SO not to drag on a convo from last week but I was listening to Stacy’s beautiful monster and apparently ppl???? Don’t like it???? And I THINK beautiful monster follows the same pattern as ready to love concerning mediocre/whatever mvs making fans think a song isn’t good???? Idk if you’ve listened to the song but it’s a wonderful one and I actually really enjoyed it and didn’t realize ppl didn’t like it???? ok so I'll be the first to admit that i have almost no ability to tell what makes a good mv and what makes a bad mv, i think it's mostly due to indifference since i've never been a big music video person. I had also never seen the beautiful monster mv till right now but honestly i feel like it's not that bad?? Like ready to love I get, even I could tell it's awkward and just like not shot very well?? (Don't get me started on the filter on it WHY ARE WE ASH GREY RN???) but beautiful monster looks normal to me idk. The drawings are cute and the filter isn't THAT annoying. I also don't get why everyone hates that song. Is it the best song I've ever heard? no, but it was fun and completely passable.

i'm going to be messy and feel free to ignore this but I just came across this kpop mv and i'm so confused cause the music video has many views but the likes do not match up with the view count at all... like... i dont want to give away their view count/like ratio but just for comparison, I watched a video that had 700k views and it had more likes than this music video. Like, I dont even think the company bought views cause they're not even a big company who can afford it but like, i was just so shocked cause it's actually a pretty good song so when i first saw the likes i was like... damn are people disliking this song? is my taste really bad?? cause i was expecting 10x the amount of likes it has

i dont really pay attention to the likes/views ratio on mvs but yeah you'd think a mv with lots of views would have more likes right?? i'm curious to see what the dislikes would look like because that would be a more accurate ratio to look at, but too bad youtube took away that feature. also i am also guilty of watching a mv over and over again without leaving a like, so maybe i should start doing that 😬

Here's my personal ranking for Every Gorillaz Music video, based both on song and the video itself:

PHASE ONE:

Tomorrow Comes Today: 7/10. I love this song and the video fits its vibe, but its still pretty simplistic and not a whole lot of actual animation and no story, so it gets points off for that.

Clint Eastwood: 10/10. I love this one honestly. Its still so charming after all this time and showcases the band well for their early days. Love the more moody tone of it, and I always love seeing the band actually play instruments in their videos too. Bonus points for Murdoc's laugh opening this one because I love that.

Rock The House: 9/10. Pure fun. I don't have a lot of commentary for it, I just think its fun and I love the song itself too. One point off for Murdoc thrusting his hips too many times for my eyes tho.

19-2000: 10/10. This one was the first Gorillaz video that I saw and it really is just a nice non plot connected video. The 3D animation still manages to hold up because of its mix with 2D animation in my opinion and I enjoy it.

Rockit: 5/10. I like the song but the video is kinda meh.

PHASE ONE MV'S OVERALL: Overall I like phase one and I miss Del. Bring him back.

PHASE TWO:

Dirty Harry: 8/10. 2D is just vibing so hard in this video and I'm living for it. That’s all that matters. (Side note but I love the version of this video they did for the BRIT's as well.)

DARE: 10/10. Noodles time to shine, a perfect song, what more could you ask for?? (Also love the bit with Murdoc at the end of course.)

Feel Good Inc: 10/10. This one is obvious if you know me at all. Murdoc playing his bass is what sells this one for me cause I enjoy the animation. The songs amazing and one I find comforting to listen to, and the mood of the video fits it perfectly. Theres some really fun shots with lighting while 2D is standing at the window too in the tower in here that I've always liked.

El Mañana: 6/10. I love this song but it makes me sad and so does the video.

PHASE TWO MV'S OVERALL: Phase One is iconic for its art style and for being The Beginning, but Phase Two is my favorite of the two for its art. I love how these videos are animated, and even if Demon Dayz is my least favorite album, the songs in these videos are all very good. Pretty solid as a whole all things considered.

PHASE THREE:

Stylo: 10/10 LISTEN, I KNOW SOME PEOPLE HATE THE CGI, BUT I LOVE IT. It’s so expressive, this song is one of my absolute faves, I’m sorry to be such a Murdoc liker but hes so much fun in this video and so expressive and it starts the story off for Plastic Beach. I love it so much.

On Melancholy Hill: 7/10. It’s not a bad video, and I love the song a lot, but...not a lot actually happens in the video aside from the bits with Noodle. Bonus points however go to just how seamlessly it puts 2D and 3D animation together, and for how cute 2D looks this whole video.

Rhinestone Eyes: 9/10. WOULD BE A 10/10 IF WE’D GOTTEN OFFICIAL ANIMATION FOR IT ;-; (The fan animated video for it tho is Very very good and i applaud that whole team.) Amazing song, this video has the most story packed into it so far from all the other videos and it’s memorable from its storyboards for that alone.

Doncamatic: 10/10 Listen...Listen I know its a one off and it doesn't really have anything in it but I’m obsessed because its one of my favorite Gorillaz songs tbh and I love Daley’s outfit in it so it gets a full pass from it.

PHASE THREE MV’S OVERALL: I love every video this phase tbh, none of them are bad. All of them are fun,and even if Melancholy Hill is a little slow, it’s still enjoyable. I love this phase because they all connect and I know I’m not the only one who feels that way either.

PHASE FOUR:

Hallelujah Money: 7/10. It’s not at all bad, but I’m as not fond of this song, and the video itself is much too trippy for me. Still has its own merits tho that I won’t knock it for even if it’s not my personal taste.

Saturn Barz: 10/10. Everything about this video is amazing. Character designs and as a comeback for the bands animated counterparts, it was perfect. I loved hearing them actually speak again too it made the whole thing so fun. The song is fuckin awesome and it fits the vibe of the whole video. Bonus points for the more lineless animation style they gave everyone in this video, it was a really neat change from past phases. My one complaint is again stop making me see so much naked Murdoc, I may like him but not like that.

Sleeping Powder: 6/10. I am so split when it comes to the mo cap models. This songs good but the video is again too trippy for me.

Strobalite: 9/10. Would have been 10/10 if Russel got to dance with 2D and Noodle, but other than that its pretty damn good. The mo cap looks way less awkward in here, particularly Murdoc and Russel. Also hilarious that Murdoc made a deal with the devil, and the guy who played him is actually his voice actor irl. This songs too much fun to vibe to as well.

PHASE FOUR MV’S OVERALL: Not much for story, but makes up for it in updated art and great music again. Solid overall yet again. I like it.

PHASE FIVE:

Humility: 20/10. Literally every single person I know who’s seen this video loved it. The animation is Beautiful, the song is so fuckin catchy, Jack Black is in it! What more do you want!! (The only thing I could have asked for was to see more of Ace but that’s its only flaw.)

Tranz: 9/10. I love this song so much but this video is Again just a little too trippy for me. However, we get to see Ace just jamming out in this video and I’ll take the trippiness just for that.

PHASE FIVE MV’S OVERALL: I was surprised there wasn't at least one more video for this phase honestly? I feel like Kansas or Souk Eye would have made for great videos for this phase. That aside tho, both the videos it does have are a lot of fun. My literal only complaint is that I wanted to see more of Ace. Bring him back in the future.

PHASE SIX:

Momentary Bliss: 8/10. This songs fine, but what sells it for me is the video is more slice of life/a day in the life of the studio. I’m always a fan of those moments. Bonus points goes to Murdoc trying to fuckin poison Jamie and it backfiring on him.

Désolé: 10/10: ooooh this song is so beautiful...I love it so much. 2D Noodle and Russel got to have such a fun time in this video and they deserve it. And poor Murdoc, having his little sad times by his asshole self. I love him but I think he deserved it. The others needed a good break from the bullshit and I’m glad they got it.

Aries: 6/10. Video itself is kinda boring, but the song is nice. Murdoc deserved to be left behind in Désolé after what he tried to pull here.

Friday the 13th: 3/10. I don’t care for this video and I really don’t care for the song. Not much else to say.

PAC-MAN: 6/10. Video’s fine, I like some of the little details in it, but it’s nothing special. The song itself is nice tho, super calming, I like it.

Strange Timez: 20/20 MY GOD I LOVE THIS ONE SO MUCH...VISUALS ARE SO FUN, I LOVE ROBERT SMITH SO I LOVE HIM IN HERE, ITS JUST A GOOD TIME ALL AROUND!

The Pink Phantom: 5/10 I just don’t really care for this song?? I like Elton John but I couldn’t get myself to like this one no matter how many times I’ve listened. 2D got to be happy in this video tho so I’ll give it a pass.

The Valley of the Pagans: 6/10. This song fuckin slaps but the video feels like a boring redo of 19-2000 except for it’s ending. It gets points for giving everyone Plastic Beach feelings at the end and hyping up the video after it.

The Lost Chord: 20/20. Y’all knew this was coming. This was something I’d BEEN hoping for story wise and I finally got it. Was it maybe a little rushed? Yes. But GOD it was such a nice thing to see them say “hey we’ve wrapped up this part of the story for good and want everyone to move on from it, so we’ve given it a properly acknowledged final send off.” And tangibly seeing everyone's emotions laid out about the island and their times there was very nice. And  I know Jamie and Damon have stated Murdoc is irredeemable, blah blah yes I know hes an asshole still, but I WILL think about Murdoc in this video and how he seemed actually regretful and what that means to me and the fact that it was no one else but 2D himself being the one to reach out to Murdoc in the end to save him until my dying breath, thank you very much. And this song?? Fuckin beautiful, it had those Plastic Beach vibes again and felt good for it’s send off song, I love it.

PHASE SIX MV’S OVERALL: I may be a little split on some of them and on Song Machine as a whole, but tbh I love the phase six art style so much and most times the videos were pretty good. Bringing back PB in the end was something I always wanted too so it really does get bonus points from me for that. I’m 50/50 on them overall. The great ones are great, and the meh ones are just kinda boring, so it evens out in the end.

STAND ALONE VIDEOS MENTION:

Do Ya Thing: 10/10. I’ve said before I love the 3D animation and the slice of life stuff, so this one’s obviously a favorite, and you really cant go wrong with an Andre 3000 feature either. 

Superfast Jellyfish: 3/10. This song is kinda fun but I don’t give a single shit about the music video.

Garage Palace: 8/10. Very fun pixel visuals for a change along with a killer song, super enjoyable.

So what’s my final verdict on Gorillaz and their long music video history?

Honestly for a group thats been going as long as they have, I dont think they have too many misses in their catalog. The ones that aren’t as fun are just kinda there, but the videos that really stand out stand out far above the ones that don’t hit the mark as well and in the end it all feels like a good balance. No band has a perfect video every time, but the ones that Gorillaz did well they did amazing on and I enjoy it immensely when that happens.

Sidenotes after watching all of those:

For the love of god please put Russel in the videos more, please, he deserves it and I would love to see him more.

On that note, BRING DEL BACK WITH HIM TOO!!

And speaking of characters to bring back, I want Ace to come back and join Murdoc sometimes, even if its only once or twice more, I need to see them interact PLEASE.

Last note but Jamie, please, I’m begging, show less of mostly naked or fully naked of Murdoc in future videos, we’ve had our fill by now.

Mark, he was the first one I knew the name of and I heard he was an American, it was very easy for me to just pick a bias right away then!

Jinyoung, he stood out to me the most in every new video I would check out about them, and then I'd discover it was Jinyoung, and yeah he's been my bias since, Mark was a very short lived bias.

Honestly I don't remember I would guess it was If You Do or Fly, but I'm really not sure.

You Are, i absolutely love the aesthetics of that mv!!

That's so hard, but maybe Just Right!

I'd love to see them collab with other kpop idols, like how cool would it be if Bambam and Yugyeom did a 97 line collab, or if Jackson finally getting to collab with Namjoon, I just want them all to have a chance to collab with all their idol friends, like how iconic with that be!!!

7. what (mv) concept do you want to see them do?

I really really want them to do a retro concept, like I know a lot of groups are doing that rn, but i really love that concept, and I think Got7 would really suit it! Like they had a Japanese photo shoot a while ago, where they are in roller skates, and since then I haven't stopped thinking about how much i want them to do a mv/song in a retro concept!!! Also those are often more of a cute/bright concept, and i love those concepts and just yeah!!!!

The only time i remember dreaming of them, in the dream i was at a Got7 concert, and it was like a small venue, and they were walking around the venue, but then someone like threw something at them (it like a nice way, like flowers or something i dont remember) but like that caused the concert to end early, and then i woke up. Tbh i think i have more NCT related dream, shocking i know!

9. if you could spend a day with one member, who would it be and what would you do?

Um, all of them, lol, but I think I'd want to most spend the day with Jackson, he is highkey my second bias, and I feel like he'd have really great ideas of things to do, so i'd let him plan the day!

Jaebeom, my lowkey third bias, I just feel like he and I are like super similar, so we'd just vibe really well together!!

Tbh I don't think any of them, but i'll pick Jackson, just cuz i feel like he'd be that friend who tries to push you to grow and be a better person, but I'm super stubborn, so like if I feel like if he's trying to hard to make me a better person, I'd just snap at some points, that said tho, i feel like he'd probably be a good friend for me to have, because I sometimes think i need more friends who push me to be better.

oh shit really? uhh idk if i can do that but... i mean i gotta say siyeon right? her voice *is* dreamcatcher to me. her voice defines their sound more than anything else, even more than their rock concept. like for real, her voice is more integral to the feel of a dreamcatcher song than the guitars or sort of dark vibe. well, her voice brings the dark vibe a lot of the time, honestly. after that i’d say jiu cause her voice is the total opposite, she has the voice you would least associate with a concept like this, but that serves to add a lot of range to their sound too. her voice is so vividly bright and cheerful... so, dreamcatcher’s dark concepts are defined by siyeon for me, and dreamcatcher’s lively personality and energy onstage and offstage are defined by jiu for me. those first lines of “wake up”? iconic, full of energy, aaaaaa i love her. after that i guess i’d say yoohyeon cause she’s the lead vocalist lol. and then... about the same for the rest. i dont have an order from then on. they’re one of the groups where i think it’s the easiest to tell which member is singing just from audio alone, all seven of them have distinct vocal characters. the only two that i sometimes mix up (again, just based on audio only) are sua and gahyeon. or dami when she sings lol

what do you mean? like in terms of types of songs? uhhh.. idk.. most of the stuff i would say to this is stuff that i have no doubt will actually come. i want more bangers like piri and what, i want more edm stuff like sleepwalking and silent night, but yeah i’m sure we’ll get that. i guess what i’ll say is... more songs with involvement from the members. either in terms of composition or even just lyrics. though i like the composers and lyricists they have a lot! i’ll also say if nothing else, then a song choreographed at least in part by the members would be amazing. idk if it’ll happen for a title track, but if sua choreographs one of their edm bsides or something, and they perform it live on music shows, fuck...

What would you say to each member if you didn't have to worry about a time limit?

each member individually??? that’s too time consuming woirjgeoiwrgew but i do have individual answers for all of them probably lol. especially yoohyeon, i wanna talk to her about languages. i’ll just say to all of them how much i appreciate them and how they arent boxed in by typical idol conventions, but they also arent boxed in as outside them either. like, they’re not an anti-kpop-group, they’re not the complete antithesis, they like being a kpop group and they like other kpop groups so they would never want to be that. i like how much fun they have, i like how close they are, i like how they treat their fans, i think if the fandom did something really awful or went too far i like to think they would feel comfortable letting us know. hopefully, anyway. more than most other kpop groups i’m aware of, it’s easy to find them in videos and vlives and stuff not being totally in idol-mode and just being people, and friends with their members. im not criticizing other groups, cause if i was in their position, i think i would have a hard time not being “on” when on camera, even if it’s just a vlive. maybe it’s because they’ve known each other for a lot longer than a lot of other current-gen groups, and they’re older than many of their current-gen peers too. they feel very earnest, they’re not trying to hide. im sure there are aspects to them that we dont know about and will never know about, and i hope that’s the case cause i hope they’re able to maintain some privacy in this job, but it’s not hard to tell when someone is being genuine and when someone isn’t, and i get a very genuine vibe from them a lot of the time. i’m glad they are who they are, they’re really influential and inspirational to me.  i.... also might wanna mention their support for lgbt people, though i would want to talk to them about that in private because it’s personal for me and risky for them and i know how shitty that situation is, especially since i know that they care and would be a lot more vocal if they could be. and they’re one of the most vocal groups about it already! i just want to thank them.

so, since i started this list like this last year too, here we go: i know little to nothing about music, i have weird (may i say b a d) taste and my reasonings are - as expected from a subjective list - Super personal ,, also i dont follow every female k-artists so there are definitely blind spots for me too! that said ... LETS GET GAY! LETS GO LESBIANS!

Wind (바람 ) - Heize

suprise surprise, its Heize again. i was rarely this excited about a comeback this year as i was about Wind ... i adore this mini. i really love Heize’s voice, especially now that she is playing around with rapping And singing more than ever, its just ,, i hear her voice and i just, immediately calm down and feel a warm glow in me rising and --- this is getting really cheesy, isn’t it.

my fav tracks have to be Sorry and wish you well (feat. DAVII), however i can listen to this whole album without a problem - of course Jenga as the title was amazing as well, Dahye’s voice works really well with Gaeko’s as well. additionally i loved the ~design for this album, the photoshoot is stunning and the whole aesthetic is very much up my alley.

AND SINCE WE R ALREADY TALKING ABOUT DAHYE:

+ First Sight (첫눈에) - Heize

as expected, i love her winter single release as well. again, a Lovely mixture of her singing and a solid very groovy amazing rapping part. i did like her mini a lot more lyricwise (lots of it is really sad but Sorry has such smart lyrics!!!), however as a “”simple”” winter release that is meant to fit this season, this is amazing.

Oh Boy. Here we go.

this is hands-down my Favorite Release of this whole year. i don’t know if its clear, but i adore yeeun. i adore her as the person park yeeun, who is an activist and very outspoken about her position of a woman in the industry, her experiences in one of the most successful girlgroups Ever, her views on feminism and sexism, the fact that she collabed with a drag organizer for her exhibition, etc etc etc. however, i also love yeeun as Ha:tfelt and adore her music. Pluhmm is such a sensual, fun and soft and yet strong song about her Own Desires and a woman that Wants to flirt and be in love and have fun and Be sensual and its so so so lovely and warm and playful and confident? i died a little at the MV because Ha:tfelt is a Woman and is portrayed as such, she is sensual and sexy and its portrayed by yeeun dancing around a flat in the sexiest dress and feeling herself and. its just Wonderful. so wonderful. i love her. Cigar is super touching too, very smooth and slick and polished and yet it has a vulnerable touch to it and is just ,, such a good song ....... thank u yenny.

Warning - Sunmi

ANOTHER AMAZING WOMAN. if i had to choose a soloist that is more active and actively promotes and performs on music and award shows etc, i’d definitely go for Sunmi. first of all: sunmi is outstandingly hardworking, talented, tough, brave, but also so so so kind and sweet and self-aware (seriously her twitter account is my social media highlight of this year, she is beyond ADORABLE and wonderful and funny) and of course she is fucking beautiful. this album is AMAZING - i can listen to the whole tracklist without skipping a single song. i adore Siren (aesthetically its my favorite title track of hers, though i do think Gashina is a little more catchy, esp together with that choreo - but i Love Siren’s horror-esque MV with the, well, siren-mermaid-imagery, so good!) but personally my favorite SONGS are ADDICT and Black Pearl - both sound very different actually, one being completely in English, but it just shows how well Sunmi can pull of different styles. god ... have u seen her on stage? shes a m a z i n g.

KHAN - I’m Your Girl ?

I started following Euna and Minju already before they debuted ... but what really made me fall in love with both their voices, be it singing or rapping (cause both are quite good at both ,,) was their DNA cover! generally the fact that they keep posting really cool covers on their youtube channel is beyond lovely and these two really managed to make me like a version of DNA ... (probably my least favorite BTS title track, lmao ,,)

their actual debut was just lovely. the song is great, soothing and super smooth and groovy and easy to listen to, their voices are stunning in it, the MV is VERY GAY, the choreo is fun and their outfits for promotion stages were such a lovely fresh wind and i really enjoyed seeing them perform a LOT. i just really like that KHAN already is quite unique and m so so so looking forward to future comebacks!

BBIBBI - IU

no highlight list without Jieun. the lyrics to this track were solely written by her and it shows - IU is an outstanding songwriter, i adore her hard work and experience and talent. the sound of the track itself is fun and bubbly and groovy and Very catchy, but my highlight is how this conflicts so beautifully with the lyrics that are quite ... critical and rough and basically show a very very sweet lovely middle finger to the rumour-netizen-culture around her ,, i am super excited for future full releases from jieun, though i still listen to Palette a lot and think she should take all the time she needs!

Bad Boy - Red Velvet

sadly, i didnt not really enjoy Red Velvets later release this year and neither did i really dig their summer release, but what i do adore to the moon and back is their The Perfect Red Velvet - The 2nd Album Repackage, though thats a lil bit of cheating since i already mentioned their Perfect Velvet album last year ,,

Bad Boy is my favorite title track of theirs this year, the styling is OUTSTANDINGLY GOOD MY GOD and the sound is just, smooth and cool and sexy and just ... damn.

also, Red Velvet definitely has some of my favorite jacket photoshoots of this year, the quality and beauty of their photos is amazing, i could spend hours just looking at those ......... and maybe i did.

What Is Love? - TWICE

the nations girl group powered through this year and released so many catchy awesome songs that i had a hard time choosing one ,, but What Is Love is definitely my MV highlight of the year and also the song itself is so so fun and lovely and cheerful and just makes me feel happy ... thank u for making me happy, TWICE!

You And I - Dreamcatcher

i have to admit: Dreamcatcher is not really my sound. their tracks remind me a little too much of Very Loud Stressful Anime Openings, so i accept that its just not my music taste ,, HOWEVER i actually really really like You and I. the song is very catchy and has this one part right before the chorus that i really love, its a very cool mysterious “dark” awesome track. moreover though i love the Whole Package that is Dreamcatcher (again, this horror-esque style of theirs is Really Up My Alley) - their styling and choreos are so clever and SEXY and goth-y and different, its just so fucking fun to watch them perform, especially the Choreo to You and I is so so so so so cool!

(also they r somewhat of a lesbian cult and m Very Appreciative of that, my god.)

LOOΠΔ - just, the whole thing.

SO - it took me until this year to really get into Loona. i knew them beforehand and was intrigued by the unique pre-debut “schedule” that their company was doing and checked out some songs but never got into them deeper. however, this year i truly listened to the Broad Amazing Variety that Loona offers and i just Have to include them here. all the girls and the subunits are super interesting and diverse and i love how especially the solo songs all sound different and lots of things were tried out and the AESTHETICS ARE OFF THE CHARTS. their full group debut was a little too ... they played it too ~safe for my taste, however i still adore lots of LOONA songs and can only recommend them!

(my favs are So Boring, i love Egoist and Heart Attack and Singing in the Rain and New and ... i’ll get back to this once i develop an actual Interesting opinion lmao)

i Can’t possibly end this list without some honorable mentions, because girls are amazing:

- (G)I-DLE are amazing rookies and performers and just such an awesome new girlgroup. Soyeon’s stage presence is just ,, wow, she is such a good rapper and performer, but the other girls are also so amazing and m so glad they are so successful and loved so far. favorite track of this year is def HANN (Alone), though all their songs are mighty good.

- Oh My Girl. maybe i dont listen to their songs as much but m in deep love with their visuals and stages and man ... call me, Yooa, please, m free almost every night.

- fromis_9 had such a cute quirky hyper Love Bomb comeback, i loved it!

- Momoland similarly had such catchy fun songs, i gotta mention them too!

- Hyuna - i love Hyuna and i wish her all the best and happiness and love and success and i hope to see her on stage again soon! (i especially loved her in Triple H, since i was actually quite a fan of that trio and the retro funky sound they went for ...... big sigh @ cube)

- Yubin ... again, not really my sound, but man. kill me Yubin, just do it, cmon.

- EXID is back to OT5! m so happy!!! I Love You was really fun, but I definitely enjoyed DDD last year more ,, but i still wanted to mention them, such a fun, diverse, different girlgroup that offers lots of different sounds and visuals and stands out to me a lot, so so good!

- Chungha ... m still in the process of falling in love with Chungha but oh god .... have u seen her? her dancing skills are out of this world, her beauty is stunning, she is so so sweet and kind and tough and her songs m so eager to properly discover and also a rly niche point but: I LOVE HER ALBUM DESIGNS SO SO SO MUCH.

- Minseo is another new amazing soloist ,, i discovered her at first through my fav photographers instagram (@ mu_gung) who took just. outstanding pics of Minseo but i also Adore her voice and she has done Amazing covers as well, her Why So Lonely is my absolute favorite and id dare to say i like it just as much as the original ... check her out, her MV visuals and concepts are Super interesting and beautiful and fun as well!

A Tempting Offer

Happy Halloween!!!!! I dont care what people say, this month is 31 days of Halloween in my life! Since I didnt get enough requests for the full month I am just going to do two a week. I hope you like this one! Thanks to @realmckitten for sending in this request. As always please leave me some feedback, love it if you want, and share. Help me shine some spooky nyongtory out there.

Jiyong was tapping to the music filling the car as he drove out of the city. The sky was starting to change, soft pinks, blues, and purples painted the sky. Tonight was going to be so much fun, he had searched online for a haunted house that had good reviews and wasn’t PG. Jiyong was sick of all the little kids screaming and the adults laughing as they went through the haunted house. No, he wanted something that would actually scare him and his love. Seungri sat in the passenger seat typing away on his phone, always the business man he was forever responding to emails either about his restaurant chain or about his label. Jiyong smiled as he felt his heart swell with pride over the man Seungri had become. The two had been through lots of ups and downs over the years. The hardest parts were of course during their enlistments, Jiyong a few times thought he was going to go mad as he waited for Seungri to come out. That first week out they two spent it locked up in Seungri’s apartment. Everyone was under strict orders to not disturb the couple, even Yang Hyun-suk who wanted them to get started on their comeback had to agree to leave them be or face the wrath of an angry dragon.

“Where are we going tonight Ji?” Seungri asked as he slid his phone back into his pocket.

“A haunted house of course!”

“Not again, the last one was super lame. There was nothing but little kids running around, and I swear babysitting Su-Ra for Youngbae hyung for the night was scarier than that haunted house.”

Jiyong let out a loud chuckle as the memory of the night came rushing back to him. Youngbae and Hyo-rin had asked the couple to watch their daughter so they could go out for dinner. Jiyong was more than happy to watch the cute little girl meanwhile Seungri was a little more apprehensive. It wasn’t like he hadn’t watched a baby before, but this was different. This was family he was watching. Leading up to the night of babysitting Seungri had spent so much time reading up on how to keep a 5 month old entertained and things they should be working on for their developments. Jiyong sat back and watched Seungri go over the baby books and play classical music as he tried to get her to follow along. Jiyong eventually stepped in and took her off to play with her toys. While she was playing in her jumper Jiyong took Seungri aside to let him know he was doing a good job, but he just needs to have fun with her.

“Don’t laugh at me, that was nerve racking. I was so worried I would do something wrong.” Seungri said as he pouted and crossed his arms.

“Ri-ah, you were so damn cute with how you were so worried about the baby. You will make an amazing dad one of these days.”

The comment from Jiyong had Seungri uncrossing his hands and grabbing onto Jiyong’s. Seungri wanted nothing more than to start a family with Jiyong and had high hopes that soon he would be able to. He wasn’t dumb, he knew it was going to be an uphill battle but he had the love and support from their families and friends. He would go to war for Jiyong.

Pulling up to the warn down looking warehouse Jiyong parked the car before reaching into the backseat. Handing Seungri a dark denim jacket and a facemask that was black and had a glow in the dark ghost on it. As Seungri was putting on his face mask Jiyong also put on his dark denim jacket and his black facemask that had a glow in the dark vampire teeth. The two men exited the car and began walking towards the building. There were other cars in the parking lot with people lining up against the wall of the building. The windows were dark, the place truly did look abandoned. There were no lights outside of the building with the except of the lit torches at the entrance. Seungri strained to listen for any sounds or screams coming from inside the building but heard nothing.

“Ji are you sure this place is open?” Seungri whispered to Jiyong who was bouncing with excitement.

“If it wasn’t open then would people be lining up. Don’t worry this will be fun.”

Jiyong took his hand out from his pocket to grab Seungri’s before returning it to his pocket. Seungri stood closer to Jiyong before resting his head on Jiyong’s shoulder. He knew Jiyong would never lead him wrong, and he just had to have faith that whatever reviews Jiyong read must have been right. A bit of fear of what was to come started snaking it’s way through Seungri’s body, a bit of excitement was also starting to mix it’s self in. The two slowly moved forward towards the door as they listened to the other couples laugh and tease one another.

One couple at a time were allowed through the door, sometimes it took a while before another couple was allowed entry and other times it was fast. When they were close enough to the door they were trying to listen every time it opened for some kind of sound from inside but heard nothing. The man dressed in all black with a hood over his face was also of no help. The man simply stood there and opened the door when it was time. There was no radio on him that they could see so the two assumed he had an ear piece in. The adrenaline was coursing through both of their bodies as they became the next couple to enter. Seungri’s body was starting to tremble a bit, whether it was from the cold air, the fear of the unknown or a mix of them both he wasn’t sure.

The hooded man simply opened the door and waited for the two men to enter. Jiyong went first pulling Seungri behind him. The door shut not with a thud but with softness that had it not been for the deafening silence from being cut off from the outside they would have never known it was closed. The two looked around the entrance that looked like any entrance to a haunted house. Corny Halloween decorations were thrown about on the walls, fake mummies and dead bodies were off in the corners. The light in the room came from a large neon sign that hung over a door that said enter. Jiyong pulled Seungri by the hand as he opened the door that lead to a stairway going down.

“I guess that’s why we couldn’t hear anything.” Jiyong said as he began his decent.

Their feet made loud clanking noises each step they took down the metal stairs. Single bulbs on a strand illuminated their way down. The closer to the bottom the more sounds they heard. Loud thunderous screams and shrills could be heard mixed in with the sounds of zapping and cracks. Jiyong looked back at Seungri with his wide grin, the look of absolute excitement helped fight back the unease Seungri was feeling. Seungri could take just about anything but haunted houses did freak the younger man out a bit. Yet every year he put his own fear aside to make Jiyong happy whom loved everything spooky.

When they finally reached the bottom of the stairs they were met yet again with a door but this one was metal on a sliding pole. Jiyong grabbed the handle and slid it to the side to allow them entry. Once the two were inside the door slid back into place with a large crashing noise. The room they were now in was pitch black save for black twinkle lights that were strung from the ceiling. Seungri moved to stand behind Jiyong grabbing onto the back of his jacket as Jiyong moved forward in the darkness. The two men slowly moved forward and Seungri noticed that the room seemed to be getting smaller as they went, as if the walls were coming closer to them.

“Ji?” Seungri whispered.

“I know stay close to me.”

Seungri pushed himself as close as he could get to Jiyong as the two moved down further. The walls weren’t really walls, they noticed they were some kind of hard cloth that was soft in some areas. The two continued to move or rather squeeze through the tight space when suddenly hands pushed against the fabric trying to grab the two men. Seungri had let out a yelp when the hands first appeared causing Jiyong to laugh a bit. Jiyong thought this was rather interesting but not that scary.

When they finally were at the end of the dark room they walked through another door that lead to a kitchen where it was set up as a bloody mess. Green glow in the dark arrows were painted on the floor to show them their way out. The two men took in the room and noticed a robotic figure at the counter cutting in a jutted motion down on another fake torso.

“Do you think we should get their number? This room is set up in such detail, maybe they could help with some MVs in the future.”

Before Seungri even had a chance to respond the two were passing the table with the torso when suddenly the torso sat up and reached out for the two as he let out a large scream. Both Jiyong and Seungri screamed as they jumped back away from the now alive torso. Jiyong grabbed Seungri’s hand and tried to comfort him, the whole time he himself was scared and his heart was rapidly beating. Leading the way out passed the screaming man the two walked through the door and into another room.

The room they were now in was set up as a living room with an active fireplace. Sitting in front of the fireplace was a man and woman sipping from glasses. The room was warm and had a pleasant aroma to the room. Jiyong thought long and hard on what the smell was and the only thing he could picture was a memory of a past holiday. One where him and Seungri had jetted off for the weekend to a ski resort, the two of them had stayed locked up in their villa far enough away from everyone that they knew they would not be disturbed. The whole weekend the two were lost in each other, they had barely left their bedroom except for the need of food.

Jiyong was brought out of his memory just as he was walking by the couch when suddenly a bloody hand shot out from underneath the couch grabbing onto Jiyong’s ankle. Jiyong yelled a loud “fuck” as he tried to shake off the hand that was attached to him. Seungri was shouting for the hand to let go when suddenly the fireplace exploded sending fire out but not far enough to engulf the two men. Both of them jumped back as Jiyong tugged hard enough that he didn’t care if it ripped the limb from the person under him. Seungri covered his face from the heat as the fire went back into the fireplace. Meanwhile Jiyong was searching for the two people who were previously sitting on floor in front.

“Where is the couple?” Jiyong asked out loud.

Seungri uncovered his face and began looking for the couple when a soft whisper caused both men to jump again. “Would you two care for a drink?”

Jiyong and Seungri spun around to find that the couple that was previously in front of the fireplace was now behind them offering them a cup of red liquid.

“Ahh no thanks.” Seungri respectfully declined as he grabbed onto Jiyong and ran out of the room and into the next area.

“What the fuck was that?” Jiyong asked.

“I don’t know, that was crazy. Do you think they planned that?”

“That’s some crazy special effects. How did they contain the fire?”

The sound of classical music filled the room as the lights came flickering to life. Jiyong looked up and into the new room they were in as they noticed 3 couples dancing around the room in a waltz. The attire they were in was that of the 17th century, the women’s dresses matched that of the men. Black fabric with gold threaded detail blended into the red silk of the swaying dresses. The men’s clothing was also black but instead of gold detail theirs were blood red. The faces of the dancers were painted white with their eyes blacked out. On top of their heads were old fashioned white wigs with the women’s hairs done up in extravagant updos.

“This is weird, the room doesn’t even look like it belongs in the warehouse.” Seungri commented as he looked around the room.

“It doesn’t, how are there windows down here?” Jiyong said as he stepped forward.

Suddenly two men appeared out of nowhere in front of them, they bowed before them, then extended their hands out.

“I think they want to dance.” Jiyong said.

“I don’t know if I want to dance with them.” Seungri responded back as he stepped closer to Jiyong.

The two men shrugged their shoulders before taking one another into their arms and spinning off out on to the dance floor.

“Ji how do we get out of this room. There are no arrows.”

iyong looked on the floor and the walls and noticed there was no sign as to how to exit the room. Grabbing onto Seungri’s hand Jiyong started walking out into the dance floor looking for a way out. A crash of thunder sounded, and the lights went out causing them to come to a hault.

“Ji…”

“Don’t let go of my hand.”

When the lights came back on the room had changed, gone was the lavish dance floor. What was surrounding them was a blood bath. The men all laid out on the floor their throats slashed as blood poured out from their wound like rivers. The women stood above them looking down with their bloody daggers still in their hands.

“Ji we need to leave.” Seungri whispered as to not draw attention to themselves.

The whispering was in vain as the women all at once raised their heads and looked at the two men left standing. Like soldiers the women all stood straight before walking towards them. The lights began to flicker, Seungri was gripping on to Jiyong’s hand as he watched the lights go in and out as the women advanced towards them. Just before the women reached them the lights went completely out, Jiyong could hear Seungri whimpering next to him. The lights came back and the women had formed a circle around them but the faces that were once painted white were now replaced with ones that had hollowed out cheeks and sunken in eyes. They looked as if they hadn’t been fed in years and were starving. The once blacked out eyes now color to them, they were red and looking at both Jiyong and Seungri as if they were a thanksgiving feast. Beyond the women Jiyong could see an exit sign glowing in blue letters. Where that was the whole time he didn’t know.

“Ri we need to run towards that sign. Hang on tight.” Jiyong said as he laced his fingers with Seungri’s.

“What…”

Jiyong didn’t even answer but instead took off in a mad dash pushing passed the women and towards the door. Screams could be heard along with the sounds of swooshing fabric, Jiyong knew they were being chased and that they needed to get to the door. Moving faster he finally reached the door and pushed it open before pulling Seungri through it and slamming it shut just as the women were reaching them. Seungri was bent over gasping for breath, he had removed his face mask needing all the oxygen he could get.

“Ji I love you, but I want out of this place.” Seungri said as he stood up.

Jiyong walked over to Seungri and pulled him into his arms, he could feel his body shaking in fear. “Don’t worry, I will get you out of this.” Jiyong reassured Seungri.

The room they were in now was a basic hallway with another sign that glowed in yellow. There didn’t seem to be any tricks set up for this room as the two walked towards the door. Pushing past it they entered a bedroom now. The room was just as lavish as the ballroom. A grand king sized bed sat in the middle of the room, mirrors were positioned above it and on one side of the wall was a fireplace with a fire heating the room up. Jiyong took in the room and noticed two doors but neither had a sign above it.

“Which door should we take?” Jiyong asked.

“I don’t know, why don’t we open both and see where it takes us.”

Jiyong and Seungri moved forward but when they reached the bed one of the doors opened and a billow of steam escaped from the door as a man walked out. The man was tall with black long hair that curled at the bottom. His skin looked flawless with his pink lips pulled into a smile. The man had a black silk robe left open with matching black silk pajama pants, he rested his body up against the door frame as he took in the two that stood before him. Seungri felt as if the man was undressing him with the way he was looking at him, that smile was still on his face but the look in his eyes screamed hunger. Jiyong noticed the way Seungri was fidgeting under the mysterious man’s gaze and stepped in front of him to shield him from the looks.

That move made the man laugh and push off the door frame, the way he moved along the floor had Jiyong questioning if he was even touching the ground. He moved with such grace but at the same time exuded sex appeal. The air surrounding them began to feel heavy the closer the man came to them. Jiyong made sure that Seungri was behind him as the man finally reached them. The man raised his hand up so that his delicate fingers brushed up against Jiyong’s cheek causing his skin to break out in goosebumps.

“Such a protective man is your mate that special?” The man’s voice was soft and delicate but had an aurora of nobility to it.

“I see.” The man responded, he looked past Jiyong and right into Seungri’s eyes. “He does look delicate; his eyes shine as if they have seen years and years of pain.”

“He won’t.” Jiyong responded to the remark in a deep voice that Seungri had not heard in years.

“Oh you both will, but I am getting ahead of myself. I have an offer for the both of you.”

“We don’t want it.” Jiyong said as he stood taller, trying to make himself look more intimidating.

“Just listen to my offer little dragon. If you don’t want to take me up on it then I will let you both walk out of here.”

“Ji just listen so we can go.” Seungri finally spoke up, he wanted out of there.

“Fine.” Jiyong said as he glared at the man.

“I don’t offer this to just anyone but you two caught my attention. How did a delicate panda catch the eyes of a little dragon? Such a coupling must be looked down upon by everyone. Yet in my world it wouldn’t be. No, you two would be celebrated. Your love would be able to bloom and grow as it should. What I offer is a life, free to love the way you want. Free of any hate and unacceptance. You will have a longer lifetime to live out your life, free to do and see the world. I only ask that you share one night with me in my bed.”

“Are you a vampire?” Jiyong asked.

“I suppose you could say that, except I don’t fear the sun, crosses, or other holy objects. I am free to walk in the sun, I can eat food just as anyone else, and I don’t age. Do I drink blood? Yes I do, blood is life after all.”

“So you want to drink our blood?” Seungri stuttered out.

“Yes, but not too much. I take my blood in the throes of passion. The taste is richer and less painful.”

“So you want to fuck us and drink our blood and then we become vampires too?”

“Little dragon you have such a dirty mouth, I wonder what else you would do with it. But to answer your question yes. So what say you? Will you give me what I ask, or will you walk out this door.”

Jiyong shook his head, “We will pass on your offer. We very much like our life right now.”

“You want to stay in hiding? You want to keep your love for one another hidden from the world because you fear what people will say?” The man asked as he crossed his arms.

“Yes, even though we might never have the acceptance of the fans we both will continue to live our life the way we are. Some day we will come out to share our love for one another with our fans. But for right now we are happy. We have the love and support of everyone close to us. That is enough for us to continue.”

The man smiled as he uncrossed his arms and put one hand in his pocket and pulled out a black business card. He handed it over to Jiyong, “If at any point you want to change your mind you need only call that number. This life isn’t as bad as you think. It is freedom, where yours is prison.”

Jiyong nodded his head before grabbing onto Seungri and walking towards the other door, the whole time he made sure that he was positioned in between the man and Seungri. Once through the door they found themselves at another set of metal stairs that lead up and out of the building. Once they were out of the building they walked back around to find the lot was empty except for Jiyong’s car. The two made a mad dash towards the car and got in slamming the doors shut and locking them. Jiyong started the car up and tore out of the lot jumping back on the highway and heading back to the city.

When the two finally arrived at their apartment they sat on the couch. Neither had spoken a word since they left the warehouse.

“Ji where did you find that place.”

“It was on the list of the top 5 haunted houses in Seoul. They had really good reviews but none of them mentioned any of the rooms. It sounded like a normal haunted house so I thought it would be fine. Had I known it was going to be like that I would never had taken you there.”

“Do you think he was a real vampire?”

“Vampires aren’t real.”

“Then how do you explain the fire and the rest of the stuff that went on in there.”

“I don’t know, but let’s just forget about it. How about we watch a movie.”

“A happy movie?”

“Of course, what shall we watch? The little mermaid or lilo and stich?”

Seungri smiled as he scooted closer to Jiyong getting himself comfortable as Jiyong turned the tv on. The thoughts of the possible vampire and what he offered swam through Seungri’s mind. It was a tempting offer, but he had to have faith that their fans would support the couple no matter what.

Wow. Okay. I didn’t want to be a villain but here we are. I will post a video confessional soon but for now, the plan to vote out Ben actually worked. I called Maddison last minute and explained that Ben and Kalle were tight and were all over the place, playing both sides. Maddison found out that Kalle was a rat and was not being completely truthful and we both agreed on voting Kalle or Ben. We agreed on Ben because we thought Kalle was going to play her idol on herself.... turns out Ben was telling the truth in voting out Kalle to old Hanuha and Kalle actually gave Olivia a real idol. If I learned anything today is that we tend to read in and over think and make up scenarios in our head. Ben was actually on our side all along? Who would have thought. All the bits and pieces he told us today just didn't add up and Cody said he was different and everyone was just quiet and Ben didn't talk in the group, he spoke to people individually. I don't really understand what just happened but we wasted so much energy speculating lmao. And now where the hell do we go from here? Cody has become so paranoid also. The minute Ben told him that those people will be writing his name he became soooo paranoid wtf. Then he WASTED an advantage and idol at tribal? Just bc he still didn't trust the plan. I'm starting to think that Cody just can't trust anyone or any process. I really think he needs to chill more. Be more low key. Just try to be calm. I enjoyed my day today. I think it's the first time I was fully in the real world in 22 days. I'm playing a reckless game right now. There are so many layers in this game but after last night's tribal and learning that Ben was being legit, I just feel bad. I love Cody but he's definitely a loose cannon and can't play low key. Which is definitely bad for my game. He and Sarah are trying to push me into getting Amy on our side, but our relationship just isn't like that. I don't want to make her feel used. I like her. I really like her a lot. I like Sarah too. And Cody. I want to be friends with all these people IRL lol so I don't want to play against them or lie to them. This game just gets harder every time someone gets voted off tbh but I'm at the point where I feel like "if my plan works, then great", "if it doesn't, then whatever. Spending any time with Jung Hoseok would be perfect - but I’d really do anything to get to know him more as a person beyond what I see on camera. Also, maybe a dance lesson date would be nice since I love to dance and he’s the best at it ;) 60. Do you think the way the boys act in public is how they really are? Hmmm, idk. Honestly, I’m sure they have moments off camera where they can be divas, dramatic, argue and everything. We never see that on camera, but I’m sure it happens a lot. in some ways, kpop being based around singles more than around albums is good, cause like it makes it really easily accessible. like, if i wanna know what a group i’ve heard a lot about is really like, i can just find a playlist of all their title tracks (or all their music videos, cause non-title track mvs are great too) and spend like 20 minutes to a half hour watching them and that’ll give me most of everything i need to know about their sound haha. cause, like, as great as a lot of bsides are, the title tracks are obviously the biggest deals, and theyre what people talk about most anyway. there are groups i like where i havent heard many of their bsides, if any at all. i do wanna get around to listening to them though, but you know. but like thats really quick haha. if a group has five title tracks, it’ll only take you like fifteen minutes to listen to them and watch the videos and see for yourself what theyre about. of course, a group like loona or bts has quite a bit more, but like ive listened to albums that are longer than the runtime of all the loona music videos lol

it’s fun to do it in one sitting too, i feel like a real Music Critic haha. cause like i’ll be like “oh hmm that was interesting, i wonder whats up next. oh woahhhh this is really different from that last one, woahh” haha idk. ive seen people do streams on youtube of them watching all the loona music videos or at least just solo singles in a row, and like i havent watched those all the way through lmao, but i like the idea of doing that myself haha. 

so far i’ve done that with Loona (obviously, pretty early on in my kpop exploration), Dreamcatcher, BTS, Gugudan, Weki Meki (before Picky Picky lmao so they only had three lol), WJSN (though i ended up with only a couple i was into, i might wanna do it again cause i barely remember most of their songs now, and i like them as a group and as an idea more than i did back then, so maybe i’ll like those songs more too), and most recently with Twice. I never did that with Red Velvet, i just kinda heard all of their title tracks eventually, super out of order and stuff, but if I had done it this way I’m sure that would be a really wild ride haha. I’m about to start that with GFriend cause I’m intrigued. is there another group I should do this with? I’ve been putting off SNSD and f(x) because they aren’t still active and I wanna be up to date on the active stuff first before I jump back to previous groups, but then again, it’d give me a hell of a lot of like “kpop literacy” haha, they’re obviously referenced a lot and all the songs I’ve heard from both groups I’ve really liked. I didn’t hear Red Light until the Fromis 9 cover, and I didn’t watch that until last week. 

groups/artists I’m thinking of doing that with: “classic” stuff like SNSD, f(x), and Hyuna (more than just her solo stuff tho, just like kinda everything she’s done), but also more current-ish stuff like Chungha, April, Oh My Girl, DIA, Elris, Exid, Mamamoo, idk I cant think of any others but yeah. I guess also some boygroups, but I dont have any in mind for that lol
