adventuring rambles #3

oughghahfjkehh, so in my attempt to write out Caelestium (the poly) and my fanon of Genshin, i'm currently trying to figure out what game mechanics i want to incorporate and which ones i'm gonna just set to the side (i dont know how i'm gonna make the Wishing System work but dw i'm looking into it rn)

in terms of game mechanics and such, i actually wanted to address Genshin's music in this post. b/c I LOVE,,, Genshin music. it's so good, i don't think i've ever played a game where i WILLINGLY go out of my way to listen to the in game music on my own, and then Genshin came along and i have PLAYLISTS of character music and location music. (dragonspine my beloved music location,,,,) so, BECAUSE of my love of Genshin's music, i felt like i had to find a way to include the music of Teyvat.

and how else than to pin it on Outlander Fuckery™???

specifically, my main h/c is that Lumine can hear the music of Teyvat, but no one else can. she's not from this world, and because of my previous h/c of her special connection w/ Leylines + purification + general energy compatibility, i feel like she perceives this world in a different way than others.

Lumine hears the music, but no one else does; this may actually seem implausible due to the fact that in the music events, we get the ability to play the character songs (and in the recent Arataki Itto event, people hummed the ambience music), however, i like to still posit a different interpretation of that:

the musicians who 'made' the music within Teyvat were, obviously, inspired by the places they're around. what if music, in Teyvat, is just pieces of Teyvat's heart slipping out in instruments by people who can connect to it ever so slightly? they don't hear it on the wind, but they feel it, and turn that feeling into the music that is known. Lumine just so happens to be able to hear the music that musicians have, at some point, felt and recreated (thus why some songs are utilized in events).

i really like to think about this b/c i love to consider Lumine's place in the world and how it affects her. can u imagine how incredibly lonely it is to see ur twin leave u behind in a world that isn't ur own? to know that u are probably older than this world has been alive? to see this world as something painful?

and then imagine that music of Mondstadt when u first walk through Starfell Valley. how beautiful it is, and how it gives Teyvat this sense of weight. i like to think Lumine fell in love with the music of Teyvat, and sees it as something so incredible. and then she learns that she's the only one who can hear it.

because she's not from here.

it is a bittersweet realization; to know that she can experience this world so differently in a way that is beautiful, yet knowing that that experience is an inherent reminder that Lumi does not belong.

Lumi often references the music as "Teyvat's Heart" and idk man it just is such a fascinating thing to look into and i'm kind of obsessed dw abt it.

its so. fuckin hot today (and for the rest of the weekend) so ive been thinking and silvie + fontaine cast beach day :)

i already had a whole plot in my head that way before neuvi and silvie started their secret office romance that the fontaine cast have a private beach day (organized by furina ofc) and neuvillette begrudgingly gets dragged along

part of silvie's story it was always an expectation that she needed to be 100% pristine and professional appearance wise, including having to fully cover up any skin that her rash would appear on. And its been so ingrained into her to do this that even in hot weather she'd force herself to continue wearing her normal clothing so her skin wouldnt show

but sigewinne and wrio finally convince that its Worst for her sensitive skin to be covered all the time and that no one else there would judge her. and she! actually has fun for once in her life!! turns out she doesn't hate the hot weather as much as she thought she did. the warm sand and cool water feels really nice and her joints dont hurt nearly as bad in the warm weather

this is also the first time that silvie and neuvillette interact outside of work and he learns more about her interests and actually has a nice time as well

and this is the starting point for his interest in silvanus. he has no idea that hes developing feelings. now that he knows more about silvie's health issues he instinctively starts becoming hyper aware of silvie's work habits, especially since theres been many times he's found her working very late hours, half asleep at her desk and awkwardly tries to offer to walk her home late at night (since he also probably works late)

And then the night where an otter!neuvi accidentally sees an altercation between silvie and her parents. and he has a whole ass midlife(?) crisis reflecting on his position as the chief justice and if it was right or wrong not to step in during the altercation. and there he realizes he different emotional reactions to silvie compared to everyone else he's met (he still doesn't get that hes in Love. like. he knows about human sexuality and romance and courtship hes not stupid and 'uwu i dont know what sex is' he just doesnt know how he himself fits in with those experiences) but the vibes change almost immediately and furina + wrio can feel the protective/possessive energies coming off now

idk why i decdied to ramble abt this i was just thinking of beach day things and suddenly im on the floor crying abt wetrabbit again

hello!!!!!

i'll be so real,,, i have no idea how to start this blog. i've been having REALLY BAD genshin brain worms for the past YEAR, and they are EXPANDING AT A RAPID PACE, so i made this blog so i can TALK abt MY THOUGHTS.

so ig for my first post, i'll just go ahead and outline what this blog is abt ^^

so genshin's a rlly big game w/ a lot of characters, and i am an avid character appreciator, and i love love LOVE learning abt characters. literally i have sat down and picked apart Lumine's every voice line while also comparing animations between her and her brother and obsessing over each and every aspect of her bc i love her please i think she's amazing i would marry her--

anyway, so this blog is gonna be abt my obsessions w/ genshin characters, i have thoughts on many of them, and i'll probably chatter abt my h/c's a TON.

this includes my personal h/c regarding a poly relationship between Lumine, Kaeya, Neuvillette, and Zhongli,,, which i have lovingly titled lnkz bc i have no idea what else to call it rn.

this blog is purely just personal h/c's, and me wanting to scream into the void and maybe tell ppl abt why these four definitely would marry each other actually. i may reference things as "my canon" as well, but that's bc i believe everyone interprets canon differently, and i don't want people to think i'm enforcing my ideas on anyone.
