"I dont like masks anymore”
in my need to introduce unintended depressing elements, the Twohearts AU got me thinking if Daburite from Sailor V was ever a canonical thing again
Cause  even their similarity too.. youknowwho is less glaring here, but ditch all that and go with the concept of the revived/gotten-memory-back secret bad guy who is just kind of... wrong in the head. So they have bad guy front but also the lingering association of the senshi (just Venus here I guess). Over time they remember more and its just more and more of the villainy (kinda like Doc Tomoe but in reverse?) but like, also this assumption fate is gonna be what its gonna be. There’s still there’s a confrontation and a fight like originally. But on some level Dab is like ‘no don’t worry whatever happens happens, isnt fate weird lol’ so when Mina has to defend herself and oh hey yknow how I like the idea Mina turns her chain into the Sword, what if she finds out she can do that while trying to run him through when she’s trapped
And Daburite just... laughs to himself while the building collapses around him, not because she missed (Minako goes over in her mind sometimes if that was on purpose, or a fluke of luck on his part) but he knows she won’t a second time. This fight against a full-powered Venus, not V, is over and he does his weird speech about helping Venus along in her destiny that sounds half-praise and half-mockery while Minako peels outta there before the walls come down
Mina learns about being careful with trust, and maybe that heavily affects her trying to buy in Setsuna’s claim this mysterious clumsy blonde might be worth allying with even if they aren’t sure what they are. But also maybe Mina learned it cant always be a sword that solves a problem and it leaves her more open to Usagi’s unconventional solutions
