not want anyone to know about The Ancient Weapons or learn how to build/control them. That’s because the members of the World Government know that, if the Revolutionary Army get their hands on The Ancient Weapons, then they will be able to use them to overthrow the World Nobles.
4. Those who have the initial ‘D’ in their names are descendants of the first Celestial Dragons who rebelled and did not take part in forming the World Government. Instead, they joined forces with the Great Kingdom and attempted to prevent the Twenty Kingdoms from destroying it...but they failed and spread throughout the globe in hiding. But they believed that future generations would succeed in freeing the world from the World Nobles, and each generation born from them was given the initial ‘D’ as a warning to the World Nobles and Celestial Dragons: Their own bloodlines would bring about their downfall.
5. Joy Boy, a mysterious figure who existed during the Void Century, was the king of the Great Kingdom and was the first pirate who ever existed. After his kingdom was destroyed by the Twenty Kingdoms, Joy Boy sailed around the world and left behind clues on how to destroy the World Government. He hid the final clue on Laugh Tale and had the Poneglyphs created in order to aid those who wish to bring down the World Government. He wanted the other countries and islands to be free from the World Nobles, and wanted all species to be able to coexist without persecution from the World Nobles and Celestial Dragons. But unfortunately, Joy Boy was unable to do this all on his own, but had faith that a future generation would carry on his dream.
6. The Celestial Dragons, who are the descendants of the rulers of the Twenty Kingdoms, were named after actual dragons known as ‘Celestial Dragons’. Celestial Dragons were dragon-like creatures who had extraordinary powers and were used by the leaders of the Twenty Kingdoms to defeat the Great Kingdom. Afterwards, the Celestial Dragons became a symbol of their wealth and victory. If this theory is correct, then the dragons are either extinct or live in a far off land.
7. The Country Wano, which is isolated from the rest of the world, was likely isolated due to the World Nobles’ corrupting influence on other countries. The World Nobles likely tried to steal Wano’s wealth but were unsuccessful, and the Shogun closed off Wano’s borders so that the World Nobles would no be able to exploit the country’s resources. Joy Boy likely visited Wano to have the poneglyphs made before the country became isolated. After Oden returned from his travels with Gol D. Rogers and learned the world’s secrets, he wanted to open Wano’s borders before ‘Joy Boy’ returned. This may be because when ‘Joy Boy’ returns, the World Nobles will no longer have influence on any countries and islands, which means that they will not be able to exploit Wano’s resources.
8. The Straw Hat Pirates will likely receive a few more members during and after the Wano Arc. It is possible that Carrot, an anamorphic rabbit girl from Zou, will likely become an official member of the crew and sail the seas with them the rest of the way. It is also possible that Momonosuke, the future Shogun of Wano, might also join them before becoming the new Shogun...like his late-father ‘Oden’ did when he decided to sail with Gol D.Roger. Kiku, a samurai from Wano, may become another new member after Kaido and Orochi are defeated. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
9. Momonosuke, who gained the ability to turn into a dragon because of an artificial devil fruit, will likely be able to use his power to fight Kaido. The Yonko, Kaido, can transform into an enormous dragon because of a zoan devil fruit. While the fruit that Momonosuke ate was deemed a ‘failure’ by Vegapunk, Momonosuke may be able to unlock its true power and transform into a dragon as powerful as Kaido. This would lead to a battle between the two of them, that could determine both of their fates.
10. The Grand Line, a massive wall that separates the four seas, could end up crumbling down so people will have easy access to the other countries and islands. While the Grand Line is said to be unbreakable...if one part of it is broken, then the whole thing could come crashing down. This would unite the seas, which could bring prosperity to the world as more alliances would form between the kingdoms of the four seas.
11. Tama, a little girl in Wano, will possibly tame all of the Beast Pirates who ate SMILE zoan devil fruits. Tama ate a devil fruit that gave her the ability to create dango from her cheeks. If animals eat one of the dango, they will obey Tama’s orders no matter what. Tama’s ability also works on people who have eaten the artificial zoan devil fruits, as they are now part animal. Tama used fed a dango to a horse-type woman named Speedy who, when fed one of Tama’s dangos, saw her as her ‘master’ and began to obey her commands. In the Wano Country Arc, Tama may be able to use this power on the rest of the zoan Beast Pirates in order to control them and turn them against Kaido and Orochi.
12. Koby, a Marine whom Luffy befriended at the beginning of the series, will likely battle Luffy on the island Laugh Tale. Luffy and Koby will likely have an epic battle before Luffy claims the One Piece. Other Marines, such as Smoker and Tashigi, might also become a part of the battle as well. This could mean that a war between Pirates and Marines will take place on Laugh Tale. Not only will it be a battle for the One Piece...it will also be a battle against the World Government. The fate of the world will depend on the fates of the Pirates and Marines.
13. Some people believe that Joy Boy, who existed during the Void Century, will return one day...even though it has been 900 to 800 years. If Joy Boy is said to return, then it’s possible that Joy Boy ate a devil fruit with a very, very rare ability: The ability to allow a person’s soul to possess a newborn body after the previous person’s death, and the cycle would continue no matter how many times the soul has been reborn. This ability would be similar to the cycle of the devil fruits, as the fruit’s power always possess a normal fruit and transform it into a devil fruit after the person who had that power has died. If Joy Boy did possess this power, then his soul continued to be reborn as a new person over and over again, and it would not have affected said person if they ate a devil fruit, since the soul is possessing a new body. If this is the case, then Gol D. Roger was likely one of Joy Boy’s incarnations and found out about it after reaching Laugh Tale. After Roger died, Joy Boy’s soul had likely possessed Luffy before he was born, which could explain the similarities between him and Roger. Im and the other World Nobles likely know about this, and are obsessed with catching and killing Luffy in order to prevent him from reaching Laugh Tale to prevent Joy Boy’s return. If Joy Boy returns, then everything that he was unable to accomplish during his time will be fulfilled in the current time.
14. Pluton, Poseidon, and Uranus, the three Ancient Weapons, are all meant to be controlled by the Pirate King. Joy Boy, who may have been the first pirate, designed the Ancient Weapons so that only a pirate like him could use them. Pluton is said to be a very powerful ship, Poseidon is a mermaid princess who can control Sea Kings, and Uranus is possibly a ship that can fly. If Luffy is the true Pirate King and Joy Boy, then Luffy would have control over these weapons and use them to destroy the World Government. If Im and the other World Nobles got their hands on the weapons, chaos could ensue as they would use the three Ancient Weapons to destroy all pirates and anyone who poses a threat to their power. They could even use the weapons to destroy the Marines, as they would have no use for them anymore. But it is likely that the Ancient Weapons are not meant to destroy the world, but rather...they are meant to unite the world instead. Guess we will have to wait and see.
15. It has been shown that Luffy will destroy Fishman Island. But this may not be a bad thing. If Luffy does destroy Fishman Island, then would probably be for a good cause. Fishman Island’s destruction could lead to Fishmen and Merpeople being able to live amongst humans and other species without persecution or racism. This will likely be a part of a New Age, in which all species will be able to co-exist with each other.
16. The identity of the One Piece has always been unknown, and will not be revealed until the end of the series. I believe that the One Piece is a poneglyph that has the history of the Void Century written on it. But this could only be a part of the One Piece. The next part of the One Piece could be ancient artifacts from before and during the Void Century that could reveal all of the world’s secrets that the World Nobles are so desperately trying to prevent from being discovered. The One Piece is said to shock the world to its core...meaning that it’s big reveal could bring about a war that will lead to a New Age: A world where countries are free from the World Nobles and pirates help maintain peace within the New Age.

“Is it a plot twist, or is it just lying?” and brief thoughts on the SPN road so far
To paraphrase an exchange from Bob's Burgers: Is it a plot twist, or is it just lying?
This seems to be an evolving theme of Supernatural's Season 15. I haven't been keeping up on my reviews here, dern it, but after some mild kerfuffles I've experienced between various fans (including myself), I'm re-inspired. Or perhaps incensed.
“Writers lie.”
When we first learned that God is a right asshole and as such, opened a rift in Hell before checking out to leave our intrepid heroes to deal with the undead invasion spilling forth—and then decided to check back in just to start fucking with the Winchesters again—I wasn't overly bothered, but nor was I particularly thrilled by the implications. I was begrudgingly interested to see what was evolving.
Well.
Kinda like watching a slo-mo train wreck, as it turns out. We're witnessing how this canon ret-conning is already starting to fray. How playing fast and loose with what the show has established as the rules of its universe is creating this “It was all just a dream” Dallas-esque meta embarrassment.
Seasons back, when the show first shattered the Fourth Wall by introducing the SPN books and conventions into its own mythos, that self-awareness was a really risky move. To this day, you either love it or hate it, but it managed to hold together because of the infrequency with which it was explored, and the skills of the writers at the time. (Even then, we got Season Seven, Time for a Wedding, arguably one of the more tasteless episodes of the whole series.)
As Dabb and company are choosing to further explore Chuck-as-God-and-puppetmaster, one of the show's important thematic cornerstones, that of the value of <i>freewill</i>, is taking a big hit. And the show knows it. They've had Dean come right out and air his disgruntlement with it several times already. So we get it, yeah, it's a thing. It's what Dabb is using to propel this last season (along with rampant fanservice and as many returning characters—dead or alive—that he can shoehorn into 43 minutes).
Now, I do loves me some fanservice on occasion, and there are certainly quite a few characters who died in rather inglorious ways and probably deserved better send-offs than they got, but I'm not sure 'hanging a flag on it' does enough to compensate for what this means in regards to the past 14 years of the show. In asserting that all of the past canon has been little more than Chuck's manipulations, it also means that the viewers' investment into the whole of the SPN universe has been hung on a lie within its own framework. “Ret-conning” doesn't even come close to describing this level of narrative dishonesty. (Wow, that sounded dramatic, but it's kind of true, you know?) By undermining the canon of the past 14 years, the current show creators have made Gamble, Carver and yes, even Kripke unwittingly complicit in this snake oil operation.
If SPN were just a movie, two hours designed from the jump to play out this way, I might think it was a little cheesy but oh well. I'm not that invested. (See 'Cabin in the Woods', which was a helluva fun neo-horror romp, in a similar vein.) But this is FOURTEEN YEARS we're talking here. That's a loooong time to be invested in a narrative, just to have the latest showrunner unseat all the canon that came before him. The only thing that matters one iota now? Season 15. It, apparently, is the only “true” canon. The only canon where “Chuck” is revealing his hand and operating with any in-world narrative legitimacy.
Thanks, I hate it.
I'm not going to pretend I like what Dabb is proposing. The segment of fandom hungry to bust Sam and Dean's so-called co-dependency is pretty stoked about it, naturally; they see classic SPN as toxic and unhealthy (and let's be real, in the way of a certain ship).
But here's the thing that gives me The Feels™, and it's not turning the Winchesters (or Cas, for that matter) into domesticated, well-adjusted Hallmark Channel leading men. (That's what, you know, The Hallmark Channel is for.) And it's sure as hell not invalidating the canon of the show I fell in love with.
It's urban legends, black humor, the endless highways and guttering neon. It's two brothers raised on the fringes of society, their unbreakable fidelity, finding comfort wherever they can since tomorrow, they may meet the business end of a rugaru. It's the colorful characters they meet along their travels. It's Led Zeppelin, greasy spoons and ancient tomes. It's faith and heart and sacrifice.
Unless Dabb dismantles these things too. At which point, a pox upon him and his house. Writers may lie, but this would be universe assassination.

Oh! I was going to mention some episodes too, lol. Here are a few quick take-aways, since I've already blabbed on enough.
Episode 3: RIP, Rowena. I looooooved the line, “But I believe in prophecy. I believe in magic.” That was SO her. Of course an ancient witch, the most powerful in the game, would live (and die) on those words. And kudos to the show for remembering it put that Sam gun on the mantel in Season 13, iirc. Pretty sure we'll see Rowena again before the grand finale, though.
Big happy for the suggestion that Sam is a witch-in-the-making. Also glad Cas finally got his brain wrapped around the fact that Dean was pissed at him but he didn't need to take it anymore. Dean has some valid reasons to need space from Cas, and it's a handy way to get Cas off doing his own thing (as Misha is not contracted for every episode).
Berens did a solid job writing this episode, but I'm glad we've wrapped the customary 3-episode season premier. I had high hopes for myriad crusty, decaying dead shambling around a grim world, but instead we got a handful of ghosts, literally running around in broad daylight. The first two episodes were … clumsy.
Episode 4: 'Atomic Monsters', was written by my favorite current SPN writer, Davy Perez, and he did not disappoint! Something about the way he writes dialogue sounds so naturalistic to me, and he manages to tap into authentic feelings in the characters without feeling rushed or contrived. I believe his stories. I never get thrown out of his episodes.
The episode was lovingly directed by Jensen Ackles. The guy flat out knows what to give us. That whole beginning red scene, with Dean and his John Wick bad-assery and then … then we get a Sam who has never eschewed his demon blood addiction. It was chilling and gorgeously actualized and I might have watched that bit more than is healthy.
And we got to revisit Becky Rosen, who is now a fangirl—like many of us—but she's grown up and assimilated fandom enjoyment into her daily life. Perez did a great job in saving Becky, as a character. She isn't the butt of anyone's joke anymore. She isn't a dangerously unbalanced fan. She's just … one of us. Thank you, sir.
Episode 5: Fun stuff in this one! Brotherly banter, Sam and Dean dressed as sort-of Fish and Game employees, a brilliant turn by actress Anna Grace Barlow reprising Lilith (no one saw this coming!), werewolf brothers as yet another example of monsters that aren't as cut-and-dried as hunters might like, and more 'visions' from Sam wherein Sam is Lucifer again, and Dean still has the Mark of Cain. YUM.
But there were also a couple some not-so-fun things. The girls glamping in the beginning was just plain silly, the fight scenes had too many jump cuts (imho), but mostly, why on earth would they leave the God gun in the glove compartment of the Impala?? I noted that back when Dean put it in there, Episode 2 I think it was, but I seriously doubt they wouldn't have locked it up safely after that. Please, foo. Don't make our characters stupid.
By episode's end, Dean is clearly frustrated and demoralized by their predicament. It's clear Sam and Dean will be taking turns buoying each other's flagging spirits this season. As co-dependent as ever. I am here for this.
●●●
This post has gone on long enough, so I think I'll hold Episode 6 ruminations for a separate entry, and maybe dish about where we think the series is heading, for a finale. Anyone reading this probably has a numb butt by now. Anywho, thanks for hanging in with me, gang! Talk at you later...

BLESSED CONQUEROR ⛅ In this life even pain has its blessings. As it is designed to fuel the righteous fire🔥 within. Everyone wants to be a diamond.💎 But the crushing compression of coal that makes one. Is famously glamorized by no one. I love to see you shine as much as all those who truly honor, & love you.☀ But in life what happens behind the game faces, & flawless attire. Is where true substance developes in the heart, & soul of every warrior within. This is where the formula for Kings👑, & Queens gets made, & poured into our unbreakable molds. God is here to help us through every battle. Sometimes the test is how we ride in the storm.⚡☁ Holding firm our faith in Christ Jesus to power us through.🙏 Knowing that within life's stings comes also the remedy. Curing our weaknesses as the pain subsides, making us stronger than before. Like the homeopathic venom of the blue scorpion.🦂 Used to successfully treat a range of cancers, & boost the human immune system. Certainly not suggesting we all go out, & get stung!. Yet we have all been bit by life before. So valuing how it can mysteriously make us stronger. Is wise remedy in becoming even more powerful children of God. So always be inspired by life, & nature. As our Father God of all glory, love, & power. Has already made all things for His good will. God is love💓 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. Spider-Man Homecoming thoughts
Well, my first one is kind of a spoiler but I think it is important to know. Leave your expectations at the door. This is a new version of Spider-Man, one that is different from any other version. This is not Sam Rami Spider-Man, this is not Andrew Garfield Spider-Man, this is not Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon or comic, and this is not 616 Spider-Man. This is a new version, a new interpretation of the character and mythos. That being said, I liked it for what it is.
Thoughts and spoilers below the cut
The two best parts of the film are Tom Holland’s Peter Parker and Micheal Keaton’s Adrian Toomes. The two actors play their characters so wonderfully well, Tom Holland’s Peter really, really reminds me of Tobey Maguire’s, from the voice he uses as Spider-Man, to how he sometimes comes off as lovably pathetic, and Hell, in some shots Tom Holland even starts looking like a younger Tobey Maguire. That being said, he does tell more than one joke in the film, so his Spider-Man has that over Maguire’s. Oh, it should be noted though, he does not have Peter’s anger. Even in the scene where Tony takes away the tech suit, I really expected him to get angry there and show that aspect of the character off, but instead he just, kinda starts to cry. Which, I don’t know how to feel about.
Micheal Keaton. Hands down. Plays the best MCU villain. To date. Better than Loki. There I said it. Hiddleston’s Loki has always had the problem of being too sympathetic to be taken seriously as a villain. But Keaton. Holy shit. Everything he does is for his family, there’s a scene where he’s with his family and he is so sweet and caring and a perfect father and husband, but then. HOO BOY. That car scene. The scene where Keaton is dropping Peter and Liz off at the dance, I had white knuckles all the way through it. The way he made Peter say ‘Thank you’ was terrifying. And the way he found out Peter was Spider-Man, as they drive and you start to see Keaton put the pieces together. HO-LY SH-IT. Only problem: nobody ever in this whole film calls him “The Vulture.”
Two more important notes about Spider-Man. First, Remember how in Civil War he was really, really strong? Well forget that, because in this film he’s really, really weak. Like, the weakest we’ve ever seen him. Not just his strength, but also his sticky powers. It is commonly accepted that Spider-Man’s stickiness is absolute, that it is an unbreakable molecular bond. When he sticks to something, if you try to remove him from it you will break the thing he is stuck to before the sticky bond comes undone. Well forget that. Because in this film Spider-Man is slippy and sliding all over the place when he’s sticking. Not just when he’s on a plane and in huge wind resistance where it might make sense, but when he’s climbing the Washington Monument, he can be seen sliding and loosing his grip on that too. This could just be chalked up to him being nervous and inexperienced, but I really, really, really hope that it changes going forward and that Marvel can stay consistent with how strong this version of Spider-Man is supposed to be. Oh yeah, and no, at no point in the film did Spider-Man ever express his Spider-Sense. I really hope this is just a case of “his powers are still growing”
Second point, that inexperienced bit. Yeah. This is the most inexperienced Spider-Man we have seen on film to date. I think the best symbol for this is the fact that this Spider-Man never once webswings in the city. He is always shown in the residential neighborhoods, never once does he really webswing around. He never goes to the big buildings. Again, for this movie I liked that and it fit it’s tone, but I really hope the next film has him going all out, and has him in true form.
No Daily Bugle, no J. Jonah Jameson. I really think they were afraid to recast him after J.K. Simmons’ legendary performance, and as humorous as that is, I’m kind of sick of it. Just recast already, we’re at the point now where it’ll be ok. Bite the bullet on this.
I was one of those people who was really afraid this film would turn out to be Iron Man 4, and I am happy, so so so happy to say it is not. Yes, Tony is in this, yes Iron Man is in this, but it’s not too much. Tony really only has four relatively short scenes that I can remember, but they are important scenes plot wise. I think he basically shows up to open and close every act. The movie is definitely about Peter though, thank god.
Oh yeah, and the Iron Spider is in the film. Or, a version of it. It invokes feelings of the Iron Spider, what with being an armored costume for Spider-Man, but in the end Peter turns it down and all for the better..... but I want a figure of it. It was kinda hard to see the design, since it was in shadow a little, and there was no glory shot of it, but what I saw of it was cool and I want a figure of it.
Best Aunt May, her role in the film is what every Aunt May’s role should be. Oh, and that was the absolute best way to end the film “WHAT THE FU--”
Oh yeah, I was also worried about the highschool setting, since 30 year old writers pretty much never know what a modern highschool is like, (I’m 23, only 5 years out from it), but this highschool setting was perfect. The teachers. Just. Did. Not. Fucking. Care. And that is so much my highschool experience.
Zendaya is MJ, but she’s not Mary Jane, and she’s really only there to set-up for the sequel. It’s really nice set-up though. They seem to have a good grasp on the idea of MJ’s character, how she wears a metaphorical mask to hide her true self just like how Peter wears a literal mask. All we see in this film is her metaphorical mask persona and it’s good to be acquainted with that before exploring her further. NOW, Yes, I would have preferred 616 the-mask-is-a-party-girl-Mary-Jane, and yes, Changing the character’s real name to Michelle is absolutely fucking unnecessary and stupid. But I think it’s too early to judge this version of the character because we have so little information about them.
Also there to set-up for the sequel is Mac Gargan, he has a role in the film itself as one of the people buying Vulture’s tech, but really his most important bit is the mid-credits scene, where he sets up the Sinister Six, and then Micheal Keaton’s Vulture wonderfully knocks that set-up down. Also, he does not become Scorpion in this, though if he does come back in the sequel to be Scorpion I’d be cool with it. His character is pretty much a total psychopath and we haven’t seen Spidey fight a villain like that in the movies yet.
That being said, if the next movie is Sinister Six I have total faith in Marvel to be able to do it, since this film had Vulture, Tinkerer, Prowler, Scorpion, and two Shockers in it, yet it never felt like that weighed the film down. Showing Spider-Man 3 and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 once and for all that it doesn’t matter how many villains you have, it’s how you use them that matters
The post-credits scene is the funniest one yet. Funnier than Deadpool’s even.
Now, there are two things about this movie that I absolutely LOATHE... or, at least don’t like and think were completely unnecessary
Ned-- Holy fuck he was annoying. His dialogue was nowhere as cringy as it was in the trailers, since they did that thing were they used alternate takes for the trailer lines, and yeah, the trailers for this film did not do it justice at all. Ned’s “But you are a kid” line in the trailers sounds so forced and poorly acted, like he’s trying to be epic about it but comes off instead like he’s out of breath, but in the film it is so much more natural and quick. Back to the point though. Yeah, he’s just Ganke. They stole Ganke from Miles, gave him a white guy name, and gave him to Peter. And ‘Nedke’ and Peter do not have the same chemistry that Miles and Ganke have. Nedke’s role in the film is basically to just be a tool, a tool for the film so that Peter has someone to talk to to explain things too, and someone to be really, really stupid. And that role would’ve been served so so so so so much better by Harry Osborn without the stupidity. There is a montage at one point where Nedke is asking Peter a bunch of Spider-Man questions out in the open and Peter is just trying to get him to shut up, and it was so annoying I wished Peter would punch him in the fucking face. ....That being said he had one of the funniest jokes in the movie. “I’m... watching porn?”
Karen-- Hoo-boy. Ok. So. Spider-Man really is kind of just an Iron Man Jr. Even down to the fact that his suit has it’s own AI that talks to him and tells him what to do and stuff. The taser webs are stupid and unnecessary, as is so so so much of the tech in Peter’s suit. I’m glad that the webwings are clearly shown to just be for short range gliding, but I still think they’re unnecessary. The film seems to go out of it’s way to show how Peter’s standard webline could be limited in certain situations, from being in a residential neghborhood, to climbing the Washington Monument where there’s nothing else around to swing on, setting an action scene on a boat (which how Iron Man saved that boat is completely physics defying), to even having Peter go way up into the air on a plane. Back on point, yeah, Spider-Man’s suit has a completely unnecessary AI. It’s only real purpose in the entire film is to be the punch line to one joke where the AI, which should have no human emotions or concept of human relations, tells Peter to kiss Liz.
Other things I didn’t like but don’t really get on my nerves too much
The music sucked. Just, sucked. The only one that was any good was the orchestral version of the 60′s theme song. I’m really torn with which theme I like better, the Orchestral 60′s or the Rami theme. One of these days though, I need to put together a Spider-Man playlist and show these films what that should be like.
Peter didn’t end up beating the villain, he just won through pure coincidence. Which I guess can be part of the point and audiences might be tired of the “good guy wins through a fist fight” climax, but still, Peter’s victory in this just, didn’t feel earned. He didn’t show Vulture error of his ways, or talk him out of a life of crime, Vulture’s wings just took on enough coincidental damage to finally explode of their own accord.
Alright, I think that’s everything I wanna get down. Or at least everything I can think of right now. I’m tired now, gunna go watch some reviews, see what others thought and hopefully get to see this film in theaters again soon with friends.

My 10 Fave Babes of All Time
Tagged by @faecakes. Thanks! (I loved your selection btw~).
I think I did this one a while ago but I took the chance to make this my first drawings of the year :pp to start warming up again ww. These are in no particular order.
1. Horokeu Usui (HoroHoro) / Shaman King.
Horo was probably my first masive 2D crush. I obsessed over him like a psycho lol. I learned every single little thing about him (and I mean trivial stuff like... the exact numbre of frame, page and volume for his first appearance xd), the meaning of his name, the name of his techniques (which were in Ainu). Oh, and also, SEIYUUS! Horo started my obsession with making seiyuu connections x) (I was never really fan of Ueda Yuuji, tho). And I really admired Horo... I felt he was like my soulmate, my perfect husbando. So, based on priority right, he should be like my #1 bae :')
2. Hinata Hideki / Angel Beats! & Kuga Aki / Kamisama Dolls.
I'm putting them together because they're both special characters to me for the same reason: I knew Kimura Ryouhei because of them, and I loved him from the very beginning. Coincidentally, I started watching Angel Beats and Kamisama Dolls at the same time, and the contrast between these two characters, voiced by the same seiyuu, made me fall in love completely. They're both so different. Hinata is a bright, loyal, energetic boy while Aki is this manipulative, rude, meticulous, violent guy (though he's also super calm and indifferent about certain things). Hinata had me loving his voice changes whenever he was put into ridiculous and funny situations while Aki got me melting becasue of his manic laugh. I love Hinata & Aki both as characters, not just because of Kimura, but they're the perfect examples of why KimuRyou is my fav seiyuu <3 <3
3. Kise Ryouta / Kuroko no Basket.
Oh boy..... my love for this man burns like a thousand suns bursting, ISTG. He's too pure too good to pretty too shiny too precious for this world. Ok, I admit... Kimura Ryouhei is partly at fault here lol. Kise actually reminded me a lot of Hinata and I liked him from the start too, but soon I started loving every single little thing about him. He's introduced a little as an arrogant dude but soon enough comes to change after his loss against Seirin (I loved it when he cried sddsffg). He's like the cheerful, carefree member of the group, but he also shows so much determination, strength, and even selfishness. But I really think he's the most admirable of the Generation of Miracles. And he's so pretty I wanna cry everytime I see him, sob.
4. Judal / Magi.
Yes, the Kimura Ryouhei syndrome continues... but I swear it's coincidence(?). Judal caught my eye since I saw him in the opening (that sequence when he's falling, grabs a white rukh and turns it black it's mesmerizing), but when he was finally introduced in the show, I WAS DOOMED FOREVER. Goddamn, I loved his personality. Even if he's a little bit of a psycho, I loved his childish arrogant attitude. He's like my twisted son ♥ Except... not really a son, because... he makes me feel things 6//6 (???). Aahaahgsdjhk yes yes ok, I love his design, really, L O V E I T ♥ ♥. His long braid, those beautiful ringed eyes, the makeup on them, the necklace and bracelets, that crop top, those abs, DAT WAISTLINE aksjdhjkashdkjhgasgasd ⁄(⁄ ⁄ ⁄ Д ⁄ ⁄ ⁄)⁄ He needs his own manga, there's just never enough Judal in my life.
5. Nozaki Umetarou / Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun.
I've said this before, but it me. Nozaki is me, I am Nozaki (except I'm not tall and handsome lol). Looks cold, mostly serious, suuupr dense in some subjects (specially about love and romance), zero experience in love... but somehow still makes love stories! His shoujo manga is terrible haha but he's surprisingly popular as mangaka in spite of that x) I bet if I were to draw a manga it would be as ridiculous as his (or if my comics serve as an example... well, there ww). He has this stoic aspect, but he makes the most idiotic faces when he gets excited too~ I think Nozaki is more socially skilled than me but we're both awkward anymway(?) xD. He's my spirit animal ♥
6. Netherlands & Finland / Hetalia.
Ah, my time in the Hetalia fandom... feels so distant :') Italy was my fav at first but then I started roleplaying Fin (the first chara I ever roleplayed) and my love for him kept growing from there. He was just too adorbs <3 I got to know a lot of super nice people, both on the internet and irl, because of him. Also, back then I listened to lot of metal music, and I always pictured Fin as a secret metalhead xD And then Netherlands... I don't remember exactly how I started liking him, I remember they released the chara design, stuff happened, and then there I was cosplaying the dude. Hahaha ah, even though I loved Fin, I couldn't identify with him cause he's super cute, happy and lovable; but Netherlands was more like me~ Stoic, cold, tsundere. Over time, Netherlands became my favorite over Fin, but they're both special.
7. Furukawa Nagisa / CLANNAD.
My precious child. The purest girl ever created. A National treasure, istg. She's not the type of female characters that I usually like, but somehow she got me from the start. She's too adorable, sweet, innocent and good. She's just too good!!!!!!! She's always caring for others, always supportive of her friends, and tries her best even though she's phisically weak and lacks confidence. She's so strong and admirable, she makes my heart melt. CLANNAD made me cry rivers and hit me hard when... well, when After Story happened. She's the type of character that I want to protect from all evil. I also LOVED Nakahara Mai's performance as Nagisa, btw. I kept watching her scenes over and over just to listen to the cutest voice akjshd <3 I really love this child ;//;
8. Licht Jekylland Todoroki & Lawless / Servamp.
Well, as you would expect x) It's probably obvious that I love them both so hard. And I want to clear up for the records that it's not just because I love them together, or the homo hints flying all over the place between them. I love them both as separated characters. I really admire Licht. His resolution, his unbreakable spirit, his attitude, the hard worker he is, his strength, his pure innocence about the things he loves, his vision, his badassness, his frankness, his creativity... He's a gem, the type of person I could never be :') ALSO, HE'S HOT AF. Lawless is so beautiful. He deserves the universe. I feel him more in a spirital way. How he lost faith in everything, how meaningless lives seemed to him, the vicious cycle he was in. But the fact he's able to change that (with Licht's help) is truly touching and praiseworthy. He made a deep impression in me. Ah, and of course, his flamboyant personality! He's such a dork ahah xD I love his nerdy side, his energy, even his bragging. And the fact that he can literally go from hotdamn vampire to cute hedgy in no time is amazing xD ♥ Also, his voice.... yeah, you know this by this point, but the fact he's voiced by Kimura Ryouhei makes him even more perfect than he already was (everytime I listen to the Drama CDs, I literally have to go back and listen to his lines again because kjahsdjkg perfection in my ears). So yeah, I love my boys ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
9. Morgiana / Magi.
Ah, Morgiana ♥ ♥ The ultimate example of the type of female character that I like. She's strong, kind, determined, tough, has a strong sense of justce, needs no one to do shit for her, BUT she's not arrogant, aggresive or extravagant herself. She's quite, starightforward and helpful. But she's also soooo adorable and cute!! The way she puffs up her cheeks when she's mad, her smile, the little tears on her eyes when he was encouraged by Hakuryuu, her happy face, the way she dances around wearing that exotic outfit... man she is gorgeous, she's amazing, she's a goddess. And dem kicks, THE KIIICCCKKKS, god she's a BADASS. She seriously became like a prototype of my perfect gurl. No kidding, after her, everytime there's a badass fem chara that I like, I call her "a Morgiana". And I know she's probs being "controlled" by Sinbad in the manga right now, but I cried when she said she has come to love herself because of all the time she's been with Alibaba. I'M SO PROUD OF HER <//333
10. Special mention to: EVERY KIMURA RYOUHEI CHARACTER.
Agh, I just.... it's amazing how without a miss, characters voiced by Kimura always become my favourite. I always love them, for one reason or another. I mean, I have other seiyuus I love too (Kaji Yuki, Nakamura Yuuichi, Ishikawa Kaito, Sugita Tomokazu, Kamiyan....), but I don't always like their characters. But with Kimura, I ALWAYS do. I don't know all of his roles, obviously, but here's some that I absolutely love:
Takakura Shouma [Mawaru Penguindrum] | Yagami Riku [Prince of Stride] Nishimi Kaoru [Sakamichi no Apollon] | Atou Touji [Tokyo Ravens] | Hauser [Nanatsu no Taizai] | Izuminokami Kanesada [Touken Ranbu] | Wakamatsu Hirotaka [Nozaki-kun] | Fujimoto Takatora [Aoharu Kikanjuu] | Kimata Hayato [Meganebu] | L-elf [Valvrave] | Furuya Chihiro [Sankarea] | Bokuto Koutaro [Haikyuu] | Shimotsuki Shun [Tsukiuta], etc....
- Special mention 2: Jorah Mormont, Eddard Stark, Jon Snow. Because I love GoT, and these are my favs, but I can't draw real people ww.
I’m tagging @pastenaga, @stars-glow-for-you, @adeslowmoqueen, @rhomilch & @reimeijennoir~ Feel free to do it if you want uvu/ Don’t worry guys, you don’t have to draw the charas to do this www Actually, you don’t have to write anything about them either lol my hand slipped(?)
#Personal note#meme#long post#sorry about that#didn't feel like putting everything under the Read More tag#tl;dr#horohoro#hinata hideki#kuga aki#etc....(?)

Back in the M. Night Groove
Due to the success of “The Sixth Sense” (1999), “Unbreakable” (2000), and “Signs” (2002), filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan seemed like he could do no wrong. Then he made “The Village” in 2004.
“The Village” completely derailed his hot streak and rather than walking away unscathed like Bruce Willis’ character David Dunn in “Unbreakable,” Shyamalan appeared cursed as his subsequent films got worse and worse.
The awfulness of “Lady in the Water” (2006), “The Happening” (2008), “The Last Airbender” (2010), and “After Earth” (2013) made it really hard to take Shyamalan seriously. For me, his series of clunkers meant his career was officially dead.
In 2015, the trailer for the heavily promoted “The Visit” showed up in what felt like every single commercial break and the rampant exposure actually started to pique my interest. However, since the film had Shyamalan’s name on it there was no way I would venture to the theater only to be disappointed yet again.
When I finally rented “The Visit,” against my better judgment, I couldn’t believe that I was once again entertained by Shyamalan. Though “The Visit” was a good movie, it was far from being on par with his three best films, but was definitely a baby step in the right direction. Shyamalan saved his full return to glory with his newest film, “Split,” currently in theaters.
“Split” isn’t just redemption for Shyamalan, it’s also a pivotal performance for lead James McAvoy. Normally when I see McAvoy onscreen all I picture is his association with that pile of garbage action film “Wanted” where he could curve bullets and ludicrously utilized an army of rats individually equipped with bombs. I still want to know exactly how long it took to make all those rat bombs. However, I have renewed faith in the actor thanks to his stunning performance in “Split,” which is alone worth the price of admission.
For essentially a one setting film, “Split” remarkably has a lot going on and excellent pacing reveals shocking details a little at a time. After being kidnapped, three teenage girls are locked away in a small room that was purposely constructed for imprisonment. Two of the girls, Claire (played by Haley Lu Richardson) and Marcia (Jessica Sula), are close friends, while the third victim, Casey (Anya Taylor-Joy), only happened to be out with the girls because Claire’s father made his daughter invite Casey. Even movie plots are anti-bullying now! Such progress!
As if having one captor isn’t bad enough, “Split” heightens the unsettling situation for the girls by having them held against their will by someone harboring 23 different personalities. McAvoy’s character suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder and the three girls never know who is going to be behind the door when he pays their room a visit. Each personality is so unique that one particular identity even requires insulin shots because of diabetes.
As the girls meet the different personalities, the audience learns even more about the main character when he goes to therapy appointments with his psychiatrist, Dr. Fletcher (Betty Buckley). This was a clever way for Shyamalan to further explore the character instead of only allowing him to relate to his prisoners. It also helped change up the scenery since, as I mentioned, the movie has one central location. Flashbacks to Casey’s childhood, which also helps shift to new settings, periodically take over in an attempt to explain her odd behavior. You see, from the moment they awake in their prison, Claire and Marcia act panicked and are determined to escape, but Casey is strangely calm. Much like her captor, there is more to Casey than what we see on the surface.
Typically, actors don’t find their career-defining role in a horror film, but McAvoy reached a new level of his craft with “Split.” You can tell how invested he was in bringing the character to life by the way he completely lost himself in the role. Whether he was playing a woman, a gay fashion designer, or a 9-year-old boy, McAvoy dominated every second of screen time.
“Split” is 2017’s first must-see film and you will need to go out of your way to avoid spoilers. Merely Googling the film title will return one of the two huge twists that the movie offers so I would pick up a newspaper to check for show times instead of looking online.
It’s been a long time since Shyamalan made something special, but “Split” is shaping up to be the beginning of a possibly huge comeback for the filmmaker.
Concert Update: So far the most colorful concert package of the summer belongs to Deep Purple, Alice Cooper, and The Edgar Winter Band. Catch all three when they stop by Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in St. Louis on September 8, 2017. Tickets for the show go on sale Friday, February 3 at noon through Live Nation.

Mammon
David Orton
"Therefore if you have not been faithful in the use of unrighteous wealth (mammon), who will entrust the true riches to you?"Luke 16:11
The law of spiritual riches is a non-negotiable principle of the kingdom of God. There is an unbreakable connection between our relationship to money and the release of the Spirit. If we have not been faithful in regard to natural wealth, how will God entrust to us spiritual riches? Before we go any further, this is not about so-called 'stewardship programs' - your church giving, or support of a ministry. 'Stewardship' (Giving etc) has been domesticated for too long by reducing it to fund-raising for missions or the church. This is not to deny the primary purpose of giving as the support of apostolic ministry for the spread of the gospel. However, for this to happen in such proportions to bring the fullness of the Kingdom to earth the invisible and insidious control of Mammon over believers must be exposed. No attempt to raise funds for missions or ministry will achieve world-changing dimensions without the subtle power of Mammon being exposed and broken. It is one of the major principalities ruling the world and the church, blocking a world-transforming move of God. In fact, it is at the root of the church's chronic spiritual poverty. The meaning and significance of the word 'Mammon' goes deeper into the human psyche than you may be willing to recognise. This is far more threatening than any spontaneous or planned giving, no matter how sincere, even if it is ten percent. If therefore we are desirous of spiritual wealth, of entering the fullness of the kingdom we must understand what "faithfulness in unrighteous wealth (mammon)" is. Failure to recognise this law hinders true spiritual progress. Conversely, to recognise and obey it removes an invisible spiritual ceiling, resulting in an open heaven over our life. What does it mean, therefore, to be "faithful in the use of unrighteous wealth (mammon)"?
The full import of the word 'Mammon' delves into the human psyche, fussing deep into the basement of our soul, our sense of who we are, locating where we derive our significance and security. To fully appreciate this we must understand the word Mammon. While 'Mammon' is used to refer to riches or wealth, it goes deeper, with the original root meaning 'to be firm, reliable'. Mammon is therefore something reliable upon which we depend for our life.
Thus, the workings of Mammon within us, rooted in self-reliance, may range from finding material and emotional sustenance in money, to status and reputation, to human systems, possessions, career success, or relationships; in fact any created thing. Deriving life from anything less than the uncreated God is 'Mammon', and by definition idolatry. In essence therefore Mammon is the rule of self. This then gives ground to the spiritual principality of Mammon. And so, when Jesus declares that we cannot serve God and Mammon (Mtt 6:24) he is not placing a prohibition on money or wealth, rather, he is showing the impossibility of finding sustenance from God and self (Mammon) simultaneously - it is either one or the other. This brings us to the 'deceitfulness of riches'.
Recognising the 'deceitfulness of riches'
Secondly, if we are to obey the law of spiritual riches we will need to recognise the "deceitfulness of riches" (Mtt 13:22). How are riches deceitful? In that we genuinely believe we are serving God, when in fact we are not - we are unwittingly serving Mammon. How does this deception occur? Through the insidious intrusion of the 'cares and anxieties of this life' - the pressure of making our way in life, and the 'desire for other things', for more - the new model vehicle, better employment conditions, more influence for our ministry, greater success or the recognition of our peers. This way the seed of the kingdom is smothered (Mk 4:19). Even so, we maintain religious behaviours, believing that through these we maintain a relationship with God. Thus, the difficulty, as Jesus underlined, for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God (Mk 10:23-25). The intrusion of anxiety and self-reliance prohibits us from authentic kingdom life - from experiencing "righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit" (Rom 14:17). We are found with a form of religion, but void of inner reality. Rather than enjoying the deep internal resonance of the Father's love with the assurance of his covenant fidelity and providential care, we are burdened by anxiety - by the cares of this world. However, anxiety, if recognised, then serves as a barometer, warning us of change in the spiritual atmosphere of our lives.
Dealing with anxiety.
Thirdly, to obey the law of spiritual riches requires our dealing with anxiety. Anxiety either drives us to the Lord or to Mammon. It presents us with the clear choice of either finding comfort in Mammon or in God. Resolve and progress in the kingdom is only found by obeying the clear injunction to not be anxious. The choice is ours, to trust in the Lord or rely on our own understanding (Prv 3:5-6)."Therefore I tell you, do not worryabout your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?....For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Mt 6:25-34 (NIV)
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:6-7 (NIV)The rub. This is the rub in the law of spiritual riches. Anxiety will either press us into the Lord or into relying on ourselves. By leaning on our own understanding, we rationalise our self-reliance, and thus find our own life. In contrast, trusting in the Lord requires that we lose our life: Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. Mt 10:39 (NIV)
The word used for "life" here is psuche, referring to our soul life - our mind, will, and emotions. And so, to "lose our life" demands the laying down of our soul-realm - that is what we feel, think, or want in the face of life threatening circumstances. I warned you this would fuss with you in the basement of your soul! Compared to the sanitised teaching of the institutional church on stewardship Jesus' call to follow him is deeply threatening. "If the Lord wants us in Canada he'll sell the home at the best price possible!"I recall vividly Jenny and me as a young married couple hearing the call of God. We had just designed and built our first home. One of our pastors at the time suggested we attend a certain Bible College in Canada, my response being far from positive in that we had done college some years before - my pride was offended - we had already been in ministry and were beyond this. However, God didn't leave it there. On our Christmas holidays I was visited by a dream, awakening the next morning knowing that Canada and Bible College were in the will of God for us. This meant selling our dream home to fund the call. So being the spiritual giant I was I responded, "OK, if the Lord wants us in Canada he'll sell the home at the best price possible!" So on our return home the house went immediately onto the market at a top price. After many weeks without any serious lookers and the deadline for moving to Canada looming I was reviewing the situation with my pastor when he said, "David, what price have you put on the call of God?" Instantaneously, I knew the figure the house was meant to sell for - $67,500. Unfortunately, this was $10,000 less than our asking price! I immediately notified the agent of the new price and the very next day the house sold to a cash buyer. The sobering thing was I had unwittingly put a $10,000 value on the call of God. I had been willing to sell out for a few moth-eaten dollars! The call of God is never convenient - it cuts across our ways and our thoughts - and so, human reasoning and pride must give way to God. I had to lay down my pride to return to Bible College - "Surely I was already a graduate with experience in ministry. How could this be God?" I was also required to lay down my natural reasoning that argued, "We are sons of the king - if this is God the house should sell for the best price!" I could have also argued, "Selling the home is irresponsible - doesn't the bible say that those who don't provide are worse than infidels?" You might also respond, "Well that's OK for David, he has a call to ministry. God would never require me to do something like that." Wouldn't he? Are we not all ministers and disciples? No one is exempt from the call to follow Jesus and to sell all. Are we not also all sons of God? And so, cannot the Spirit of God lead us all? And if he leads you to some kind of radical obedience you too will enjoy the promise that any who forsake houses, lands, wives, husbands, or children for his sake and the gospels will receive a hundred-fold in this life, with sufferings (Mtt 19:28; Mk 10:29-30)
Breaking the strength of the natural manThe law of spiritual riches demands our soul - our psuche - what we want, feel, and think. It brings down pride and the false god of Mammon in obedience to the supremacy of God in Christ. Only as we allow God to break the strength of the natural (psuche) man, our soul-realm, is Mammon defeated and only then are we entrusted with spiritual wealth. Our refusal to allow this process, by 'toughing it out', renders us impervious to the Spirit and the wisdom of God - the natural man cannot receive the things of the Spirit (1 Cor 2:14). As long as we cling to our tattered garments of self-reliance we can never be clothed with the riches of God's power and wisdom - we disqualify ourselves from receiving greater revelation of God and withhold his visitation to the earth. As long as we settle for some castrated version of 'stewardship', fussing as to percentage and whether its before or after income tax, instead of radically abandoning ourselves to the Lord, we deceive ourselves that we are rich and visionary while in reality we are poor and blind. Now is the time to recognise our plight and true condition. Only the poor in spirit are given the kingdom (Mtt 5:3). It is time to humble ourselves, and in due time we will be exalted. We have traded the majesty and terror of Christ the King demanding our soul and our all for our token giving. He is standing at the door knocking, commanding the doors to Zion be swung open. As surely as we respond the king of glory shall enter and sup with us. And we shall arise and rule with him if we overcome. You say, 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.' But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent.
Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne.

A kara ਕੜਾ کڑا कड़ा KADA, is a steel or iron (sarb loh) Bracelet, worn by all initiated Sikhs. It is one of the five kakars or 5Ks — external articles of faith — that identify a Sikh as dedicated to their religious order. The kara was instituted by the tenth Sikh Guru Gobind singh at the Baisakhi Amrit Sanskarn in 1699. Guru Gobind Singh Ji explained:
He does not recognise anyone else except me, not even the bestowal of charities, performance of merciful acts, austerities and restraint on pilgrim-stations; the perfect light of the Lord illuminates his heart, then consider him as the immaculate Khalsa.
The kara is to constantly remind the Sikh disciple to do God's work, a constant reminder of the Sikh's mission on this earth and that he or she must carry out righteous and true deeds and actions, keeping with the advice given by the Guru. The Kara is a symbol of unbreakable attachment and commitment to God. It is in the shape of a circle which has no beginning and no end, like the eternal nature of God. It is also a symbol of the Sikh brotherhood. As the Sikhs' holy text, the Guru Granth Sahib Ji says, "In the tenth month, you were made into a human being, O my merchant friend, and you were given your allotted time to perform good deeds." Similarly, Bhagat Kabir reminds the Sikh to always keep one's consciousness with God: "With your hands and feet, do all your work, but let your consciousness remain with the Immaculate Lord."
The basic kara is a simple unadorned steel bracelet, but other forms exist.

A string of posts to welcome 2020
shared by John Parsons:
Happy holidays yakirim... The Book of Lamentations is an acrostic poem that begins with the Hebrew letter Aleph (א) in the word "eichah" (אֵיכָה), which also marks the Hebrew name of the book. "How (eichah) lonely sits the city that once was full of people!" (Lam. 1:1). The sages note that this word "how" (i.e., eichah) could also be read as "where are you?" (i.e., ayeka: אַיֶּכָּה), God's first word spoken to Adam after he broke covenant in the Garden (Gen. 3:9). Note that God's question is often our own: "Where are you? Where are you, God? Are you here, in the midst of this tedious moment? Do you know my loneliness, my ache for love?" Yet how many people today live in a state of self-imposed exile from the LORD? God uses our loneliness ("how lonely...") to search our hearts, asking each of us, ayeka – "Where are you?" "Why have you turned away from me and chosen a state of exile?" Our haunting sense of God’s absence impels us to seek for him... God awaits our only possible response, "Hashivenu!" -- an imperative (urgent appeal) for the grace to repent: "Turn us back to yourself, O LORD, so that we may return to you; renew our days as of old" (Lam. 5:21). According to midrash (i.e., ancient Jewish commentary), just before Joseph revealed his true identity he turned to his brothers and said, "You told me that your brother Joseph died. Are you sure?" "Yes, we are; he's dead," the brothers replied. Joseph then became angry and said, "How can you lie? You sold him as a slave. I bought him myself and can call him right now." Joseph then called out, "Joseph, son of Jacob, come here right now to speak to your brothers." Terrified, the brothers turned to see if Joseph was coming....
When he overheard his brothers contritely preparing to meet their brother and to beg for his forgiveness, Joseph then looked at them and said in a loud voice: "Who are you looking for? אֲנִי יוֹסֵף הַעוֹד אָבִי חָי - I am Joseph. Is my father still alive?" (Notice that Joseph revealed himself to his brothers using Hebrew speech as the token of his identity.) When he saw his brothers draw back in fear at his shocking disclosure, Joseph reassured them by saying, ge'shu na elai - "Please come near to me; come and see..."
On a peshat level (i.e., literal sense), when Joseph revealed his identity he was asking his brothers if his father Jacob was still physically alive (ani Yosef - ha'od avi chai: "I am Joseph; is my father still alive?"). This is puzzling, since in earlier encounters the brothers attested that Jacob was very much alive... On a sod level (i.e., in a mysterious sense), since Joseph is a picture of Yeshua (Mashiach ben Yosef), the question can be phrased, "I am Yeshua - is My father alive?," that is, do you now understand the righteousness of God the Father in raising me from the dead and promoting me to His right hand? Yeshua therefore evokes the confession of faith from the beloved Jewish people: "I am your brother Yeshua: do you now understand that My Father is alive?" [Hebrew for Christians]
Among other things, the dramatic story of Joseph reveals how God's hidden hand moves for good in our lives. Despite the terrible betrayal of the pit, the unjust suffering of the prison house, and the sorrow of losing his father, there was light, exaltation, and joy to come forth. God knows how to take our emptiness to yield “storehouses in Egypt...” As Joseph later told his brothers, “you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good” (Gen. 50:20). Resist the temptation to judge by mere appearances. Forbid your sorrow to blind the eyes of faith. Do not unjustly judge God's purposes or try to understand His ways; accept that He works all things together (συνεργέω) for good -- making even the very wrath of man to praise Him...
Faith "sees what is invisible" (2 Cor. 4:18) and understands (i.e., accepts) that the "present form of this world is passing away" for purposes that are good (1 Cor. 7:31). It affirms that underlying the surface appearance of life (chayei sha'ah) is a deeper reality (chayei olam) that is ultimately real, abiding, and ultimately designed for God’s redemptive love to be fully expressed. In this world we must "see through" a mirror (i.e., indirectly) to begin to see the dawn of our eternal home; but one day we will behold God panim el panim (פָּנִים אֶל־פָּנִים), "face to face" (1 Cor. 13:12). In the meantime, faith beholds the invisible light, the truth of God’s love that overcomes all the powers of darkness, hate, and fear.... "I believe. I believe in the sun even when it is not shining; I believe in love even when feeling it not; and I believe in God, even when God is silent" (from an anonymous poem found on the wall of a cellar in Cologne, Germany, where some Jews hid from the Nazis). May the coming year be one of blessing and health for us all -- mechayil el chayil! ("from strength to strength"). - jjp
“Faith in divine providence is the faith that nothing can prevent us from fulfilling the meaning of our existence. Providence does not mean a divine plan by which everything is predetermined, as in an efficient machine. Rather, providence means that there is a creative and saving possibility implied in every situation, which cannot be destroyed by any event. Providence means that the demonic and destructive forces within ourselves and our world can never have an unbreakable grasp upon us, and that the bind which connects us with the fulfilling love can never be disrupted.” - Paul Tillich
"For I know the thoughts I have for you," declares the LORD,
"thoughts for healing and not for evil,
to give you a future and a hope." (Jer. 29:11)
"Everybody wants to go to heaven, but nobody wants to die..." Everybody wants the finished product of a surrendered life, but no one wants the process, the painful shattering, the revelation of the end of themselves... And yet it is only by means of affliction that the “outer shell of the seed” is broken so that new life can burst forth: "I tell you the solemn truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains by itself alone. But if it dies, it produces much grain" (John 12:24). If the seed does not fall to the ground and die, αὐτὸς μόνος μένει - it remains alone - by itself...
Since we will not surrender without struggle, God must intervene and save us from ourselves. Each of us must “go to Peniel” to wrestle with the Angel; each of us must be renamed from Ya'akov ("a supplanter") to Israel ("a prince with God"). Like Jacob, we will prevail with God when we give up the fight and accept our brokenness. We win by surrendering.
It's been said that we can never know that God is all we need until God is all we have left (John 15:5). Therefore "blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven; blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted; blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled..."(Matt. 5:3-6).
