- would instantly try to intimidate every boy your daughters ever brought him, kinda like phil dunphy in that one modern family scene where it’s like:

- ultimately the man just loves his daughters and is so happy that he has them despite the fact that sometimes he doesn’t seem like it.

i think a barbarian bakugou au would be soooo fun because you could like. make his people plains-based??? maybe??? 🧐 like if you wanted to include dragons and also make him fearless i think having him—his people—be raised in a wide open space would be so funny, because then of course they could a) see any threat that approaches but also b) they’re also kinda sitting ducks for the dragon/s LMAO. so then you’re kinda forcing them into a thing of like, do they adapt by like, changing how they build (do they go from being above-ground tent settlers, maybe, to more permanent dwellings to then maybe starting to building into the earth, like sunken homes with defensive fences??) or do they just. conquer the dragons LMAO. if they just start like, conquering the dragons then you have a reason for bakugou to be kickass and also have a dragon 😌 like maybe by the time he’s a kid, they play a courage game of like, trying to out race one of the older, bigger dragons that’s been saddled by one of their parents or grandparents for decades—and the dragon kinda plays along, either because he thinks these tiny things are kinda amusing or because he still has that prey drive in him LMAO. 💀 anyways.

ohhh you know, maybe we could make them (Bakugou’s village) like, textile people. so tapestry weaving and whatnot, maybe for wall dividers but also now for sitting rugs and MAYBE maybe as part of the saddlery they use for their dragons, every rider gets a ceremonial rug to use under it or whatever? 🧐 and it’s gifted to them, bc it can be time consuming to make so, you know, they’re expensive and you either pay upfront or you haggle and barter with other things (a couple of spring lambs killed and dressed or a crate of the best laying six silky black hens or a bridal headdress made by someone else etc etc) so it’s like. a good present, because so much has gone into making them/getting them. 🥹 and sometimes they have really cool designs. like bakugou’s first one should be a pattern of red dragons curling around stars or something. 🥹🥹

although it tends to be one of the most common tropes in Bakugou angst fics, I do not vibe with the "abusive Mitsuki" angle, so you won't find any of that in the works below. same goes for Midnight-bashing (which is also surprisingly common).

Bakugou and his parents arrive home after the Kamino Ward incident for some much-needed recovery time.

post-Kamino Bakufam angst. lots of paranoia and dissociation. this is one of those fics that's sort of a guilty pleasure for me, because Katsuki definitely feels a lot more... fragile?... in this than I think he would have been in canon. but he's still enough of a grump during all of his spiralling that it still feels like him. and I do love me some Bakufam wholesomeness, and this fic has got that in spades.

the art of poor judgement by emelinelou

It's a Tuesday when Bakugou admits to himself that maybe, maybe he is sorta, kinda under the weather. Things go quickly downhill from there. . Alternatively: Bakugou's too stubborn to be "sick," Midoriya and Kirishima are in over their heads, Todoroki is the Most Useful in a pinch, and Aizawa is not paid nearly enough for this.

probably my favorite sickfic. chapter two especially. Bakugou's narration in this is fucking fantastic. he's so fucking done with life. meanwhile everyone around him is freaking out, and he himself is a complete mess even though he won't acknowledge it, and it's just great. it's equal parts funny, sad, and absolutely adorable.

(incidentally, even though this fic is marked as incomplete, it really doesn't feel that way and ends at a perfectly reasonable stopping point, so don't let that put you off.)

Solar Flare by TheQueen

Three weeks after Katsuki Bakugou receives his quirk, he takes a short tumble off a bridge and watches, dumbfounded, as stupid Deku extend a hand. Don’t take it, the universe commands. Don’t tell me what to do! Katsuki snaps.

this is a really cool AU in which Baby Katsuki accidentally starts defying the universe and ignoring his predestined path, which has a profound ripple effect on his life. sort of like a time-travel fix-it, minus the time travel. also just a heads up that Bakugou is like five years old in this so I guess it's technically a kidfic. and there is plenty of angst, a little bit of whump, more Bakufam, and plenty of baby Kacchan and Deku being cute like it's their job.

this is one of those fics that just kind of leaves you stunned at how freaking good it is. featuring: psychological mindgames, hopelessly bleak situations, and codependency so utterly raw and desperate that it broke my heart roughly 17 times.

When Ice Doesn't Float by Ma_skee

A simple rescue exercise goes south when Izuku falls through the ice and it goes from a class assinment to an actual rescue and a race against time to keep him from freezing to death.

technically this is more Dekuwhump than Kacchanwhump (though we do get a bit of the latter toward the end), but I'd argue that few things could possibly stress Katsuki out more than being in a tense survival situation in which Deku is hurt and needs help. anyway so yeah. this is classic hurt/comfort and very good.

Izuku has had this thing about him that Katsuki has never been able to name, but he's been chasing it since he learned how to run. It takes a catastrophic building collapse during their third year and a severe concussion for him to realize what it is. Aizawa loses ten years off his life. When does he not.

gotta love a good building collapse fic. this one has a concussed Katsuki, a very worried Izuku, and the usual "thanks to this intimate life-or-death situation, I have belatedly realized some fundamental truths about the nature of our relationship" tropes. but it's good. a lot of really good banter and back-and-forth dialogue in this one too.

Deku has left UA. Ochako still looks for him in unguarded moments. Bakugo is, unsurprisingly, being a jerk.

the one where both Izuku and Katsuki were hit with a truth serum sort of quirk, and things aren't going all too well.

not just a truth-telling quirk, but a truth-compulsion quirk, to the extent that (spoiler alert) the quirk causes them physical pain and distress if they don't speak the truth. which, as you can imagine, leads to all sorts of extremely vulnerable conversations and a lot of good h/c.

close by not quite by blossomshed

When Bakugou goes after a beacon during a class-wide rescue op, he doesn't expect to find Deku - or to find himself dealing with the fallout of a gift he doesn't want, and a side of himself he'd never bothered to examine. He deals with it nonetheless.

this fic is so dear to me. it's yet another "Deku transfers OFA to Bakugou fic", but it's just so fucking good. and it also features a (very much confused) ace Bakugou, which is such a rare find. there are lines from this fic which I still think about constantly. it's funny and profound and adorable and so wonderfully IC, please go read it.

as the summary implies this is technically KRBK, but the focus here is very much class 1-A as a whole. there's just something about seeing the entirety of the class squabbling over their Kacchan love that tickles me to no end. Deku is also fantastic in this lmao.

Mitsuki Bakugo returns with her gift to the mountain.

last but not least we have this gorgeous character study with a criminally low view count. Mitsuki climbs Mt. Fuji with an eight-year-old Katsuki in tow, as the fic explores his childhood and young adulthood through a series of vignettes. the insights in this really have no business being as profound as they are, given that they're voiced from the perspective of one of the most graceless characters in the series as she observes her equally graceless son through all the ups and downs and tumbles of his life. but somehow that just makes the whole thing even better. idk I just really love this a lot.

I kind of think of the soulmarks in terms of impact and possibilities, y'know? Like. Here is a person who's going to have an impact on your life. And here is a person who has the potential to mean so much to you. But that potential can't be realized without effort and sincerity.

Like with Bakugou- in some alternate universe maybe they could have been the childhood-bestfriends ultimate-hero-team. But Bakugou chose to be an asshole instead, and now when Izuku presses down on his soulmark, all he feels is the phantom pain of that could-have-been.

As for Toshinori....I think my favourite part about him might be the cosmic irony?? Like. we already know the impact he could have had on Izuku. It was the visual evidence of that very same impact that made him panic and try to keep Izuku at a distance.

Unfortunately for him, I'm not giving him a choice:)))) Dad might is happening or so help me god. It's probably going to have to be Yagi-san though. Like- imagine he's just trying to have a nice, calm walk to Dagobah Beach but then he sees Izuku cleaning???scavenging???and lifting heavy things with Incorrect technique oh lord- (Toshinori: Child. Child don't touch the sharp rusted things without hand protection- child please. ) What is the point of protecting his soulmate from villains if he dies from tetanus??????? Meanwhile Izuku is kinda maybe avoiding All Might but thinks Yagi-san is precious, 10/10, would die for him. Cue shenanigans.

Tddk are soulmates in every sense in every universe I don't make the rules. They're probably not going to get any more soulmates though. (Even though Uraraka is the ultimate best friend+wingwoman) The only other soulmate I could imagine giving either of them is Eri.

Or Shouto-They didn't have much interaction in canon but can you imagine the potential?? If its Shouto interning with Nighteye??? He's listless and unsure about his reasons for being a hero and then this small hurt little girl run into his arms and suddenly he's got all the reason in the world right here and he's never letting go. Imagine people seeing always-composed Todoroki just lose it when she goes back to Overhaul. Imagine Izuku holding him as he cries and rages. Imagine the future tddk co-parenting. (EraserMic will do the actual co-parenting but no force on earth can stop tddk from calling Eri their precious little angel).

Hi kiya!! Hope you're having a good day! May I get monoma for the character ask game?

My first impression: Okay, at first, I did think he was a jerk, but I also was like "no, no, let me give him a chance."

My impression now: Glad I did because honestly, Monoma is a fun character. Yeah, he is rough around the edges, oh, he is a jerk, but can't say I hate him. He's complex.

Favorite thing about that character: I admire that he feels like his class should get just as much recognition as class A does and I don't even think because he wants like fame or anything like that, just more so out of "we're also capable of being great".

Least favorite thing: The one thing he did that actually made me mad is when he hit Midoriya with his elbow during that one lunch scene. Like, he has this thing where he will antagonize him that just gets me. Midoriya is my green boy, my #1!

Favorite line/scene: Overall arc had to be him during the JT Arc. He had too many funny moments during that arc, but there's that one part where he freaks out (I think because of Bakugou) and he just huffing and purring and acting like some disgruntled cat. Also when he was boasting about Class B's play which honestly, I would have love to see that play.

Favorite interaction that character has with another: His classmates may not be able to stand him at times, but they do care about each other.

A character that I wish that character would interact with more: I want to see more Monoma and Eri scenes. There's this shot of him and her during the Dark Hero Arc where he just hovers over Eri all protectively and I just want to see how their relationship changed like that.

Another character from another fandom that reminds me of that character: Monoma reminds me of Jyugo from Nanbaka. Both are jerks, but they do care about the people around them. They're like the lovable idiots of their groups. (Fun fact, there is a blond character there that looks kinda like Monoma and shares the same dub VA. Elf! That's his name!)

A headcanon about that character: You cannot tell him that Monoma doesn't have good time management skills. He has to with timing how long he has a quirk for. Bet he has never been too early or too late for anything. Just right on the dot.

A song that reminds of that character: Monoma is a character I think would actually less likely to be a villain, but song Villain by KDA? I think he would listen to that over and over.

An unpopular opinion about that character: I don't think he's that bad that some of the fandom makes him out to be. Some people be writing him in fics being downright diabolical. Like, he can be an ass, but damn. I don't think he would try to get someone killed.

Favorite picture: The first picture is what I was talking about earlier with Eri. I also like that purple shirt on him. The second... I CAN'T WITH HIM! 🤣

i rly cant stand the mha fandom on twt sometimes. it just sucks so much, you know? after a decade, hori finishes this series with such a heartwarming message and people take it apart to make fun of it, because it's not what they wanted. half of them probably wished deku never moved on from his vigilante era or sth bc god forbid, he doesn't have the strongest power ever.

i'm not saying it's wrong to not agree with the chapter. for example, i do wish deku was an underground hero or sth at the end, because honestly? it would have fit him and i feel like aizawa is the best example that it could have worked. i feel like him not being a hero at all for the time kinda just drives across that quirkless people can't be heroes, which is a load of bs imo. but. but i don't think the ending is bad. i think him being a teacher makes sense too. he'd be a great one.

i also don't like how people take the little things and read into them the wrong way. his classmates obvs didn't forget about him, they probably still kept in contact. like, hori has always been good at depicting a realistic lifestyle despite quirks being a fantasy concept. the school experiences of the kids, the dorms, even the feelings and interactions of the people around all them—they are very much rooted in realism. it makes so much sense, that he would keep that sort of realism in their adulthood too. when you work a full-time job, you don't have as much as time. it sucks but that's how it is. and it's even more difficult to meet up than some people might think. i love my friends, but we go months without seeing eo in person bc we either a) are all super busy with our jobs and can't take off at the same time or b) don't live near enough to constantly afford meeting up. we still communicate online tho, and i'm sure the same goes for deku and the class. i also think sometimes, man, i'm a bit lonely, but not bc i'm truly alone but bc it's been a few weeks since i could afford to meet up with someone. those kind of thoughts and feelings are normal and it's sad that people take deku's so much out of context.

and i guess, it's sad that people can't appreciate how his current situation is cool as well. i think someone who's good at analyzing quirks, planning and strategizing, and has a good set of morals makes a great teacher for heroes as well. plus he's co-workers with his old teacher, don't you think that's kind of funny too?

and like said, the end is beautiful in a sense too, bc we get direct confirmation that all these yrs his class has been trying to get him back to where they thought he'd fit best, to where he wanted to be, a hero. bakugou having such a large involvement in that is also really heartwarming if you consider their relationship at the start.

maybe it's not the best ending for a manga, but it's definitely not the worst. that title will always go to demon sl— (sry, it's not that bad either actually sdfds)

BINGO! I love him so damn much. What more could you want? He's hot, has trauma, and could kill you! Also I am scared of him dying on a weekly basis at this point, so that's fun! That being said I do prefer fanon where they make him way more of a shit disturber and slut.

Bakugou:

Just- fucking himb! He's such a well written character, I will actually fight people over this. He's so smart, and talented, and funny, and he needs to maybe kiss Deku a lil bit idk. He's actually the most popular character for a reason.

Dabi:

This one is odd bc I really didn't get the hype for Dabi for a long time. Still don't like him that much as a character, but I ADORE what he does for the story. The entire story with the Todoroki's is so gripping to me and Dabi is most of the reason why. Plus the more I reread the more of a bitch (affectionate) he is.

Aizawa:

I love him, I do, just not as much as my favs. He's definitely a character that doesn't give the best first impression as an obstacle for the main character but his narcoleptic tendencies are so relatable and later on his mannerisms become..way too tragic and sad the longer you think about Shirakumo. I will stomp Aizawa slander posts to death with my hooves. He has unorthodox methods at times but he is a good teacher and a great hero.

Shoto:

Double bingo!! His blank doe eyes have captivated me. Shoto is just such an interesting character as an example of high book smarts and very low social smarts. I love that he can be kinda top of the class but not know how to cut chives. I love that he doesn't pick up on innuendo and is very superstitious but is still one of the more capable students in the class. He's a grade A dork in a popular pretty boy body and that's all I could hope for <3

“So, tell us! How did you two finally get together?” Ashido asks in song.

Immediately, Bakugou almost spits out his beer.

He chokes down a whole mouthful in his throat, left coughing in a frenzy. Lifting a hand to his mouth, Bakugou blinks rapidly at the blurriness in his vision, and looks over to his left.

Midoriya’s in a worst state; furiously blooming red in the face, and his eyes are blown wide and open. His mouth is agape, like a damn fish out of water, and brows raised up to his hairline. His wild curls terribly help to make him appear crazed.

“We’re not fucking.” Bakugou spats towards his damn extras, slamming a fist onto the dinner table.

Apparently, that’s the wrong answer. Midoriya twists his face towards him, upset. “K-Kacchan!”

Kaminari laughs loudly, shaking his head at Ashido’s face of confusion. “Living together, doesn’t mean dating, Mina. Even I know that.”

“Ohhh.” Ashido looks over to Kirishima, seated right next to her. She places a hand on his shoulder, as she leans close to his face, furrowed. “You told me they were.”

“I said they were moving in together. Not getting together.” Kirishima deadpans. Easily, he lifts up his cup of water towards her. “Now, sober up, before you try to start acting like Cupid.”

While Ashido pouts, begruindgly sipping her boyfriend’s water, Sero snickers, “Well, so how did you two finally live together?”

“Signing a lease? The fuck, what type of question is that?” Bakugou growls.

“I have no use for owning an apartment of my own. I basically paid for a place that I rarely stayed in.” Midoriya corrects sheepishly, “So, sharing rent would be easier for me, as I can still have a place to sleep, but it can still be taken care of, by someone else.”

“And, you didn’t ask a girl?” Kaminari whines outright, “Seriously?!”

Midoriya blushes. “I-I just needed a roommate. Anyone, really.”

“Haven’t you heard? Living with someone can bring your hearts closer! Make you fall for each other!” Kaminari groans, placing his hands over his face, “Midoriya, you could have totally bagged a wife!”

“I’m not looking for a relationship. Right now, I only want to focus on my career.” Midoriya admits, embarrassingly.

Sero raises his own can of beer in Bakugou’s direction. “That’s right! Cheers to singlehood!”

Bakugou scoffs, glaring. “I ain’t clinking my drink for that shit.”

“I will!” Kaminari yells, connecting his can with Sero’s. He grins stupidly, before raising a teasing brow towards Midoriya. “C’mon, bring your drink over, too! Mister Rather-Be-Working-Than-Ask-Anyone-Out!”

Weakly, Midoriya lifts his can, joining the duo.

With the other two idiots cackling, Bakugou rolls his eyes. Drinking with his group of idiots was always irritating at best. They’re all light weights, left in a giggling fit after only a couple rounds. He’s surprised the damn restaurant hasn’t requested them to get the fuck out.

He doesn’t realize he’s staring, until Midoriya meets his gaze, blinking. Immediately, Midoriya offers a wobbly smile, shrugging.

Usually, Bakugou goes out on his own, meeting up with his idiot friends without company. Taking a cab there, alone. Taking a cab back, by himself.

But, tonight was different. The group had begged him to invite Midoriya along, having not heard from him in a long while. They wanted to see him finally, as his usual self. Not the heroic facade he gives on the media and citizens.

And, it’s not like Bakugou had to bring him. If he didn’t want to, Midoriya could easily be back in their apartment, doing his Deku-like night activities. Journaling. Cleaning. Rewatching old movies. Being an absolute nerd.

But, as Bakugou looks away from Midoriya, taking a big gulp of beer, he remembers why he asked, anyway.

It’s the closest thing to a date. Without it actually being a date.

Well, at least in Bakugou’s mind.

Yeah, they ain’t dating, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t trying to get there with Midoriya. Taking things slow. One step at a time. He doesn’t want to jump on Midoriya, freaking him the fuck out, with his emotions.

So, this was like a practice run for Bakugou. If he can survive tonight, then he can easily breathe and live out a night with just Midoriya.

Speaking of which, he feels a tentative tap on his thigh. With a glance, Bakugou meets Midoriya’s hesitant expression.

Fortunately for both of their sakes, the rest of the group was too busy chattering among themselves to notice how close they were.

“What.” Bakugou voices.

“I need to head home.” Midoriya whispers, looking up at Bakugou apologetically, “Media press, early morning.”

Giving a quick nod, Bakugou starts getting up, stretching his arms over his head. “Let’s go, Deku.” He announces, "We're done here."

“Whaaaat? No, the night has barely started!” Ashido cries, expression disappointed.

“Yeah! Why don’t you stay just a little longer?” Kaminari begs.

Standing up from his seat, Midoriya shakes his head. He gives a smile towards the group. “I wish we could.”

Bakugou bites down his tongue. Damn lying bastard.

Graciously, Kirishima waves a reassuring hand. “Get home safe, you two.” He softly states, grinning over to them, “It was great seeing you together. Looks good.”

Shitty Hair purposefully said that shitty remark. Bakugou imagines multiple explosives hammering down on Kirishima’s face.

On the other hand, Midoriya remains oblivious. “Thank you, Kirishima. And, good luck with the rest of the night, everyone!”

After leaving a couple bills on the table, covering their meals, drinks, and tip, Bakugou and Midoriya say their goodnight’s and walk out. The city lights helped to brighten the streets of Tokyo, busy and crowded, despite it being so late.

They don’t say much, walking back to their apartment complex. But, after a couple blocks down from the restaurant, Midoriya coughs. “Everyone’s still vibrant, as before.”

“Yeah, vibrantly idiotic.”

He hears Midoriya snort. “Kacchan.”

“Don’t ‘Kacchan’ me.” Bakugou mocks, shoving his hands into the pockets of his leather jacket. “God, can’t make a damn insult, without you calling me out.”

“That’s not what I sound like!” Midoriya defends. Though, there’s a resounding laugh behind the words.

“‘That’s not what I sound like!’” Bakugou makes sure his voice shrills high, breaking at the top.

Midoriya laughs out loud, shoving Bakugou lightly. “Stop!”

“Fucking hell, I’m quitting hero work. Book me as a damn Deku impersonator.”

“You are terrible!”

“You are terrible.” Bakugou huffs, feeling the corners of his lips upturn. “You continue to fucking deal with me, when you know this is the shit I put you through.”

“There’s plenty of things to like about you.” Midoriya justifies, smiling.

“Hell, you know there’s none.”

“I like that you make me laugh so much that my cheeks hurt, Kacchan.” Grinning, Midoriya tilts his head up to Bakugou. “That’s plenty enough, isn’t it?”

“Yeah, at your expense.” Bakugou scoffs, shaking his head. He shoves lightly at Midoriya, a return from before. “Dunce Face is right. You should have fucking asked a girl to tolerate.”

Sighing, Midoriya shrugs. “If I wanted a girl to live with, I would have asked one.”

“So, you deliberately wanted to live with me?”

“..Yeah, I guess I did.”

There’s an odd lightness in Bakugou’s chest, consuming him from the inside out. Forcing it down, he coughs. “Stupid, do you even know what you’re asking for?”

“A year’s worth of laughs and time with you? Why yes, I do.” Midoriya smirks, looking away. “On the other hand, you could have said no.”

“Ah, well I guess I didn’t mind.” Bakugou offers simply.

The rest of the walk is quiet, with only the bustling noises of the crowd around them filling in the space. But, it was a comfortable silence, easy and light.

Bakugou wonders if the damn nerd is just waiting for him to ask him out, and the whole sharing an apartment was meant to speed up the process. Which, if he is, and if this is all an elaborate plan, that’s fucked.

Though, it’s totally working.

•Hawks thinks your quirk is quite cool and useful in everyday stuff

•You didn’t go into the hero business, but you’ve found other good uses for your quirk

•Like when you and Hawks moved in together, you could basically pack everything you owned into one bag, because you could just make everything super small

•He thought that was super handy

•Hawks has a bit of a thing for people who are bigger than him, so you pushing him against the wall and just towering over him is definitely something he likes

•You like to change your size depending on the situation, but you’re usually just your normal height, since it’s not usually necessary to change that

•A lot of your clothes are made from material that can accommodate you changing your size so them tearing isn’t usually a problem

•And of course you can just change the size of your clothes with your body if you feel like it

•Hawks doesn’t really mind if you make him small, it’s honestly kinda fun sometimes, but you’ve made a deal you only do it to him at home, so if something like a villain attack happens he doesn’t need to be changed back

•Hawks has a few of his feathers scattered around the apartment, so if he doesn’t feel like flying he can just sit on the feather and control it, getting around that way

•It’s honestly pretty adorable

•Also if he’s being really annoying and whiny like he can sometimes be, especially when he doesn’t get enough affection, you can just shrink him down and he sit on your shoulder

•When he’s sitting there, he likes to lean against your neck and play with your hair or whisper things into your ear

•You usually can’t stand that for very long, because his wings tickle your neck and ear so you just give in and return him to his normal size and go cuddle with him

~Dabi~

•Dabi thinks your quirk is pretty useless, at least until you got creative with it when you were doing some stuff for the League

•Let’s just say that the bottom of your boot is often pretty bloody and gorey

•If you shrink Dabi, at all, like even a little bit, he would most likely threaten you with a very painful death

•He doesn’t like when people have any kind of control over him, so being so small someone could step on him? Big fucking no

•It’s more often that you make yourself small and sit on his shoulder, though it’s pretty rare that he’d let you do that

•He does think it’s incredibly funny when you use your quirk on Spinner or Toga though

•If you want attention or he’s been a bitch you shrink his clothes sometimes, but you do it just enough that you can claim it shrunk in the wash

•Dabi of course doesn’t believe this and complains about it until you make his clothes the right size again

•Doing this to his shoes is also fucking funny, but then you’ll have to to be good at dodging said shoe when it comes flying at you, possibly burning

~Bakugou Katsuki~

•Bakugou is often a victim of a bit of a “time out”, which means he gets shrunk down to small enough to sit on your palm

•You can’t exactly just put him a high shelf, because his quirk would allow him to just basically fly down from there

•So what you do is you get the “time out shirt”, which is a shirt with a breast pocket, so he just has to sit in there until he calms down

•His head is just peeking out from the pocket and he’s glaring at everyone else

•It’s a miracle he actually agrees to stay in there, but miracles happen sometimes

•He can listen to your heartbeat when he puts his ear against your chest, which is actually the only reason why he doesn’t argue with you too much about the whole “time out” thing

•Afterwards he’s a bit huffy thought, because of course he has to act like he hates it

•He does love being so close to you though

•He’s strong of course, but your quirk makes moving and rearranging furniture a breeze

•You’re not exactly a hero, you’re more of a search and rescue worker if that makes sense, since you basically do hero work but you don’t actually have the qualifications to be called a pro-hero

•It’s easy for you to get into small places and search for people on collapsed buildings and such

•Bakugou also thinks it’s super cute when you make his shirts too big for you so you can just go around the apartment in a big hoodie or t-shirt

•Depending on the piece of clothing, you don’t even always need to change its size

bakugou is not used to being nice to people, so when it comes to you he tries really hard to be as kind as possible and not snap at you. the only time he’ll be mean is when he knows u know he’s joking (which is a lot of the time but still he tries really hard to not overstep). basically he never wants you to actually be upset by what he says and he wants you to know teasing and making snide remarks is a part of his affection (and it’s not like he’s only mean he’s also nice a lot as well!!)

but when ur so used to trying to hit where it hurts most, some things are gonna slip through.it all comes to fruition on a faithful weekend when your chilling in his dorm, chatting rubbish as per, u guys chat a lot of shit when ur together, saying anything and everything that comes to mind, so you decided to be quirky and different and ask him “are you using me for my body?”

when you ask him, without even looking up from his phone, he snorts and says “if i was gonna use someone for their body it wouldn’t be you”. you snap to look at him and you see him immediately realise his mistake, eyes blown wide in panic.you make a loud and indignant “UM” and you can feel the anxiety welling up inside him

he scrambled up and grabs your hands from where you’re lying and presses frantic kisses to them

you just sit there mouth hanging open in UTTER BETRAYAL as he grovels for ur forgiveness

A post I’ve been wanting to make for a while is of the nicknames Shidou’s called others in JP. Most of them are exactly the same as what’s in the translation by Pair of Two but I kinda wanna highlight Shidou’s constant use of -chan for the other boys.

This is for Chapters 88~148 and pretty long so I’m sorry in advance :)

Igarashi:

He gets called mainly Igaguri/Igaguri-chan.

Kunigami:

Kunigami is referred to as “Hero/Hero-kun” and interestingly he’s the only character that Shidou uses -kun for so far. I wonder why?

Reo:

Reo kinda has a funny one. It’s “Murasaki chonmage” with「ちょんまげ」chonmage referring to his teeny ponytail/bun. So Purple Top-Knot.[EDIT: I somehow mixed up ちゃん and ちょん but it's fixed now! It'sdefinitely not murasaki-chan lol]

Yukimiya:

So far he’s only been referred to as “Goggle Man”. At least one other character I recall has called Yukimiya this as well.

Isagi:

Isagi has been called by his full name, Isagi-chan, and there’s also「チョロ男」. I tried to figure this one out with a friend. 「チョロチョロ/ちょろちょろ」 is an onomonopia used for small animals skittering around quickly, which would make sense for Isagi since he’s a) smaller than Shidou and b) had been popping up in places where Shidou wasn’t expecting during the match. So skittering boy or darting boy? Though it’s not really easy to make that into a sensible phrase in English? This got translated to “Lover Boy” in the Fan Scan.

Rin:

Rin is fun. He gets called by his full name, Rin-chan, RinRin, 「下ますげ」”under eyelashes” 「下ますげ弟」 “under eyelashes little brother”, and 「お兄ちゃん大好きっ子ちゃん」which if you wanted to do a direct translation I would say just says “Big brother loving kid”, which feels like a mouthful just to call him a brocon. Once Rin goes into flow he gets called 「ベロ凛」 “bero Rin”; bero means tongue, while berobero is the onomonopia for licking, so “Licky Rin” would be what makes the most sense.

Sae:

Alongside 「天才」 “Genuis” like everyone else calls him, he gets called by his full name, Sae-chan, 「下ますげ兄」 “under eyelashes elder brother”. He uses Sae-chan the most!

Gagamaru:

Gagamaru is 「ちょんまげ丸」 chonmagemaru, which combines chonmage, a top-knot ponytail style and the maru kanji from his name. Shidou also refers to him as 「ちょんまげGK」 “Top-Knot Goal Keeper”.

Sendou:

Sendou... Gets it bad from both Sae and Shidou lol. Shidou (+Sae) calls him 「ヘボストライカー」 which roughly means “Poor/Unskilled(you could also use Shitty if you’re feeling especially mean) Striker” . Additionally, this one is funny:

This is “furuchin sutoraika”. Furuchin means to have one’s penis exposed, and with the context of Sendou and his new resolve to marry a hollywood actress, not a Gravure idol like Sae has been teasing him about since they first met, it seems like Shidou is calling Sendou “Striker with his dick out” or “Striker who thinks with his dick”. That’s kind of clunky for dialogue, so it makes sense that “dickface striker” was used instead!

Karasu:

Karasu only gets called Karasu-chan so far. But with the both of them being on PXG we might see if that still holds as the only name.

End Note:

Nicknames aside, from what I know, Shidou is being very overfamiliar with everyone he speaks with and insists on referring to everyone with the cutesy -chan rather than -san or -kun (Again, interestingly enough the only character that he seems to have used -kun with is when referring to Kunigami as Hero-kun once).  As far as I’m aware, Japanese boys don’t really go around calling each other “-chan” generally unless they’re close childhood friends? (Think how Midoriya Izuku from Boku no Hero insists on calling Bakugou Katsuki Kacchan even into their teens. This is in contrast with Kaminari Denki who seems to call Bakugou Kacchan a couple times not out of closeness but just to tease him).

The only character shown to be bothered by his overfamiliarity is Rin though lol. 

“Who are you calling RinRin, damn bug.”

Aiku also uses -chan sometimes!

Here, he calls Shidou 「仔犬ちゃん」”koinu-chan” which means Puppy. I’m not sure why the translation was squirt in the Fan Scans?

Sae gets called 「天才ちゃん」tensai-chan which is just Genius(-chan)

During the whole cops and robbers speech of his, he calls Isagi(?) 「泥ちゃん」”doro-chan” or just Thief/Robber(-chan)

as i said before, i think shinsou is a really reserved and quiet type of guy

but that seems to vanish whenever he’s around you

he’s more talkative and constantly goes out with you so you guys can have some quality time together

even tho your best friends, shinsou never really tells you much about his personal life

of course you know the basics like his hobbies and all his favorite things

and you don’t like that because :( friends are supposed to tell each other this stuff, right? 

it’s fun and makes the bond even stronger

so you decide to ask him because why not?

he’s sitting down next to you on your bed, your legs draped over his

which makes him feel all warm inside

it’s stupid and definitely not a big deal, 

but it’s little things like this that make him fall more and more for you

“do you have a crush?” you wiggle your eyebrows at him in a teasing way, although he’s not even looking your way

a part of you is nervous to hear his response

so he almost misses your question

and when he does answer, he’s not even paying attention to the words that leave his mouth

like it’s a good thing!!!! but you’re kinda flustered 

especially when shinsou finally looks up at you, eyes widened in surprise at his own bluntness as he opens and closes his mouth a few times, not knowing what to say now

he notices the slight pain in your voice and the way you move away from him slowly and he’s quick to apologize 

“shit, okay...yes i like you but i didn’t say anything because i don’t want to make things weird between us or ruin what we have right now”

he’s looking everywhere but you

because he doesn’t exactly want to face you when you reject him

but you don’t ???

instead you giggle and before he can ask you what’s so funny, you climb on his lap to hug him, causing him to blush furiously 

“i like you too, toshi”

the nickname makes him hug you even tighter while he hides his face on your neck 

it was such a cute confession and even when you two start going out, you never stop bringing it up

which makes shinsou extremely embarrassed 

“hey remember when you confessed and-”

“y/n, we’ve talked about this”

“oh come on! you were so adorable”

he pouts at you

i feel like it would be pretty difficult to have bakugou accidentally confess directly to you

he knows how to control himself and his emotions so i doubt he’d actually ever do something like this

however,

he’s not that good at hiding his crush on you and mostly everyone on class 1A knows the boy is an absolute sucker for you

except you because apparently you think he’s just being nice

and everyone else is like wtf???? 

like he’s ALWAYS screaming at everyone 

but when it’s you he doesn’t 

in fact, sometimes he even lowers his voice so it won’t bother you 

so that behavior is the one that caused him to be stuck in the situation he is right now

he sat in the common room with kirishima and kaminari, trying to eat his food in peace but the two idiots, as he likes to call them, wouldn’t shut up

he had completely blocked out both of their voices, focusing on finishing his meal and getting the hell away from them

until he heard your name being mentioned 

“dude when are you gonna ask y/n out? everyone knows how much you like her  so might as well you know,” kirishima bumps his shoulder against the blonde, only to receive a glare. “get some action”

“yeah bakubro, she’s super cute too” kaminari buts in and bakugou is about to punch them both in the face

“huh?! i treat her the same as i treat all of you extras!” oh but he knows he’s lying, you can’t even compare to any of your annoying classmates

kaminari looks at kirishima and the redhead nods at him, giving him the green light

“well since you don’t like her, you wouldn’t mind if i ask her out? because i’ve been wanting to-” kaminari can’t even finish his sentence before bakugou grabs him by the collar of his shirt

kaminari yelps, looking over at his other friend for help but he moves his head quickly, knowing better than to get involved 

“you try and make a move on her and i swear to God i’ll blast you all the way across japan, dunce face”

bakugou’s voice is threatening and low, and kaminari knows he means every word so he quickly raises his arms in defeat and nods his head

“okay, okay! i swear i won’t”

little do they know that you’ve been standing behind them for a while now

you’re happy to know your feelings are reciprocated 

but of course you want to tease bakugou about it

“hm did my ears deceive me or does boom boom boy have a crush on me?” 

kirishima and kaminari take that as their cue to run away to their rooms, leaving you two alone

“tch, how long have you been standing there?” even as he glares you down, he can’t hide the blush on his cheeks 

he didn’t want you to find out this way

you walk over to him, a wide smile on your lips

afterwards you ask him if he wants to go watch a movie with you the next day and he’s lowkey mad because he wanted to ask you on a date first, but he doesn’t say no

you end up having way more fun than expected and you actually confirmed that bakugou was a softie for you

he can barely function around girls in general so like, what does that tell you?

and he pays so much attention to you

like if you are the mall one day and you see something you really like but can’t buy it for whatever reason well…

midoriya sat on his desk chair, writing down the answers as fast as he could so you guys could go watch the movie you were so excited about

he let out a sigh of relief when he finished, before taking his phone out to check the time

6:37PM, the movie starts at 7PM so we still have time

he stood up to tell you he had finished, but was met with your sleeping figure

your eyes were closed and soft snores left your slightly parted lips, hands gripping his sheets to your chest

the curly haired boy almost combusted at the sight

you looked so peaceful, so pretty

a smile grazed his lips as he made his way over to the bed

he sat down beside you, quietly admiring your features 

feeling the mattress dip thanks to his weight, you began to wake up, but quickly shut your eyes when you noticed midoriya was looking at you

truth be told, you just wanted to scare him by suddenly jumping

but his next words made your breath hitch

one of his hands moved up to your face, resting it gently against your cheek as his thumb massaged the skin

your heartbeat was out of control and you forced yourself to calm your breathing so he wouldn’t notice you were awake 

his touch was so gentle and sweet, you couldn’t bring yourself to push him away

after hearing him say that you couldn’t stay still

midoriya almost had a heart attack when you moved, hoping you hadn’t heard him

but based on the mischievous grin you wore, he knew you had

anyways, this ability gives him more of a reason to admire you. unlike him, you’re always in a constant state of rest, which he admires tbh

stays up when you’re napping, and just looks at you 😃 traces your features, and just admires how peaceful you look

need to have a quick nap in public? no problem, he’ll offer you his shoulder, or even his lap if you need a power nap

kinda makes fun of you for it when he sees that you’re awake, and complains that he had to drag you back he did enjoy flinging you to your bed though

he’d never admit it, but during these times— it allows him to shamelessly admire your face, since you’re not awake to tease him for it

like, there are plenty of times he’d LIKE to admire your features, but katsuki doesn’t want to get teased today or ever

says you’re annoying when you wanna take a nap in a semi public / public setting, and tells you to sleep against the window or desk

but ends up moving your head to his shoulder when he’s sure that you’re asleep.

you’ll only ever sleep on his lap in private. he will not let himself get teased by kaminari or kirishima 🧍

one time, you didn’t feel like sleeping against a hard surface— so you were looking for another shoulder to sleep on

and katsuki was like 👹 “NO.” he has never snatched you any faster 💀

rolls his eyes when you get sleepy, and the two of you are in a disagreement— he’s supposed to be MAD at you, so he cannot give in

ends up putting your head on his shoulder, while glaring at you to keep quiet

one time, someone asked him to wake you up, and they saw their life FLASH before their eyes 🕳🚶‍♀️

he’s glad you’re getting enough sleep though. katsuki thinks it’s good to be well rested, instead of being one of those ghouls that sleep at 3am 🙄 that’s totally not me
